Hi! If you are still accepting prompts from the Sleepy Dialogue list, could I please request #15, "you definitely needed the sleep," for married Zutara? Thank you, and I hope you're well!
Hello dear! Thanks so much for the prompt!
Sorry it took all day work has been nonstop
I am SO here for the fluff potential here! I see your request for married Zutara and raise you new parents Zutara.
TW for non explicit breastfeeding
15. "You definitely needed the sleep."
Katara blinked awake slowly, pulling up the covers to burrow deeper into the warmth of the covers. She sighed, closing her eyes, and turned back over to try and get a few more minutes of sleep.
And then she realized how quiet it was.
She shot straight up, throwing the covers back and scrambling to her feet. Her heart sank to her feet when she realized the bassinet beside the bed was empty and her husband was gone.
"Zuko?" She called, trying to keep the panic from her voice. "Honey?"
Katara hastily threw on a robe, tying the ends haphazardly as she rushed to the door, only for it to open as she reached for the handle.
"Look who's awake!" Zuko cooed to their daughter, beaming at Katara. Kya fussed a little as Zuko placed her in Katara's arms, but she settled as Katara began rocking her.
"What time is it?" Katara asked, only just noticing how bright their room was.
"10," Zuko answered around a yawn.
"Zuko! Why did- How did I sleep so late?"
He shrugged, shuffling to the bed and sitting down with an oof. "I heard Kya fussing and got her up before she could wake you. We got some of the extra milk from the kitchen walked around the palace. She dozed off for a little, so I let her nap in my office while I read over the budget updates, but I think she'll be hungry again soon."
As if on cue, Kya started fussing, her tiny hands fisting against Katara's chest. She sighed, opening her robe to feed Kya.
"Still, I feel like I should have been up earlier."
Zuko shook his head, pulling her to sit on the bed beside him. "You definitely needed the sleep. You've been up all night and all day with Kya since Suki and Sokka left."
She blinked, not realizing how long it'd been since she'd been able to sleep in a little. "Huh. Well, thank you." She carefully leaned over to kiss him.
"Anytime my love," he said, his last words slurred by another yawn. Katara chuckled.
"Why don't you take a little nap? We'll get you up when it's time for lunch."
"Are you sure?" He asked, already leaning back.
"Of course." She brushed back his hair from his face. "We love you," she said.
"Love you both, too," he whispered back, already drifting off to sleep.

SamBucky Summer Fling Collection
Okay, so I wanted to do something a little fun with the SamBucky Summer Bingo going on over at the SamBucky Library, something a little looser, so I thought - hey! I'll do a series of short fluff ficlets on Tumblr loosely connected by the idea of a seemingly summer fling between Sam and Bucky based on these prompts from the Bingo:
Coming Out - DONE
Looking Back, There Were Signs - DONE
Moment of Realization
Love Confession - DONE
First Time
Beach Day
Family Vacation
The Paul & Darlene
Hiking
Stuck in a Tent
Birdwatching
Game Night
Send me an ask with:
1) The prompt you want. 2) If you have a tiny request you have within reason for the casual fic such as a trope you like or a location or something. 3) Whether or not you'd like me to dedicate the fic to you or someone else. Because hey, why shouldn't we spread the love? 🥰
The prompts will be first come, first serve, so I'll update them as they're taken. I'll start writing Monday, July 10th and I'll post a new one every other day. So, send in your asks and I'm excited to write for you all soon 🥰

“Doesn’t take an idiot to figure it out” for Percabeth for your prompt list?
And if you feel like it, maybe “friends don’t look at each other that way” for Zutara, pretty please!
Honest to god couldn't think of anything for Percabeth. I am so sorry. I really let the fandom down on that one.
BUT. Here is the one for Zutara.
Katara watches as Aang helps Zuko down from his throne and the dais in an unobvious way as to not show the extent of his injuries from Azula. He begins to guide Zuko back to his chambers to that he can rest for a while before the actual party begins. After Ozai and Azula, everything happened very quickly and none of them really had any time to talk, let alone Katara and Zuko.
Zuko was immediately rushed away for healing as well as to begin the process of assuming the throne and Katara was running to and from healing people that had been hurt in Oazi's wake as well as some of the lingering servants that were harmed from the outrageous heat from Azula and Zuko's Agni Kai.
But since Zuko is going to lay down for a bit and is in need of another healing session, maybe now would be the perfect time to talk. As Katara stares after them until they disappear behind one of the large doors that leads back into the palace, Sokka comes to stand at her shoulder.
"You could be less obvious, you know" he murmurs to her.
"Hm?" she gives a non-committal hum of a question, but her focus is still on the door that Aang and Zuko just disappeared behind.
"The way you look at Zuko. You could be less obvious about your attraction towards him." This gets her attention. She whips her head towards her brother, her mouth opening and closing like a koi fish out of water as she tries to think of something in reply.
Her brother holds up his hands as if to ward off any attack she may put on him, "Hey, hey. I'm just stating what the rest of us are thinking. Maybe you should go talk to him?" he says, his voice gentle as he gives a slight nod towards the open door.
The fight drops from Katara's shoulders and she lets out a long sigh, "I don't even know what I would say to him. I don't exactly have the intel on if he feels the same towards me."
"Never know unless you try," Sokka says with a cheeky smile. He places a hand on her shoulder and gives her an encouraging look before turning and walking away, probably to go look for Suki.
Katara looks back towards the palace doors and taking a deep breath, she begins to walk in that direction.
~~~
Aang is just setting Zuko down onto the bed when Katara walks into his bed chamber. She hears them talking in low voices and Aang looks like he is about to help Zuko out of his outer robe when Katara speaks up, "I can help with that." Her voice jerks both of the boys heads towards her. "He needs another healing session anyways. Aang, I think Toph was looking for you," she says with a slight smile.
A blush immediately is prominent on his cheeks and he lowers his gaze, a small smile coming to his lips. The change between Toph and Aang had been very gradual, but it's hard to say that none of them saw it coming. Once he had helped her overcome her fears about the ocean and got her to go swimming at Ember Island, it was just a matter of time before one of them made a move.
Aang all but sprints out of the room to go find Toph and Katara is left standing at the door, wringing her hands. The awkwardness she feels is all consuming but she shakes her head, squares her shoulders, and moves towards the bed. Zuko is already attempting to shrug out of the robe with little success.
She gently grabs the collar of the robe and brings it down his shoulders until it pools around his waist. Next is his outer shirt, a tunic that is tied in two places, one near the collarbone and the other at his waist.
Katara makes quick work of untying the knots and pulling the fabric off. She has to help him lift his arms since any movement that pulls at his chest causes him to wince.
"I never got to thank you for what you did," she whispers as she folds the tunic and lays it on the nightstand next to the bed. She looks back over at him and sees his head ducked and refusing to meet her gaze. He nods his head a little in acknowledgement that she said something and lifts his hands to undo the buttons of his tank top.
"Here, let me." She moves back to him and starts to unbutton his shirt. Zuko's legs spreading just a little as she comes to stand in front of him. Without noticing, she takes a small step closer to him and into the cage of his thighs.
The quick intake of breath is what makes her aware of how close she is to standing to him, but he isn't asking for her to back up nor does he pull away, so she doesn't pull back. She finishes the buttons and pulls the shirt off, and again, folds it and sets it on the nightstand.
"I know that fighting-" Katara stops herself just before saying Azula's name. The look on Zuko's face as he watched Azula disintegrate before them was devastating, to say the least. "I know what happened wasn't easy, but you took that lightning bolt without hesitation," her voice is filled with awe as she remembers the hopelessness she felt as she watched the bolt come closer and closer to her.
"You would have done the same," he says, his voice a quiet rasp.
"Right, but you still shouldn't have had to do that." Zuko's top half is completely bare expect for the bandages that wrap around his middle. Taking a small breath of courage, she rests one of her hands on his shoulders and the other just under his chin, lifting his gaze towards hers.
"What you did was completely selfless and I cannot thank you enough for saving me." Zuko's eyes shift back and forth as they look into her own before he huffs out a degrading laugh and shakes his head. "What?" she asks, confusion furrowing her brow. Did he really think that he was not worthy of her thank you?
"Nothing," he says and shifts so that he is lying down on the bed. Pursing her lips, Katara moves around to the other side of the bed so that she can be more comfortable while healing him. His last session took nearly two hours and by the time she was done, her knees hurt so badly from kneeling on the cobblestone.
She picks up a pair of scissors that are on the nightstand and begins cutting away the bandages. The burned flesh sticks to the gauze a little as she begins to pull it away. Seeing him wince, she shoots him a pitying look, but continues her work.
Soon, he is free of the bandages and she is encasing her hands in water. When she sets them on his chest and water begins to glow blue, she sees the tension immediately drain out of him and he lets out a long sigh of relief.
"Feel good?" she asks, her voice barely a murmur. He just nods his head and closes his eyes, letting the sensation wash over him. They sit there in silence together as she continues to heal him. A few more sessions and he'll be at the point where the regular palace healers can care for him if she isn't around. The silence stretches on and every so often, she glances over at him to check on his pain level. The last time she looks over at him, she finds him already looking back.
"What?" she asks. He's quiet for a moment, his eyes again searching hers before he just shakes his head and leans back down onto his pillow. "No seriously, what? That's the second time you've looked at me like that."
Zuko lets out a small sigh before opening his eyes and looking back up at her. He opens his mouth once or twice, trying to figure out how to voice his thoughts. "Finally, he whispers, "The way you look at me is..." he trails off, not entirely sure where he was going to go with that sentence.
"The way I look at you? What about it?" Confusion shows itself on Katara's face and the blue glow of the water encasing her hands starts to fade as she loses focus. She turns her attention back to her hands and the light brightens again.
"It's just... I don't know. The way you look at me," he says, his eyes are purposefully avoiding hers. Katara's inhale is sharp and she's sure he heard it because when he looks back at her, his eyes are molten. "Friends don't look at friends the way you're looking at me," he finally finishes.
Katara's eyes grow wide and she bites her lip. The blue of the water fades all together and knowing that she won't be able to get back her attention she needs to focus, she sends the water back towards the basin.
She sits back on her heels and fiddles with her fingers in her lap. Biting her lip, she hesitates, but finally looks back up and towards his face. They hold eye contact for a moment before he is slowly starting to sit up.
Pain flashes across his face as he struggles, and Katara quickly reaches out to steady him and help him into a sitting position.
Katara casts a quick glance back at his eyes and sees that they are boring into hers, looking for answers, and the look in them warms her to her come. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was-" she starts.
"It's okay, Katara," he interrupts her.
"Sokka called me out on that too," she whispers. She pauses thinking he's going to question her about what Sokka said, but he just remains quiet. "He said I was making it too obvious."
This is what gets him to ask, "Making what too obvious?" he asks. Katara finally looks up at him through her lashes and sees that his eyes are trained on her lips. She swallows hard and opens them to reply. But before anything can come out though, Zuko slides a hand behind her neck and pulls her into a deep kiss.
yes! #8 kisses on the cheek when they leave the room pls
Hi Nony, thanks so much for the prompt! 💜
Buck listens with half an ear to the very important -boring- PTA conversation Eddie is having with a few other parents, but most of his attention is on Chris’ excited chatter. He’s been looking forward to Durand’s Open House night and showing off all his work to his dad and his Buck. Buck is delighted to be here, participating in his first real parenting activity at Chris’ school.
“And Ms. Barnes put all of our pictures on the wall, Buck and I want to show you, come on!” Chris says impatiently, before taking off towards his art classroom. Buck laughs and gives Eddie’s hand a squeeze, letting go.
“I’m sorry to interrupt, but I’ve been summoned. Chris waited for as long as he could, but amazing artwork calls. Eds, catch up with us in Ms. Barnes’ room?”
He meets Eddie’s eyes, and the soft, amused glint in them warms his heart, even as he feels his cheeks flush. Eddie is endlessly amused at Buck’s excitement for Open House night, as he’d rather be anywhere else.
Charlie’s mom, Grace Buck thinks, smirks at them. “Well, it’s very exciting, having a parent at Open House for the first time. He’s going to pull you from room to room all night. My advice? Make sure you tour each room entirely, or you’ll be bouncing back and forth to see things he forgot to show you.”
“Oh man, isn’t that the truth. I learned that lesson the hard way my first time,” Eddie says and grins as Buck bounces a little in anticipation. “Go, Buck, before you burst. I’ll be right behind you.”
Buck sheepishly ducks his head with a little laugh. “Yeah, ok. I’m gonna go find the kid and be dazzled with art. You can come find us when you’re done mocking me.”
He leans in and smacks an affectionate kiss to Eddie’s cheek and turns to jog up the hall after Chris.
Buck and Chris will make Eddie pay for his teasing in ice cream later, but first he’s got some art masterpieces to check out.
Send me a prompt and I'll write you a teeny tiny ficlet
Hi! Can I have 44 from the prompt list?
Thank you!
i made myself a little emotional with this one 🥲 thanks for the ask love <3
-
Buck hums as Eddie runs his fingers through his curls, pulling on the ends.
They’re laid on the couch together, Buck resting over Eddie, the tv playing lowly with some true crime show in the background. Chris is asleep down the hall, the two of them having should’ve moved to their bed hours ago.
“I do love you, you know. Even if-even if I’m shit at showing it.”
Eddie’s movements stop as he moves to sit up, dragging Buck with him.
“Baby, what’re you talking about?”
Buck sighs, scrubbing a hand down his face while his other hand picks absently at the blanket that had been wrapped around them, now covering just his legs.
“I just, I haven’t gotten you anything special since we’ve been together, and-and you know that’s my love language, I just—never- never mind. I’m just tired.”
Buck doesn’t even get his footing grounded before Eddie’s reassuring hand is placed over his thigh, keeping him where he is. Eddie’s fingers slip under his chin then, willing Buck to look at him.
“Hey, talk to me. What’s going on in that big head of yours?”
Eddie’s words are enough to crack the smallest smile out of Buck as he leans into Eddie’s touch, looking into those warm browns that are so full of love, all for him.
“I got T—you know who, an awful gift when we were together, and then nothing seems good enough for you because you deserve so much Eds. I wanna give you a gift that means something, you know?”
Eddie simply smiles to him, his thumb rubbing soothingly below Buck’s chin.
“I already have that.”
Buck furrows his brows, looking to Eddie more intently. Eddie’s thumb moves up to brush over Buck’s bottom lip, dragging it slowly across the plump skin there.
“I have you, and you are definitely something. You’re everything to me, Buck.”
Buck can’t form any coherent thoughts to respond, so he does the next best thing, leaning forward until his lips meet Eddie’s. Their kisses are soft and tender, just like the love they share for each other.
“God I love you Eds, like so much.”
Eddie smiles into their next kiss, dragging Buck closer so that he’s sat on his lap.
“Well that’s a good thing, because I love you, like so so, much.”
If they spent all night on the couch being saps, Christopher finding them tangled around each other in the morning, well they didn’t really care, not with how in love they were with each other.
6 on your prompt list please?!? The snuggling one!!
Hi Melanie! I am so, so, so sorry this took so long to get to. Writing has been harder for me to do lately so I haven’t been able to post as consistently. I hope this fic is to your liking! I enjoyed writing! I will say, this probably isn’t some of my best writing and it could most definitely be improved, but I hope it’s not too terrible haha. I also went ahead and posted it on Ao3 because I have a editing system that points out the things that need to be corrected and I wanted to make sure it was all set before posting here. Also, huge thank you to @magic713m for editing my messy writing. 💕I hope you like it! <3
6. “Sure, we can snuggle if it will make you feel better” Send me a prompt!
When Worries Turn Into Elations
Pairing: Anna/Kristoff
Rating: T
Words: 3,976
Anna’s hand trembled as she held up the small test stick in her hand. Two red lines appeared in the middle confirming her worst fear.
Positive.
She hoped that the sickness she felt in her stomach since waking up this morning was from the dinner last night. Fish, after all, often made her queasy, but the new neighbor's across the hall that invited her and Kristoff over for dinner last night were unaware of this and she did not want to seem like a rude guest by declining some so she politely accepted when they offered it. However, now with the results she held in her hand, there was no denying it.
She was pregnant.
While it was true she and Kristoff weren’t exactly careful as they had usually been, she still thought they had been cautious enough to still prevent this from happening.
Unfortunately, it looks like the odds were not in her favor.
It wasn’t so much of an issue as that she thought she wasn’t ready to be a mother yet than it was that she and Kristoff weren’t exactly financially stable yet to care for a child. They were barely engaged. And while the subject had come up a few times in conversation, they both agreed to get accustomed to their current life first. Kristoff, especially, pressed this plan because he wanted to give Anna the wedding he believed she deserved — even though she voiced to him a number of times that it didn’t matter what their wedding looked like. All she cared about was getting to spend forever with the man she loved with her entire being.
Anna’s only fear was that he would leave her to raise their child all on her own. And while she knew better than to think Kristoff would do such a thing, a small seed of doubt began to sprout in her stomach. Her failed previous relationship with Hans had left her heart shattered and broken — which would be a story for another time —  causing her to lock up her heart and throw away the key, restraining her from giving it out so freely and naively.
All Anna could feel she could do at this moment was break down and cry. Clutching the small pregnancy test in her hand, she curled up on the cold tile floor.
How am I going to tell him? she thought to herself before sobs racked through her body once more.
———
Kristoff turned the keys, unlocking the door to the apartment. “Anna,” he called as he set down his work bag, “Baby? I’m home”.
Strange, he thought to himself. Usually, when he returned home from work Anna would practically throw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly and planting kisses all over his face as if he’d been away on some year-long trip.
 Maybe she’s not home?
Shrugging it off, thinking this was the most logical answer, he continued on to their bedroom to change into a fresh pair of comfortable clothes that didn’t have black smudges and reek of sweat from working underneath cars all day. However, as he sauntered down the hallway, he came to a stop when he heard a small sniffle come from behind the bathroom door. He gave the door a soft knock, “Anna?” he asked. “You in there?”
Anna gasped at the sound of her fiancé’s voice on the other side.
No, no, no, she wasn’t ready to break the news to him yet. She was still trying to process it herself and there was no way he wouldn’t suspect anything was up with how disheveled she looked.
“Yes,” she replied, deciding on the truth. “I’ll be out in a sec, I just need to get changed,” she lied, hoping he wouldn’t detect the raspiness in her voice.
“Anna, are you sure you’re okay? You sound like you’ve been crying.” He gave the doorknob a little jiggle.
“I’m fine Kris! Just leave me alone!” She didn’t mean to be crass, but she was so her nerves from fear were so strong that she couldn’t help it.
She had hoped that this would make him leave, but she knew him too well. He was about as stubborn as she was. To put it simply, stopping Kristoff was like trying to stop a freight train.
“Okay, that’s it. I’m coming in,” his tone wasn’t angry, exactly, but rather calm, concerned and pressing. “You can unlock the door or I’ll try to find a way to unlock it myself, but either way I’m coming in.”
She knew that it was pointless trying to send him away so with a heavy sigh and a quick wipe of her tears with the sleeve of her pink pajama shirt, she went to the door, tripping over her feet, and quickly tossing the test in a small drawer. Checking herself in the mirror one last time she took a deep breath, as a final step to pull herself together the best she could before life as she knew it would change forever, whether for the good or the bad, well that was up to fate.
Opening the door just a crack, Anna peered up at her towering fiancé, brown worried eyes reflecting in her blue ones.
Immediately, Kristoff realized that she was not, in fact, okay. Her red puffy eyes gave away the fact that she had been crying. Over what, he did not know, but would try with all his might to find out because, god, he hated to see her cry.
“Anna, what’s wrong love?” He asked, the concern evident in his voice as he cupped her cheeks wiping away the stray tear from her cheek that had escaped with the pad of his thumb.
She tore away her eyes from his and took his hands from her cheeks bringing them into a gentle grasp pressing between their bodies. “I’m afraid that if I tell you…you won’t want me anymore,” she quivered, her expression downcast.
The blonde’s brows furrowed in confusion, “Not want you? Why would I not want you? Anna, I love you. Nothing could ever make me  not want you. Okay?” However, this only made the sickening fear Anna felt in her stomach only slightly better, but still, she nodded, regardless.
“Alright,” he smiled. “Now will you, please tell me what it is that has got your nerves in a bunch?” She looked away from him again, wrapping her arms around herself even tighter. He took her chin between two fingers and met her gaze, “Please? I just want to be here for you.” His eyes rang with a tenderness that felt so safe, she felt as if he was her anchor who was keeping her from falling into the abyss of heartbreak once again. She loved him, and because of this; she knew she could trust him. Kristoff wasn’t Hans.
His words were all she needed to let go of the fear she held onto. He loved her. Truly loved her. And he wouldn’t run away, not for anything. “Okay,” she sighed. “Just promise you won’t freak out…too much?”
“I promise.” He gave her a lopsided grin as he tucked a tendril of red hair behind her ear, with hopes that it would help ease whatever it was that she was worried about. And it did. Somewhat.
Ever so slowly, she made her way over to the drawer, opening it like it was something she wasn’t supposed to do. The test stared back at her menacingly, mocking her, like it was some sort of monster ready to sink its claws into her, taking her away from all that she knew.
No, she voiced mentally. He loves you, Anna. You have nothing to fear. Kristoff    isn’t Hans.
And these were the words she continued to repeat in her head as she made her way back to him, the small stick carefully tucked away in her sleeve.
Kristoff isn’t Hans.
Kristoff isn’t Hans.
KRISTOFF ISN’T HANS.
Kristoff stared down at her, the same familiar smile still on his face when she stopped in front of him.
“Wait. Close your eyes, I-That way I have time to mentally prepare myself for whichever way this goes,” she said nervously.
Kristoff cocked an eyebrow, but chuckled deeply confused as to why she was acting like she was about to tell him some terrible news. “Alright, feisty, whatever you say.”
As instructed he did what he was told.
“Okay, now hold out your hand.”
He moved his right arm from his side and opened his large palm flat out in front of him. Gently,  Anna placed the test in it.
Yuck.
In all honesty, she did feel pretty bad for not giving him some type of warning or putting a napkin in his hand. She peed on the damn thing, for god sake. Though, likely when Kristoff opened his eyes to discover what he was holding, that would be the last thing on his mind. The thought hadn’t even crossed her mind for crying out loud, up until now, due to her frantic state. She would have to remind herself to wash her hands very well, as well as her shirt. Maybe hiding it in her sleeve wasn’t such a bright idea in the end, but she also didn’t think there was any better alternative.
“Well, feistypants, just know that if you wanted me to be absolutely clueless on what this surprise could be, it was a success because I have no clue what the hell is going on,” he grimaced.
Anna giggled relaxing a little, filling the air with the most pleasant sound Kristoff has ever heard. “That was kind of the point, my love.” She shifted a little before speaking again. “Okay. Now…open your eyes.”
Kristoff obliged, at first looking into Anna’s eyes with confusion that soon changed into utter shock as soon as he glanced down at what she had placed in his hand. Immediately, the sight made his eyes tear up.
Anna took notice of this and looked away in shame with the idea that her worst fear was about to become a reality.
“You- we’re,” he swallowed the lump forming in his throat. “We’re going to be parents?”
She felt her knees weaken, and pretty soon she was a big, messy, crying heap on the floor once again. Her sobs made her body tremble.
 It was over. It was all over. This is the part where he was going to tell her that things weren’t going as planned and he would have to leave her. And how could she blame him?
As she mentally prepared herself to watch him leave, she was not expecting what happened next.
“Anna?!” Kristoff exclaimed, dropping down next to her sitting on his knees - even then, he towered over her still. Instead of angry and disappointed, his voice was worried and caring, the same voice he would use whenever she got hurt or was in some sort of trouble; much to her dismay.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry Kristoff. I didn’t mean for this to happen. You wanted to wait until we got all settled and happy into this new life of ours, before taking a big step like this, and I went and ruined everything. I’m so, so, so sorry. Please. Please don’t leave me. Please forgive me.” Anna’s sobs grew stronger with each word, and her breath hitched once she finished her distressed rambling.
He cupped his large palms around her face. “Anna, what the hell are you talking about?! Why would I leave you? I love you.” His brows knit together in confusion as he tried to figure out why in the hell his fiancee was saying such things.
“We promised each other that we wouldn’t have a baby together until we were married and knew what we were gonna do with our lives.” She leaned into his touch, but only just, still hesitant that his loving caress wouldn’t linger. “We made a promise and I broke it. So, if you wanted to leave me…well, I couldn’t blame you.”
He looked into her eyes as if he was deep in thought, before speaking again. “Anna, I only said that because I thought it would be easier on you. I didn’t want you to have to deal with the stress of pregnancy on top of managing a new life. I wanted you to feel secure and comfortable. Quite frankly, I don’t give a damn when we have a baby. All I know is that if I want a family, I want it to be with you.”
His words melted her heart. How did she deserve to call such an incredible man hers?
He wasn’t angry at her! Of course, he wasn’t. And he wasn’t going to leave her either. This news was like music to Anna’s ears. She wasn’t going to lose him. They were going to get through this and give the baby growing in her belly the best life they possibly could.
In these moments of revelation, Kristoff had tucked her head under his chin, her need to be closer to him grew.
“Hey, Kristoff?”
“Mhm.” He muffled out a content reply while rubbing his hand up and down the small of her back to soothe the tension she had built up in her body.
It still amazed her that just even his touch was enough to stop her raging storms of anxiety.
“Can you hold me closer?” She moved her head from its place to peer up at him, her eyes sparkling like the stars on the ocean’s watery surface. “Please? It helps”. Her voice was so soft, so innocent like soft wind chimes being blown by a soft summer wind. It was pleading. Hopeful.
In response, Kristoff grinned and pulled her into his arms, carefully lifting her just enough so that she was sitting in his lap. “Sure, we can snuggle,” he buried his nose in her hair, “if it will make you feel better.”
The pair sat there cradling one another, the only noise to be heard was the air from the ceiling vent and their soft breaths.
Ever so gently, Kristoff rested his palm on the swell of Anna’s belly and she followed suit by placing her own hand over his; the daintiness of it barely covering a small portion of his.
9 Months Later
“Careful now. Take it one step at a time” Kristoff had one arm wrapped around Anna’s back and the other resting gently on her hand that was holding the baby carrier.
“Kris,” Anna giggled. “I appreciate the concern, but when the doctor told me to take it easy, he didn’t mean that you needed to be breathing down my neck every minute. Just because I had a baby doesn’t mean I am made of glass now.” She hoped it didn’t come out as ungrateful, because really that wasn’t her intention; she just wanted to make it clear that she was capable of doing things on her own as long as it wasn’t too extraneous.
“I know. I know. I’m sorry. It’s just that I can’t help but be a little overprotective now that I got two somebodies to look out for.” He gave a nod, referring to the swaddled bundle in the carrier.
“And that right there is why I love you so much,” she gently gave him a loving pat on the cheek. “You have such a big heart. Now, as much as I hate to interrupt this heartfelt moment, I would appreciate it if you would unlock the door. We’ve been standing in front of it for three minutes and this baby carrier isn’t exactly the lightest thing in the world.”
“Oh! Right. Sorry,” he stuttered, his cheeks flashing a light pink as he fished the keys out of his pocket.
Anna chortled to herself. Even after years of dating each other, the way she was still able to make her fiancé blush with just a few simple words would never cease to amaze her.
The couple was immediately surrounded by the comfort of home, Anna especially basking in the warmth of it all. Sleeping in a cold and unfamiliar hospital room had really made her appreciate the coziness of their little apartment.
Stepping further into the room, Anna set the baby carrier down on the ground, then proceeded to remove the newborn from where he lay.
“Welcome home, sweet little Noah,” Anna cooed, cradling the infant in her arms as she stood in the middle of the living room.
Kristoff followed her, coming up behind her as he wrapped his arm around her waist, kissing her soft hair. He nuzzled the shell of her ear and whispered, “I have a surprise for you.”
Anna turned back to look at him, eyes wide with curiosity as ideas raced through her mind of what her fiancé could possibly be talking about. Of course, she didn’t get an answer because all he did in response was give her a smug smile before gently taking her hand and guiding her to their bedroom; the baby still occupying the other one as he sat on his mother’s hip.
They padded down the plush carpet of the short narrow hallway and came to a halt in front of the door. “Okay,” Kristoff whispered, turning around to step in front of the door, his back facing it. “Close your eyes.”
The redhead cocked an eyebrow at him and smiled, a tiny laugh escaping her that caused her shoulders to bounce as she shook her head at him and did as she was told. God, how she loved this man who stood before her. He never failed to make her happy (even if she didn’t understand him sometimes.)
She heard the door handle turn and a big creak follow suit, signaling that it had been opened before her free hand was back in two large calloused ones. Her soft footsteps joined Kristoff’s as she was led to a corner of the room. As he guided her, she already knew that they were next to the small window that looked over the small pond of the apartment complex. Everything seemed to be the same, at least from what tell with her eyes closed; that was until the front of her lightly bumped into something. That caught her attention and she wondered why Kristoff had allowed her to run into it. Whatever it was, it was large and long, taking notes of these details as she ran her hand along the rim of the mysterious object; letting go of Kristoff’s hands and making sure to support little Noah’s weight. It was also hard, as if it was made out of wood and when she leaned towards the middle, she felt nothing.
Strange, she thought to herself. Their room wasn’t very big so she knew it like the back of her hand; of that she was positive. It consisted of nothing more than just the queen-sized bed she shared with Kristoff and two dressers; one for each of them.
So, whatever it was that was in front of her at this moment was new and most definitely not there before she left for the hospital.
“Kris, what’s-”
“Open your eyes,” he spoke softly into her hair as his arms wrapped around her middle from behind.
The silence of the room was broken with a gasp. Anna put her hand over her mouth which was still frozen in time from her utter shock. Her eyes began to water from what she was looking at. There, before her, stood a gorgeous wooden crib. It was made from mahogany. The top of the crib had a dome-like shape where each of the four side posts met in the middle; on top of that was a reindeer head carved from the same wood. Sunflowers had been engraved into the sides of the pillars with little bees buzzing around them. Everything was so intricately designed, so flawlessly decorated that it took Anna’s breath away. Even the individual skinny planks in the guard rail had small carvings of creatures from Norse mythology; a homage from what Anna could tell, to her and Kristoff’s culture. A canopy lay across the top made from fine white lace which appeared to have designs of small woodland animals (it was no doubt the work of Bulda, her mother-in-law).
There was no denying it; beyond a shadow of a doubt. From the intricate designs on the wood to the beautiful lace cloth; everything about it screamed Kristoff.
Anna needed a moment to take the beauty of it in before she could speak again. “Kris? Did-did you build all this?” Her words got caught in her throat as she choked on happy tears.
“No. Well not entirely anyway. Pa was a big help and I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that Ma partook in the project as well by making the canopy.”
“How-when did you have the time to do all this?” Anna asked, turning to face him now, adjusting Noah on her hip; his little head tucked into her neck as he slept.
“You remember when I told you that my work hours had been extended, so I would be coming home later?”
Anna nodded, “And how I told you that I was gonna give your boss a piece of my mind because you were already working twenty hours a week.”
Kristoff chortled remembering his fianceé’s snide remark. “Always the feisty one, huh?”
In response, Anna just stuck her tongue out at him.
However, this only made Kristoff belt out a deep laugh before planting another kiss on her head.
“Well anyway, the truth is I lied.”
Confused blue eyes met grinning brown ones. “My hours were never extended. I just needed an excuse to go to Ma and Pa’s to build this. I wanted it to be a surprise for both you and the baby. Pa and I actually finished it a month ago but we wanted to wait until you had the baby, so while you were in the hospital we brought it over here. I’m sorry I lied to you. I hated having to do it, but it was important to me that I showed how much I truly love and care about you. Both of you.” Kristoff looked down at little Noah his eyes still misted over with sleep, allowing him to wrap one of his little hands around his finger which was so big that Noah’s tiny fist could barely wrap around it. The little bundle cooed and his father returned a lopsided smile.
“Oh, Kristoff,” Anna said with admiration, bringing her free hand up to his face to cup his cheek. He melted into her touch and kissed her palm. “You didn’t need to do all this to show us that you love us. We already know. And me and Noah love you with all our hearts too. You’re the best thing to ever happen to me Kristoff Bjorgman; don’t for one-second doubt otherwise. Little Noah here is lucky to have a father like you and I’m to have a man like you who I can call mine.”
It was Kristoff’s turn for his eyes to water now. God, how did he get so blessed to call this family his?
Anna’s hand was still on his cheek and she wiped away the tears that fell with the pad of her thumb. She went up on her toes and planted a kiss there. “Come on,” she grinned, moving her hand from his cheek to grasp one of his own hands; she tugged on it pulling him towards their bed. “Let’s go snuggle.”
It’s funny how, when sometimes things go unplanned, they can change your life for the better, the couple thought to themselves as they basked in the love of the new family they had built from their love.
Prompt: "I shouldn't have come here." Zutara, please?
Have a great day, Gem! ^.^
Hello my dear! Thanks for the prompt! On a whole its been a rather chill Friday. I hope you have a great weekend!
I shouldn't have come here.
Zuko didn't realize his feet had carried him to Katara's door until he nearly walked into it. He froze, hand raised to knock, and seriously questioned what he was about to say.
Sorry it's the middle of the night. No, I know you were probably up, waterbender and all, but anyways... I just read Aang's letter and... Katara, why didn't you tell me?
Shaking his head, Zuko willed himself to walk away, to curl up in his bed, to sleep on it and discuss it with her in the morning.
But something deep within him refused, and he watched his hand softly knock on her door without his permission.
"Shit, shit, shit," he muttered under his breath, praying she was asleep, that he could still walk away and try again in the-
"Zuko?" She asked, rubbing her eyes. "What are you doing up so late?"
"I- I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come here so late," he said, willing his body to get back under his control.
"It's okay, I was having a hard time sleeping anyways." She frowned, likely noticing the bags under his eyes and the way he fidgeted with the sleeves of his robes. "Is something wrong?"
No.
Yes.
I'm not sure.
Anyone of these would have been an acceptable answer. Instead, what came out was, "Why didn't you tell me you broke up with Aang?"
She winced, and he immediately regretted it. It wasn't his business to prod and poke, no matter how much it stung that she'd arrived at the palace four days ago and yet he had to find out that his two best friends had broken up from a letter.
"I- I was working my way up to it," she said awkwardly. His brow furrowed, hands reaching for hers.
"I'm sorry I pushed but... Katara you can tell me anything. Anything. I'm sorry if I've done or said something to lead you to believe otherwise, but there is nothing you could say that would make me think less of you."
To his horror, tears started streaming down her cheeks. Realizing they were still in the hallway where a servant or guard could pass by, Zuko gently pulled her into her room and onto the couch in front of the fire.
"I'm sorry," he said, holding her and running his hand up and down her back. She laughed.
"You don't have anything to be sorry for, I do," she said. Katara looked up at him with her beautiful eyes, even red-rimmed with tears. "Do you mean it? I could tell you anything and.. you wouldn't think less of me?"
"I swear," Zuko swiftly said. Katara swallowed and took a deep breath.
"I broke up with Aang."
"I got that much, yes."
"He thinks its because I'm tired of the way people treat me like his trophy first and a person second."
"He failed to mention that," Zuko said, voice dropping.
"That's only part of the reason, though."
"Oh?"
"The truth is... I'm in love with someone else. Even if Aang wasn't gone over half the year, even if he didn't put me on a damn pedestal, I still wouldn't feel right being with him anymore."
"I- I see," Zuko said, his heart breaking in two.
"And the reason-" she barreled on, "-that I had to work my way up to telling you any of this is- its you. I'm in love with you." A fresh wave of tears poured down her cheeks. "I'm so sorry."
It took him longer than he cared to admit to fully register her words. "Sor- Katara what could you possibly have to be sorry for?"
"I'm sorry I kept the news from you and I'm sorry for ruining our friendship with my stupid feelings."
Zuko couldn't help but laugh, even as she glared at him. "Your feelings aren't stupid. I'm terribly in love with you myself."
"You- you are?!"
He laughed again at her astonishment, as if he could have done anything but fallen in love with her. "Yes, I- mphf."
Her kiss was salty from her tears, but he thought it fitting for the daughter of the ocean. He kissed her gently, pulling her close, winding his fingers in her loose hair.
When he woke in the morning, too early, in her bed, with Katara laid across him, he decided it was a good thing he came to her room last night after all.
"I really dislike you," // "Oh, so you don't hate me anymore?" Jetkka @krastbannert
It's hard trusting Jet again after everything that they have been through, but the determination on his face as he stares down at a map is making Sokka pause. He seems more adrenalized about finding Appa than the rest of them have felt for a few weeks now. The renewed energy is kind of refreshing.
"Are you sure you know where to look?" Sokka glances down at the map and back up at Jet's face skeptically. His eyes travel along his jawline and take in the windswept look of his hair. Since the Freedom Fighters found them, Jet has been without the piece of hay in his mouth and he honestly looks better without it. It doesn't pull the gaze away from the way his lips are constantly on the ready to turn up into a smirk nor does it distract from the hungry, predatory gleam that seems to only be in his eyes when he looks at Sokka.
"I don't know exactly what it is, but trust me, I'll know when I see it," Jet says determinedly, not looking toward him.
"Yeah, trust you. That's something we won't have a problem doing," Sokka hears Katara mutter from across the room and knows that Jet must have also heard it but is seeming to ignore the comment.
Aang walks up on the other side of Jet's shoulder and looks down at the map as well, confusion furrowing his eyebrows as he looks at the crisscross of the city streets. His eyes drift back up and again, he follows the cut of his jaw and the hunch of his shoulders as he studies the map. Suddenly, Jet's hand shoots down onto the table to point at something causing him to jerk out of his staring situation. He's pointing at a particular street that dead ends at a lake. "Here, Lake Laogai."
"Lake Laogai, yeah, that doesn't sound fake," Katara says sarcastically under her breath but she walks over to look at the map as well.
"Didn't we go there once? There wasn't anything but a partially dried-up lake and some dead shrubs," Toph calls from the other room. They can hear her digging through the extensively stocked cabinets for some food. Something is continuously crashing to the floor as she continues to search for something particular.
"It's under the lake," Jet murmurs.
The crashing in the kitchen stops and a few seconds later, Toph emerges from the kitchen, "I'm sorry, I was in the other room in pursuit of something, I think I misheard. Did he say 'under the lake'?" She asks, disbelief lacing her words.
~~~
As Toph opens up the tunnel that will take them down to the interconnecting channels of the underground compound, Sokka whistles in appreciation. Already his brain is whirling with the physics that had to go into building something underneath a lake. How strong the stones had to be to ensure that the water above the compound wouldn't collapse the structure. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees Jet shoot him a smirk, "Told you it was here."
Sokka's appreciation quickly dissipates and is replaced with an annoyed glare that he sends toward Jet, "I really dislike you," he grumbles.
Jet's smirk deepens and Sokka can feel himself flush from his face down to his chest, "Oh, you don't hate me anymore?"
"Let's just get through this and we can discuss how I actually feel about you," Sokka says, swallowing a little. He looks back over to where everyone is starting to climb down the ladder and into the tunnel when he sees Toph giving him a 'are you serious' look. Shrugging and adverting his gaze, he makes his way over to the ladder.
