During his life Sharman saw the invention of radio, television, airplanes (from the first cloth wing biplanes to jets that broke the sound barrier), the laser, the insanely important refrigerator, wireless technology (transmittable waves), witnessed two world wars to fight for democracy and saw mankind land on the moon in 1969.
