don’t forget to be gentle with yourself🩵
it’s a hard day for studying after the session I pulled yesterday but I can make it work, sometimes it’s hard to get myself together and work even if I want to because I physically don’t feel like it, but starting my work is also my hardest part so I do one question or slide and then once I’m in the zone I’m fully in

before any tone deaf liberals from blue states start with the whole “you get what you voted for” bullshit, maybe take a second to consider that we watched voter suppression happen in real time in harris county.
harris county, the county with the largest population in texas and the 4th largest population in the united states, where they:
- had problems with polling places not opening up as early as they should, some not letting people in until as late as 11 am
- had voting machines just not working at all
- were granted extra time to vote by the texas supreme court to combat these issues mentioned earlier only for the votes cast in that extra time to not be counted
it’s hard to “get what you voted for” when your vote doesn’t even matter because the people in control don’t want you to even vote in the first place

🌱 03.17.2024 Midterm exams start tomorrow. I'm very nervous. My reviewers for each subject are quite thick (back-to-back) and I don't know if I'll be able to review all of them ಥ‿ಥ

hey! if you want to vote but feel unprepared, like you won't know who's running for what office near you? then there's an easy way to fix that!
ballotpedia is really simple to use - you just put in your street address, and it tells you what exactly will be on your ballot, so you can look up all of the candidates beforehand!
vote.org works for this as well, and they even tell you where you need to go to vote! and their site shows ballot measures as well as candidates, so you can know ahead of time if you have to vote on your county funding a new school or something
and if you don't have the energy/time to look up each candidate individually, search for "X County Democrats" (replacing the X with your county name) and see if you can find a local democratic group - they'll often have sample ballots on their website showing which candidates they recommend voting for if you're voting blue
don't let fear of unpreparedness stop you from voting! there are amazing resources out there, and all of us can do our part!

When you vote, you’re not just voting for a candidate - you’re also voting for a child’s education, policing and public safety, affordable housing and rent, public transit and more 🚌 #Roevember Your vote matters. 💓 Many election outcomes are razor-thin, and your ballot can decide who makes the laws that impact your life and your community. Don't forget to vote, and if possible, vote early!
