They were never allowed to celebrate holidays. No gifts, no happiness. Only tools for Reginald to use, and throw away.

All they wanted was happiness, something that they were only allowed on Saturdays from 12-12:30. Half an hour of fun, the rest of their lives were surrounded training, missions, ultimately falling apart because of Ben dying.

The trauma from their dad, and the loss of their brother broke them.

Luther was gaslit by Reginald that he’s a good dad, Diego didn’t grow up, Allison thought rumoring a job and ‘love’, Klaus couldn’t be sober, Five got lost in time, Viktor had to find out the hard way that his life was a lie.

I think your take on Tom’s relation with his dad is my favorite. I love how complicated you made it. We can’t just outright say that he’s a bad guy because he’s not. He just doesn’t know how to show that he loves Tom. On the other hand, Tom is justified in hating his dad because his dad has never showed him that he loves him. Bill getting Tom transferred is proof that he was worried for his safety. I also love how you gave Tom’s siblings a different relationship with their dad. It’s made the whole thing more complex and it feels real. I love the way you’ve built this world and I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Thanks nonnie ❤️❤️ Bill definitely isn't a "villain" he's just a dad (traumatized by war) doing his best but messing up left, right, and center and too stubborn to realize it or acknowledge it versus his equally stubborn offspring who would rather chop off his left arm than ask for validation.

I tried to keep the family dynamics believable. Let's be real — families are complicated!! Relationships are complicated!! ALL relationships: familial, friend, romantic, etc. Nobody is perfect, everyone messes up, you can love people a million different ways and be loved by them a million ways more. You can mess up and hurt people in just as many ways, too.

It's been a labor of love so I appreciate you acknowledging the hard work that goes into it!
