✿ It's The Little Things ✿
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: My first time writing! Admittedly I'm very nervous, but also so excited!! Kept it simple with a small headcanon list to start, but I tried to write a decent amount for each point, and I hope that everyone is in character :0 Posting at 4am because I have no control over my life...
Summary: Little relationship things with the Strawhats. Can be interpreted as the anime/manga or the live action version of the character.
Characters: Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji
Content: SFW, G/N reader, slightest hint of angst in Sanji's part, but otherwise, pure unadulterated fluff! ✿
(Part 2 - Buggy, Shanks, Mihawk) (Part 3 - Franky, Robin, Law, Kid, Killer) (Part 4 - Crocodile, Rosinante/Corazon, Doflamingo)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luffy
✿ He absentmindedly draws shapes on your leg, back, or whatever part of you is there as you sit together, whether you are watching the waves, or listening to one of Usopp's stories. He is almost magnetic in the way he ends up attached to you. If you're not feeling it, he will do his best to keep his hands to himself, but as soon as his focus shifts onto anything else, they're back on you, drawing little clouds and hearts. He tried, he really did!
✿ This bottomless pit inhales food like it's going out of fashion, but, much to the bewilderment of the rest of the crew, he will actually feed you from his plate as he eats, even though you are eating your own food. It may be a case of "1 for you, 5 for me," but it's almost instinctive for him; he's sharing something he's passionate about with you, and making sure that, in his eyes, you are happy, healthy and strong. He values your wellbeing more than food; you are one of the most important things in his life.
✿ Despite how chaotic he is in every aspect of his life, his presence brings you to a state of complete peace, even when he's yelling about whatever currently has his attention. Just knowing he is there comforts you in a way that nothing, and no one else can. As long as Luffy is there, being the same old Luffy he always is, you know everything will be alright in the end, and if it isn't alright, well, it isn't the end yet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zoro
✿ He always places a comforting hand on your head when he passes by, or ends up in the same general space as you. It's his version of a hug, a reassuring touch that he is there, and that he's happy to see you. Zoro is very subtle with his affection, at least in public, but even when it's just the two of you, he automatically defaults to the head pat. It comforts him as much as it does you, and the simple action alone conveys his feelings far better than he ever could with words.
✿ You both love silently observing everything going on around you, and it's such a comfortable silence. You just enjoy each others company while watching the world go by, with Zoro also keeping an eye out for any threats, as he does. Sometimes you end up passing silent judgement on what you see, and you have both developed this uncanny ability to gossip without saying a single word. It's honestly unnerving at times, but you are just so familiar with each others micro-expressions that it's second nature.
✿ Insults are terms of endearment. If anyone else called either of you such things, all hell would break loose - swords drawn, blood spilt, bodies hit the floor, the whole song and dance. It actually started out as a form of deflection, with both of you being far too stubborn to admit any feelings were there, even to yourselves; "No, I don't like you, shitstain, I tolerate you." - "Whatever helps you sleep at night, arseface." As you connected though, it just became your thing, and you love seeing who can come up with the funniest insults. Zoro is surprisingly creative in this regard.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nami
✿ Nami has a habit of fixing your clothes and hair if something is out of place. It can seem overbearing to others, but she knows you appreciate the gesture. She spent years putting up walls to defend herself, and this is a safe way for her to have a little moment alone with you, giving you gentle little touches without revealing to the world just how important you are to her. It is a very grounding experience for both of you, and you end up doing the same for her on the rare occasion that she isn't completely flawless. She may purposely put things out of place so you have the opportunity to fix something too.
✿ She has an eye for the finer things, and loves getting you little trinkets, and especially pieces of jewellery, which often match or pair with hers, like pendants that fit together to make a whole shape, and such. Just don't ask her where she got them; "Shhh, you don't need to worry about that." All that matters is that you now have a tangible connection to each other, no matter how close, or far apart you are.
✿ Another person who relishes in comfortable silence. Of course you love chatting with each other, and often do so later into the night than you intended. Nami is very quick-witted and your shared snark is always so enjoyable! But it's the moments when you are doing your own thing together, basking in the warmth of that closeness that brings the most joy. Every so often, you will share something interesting or amusing, depending on what you're doing, but you always return to that silence. It's very domestic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Usopp
✿ You both end up in regular fits of giggles, that grow into raucous laughter, before devolving into the sounds of various suffocating wildlife, which only fuels the hilarious fire. He doesn't even have to say anything at times; he just has a look, and as soon as he catches your eye with it, you absolutely lose it. The amount of nonsensical inside jokes you have is absurd in itself.
✿ Ever the storyteller, Usopp will wind down the day with you relaxing under the stars, telling you fantastical stories about the impossible feats of the great 'Captain Usopp.' His creativity and imagination are something you greatly admire, and as much as you try to stay awake to appreciate those qualities, the comfort he brings has you dropping off every time. He'll carry you to bed most nights, but sometimes he can only manage to drag you around like a corpse he's trying to hide, and he'll end up waking you up laughing about it.
✿ You automatically link your little fingers whenever you are close enough to. It doesn't even register half of the time, only realising when you need that hand or try to go your separate ways. When this happens, providing there isn't anything that needs your urgent attention, you like to dramatize your parting, playing up that this is the most painful moment of your lives! "Don't you dare let go, Usopp! We can both make it out of this alive!" - "I'm so sorry, I can't hold on any longer, and I refuse to drag you down with me." - "No! Don't say that!" - "I love you so much, but you need to let me go..." Leading to you unlinking your fingers, and exaggerated fake cries of anguish. It annoys everyone around you immensely.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sanji
✿ You shamelessly flirt with each other, making everyone around you uncomfortable, groaning at how painful it is. You weren't together when you started playing this romantic game of chicken, giving back everything Sanji threw at you, and then some, but once you figured your feelings out, you actually developed it into a legitimate game where you attempt to be as sickening and obnoxious as possible. If there is no one grimacing, angrily telling you both to pack it in, or simply leaving the room; you aren't flirting enough. There is a points system, and you're currently in the lead. Sanji ends up caving over the things you say, and his brain loses the ability to form words, let alone string them together in a coherent sentence.
✿ Sanji always leaves a drink and a bite to eat for you to wake up to, since he isn't there in person, having to wake up much earlier to prepare the food for the day. Growing up in a restaurant, early starts are just part of his natural rhythm, so it doesn't bother him, but sometimes you try to wake up with him to at least watch the sunrise together, before going back to bed for a couple more hours. He cherishes those mornings, and there is always an extra spring in his step on those days.
✿ He takes every opportunity he can to share a glance and a warm smile, a gentle touch of your hands, or a chaste kiss with you. They are agonisingly brief moments, but Sanji needs them to get him through the day, otherwise he would just cling to you, and neither of you would get anything done! Unknown to you, these moments are also his way of reminding himself that you chose him over everyone else, that he is loved unconditionally, and that he is enough, without having to, in his opinion, burden you with his insecurities. He'll open up to you one day, and you will be able to give him verbal affirmations along with everything else~

Growing Old Together
What life is like when you make the life long choice to grow old with them. Life, family, love, all the things that are needed to get old and crusty with the man you love.
~
Tumblr media
Firstly, you two would wait AFTER he becomes King of the Pirates for literally anything to develop in your relationship. He’s too busy focusing about becoming King of the Pirates and finding the One Piece to worry about something like a relationship. Of course there would be that tension, the casual closeness and moments that just the two of you share. Never like boyfriend girlfriend shit, just casually sharing food or sleeping in the same bed all cuddled up, but no relationship. The day the crew found the One Piece and Luffy finally became the King, he asked you to be his Queen.
With such title, came a promise to protect you and forever be by your side, along with it being a proposal. Which yes it’s weird from being a ‘so are they a thing or not?’ for years on end to getting married, but it works for you two and you personally couldn’t have it any other way. You can finally call your captain your lover, officially being each other’s special someone.
It doesn’t take too long to finally have your first and only child. A little boy, he’s all you two need. Neither you or Luffy could think of a name, so Robin chipped in and suggested the name Isra, meaning journey, like yours and Luffys journey together as individuals, a crew, and the journey of going through parenthood together. You both fell in love with the name, thus keeping it. And boy did Isra grow up to be exactly like his father, so full of energy and love in his heart. The crew fell in love with little Isra, enjoying the little boys company and the simple joy he bought to the crew. It was just like having two Luffys
As he got older, Isra would train with his father to become strong and a reliable member of the crew. He is the son of the King of the Pirates, to say he had a lot of pressure was an understatement. Especially since Luffy still remembered what Ace would say about Roger, and it would kill him if history repeated itself. But of course it didn’t, Isra grew up with a crew that loved and respected him, an Angel of a mother, and a father that any kid would ever dream of having.

Anything was on the table for this man, willing to put his dreams of finding The All Blue just to make you happy from day one of you two dating. But when you told him that his dreams where just as important as his and that you’d be willing to duel wield your dreams he fell for you all over again, dropping down on one knee and proposing on the spot. But it was a few years before you two finally tied the knot, after you two had celebrated the arrival of two baby girls. As much as Sanji wanted to marry you before having kids, biology can’t help that you got pregnant. Which is how little baby Sora came along, naming her after his mother. Than around 5 months later on the night he was going to propose, you drop the bomb of already being a month pregnant. And soon enough Kairi came along. Your two little girls, named after the sky and the ocean.
You two had one big wedding, the Straw Hats and at the Baratie. Unknowingly you referred to Zeff as the girl’s grandfather, never have you seen such a tough man melt so fast. The wedding was short and sweet, your big family all together. And that might lead to the creation and soon birth of your third daughter, Lucy. You picked the name in memory of your captain and his alias back in Dressrosa. If it wasn’t for Luffy, you two would have never met and never had your three beautiful girls, it was your personal way of saying ‘thank you’ to him. Luffy actually greatly appreciated the thought, taking the gesture very personally and taking the fact with pride. Definitely doesn’t flex it saying “I have a kid named after me”.
After that as time went on, you two had two more kids and finally decided to stop. Two more girls, named Oceana and Koi. Sanji prided himself on being the number one girl dad, and that he was. All 5 girls being his spoiled princesses, all they’d have to do is bat their eyes and he’d bring them the whole world, sun, and moon. Funnily enough, they all grew up and developed their fathers love of cooking, wanting to be just like him. He felt so proud, have a little class of his little princesses to teach. Not only did he teach them cooking, the girls grew up seeing how a woman should be treated. Not through directly telling them, but just how he would treat you. Always make you feel like the Goddess you are. I mean you gave him all 5 of his beautiful daughters, growing and making them in your own body and going through hours of pain to bring them into the world. He can never express how gratefully he is.
Lucky for him he doesn't have to worry about his girls too much. They didn't get much when it comes to his sheer strength, but they did get both yours and his head strong attitude and not the type of girls to deal with shit. Sure they get into fights a lot because some guy thought it would be a good idea to flirt with one of them, but honestly you and Sanji can't help but feel like the most proudest parents.

Zoro never thought about dating, getting married or having kids. But something about you triggered something in his brain. It wasn't a whole love at first sight and have kids, it was more like a 'out of all these idiots you irritate me the least' and you didn't mind that. You treated each other with a neutral respect, that's what kept you close to each other. Two peas in a pod, attached by the hip, the brains and the brawn. It was only until during the two years that you two thought through your feelings for each other, missing each other and hating not having the other. The second Zoro first saw you again, all he said was "never leave my side again". And that you didn't, ever. You stayed by his side, up until years later when Luffy became King and he could finally chill out a bit. He was still developing using more swords, but now he could focus on other important things. You. Which was the day he gave you that ring, saying the same thing he did years ago. "Never leave my side again". And you accepted.
As if it was some romance novel, your wedding night lead to the creation of your daughter. It was your idea to name your daughter after Zoros deceased childhood friend, looking him in the eyes as your baby sleeps in your arms. "I've always like the name Kuina, it's such a beautiful name! And I know you'll make her proud, her, and our little Kuina". Your words brought tears to his eye, something he hasn't done in a long time. Although he loved and appreciated the name, he'd always call her Squirt. He devoted himself to teaching how to use a sword, since she always used to try and nibble on them when she was teething. When she got old enough he trained her everyday on how to use a blade, over the years teaching her to use two swords. He of course offered to teach her 3 sword style, but she was happy with the two.
Luckily for you, Zoro, and the Straw Hat crew, she didn't inherit Zoros terrible sense of direction. In the case of that event, both you and Zoro requested that Nami teach her navigation. She happily did of course, but not for free. She was a very sweet girl, but was probably double the amount of dense at her father. Can navigate but has zero social awareness, a fair trade from Zoros point of view. But he's always been social unaware, which surprisingly enough he's the only person to get that side of her. There would be something life threatening happening before their eyes, everyone would be freaking out especially Chopper, Nami and Usopp, but poor Kuina and Zoro would just watch with a blank stare before dealing with the threat. In which, Zoro knew that his daughter would be able to take care of herself, she is his daughter after all.
Which is probably the best part of his side of parenthood. Your crew would be adventuring or something and Kuina would be gone and you'd be loosing your mind worrying about your daughter, Zoro would just give you a blank look and tell you to "calm down, woman. She's fine". She always was, but you're a mother. Kuina is basically Zoros side kick, second in command, his left hand woman, his missing eyes, the one who covers his back. He liked to brag to the cook that his daughter is as strong as he was at her age, even going as far as to sometimes say "my 10 year old daughter is stronger than you, pervert cook" which would of course always start a fight. Not that she minded, she always got a kick out of her father getting into arguments with the ships cook. Much to your dismay.
Tumblr media
The fact that someone like you confessed to him in the first place was already a shock. You had always been so kind, helping out anyone who needed it. Which makes sense as to why you where Marcos main nurse, his number 2. For a while he just thought you where just being nice, until you two got drunk one night and ranted everything to each other. Ace thought that you'd never talk to him again, think of him as some monster child like everyone else. But no. "Why should I care if your Rogers son? I'm a whitebeard pirate! And so are you, so to pops we're family. And I like being around you, much more fun to be around than all these old men". And he fell hard. The next day he casually asked you out, which you said yes. Even after what you said, he didn't know if he should trust that this would last long. It would be nice while it lasted, the cuddles and kisses, holding someone at night, a drinking partner, someone to keep warm at night during the winter, someone to keep him cold during the summer with how cold womans bodies get, just someone to love him. But the ending never came, shocked even when you brought up the idea of going more and more steps further into the relationship, finally leading to you asking about marriage.
Before deciding what happens next in your relationshit the events of Impel Down and Marineford go down, but end better than hoped. Ace didn't listen to the antagonizing words of the marine, instead he came sprinting for you to scoop you up in his arms and take you far away from all this danger. You're a nurse after all, you shouldn't be this far into the battle field. That was actually the day he finally asked, you, him, and the Whitebeard pirates rushing back to the ship, you safe in his arms, he smiles as he looks down at you. "Let's get married". And you did. The Whitebeard Pirates and the Straw Hats, coming together for your wedding. Soon after, your boss Doctor Marco looked you in the eyes and told you that you're pregnant. It was probably the first time in his life that Ace had cried, knowing that he was going to be a dad. To start a family with you, a family away from Roger, a family starting within the Whitebeard Pirates. You had your daughter, naming her Rouge, after his beloved mother. The woman who slowly forced herself to die just so she could bring Ace into this world.
A few years later you had your son, Eddy. His namesake being your captain, Edward. He was so touched by the gesture, an adorable innocent little one being named after him. Being even more toughed when you two asked for him to be the Godfather. Of course he said yes, already accepting the title of grandpa anyway. You also asked Marco to be a Godfather, gratefully for the man who saved you and brought you to the pirates. The crew loved having the two little ones running around the ship, it bringing a new layer of joy on board. Someone's having a bad morning? The two kids come running past happily playing and laughing. Depression cured. With the two kids, Rouge was an exact copy of how Ace was as a kid, Ace actually finding it funny cause Eddy was exactly like Luffy as a kid. Same age gap to. Eddy was the cute little happy idiot who would talk to anyone and everyone, and if anyone was mean to him you'd expect his big sister to appear out of nowhere and bite your ear off.
The two grew to be amazing, Rouge always staying the protective older sister and taking care of her brother. She developed multiple skills in case Eddy wanted to go off and be a pirate without their parents and he needed a crewmate. A doctor? She's got it. A navigator? She's got it. A cook? She's got it. A shipwright? She's got it. Anything Eddy would need for his crew, his big sister has his back. You and Ace are glad that the two have such a good relationship, especially Ace. Remembering how much of a dick he used to be to Luffy he's glad that his daughter is such an amazing big sister. But where Rouge knew knowledge, Eddy was the fighter. He was the one that started fights and punching people in the face, doesn't mean that Rouge was weak by any means. Say Eddy heard someone making an off handed comment about his sister, he'd hit first. But if they hit him back, she'd come in and hit third. Ace is honestly looking forward to the day his kids will go off and make a name for themselves, knowing that they'll be two forces' to deal with.
Tumblr media
Surprisingly enough it didn't take too long for sparks to fly with you two. Knew each other for 3 months before dating, which to outsiders looking in it looked like 'oh they'll last a month and never speak again' but no, it was as if that sweet honeymoon phase never ended and constantly being sweet and lovey dovey. Which lead to only dating for a year and him dropping down on one knee, you said yes. Because of his line of business it had to be insanely small with just the two of you and a priest, of course you two sent out a few letters to close family to tell them. Which was his little brother and boss, and your very close family. He didn't think this would happen, especially since you where once a pretty girl he saw on the street while he was in Dressrosa. Not like me minds, he's madly in love and you love him just as much as he loves you. It didn't take long before you fell pregnant, which is when stuff with life started to change. You where moved to a Revolutionary secret hideout to keep you safe, especially with how many enemy's would love to kill you and your unborn baby. You didn't mind, spending most of your time with Koala and talking about parenthood with Dragon, not like he could say much in the first place.
9 months later your daughter was born, little baby Nova. Her name was a heavy topic between you and Sabo, wondering what to name your little princess. Nothing ever felt perfect enough. Until one night while laying together, looking up at the stars with your head on his chest and his arms wrapped around you and one on your stomach. He said it. "Nova". "Nova?". "Yeah, like a supernova in the stars, and it also means 'New', like my new life with you". "Nova it is". And that's when it was decided. She was the light of his life, not leaving home for almost a month just to be with you and your daughter. You told him that he needs to work and people need him, which he eventually gave in and finally went back to his work under Dragon. There would be time that he would be gone for weeks on end but you knew he'd always come back, and when he did he'd always hug his family close and never want to let go. As she got older she was granted a normal life, being able to go to school and make friends, while under the watchful eye of the Revolutionary. Sabo is very high ranked after all, if anything happened to Nova it would break the hearts of everyone who knew the girl. He always made sure to make it for birthdays and bringing back an amazing gift from the country he had returned from, which defiantly not making her classmates jealous.
As Nova got older, Sabo had told her the truth behind his work and how important and truly scary it really was. Even at the age of 13 when she was told she understood compliantly, she wasn't an idiot. Speaking of, Nova was very smart for such a young age with Sabo being her teacher. She was a little of an outsider because of it, kids her age hating how smart and spoilt she was. She didn't care, she didn't really like them either. And besides, there was an entire organization that practically kissed the ground she walked on. At only age 17, she looked up at her father with a serious stare. "I want to join the Revolutionary". And she did. She wasn't sent to do anything scary or too dangerous, just starting off to help with Koala and her father on missions. You felt so proud of your family, your husband and daughter being Revolutionaries and working hard to change the world for the better. You where just a girl who would spend her days working at a bakery, years later you're married and birthed two people who are changing the world.
Eventually as she got older, Nova became Sabos right hand woman, taking over Koala's job and working hand in hand with her father. She always was a daddies girl, even if he was slightly absent during the early years. He hates himself for that, but he defiantly is making up for lost time by working with her now. Still his spoilt princess though, but she wasn't a spoilt brat. You raised her better than to be a brat, always making sure she grew up to be gratefully and knowing that her daddy wasn't like the other kids dads and could gift her different things. Which she always took to heart, always using it till you two practically begged her to stop using it. Like if he got her a beautiful kimono from Wano, she'd wear it even when it wouldn't fit and was practically falling apart. She has a box under her bed of everything Sabo ever got her that she can't use anymore, not having the heart to ever get rid of it. She thinks it's a secret, but of course you know and you told Sabo. Sabo hopes that one day if needed, she'll take over his roll in the Revolutionary. She would want nothing more, knowing it would make him proud.

Your crew mates described you two as childhood sweethearts, but Law begged to differ. That day in the snow, begging Penguin and Sashi to stop hurting the poor bear, Law appearing and saving Bepo, you and Bepo following him around like lost puppies, and befriending Penguin and Sashi. The OG crew was what you 5 where called. It wasn't a secret that you had a crush on Law and it wasn't a secret that he liked you, but you where always too considerate of his feelings and waited for him to confess when he was ready. He knew that you where doing this and he appreciated the thought, and oh how he wanted desperately to finally tell you how he felt and how much he had fallen for you over the years. What was stopping him? Doflamingo, obviously. He didn't want to get you to get hurt because of him, especially knowing the type of man that Doflamingo is. If he knew that Law had someone that close to him, God doesn't know what that big bird would do to you just to hurt Law. Once it was over, he knew he was ready to confess. But of course shit happens, Straw Hat shit. During the celebration at Wano, the celebration of freeing the country from Kaido. He watched the fireworks with you, and finally told you how he felt. "I've loved you for years now, I've waited years to hold you in my arms. Now, you are safe. And I want you to be safe with me for however long you wish". You grabbed his hand, gripping it tightly. "I'd be more than happy to be with you, for however long you wish to have me".
It took a decade before finally getting married, but a little something popped up between this time. Well, someone. Well...two little someone's. 3 years into your relationship, the Heart Pirates celebrated the announcement of a new member joining, a member created by you and Law. Law was your own personal doctor, giving you daily check ups and his own prescription of how to healthily grow the baby. But while he was doing a check up during your second trimester, his eyes lite up as he told you. "Twins". Two little girls, his little angels. He was anxious as he helped you give birth, no one else was allowed in this moment. After hours and hours, little baby Cora and Rose laid in their bed together all wrapped up like burritos. The crew fell in love with the two girls, swearing to risk their lives for them. Especially uncle Sashi, Penguin and Bepo, self proclaimed uncles by the way.
Law’s a very hands on parent, being a huge helicopter parent for the first 4 years of their lives and closely monitoring their early years of development. Nothing went by without his knowledge, talking things through with you of course since you literally grew and pushed them out. He also wanted his girls to be smart and able to take care of themselves if needed, even if he was keeping a close eye on them over the first 18 years. His girls are free to develop their own interests and hobbies of course, he wasn’t that type of helicopter parent. It took a long time of reassurance from you telling him that the girls are fine and that there’s no one that can hurt them. He knows that there isn’t really anything or anyone that can harm his girls, not with him, you, the crew, and the Straw Hats around. But he’s still going to be anxious as all hell.
But he never ever had to worry about it, his twins where perfectly fine while growing up. The only problem really would be the pranks the two would pull on the crew while they grew up, being identical twins and all. You found it hilarious when they went through their creepy twin phase, especially since it worked so well of your crewmates who would always get all jumpy. Law made sure the girls grew up with at least a brief knowledge about medical care in case they needed it, both growing a interest in anything and everything medical, the sweet to the gory. It should have been a tell tail sign, the girls loved to collect dead animal bones or poke at rotting animals with sticks as kids. You obviously raised the concern with Law, but he reassured you that it's okay. Now they're talented surgeons and morticians, Law was defiantly proud but you on the other hand wished that at least one of them didn't have such a morbid interest. But they're both happy and that's all you care about in the end.
Tumblr media
This is the oddest, it being Kid and all. Kid never really expected or planned or even wanted something like a partner or kids. He liked the idea of being free and casually getting to fuck whoever and do whatever he wanted, until you joined. It was actually Killers idea, seeing you being sold off at Sabaody and telling Kid how he knew you from his younger years being known as a little freak who can basically turn any plant into median. The older boy always kept an eye on a kid like you, always wanting the best even with how you where treated just because of your gift. So Kid took it up, during the commotion he ordered Killer to grab you and take you with them. You didn't really fit in with the group, being surrounded by tall buff scary men. You where more the soft smile, the people person, the kind heart, the "Don't worry, I'll make you feel better in no time" on the crew. At first Kid hated that about you, hating that he was convinced to have some softy chick on his crew. It was only during the time of nursing him and helping him through the phantom pains of loosing his arm did he actually start to soften up. You where patent with his suborn attitude, until you'd angrily snap at him if he was actually at risk of hurting himself.
He kinda liked that you had that switch, especially seeing you so nice and happy all the time. He wouldn't admit that he had developed a little crush on you, it didn't get any better. His brain skyrocketed and his crush grew in an instant during a drunken hookup, his brain short circuiting at how much of a secret sex Goddess you are. Taking him so well, saying and doing all the right things, being able to make him finish many times with just your hands and mouth. Sure sex isn't the number one important thing in a relationship, it was the fact that a sweet girl like you had a dark side, and he was in love. He would have been happy keeping his crush to himself and making you just a fuck buddy...until you told him that he got you pregnant. He accepted his fate now, he couldn't bring himself to demand you to get an abortion. He later thanks his previous choice, seeing you with his son. "REX!". "Rex? Like...a dog?". "IT'S A COOL AS FUCK NAME!". And that's how your son got his name, Rex. He wanted a cool tough name for his boy. He felt so proud to have a son, and a son that looked like a tiny clone of himself. He loved to keep him around, loving to watch his son do dumb shit. When he got a little older Rex would try picking fights with the other pirates on board, throwing shit and screaming. He loved his kid, Kid loving his kid.
The two would get scolded by you a lot, saying that Kid is going to raise a violent child who will be swearing by the time he's 10. Or if you'd ask them to do something and yell at you. "SHUT UP BITCH!". "YEAH BITCH". "I'm sorry, what did you two just call me?". You'd ask them with a sweet smile, the two going white in the face and muttering apologies. Not like you where absent, you where the more strict parent. Making him eat his vegetable's, go to bed on time, shower, do homework you gave him, brush his teeth, the normal stuff. The topic of marriage or even being in a relationship never came up, mainly because neither of you felt the need to. He always came to you for his sexual needs or any none asking for comfort. Neither of you went with anyone else, no sex from anyone or anything, just there for each other. You two where basically married, but never even became boyfriend and girlfriend. Not even any 'oh we should get legally married to make it feel more normal for Rex' but no. Rex understood that his parents where different, but that they still loved each other. Kid didn't need some paper or a ring to say "She's mine" when his actions showed that.
Rex was already an interesting kid, growing more and more into his dad. But just like you, he had his other side. Well instead of a dark side it was a light side. He knew how he should act in public so he'd always use what his mother had taught him to his advantage to get what he wants. Even going into making stuff like his dad and being able to sell trash for high prices, being a very charming and persuasive young business man. Little ass hat, but you and Kid still being very proud of him. You're just proud he's getting his own money and not having to beg you and Kid for money, Kid is happy that Rex has taken up his interest in making shit and being able to make tones of cash for a piss poor effort. All in all, Kid was actually an amazing dad for Rex. He was a lot more caring and loving that expected, having his little clone by his side till the day that Rex has old enough to take care of himself and fly on his own.

How would they confess to you ?
(Luffy, sanji, zoro, Buggy, law)
Tumblr media
Luffy
Tumblr media
I think Luffy would be very straightforward with his confession, he wouldn't want to beat around the bush or cause any confusion. He would be very clear about his feelings for you and how much you mean to him. He might not be the most romantic person in the world but he would try his best to show you how much he cares about you and how important you are to him.
He might start by saying something like, "You know, I've been really enjoying our time together, and I have to say...I'm starting to fall for you!" Then, he might add, "Oh, who am I kidding, I've completely fallen for you! You're the only person who can make me smile like this and I never want that to go away." He might even end his confession with, "So, wanna be my treasure?"
Sanji
Tumblr media
Well, Sanji might not confess right away, but he might start with subtle hints. He might drop little compliments or flirt a lot more. He would also make an extra-special meal to impress you. Eventually, he might get up the courage to tell you how he feels, and he would say something like "You're so beautiful and kind, it's hard not to have a crush on you"
That's true! Sanji does like to flirt, but he's also very respectful of women and their boundaries. He wouldn't push if you said no, but he might be a bit... persistent... if you said maybe, or said you wanted to get to know him better before making a decision. He might ask you more questions about yourself and your interests, or try to impress you with his cooking or fighting skills. But he wouldn't force you into anything, even if he does really like you
"I love your smile, and your laugh. Your eyes sparkle like jewels and your hair is like the sun on a sunny day. You're strong and brave, and you don't let anything stop you. I want to be the person who makes you smile the most in the whole world. My heart is yours; will you please accept it?"
Zoro
Tumblr media
The way I envision it, he'd confess during a time of quiet, peace, and contemplation. He'd be hesitant, nervous, probably even a little awkward in his own way, but he'd do it without hesitation because it's what he's feeling. He'd want it to be genuine and sincere, and maybe it'd even be a spur-of-the-moment decision. If it's a more emotional moment, his swords might even be discarded to the side, as a symbolic gesture
*deep breath*" Oi. You know it's me, right? There's something I wanna get off my chest. It's not easy for me to put it into words. I don't know if I'm making sense... But here goes. I kinda like you- like like you. A lot. I think I've felt this way for a while now, but I haven't been able to say it. I know it's a lot to just say out loud, and it feels a bit... reckless. But I gotta just get it out. I like you."
Buggy
Tumblr media
Buggy likes to present himself as powerful and intimidating. But deep down he's just an insecure guy who worries about what others think of him. In a private setting with someone he trusts, I think Buggy would be a lot more honest and open about his feelings. But he would still do it his own way, maybe in a roundabout way without actually saying the words "I love you".
I think Buggy would be very loyal and protective in a relationship, and he'd make sure that his partner knows that he values their connection deeply.
He would be careful not to say anything overly cheesy or melodramatic. He might try to lighten the mood with a joke, or compliment you in a way that makes you feel special and important to him. He would probably try to impress you with his strength and courage, and show off his abilities as a fighter and leader.
He would probably also be quite thoughtful and sweet, and show that he really cares about your well-being and happiness. But he wouldn't want to be too vulnerable or emotional, so he would likely try to keep things light and playful.
"So.. I.. err.. *cough* you're the most beautiful and amazing person I've ever met. (Turns all red) *cough* I mean... err... you're not too bad I guess. (Tries to smile) Wanna.. err.. be my partner.. I mean... umm... *cough* wanna be my romantic partner? Yeah, that's it. *cough* That was a joke, right? Right?"
Law
Tumblr media
Law is the type to give subtle hints that he likes someone while keeping his feelings under wraps. If you like him too, you'd probably have to make a move first. He's the type to deny his feelings until the moment they're expressed. He has a hard time displaying his emotions, although he's quite a warm person internally.
If you confess he would probably be stunned at first. He wouldn't expect this to happen. However, once he processes what's occurred, he would probably say something along the lines of "Oh... hmm. Is that so?" His expression would definitely display his surprised and potentially pleased state. Though, he'll probably keep his answer brief and ambiguous. But the slightly blush and smirk on his face dont lie...

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
➤ Luffy
Naive of you to think that you would need to go to Luffy, the moment you appear on the deck with an orange for your snack, your boyfriend is already on top of you with his arms wrapped around your waist and drooling all over the fruit.
“Hey (y/n), did you get it for me?” He would ask laughing as you huffed at his insatiable hunger.
“No, for me, why would I get it for you?” You said feigning anger with a pout on your lips.
“Because…” Luffy made a hurt face, with big puppy dog eyes and a truly hurt pout. “Because you are my boyfriend and your duty is to feed me!” He said irritated and rocking you in his arms.
You just laughed, Luffy almost never called you his boyfriend, only at appropriate times for him, like now. The boy might have an airhead, but he knew that using titles like that would make you melt and fulfill his every desire.
“That goes for you too” you snorted, offering him the orange “You’re also my boyfriend so you should feed me too” you said laughing at his logic, but still finding it cute.
Luffy just let you go and took the orange in his hands, you were distracted to answer something to Usopp and took your eyes off the boy. Soon you felt him poking you and when you turned around you found Luffy offering you half of the peeled orange.
"Here! Now we’re even, you fed me and I fed you!” He said laughing as he stuffed half of the orange into his mouth and ran off to do something else.
Simply leaving you there with half an orange in your hand, red cheeks and a racing heart. Besides, of course, the obvious certainty that you loved Luffy.
➤ Sanji
It's impossible for Sanji to leave you hungry, he has a biological clock that works solely to always give you treats and small snacks between important meals. It's easier for you to get tired from eating so much than to actually get hungry around this man, especially when you're his boyfriend, and therefore his number one priority.
You had just helped Nami and received one of her precious oranges as a reward, so you decided it was a good snack until lunch time that was approaching. You entered the kitchen and sat at the counter, placing your orange there so you could eat.
“Do you need anything my beloved (y/n)-kun?” Sanji asked, looking at you over his shoulder as he continued preparing for lunch.
“No, I just wanted to stay here with you for a while” you answered him with a smile, Sanji didn't usually let you help him with most of the main meals, he said that the pressure of having to finish the meal on time for everyone was bad for your skin. He would prefer that you could cook calmly and calmly, making meals without a delivery date. That's why you usually only watched him cook the main meals, already knowing that he would refuse your help.
“You are so lovely Mon ange, I am so lucky to have you” he said, sighing dramatically with heart eyes as he turned to you with a lovestruck face, he quickly noticed your orange with curious eyes. "An orange?"
“Huh? Oh yes, I was helping Nami and she gave me one” you explained to him, knowing that he would be curious that you had a snack that he didn't give you.
Before any other movement was made, you heard Nami calling you on the main deck urgently. You huffed angrily and got up, telling Sanji that you would be right back while he opened the kitchen door to resolve whatever situation they needed from you.
When you came back a few minutes later, sitting at the counter again, you noticed that your orange was gone. You looked around looking for the fruit, it wasn't anywhere else on the counter, nor on the table, nor had it fallen on the floor or anywhere nearby.
“Sanji? Have you seen my orange?” You asked, not remembering taking the fruit with you.
“Just a moment my dear” Sanji said, still fiddling with something with his back to you. Confused, you followed his order and waited in silence.
Then your blonde boyfriend turned around and handed you a plate with your orange, but very different from the orange you had initially left. Now it was completely cut and all the pieces separated, that white part that you always complained about was gone and the slices were positioned to form a heart, in addition to, of course, a toothpick stuck into them with a heart design on top.
“You already work so much with those idiots, you shouldn't tire your beautiful male hands…” Sanji said and quickly fell silent, you felt like he was going to say a perverted sentence but he held himself back to keep the moment cute.
“Ah, Sanji, this is so cute” you said, observing the dish that was so well crafted, you hadn't even asked him and yet he did everything as if it were his duty. “Thank you for that love,” you said smiling at him.
Sanji stared at you in silence for a few minutes with flushed cheeks and a shy smile... and then he lost control.
“Ah, my dear (y/n)-kun! Please don't waste your compliments on me! Oh, you are such a kind man! A true gentleman! I could do anything you want my beloved prince! I will serve you all the days of my life and protect your beautiful strong manly body! Oh you are so sexy my dear (y/n)-kun! You are the most handsome man on the entire planet, I am so lucky to be your boyfriend! Please marry me and be my husband!”
You didn't even need to react as Zoro entered the kitchen yawning. “Can you stop being gay, cook? There are people wanting to have lunch”
“Who are you calling gay you little shit?!” Sanji shouted angrily.
“You, man-kisser,” Zoro shot back angrily.
“Listen here, the only man I kiss is my beloved (y/n)-kun and I would rather die than kiss anyone other than him!”
“Still a man-kisser” You decided to ignore them fighting while you ate your oranges… Sanji might be a bit exaggerated but you knew he loved you and you loved him even more.
➤ Zoro
You plopped down next to your boyfriend, sitting next to him against the ship. He complained with a huff about you disturbing him in his nap, since you were practically lying on top of him. So he decided to open his eyes to see what you were doing.
There you were smiling as you held an orange in your lap, you looked beaming as you shouted something to Luffy and Chopper in the distance on the other side of the ship.
"What is that?" Zoro asked about his fruit.
“Hmm? Snack” you said smiling childishly “Sanji gave it to me when I said I was hungry, cool right?” You said excitedly, when it came to eating you were always happy.
But the mention of the cook made Zoro lose all the excitement he gained seeing his cuteness, what was that stupid cook thinking? Sure, Sanji practically hated men and would never be with one, but you were still Zoro's boyfriend! Sanji couldn't just be nice to you like that! That was only the swordsman's right!
You seemed to ignore your boyfriend's instant bad mood, you didn't usually care about Zoro's jealousy, always saying that he exaggerated too much sometimes. Not that it was a lie, but that didn't stop him from feeling jealous. He snorted thinking about millions of things, did you like the cook more because of his kindness?
While you were distracted screaming and talking to your captain about something stupid, Zoro stole the orange from your lap and started peeling the fruit as best he could, after all his anger told him to throw that fruit into the ocean or else throw it at the head of that idiot blonde.
When you stopped talking and went to get your fruit you noticed it was missing, you immediately became desperate for having lost your snack. “Zoro, have you seen my orange?!” You asked looking at your boyfriend, had Luffy caught her while you were distracted?
When you looked over at Zoro, you found him offering you a piece of orange, which was now peeled in his lap and he was separating the slices.
“Huh? Why is this out of nowhere?” You asked curiously, of course Zoro also had his moments of kindness, but you thought there was something behind this action today.
"Do you want it or not? I thought you liked gentle men” he said irritably as his face turned red and a frown formed on his face.
“Huh?” You had to think for a few seconds, but soon you connected all the dots. “Oh! Were you jealous of Sanji? Oh, aren’t you a cute boyfriend?”
"Shut up idiot!" Zoro shouted as he angrily shoved the piece of orange into your mouth, forcing you to chew and swallow the fruit.
You continued laughing as Zoro cursed you and tried to make you swallow all the orange he peeled for you. Whether he was trying to feed you or kill you, you didn't know.
“Sanji! Zoro is trying to kill (y/n) by choking on an orange!” Luffy shouted, amused by the scene.
“Zoro, stop wasting my orange!” Nami shouted angrily at him.
In the end Zoro decided that he would be the one to bring you snacks, every time you went too long without eating he would show up with something stolen from the kitchen. He had to make sure he marked his territory and let you know he could be gentle too.

Omg girlie hey!!! How have you been?!!? Good I hope <3
Send me an event request!
Characters: gn reader x Ace, Zoro, Sanji, Luffy Total word count: 650
Teaching Moments
Ace
Literally so patient and such a good teacher but works you to the bone. He forgets that you are new at this and he has been training since he was born.
Hand-to-hand combat isn’t necessarily your strong suit, but he figures out you're quite good with a pipe.
He is also very good at fighting with a pipe (is there anything this man is bad at?!?!)
He won’t pull punches or go easy on you just because he loves you. You will crawl away from your training sessions with bruises and cuts all over your body.
After your sessions, he’ll walk with you to Marco to get healed up, and then he’ll give you a really nice, warm massage to loosen up your muscles. That alone makes your training day worth it.
You sometimes feel like you’re not making any progress, but when you start fighting people who aren’t Ace, you realize you’re much better than most of them. Fighting the best of the best really has its perks.
Zoro
Zoro is a good teacher…most of the time.
He gets frustrated easily when you don’t follow instructions, and expects you to come in with basic sword skills, but you don’t have any.
You have to remind him that not everyone grew up in a dojo, where they learned about swords morning, noon, and night. After he learns that, he takes you back to the beginning, teaching you in a new light.
He returns to the bamboo stick and the formations, and suddenly he becomes happier, laughing more with you and telling you about his childhood at the dojo. Every skill you learn is paired with a “Well when I was a kid…” story, and it warms your heart.
He takes you to a store to get your own swords. He definitely believes that you need to pick your own sword. He gives you pointers and advice, but he mostly leaves it up to you. He knows how important of a decision it is, and he won't interfere with fate.
He takes it easy on you. He can skillfully decipher just how much he needs to pressure you to get you to continue to grow.
Zoro doesn't understand much in his life, but he does understand two things: swords and you.
Sanji
Sanji. Bless his heart. He is not a good teacher.
He goes too easy on you and treats you like you’re too fragile.
It actually begins to put a bit of a strain on your relationship because it feels like he doesn’t think you’re capable of fighting the way he does.
In reality, he just doesn’t think a lady needs to fight. And he certainly doesn’t want to hurt you during training. He can’t hit a lady, even to defend himself.
He wants you to learn, and you know he’s not being rude or malicious, but in order to save your relationship, you end up finding another fighting instructor.
Instead of fighting, you help him prepare meals. And thankfully, he’s more than happy to let you help him do kitchen prep.
Luffy
Luffy is…Luffy.
Your training sessions always start out strong. He’s surprisingly good at giving you pointers (“raise your elbow” or “a right hook would’ve been better than a direct attack right there”)
Sometimes he forgets that not everyone has gum-gum powers. He’ll advise you to fling your body towards your opponents and you’ll just kind of deadpan and wait for him to realize his mistake, which always leads to a fit of giggles from you both.
Training sessions never last long. You guys always get distracted by someone or something, or you all get hungry or start chasing each other around, laughing and playing another game.
It’s always fun, you’re just never sure how much you’re actually learning. Sometimes you get irritated and think neither of you are taking it seriously, but Luffy’s way of life is “if it’s not fun, we shouldn’t do it”.
Little do you realize, he’s actually training you through the games you all play, and the mischief you guys get into. He’s a pretty good teacher overall.

MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
If anyone asked what you did, it would feel like you were just a minor part of the crew, presumptuous, even, but things were different when they saw you actually get in action. In the first place, you wrote. You were a writer, author of some great novels that spreaded across the Grand Line, and secondly, you now were a Strawhat who kept a log of the crew’s adventures and fought when needed. The day Luffy recruited you was still fresh in your mind.
"So you’re a writer? You wrote all of this?" Luffy had asked thoughtfully with a hand on his chin as he eyed the piles of books. "Riiight... I need someone to write it down when I become the King of the Pirates! The news’ people always tell things wrong! Come with us!"
A smile traced your lips as you shook your head, now working on the illustration of the last island you'd been to, adding details and a little color. Sure wasn't the best drawing, but you still wanted to keep some sort of reminder from the lovely place.
The soft knock on the door came as it usually did, religiously, and there wasn't even the need for an answer before the door swung open. The click of shoes against the ground resonated through the small office-bedroom as he approached you and finally set the tray on the free space of the desk. Your and his cups were filled with hot tea as they were every night, the flavor declared by the strong smell that came along with the steam escaping from the drink.
"A lot of work today?" Sanji asked you as he took a seat on the armchair, crossing his legs.
"Not really." You shook your head. "We've been in the open sea for a couple of days already, so I'm just updating some old stuff." The drawing you showed him had been finished earlier, already properly inked and depicting part of the crew interacting at the island.
Sanji raised his eyebrows and slowly nodded, a smile decorating his face. "Does it still give you time to work on your personal stuff, though?" He took the unlit cigarette off between his lips and slipped it back into its case that belonged to the pocket on the inside of his blazer, which he ended up taking off and folding to leave it across the armchair’s arm.
“Sort of.” You shrugged a little. “I use a lot of my free time to work on it. It only gets difficult to manage when we’re down to things like when in Spypiea, Sabaody or Marineford. Even afterwards, I still need a couple of weeks to organize everything, interview you guys and stuff. We genuinely go through a lot of stuff, and you only realize it’s that much when you need to register it all down!” You chuckled a little, throwing your arms above yourself to stretch with a soft sigh. “My priority is to keep the crew’s log, though!”
“Oh? Not your career?”
“Of course not!” You shook your head. “You guys are wonderful people who once saved me and now we take care of each other. I can’t let you die—all of this die—without the story being properly told. It’s a great responsibility to keep a record of the adventures...” The words trailed off until you were lost in your thoughts instead, but you just shook your head and closed the few books you had opened after you marked all the pages, leaving untouched only the one that had the drying watercolor. Carefully, you took the still warm cup in hand, inhaling the sweet and rich smell of the tea. “Fruit?”
“Something from that island, but a fruit, indeed,” he justified, momentarily standing up so he could also get his tea. “I haven’t tried it yet, thought it would be best for the both of us to have it together. It’s important to me.”
“What if it’s bad?” You joked,  turning your chair so you could face him.
“Then we throw it out the window and you write down how terrible it was so we never try it again!” He clicks his tongue in a feigned annoyance that has both of you laughing until forced to fall quiet to finally try the drink. “Well, I actually like it! You?”
You took a sip of the tea, giving yourself a moment to analyze the taste. “Good! Still not better than my favorite, but it’s still something!” The comment brought a grin to Sanji’s face as both of you shared a look.
Silence filled the room again quite comfortably, allowing you to hear the waves crashing outside. You took a look out the window and then at the clock on the table. “Who’s on the night watch today?” It’d been a while since you last left your room, probably only having done so for dinner during the last hours because Sanji wouldn’t leave you alone otherwise.
“That’s me!” His voice didn’t carry the same excitement as his face did as he looked into the cup.
“Want some company?” You offered. “I’m always up until late messing with my things, either—”
“Don’t think about it!” Sanji shook his free hand as he took a sip of the tea. “You had to wake up early today and take care of your writing this whole time, so you better have a good night of sleep! I know how those can be tiring! Mentally tiring!”
“Sanji!” You furrowed your eyebrows with a pout, but ended up just rolling your eyes once he shot you a glare, compelling him to snicker. A sigh escaped your lips as you leaned back on the chair. “I just wanted to keep you company. I want to show you some story ideas along with some drawings! Your night watch wouldn’t be so boring.”
“As much as I like your company, your rest comes first. I promise I’ll come check out all of that stuff tomorrow, okay? Besides, keep that night energy for when it’s your turn for the night watch!” Sanji lectured you despite the unfazed look you shot him before rolling your eyes—it was almost as if you weren’t the one who would take care of him during the night, either telling him to go to bed already when he cooked until too late or throwing a blanket over his shoulders because he fell asleep in the galley.
You were the first one to finish the drink, putting your empty cup away and wetting the watercolor again until Sanji stood up and placed his cup back on the tray as well.
“Don’t forget to go to sleep,” Sanji said, his face a few inches away from yours as he bent down with a hand on the back of the chair. “I’ll come here and put you to sleep if I notice you’re awake!”
“It’s not happening,” you promised him with a smile.
“Great!” Sanji wrapped an arm around your shoulders in a hug you awkwardly returned as you could, with a hand on his shoulder whilst leaning into his touch. He took the tray in hand so he could leave, wishing you a good night. His blazer was still on the armchair; you shook your head with a chuckle.
The next day, Sanji was still awake when you had breakfast. You quietly observed him swooning over Robin and Nami despite how tired he was, but your attention was on catching up with Luffy, Chopper, Franky, Brook and Usopp. Most of the day, you were locked in your office, reading in the library or drawing one of the tables on the desk, so they wouldn’t lose the opportunity of talking with you during the meals to know what you’d done so far. They loved to see the drawings of themselves, no matter how they were, always bugging you to take a look at something even on days you took off to yourself, so it was easy to spent the morning with them and later talk with Robin and Nami as well, not forgetting to go up to the Crow’s Nest for at least a few minutes to spot Zoro on a rep or two while chatting.
A little after lunch, Sanji knocked on your room’s door. “Hell, I’m really tired!”
You glanced away from your papers to see him kick off his shoes before collapsing on your bed face-first, grabbing one of the pillows to rest his head on, sort of hugging it. “Did you take a nap? You left your blazer here last night, by the way!”
“Oh, so that’s where it was this whole time, thank you! And no! I ended up preparing breakfast during the night then prepared lunch after breakfast was served,” he explained, muffled by the pillow until he turned his head to face you.
“Should’ve tried to get some sleep.” You sighed, dipping your pen in ink again.
“It’s not like that,” he groaned. “I left some food ready just in case, though, just so I can rest now. I thought I’d come talk to you first since I promised.”
You furrowed your eyebrows as you looked at the cook, pausing so you could ruffle his hair, which made him close his eyes for a moment. “Nonsense. You could’ve just gone to sleep, I’d understand it! You don’t need to sacrifice yourself.”
“Shhh, I promised.” Sanji narrowed his eyes a little. “Tell me, what did you want to show me?”
“Right... First of all, I had some retouches on the drawings I’d made for Sabaody, so I wanted you to take a look at them to make sure I’m not forgetting anything,” you mumbled while you flipped to the pages where the drawings were and handed the book to him. Through time, your chat grew slower, with sporadic and distant answers coming from Sanji until you looked at him and noticed he was actually asleep. The sight made a small smile stretch your lips before you went back to working quietly as always.
A knock on the door pulled you away from your thoughts and you looked back to see Nami’s head peeking him from the slightly-open door. “Hey, (y/n), have you seen—” She looked around for a little and fell silent.
“Seen what?”
“Actually, nevermind!” She shot you a smile. “Sorry for interrupting!”
“No worries!” You smiled, waving as she quietly closed the door once again.
The new island was filled with casinos, clubs, markets and stores with the most peculiar things that had a great part of the crew voting to stay for longer than a day since there weren’t any worries that tied you down to dates or time. Usopp, Sanji, Nami and Robin seemed excited about a particular club after you took a look at it while getting to know the city, so they invited you and Brook and it was almost impossible to refuse; you easily found yourself getting ready in front of the mirror before you left to go wait for the others with Nami and Usopp. Sanji was the last to show up, covering Nami and Robin with compliments that they already learned not to give much attention to, instead already moving to leave the ship.
“You’re looking extra good today, (y/n)!” Nami smiled, hooking her arm with yours and discreetly distancing from the rest of the group with you. “Trying to catch someone’s attention?”
“Maybe?” You chuckled. “It’s been a while since we last stopped at such a nice island, so I thought a one-night thing isn’t gonna hurt!”
Nami blinked a couple of times. “One-night thing?”
“No new crewmates!” You shook your head, contributing more to Nami’s confused look, which you also didn’t quite understand.
She hummed, looking away for a long moment. “Um, and Sanji?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well...” She breathed and shrugged a little, about to say something when she was hit on the back of the head by something and it was enough for her mood to change completely. Her teeth were gritted and eyes practically white while a vein popped on her temple as she slowly looked back to see the three men stand there quietly, pale, ready for the shouting that promptly came from her along with hits. Robin brought a hand to her mouth as she chuckled, and you sweatdropped, continuing to walk.
The night was long. You’d drunk, not a lot to do things you regretted, but enough to rather easily accept hanging out with people you’d just met, exploring the city and talking bullshit.
“Just a little longer,” the girl said as she waved at you and the two other people that trailed behind, carefully walking through the woods until you made it to a rock on top of a mountain. “It’s gonna be there.” She pointed to a spot behind the mountains of another island in the distance, where it was already lighter and it did seem like the sun would start rising in a few minutes, just as she had promised.
Even with little to help, the four of you made yourselves comfortable on the cold rock; you used one of the guys’ sweatshirt as a makeshift pillow, observing the sky quietly while they talked with each other. Despite the alcohol still in your system, what made you groggy was mostly the lack of sleep.
“Hey,” the girl said as she lay down next to you, on her side, holding herself up with an elbow. “Do you... Okay, I won’t waste time. Can I kiss you?”
You almost choked on your spit, your cheeks immediately growing warm at the question that sent your thoughts racing. At first, all you could do was sputter half words, unable to connect thoughts, until she chuckled and you decided to take a deep breath. “Okay, so, um... I’m... Well, not right now. Actually, I like someone else, a lot. I can’t picture myself kissing another person.”
“Oh. That sucks,” she sighed. “You look really nice, but I don’t think you’re staying around for long, anyways. Say more, though. Tell me about who you like.”
The time your cheeks heated up again was for another reason, with a softer feeling stirring in your chest. “He’s... I think he doesn’t like me, y’know? He’s a real flirt, but not with me. I feel like we are just great friends and it ends there. We are really close, but not the sort of close I wish it were.”
“Did you even tell him you like him?” She raised an eyebrow and you shook your head. “You should!”
“I don’t want it to hurt.” You smiled a little, but without humor.
She furrowed her eyebrows a little as if she understood your situation. “Well, maybe hurting is not a bad thing. It makes you stronger, and it would make you free to kiss other people!” She started to chuckle at the same time you did so, shaking your head a little.
You had a hand over your brow line to keep a shadow over your eyes while your shoes hung from your other hand when you returned to the ship later that same day, already tired and feeling like you’d never get back to Sunny, feeling as if you’d been run over a thousand times. All you could do once you arrived back to the ship was to sleep, only waking up again when it was already late in the afternoon, mumbling something about something being different in your bedroom before you could go for a shower.
“Whoa, look at who’s alive!” Usopp announced once you walked out to the deck, attracting a lot of pairs of eyes to you.
“Good night?” Zoro teased with a chuckle. “Even forgot you had a home!”
You rolled your eyes, shaking your head as you took a seat at a table with Robin. “Shut up, Zoro, you don’t even know how to get home by yourself!”
Given how you’d practically slept all day long, you decided to change turns with Robin and take the night watch for the day. It was a nice, warm night, so you didn’t bother staying outside with your books, illustrating the island during the night. It felt like something was missing, still. You furrowed your eyebrows and looked at the galley’s direction. There was no tea that night.
Brook took over the nightwatch halfway through the night, allowing you to sleep and wake up at a reasonable hour in the morning. Nami was the first person you ran into once you left your room, happy for finally feeling well after partying all night a day before. “Nami!”
“Oi, (y/n)!” She smiled as she approached you. “Good morning!”
“Morning!” You smiled in return. “Have you seen Sanji? He didn’t bring me tea yesterday. Actually, I didn’t see him at all, now that I think about it.”
Nami’s face fell in a way you didn’t really like, almost taking a step back as you watched her. “Hm, you see...” She sighed, with a hand on her hip. “You didn’t come back to the ship that night, so he was worried. He even tidied up your room so you didn’t need to do anything when you arrived.”
“Right...? Explains a lot.”
“And he thought you were with someone else. Like, hooking up.”
“I wasn’t but...” You shrugged. “What’s up with that?”
The expression across Nami’s face was the same as when she had seen Luffy let himself fall for Usopp’s lies for the first time. “That made him feel bad.”
“Sanji and I aren’t something, Nami.” You furrowed your eyebrows, reminded of the talk you had with the island’s residents that night.
Nami seemed as if she would explode. “Well, maybe he wishes there were?”
“I—”
“(Y/n), Sanji likes you!” She just gave up with a sigh, taking a quick look around before she continued. “He adores you! He doesn’t flirt with people anymore, he just compliments and does things for them because he’s always believed he needed to, mainly to women! Still, he doesn’t make tea for everyone, every night! He doesn’t stay up until late for anyone or makes them company during the night! I’ve never seen Sanji leave his clothes anywhere else rather than in the male quarters! Besides, he keeps one of your novels and a picture with you under his pillow! I saw it!”
That was a lot to take in. You didn’t know Sanji treated you differently in that sense, in the first place, let alone know that he liked you. It made sense now that you thought about it, of course, because he wouldn’t be spending the same amount of time with the others as well if he was there making you company for most of the day. Some nights, he would be there asleep on your bed while you worked on your books.
“Sorry,” Nami exhaled. “I really didn’t want it all to fall upon you suddenly like this, but you needed to know it already! Sanji doesn’t deserve this! Either reject him already or take care of him. He deserves someone to love him.”
You quickly nodded. “I know.”
Not a lot needed to be said. There wasn’t a lot to be said. You looked at Nami a last time before you walked right back into your room, taking a deep sigh as her words still echoed through your mind, each of them connected to a memory you held and you couldn’t help but to feel a weight in your chest—Sanji must’ve felt terrible when he noticed you disappeared at the club after you refused to dance with him so you could leave with your new friends. It would be easy to fix, at least theoretically, because your stomach churned at the thought of facing Sanji right now.
Your morning wasn’t a lot different from the others, locked in your room and staring at a white page, but the purpose of your writing was different this time. Your feelings were going to be spilled, bleeded all over a page without any filter or restriction because they needed to be understood so no one would be hurt anymore. In the end, it was beautifully folded and with Sanji written in your gold ink while sealed with wax.
Sanji was serving breakfast and chatting around, out on the deck—you double checked—when you sneaked into the galley and left the paper in a safe place, where you knew he’d find it. Hell, it was pathetic. You needed to declare your feelings through a little letter because you didn’t have the guts to face the guy yourself after unintentionally hurting his feelings. In your defense, writing was the best thing you could do.
At the same time it was relieving, you could feel anxiety bubbling under your skin. The situation would slip away from your mind at times, but at others, you felt like Sanji would show up out of sudden saying that you were going crazy. Hopefully not.
When it was night, however, the knock finally came, as it always had done before, without missing a single day, for months straight. You tensed up this time, letting him walk in and watching the tray be placed on the free space of your desk—you didn’t even know when it became instinctive to leave that side clear for the tray. Aside from the mugs, this time, there was a bite-sized sweet as well, your favorite.
“I read it.” Sanji’s voice was small, practically vulnerable. His hand was shaking when it retreated from the tray.
“Sanji—”
“I’m sorry I just concluded things!” He cut in quickly.
You furrowed your eyebrows, turning on your chair, but he didn’t meet your eyes, instead looking at the ground. “No, you did nothing wrong! I should’ve paid more attention, I just... I wasn’t communicative enough as well...” You couldn’t find the right words, express the right things, so you took a pause, standing up. He didn’t take a step back when you approached. “I’m sorry, Sanji. Don’t leave me, please. Nami helped me realize things. Sorry for the time we lost.”
Sanji was almost in the same state, with thoughts roaming around his mind without order, but lacking the courage to be voiced, though he knew he couldn’t lose the opportunity—he couldn’t lose you. “(Y/n).”
“I love you, Sanji. I know I’ve told you this before, but now I mean it in another way.”
Sanji’s face was impossibly red. His hand twitched as he reached out to you; it was as if you two were sparkles searching for each other, looking for the right time to go off, which happened exactly when you took his hand in his and let him pull you closer in a tight hug.
“I love you,” he mumbled in response, and it almost felt as if you’d explode, with your heart skipping beats and fluttering in your chest, not even knowing what it does.
It was a relief, really. A relief and a sea of happiness simultaneously because your doubts and anguishes were extinguished at the same time you were finally able to do what you’ve longed for for so long. You let your nose brush against his before your lips met. The taste and smell of tobacco was undeniable, but it still didn’t erase the fact his lips were soft, returning the care and want that you felt for him.
Sanji seemed giddy, blushing and flustered, but also excited to the point he almost didn’t know what to do with himself. He pulled you with him to sit down on the bed and took a look at you, grinning wide before taking your hands in his; he left kisses all over your knuckles then did the same over your face, needing to pause to smile because of how you giggled, and your lips were pressed together again.
You had to place a hand on his chest so you were able to pull away, climbing on the bed properly to push him down and straddle his hips, taking a moment to observe him look at you with wide eyes. “You’re beautiful,” you whispered, still feeling your heart beat strongly in your chest. Sanji’s cheeks felt warm against your palms when you cupped his face, caressing his cheeks and carefully brushing his bangs away from his face; he swallowed dryly, but never stopped you, hands placed over yours softly. “I love you, Sanji!”
Sanji’s mouth opened and closed a couple of times without saying anything until he finally said it once again. “I love you.” There wasn’t a ‘too’ because his love was independent of yours, he loved you and would do it even if you didn’t love him back. He grinned as the excitement bubbled up in his chest, making him feel all giddy again, in a way it was even hard to contain himself when you leaned in for a kiss once more.

I need anyone who genuinely dislikes Usopp to take a long look in the mirror because yeah, he can be a bit annoying at times but he is honestly a good and interesting character!!
He is just as loyal as any other member of the crew and fights the strongest when he’s fighting on someone else’s behalf. (See: him fighting for Sanji in Skypeia, fighting for Robin at Eneis Lobby, fighting for Luffy in Dressrosa, fighting for Tama and Nami in Wano.) He is a major player in so many of the battles in the series that it baffles me that people can think of him as an unimportant member of the crew.
And Usopp is a fucking genius??? Hello???? He’s able to make weapons powerful enough to create storms and tornadoes. He is canonically a jack-of-all trades that supports the crew in their daily lives and in battle. The Going Merry only lasted as long as she did because Usopp was around to care for her. He was the only one to see her Klabauterman!! Usopp is not only creative and fun but is able to bring those creations to life, whether it be his drawings or his gadgets, and I think that’s so beautiful. I miss pre-TS because of all his inventions we got to see.
Let’s not forget that Usopp is so, so kind!! He made friends with the kids in his village and told stories to Kaya to help her feel better when she was ill. He fought to protect her and Syrup Village from Kuro. Personally, I will never get over filler ep on Fireworks Island (ep. 134) where he cheered up Kodoma and encouraged her to continue her pyrotechnics, assuring that her parents were proud of her. Knowing he also lost his parents at a young age makes the scene hit that much harder. (And again, he showed his genius by figuring out a way to launch the firework that killed Kodoma’s parents!!) It may not be canon to the manga but but I think that episode is super accurate to his character.
What I think makes him the most interesting is that we see his flaws and mistakes more than any of the other Straw Hats. We see his insecurities in Water 7 and his fear in Dressrosa. But we also see him growing and learning and being encouraged by his crewmates. Aside from Robin, I think Usopp has changed and grown the most out of the Straw Hats. With his goal to become a brave warrior of the sea he has so much potential for even more growth!!
Like I said earlier, some people think Usopp is annoying which he can be sometimes, but that’s also because he’s literally comic relief. And he does so well at it bc he’s actually so damn funny?? He makes me laugh out loud all the time. One Piece wouldn’t be even half as funny without Usopp.
I also appreciate that as an individual he has so many moments with the other Straw Hats. There are a lot of relationships that don’t get explored as much as we’d like, but I think we get to see Usopp’s friendships with the crew pretty often. He fights for Luffy, plays around with Chopper, teases Zoro, is teased by Robin, gossips with Nami, hangs around Sanji, and his whole relationship with Franky has so many layers to it.
Aaahh, I have so many hopes for Usopp in the series that I pray will be fulfilled!! I want him to have a badass arc in Elbaf full of character growth. I want to see him develop and continue to use his Haki (which he gained when trying to save Luffy are you KIDDING me). I want his reunion with Yasopp to be emotional and bittersweet. If he could personally beat Yasopp in a fight I would ascend to the heavens.
Usopp is such an important, complex, and interesting character and I absolutely hate to see him reduced to being a gag character or the weakest member of the Straw Hats. He may not be a monster but he is amazing and I love him.
TLDR; if you disrespect Usopp I wish you a very Die.

Something I think about a lot is the order in which the Strawhats joined, how that affects their relationships, and how we as a fandom perceive them (this is about the Romance Dawn trio and Sanuso, by the way).
Zoro and Nami were the first two to join Luffy. The Romance Dawn trio. Luffy's first mate and Luffy's navigator. Luffy's anchor and Luffy's compass. He would not know what to do if something happened to them. And of course he loves all the Strawhats. Of course he does. But there's just something about Zoro and Nami that it's personal and intimate in a different way. It's not that they're more important to Luffy, but they're their special people. Their main two. His specialest boy and his specialest girl. Whatever. The thing is that, if we consider this inside the East Blue crew, it just makes sense that Sanuso were so close at the start.
I'm always mentioning how much I miss pre-ts Sanuso because they had more scenes together, whether I referred to background silly scenes or important, character-driven ones. But it's quite literally because they were the only two left. Let me explain:
Sanji has this thing about not wanting to take up much space. Like, his whole personality is to serve and please others, and he isn't used to taking what he wants. Usopp is an anxious mess and he thinks he doesn't deserve to be where he is because he assumes the others are stronger and better than him. They just naturally feel out of place. And they're sharing a ship and an adventure with three other people that, apart from knowing each other before meeting them, they take up so much space in the world without a care. They're shamelessly taking what they want. Slicing people in two, stealing, becoming kings. That leaves Sanji and Usopp in a place of-- Not really loneliness, that's their family now and for once they feel like they belong somewhere but, y'know, they belong without feeling like they deserve it.
I think Sanuso works so well, too, because of their numbers. Usopp was the third one to join. Sanji the fourth. Usopp joined when the Romance Dawn trio was already a thing and he actually hesitated about joining them. And Sanji then met them when they were already like, an actual crew and not just some idiots (well, they are. But y'know, at least four people is better than just two). That thing about 'three's a crowd' and all that? Well, I think there's just some sort of barrier between the Romance Dawn trio and Sanji/Usopp. Not really because, again, they have their own bonds and it works in different ways and the East Blue crew is extremely intimate but please tell me you see what I mean. The Romance Dawn trio wouldn't be a thing if I wasn't right here.
So Sanji and Usopp bond for being the third and the fourth and I think the fact that they don't feel like they belong in the place they should feel at home the most just shows that they just... Feel like they don't belong anywhere. Except when they're together. They're alone together. I think that's why they work so well.

Thank you for responding to my SP vs SN comment! Your response was more than I expected and so much appreciated. :)
One thing that really stood out to me about SN relationship was regarding Sanji fear of never being good enough for being himself. The interesting thing about Nami is that 1) she understands his kindness (her comments to his brothers) 2) she respects his values (choosing to fight Kalifa) 3) she's willing to put herself in harms way to fight for him (WCI, Water 7). It's not to say Robin or Vivi or any of the Straw Hats don't show these things but Nami definitely has some distinct examples.
Pudding and even to an extend Viola have mocked him for his weakness for women, even though both women have changed their perspective on him later. So compare to Nami, it's really hard to root for them. I think Nami might have thought he was a bit of an idiot in the beginning and may have taken advantage of him from time to time but it was never an outright mockery.
Anyway I guess what I'm trying to say it's so hard not to love these two when you really look into who they are and what they stand for. Apologies for the wall of text, I get a bit carried away when I think about these two.
No problem at all! I love talking about SaNami and One Piece and you brought up interesting points. I'm sorry if I can't answer everything straight away, tho. During week days, because of my work and college, it takes me a while to sit and write a good response. So I hope you don't mind if I delay the answers once in a while.
You are so right. I feel like Nami is one of the female character who is chosen to support and understand Sanji more than the others. Ofc, we have Robin and Vivi, like you said, but I don't think any of them has so many scenes of being suportive of Sanji like Nami does.
For example, we all know Robin understands Sanji and would be supportive of resuing him just as Luffy was, but out of the girls, Oda chose only Nami to go to Whole Cake. I also will never forget the fact how, after Sanji was taken by Capone, she seemed so worried and sad and eager to rescue him.
"Pudding and even to an extend Viola have mocked him for his weakness for women, even though both women have changed their perspective on him later."
Okay, this part actually breaks my heart. I feel really bad for Sanji in moments like this, but at the same time it just shows how much of an amazing person he is.
But yes, I don't recall Nami mocking him. She uses a bit of his weakness toward women, but she does that with everyone tbh (she's seductive, it's a part of her character). And I don't remember her being cruel nor downright disrespectful to him about it. Sometimes, his antics can annoy her who can blame her, I sometimes do think his gags are too much as well), but she never uses it to put him in harms way.
It also reminds me of Oda's SBS about how Nami chose to respect Sanji for his chivalry. It's very interesting how, instead of mocking him, she was her angry at the fact that he might get himself killed for his chivalry. And once he firmly stated he would never kick a woman, even if it killed him, she saw how much a strong-willed man he truly was.
Don't worry about the wall of text!
And yes, that's why this ship is so interesting to me. Just like Sanji treats Nami the way she likes to be treated (with care and like a princess hehe), Nami understands and accepts Sanji for who he is - the only thing she is not aware of is how important she is to him though. Besides that, both can read the other very well, and know when something is off with the other.
They are amazing, and it IS difficult not to love them. Let's ship and see what the future holds.

Rain when you're writing a longer fic or a slow burn, how do you write in the other characters life when the love interest isn't there? I did I plotline, based of what happens in each episode in the series but I always fall short on what the main character is doing or supposed to be doing 🤣 like I want to establish friendships as well outside of the love interest to give the story more depth.
putting under a cut to spare the dashes! :)
so i’m assuming you’re talking about like in a fic when the mc/reader is interacting with someone other than the LI or when the LI is interacting with someone who’s not the mc/reader, right? in that case, here’s a couple of things to keep in mind:
a lot of a relationship’s development actually happens outside of the main two ppl directly interacting with each other, right? like think about when ppl joke about a guy texting a girl, and he’s texting all her girlfriends too cause they’re all dissecting his texts and brainstorming how to text back — but it’s literally how people interact!!!
make sure that you’re writing about the characters as much as you’re writing about the relationship the characters are in/gonna be in — if the character is flat, then no one will care about if they’re in a relationship or not, right? we’re out here yodeling about fictional ppl being in fictional relationships bc we have their OTHER fictional non-romantic relationships to give us context on who they are as people/characters — how zoro interacts with sanji and nami and luffy are all very different, but they all give us insight into who he is around different types of people. and from there, you can piece out how he would be around mc/reader, depending on the kind of person she is. the reverse is also tru — how mc/reader interacts with the other canon characters will give us (the ACTUAL readers) clues into her personality, etc
sometimes, you need the comedic relief — sometimes, you need the peanut gallery! sometimes, you want the fucking ppl in the background muttering to each other about these two idiots in love who REFUSE to acknowledge their own feelings so that the audience can feel vindicated in their own !!!!!!! that mc/reader and the LI are indeed idiots!!!! right like the other characters can act as kind of like the “chorus” in a greek/roman play who echo the audience, and those interactions are super important too!
friendships are just as if not MORE important than the romantic relationship!
in the same vein, enemies/coworkers/acquaintances/teachers/etc etc etc anyone who might inhabit the world around the main character(s) orbit is and can be interesting to the story if you allow them to be. you can get some really good supporting cast in there and they might actually start to steal the show LOL (death before decaf is a good example of the ensemble cast going a bit nuts imo LOL — i had a lot of fun with that one and i think most of the length actually came from me having fun trying to picture how the op cast would fit into a college campus au)
have fun with it!!!!! it’s not that srs!!! <3

i honestly don't understand why the notion of "ship and let ship" is so alien to some people, especially to the m/m shippers. like, it's great if you ship zoro with other male characters and hc him as exclusively gay, but saying that your ship was actually intended to be romantic and then turning and calling zonami shippers delusional is simply hypocritical.
i don't know about manga and anime, so sure, maybe in manga zoro loves luffy the most and luffy is his priority or has the most chemistry with sanji... but in live action, it seems that nami means as much to zoro as luffy and sanji do. and that's because they try to make nami as important as the male characters are, so naturally her bond with other characters is not going to be downplayed.
sorry to be ranting in your ask box, just saw biphobic antis bitch about zonami on twitter 😭
YOU REALLY CAME TO MY INBOX AND DECIDED TO SPEAK THE TRUTH, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS RANT BECAUSE IT NEEDED TO BE SAID
I have a theory about a certain sector of m/m shippers (the delulus), not only from One Piece but as something that happens in other fandoms as well, and that is that usually their fanaticism is rooted in one of three things: misogyny, biphobia or a simple fetish.
I've mentioned before that one of the things that makes Zoro my favorite One Piece character is that he has the most dynamics and relationships with other characters, men and women, that I personally like. Some of them I perceive in a potentially romantic way if they were in any other story, others I don't. I ship Zoro with several people, (again) men and women, Nami is just one of them and my personal favorite. Same with her. And I know that it's my headcanon and it's almost sure none of them are going to happen. Some people have other headcanons and that's perfectly fine as well as long as they know, as I do, that they are just that. That's why it's fun! You can play with these things because nothing is set in stone!
I guess for what you say in the second paragraph that you only have watched the live action. I've said this a couple of times, Zoro and Nami's relationship in the manga is much more subtle compared to Zoro's relationships with Luffy and Sanji or Nami's relationships with Luffy and Usopp, for example. But it's there, it's there since the very beginning and it's there especially since Arlong Park.
But one thing I've never been able to understand is that this fandom is able to so lightly forget that the two of them were the first two people to join Luffy. They have been together since chapter 10 of the manga, chapter 10 of 1093 to date. Do people really believe that there is no affection and respect for each other? Do they truly think there's not a bond between them? Why is this ship so weird to them when no sexuality has been established in canon?
The biphobia is rampant in general and it shows, I'm so tired. This is kind of unrelated to OP but it makes me so angry to remember what the lgbt community itself did to Kit Connor, actor of Heartstopper, last year and what has been said about his character after the second season.
Bonus: it's also interesting what you said because I recently read someone on twitter saying that Nami was pretty much a co-protagonist during the first two sagas (East Blue and Arabasta) and no so much afterwards... and I think they might be right. It's a little bit difficult to explain and we could debate for hours about it, I'll just leave this here so you all can think about it.

I have a weird relationship with One Piece ships. Because, it’s like, I love that they are a found family and it’s practical that no one has a romantic partner, but at the same time I can see them all in a romantic relationship. idk
Ok, so first we have Luffy who I really can’t see him with anyone, he loves his family they’re all important to him. Then again, i see how he sometimes acts like he’s married to Nami and I think maybee???? Then I read Punk Hazard and Dressrossa and i was like with Law????? and then i found this thing called lusan by the great fedyth on twitter and was like they could be??? and then WCI and i they can bee!!?? then again i always remember at some point of zoro’s loyalty and that their best friends and out of nowhere my brain is like they look cute??? before watching or reading one piece i had seen some ship regarding luffy and robin but after seeing i can’t really see the appeal, like i love that luffy is robin’s reason to live but i can’t see them together together. the same with usopp and luffy, they’re just best friends in my eyes. i have seen a lot of other ships but these are the ones i can think at the moment (if you know more let me know) i still think that luffy is a person who loves way too many people in so many ways that he would’t chose one to stay with forever.
Zoro’s case happens to be similar to luffy’s because he doesn’t gets interested in just one person either. he’s very loyal to luffy, yes, and he’s his first and best friend, yes, but i can’t think in a case where those two end up together as romantically. i was thinking in people closer to zoro, starting with tashigi. i like this one very much because tashigi resembles kuina a lot and zoro had so much mixed feelings when they met. i also like to think that when zoro was little he had a little crush on kuina hence her death was even more hurtful than it actually shows and only by sheer willpower he hasn’t been in love again and then i think about sanji and is like the only one capable of getting the swordsman mad just like kuina used to. no one else makes him so mad like sanji does, and they trust each other a lot, and they understand each other like no one else understands them, and and and well i think that somehow they could get together at some point. of course, later i think all the other possibilities open in the table: there is perona, but i see her more of a little sister to zoro than a partner, there is robin who i actually shipped with zoro for a while, but then figured they had like a silent treatment to protect chopper at all costs. there is hiyori, but i can imagine all the drama it could have if it was a one sided love from her. personally i am a zosan fan, so i don’t have a lot of knowledge in zoro’s ships, tell me more if you know.
Nami’s turn. its difficul with her because she doesn’t trust people easily and doesn’t show her true feelings if they aren’t the strawhats, but that doesn’t stops me from shipping her with whoever i want. first things first, namixmoney. second, luffy and nami were, like, my first one piece ship so i will never let that down, they are very cute together and they act like a married couple just as much as they act like gremlins. another one that can easily surpass luffy is vivi, because well they’re girlfriends alright. idk, i love dearly their relationship in alabasta and all their adventures together. i did have seen that some one shipped her with tashigi, and i can see the appeal but personally i dont enjoy it as much as with vivi. i had seen her with sanji too, and personally that’s one of my favorites too, i just know nami can do whatever she wants with sanji and he will allow it. and even tho he’s a perv he will treat nami right. if you know more ships let me know.
with usopp the think is easier because for some reason he doesn’t get shipped with many people??? for example, there is usopp and luffy, that even though i said  that they were just friends, from usopp’s side they could be??? idk if im explaining right. i mean, in luffy’s case it isn’t a ship, but in usopp’s it is. ???? i dont know. a ship that i see very often is usopp x sanji, that personally i can see it and i like it a lot, but don’t think about it way too much. the ship that is like predetermined for me is usopp and kaya, like, they WILL get married alright. then again, hadn’t seen any other ship, let me know please
and here is sanji, who i ship with almost the entire cast of one piece.
instead of explaining i will give you a list, is faster:
luffyy
zoro
nami
usopp
robin
law
pedro
pudding
kinemon
cocodrile
jin
killer
bonney
carrot
ace
djfalsdjasdjfiwjflajdf (i had a list somewhere down my posts in what now is “x” (i hate it) and that thing wont let me see my posts)
anyway my mind went blank. i know there are more but i just cant remember. you know the drill. let me know more
i will leave it at that cause my god there are a lot of characters and i already feel exhausted just remembering all the ships i’ve seen. amazing how you can consume a massive wave of media in an instant.

Respond: SaNami in the New World pt. 5 (2/3) - Totto Land
First of all sorry for the delays but anyway, it’s time to return to the series where I and my fellow shippers analyze and ponder about the development of the relationship between Sanji and Nami and how it has made huge step of developments during the time they have spent in the New World.  Earlier posts that are related to these series are the following:
Fishman Island, Punk Hazard, Dressrosa, Zou and Totto Land (1/3).  All of these arcs are full of possible hints and moments that could lead Sanji and Nami become actual canon as a pair.
As another disclaimer (because shipping wars are always on), these thoughts are just one opinion in thousands seas and made from one point of view. This series aims not to bash other ships and just a friendly reminder that Oda is the one who will decide whether any canon romance will be even happening. This post will be the second part that is focusing on the Totto Land arc and happenings from chapters  859 (from the aftermath of Luffy vs Sanji until the “grand finale part 1″ which is basically finding out about Pudding’s other side) . There will probably be still lots to talk and ponder about and again, some of these topics have been handled before either by me or other fellow fans. If there is anything important you feel that it’s missing or what I didn’t notice, feel free to toss ideas and make addition :)
Another huge shout out to my mate @pernanegra who has been an important support and help in this project! He has written his own series of analyzing SaNami hints in Oro Jackson forum (part 1, part 2 , part 3,  part 4 and part 5). Unfortunately the site is taken down so the links don’t work :( but anyway, I highly recommend to check out pernanegra’s own Tumblr because it’s full of awesome analyzes~!
Without a doubt, this whole SaNami in the New World series wouldn’t be possible without my other amazing fellow shippers with whom I’ve discussed about these chapters. So thank you all equally and keep the flag high! <3
Tumblr media
So, after the chapter 844, the roles have significantly changed between Nami and Luffy. Probably because of the icy glare when she tried to interrupt Sanji from not beating his captain and witnessing a(nother) battle between two nakamas she is first in great disbelief and kind of questions why Luffy even would want to stubbornly wait for Sanji after getting beaten up so badly.
Like @pernanegra  said in his post: the glare was enough to tell Nami that Sanji is serious and not going with them. It’s his determination what hurts her the most and it was the last straw which lead her to slap him.
Luffy still sticks to his promise, literally ignoring even the droplets that keep falling once the rain starts. Luffy refusing the food at first glance sounds very unusual for him but when we go back to the past, like Baratie arc we start to notice that these panels below just indicate that Luffy understands deeply his friend’s pain and wants to show loyalty by this hunger strike, that he is willing to even sacrifice his own bottomless stomach just to show Sanji how important he is for Luffy and his crew (not sure if I’m writing a LuSan or SaNami post atm because this arc is perfect for both *laughs*)
We all know Nami is still disappointed and in disbelief but I think that slowly she starts understands Luffy’s behavior (that why Luffy isn’t mad or anything). Maybe she realizes that Luffy’s actions resemble the way he behaved towards her back in Arlong Park when she was felt hopeless and that deep down there Nami understands it’s no use to feel hatred against Sanji although she is definitely saddened how Sanji treated them in first reunion.
Like written in this post, Luffy interpreted the situation differently compared to Nami. He controlled his emotions whereas she took Sanji’s glare and speech much more personally and got hurt by his cold appearence.
Tumblr media
As the Whole Cake arc goes on things get much more trickier. Nami and Luffy are facing the enemy and overpowered whereas the sky keeps darkening and Sanji’s despair gets worse and he needs to find a way out. My fellow mate @ecassandrae wrote well in this post about Sanji’s personality:
A person who wasn’t loved appreciates affection much more and truly considers those who love him “saviors”, because love isn’t perceived as something natural, as it should be, but as an exception, a miracle.
So, like @ecassandrae said, because of the past traumas, Sanji sees all those people who ever made him feel like he belonged in this world as his saviors. Those people  who dragged him from misery and makes his life now meaningful.
So, not only Zeff who saved him from certain death and made the rest of Sanji’s childhood happy or Luffy who ignited Sanji’s will to chase his dream of finding All Blue but also his other crew mates has become his saviors because with them he feels appreciated and wanted.
At this point of the arc, Pudding becomes only person Sanji can lean on because he is there without his crew and him and Pudding were brought together by their families and Sanji has no clue what happened to the retrieval crew so he needs a plan and agreeing the Tea Party is now in his head the most relevant and realistic thing in order to keep the whole pack together.
Tumblr media
One thing this arc brings up is the sacrificial nature of his. Even though Luffy back in Baratie basically said that “Debts aren’t being paid by sacrifices” Sanji is back at it again. I think this speaks for it how far Sanji wants to go to protect his loved ones: that he is basically not only willing to give up on his closest friends but also on his dreams just to agree Big Mom’s deal.
Well basically he could still chase after All Blue but I’m pretty sure if this marriage happened Big Mom wouldn’t let him do whatever he or Pudding would want at that point.
Anyway, Sanji is desperated to find the solution although he knows it would require a lots of sacrifices from him but at the same time he wants to protect his saviors at all costs and he wants to believe that things will turn out good for everyone.
Tumblr media
One interesting part of this whole mess is that deep down Sanji probably knows what he is doing, at least partly. Well he is a tactician so he thinks of the plans in generals but he also knows that his captain is the most stubborn thing that exists and that even his mean words couldn’t keep Luffy away from saving his.
This is something Oda highlights in chapter 847 where Sanji is curled up on the window seat wishing that the others wouldn’t come to the wedding. In other words based on their adventures Sanji probably knows that Luffy will appear at some point there and that’s why he is distressed because his captain is very unpredictable and won’t follow the plans Sanji pictured in his head.   If he knew 100% that his crew mates would leave him to deal with this all alone, I don’t think Sanji would stress about it but he is worried about their safety a lot.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Sanji is struggling trying to find his way out of this mess,  Nami and Luffy are trapped into the cage by Big Mom. So here is one of the biggest plot twists of this arc. Pudding reveals her evil plans to Nami and Luffy  and there are 2 things that makes this part very interesting (shipwise):
1. their reactions:
Pudding’s mystery words caused lots of ruckus when the chapter came out (writte about i.e here)  and like written back in Sannami week 2022 - Day 4 - Fave Arc-post,  here is again referenced what my fellow mates wrote back then:
@pernanegra‘s thoughts: This isn’t a normal shocked expression, Nami has the “serious” eyes (female version) that the characters only use when they are tense. Luffy also has a shocked expression but his eyes are normal, not the “serious” version….”.   and @namivinsmokexsanjivinsmoke‘s thoughts: Luffy and Nami’s reaction are also somehow different. Luffy’s reaction looks more like “what have I done”, but Nami’s reaction is more like “I knew it but I just couldn’t believe it”. Her face also showed more despair because of how she is drawn. Luffy has normal color but Nami is colored darker.
Like @pernanegra said, Nami’s eyes definitely catch the attention: pupils are wide from the shock and she is wearing “unbeliavble" kind of expression while the tears are about to roll down. Luffy as well is in shock but his eyes aren’t drawn that big.
They both now know this mess is becoming even worse than they’d expected and what makes this even more stressful and awful is that they both know that Sanji is still unaware of all this and the clock is literally ticking for them.
Tumblr media
From the shipping point of view again I can’t help thinking whether her reaction at  chapter 850 (where we see what Pudding truly said) also was caused because of fear of losing someone she cares about, again.
It happened with Belmere before and Sanji’s disappearence did have similarities with Nami’s last moments with their (foster) mom so why wouldn’t she be worried? It would be awful for her to experience the same kind of loss again, even as a nakama-level.
So, what if inside her mind she started to fear that although she has full trust on her captain, what if they still can’t make it and therefore the last contact she and Sanji had would be them parting with tears and slap?
2. Where is Pudding’s eye looking at?
This was something my mate @ayumiyui pointed out in this post. It indeed is odd that Pudding who later was revealed to have a third eye was literally staring at something when she whispered the revelations to them.
Since Pudding is placed in middle of them and the third eye looks at the right side it would be very logical to say she’ll stare at Nami. The reason why she does this remains a mystery.
Shipwise we could guess that maybe Pudding knows that Nami has some interest in Sanji since back then when they first met at Pudding’s caffee, Nami was very active about finding of Sanji’s whereabouts and stuff. Obviously, Nami wouldn’t say out loud such things as “I like Sanji” but maybe the third eye senses something or like could use telepathy-like skills since her Devil’s Fruit has to do with manipulating and reading memories?
Or from more neutral perspective, maybe she just wanted to enjoy the shock factor she caused for both of them before bidding goodbye, really hard to say tbh.
Tumblr media
At the same time elsewhere Sanji tries to pull on the brave face and kind of “tries to live with his desicion” (in other words tries to pretend he is truly happy with Pudding)  but for oddly reasons all Sanji can really think about is his crew.  He is supposed to pack a picnic basket for Pudding but he ends up putting there foods that his closest friends like instead of what Pudding likes.
So at this part of the arc Sanji’s mind (and heart) does constantly balances between becoming the groom to Pudding (whom he just met but whom he believes can be the “salvation”) and missing his crew and chasing his dreams of finding All Blue.
Just a random detail but for some reason Oda wanted to have a separate panel for Sanji packing some wine and tangerines to the basket]. We all know Nami loves citrus fruits and she likes Sanji’s cocktails too so  as a SaNami shipper it almost feels like Sanji was secretly dreaming about taking Nami to the picnic and if we think about how much he adores Nami, it wouldn’t really be surprising.
Tumblr media
Now we move forward to the turning point of Sanji where he realizes that all his plans are ruined and it was all a scheme and that he is now in the bullseye target because Pudding now reveals to Reiju what they have planned.
This is really painful to watch/read, why? Because Oda highlighted throughout the arc how Sanji truly trusted Pudding as his savior and thought he could fix things by doing compromises as far as his sacrificial nature allows.
Now not only his plan is ruined but also he realizes he did all that effort to keep the retrieval team out goes now to “waste”. Although I still believe that deep down Sanji is expecting the others to show up but still maybe at this point inside his mind he starts to regret on what he said to both Luffy and Nami because obviously things would’ve turned out differently if he would’ve let them rescue him before captain vs cook fight.
Pudding really can hit his weak spot, those are probably the most hurtful words Sanji can listen to at that point. Being called a failure must’ve sent him some flashbacks to his miserable childhood and being mocked not to be a proper prince must’ve also felt awful  (his nickname back in Alabasta was Prince, probably that was foreshadowing back then) whereas mocking his swollen face (and he might be sensitive about his looks since Judge forced him to keep an iron mask).
Interestingly Oda has put placed Reiju as her victim which is well kind of a obvious choice but still it gives parallels. Reiju was after all reason why Sanji gained the freedom he wanted. Back in Sanji’s childhood Reiju was his savior and now Pudding is supposed to be his savior like he made himself believe but now the plot twist puts Sanji basically in a dead end.
Tumblr media
What speaks for Sanji’s despair is all the symbolism that Oda has gathered. I might talk more about some of them in the last part of Totto Land’s series’ but here are listed what are the most noticeable related to the events so far:
The rain, the weather has been crap ever since Sanji parted with Nami and Luffy. Now again in this chapter is heavy and dark.
The basket and the roses were supposed represent a new beginning for Sanji and his future bride since they were supposed to have a cute picnic together. Roses are known as symbol of love and according to Google thornless roses are supposed to mean “love at first sight”. Well the rain wilts the roses while Sanji stands there and listens how everything falls down so this was quite straightforward message from Oda to Sanji that his plan is now ruined for good.
The thunder, the lightnings have so far appeared only in chapter  845 where he proposed Pudding. Parallel or not, there as well the situation was dramatic and similar: people that are important to Sanji were overpowered and he was a dead end at that moment too.
The lighter isn’t working. Last but not least the most symbolic thing to describe Sanji’s inner pain is that the rain is temporarily ruining his lighter. Since he is a chain smoker he seeks comfort in cigarettes so what could be worse than not being able to have a smoke after such shocking news?
Tumblr media
Probably nothing so in other words poor Sanji is literally standing outside while it’s raining out like being poured from the bucket and all he would want is a little cheer and he is not even allowed to have that and all he is given is a cold hand and a pile of things he is now forced to question such as his beliefs, his actions, basically everything from the fight until this moment.  So, this is something we could indeed call a rock bottom.

I still want to hear your sexuality hc about your fav characters like an idiot
Types up small essay:
(I included some gender hcs too, since there's a lot of gender HCs that are very important to me.)
I've already mentioned some of these, but it pains me to make an incomplete list. Also, it's divided by fandom. (for fandoms you aren't in, disregard!)
These are only the ones I'm very attached to and cannot imagine the character without. No worries if you are squicked by or disagree with any of em!
One Piece:
Luffy: Canonically asexual, but I hc him specifically as sex positive. He doesn't really get the point, but would fuck you if you asked. Also NB. Man does not understand the hype around gender in the slightest.
Nami: Sex NEGATIVE asexual, and will only use sex appeal to steal your wallet.
Franky: Trans dude. If he can make himself a robot body, he can make himself a robot dick. Also he's Bi. He never mentions any of this, and is surprised that his crewmates didn't already know.
Zoro: Has legit never thought about it. He has no fucking clue what his sexuality is. He just does what he wants in the moment.
Sanji: There's a solid arguement to be made in canon that my dude is not Cis. (There's simping, and then there's getting euphoria for being in the body of your hot female friend.) I personally HC him as bigender. Also, no way is he actually into ladies.
Homestuck:
Vriska: Trans woman, transitioned super young. Will fight you if you misgender her.
Karkat: Not being able to feel certain quadrants places him on the Troll aromantic spectrum. Troll sexuality is different and my HCs should reflect that!
John: Bi, and doesn't understand that Bi isn't the default. Everyone finds their male friends attractive, that doesn't mean they want to date them! (he is wrong.)
Aradia: Lesbian in red and pitch quadrants.
Roxy: Pan, and uses she/her + Neopronouns (I'd think it/its and nya/nyas fit her vibe.)
Jade: Queer, and very open about having a crush on everyone in her friend group at one point.
The Owl House:
Willow: Trans woman. Her intro episode has so much trans subtext, what can I say!
No South Park Headcanons I'm really attached to, but practically everything but Transfem!Butters has canon backing at this point.
I actually don't headcanon Mr. Kitty as intersex because Ms. Cartman totally replaces Mr. Kitty whenever something bad happens, and that explains the inconsistencies.
Total Drama:
Bi Owen is arguably canon, if played for laughs. (I know the shows old, but yikes!)
But have you considered... closeted Bi Heather? Gives me peak "get out of my school vibes" with Gwen.
Julia seems the type to pretend to be gay on the internet for clout, then realize she actually is gay. She's horrible like that.
I know Wayne is canonically the best Ally, but Harold knows more about LGBTQ+ history than everyone else put together and will happily talk about it when asked. He has helped at least 3 people figure out the name for their sexuality.
I saw someone posting about Aroace DJ, and it has not left my brain since.
Bi Zoey! She's not open about it, due to not wanting to be the only openly queer person in her small town.
Scott is gay, but he also knows very little about sexuality. It takes him embarrassingly long to figure it out.
Jasmine is questioning her sexuality, and Sammy (I will not call her Samey, I refuse.) was her first known crush on a girl. Still love her and Shawn though.
He/they Shawn. Based off vibes.
Priya gives me "me before I realized I was into girls" vibes. I don't make the rules.
Ace Attorney:
Bi Gumshoe. If he's straight, why does he act the exact same around Edgeworth than he does his CANON crush.
Aroace Athena. I cannot imagine her having romantic feelings for anyone, I'm sorry. (Junie had a crush on her at one point though, and she was flattered.)
NB Apollo. His relationship with gender (makes contented buzzing noise!)
Demi Edgeworth: Cannot have a crush on someone without knowing them for 5 years first.
Transmasc. Maya, because gender roles in her village is pretty key to her arc, and that'd be a cool way of exploring that.
I know Bi Phoenix is the prevalent headcanon, but I am a Gay Phoenix enjoyer. His fling with Dahlia reads as Comphet to me.
Danganronpa:
Gonta's relationship with gender in canon is so ??? no way is he cis. I'm giving him the Genderqueer label, but Cisn't. I don't think he's quite figured it out though.
If I am despised for liking Bi Tenko, so be it. It makes sense with what we see of her backstory, and no way am I allowing my fave to be a stereotype.
I am a trans Chihiro enjoyer, but fuck you if you think the people that want to use Chihiro's canon pronouns are transphobic. The whole thing is stupid, and people should be able to have fun with the character without discourse
Very Openly gay, All Pronouns (including Neopronouns!) Ibuki. They lead the GSA at Hope's Peak. Ate a gender for breakfast once.
Demi Taka. Also Demi Mukuro.
Aroace Togami. Man only has an interest in sex because its expected of him, and does not enjoy when someone is sexually attracted to him.
Aroace Makoto with a million QPPs. It doesn't make sense with canon, but it is one of my favorite headcanons.
Bi Toko.
Poly Kaede.

Me and @antibioware made a tier list of the One Piece arcs (based it on a video a saw on youtube)
Under cut some explanation for every arc
ROMANCE DAWN: A - Strongest first chapter to date in a manga, for me. Introduces Zoro and immediately makes you understand what kind of character Luffy is.
ORANGE TOWN: B - It does introduce us characters like Nami and Buggy and shows us the “relationship” between Luffy and his hat (this is a secret tool that will come in hand later) and the dog part made me cry, but it’s a pretty forgettable arc with not that much going on especially from a character perspective
SYRUP ISLAND: B - It does a very well job at introducing us to Usopp but unfortunately the villains are really weak
BARATIE: A - The first big arc. Amazing introduction of Sanji, it gives us a taste of what expects the pirates in the Grand Line with the introduction of Mihawk, it has the best Zoro moment to date and it has Nami’s betrayal which will bring us to Arlong Park. The only weak spot is, again, the villains.
ARLONG PARK: S TIER BABY - I don’t think I need to explain why Arlong Park goes in S, but Nami backstory is great and tragic and she is sort of reintroduced to us with a lot more nuanced and complications than the start. We completely rediscover her character. And we sort of also rediscover Luffy in 1) how he’s completely aware of his shortcomings 2) how far he’s gonna go for his friends
LOGUE TOWN: A tier - Maybe an A tier would sound weird for what is basically a short “transit” arc, but I think Logue Town completely deserves it. It introduces us really important characters and it’s filled with symbolism. Also it’s fun.
REVERSE MOUNTAIN: B tier - Not a bad arc but definetly something that won’t give the greatest impression on you. We all love Laboon but that’s pretty much it.
WHISKY PEAK: C tier - And I say it with my heart heavy because it’s the “official” start of the Alabasta Arc, it introduces Nico Robin AND it has one of my favourite SillyZoro moments, but it’s also an arc that passes and the fight between Zoro and Luffy has no sense to exist.
LITTLE GARDEN: B tier - It’s a lot of fun but mostly just that
DRUM ISLAND: B tier - We sort of had a fight out on this one but B won over A simply because the villain is really too fucking stupid and narratively weak.
ALABASTA: A - Some would say that actually Alabasta encompasses the three arcs above as well, which are all sort of little arcs to get to Alabasta, but even considering what happens in Alabasta on his own, this Arc stands great. Crocodile is one of the great villains of One Piece and the first one Luffy has to defeat using his wits instead of just his fists. It introduces some great characters like Ace and Nico Robin and a lot of narrative elements that will be picked up again later in One Piece. Plus the moment in which Tashigi and Smoker are forced to pick the Pirates side is emblematic.
JAYA: B - Jaya is yet another transit arc and not super memorable except for a few moments: Nico Robin getting in the crew, Luffy and Zoro being beaten by the pirates without responding and the introducton of Blackbeard. I love Zoro nagging at Nico Robin, a pretty good arc but also not particularly memorable.
SKYPIEA: C - So now we enter complicated territory. Because I don’t particularly hate Skypiea (and here is when I started rating arcs by how they treat Nico Robin and Cole got mad at me). Enel is a pretty funny villain and the fact that he’s basically invincible if it wasn’t that Luffy is his natural enemy because he’s made of Rubber is a pretty cool idea (and also gives us the immortal Enel Face that will accompany us throught the rest of One Piece), introduces some new interesting mechanics, foreshadowing Haki, and some really interesting parts with Nico Robin and the Poneglyph and the way Oda deals with the colonization theme could be a lot worse. UNTIL the fucking Noland and Kalgara backstory. That is white man savior narrative 101 and alone it drags Skypiea down from a Solid B to a C
LONG RING LONG LAND: C - A filler arc until it is not. And gooddam when it is not it’s really good. Unfortunately there is all the rest.
WATER 7: S - Water 7 is not my favourite arc but it is objectively the best arc. It’s Franky and Usopp and Nico Robin arc. The story is intense and filled with government conspirations. The first actual fight inside the crew is intense and perfectly places and completely understandable and you wished it didn’t happen and it’s heartbreaking. And while dealing with all of this, Nico Robin it being taken away to Enies Lobby
ENIES LOBBY: S - I want to live.
THRILLER BARK: B - Thriller Bark is uuh. It’s okay? It doesn’t add much to story or character development until Kuma arrives, Brook is sort of the weakest link of the crew and Moira is a forgettable Villain. But it is hilarious, it finally has a group fightand the Nothing Happened moment. I think it’s one of the arc one would reread or rewatch without effort but that doesn’t give that much as the good one piece arcs.
SABAODY ARCHIPELAGO: A - A great arc that adds a lot to the worldbuilding of One Piece and has the crew completely annihilated at the end
AMAZON LILY: B - It does a good job at showing us how important is the crew to Luffy, the fight scene is great but could be a lot better all around.
IMPEL DOWN: A - Absolute adrenaline rush from start to finish, it just lacks that ultimate emotional climax that would shoot it to S but a great arc
MARINEFORD: S - And let’s not talk about it shall we
POST WAR: A - The backstory of the ASL brothers is great and gives us a whole new context to Luffy and Ace relationship and seeing Luffy going into a crazed self harming rampage after Marineford and then think about his friends is heartbreaking. A+ tears
RETURN TO SABAODY: C - It’s a transit arc that’s pretty okay on his own, unfortunately it introduces the very bad post skip designs
FISHMAN ISLAND: D - So one would think this arc is bad because it’s a follow up of Marineford but it’s just bad on his own. The oppression narrative is confused and not that great, Otohime and Shirahoshi are insufferable, Sanji is undergoing one of the worst character assassinations in the history of mangas and the fucking nosebleed gag goes on for 20 chapters. Not only it’s boring and bad but it’s not even funny. There is nothing funny to make up for it. I’d rate it lower than D.
PUNK HAZARD: C - The peak of Oda’s misogynist writing. I’d rate it lower than C but there are a few good moments and Law’s reintroduction and seeing him being forced to interact with the strawhats is actually kinda funny. C-
DRESSROSA: A - I was actually scared this moment would never come, but the post skip is good again. Doflamingo is the best One Piece villain, Law’s backstory is tragic, the worldbuilding is really good but above all, it’s really fucking funny. The weakest spot is that the underuse of the female characters and it’s ongoing senseless sexualization of women drags it down to a A- for me
