No kissing, he’d told her, despite the way her eyes darted down to his mouth. Not unless you’re thinking of me, instead of trying to forget him. What Nikolai hadn’t said, that morning before the world started crashing down around them all over again, was that he thought of Mal, too. Of the twisted-together web the three of them made. His engagement to Alina, how tremulous the thing was, how wary Nikolai felt of hoping too badly for it to happen. Alina and Mal’s history, warped and tightly knotted and strained at the edges. The uncertain shape pulled between himself and Mal, an understanding he can’t put words to and a faith held in the unwavering needle of his lucky compass, warm against the skin of Mal’s chest. Nikolai wonders if he’s the only one who can see it- the three of them, Ravka spread out beneath their hands, back-to-back-to-back. He wonders if he’s the only one who wants it, fearsome and vicious and hungry.

He doesn’t think so; but he’s been wrong on occasion.

not to be like “you’re not a REAL six of crows fan if you liked the show” but i struggle to empathize with anyone who was legitimately excited for a soc spinoff. because like…did we read the same books?

were you there when they erased inej’s debt at the end of s1, essentially cutting off any reason for her to stay with the crows of her own volition?

did you care that kaz’s defeat of pekka lacked literally all the buildup the duology gave it, and that it would make him a completely different character going into the ice court heist? let alone how crooked kingdom has no reason to happen anymore?

did it matter when nina was forced to turn in matthias, rather than it having been her choice due to her fierce loyalty to ravka like in the books, completely uprooting her morals as well as the point of their relationship?

was it fine that jesper’s arc with his mother appeared out of thin air, the complexities of his gambling addiction, his impulsivity, his reluctance to use his powers, and his dynamic with kaz seemingly forgotten?

were you okay with wylan being reduced to a plot-serving love interest?

shadow and bone took scenes without context and slapped them into bits of fanservice held together by toothpicks. there is absolutely no reason to believe a six of crows spinoff would have been any different, because they’d be limited to an already-ruined canon. personally i am relieved they can’t get their hands on it anymore.

my theory of the timeline of events based on the soundtrack list

on the run - alina and mal are on the run in maybe novyi zem

market chase - that scene in the trailer with mal running

tolya and tamar - they get introduced here, maybe they save alina and mal, maybe its the location in that video where tamar says 'sounds important or dangerous i can never tell the difference'

wylan - CUT TO THE CROWS AND WE SEE WYLAN

come sail away - could be the crows, could be alina and mal on nikolai's ship

brother - nikolai is a brother, kaz has a brother, inej has a brother 🤷‍♀️

arriving at the island - could be the crows arriving to ketterdam (could be the cave of the sea whip??)

crows ambushed - they get ambushed when they arrive in ketterdam, probably by pekka, thats why kaz was cane-smacking in the trailer

Sab spoilers , but by this point everyone has watched it

Sergei was only mentioned so it barely counts as being on the show. Kaz`s fight with the dregs is pretty much the same as CK , so i count it as an adaptation which means there is an abssense of some named dregs like Anika and Keeg who tried to stop it

Not counting characters whose timeline has not come yet (Colm,Jan Van Eck,Jarl Brum,etc)

Neither counting characters that appeared phisically on season 1 like Fedyor,Pavel , Rotty,Ivan or Marie , even if on the case of the grisha, they appeared on the S&S events but were removed from the timeline
