[A FRESHLY MADE CARAMEL APPLE WAS LEFT FOR MR. IT WASN’T A VERY PRETTY THING: THE PREPARATION WAS A BIT SHODDY, AND THE STICK WAS A LITTLE STICKY WITH CARAMEL. NONETHELESS, THE TREAT WAS PERFECTLY FINE. AROUND THE STICK, PERHAPS TO HIDE THE SPLINTERED CRACK MENDED WITH MEDICAL TAPE, A YELLOW BOW WAS WRAPPED. AN INDEX CARD WAS ATTACHED TO THE BOW.

THE NOTE READ:
