Sophie has the need to be helpful to others, which can be troublesome to her by turning into a situation where she takes on tasks she might not be able to do.
She has a determined spirit even if she screws up, she just tells herself to take note of the mistake and try again no matter how embarrassed she may be. A hard worker who has the drive to succeed.
When she doesn’t know what the topic others are talking about, she just stuffs some food in her face or tries not to be noticed so it prevents people from including her until they talk about a topic she is familiar with.
She doesn’t want to say she doesn’t know. She has to cling to her pride as a royal even for a bit. It’s a struggle of not wanting to look stupid yet she doesn’t know what else to do at this point.
There are times when she mumbles and ends up walking while doing so. Oftentimes she ends up somewhere else and she’ll only realize it when she’s finished mumbling her thoughts.

Whenever she’s too busy to eat she will always go have some snacks while she’s doing her task. Doesn’t matter where or what, she has a form of snack to munch on, be it candy or a small packet of nuts.

Family History
Sophie is the daughter of the Queen Meredith. The sole ruler of her home kingdom, Enchantis, and she is next in line for the throne. Though her future is set in stone, her mother always made time for her and was very involved in her royal education.
Her kingdom is called, Enchantis, a castle built on a large island surrounded by other large islands where villages and towns are built. She has step siblings who are twins. She was very welcoming to her new family members though she has to constantly remind her step-brother that being royalty comes with responsibility.
Her kingdom houses plenty of artifacts that are very old, one of them was a magical amulet that could grant powers to anyone who wears it. The amulet is now in Sophie’s possession and she promises her mother that she will guard it responsibly.
Sophie didn’t expect her mother to remarry, and to a commoner of all people. She was surprised when her mother told her about marrying the man named, Ryland. Sophie supported her mother’s new love while the council voiced their objection.
Despite the council’s arguments, Meredith and Ryland got married and he becomes the new king. Though the newlyweds decided to let Meredith rule as she always did while Ryland takes care of the smaller tasks like hosting events and charities.
As for Ryland’s children, Jemma and Amir, they were announced as the new prince and princess alongside their father. Amir was ecstatic in his new life as he always dreamed what it would be like to live in the palace. While Jemma was a bit hesitant and anxious since she might be forced to behave a certain way and thinks that the nobles would look down on them.
Sophie, being the helpful girl, assisted in her new siblings’ adjustment to the palace. Constantly reminding Amir that though it is luxurious it comes with a responsibility and would always remind him to not let the wealth and power shape his identity.
As for Jemma, Sophie would cover for her when she slips up during fancy parties. Though Sophie doesn’t know what life is like as a commoner, she can understand the feeling of not wanting to leave the life you’re familiar with.
As for Ryland, he was just as nervous as Sophie was in terms of trying to get along. They overthink about what to say or how to behave around the other. By the time they both realized they were fretting over nothing they had a good laugh. The step father was actually a nice guy who shares the open-mindedness like her mother.
Though when her father needs help organizing events, Sophie is there to provide her opinion on what the latest trends are. Ryland is thankful for her help.
Overall, the new family members are slowly adjusting to the new life as royals and Sophie finally has more company when her mother was too busy.
Childhood Memories
Sophie remembers her mother would show her old journals of an ex-royal who left the kingdom to discover the outside world. It was forbidden by the council to possess any outside knowledge, but Sophie’s mother thought it was harmless. So, the queen lets Sophie read the journal in secret.
This gave Sophie this wonder of what the world would be like if she were to leave the kingdom one day. A part of her is hesitant to speak up about her want to see what’s beyond the kingdom. due to the council’s insistence.
And when her step family moved in, she had quite the shock at trying to handle two twins who are such polar opposites. There may be some disagreements, but they are close as family could be.
She is diligent and hopeful, never gives up on a task until it is done. Though she needs to learn how to lean onto others for support when she needs it. During the first few weeks of the school, Filly and the other animals were the only ones she’d talk to. Hopefully she’d talk and make friends with the other students.
The first few months have had her frozen in shock. Like the floating teapots that were rioting at the time. The explosion of glitter from one of Ella’s creative process. The monkeys who nearly stole her necklace when she went to Magiaoasis and even the brawl between teachers and the students secretly betting on said teachers.
Her face was just frozen into perpetual terror at the sight.
She currently has a hard time trying to adjust to a lot of culture shock. It may be hard, but she’s trying at least…
Filly
She is a cocker spaniel with pink ears and tail, with pinkish white fur. She was given to Sophie as a childhood present and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
Filly often helps Sophie out whenever she feels troubled. If Sophie isn’t able to say what she needs to then Filly does it for her with a loud bark.
Filly has a love for ribbons because Sophie would always have a box of ribbons ready for her. The dog is quite touchy about anyone trying to touch her precious ribbons.
Zenius
He is a Pegasus in Enchantis who was given to Sophie in her 12th birthday and she raised him as her flying companion for the kingdom’s derby racing.
Zenius is eager to race to the skies but he tends to be quite bashful towards onlookers which sometimes cuts his focus. Which often led him to falling from of the sky mid-flight.
Despite his bumbling mistakes, Sophie still cherishes him as her friend and racing horse. He wasn’t brought to DCA until a few months into the semester because he was getting anxious.
Sophie has no unique magic yet.
As for magical skills, she has a decent amount of magic meant for daily life such as levitation spells and repair spells.
The spell Sophie likes to use the most are spells that soothe her nerves. They come out as little lilac flowers that float around her head and dissolve. Its what helps her step-siblings calm down or when she’s having trouble thinking straight due to the stress.
As for combat, she only knows defensive spells as well as average dispelling for curses. Anything that involves direct combat is beyond her capabilities.
She has a telepathic connection to her amulet called, Avaloria.
Meredith Fascinare
The queen and mother of Sophie, she is a benevolent ruler who is more open-minded than the council, she always jokes with Sophie that she thinks they’re always so grumpy they might end up looking like trolls. She is calm and patient with others and would always hear out both sides before speaking her opinion.
Ryland Fascinare
The step-father of Sophie who used to work as a jeweler in a small village. It wasn’t until he was asked to present a gift for the queen along with the other citizens that he fell for the queen at first sight. He is a jolly man who always finds amusement in everything, he is a bit shy with having to be taught the etiquette by Sophie and the queen, but he tries his best to adjust.
Jemma Fascinare (12)
The younger twin who likes to run around and play knight with the other boys back at the village. She finds being royalty a bit difficult but she tries her best when she sees Sophie trying hard too. She dreams of becoming a knight one day.
Amir Fascinare (12)
The older twin easily adjusted to the palace life. He tries to follow Sophie’s lead though he fumbles a lot due to being unfamiliar with the etiquette. But Sophie is always there to make sure he gets it right and guides him along the way.
The character’s name, “Sophie” is a variation of the name she was twisted from which is Sofia from Sofia the first. Her last name, “Fascinare”, is from the word fascinating. There is no other reason the artist used this name other than to make it sound fancy enough for royalty.
Sophie was going to have several abilities after every overblot was resolved much like how Sofia gains more abilities in her amulet like being able to shrink or turn into any animal she sees. But the artist is still brainstorming this idea.
The artist also wanted to make Sophie’s story in the future be a variation of Overblot since they want to make an antagonist that will be her adversary. (this part is still being brainstormed)

Sophie Fascinare (ソフィー・ファシナーレ, Sofī Fashināre) is a 15 year old 1st year student affiliated with the Glastanzerin dorm. Hailing from an isolated kingdom, she has no idea how to fit in the modern society but she will try her best to become a true princess!
History
Sophie was born and raised in the kingdom of Enchantis, a large island with a castle in the center surrounded by other large islands that house villages and towns.
At some point during her life, Sophie’s mother, Queen Meredith married a humble jeweler known as Ryland and in the process became the older step sister to Ryland’s twins, his son Amir and his daughter Jemma. She was very welcoming to her new family members though she has to constantly remind her Amir that being royalty comes with responsibility.
When her enrollment in Diamond Crown Academy was announced, her mother’s council immediately disagreed out of fear of outsiders and reject any idea of outside knowledge ruining their traditions.
Prior to her departure to DCA, her mother entrusted her with a magical amulet that was said could grant powers to anyone who wears it.
Personality
Sophie is diligent and hopeful, never gives up on a task until it is done. Though she needs to learn how to lean onto others for support when she needs it. She has a determined spirit even if she screws up, she just tells herself to take note of the mistake and try again no matter how embarrassed she may be.
Appearance
Sophie is a young girl of average height in her mid-teens. She has fair skin, blue eyes which were later changed to violet, and shoulder-length brown hair that would later include a light purple streak and is commonly shown in a ponytail.
Sophie’s Ensemble in her First Bio
This ensemble takes inspiration from the ensemble of the character Sophie is based on. the details of the ensemble are listed below with the only difference being that the bio ensemble has a purple color palette.
1st School Uniform
The outfit consists of a a bright blue puff sleeve jacket with a crown pattern, gold trim, buttons, a pale yellow ruffle collar with white lace and navy blue cuffs with silver buttons with a flower motif. The jacket is worn over a baby blue dress with the top having gold trim and white lace and also having a light yellow skirt. For footwear, Sophie wears a pair of brown shoes with gold straps with bows in the center alongside a pair of pale yellow argyle socks that have a solid purple color at the halfway point.
Sophie accessorizes with a silver tiara with the center part resembling a heart with a purple gem on top, a purple bow on the right side of her hair, a navy blue sash and most notably an amulet with a purple teardrop pendant set in silver.
2nd School Uniform
Sophie’s ensemble is drastically different from the first one. She wears a light blue puff-sleeved bolero jacket with gold trim and white pearl buttons. Underneath is glittery periwinkle overskirt with gold trim worn over a pastel blue argyle v-neck dress with pale yellow trim which is in turn worn over a white dress shirt with lace trim. For footwear, Sophie wears a pair of dark brown low heeled shoes with yellow ruffle trim and blue-violet bows and a pair of white socks with ruffle cuffs.
Sophie accessorizes with a silver tiara with the center having a heart motif and infinity loops on both sides, a blue-violet ponytail ribbon, a blue-violet ribbon with gold trim and a silver teardrop brooch with a purple jewel in the center, and a blue-violet sash with gold trim and a ribbon on the right side with a silver gem in the center.
3rd School Uniform
Sophie's 3rd school uniform is fairly basic, which makes sense since she’s adjusting to a new environment due to coming from an isolated kingdom. Additionally she was unsure how the uniform commissioning system worked so she commissioned something simplistic.
For her ensemble, Sophie wears a periwinkle puff sleeve jacket with silver trim, a pair of pale blue gem buttons on each side of the jacket, each attached to a pair of silver toggles,dark purple cuffs and the inside has a purple checkerboard pattern. Worn underneath the jacket is a pale blue sweater with a collar and a periwinkle skirt with silver trim and pale blue ruffles. For footwear, Sophie wears a pair of low heeled Mary Janes with silver buckles and bows on the straps. She wears the shoes with a pair of short white socks.
Sophie accessorizes with a silver tiara with heart and loop motif, a silver teardrop brooch with a lavender with a flower in the center and pale blue gems on the top, and a violet belt with a bow in the center alongside a silver buckle.
School Statistics
Sophie is a 15 year old 1st year student. She is classified as Student #3 and is in Class 1-A. She has yet to choose a club, but her best subject is Basic Etiquette. Her favorite school subject is Study of Magical Relics because of she was always so interested in relics, in part thanks to her amulet. Her least favorite school subject is Fencing/Sword Fighting due to her lack of experience with weaponry.

Sophie’s animal companion is a cocker spaniel named, Filly. A loyal dog who always gives advice and encourages her.
During the first few weeks of the school, Filly and the other animals were the only ones she’d talk to.

According to her bio, Sophie would be voiced by Kanae Itō known for her roles as Amu Hinamori in Shugo Chara!, Ruiko Saten in A Certain Scientific Railgun, and Nana Astar Deviluke in To Love Ru to list a few.

• Her birthday is on November 18th, making her a Scorpio. Her birthday is also the same day that Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess released, as well as being the birthday of Mickey Mouse.

The Arbor comes into view when the golden glaze of the sunset colors the sky. Rhaegal starts recognizing areas from Ryland’s letters almost immediately; there are the grand docks of Vinetown, stretching well beyond the land and hosting boats and ships of all sizes and colors. Far away, on the north of island, he can see Starfish Harbor, with its famed redheart wood docks that extend out like a starfish’s legs. And down south, if he squints, he sees hints of the white walls being built for the newest city of the island, Ryamsport. Countless colors paint the sea, and the green of the land is ever so vibrant.

Tonight I watched Poirot Season 1, Episode 7: "Problem at Sea," and almost immediately recognized Colin Higgins, who I know as Mr. Morecambe from the 1987 miniseries adaptation of Dorothy L. Sayers' Have His Carcase. I immediately made the connection that the episode also contained two characters named Mr. and Mrs. Tolliver, and of course "Tilly Tolliver" was Mrs. Morecambe's stage name in HHC. I thought the actor playing Mr. Tolliver also looked familiar, so I looked him up as well....and found out he was played by Geoffrey Beevers, who I was recognizing because he played Ryland Vaughn in the 1987 Strong Poison. I also noticed that Mrs. Tolliver was played by Caroline John, his real-life wife...who also played Miss Burrows in Gaudy Night.
England really do be a small island, sometimes.

Daily Writing Challenge May 25th 2023 – Day 5 – Miracle/Tension
Andivia sighed. She hadn’t meant to, it just sort of came out.
She was sitting at the island in Camliri’s kitchen, drinking some peach iced tea, and watching hers and Cam’s kids play in the pool. Cam’s cat, Lily, lounged in the shade of a brightly colored umbrella, occasionally opening her eyes to look at the kids, like they had disturbed her beauty rest. There was no sign of Dennis the Demon Dog, or Mal, today.
The Arcanist eyed her friend warily, one long, slender brow arched. Andi caught the look and shook her head.
“What?” she demanded, maybe a little more harshly than she intended. Cam held up her hands and did her best to look innocent.
“Nothing, I was just thinking that you look… good. You look healthy and more alive than the last time I saw you. How have you been doing?” Andi frowned a bit.
Truth be told, she hadn’t been doing well the last few years, but things were starting to look up, at least she thought they were. She had gone back to her spot at the Shielded Mind clinic and began seeing patients there again. There was a baby boom going on, and lots of new babies meant lots of new business for her specialty; pediatrics. On the days she wasn’t working there, she had resumed baking food for the orphanages, mending and making clothing and toys for them, and was even thinking about doing a fundraiser for care boxes to send to those fighting the Incarnates over on the Dragon Isles.
“I feel…” she hesitated, trying to put into words just how she felt. “I feel kind of alive again, like the rut I had been in has finally passed, and my life has meaning again.” She gave Cam a weak smile and sipped more iced tea.
“Andi, your life has always had meaning. You are one of the most genuinely good and caring people I know. I mean, I don’t know anyone else that would care about, and take care of, their ex the way you do. Or all of the kids that you help through your practice and work with orphanages. You are good, you are kind, and you are wonderful, and I think everyone except for you knows that.”
Andi huffed out a laugh, blinking back tears in her bright blue eyes. She had to take another drink of tea to help swallow the lump in her throat. Still, she couldn’t keep the tears from slipping out and trailing down her cheeks, which were fuller and full of more color than this time last year. She did manage to not sob, though, and she thought that was a win.
Cam came around the island and put her arm around Andi’s shoulders. Still a bit too frail, Cam thought, but getting better. Hugging the Priestess tightly, she said against Andi’s sunny blonde hair.
“Go ahead, hon, let it out. It’s okay, this is a safe space, always.”
The tension seemed to melt from Andi’s shoulders and she wrapped her arms around Cam’s waist and let her friend hold her while cried; hot, burning, angry, hopeless tears for the years she had let slip by in a daze, in a fog, burying her emotions so deep inside she was afraid she had pushed everyone she loved away. Tears for the years she had felt so alone, when she wasn’t really. Tears for the bitterness she had felt for even her dearest friend because Cam had a life that Andi wanted. Tears for the relationships she had actually ran from, from the ones that could have been that she hid from, but, most importantly, tears for the ones that were still there; Cam, Andaeros, and his awful puns that she couldn’t help but grin at, Dicenne, who always had a smile for her, Ryland, and his cheeky grin when she saw him, Leomar, and his quiet nods when they sat together in Cam’s living room by a fire in the winter, Mal, who loved to ruffle her hair and tease her about smiting him. For Felon, and his love of their children. And even for Red, who, although he was an ass so, so much of the time, he never failed to be around, just when she needed a reality check. Kalen and Tobin, the terrible twosome who would never, ever leave her alone, even if she begged them.
And, when she thought about it, there were a slew of others that had always been in her life, had been a constant, even when she was floating in that sea of bitter loneliness.
It was a miracle that she still had any friends at all. She hadn’t been a very good friend to any of them as of late, but she intended on fixing that. She wanted to be with her friends, with her people, with the ones that had become family to her.
She wasn’t sure what had changed, but one day, something inside just… cracked. And instead of the usual hurt, the usual anger and bitterness, the usual fog, there was hope.
Hope of the life she had wanted, and still did. Hope that she wasn’t too far gone to live that life. Hope that her friends were still there, still wanted to be there.
And it felt good to hope. To have something to look forward to when she awoke, and the dreams of the future when she slept. She was ready to embrace that hope, and her life again.
After all, her last name was ‘Hopebringer,’ it was high time she lived up to it.

whilst the island danced the night away ...
The night of the masquerade was going smoothly. Everyone in attendance seemingly enjoying themselves. Sure, the occasional quarreling was overheard but that's to be expected when drinks are flowing from an open bar.
What most attendees were unaware of was the stirring on the other side of the island. See, nestled at the tip on the edge of Ravenwyck is what appears to be a cozy lighthouse. The lighthouse is home to an ancient wixen who has kept their eyes glued on the prisoners of The Forgotten Isle since its start. Through ancient spells and charms, she along with a few others ensure that no one escapes. There's only been one incident that resulted in a painful death, resulting in none trying since.
Unfortunately, whilst the rest of the island is enjoying themselves, a bubbling from inside the mountain of Midnight Labriynth stirred resulting in those thought dead floating to the surface. Ghosts and ghouls were silently making their way across the island, some causing mischief, others filled with confusion. A small group of ghouls led by the aforementioned prisoner made their way to the lighthouse, taking the guards and the ancient wixen by surprise and killing them resulting in most the warding spells failing and prisoners easily making an escape.
Once word hit the council members at the masquerade, it was too late to stop things from escalating beyond repair. Acting fast, perhaps somewhat ill-advised, with help of a few powerful magic wielding beings they put the ball under lockdown. Those able to, with power left to see what they could do to calm the situation whilst the rest slowly started splitting attendees into groups until eventually all were split up, some with familiar faces, others not so lucky. Still, few knew what was actually happening, is keeping thousands of supernatural beings mixed with humans in the dark admist chaos truly the answer? There's truly only one way to find out.
Out Of Character Details:
The music has stopped, the ball has come to an end, and attendees have been split into groups in hopes to better control the masses. It's possible that one or two have managed to slip out, but the majority are now under lockdown until things are under control.

in order to keep us from confusing the dash event threads from new ones, we've decided to test out Discord as we find it can be easier with group threads. Everyone will have access to all the groups as it is quite fun to be able to read what everyone is up to during the event! A Tupperbox tutorial will be shared on the resource blog and in the server, though the admins will also be around for any questions!

#worldbuildingask How do palaces and property work in your world? Does the family own any of their palaces or residences?
Ooo! This is a great question!!!
In Trenton it's a mix of both. The palaces and other historical locations are owned by the state. They are also heavily monitored/regulated by the Trenton Historical Society. For example the renovations to Bremore Palace took 5+ years to be approved due to the steps needed for approval. Both the Historical Society and Parliament had to approve of the renovations and the costs.
The Royal family does own some of their residences. Ryland and Eleanor's home, the chalet, their beach home (that is also located on a private island owned by the royal family), and probably a bunch of others that I haven't created yet.

I wasn't. Of course I miss the life outside and the ability to travel when I'd like but I do also appreciate the simplicity of just working on and running a farm, not that it's easy, but it's a very straightforward life with my family.

Being with my loved ones, and having my own farm and helping keep the island running through that.

Somewhat, I'd be stupid if I didn't fear them in the slightest, I do think it's healthy to. I have however definitely learned more in regards to how to handle & practice caution around them.

Though he's far from the first one to have a farm on the island, his is definitely on the side of being the largest and constantly working towards expansion. dominic didn't grow up around racing. at least, not in the same way that he's racing now for a career. his family liked to go to the county fair every year and watch the dirt track races, or go to ponderosa to watch those races.
his younger sisters had no interest in racing. they competed in the fair pageants, with either cove or paloma typically taking home a crown. being identical twins, it often comes down to their talent and whether a judge leans toward plate spinning or singing as a favored skill. dominic is very proud of them both.
dominic races the european circuit and spends much of his time overseas. he comes home mainly for important family events, like cove's pageants, or when paloma had her son. birthdays and holidays are usually times he can find to come home, but when a race overlaps, the family often comes to see him.
he's had an on-again/off-again relationship with model analyn holmes for the majority of his career, so roughly six years. they're mostly off at this point, but occassionaly when they're in the same city, they get together. it's not really anything serious.

Fun Alloy Warband facts
Queen Jennah is a member of the warband but jokingly. It's a complicated reasoning, but she's like. They joke that she's part of the warband. She's not really. Too busy.
Several members of Dragon's Watch are also part of Alloy
Cyb and Ser chose the name because of how adaptable metal alloy is. They are the oldest members in the sense of how long they've been in the warband.
Cyb likes when non-charr members give themselves a warband name to use during warband missions. For example, Vie is Nightalloy.
After IBS but before EoD, Ryland is a temporary ward of the warband. He is under constant watch by Pluma and her birds.
Narcisa was the youngest member of the warband as of Claw Island. Up until about season 2 when Vie joined.
After taking down Zhaitan, the entire warband was moved from serving the Legions to serving the Pact. Now, after taking down all the elders, their future is... nebulous.
They are very willing to adopt in gladiums. If they were in the same timeline, Cyb would have been happy to welcome in Dion.
