Now Eddie was curled around Steve, his face buried in the back of Steve’s neck. The blanket was kicked off of the bed, and Steve’s lips were still red from kissing earlier—and from all the times that Eddie had bit him there, the vampire—and they were both only in boxers, because it was August. It was fucking hot, and Steve didn’t have the money for air conditioning right now, what with how little Family Video paid him. Honestly, they should give him a raise for all he does. He doesn’t even yell at the customers anymore unless they deserve it! And almost all of them do.

“Eds?” Steve muttered, tiredness creeping into his voice as he rubbed a hand gently across Eddie’s arms, which were wrapped around his waist.

“Hm?” Eddie hummed back, and Steve felt him press a kiss to his shoulder. He was probably covered in bruises there. And bitemarks. Eddie had said he would be gentle, but he had fucking lied. Not that Steve was complaining.

“Nothing,” Steve muttered, sighing and shifting on the bed, trying to unstick his thighs from Eddie’s. “Just wanted to make sure you were still awake.”

“Mhm,” Eddie hummed brightly, biting Steve’s shoulder gently, and Steve groaned, pressing his face into his hands and elbowing Eddie away with a smile hidden behind his fingers.

“You tired, baby?” Eddie muttered, and Steve nodded, relaxing again when he felt Eddie kiss over the irritated skin where he had bit.

“Go to sleep,” he whispered, burying his nose into Steve’s neck and kissing his shoulder again.

dude I am SO happy you mentioned the orpheus connection in your last (brilliant) costume meta. I've been saying this! the orpheus parallels between eddie begins and buck's coma are so clear to me (the water! the lightning! chris's voice calling them back!) and I didn't even THINK about the fact that eddie can't look at buck in the hospital. kissing your brain fr (I also can't help but to think of that line from portrait of a lady on fire - the characters are discussing orpheus and the choice to look back or not is described as "the lover's choice or the poet's," and the fact that eddie doesn't look is him is him making the "lover's choice." spiraling) thank you for the truly amazing work that you do!!

Rowan has been burned by love before? Does he hookup a lot or was it one love?

Yeah. The thing about Rowan is that he does do casual hookups but in reality it is never casual for him lol. He can have one night stands and such but he will develop feelings and that actually gets mentioned in the story. Rowan’s affinity for falling in love too hard and too fast is sort of written as a joke amongst MC and the band but there is sad truth to it.

That’s why I’m hesitant to make him a hookup option because if MC and Rowan hookup, I will have to make him fall for MC if I want to stay true to the character I created for him (only if MC willfully hooks up with him of course). I was going to make MC the exception but it just doesn’t sound like him. In fact, MC would def be his “one that got away” lover. But since he’s not an LI he’d just be pining over MC which seems particularly cruel 😭

I mean, I do give you guys the option to break up a marriage and engage in an affair so I have no qualms about emotional cruelty and i cant take the moral high ground 🤣🤣🫵 but the difference is that there’s a pay off with G and Vic. They can still get their happy endings while Rowan has to fuck off somewhere Lmao

BUT honestly it’s kind of fun just keeping him a head canon and a tumblr-exclusive character thing.

Plus, as other anon said, Rowan can find true love somewhere else.

How would the ROs react to a MC who chose only a chair to fight? Out of all weapons they can choose, out of any magical doohickey or clever scheme, they ignore the most obvious choice of weapon and hit the enemy over the head with a chair.

Florian: He's known you since childhood; he's come to expect and be amused by your nonsense.

Marcella: Same as Florian, except she would grab a chair and join in.

E: They've known you since childhood, and they're consistently exasperated by you.

Ari: She'd be confused at first, and would then provide backup so you don't get yourself killed. Expect a firm talking to after the fight.

Dimitri: You worry him so often that he's almost certain he's going to get ulcers from knowing you. He frets at you afterward.

Julian: He's highly amused and cheers you on. Seeing how pissed your opponents get makes his day.

Orion: He will confiscate the chair, sit you in the corner, and then take care of the fighting.

Rowan: They call you a dumbass afterward, but they're laughing. That's a huge win, seeing as Rowan almost never laughs.

Kira: She'll light the chair on fire for you, so now you're throwing a flaming chair. She's an enabler of chaos, so she approves.

Cier: He's also an enabler of chaos, and will hand you more chairs to throw while he lounges and enjoys the show.

Ilaria: Before you can fight with the chair, your enemy is already dead courtesy of her. From the look on her face, you might be next.

Ezrah: Who do you think taught you to fight with a chair in the first place? Him, of course.
