Eyeliner Emergency
Tumblr media
Rodrick x reader
Words: 371
Number 10. “Can you do my eyeliner?”
Authors note: heehee I actually picked this line with him in mind so I’m glad someone saw the vision
Tumblr media
Trying to control your breathing you ran up the stairs flinging his door open, “Rodrick, I’m here! What’s the emergency? Are you okay?”
His back was to you as he sat in a chair at the table on the far side of his room. He turned to you, with an eyeliner pencil in his hand and pouty lips, “can you do my eyeliner?”
Your mouth gaped for a moment in disbelief as you took steps to get to where he was, “tell me that wasn’t the emergency?”
“You always do a perfect wing at the end and I have no idea how to do that?”
You brought your hands up and Rodricks eyes widened as you grabbed the air in front of you and shook them a little before balling then into a fist and plastering a smile, “you know most boyfriends would consider a sprained ankle an emergency, not makeup.”
He grinned tilting his head proudly, “well I’m not like most boyfriends,” he began batting his eyes, “I’m unique.”
“That’s for sure,” you scoffed out.
“I have a show coming up soon and I want to change my look a little so I’m practicing now but I need help making wings and I figured who better to call than you? The master of them.”
He held up the pencil and you rolled your eyes fighting a smile as you grabbed it, “fine, let the master show you how it’s done.”
It should’ve been easy one, two, three done. But it’s a little bit harder when your client refuses to sit still.
First it was him staring at you and you had to get him to stop that, then it was him unable to stop laughing because apparently you were, “tickling him”.
Eventually you’ve had enough, “Rodrick, if you don’t sit still I’m leaving? This should not be this hard.”
“Okay I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
You nodded and he closed one of his eye while the other peeked open to watch the mirror and you went back to work.
“It’s not my fault my makeup artist is such a babe,” he mumbled.
He perked up to gauge your reaction and he smirked as you rolled your eyes and fought another smile.

part 2 to my last rodrick fic which u can read here !
summary: Rodrick proves his likeness for y/n through a spontaneous kiss leaving her smitten and dazed. However, thoughts of Heather still lingered in her mind, constantly being reminded of the blonde girl whenever she passed by. "Does Rodrick still like her?" "Does he even like me?" What happens when Heather suddenly takes interest in Rodrick after ignoring him for years just because she can't let y/n get what she wants.
wc: 2k plus
warnings: allusions to smut, heavy make out

2 weeks later...
the kiss, no not just the kiss but the two kisses rodrick and y/n shared that night resulted in their relationship. She had been left smitten and the feeling was one of those that even if you wanted to forget, you couldn't. The heart racing, blush inducing feeling of getting kissed on by rodrick the boy she'd been crushing on for years, with his rough boy lips which still managed to be soft and plush because well, he was Rodrick after all.
It was now a plain old Monday and she was lost daydreaming in her Calculus class, or was it english? She couldn't bother to take notice.
"Alright, take out your calculators and flip to page 56. We'll be grinding through the workbook today class!" Ms. Smith yelled whilst her big buggy glasses fell down the tip of her nose bridge, stopped by her finger which shoved them back in place. Y/n couldn't care less. Her mind was swarmed with what happened 2 weeks ago.
His lips grazed hers one more time, this time softer and one might say more lovingly if she was in a state of delirium. She felt his slender hand creep up the side of her hip brushing it against her shirt so so gently. He broke off the kiss and his face was so close to hers she felt as if she might faint right then and there. The boy who was rough, impatient and borderline rude crumbled in-front of her. She'd never seen Rodrick like this before. Each freckle, each fine line, each perfect imperfection visible to her now. She'd imagined this image thousands of times before, but never had she imagined it to come true. Rodrick hesitated before saying his next words "I- I really like you y/n. And- and i just want to set that clear before you try showing up to my house drunk silly again. You were being so wreck less you know that?" He chuckled dorky-ly ever so slightly which made her heart pound just a little harder. Her heart fluttered at how he cared for her.
"M'sorry I-i just, m'just so jealous." She slurred as her eyes began to tear up with a mix of happiness, jealousy, anger and most of all, sadness. "Why? You know i'm here for you and you only, stupid." Rodrick whispered so softly against her lips but y/n's mind swarmed with confusion. "B-but you always *hiccup* talk about Heather." She sighed as she let herself fall into her hands. "Makes it *hiccup* hard to believe" She said again. "I-" He moves further back and a familiar ache rises to her chest, one of abandonment. "She was just someone I was infatuated in. Nothing more. Fuck. If i really liked her, would i have kissed you back? Let alone kiss you again?" He said making eye contact this time. He looked absolutely illegal. The way his hair was his usual mess, his blown out eyeliner smudged beneath his fox eyes. His puffy lips. Everything about him made her feel unreasonably hot in the cool weather. "S-so no more feelings for her?" "No. no more." he said so seriously it made her scared. "In fact, she's an asshole and i don't want any part of her in my life." He said whilst memories of what Heather did earlier fled his mind. Rodrick plants a kiss at the corner of y/n's lips and this time she knows it was meant lovingly. Still, at the back of her mind, the one aching question lingered, didn't he say he loved her?
"Y/n?" "Ms y/n?" She blinked and the memory was interrupted by an annoying voice. "Do you care to open your workbook? Or do you intend on staring at the cover for the next hour?" Ms Smith's breath tickled the hairs on the back of her neck waking her from her daydreams of what happened that hazy night.
"Yea, sorry ms smith." She smiled tightly before flipping to page 66 or 57 the page number was was a blur to her, but an open book would do.
He planted a soft kiss at the crook of her neck.
suddenly her mind wandered to what happened later that night.
Hand riding up under her shirt. "is this okay?" His voice was earnest and soft against the skin of her neck.
her thighs clenched together unintentionally and she felt ashamed for imaging such lewd things. She'd been daydreaming about that night for the past few weeks. Each week making her crave for more until she felt sick. Rodrick hadn't made a move like that on her ever since, and she was just too shy to even ask so images in her mind would do for now.
He unclasped her bra in one swift motion and it made her question if he'd done this before, with... Heather? No, can't be, she doesn't even care for him. Right?
The kissing started to turn into making out and y/n felt his breathing falter when she brushed her pinky against his crotch by accident.
"Fuck do you even know what you're doing right now-"
"Ms. y/l/n!" Just as quickly as it started, her daydreaming had come to a halt.
"I've been calling your name for the past 5 minutes. Care to share your answer to the whole class? I assume you didn't even hear the question number i gave you. Number 5! Now." Ms. Smith tried to hush her yelling down to be more precarious.
"Sorry Ms." Y/n sighed before making her way to the black board with a dumb empty mind filled with Rodrick.
------------------
The same could be said about Rodrick. His usual sleepiness that was met with classes vanished ever since that night. Instead of sleeping, he was putting his pretty dumb brain to use by thinking. Thinking about y/n. Every night, everyday, every moment. He'd be lying if he said that she was the only girl he'd ever gained feelings for, because Heather Hills did exist. But it was true when he said he didn't like her anymore.
"Mmm- Aaah- R-rodrick p-please not my neck."
"Shhh, just one more kiss y/n, please."
"F-fuck!"
"FUCK FUCK FUCK FUC-"
Before Rodrick's dream could get any steamier he was awoken to the sound of Heather cursing just beside him, clearly to get someone's attention.
"FUCK! how am i going to do this!!!" Heathers voice was painfully exaggerated and Rodrick couldn't help but cringe. Was this the girl he was smitten by before?
"Oh- Hey Roddy!" Heather smirked as she twisted her body to face him.
Rodrick's head was rested on his arm and he couldn't help but look at her with dead eyes, clearly annoyed.
"You.... you play the drums right?"
"Mmm" Rodrick groaned as he scratched his temple, he was surprised at how much he didn't care for THE Heathers presence anymore.
"Was wondering if.... You'd wanna play a gig at my birthday party?"
Rodrick's eyes lit up. A gig? That was a once in a blue moon occasion to rodrick's ears. But reality struck him when he remembered it was Heather who was asking.
"Mmm sorry Heather, don't think i can." Though it ached him to decline the gig, he knew you wouldn't like it so he sucked it up. Rodrick felt a sense of pride when he realised he didn't stumble over his words around her anymore.
"Awwww but why! I'll pay you 50 bucks an hour, and you know my parties last long." She feigned a girly voice as she batted her long eyelashes which icked Rodrick out.
50 bucks an hour..... The offer was tempting but, you were even more tempting.
Before Rodrick could answer, you walked in the class with a goofy smile, ready to see your Rodrick with..... Heather.
Heather shot back daggers through a fake soft smile. The type she'd give to a teacher after almost being caught doing something.
"Oh... Hello there y/n! Sorry, Rodrick was just telling me about how he'd love to play drums at my party. Isn't that right Rodrick?"
"Wh- No?" Rodrick scoffed out, eyes squinting at the mischievous blue eyed blonde.
"Oh c'mon, don't lie to y/n just because you pity her! You're a man! Act like one." Heather said as she got up from her chair slightly agitated at the fact Rodrick didn't play along.
"See you there Roddy." Heather said before smirking and popping out her ass dramatically.
roddy... That nickname made y/n's blood boil and she never wanted to hear it again.
"I swear! I-I did not agree to any of the shit she just yapped about." Rodrick panicked whilst stumbling over his words like a nervous teenager, that familiar feeling rising again but this time towards y/n.
"Hard to believe Rodrick. Or should i say Roddy... God! i shouldnt have been so naive. I'm so stupid! I thought you were over her." Y/n lashed out before storming out the classroom in a hurry, not thinking straight.
"Wait! Fuck. That fucking bitch Heather." Rodrick sighed out as he reached for the class door.
You found yourself slanting against a crusty brick wall beside a half broken vending machine. You don't know why you overreacted so fast without even bothering to hear Rodrick's explanation but maybe it was because you were so stupidly insecure. You quickly fumbled around your pants pockets to find an old packet of ciggs you remembered you left there. There were 2 left so you lit one up and breathed in the pure comfort. It felt nice to not care just for a second with the cigarette around. When it could have gotten more peaceful you heard a set of obnoxious dorky feet approach you.
"Hey." Rodrick said lightly as he squatted down to your eye level, lanky hands hanging by each sides of his knees.
It made you jump a little and your facade of wanting to remain mad slowly revealed itself. You couldn't help but suppress a tight smile from leaking out.
"What" You said as you blew a whiff of smoke away from his face. His heart fluttered at the small gesture.
"I really did not agree to what Heather told you." He said seriously which was a rare look on Rodrick.
"Are you sure? Cuz it seems like you two are getting along just fine" Y/n sighed as she pushed her hair back, Rodrick's heart beat pounding harder by the second.
"Please, believe me I- I really did not agree to anything, I-I really want you to believe me please." Rodrick was pleading which was something she only saw when he was lovesick. At that moment she knew he couldn't harm her emotionally.
"Alright. Fine, I believe you." Y/n said with a tired voice, though deep down she was glad she could read Rodrick like an open book.
"Im so sorry." Rodrick sighs before nuzzling his head in the crook of her neck, still a nervous wreck whenever he handled her.
She releases her cig and reaches in to hug him back tightly and lovingly before breathing in the intoxicating scent of him. Far better than a cig.
Just around the corner was a cheeky little Heather, listening in to every single decibel of the convo. Heather tightly rolled her eyes and scoffed before it turned into a smirk. Something clicked in her head. She knew what she had to do.
She was going to fake it till she made it.

Teenage Dirtbag (Part 1/2)
Pairing: Rodrick Heffley x Reader
Summary: You and Rodrick Heffley grew up right next door to each other. You’re best friends and nothing could ever change that… at least that’s what you’ve always thought.
Rating: R 18+
Word count: 5k
A/N: I do not have a taglist
Tumblr media
Suburbia.
Middle class, overwhelmingly white, everybody knows your name, suburbia.
You hated it, you were making a run for it once you graduated and you were going to make it big time.
That is, if you could just survive your annoying little brother until then—
“Give it back you little turd—“
”Mom said no more name calling!” Your eleven year old brother giggled as he ran opposite of you around the dining room table. He held your toaster waffle in his grimy little hands.
”I don’t give a shit— you’re gonna make me late!” You ran left and he ran right, swiftly evading you.
”What? Afraid your boyfriend is gonna ditch you and make you walk to school!” He practically cackled.
”Rodricks not my— ughh, just give me my breakfast you shit!” You leapt across the table, making your brother squeal like a little girl.
”(Y/N),” your mother suddenly hissed, entering the kitchen, “What did I say about name calling?”
”He stole my breakfast,” you threw back, laying across the table.
”David give your sister her waffle back. And both of you, go over to the Heffley’s already, Susan’s doing me a favor by driving you to school David, don’t keep her waiting.” Your mother said pointedly, her heels clipping against the linoleum floor as she moved about the kitchen to get her coffee brewed before heading off to work.
She continued talking but as your eyes landed back on your brother, her voice suspiciously morphed into the teachers voice from the peanuts.
Your brothers eyes landed on you as well, your waffle held in the air. Both your eyes darting back and forth to the breakfast food. That was until he daringly put the waffle in his mouth and took a bite.
That’s fucking it—
“You know what mom?” You suddenly jumped off the table, sounding chipper, “Rodrick said that he could give David a ride to school instead.”
”What?” your brother asked apprehensively, suddenly shaking in his shoes at your words.
”Huh? Really?” She asked surprised, turning to look at you, “Rodrick Heffley said he’d drive your brother to school?” She clearly wasn’t buying it. After years and years of seeing that boy hang around you, she knew he wasn’t handing out favors.
”Yeah, really.” You grinned, your gaze suddenly snapping to your brother and pinning him to the spot. A threat and a promise hanging in the air.
”Well… tell him I said thank you then. And honey, don’t you think you went a little heavy on the eyeliner today— what did you do to your jeans!” She then hissed in horror at the gaping holes in the knees of your pants.
”Leave me alone, it’s cool,” you scoffed and walked around the table, grabbing your brothers arm tight and dragging him out of the kitchen.
“You’re joking— Rodrick doesn’t even have backseats—“ your brother panicked behind you.
”I know. Maybe think twice about whose waffle you decide to eat.” The two of you grabbed your backpacks before you opened and slammed the front door behind you.
“This is a cruel and unusual punishment— you can go to jail for this—“
”Can it idiot,” you snapped, dragging your brother to the house right next door. The house that belonged to the Heffleys.
You knocked on their front door before letting yourself in. It was practically your second home at this point and Susan told you not to even bother waiting for someone to answer the door.
You pushed him forward before letting yourself in.
“Hi Susan, Hi Frank,” you called out, not bothering to greet them properly before bounding up the stairs and letting your brother wander around on his own in search of Greg. You heard muffled responses from the kitchen.
Once on the second floor you headed straight for the attic staircase, taking two at a time before finding the lump under the bedsheets you were looking for.
Now it was time for your favorite game.
You made your way over to Rodricks bed, grabbing two drumsticks on the way. You weren’t even trying to be quiet, floorboards creaking loudly under your feet.
Soon you stood above him, a devious grin painted on your face at how peaceful he looked in his sleep.
Time to ruin that.
You took both drumsticks and carefully stuck each of them up his nose, giggling quietly as you managed to get them to stay stuck in his nose. You then quickly took out your phone and started taking as many pictures of him as you could before he woke up.
Rodrick sniffled, trying to breathe past the objects obstructing his airway. You giggled harder watching as his nostrils twitched and flared and soon his whole face was screwed up in discomfort.
You burst out loudly in a fit of laughter, doubling over as he shot out of bed in a panic, the drumsticks falling out of his nose with gravity.
His groggy mind took a second to grasp the situation, but once it did he was quickly reaching out for you.
”You little—“
You yelped as his arms wrapped around your waist and he pulled you down against the bed with him. You struggled in his grasp, still laughing as he pinned you against his chest.
“Let. Go.” You wheezed through your laughter.
”Delete those photos!”
You continued to struggle in his grasp before he suddenly let go, causing you to fall off the bed with a grunt.
You blinked, staring up at the ceiling until Rodricks head popped over the side of his bed. His eyes narrowing.
”Stealing my look?”
You scoffed, “You don’t own eyeliner Heffley— by the way, you have to drive my brother to school today.”
”What? Why?” He complained, eyes following you as you stood up and plopped yourself right on his bed.
”I need to teach the little shit a lesson.”
”And you had to drag me into it,” he flopped backwards onto his bed.
“Coming from the guy that drags me into nearly every stupid idea he has.”
”You come willingly,” he said, pointing at you with a drumstick.
”Sure I do. Now get dressed so we can go,” you jumped to your feet, sprinting back down the stairs, whatever he said next falling on deaf ears.
You made your way back down stairs and into the kitchen where the rest of the Heffley’s, plus your brother, were gathered.
You sat yourself down and kicked your feet up on the breakfast table, reaching over for a pop tart that sat out on the table.
”Mornin’” you greeted through a mouthful of food.
”Morning…” Frank trailed off, staring at your feet propped up right next to him. The newspaper in his hand forgotten.
”Honey, you know what I’ve said about feet on the table.”
You sighed, pulling your feet off and sitting cross legged on the chair instead. “Sorry.”
”That’s alright and uh… you look nice?”
”Thanks,” you grinned.
”Yeah, the makeup is a bold choice,” Greg muttered sarcastically, making your brother laugh.
You narrowed your eyes and shut the both of them up. Greg had always gotten on your nerves the same way your little brother did.
”Rodrick said he’d drive Greg and David to school so you don’t have to.”
”He is?” Susan questioned. However, her shock quickly turned into excitement, “And he suggested this himself?”
”Sure did,” you grinned, taking another bite of your pop tart.
”Why would he do that?” Greg asked.
”Maybe your brother’s turning a new coin, don’t stop him from growing as a person.”
Suddenly, all six of you heard a shriek, your heads whipping towards the staircase as Rodrick stomped down the stairs.
”Mom! What did you do to my pants!?” He exclaimed, running into the kitchen, lifting a leg and pointing to the matter at hand.
Your gaze followed where he directed and you had to stifle a laugh.
For some reason, the rips in his jeans were patched with baby pink fabric.
”Oh, I fixed them for you,” Susan grinned, satisfied with herself. “They were torn to shreds so I patched them up.”
Rodrick stared at his mother with wide eyes, completely at a loss for how to respond, “I ripped them on purpose. And why did you use pink!” You bit down on your lip to keep from laughing, as his voice was becoming squeaky with frustration.
Susan rolled her eyes with a shake of her head, “Honestly Rodrick, I do you a favor and you only complain about it. Why would you rip your jeans in the first place? So you can look sloppy at school?”
”He wants to trick people into thinking he’s a famous rockstar,” you threw in. “I told him it was a stupid idea and that he was wasting the hard earned money you spend on his clothes by tearing them up but he just wouldn’t listen to reason,” you shrugged.
”Wha— It was your idea!”
“I have no idea what you’re talking abou— ahh,” you yelped as Rodrick charged forward and grabbed your leg, lifting it above the table and practically knocking you off the chair. Manny suddenly clapping with all the commotion.
”See! You did it too,” he pointed to the giant rips at the knees in your jeans, “She’s lying mom, she helped me rip them—“
”Okay, enough,” Susan said sharply, “She’s not my child so I can’t scold her. And it’s already— 7:45,” She suddenly gasped, seeing how late it was, “Will you all get ready so you’re not late to school.”
”Fine. Where are my other jeans?” Rodrick asked, dropping your leg and making you grunt.
”In the wash. I checked all your other pairs for tears and they all smelled so I’m washing them now. You’re lucky I set aside a pair for you this morning.”
”You’re saying, I have to go to school in these?” Rodrick asked, pointing at the monstrosity in question.
”Yes. Maybe next time you’ll think twice before ruining your clothes. Now all of you go.”
You sighed, getting up from your seat and slinging your backpack over your shoulder, your pop tart still in hand.
You glanced down at Rodrick’s jeans again and scoffed out another laugh, before passing him.
”Gimme that,” Rodrick scoffed right back, snatching your pop tart and shoving it in his mouth.
”Hey— that was mine!”
”I don’t care, traitor,” Rodrick’s words muffled by the pop tart, “C’mon turd nuggets,” he yelled over his shoulder to the middle schoolers, who nervously followed you two.
”Calm down already. I’ll help you rip the patches off,” you rolled your eyes, pulling the front door open with him suddenly pushing you forward.
The younger kids shut the door behind all of you.
”I can’t with those two,” Susan sighed. “All these years and I still can’t figure out if they’re good or bad influences on each other.”
”Well, anyone that can keep Rodrick from sleeping straight through an entire day is good in my books,” Frank said, placing his newspaper down, and taking a sip of his coffee.
“… You’re sure you don’t think they’re in a relationship?” Susan asked, making Frank sigh.
“We’ve been over this honey. Rodrick’s too… he’s not…” Frank tried to select the words carefully as to not say out loud that he thought his son was dumb as a box of rocks. “I just don’t think he’d be able to keep a secret like that.”
”Yeah… you’re right I guess. They just— they seem to be,” Susan glanced at her youngest son, choosin her own words carefully now, “Very comfortable with each other.”
Frank looked up in thought, thinking about how close the two of you seemed… how much closer the two of you seemed after this summer specifically…. Even more specifically after a certain vacation you guys went on with your friends back in July. “You don’t think they’ve…”
Susan raised her eyebrows and shrugged.
”No— no, they couldn’t have.”
”I don’t know Frank. I’m just saying it’s something we should look out for. You know how teenagers are.”
Frank swallowed nervously at the thought of mini Rodricks running around the house.
If you had to choose, this was probably your favorite pastime. Riding around in the Löded Diper van, screaming Guns N Roses at the top of yours and Rodricks terrible voices, all the while tormenting your little brothers in the back.
Nothing beats this.
“Welcome to the jungle!— stop moving! I’m gonna stab you!” You yelled over the music as your head was practically in Rodricks lap as you tried to rip up the patches from his jeans… which wasn’t exactly a good look for either of you if anyone decided to look in.
”I’m trying!” He yelled back, “I can’t when I’m driving— stop pushing on my leg, you’re gonna make me hit the car in front of us.”
”You want these patches off or what?”
Rodrick just grunted in response, slamming on the breaks at a red light.
Your brothers’ screams in the back were like music to both of your ears.
“We’re gonna die,” David panted as both him and Greg finally stopped flying around the back of the van.
”I know,” Greg responded. “Why do we get stuck with these two as our siblings— I know someone whose brother takes him out for ice cream after school every Friday.”
”With our luck Rodrick and (Y/N) will get married one day and then we’ll never be able to get rid of them.”
”Ew— ahh!” Greg’s nose screwed up in disgust at the idea of you two marrying each other, right before being jolted backwards as Rodrick slammed on the gas.
A few more minutes of driving and you all came to another rough stop, the music clicking off. “Get out losers,” Rodrick yelled behind him, lifting his leg so you could get a better angle at ripping the threads.
”But we’re not at school,” Greg said, peering out the back window.
”You both have two legs. Walk,” You answered back, throwing a pink patch behind your seats.
”You two just wanna make out, don’t you,” Your brother spat.
You and Rodrick instinctively looked at each other, faces screwed up in disgust.
”Ew,” he hissed.
”As if,” you scoffed, “Now go before I kick your ass.”
You managed to rip off the rest of the patches before school started, his jeans once again looking like the distressed mess you both created in the first place. And you only got away with one stab to his leg, and a little bit of blood but he didn’t need to know about that part.
Parking the van, you both stumbled out, making your way to the building for another day full of napping through lessons.
And hey, you were only twenty minutes late today.
You truly didn’t understand why you and the rest of your friends even bothered with school at this point. You weren’t sure a single one of you got through an entire day without skipping or falling asleep in at least one class and you all just copied off of others homework.
Those friends, being the rest of the members of Löded Diper… you didn’t have many girlfriends, for some reason they thought it was weird you hung out around these guys so much. But you didn’t care, you were all going to be famous after high school. You were only a roadie and supporter of the band but that wasn’t going to stop you from becoming famous.
Before you knew it, this fine Friday was over and you and the band would be free for the entire weekend to screw around like usual.
By 3:10 you were climbing into the passenger side of Rodrick’s van once again. Rodrick in the drivers seat and the rest of the guys in the back.
As if on cue, an arm was thrown around the back of your seat and a head popped between you and Rodrick.
“Hello beautiful,” Ben greeted, leaning forward to place a kiss on your cheek only to be stopped by your hand against his face.
”Hi Ben,” you grinned, “And how was your day?”
”Good,” he mumbled against your hand, picking his lips against your palm in a weak kiss.
”Enough,” Rodrick said, pushing his friend into the back by the shoulder.
”I’m impressed,” you said, seeing all three of them there, “Not a single one of us got detention today.”
”No, I did,” Chris said, “I’m just skipping.”
”Nice,” the rest of you nodded.
With that Rodrick put the van into drive and sped out of the school’s parking lot.
Unlike your little brothers, Ben, Chris, and eventually Bill once you picked him up, actually knew how to have fun. They all laughed and cheered as they were being thrown around the van instead of whining like a bunch of babies.
Finally making it into the garage of the Heffley’s house you found yourself making yourself comfortable on the couch in the garage as Löded Diper began their rehearsal, cheering for them as they all played.
The other thing about the suburbs was when you were stuck in high school and you lived in the suburbs, the monotony of it all took quite the toll on you. There was nothing to keep you occupied, no way to have fun, which was why you and Rodrick were usually left to your own devices and had to find the fun somewhere else.
You would include the other guys as you were all together for the most part, but living right next door to the Heffleys and not only that, being able to see into each other’s rooms, you and Rodrick did tend to spend most of your time together. Because even when you weren’t allowed to see each other due to being grounded or whatnot, you still both snuck each other into the other’s room just to hang out.
Huh… you were starting to see why your brother was convinced you two were dating.
And maybe you would if you were Heather or Rodrick was… literally anybody else.
It was an hour into rehearsal already, you bopped your head along with the atrocious music, singing their awful lyrics to yourself.
That was until Susan came in.
”Rodrick,” she tried, but they kept playing, “Rodrick,” she tried again, this time effectively getting all of you to shut up. “I need to talk to you inside. Now.”
”Oooh,” you instigated, quickly shutting up when Susan shot you a look.
Rodrick stood up, walking around the drumset, “Go ahead and talk. We’re a band,” he came to a stop in front of his mom, “We have no secrets.”
”Okay, fine.” She then pulled out a magazine from behind her back and held it in front of her. Your eyes nearly popped out of your head at the dirty magazine she found.
Rodrick was stunned, “Tha—“ he pointed at the magazine, “That’s not mine,” he was wavering, you could tell.
”Well, it was in your backpack—“
”No, it was in my room.”
Idiot.
“Does owning this magazine make you a better person?”
It looked like it was time for a lecture.
“No.”
”Did it make you more popular at school?”
“Yes,” Rodrick nodded, looking around at all of you before his eyes landed back on his mom and he realized that that was in fact the wrong answer, “No.” he quickly took back.
“How do you feel about,” she took a step forward, “Having owned this, type of magazine?”
Rodrick thought for a second, “… Ashamed,” he grinned.
”Nice,” Chris cheered.
Susan nodded, her grip so tight on the magazine that you were sure she’d rip it any second. She took another step forward, face to face with her son, “Do you have anything you want to say,” she placed a hand over her heart, “To women. For having owned this offensive magazine?”
Rodrick stared down at his mom, struggling for words.
“I’m sorry, women.”
The rest of the guys started clapping for Rodrick until Susan pinned them with a sharp look, making them stop.
”And I want you to apologize to (Y/N).”
Rodrick scoffed, glancing at you on the couch before looking back at his mom, “Why?”
”Why?” Susan asked, affronted, “Because she is a beautiful young woman that you consider a friend. Owning this magazine is offensive to girls like her.”
”Um… I don’t really care Susan—“ you quickly shut your mouth as she shot you another look.
”Yeah but (Y/N) isn’t like a woman woman,” Rodrick said.
“Excuse me?” Susan hissed.
”Y’know what I mean,” he was starting to flounder again, “She-she’s not like the women in the magazine…” he trailed off.
”What? Just because she isn’t taking naked photos on motorcycles, you don’t consider her a woman?”
”I wouldn’t be opposed to that,” Ben suddenly tried to joke, making you roll your eyes.
Susan ignored him, watching as Rodrick really didn’t know the answer to these questions anymore. “Uh— yes— no. I don’t know, she’s just (Y/N)—“
”Apologize,” she cut him off sharply.
Rodrick then shuffled his way to you, standing in front of your seated form, “I’m sorry for owning that magazine (Y/N).”
“And,” Susan snapped.
”And for not seeing you as a woman…?” He glanced back at his mom to make sure he said the right thing but was only met with an eye roll.
”I forgive you,” you played along, “And don’t worry. I don’t see you as a man,” you grinned sharply as the others all cheered at your diss.
“You’re grounded for two weeks,” Susan said, she was so angry her voice was shaking. She then swiftly turned around and began to stalk out of the garage.
”Ok settle down Susan. I think one week is plenty!”
She quickly turned back around on her heel, “Make it four weeks and I’m gonna need the keys to your van!”
”My van?”
”Yes. Your van. And I want all of you out of here in an hour.” With that she turned around and left the garage.
”I’m gonna become a stripper just to spite you Heffley,” you grunted in annoyance at his whole woman comment about you.
”Yes! I support you (Y/N)!” Ben cheered.
“Yeah that’ll show me,” Rodrick grumbled, “Let’s just get one more song in.” With that he seated himself behind his drum set and the boys practiced for some more.
“I bet you feel pretty stupid now for owning that magazine,” you called out, sitting on the roof just outside your window, staring up at Rodrick as he leaned out his window.
”I don’t even know how she found it,” he practically whined. “I hid it under my bed, and she never checks there anymore after The Thing she found under there.”
”Oh right, that.” You shivered at the memory of what you and Rodrick now called ‘The Thing’ that may have been alive at one point under his bed. “Did she take your keys yet.”
”Yeah.”
”Are you banned from driving to school too?”
”I’m banned from driving anywhere. That includes your car.”
”Shit.” You hissed. That meant you’d have to drive the two of you to school instead and you weren’t exactly comfortable behind the wheel yet.
A comfortable silence filled the air between you two, and you sighed, basking in the cooling air as the sun was setting.
”Y’know Heather Hills asked about you today.”
”Really?”
”No,” you laughed. He always fell for that.
He frowned, ”Yeah well, Nick asked about you today.”
”Really?”
”No,” he laughed loudly.
Oh right. You always fell for that too.
”Asshole.”
”Bitch.”
“I’m gonna tell your mother you’re not being very respectful towards women again.”
”Then have fun driving me to school for two months instead of one.”
”Whatever,” you grumbled under your breath. “Are we still hanging out tomorrow or are you taking the grounding thing seriously this time.”
”We can hang,” he grumbled gnawing at a hangnail now. “Y’know it was probably my stupid brother that told her.”
”Maybe it was. He likes sneaking into your room doesn’t he.”
”Yeah…. Yeah,” Rodrick’s eyes lit up as he seemed to realize something, “That little—“ Rodrick quickly took off after that, leaving you to laugh at the entire situation by yourself.
People often wonder why me and Rodrick aren’t a couple. And I always tell them that I grew up with him. I see him nearly 24/7. He’s usually the first person I talk to in the morning. We have breakfast together, go to school together, we even share a bunch of the same classes. We usually even get detention together. We also torture our brothers together.
And what am I supposed to do after school when I’m bored and alone at home? Well I’d just have to go over to my best friends house that I’ve already seen all day anyway, because what else am I supposed to do? And what? Am I just not supposed to hang out with him and the other guys when they come over to rehearse. We even used to have sleepovers a lot when we were younger, but ever since high school our parents banned us from those. I think they’re scared we’re gonna fuck or something.
As if.
Rodrick’s more like a brother to me I think. I mean, I see him just as much if not more than my own brother anyway.
So of course I wouldn’t fuck him. You don’t fuck your brother bcuz ew.
Anyway… today Rodrick got grounded today because his mom found one of his dirty magazines. I was pretty sure Greg was to blame and turns out I was right, Rodrick texted me like ten minutes ago that Greg stole his stash and was holding them as black mail. But Rodrick managed to get him to give them back. So much for Greg’s plan I guess.
And now I’m just writing in here, sitting on the bathroom floor, naked in a towel. I just took a shower and I’m being too lazy to get dressed right now… I’m blasting some Metallica right now and damn they’re good. Too bad Löded Diper doesn’t sound like them. At least they got passion I guess.
Anyway… I guess I should stop being lazy and actually get dressed.
You slammed your diary shut, shaking out your cramped writing hand.
You stood up, not bothering to take the towel with you and just abandoning it on your bathroom floor along with your diary. You sang softly along to Master of Puppets playing in your bedroom, nodding your head along to the beat.
You shoved your bathroom door open, the music in your bedroom louder now as you swayed along to it.
You bounded over to your dresser, leaving damp foot prints in your carpet. You jumped over the blood stain on your rug. You had Rodrick to thank for that one after he cracked a bat over your head, thinking you were Greg instead… the entire week after that was a blur.
You pulled open your underwear drawer with the one good knob, the knob missing on the other side of the drawer was thanks to your brother crashing into your dresser one day.
You pulled out a pair and shimmied them up your legs as you continued to dance along with the music.
Now however, there was a full concert on blast in your head. It took you a while to find the discarded T-shirt you usually slept in, especially with the distraction of the music playing but eventually you found it rolled up in your comforter as usual. And finally as the song ended you pulled on the Löded Diper t-shirt Rodrick made for you.
However, what you saw quickly got rid of the good mood you were in. Because once your head popped through the hole, you made direct eye contact with Rodrick Heffley through your windows.
You forgot to close your fucking blinds.
He was in shock… you were in shock. His jaw hung open, eyes popping out of his head.
The next thing that happened you were sure the entire neighborhood heard as you and Rodrick both screamed at the top of your lungs. He ran straight out of his room and you ran straight for the blinds that you quickly shut.
Your best friend just saw you butt ass naked.
Extra:
Frank walked into his bedroom, ready to settle down for the night after a long night of painting his Civil War figurines.
As he began unbuttoning his button down, he had found his wife already in bed with a magazine in hand.
Everything seemed as usual… that was until he did a double take of the magazine in her hands.
”Uh… Honey?” He asked carefully, approaching her side of the bed. “Whatcha reading?”
“I found this in Rodrick’s backpack today,” she huffed, clearly still angry with her son.
”Okay… is there a reason you’re ‘reading’ it then?”
She looked up at her husband. “I was about to toss it out when I realized some of the pages were dog eared, so like any concerned mother I decided to take a look at what exactly my son is looking at so often that he has to dog ear it.”
”Right, yeah. Cause that’s… rational,” Frank spoke hesitantly.
”And look!” She opened one of the pages that were dog eared and showed Frank a two page spread of some naked woman. Frank quickly panicked and looked up at the ceiling.
“Uh huh?” He nodded.
”Frank, tell me who this girl looks like.”
Frank glanced back down carefully at the pages, before his eyes widened in realization. He yanked the magazine from her hands.
”She— That’s (Y/N)!” He realized in horror that his son was actively searching for naked women that looked like his best friend, whether or not he was aware of that, Frank didn’t know.
Suddenly saying it out loud sent a shiver down both their spines and Frank quickly shut the magazine. They both agreed that was enough for tonight.
But the vision of the mini Rodricks was becoming more and more vivid by the second.

Could you possibly write something small about a beach date with Rodrick 😍
Rodrick x reader
Sorry this took so long! Me mam tried to sell me to one direction so I was slightly preoccupied 🙄
Anyways enough jibber jabber, here's a lil fluff about a beach date with Rodrick :^)
Tumblr media
The heffleys had invited you on a trip to the beach, since you and Rodrick had been together for some time now, it was pretty much routine for you to come along to family events at this point.
You and Rodrick drove in his van separately from everyone else, truth be told, you were relieved. You loved the heffleys but you weren't so keen on the music they played in the car.
"You excited babe?" Rodrick turned to look at you
"Can't wait! I was looking up the beach on Google, there's quite a few rock pools so we might see some cool sealife!"
Rodrick's face lit up at this
"Like a crab?!" He asked
"Yes honey, like a crab" you smiled at your easily amused boyfriend.
"Awesome. I fucking love crabs" he said.
Upon arrival Susan and Frank were happy to see the pair of you, they both approached to greet you, when seemingly out of nowhere Greg appeared, flinging his arms around you.
"Hey lil dude! Nice to see you" You beamed down at him
"Great to see you too! I've got all the stuff set up!" He replied excitedly
You were confused for a second, before looking just past him and seeing an abundance of different sized buckets and spades. You finally remembered, last time you'd seen the Heffleys you'd promised Greg you'd be on his team against Rodrick for a sandcastle building competition.
"Rodrick I love you, but you are so going down" you said, playfully poking him in the ribs before running off to the equipment with Greg.
"Hey no fair! You guys don't get a head start!" He called after the two of you.
The sandcastle competition was definitely pretty tense, you and Greg had opted for a "bigger = better" strategy, and had come up with a 3 storey castle.
Rodrick's, while much smaller, was more detail oriented. He'd decorated it with little stones, and even carved out little battlements.
When the time was up, the three of you went to get Susan and Frank to judge, but when you'd returned only one castle was left.  It would appear that Manny had decided that Rodrick's Castle was the perfect race course for one of his toy trucks, and in the few seconds you were all gone, he'd reduced it to rubble.
"Ha! We won!" Greg jeered.
You looked at Rodrick, who seemed genuinely disappointed.
"Aw baby," you stroked his arm, "I think your castle was Manny's favourite at least"
He smiled slightly at this, but still seemed slightly miffed that all his hard work was ruined.
Never mind, you knew exactly how to cheer him up
"How about we go check out those rock pools?" You asked.
Rodrick grinned excitedly, immediately forgetting about the sand castle, "oh yeah! I hope we see something cool!" He beamed, grabbing your hand and eagerly pulling you in the direction of the rocks.
You carefully climbed onto the glistening wet rocks, made just that bit more treacherous by the odd bit of seaweed and sharp barnacles. You held onto Rodrick tightly, fearing that his clumsy self would slip and accidentally keelhaul himself.
(A/n if you don't know what keelhaulling is, look it up at your own risk. It's pretty gnarly).
"What are those things?" Rodrick asked curiously, pointing towards tufts of purple sticking out from the sides of the rock pools.
"Sea anemones! Be really gentle and touch them, see what happens" you encouraged him.
Rodrick looked slightly nervous, but he trusted you. He dipped his finger into the shallow water and felt the tiny tentacles grip his finger. He giggled high pitch and very amused, before pulling his hand away and shaking it dry.
"It was like, sticky?" He said
You laughed at his reaction, he was adorable when he was confused.
"That was it trying to eat you! It thought your finger was a little fish!"
"Really?!"
"Mhm"
"That's so funny," he bent down to look at the anemone, "you're no match for me little bro" he said cockily.
You were unsure as to whether he was joking, or if he was genuinely proud of not being eaten by a gelatinous blob the size of a penny. Probably the latter, knowing Rodrick, but either way you find it endearing.
You spent quite a while trapesing around the rock pools, Rodrick seemingly fascinated by everything- particularly the little clusters of sea snails. He likened their pointy shells to his studded bracelet, affectionately giving them the title of "most metal animal he'd seen all day". His day was made, however, when you called him over to a tiny pool right at the edge of the rocks.
"Baby, come quick!"
He rushed over, abandoning the clump of seaweed he'd been popping like bubblewrap, and turned his attention towards what you'd been pointing at.
There, nestled inbetween a few tufts of seaweed, sat the tiniest little crab, it's body not much bigger than the tip of a pinky finger. As Rodrick kneeled down to get a closer look, his face was graced with a wide, goofy smile. He looked between you and the crab for a few seconds, before blurting out "it's a little baby!", his voice high and girlish.
You let out a chuckle at this, watching your boyfriend's eyes grow in amazement and glee at the sight of such a small crab. His attention was fixed to it for as long as it sat there, until the crab must have decided that staring back at the squealing Rodrick had become tedious, and scuttled away under some pebbles.
Rodrick finally stood once again, and reached out to hold your hands.
"That was so cool," he said, his eyes twinkling and his smile somehow even more loveable than ever.
"You're so cute," you replied, unable to contain your adoration any longer. You placed your arms over his shoulders, while instinctively, Rodrick held your waist.
You leaned in and planted a delicate kiss on his lips. Sometimes it was hard to remember he was a hardcore punk guy with a big beat up van, and an affinity for moshing. At times like this, all you saw was an innocent, precious sweetheart. You just wanted to hold his face and pepper it with gentle kisses, while showering him with compliments like "my handsome boy," and "you're the cutest thing in the whole world". You probably would later, but not right now. He'd never live it down if his family saw him being such a big softie.
You allowed yourself to get lost in his big brown eyes for a moment longer, before you heard Frank calling the two of you to come and get some food.
I love you, you thought to yourself as Rodrick carefully guided you down the rocks. As if he could read your mind, he threw an arm round your shoulder and whispered in your ear
"I love you, y/n"
A/n requests are open! I write hcs and short fics for a couple characters, check my pinned post for details! :^)

Yo what about just sittin on Rodrick’s lap as he discusses stuff with the band
Thanks for the request
Tumblr media
Rodrick munched on the snacks that he stole borrowed from Greg's secret stash that he shared with his friends as they lounged on the living room couch, Evanescence playing on his tv.
His friend Adam mumbled. "Rodrick, will we get famous like that?" Rodrick looked up at the tv as he finally got time free from munching snacks.
"Adam, I can see it. In 10 years, people will fly from all over the world just to see us perform. We will do actual world tours." His friends looked at him, smiling as he continued.
Rodrick stood on his couch. "We will tour South America, Europe, and Asia." His friends cheered, but a particular cheer caught his attention. He turned around to see his girl Y/n clapping for him. He leapt over the couch, picked her up without effort, and twirled her around. "And you, my sweet girl, will manage our band."
Y/n put her hand on her chest. "It will be an honour, rockstar."
Rodrick couldn't help but blush. He loved it when Y/n would take pride in his music and would talk about it with her friends. He thanked his lucky stars that he found her.
"You got real quiet there. What are you thinking?" Y/n whispered as she fixed his hair.
"I am so lucky that you love me. You have always supported me, always been so kind to me. Although you can get annoying when I don't shower." He cupped her face, dodging her fingers as she tried to tickle him.
"Come on, sit with me, doll. Watch as history happens." Rodrick tugged her to where he was sitting with his friends. They all greeted her with a smile and went back to suggesting titles for their songs. He smirked when she sat on his lap, pecking her cheek as he started discussing song titles with his friends.
................................................................................
Y/n suddenly woke up and realised it had got dark outside. She looked around and realised she was still sitting on Rodrick's lap. She looked up and smiled as her heart was filled with love as she saw him sleeping peacefully.
She started to get up, but Rodrick's grip on her waist tightened. Y/n pinched his nose as a smirk spread on his lips. Why didn't you wake me up?"
"Greg is at Rowley's home, and Mom and Dad have taken Manny to Grandma's home. It's just you and me at home right now," he smirked as he wrapped her arms around her waist.
"What are you planning?" Y/n asked as the back of her finger brushed his cheek.
"Just stay with me. We don't have to do anything. I just want to hold you." His chocolate-brown eyes looked at her, pleading for her to stay.
Y/n nodded. "Ok. I'll stay, and you can rant about Greg all you want."
She felt like she fell more in love with him as his face lightened up and he held her closer to him. Y/n heard him taking a deep breath as she laid her head on his chest.
She looked up at him. "Is something bothering you?"
Rodrick's eyes widened. It always took him by surprise how she always took him by surprise how she would know how he really felt. He sighed, trying to find the correct words to say.
"I made pretty big promises in front of my friends. But what if we don't fulfil those promises."
Y/n realised he was getting insecure. "Now, it's not just your dream to do a world tour, Rodrick. It's your goal. It's one of your biggest goals. Take one step at a time. Do your shows locally, get a professional manager, and keep working on your music...there are so many things to do, Rodrick, and you have just started. So please don't give up." she kissed him as she held his hand, letting him know she was there for him.
Rodrick broke the kiss. He needed to see her, to take her beauty in. "I don't deserve you." He breathlessly mumbled against her lips before kissing her again. "I love you so much." he peppered kisses all over her face. He had to let her know how much he loved her.
"And I love you too, rockstar." Y/n kissed him back as a promise to be with him through thick and thin.
A/N: I know I am late sorry. I got busy anyways I hope you like it. REBLOGS AND COMMENTS ARE APPRECIATED.

SMILE, YOU'RE ON CANDID CAMERA !
in search of something, you find Rodrick's old camcorder in his room. | gif credit | fem!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Where is it," you mumbled to yourself as you wearily dug through the piles of clothes and other clutter in Rodrick's permanently messy room. Every attempt you've made at trying to clean it has ended with you giving up after a while or the room returning to its original state in just a few days, so you've decided to give up completely.
"What're you looking for?" Rodrick asked as he busied himself scribbling in his notebook, no doubt some new idea for his bandmates. "My lipgloss," you answered, moving your search to his busted bedside drawer. It was hard to see what you were working with; the only real source of light coming from the ugly lava lamp and whatever other fairy lights or lamps he hoarded. "You're not gonna find it," he said matter-of-factly, looking at you as you stuck your arm as deep into the drawer's end to try and get a feel. "It's probably already—"
His thoughts were interrupted when you let out a small gasp, your eyes widening in excitement as you pulled something out of the drawer. "What is it?" he asked, thinking you might have found one of the magazines his mother had scolded him about, until he saw you pull out the old camcorder he used to terrorize his brother with.
"Do you think it still works?" you asked, searching for the small power button. He shrugged, shuffling towards the end of the bed and resting his back against the iron headboard. To your surprise, it did turn on, the LDC monitor catching the small specks of light all around the room. "It's still got some battery," you said, pointing the lens at your boyfriend. "How's about we make a movie?" you added with a smile, raising your eyebrows playfully.
"Ew," was all he said, and you couldn't help but laugh at the way his eyebrows scrunched at your faux suggestiveness. You placed your eye in the viewfinder and flicked the little 'start' button. The flash of the camera startled the both of you, and you laughed when you saw Rodrick's annoyed expression. "You not gonna crack a smile?" you asked softly. He was still scribbling in his notebook, deadset on not giving you the satisfaction of playing along. You huffed behind the camera, your unoccupied hand reaching out and raising his head by a grip you had on the sides of his face. He surprisingly complied and raised his head looking at you rather than at the camera's lense.
"There he is! My favourite boy! Isn't he the cutest?!" you laid it on thick, taking the hand that still held his face to squeeze his cheeks together, causing him to pout. In an awkward shift, you moved your body to sit right in Rodrick's lap, turning the camera around in your hand so that it was on both of you now. In an over-exaggerated motion, you placed a fat kiss right on the apple of his cheek before ending the recording. Once the bright light was no longer shining in his eyes, he let out a sigh of relief. You rolled your eyes before sparing him another kiss on the opposite cheek. "Big baby," you muttered playfully before moving from his lap to begin your search for the camera's charger, lipgloss long forgotten.

Rodrick heffley X F!reader

It’s Rodrick and y/n’s first sleepover
The sound of Rodrick's van honking outside my house instantly excites me. Tonight is our first-ever sleepover. I grab my bright pink duffle bag and bound down the stairs, where I find my mom in the hallway giving me a concerned look.
"Y/n, you be careful. I don’t want you getting into any nonsense," she advises.
I nod, blow her a kiss, and then smile at my dad who's practically glaring at the beat-up van with 'Löded Diper' amateurly spray painted across it.
I leave the house, shivering in the cold air, and start walking towards the van. Rodrick jumps out at the last minute, eagerly opening the door for me before wrapping his arms around me, then hopping back in.
I step into the van and chuckle at his hurried behavior.
"What's got you in such a hurry, Roddy?" I ask.
"You know your dad creeps me out," he admits as he steps into the car and leans over to give me a quick kiss, letting out a contented sigh.
"Mhmm. I missed you so much," he murmurs.
"Did you miss me or just my lips?" I ask playfully.
"Both," he answers, giving me a sly smile and booping my nose before starting up the van.
Rodrick practically drags me into his house. When we get inside, I try to greet his mom and Greg, but Rodrick is pulling my hand up the stairs, so I just give them a sorry smile and follow him. Once we're in his room, he gives me a hopeful smile.
"So, what now?" he asks.
"I don't know, Rodrick. What do you wanna do?"
He sits down on the edge of his bed.
"How 'bout we put on a movie or something?"
And that's exactly what we do. He selects some obscure emo film, and I lie down next to him, resting my head on his chest.
Eventually, the air grows heavy with sleepiness, and the movie loses its appeal. I sit up and look at Rodrick, paying close attention to his expressive eyes and fluffy eyebrows.
"Hey, can I sit here?" I ask, straddling his stomach.
"Mhmm," he says, his hands instinctively finding my waist and toying with my pajama pants from Victoria's Secret. I lean in close, running my thumb over one of his eyebrows, watching the arch in awe.
"You have great eyebrows, Roddy," I say with a touch of amusement.
He chuckles, his hands moving up to my stomach, giving me a gentle squeeze.
I can tell he's getting tired, and I am too. I run my fingers over his eyelids, gently coaxing them closed. I trace over his nose and brow bone, until after a few minutes, I hear his breathing soften. He's asleep, and so should I be. I reach to turn off the light and lay my head down on his chest, listening to the comforting rhythm of his heart.
A/n: this is my first fic on tumblr, please don’t bully me and please request. I will probably write for Rodrick, jersey shore, shameless, and umbrella academy, but I’m open to requests on anyone

I never would have guessed that the same day I lost my only friends would be the day I met my new one.
Heather Hills and I had been best friends since second grade. In fifth, Gracie Miller had made our duo a trio, and ever since then we'd been right as anything. Doing everything together, constantly hanging out and sleeping over at each others houses, planning birthday parties together and giggling over boys together.
But this year? Something was different. Heather and Gracie were acting strange. Like, I'd walk up to them while they were talking and they'd get all quiet, real fast. I'd catch them hanging out without me, finding out via social media.
I was trying to ignore the signs, acting as if everything was as it had always been. But I couldn't anymore.
At lunch earlier today, I'd suggested a visit to the mall after school. We hadn't hung out in a while, and I was missing my girls. Sure, we hung out at school everyday, but all the desks were two seater only. I'll leave it to your imagination who was the odd one out.
Besides, I was in desperate need for clothes. My mother had died when I was just a baby, and my dad was always struggling to make ends meet. I had recently grown out of basically all my clothing, so I'd been saving up every scrap of money I could, working odd jobs for all our neighbours, and finally had enough to go on a little shopping trip.
Heather wrinkled her nose. "I have a dentist appointment, and I'm too tired for the mall today."
I nodded. "That's fair. Get a good night's sleep, tonight, yeah?"
She gave me a tight-lipped smile. "Mhm."
I looked at Gracie. "What about you, Cee?"
She hesitated, glanced at Heather, then shook her head. "I- I have a lot of homework I need to catch up on. Sorry."
I smiled. "No worries. We'll find a time to go."
School had finished twenty minutes ago. I'd said goodbye to the girls at the gate, waved as they climbed into Heather's mum's car (Gracie always got a ride home with them as they lived basically next door to each other) and started the fifteen minute walk to the local mall.
Inside, however, I was met with a nasty surprise. Standing together at the smoothie bar, Heather and Gracie were giggling about something, drinks in hand.
I suddenly felt like I had no air. A lump grew in my throat, and I had to fight to not cry. I turn, and storm back outside. I collapse on a park bench a few hundred meters away, in a little sidewalk park.
Hot, angry, betrayed tears fill my eyes, and I don't stop them this time. I feel so stupid, so angry, so hurt. I should've known. I should have seen the signs, not ignored them like I'd tried to. They didn't want me around anymore. They didn't need me.
I don't know how long I stay there, crying, and silently screaming at myself.
Suddenly, I feel a hand on my shoulder. I glance up, startled, and hastily brush at my tears. My glasses have fogged up, a few tears staring the lenses. I pull a tissue from my backpack, and quickly wipe them clean.
"Are you alright?"
I glance again at the person. It's a boy, probably my age, with messy brown hair and pretty eyes. He wears a black tshirt with the words 'fuck the patriarchy' on it, with a blue and black flannel over the top. He has black converse, like me, and denim jeans, also like me.
"H-hi," I manage, my voice scratchy from crying. "Can I help you?"
The boy frowns in concern. "You were crying." He says it like a statement, not a question. Not like he's asking why I was crying, but rather just wondering if I was okay.
"I'm fine." I blink away the fresh tears threatening to rise. I won't cry in front of this cute guy again. Once is embarrassing enough. Twice would be unbearable.
"Okay," the boy says, in a voice that implies he doesn't even kind of believe me. "Want some company? You planning on going shopping?"
I frown slightly. "Uh, yeah. I need new clothes. I've been saving up."
The boy tilts his head. "What size are you?"
My eyes widen in surprise, but before I can speak he yelps a little, holding his hands up in surrender.
"I mean- No! I didn't mean it like that. It's just- I just- I have a lot of spare things I don't wear anymore and well, you look like you might fit them. No use using your savings if you don't have to."
I consider this. Usually I don't like charity much, it makes me feel like a desperately poor person, when I'm not poor, just short on cash. But this boy seems really genuine, and I like his style, so maybe the offer of old clothes is a good one to accept.
"Sure, I'd love that," I say. "I'm Y/n." I stand, holding out my hand to shake.
He smiles, and my day gets just a little brighter. "It's lovely to meet you, Y/n. Now c'mon. I'll drive you to my place."
I follow him to the carpark, and he opens the shotgun door of a white van, marked with "Löded Diper" on the side.
"Should I be worried about getting into a white van belonging to a total stranger?" I ask teasingly.
The boy laughs. "Nah, you're good. The only people I'm kidnapping with this van are my little dork brother and his friend."
I laugh, climb into the van, and let him shut the door. When he slides into the drivers seat, I look over at him.
"You know, I still don't know your name."
He looks at me with a mischievous glint in his eye. "Would you believe me if I told you my name was Sir Lancelot Broccoli Vladimir the First?"
I pretend to consider it. "Hmmm, no, not really."
I look at him, and for a whole second we hold the serious act. Then we explode to a fit of laughter.
"No, but really," I manage, striving for composure. "What is your name?"
"Rodrick," he says. "Rodrick Heffley."
"Well it's lovely to meet you, Rodrick Heffley."
He grins. "Okay, Y/n Whatever-Your-Last-Name-Is, ready for a dangerous drive back to my place?"
I raise an eyebrow. "Why not?"
In hindsight, I would've preferred walking there, but Rodrick, and his eyes and his smile and his laugh, they made the almost terrifying experience of his driving kinda worth it.
His house was simple and white, the yard pretty but plain. It looked like a totally normal home.
Rodrick opens the front door for me, holding it open as he smiles down at me. I return it as I duck under his arm, and step into the hallway.
A women steps into the hall, a small boy in her arms. She's pretty, with glasses and shiny brown hair. she sees me and smiles in pleasant surprise.
"Oh, hello there." She steps over and hold her hand out. "I'm Susan. It's lovely to meet you."
As I shake her hand, she glances at Rodrick, a thousand questions in her eyes.
"She's a friend," Rodrick says. "Don't make it weird, Mum."
She smiles. "Oh no no, I won't, honey, I promise."
"Come on, Y/n," Rodrick says, and grabs my hand, steering me away from his mother.
We climb the stairs, passing an adorable dog (who wanted pats that I'd gladly given) and a younger brother, who doesn't give us a second glance.
Upstairs, we enter Rodrick's room. It's surprisingly tidy for a teenage boy's. He has a drum kit, a lot of rock band posters and magazines, and a few piles of clothes and school supplies.
"You play?" I ask, gesturing at the drums.
Rodrick smiles shyly, his gaze sliding to meet mine. "Uh, yeah. I'm in a band."
I raise an eyebrow. "Oh yeah? That's sick, man. I wish I could play the drums. But I've never had the money to get my own kit or anything."
"I could... teach you if you'd like?"
At his suggestion, I hesitate. "I couldn't pay you..."
Rodrick gives me a look. "As if I'd charge you, love."
I flush, and look away.
"Okay..." Rodrick gets all embarrassed, turns in a circle, then digs through his closet for a moment. He pulls out a small tub of neatly folded clothes (I suspect his mother folded them for him), and places it on his bed.
"Here ya are, Y/n/n."
"Y/n/n?" I ask with a small laugh. "That's a new one."
"Is it?" he asks curiously. "So I'm the only one to ever call you that?"
I nod. "Yep, pretty sure."
"Good." He smiles. It's contagious, so I smile right back at him.
"Now," he says, pushing the box towards me. "Take whatever you like."
It's filled with mostly tshirts and hoodies and sweaters, which is perfect, as I have basically no need for new jeans at the moment.
I pull one of the hoodies on, a maroon one with the words "you and i got lost in it" in small, simple writing down one sleeve. It's almost a perfect fit, just a little bit big in all the right place.
"Are all the clothes in this box the same size?" I ask, and Rodrick nods, but he can't tear his eyes away from me.
"What is it?" I laugh.
"N-nothing," he stammers, his cheeks tinting pick and his voice going higher. I bite back an amused smile, and just give him a little meaningful look.
"It's just..." he sighs. "You just look really damn pretty in my clothes."
I instantly get flustered, but can't help my smile. This afternoon might have started pretty awfully, but I could tell it was going to be an amazing night.

Late Night Shenanigans
Tumblr media
Rodrick x reader
Words: 386
Based on number 6: “That’s not a cat it’s an opossum.”
Tumblr media
The last thing you remember after your head hit the pillow was; feeling too hot, shuffling under your sheets, and then making up fake scenarios before you started drifting to sleep.
You were halfway off to dream town when you heard a knock at your window that startled you a bit.
With your eyes now wide open, you stayed in bed unsure if the knocking was real or something you’ve just imagined, but then you heard a, pssst, being whispered from your window and you rolled your eyes with a small smile.
“Hurry up, your neighbor's cat is trying to attack me,” you heard again in a whisper shout sort of voice.
Of course it was him.
Only Rodrick would visit in the middle of the night without warning, right when you were in prime sleep time.
Tossing the quilt off your body you forced yourself up and out from the warmth of the covers before heading to the window and after a couple of steps you pushed your blinds out of the way, opening the window in the process and he easily climbed in.
You caught a look out the window noticing the animal down the way.
“That’s not a cat, it's an opossum.”
You turned around, laugh already leaving your mouth when you caught Rodrick suddenly staring down at your choice of clothing with his mouth slightly ajar. You tugged at the hem of your oversized tee as you realized you were wearing nothing but a big shirt and a pair of underwear.
You expected him to make a cheeky comment about it, but…”you wear löded diaper’s shirt to sleep?”
Your eyes follow where his remained at his band’s shirt that was draped over you. “Yeah…is that weird?”
Rodrick grinned, his expression shifting into that evil smile he’s perfected early on, “on the contrary. It is very attractive.”
You push his chest a little as you make your way back to your bed and pull your covers back over you, “cool your jets there, I was just about to fall asleep before you so rudely interrupted me.”
“That’s fine I can just cuddle you to sleep then,” he suggested, practically begging you.
You gripped your covers and held it open again, “fine, get in here,” you breathed out to which he happily complied.

"She was so pretty."
"Oh yea?"
"No. I dont think you understand, like the way her hair smelled when she strut past me, the smell of..... smell of something light. Fresh! Pink even."
Rodrick practically had stars in his eyes when he described how his crush was at school. You'd be ecstatic if the crush was you, but the world is cruel so here you were talking about Heather Hills for the last hour or so.
"Y'know... I heard she spat on Louise last week. Poor kid, was dosed in her icky saliva for the whole day." Y/n was selfish but she tried to paint Heather in a bad light.
"Shit i'd pay good money for her to spit on me."
Well that backfired she thought.
"Freak" Y/n lightly laughed as she fell back onto Rodricks soft bed. Chest heaving up and down whilst her mind felt clouded.
"What can I say, love makes anyone a freak."
There was that word again. Love. How could he be bloody in love with little miss Heather Hills. The queen of highschool. The perfect girl. Pretty blondie. Pretty face. Y/n quickly began to realise there were plenty of reasons for Rodrick to crush on her. Y/n was a nobody. She thought her face ugly, her style wack, her eyes too uneven. She hated, hated, hated herself and wished she looked like Heather.
"Oh. My. God. I just had the best fucking idea" Rodrick exclaimed with the dorkiest smile he could produce, each fine line below the thickness of his eyebrows seen under the dim lighting of his room.
"Hmm?" Y/n buzzed as she basked in the coolness of his sheets
"M'gonna throw a party" "Heather would definitely come, i mean its one of my parties we're talking about."
Flashbacks to Rodrick's last party hit y/n's head like a train when she remembered how chaotic and horrible the experience was. Drunk teens shouting and chugging unknown beverages, shoulders brushing against shoulders constantly as she tried to find a room she could breath in without having to see another damn couple absolutely devouring eachother. Each and every minuscule second she'd spent in that house made her want to puke. The sight that made her want to puke the most was Rodrick's clearly drunk self throwing himself onto Heather, eyes sparkly with hope whilst she just sat there smiling so sweetly it was sickening.
Quickly she was sent back to reality.
"D'you think that's a good idea?" she questioned, tired.
"Course it is! she always comes to my things"
"Kay' whatever you think is gonna earn you your little dream girl specimen."
"Trust me, this times different." That's what he always said.
--------------------------------------
It's ok. It's ok. I-It's.... it's gonna be fine. she told herself as she admired the makeup she'd put on for tonight's occasion, she'd tried to copy one of Heathers famous looks, but quickly realised it didn't suit her skin so she stuck to her usual and hated herself for it. It was dreadfully the day of his party. The day that she'd have to witness him openly flirt with Heather just because he had an excuse to down a dozen bottles of cheap booze. She swiped a smear of lipstick that somehow ended up below her lip and sighed as she adjusted her shirt. Why do you always give in? Just confess you idiot. No! what the fuck am i thinking. she scrunched her nose and took a deep breath in, abusing her vanity with the pressure from the pads of her fingers.
She really really didn't want to go. She couldn't bare seeing Heather show up with her annoyingly perfect face, her perfect nose, her perfect hair, her stupidly sweet personality that everyone gaped over. Fuck it. She hated herself and wanted to forget that Rodrick even existed.
She found her not so hidden stash of weed she'd carelessly left under a pile of worksheets from her chemistry class, something ionic bonding. She didn't know how long it'd sat there for but it stained the ziplock bag a dull yellow. The bag was crinkled and smelled like the thought of Rodrick. Whenever she was upset or mad at Rodrick she'd smoke weed to drown the thoughts out but she slowly realised it was ruining the drug as a whole for her.
She rolled a joint in a random piece of paper she'd found thrown on her floor and lit up the end, taking a deep whiff of it, smile playing on her lips.
-----------------------------
"Animals.....Elephants....Tiguurrrsssss!" She slurred as she laid flat on her disheveled bed scrunching the sheets as her eyes formed stars around her ceiling. She got up abruptly, hair a mess and rubbed her eyes deepening the pressure with every second. "Rrrr... What time? Uggggh" She sighed as she reached for her phone. Her room was cloudy and smelled of green. Beside her were a few empty glasses so she took a sniff, curious. Happy juice? No, Vodka she thought. She saw the emptied out bottle of cheap convenience store alcohol by the side of her feet a long with the yellowed bag of weed which was empty. it'd been around 2 hours since she blacked out on her bed somehow thinking about how her fan looked like the shape of animals. Shit, fuck, ass, asshole! she muttered under her breath as she plopped back down.
"Why not? What's thurrr worst that could happennn?" she mumbled eyes fluttering as she picked up her bag and stumbled out her window, careful not to wake anyone. She took the route down the tree that always worked for her but in a clumsy fashion as she fumbled down the hard branches of her overgrown escape buddy. Craaack, Creeeeak. The continuous sounds made her annoyed. "Uggggfh can't everyone just shut up!!"
--------------------------------------
There she was. Standing dumb, drunk and high in front of the booming house lit up by warm yellow light. She could already smell the familiar smell of cheap alcohol, body odour and weed. My kind of night she thought as she barely made her way to the entrance. There were already people outside partying like no tomorrow as some flipped their hair to some overplayed hip hop song that everyone knew. While some were more restricted, sipping on booze as they giggled with their friends. The true highschool experience y/n thought.
Bump.
"Hey! Watch it-"
"Y/n?"
It was someone with beautiful waves of blonde still visible from her clouded vision, pretty makeup and a perfect body. Heather.
"O-Oh hey Heather! Pretty little Heather Hills." Y/n slurred as her vision was still blurred
"Uhm... Y'alright?" She questioned looking back at her friends as if y/n was cuckoo.
"No. No. No. No! Y-you. You. You and your stupidly perfect self can go to hell!" y/n lashed out
"W-what? Y/n what the fuck is wrong with you?" Heather said clearly freaked out by the sudden aggression.
Tears started to cloud y/n's vision so she took in a deeeeep breath trying to suck in as much oxygen as she could.
"Fuck you. Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you! You- You're all he wants. Heather, heather, heather! My perfect little heather with her pretty little face!" Y/n cried out as her knees began to weaken. She had no sense of shame, embarrassment or anxiety. She was too blacked out for this. So blacked out she just blurted her deepest darkest thoughts.
A crowd began to form around them, some curious at the sudden shouting girl who was crumbling a part, vulnerable in front of some people she didn't even know the names of.
"W-what? What are you even saying y/n." Heather said confused and disturbed as she began to back away.
Warmth began to spread at the small of y/n's back. Rodricks hand.
"Y/n? Why the fuck are you screaming?- Y/n s-shit you're not alright." Rodrick hastily slung y/n's arm around his shoulder careful with her as if she was a piece of fine china.
"S-sorry bout' that Heaths, trust me she doesn't mean anything she's saying" Rodrick stutters clearly not drunk enough, nervous as he realises that Heather is clearly agitated.
"Y-yea. It's okay Rodrick. It's not your fault, just get her far from here kay?" Heather said with sympathy and those stupid doe eyes whilst placing a hand on his shoulder. This should've made him tremble with pleasure, but the fact that she'd talked about y/n as if she was a monster made him angry.
"Yea. Yea alright." Rodrick scoffed, lightly rolling his eyes before dragging y/n's blacked out figure up his carpeted staircase, the carpet grazing her knees creating a friction which burned satisfyingly on her kneecaps.
"Fuuuck. Fuck..." Y/n softly mumbled, head tilting to the side of his shoulder as he firmed his grip on the side of her shoulder. Shoulders.... shoulders are for friends, real girls get hands put on their waist. Not shoulders. She managed to conjure the thought in her hazed mind.
He struggled to open his door as y/n's body weight pressed into the side of him as he suddenly heard silent weeps of sorrow erupt from her lips.
He set her on the foot of his bed, careful not to drop her anywhere harsh.
"Y/n? Y/n what's wrong, you're like black out drunk." He asked now bending down with both hands on his knees.
He slowly caresses his hand over the hill of her cheekbone and shoves a fly of hair away from her puffy eyes.
"You....i... Im sick of you and- and her." She sighs as a hysterical tear falls from her eye. Her face was the saddest Rodrick had ever seen and this broke his heart.
"Me and... me and who y/n?" He said so softly as he began to crouch so so close to her, his eyes looking up into hers with genuine curiosity and care. The mention of her name fluttered her heart.
"Heather" She breathed out involuntarily sniffling.
"You don't like me talking about her?" He slowly asked as if all the dots were finally clicking together.
"That's a stupid question." He lowly chuckled as he swiped his thumb under the pad of her eyes.
"I.. I really- I really"
"You really what?" He said again so so softly
"I really like you." She blurted before she felt that familiar rush of heat rapture her face.
Rodrick's eyes glance down to her swollen lips and he feels a strong ache pill at his heart. His best friend just confessed about her underlaying fondness of him and he'd been an ass talking about Heather all the time. He imagined how bad it must've sucked all the damn time.
"I-I'm so sorry I- I always talked about her."
"No! don't fucking be sorry you idiotttt." She slurred
"You- You don't owe me anything." She smiled softly as she fluffed up his hair.
"Maybe..." This is wrong he thought
"Maybe i do owe you an apology." He said slow and steady as he glanced down to her lips and locked with it for the final time.
He slowly moved in to plant a soft kiss on her puffy lips and her eyes widened in surprise.
The kiss felt like heaven and she tasted like everything he was used to. A hint of cherry chapstick, a lot of weed and something coconut. His lips felt so soft against hers and she breathed in every second of the experience. She almost wanted to whine when he pulled away.
"I- Fuck."
Y/n's euphoric high was quickly ruined at the notice of him clearly regretting his decision.
"No- It's fine Rodrick. I get it, it was just a in the moment thing." She sighed as she put both her hands to her face rubbing her cheeks and eyes as if she was trying to rid off the pain in her heart.
"No, no, no! it's not that."
"I just..."
"Fuck it." He went in for another kiss.

Please write a "meet the parents" situation for rodrick officially meeting his partner's parents, I live for him actually trying so he could make a good impression >_<
#
Hello! Sorry this took a few days, but here it is!
Tumblr media
Rodrick fished around in his drawer, desperately in search of his church clothes, the only things he had that weren't band shirts and skinny jeans. Tonight was a huge deal. He was finally going to meet y/n's parents. A formal dinner wasn't exactly in his comfort zone, but he was confident that he'd mage a good impression. He'd had a week to plan, he'd even swallowed his pride and asked his mother for help with conversational tips and how to impress parents. So, with a neatly pressed shirt on and a pair of smart looking shoes he'd borrowed from his father, he set out in his van to y/n's house. Although, he had one very important stop to make on the way. He made a small detour to a shop where he purchased some flowers and a bottle of wine - a nice bottle, a fairly pricey cabernet sauvignon - not the cheap stuff he usually got for himself. He knew middle aged people were always impressed when a young person turned up with a gift.
He parked just round the corner from y/n's house, unsure as to what her parents would make of the beat up white van with "löded diper" crudely spray painted on the side that he would often chauffeur their daughter around in. Walking up to the house he revised the tips his mother had given him. Be polite, smile, offer to help. Piece of cake.
He straightened himself up, and rang the bell. A woman in a neat blouse answered with a welcoming smile,
"You must be the famous Rodrick, come on in, I'm y/n's mother, (your mum's name)"
"Hi, it's lovely to finally meet you. I hope you like cab sauv and peonies," he smiled, handing y/n's mother the gifts.
"Well aren't you just a dear"
She escorted him to the dining room (before disappearing into the kitchen) where y/n greeted him with a smile.
"The wine was a nice touch" she winked at him, before giving him a brief kiss on the cheek.
"If I'm being completely honest, I'm absolutely terrified for tonight" he whispered, "I really hope they like me"
"You've got nothing to worry about baby, trust me, they'll love you"
At that moment, y/n's father emerged from the kitchen, he smiled reassuringly at Rodrick
"You certainly know the way to a middle aged woman's heart, lad" he chuckled, placing a firm hand on Rodrick's shoulder.
Rodrick was perplexed, which y/n picked up on
"He means you impressed mum" she giggled.
Rodrick breathed a sigh of relief
"Relax, boy! You don't need to be so nervous, we don't bite" y/n's dad said.
This certainly was going better than expected - almost too much better. Rodrick figured that y/n must have buttered up her parents real good, maybe even embellished some of his better qualities a bit, but that only added pressure. He was so sure that if they knew what he was really like they'd never approve of him, and how on earth could he live up to the perfect gentleman that her parents so clearly thought he was? He was left with only one option: to fake it. It was a foolproof plan, in front of y/n's parents he would no longer be Rodrick, drummer and founder of löded diper, he would be Rodrick, the academically talented, responsible young man.
"Do you need help setting the table?" He asked politely
"Haven't you got him well trained," y/n's dad joked to her, "it's alright son, just take your seat, me and the Mrs will sort that out"
The table was laid, the food placed neatly in front of the four, and Rodrick's wine had been poured into glasses for everyone. Rodrick made sure to compliment the food, and take small delicate bites, rather than scarfing it down like he did at home.
"So Rodrick, tell us how you and y/n met," y/n's mum enquired.
Rodrick's heart began to race. He couldn't possibly tell them that they met at a basement punk show where his band was performing, that wouldn't be very responsible-young-man of him. No problem, he had the perfect lie.
"We met in the... library, yeah that's right, the library. Can't get enough of that place with all it's uh.... books and... stuff"
Y/n shot him a confused look, but didn't say anything.
"Oh, well that's nice" y/n's mum said, but something was off. Did she not believe him? Was that not impressive enough? He had to step up his game.
"Yeah, it's really nice. You know, that's just the sort of thing me and y/n like to get up to together, studying, reading the classics and not staying out later than 8:30. Isn't that right y/n?" He said, stumbling over his words as he did.
Y/n's brow furrowed as she uttered a less than confident "Uhuh..."
"Right then," her dad said, feigning politeness.
It was no use. No matter what he did, Rodrick couldn't hide the fact that he was never going to be the type of guy parents like. He couldn't even fake it. He was more than embarrassed, he wanted the ground to swallow him whole. Looking down, desperately trying to hide his red cheeks, he mumbled some excuse about needing to check if he'd locked his van, then he legged it out the door, leaving a very confused y/n and her parents. He just had to get out of there.
"Y/n, sweetheart," y/n's dad said, "what in the fresh hell just happened?"
"I'm wondering that too," she replied, standing up from the table and heading to the front door, "I'll be right back".
She jogged down the road, where she found Rodrick sat on the floor leaning on his van, his face firmly planted in his palm muttering "you idiot" to himself.
"Uhhhh.. Rodrick? You wanna tell me what that was back there?" She asked, startling him slightly.
"I'm sorry, y/n, I really tried. I'm just not the sort of guy you bring home to your parents. They saw right through me." His gaze directed strictly towards the ground, he was far too humiliated to look at her.
"Yeah, no shit they saw through it Rodrick, I've told them all about you. They know you're not some goody two shoes bookworm"
"They do?" He lifted his head up slightly
"Of course they do," y/n said, sitting down next to him and taking one of his hands.
"They know all about the band, the fact that you hate studying, they even know that you taught me how to shotgun a beer"
"Wh... what?!" Rodrick spluttered, genuinely surprised, "why the hell did they even let me in their house?"
Y/n threw her head back laughing.
"Babe, my dad was in a punk band when he was our age, that's how he and my mum met. They like the fact that I'm not so uptight since meeting you, they say we remind them of themselves when they were younger"
"Wait... really?"
"Really, doofus" y/n smiled, giving Rodrick a playful jab in the arm.
Rodrick smiled, and planted a small peck on her cheek.
"I guess we better go back in and try again huh?" Y/n said, helping Rodrick to his feet
"Lead the way babe".
Upon returning to the dining table, Rodrick composed himself, let out a deep breath and finally spoke.
"I'm sorry about before, I'm not a book guy, I'm the drummer in a punk band called löded diper, the last book I read the whole way through was a beano comic, and I feel naked without eyeliner. So, that's it. That's the truth,"
Y/n's parents were silent for a second, before erupting into laughter.
"Well why didn't you say so!" Y/ns dad said, "Come on son, sit. Tell me about this band of yours..."
The rest of the evening flew by, y/n's parents reminiscing on anecdotes from their youth, while indulging in y/n and Rodricks more recent stories. It would appear that Rodrick couldn't have been more wrong, he was exactly the type of guy a girl brings home to her parents.
A/n hope you enjoyed :^) requests for fics / hcs are still open (sfw only)

Hey, I know it’s been a while since you submitted this but I hope you are happy with it <3
Anniversary
Rodrick x Reader
No one thought that Rodrick and y/n could have a relationship. However they got to celebrate their one year anniversary but it all went down after Rodrick overheard one conversation.
——————————————-——————————
It was our one year anniversary so I convinced Rodrick to have a date night instead of the usual hanging out at his place. Although my boyfriend didn’t like going out a lot, he would go to the movie theater and get some food afterwards with me. He did whatever made me happy. Sometimes it was like he couldn’t believe that I am his girlfriend. I am this straight A student and he is - well he is Rodrick.
At 8pm I arrived at his house.
„Oh, y/n sweet heart, you are waiting for my son, right? I am afraid but he is still getting ready. Why don‘t you come in?“ Susan, his mom, said to me after she answered the door. She brought me to the kitchen and gave me some water.
„So today is the one year anniversary, isn‘t it?“ Susan asked after a while.
„Oh yes, that‘s why we have our little date night.“ I answered her and took a sip from my water.
„Wow that’s a long time for young people. Are you sure you know what you are doing with my son?“ „You don‘t have to worry about that. I am so in love with Rodrick and I couldn‘t be happier about being in this amazing relationship with him.“ I immediately tried to reassure her but Susan still looked very concerned. „Oh sweetie, I think you misunderstood me. I am more worried about you. I don‘t want Rodrick to be the reason you loose focus on your education. I know that he can be a very bad influence.“ I looked at her in disbelief. Was she really talking about her own son in that way? I put down my glass of water and wanted to tell her that I‘d rather wait outside for my boyfriend when I heard a cracking noise. Rodrick stood right outside of the kitchen. He turned around and went back to his room and shut the door with a bang.
I immediately left his mom in the kitchen and went upstairs. I knocked at the door to the attic which was slowly opened by my boyfriend. „Can I come in?“ I asked him. His eyes were red and puffy. He took a few steps back and I went into his room. He cleared his throat before he started to speak. „So y/n, I think that we should stop seeing each other.“ „Wait what?“ I stumbled. Did he really say that? „Yeah, I mean it’s the right thing to do.“ Now I was staring at him in disbelief. „Why should it be the right thing?“, I asked him. My voice wasn’t more than a whisper. I had to fight back the tears. „Don’t be stupid. You have this bright future ahead of you and I - well I don’t have shit. Your parents hate me and even my Mom sees that we can’t be together. So please don’t make this even harder for me and just go.“ He turned around and pretended to look out of his window. „Why should we let everyone decide what the best for us is? How would they know that I have this bright future. And why can’t you have a great future as well?“ He snorted. „What amazing future do I have? Do you want to sit in the attic with me for the next 20 years?“ „Nah, Rodrick, you will be a Rockstar and tour around. You will probably forget me anyways and start seeing crazy fan girls“ „Nah babe, how can I forget my badass lawyer wife.“ He turned around, smiling at me. I took the last few steps towards him and gave him a kiss. He immediately pulled me into a huge and rested his head on top of mine. I heard him sigh and felt how the tension left his body.
We stayed there for a while, just holding each other. Rodrick played around with a strand of my hair. After a while he broke the silence. „Y/n I don’t know how to say this but I don’t think we should break up anymore.“ I had to laugh because of his awkwardness. „Thanks for letting me know“, I said while shaking my head.
„I think we missed our movie.“ Rodrick let go of me and looked me in my eyes. He was sorry for ruining our date night because of that. But honestly, I didn’t care about this anymore after all the drama. „That’s okay, we can just watch some Netflix and raid your fridge.“

rodrick dating a swiftie!reader
requested: yes / no
warnings: i dont think any?? mental health tw in a/n
pronouns: nothing specific
a/n: hey guys so i'm not dead! in all honestly i locked myself out of this account, so i couldn't finish writing all of the requests from the last time i checkded in account. my home life has been kind of a shit show the past few months, but now that i found the password, i feel like writing might pull me out of the hole i've been in recently. if i dissappear again don't worry -- i def j locked myself out again :) also, i'm not a huge taylor fan, so i tried my best!
okay so basically
rodrick was not a swiftie at ALL before meeting you
like, he heard it on the radio and at school, but he never like went seeking out taylor swift
but the very SECOND he met you, he immideatly started looking up what songs she was famous for
id like to think that rodrick's love langauge is music (don't think i'm using that term right but whatevs)
and that he immideatly told you that he was trying taylor swift
and he listened to basically EVERYTHING.
the next time he saw you
all he did was talk about taylor swift with tou
something was just so adborable about seeing your face light up when he mentioned that he listened to her "because he wanted to think about you, and taylor swift makes him think of you"
tim mcgraw asf!
