Probably this is one of the best things I've written in recent times. It's quite easy to read in my language, I haven't used this method for a long time, I hope it also turned out to be easy to read. Also, many thanks to one person for sharing with the site where I can read the chapters up to the most recent one :)
It must have been difficult to interact with Sae since childhood? He was definitely much more open, but he's not like that now, and not much pops up in my memory. I can't say that some of my childhood memories have been erased from my mind, but I don't remember the moment when he began to treat me like that and also, it seems, to Rin.
I was a frequent guest in their house, and their mother probably loved me very much: no matter how I come, he will treat me with something, joke, tell me what the boys have done in my absence. I certainly liked her, and she reciprocated.
As I remember, my parents loved to travel around Japan: now there is no place where they would not be, and therefore I often went with them, and we did not stay long on the spot. But we stayed in the city for several years - it was already financially impossible to continue constant movement.
A child of five or six years old was not interested in it, I did not pay much attention to it. We stopped - yes, we stopped, there is an opportunity to communicate with someone else. At that time, Rin hadn't played football yet, but I just sat with him and played with different toys, sometimes looking at the field.
I clearly remember that I didn't notice how Rin disappeared from under my side and stole that goal. I was as surprised as Sae. "Wow, someone else is going to play football!" - that's what I thought.
Football was one of the things I didn't understand. More precisely, some moments in it. But I don't think that a child who is not particularly fond of it even thought about such difficulties. Then for me it was just a game without rules; the main thing is to score a goal and no matter how.
For me, their game was something exciting: I always watched the process with interest, dragged my parents, just so they could see how they play. In a way, I'm their biggest fan. Since I didn't understand it, it seemed to me something incredible. Their play is what I found their interaction special for, something that made me feel their connection special.
Perhaps if they continued to practice in the same spirit, they would be invincible. I sometimes joined them, and we came up with different combinations of our attacks. Playing with them on the field is an unforgettable feeling! However... Something went wrong after Sae's arrival from Spain. Of course, he was exactly the same: a quiet guy, answering with monosyllabic sentences, with a calm, bored look. But there was rudeness in his behavior and an unbearably bored expression on his face.
Oh, right... that's when we all broke up. I was shocked by this behavior of my friend (or maybe a guy I liked). It was rude of him: the Sae I knew wasn't like that. Not at all.
I couldn't stay on Rin's side either, although I perfectly understood his desire to play with Sae on the field together, but not as a midfielder and striker, but to be strikers together. That day I finally stopped writing Sae. Or rather, I wrote to him, and even a lot: at first he answered as much as possible, and then he stopped, but I continued, thinking that he was very busy. But the message "I like you" was the last one, and remained unanswered.
Sae, do you regret that you decided to play with the national team against Blue Lock at all? You obviously like to win. I'm sorry, Rina, that you didn't recognize him. Can you imagine, even Shido managed to take your number: it's so convenient than writing to you all the time through websites. Whereas I asked you about it many times after your first arrival back to Japan. This is probably the best option for you: you are right to put your desires higher than the thoughts and needs of others. Sae, that's who, and you are a real egoist. Even your words about love won't change what you've already done.

IT HAD BEEN A HUGE ADJUSTMENT PERIOD, to go from a simple demi-god, a child of poseidon, to mother nature herself. her uncle zeus fulfilling a prophecy that had been imparted upon her birth. that one day she would ascend to the ranks of a goddess. and sure she was thankful to be alive. the only downside, was getting used to the new powers that came with the whole package. ( and that was not easy! ) after all, there were only so many tropical storms she could cause, just by sneezing. or causing thunder and lightning across half the world when her emotions got too high. it really was becoming a challenge. but she was managing. due to everyone around her. her mate being a huge factor in that regard. as well as the woman she was now going to see. after a message from nico.
she'd already been to see elysia ━ knowing her younger cousin was no doubt going through it. as karina had unintentionally created an invincible persona around her family. and it had all come crashing down. but after a lot of shouting and tears. she knew things would be better now. after all, only one person had the power to kill her now, and she was one of the few on his like list. so she was fine. but more importantly. she had to see astra. after being informed of what was happening to the cult, the ones who had helped to twist her sister into something dangerous. and ruined her life for so damn long. ( so long even history seemed short in comparison! ) but now they were no more, in any universe. and it was all thanks to one person. who had used her powers to their limit, to create such a truth.

( astra included! ) a soft smile blooms over the goddess lips at the kiss to her head before she's jumping up onto the counter beside astra. still out of the way of the baking. but close enough. ❛ good to see you too. and im fine now im not causing tropical storms whilst sneezing! ❜ if anyone was to understand rina's plight, it was Astra. who had survived her ascension for the same reasons karina had. the love of their mate and family. ❛ enough about me though. a little birdie, otherwise known as a big wolf. tells me you've been in a coma for three weeks after ridding the world of the cult. so the better question, is how are you? ❜

Could it be?: Episode 6 fic.
I made my own version of Eldarya ANE's last talk with Lance since I felt that some things were... Missing. Or not completly clear regarding Lance and Erika's past.
The reason why I put my gardienne's name instead of "Erika"? During TO you can decide if you empathize with Lance or not, if you want to understand him or just go with it and try to kill him, and my OC had a bit of hope towards him until the very last moment.
Therefore, whether you liked Lance or not in season one, I thought that it would be more proper to do not use "Erika" this time and give each gardienne more free will.
Any feedback or suggestion is appreciated ❤️ Also, if anyone wants to request anything be my guest lmao, college doesn't start until September and I don't have much to do.
I want to thank the kind @rina-nanashiro that has assisted carefully reading it and pointing my grammar mistakes (English is not my mother tongue woah what a suprise).
I certainly screwed up this time. I was feeling awful. How could I let this happen? Why didn’t I prevent it?
I couldn’t stop thinking about Edgard’s death. The image of the knife in his neck, his blood a wild contrast to the white pristine snow behind him. The only thing I could do before rushing to the ship was stupidly staring at his corpse. Tenjin and his men hurried out and I just let them. I did nothing, again.
I was on the ship’s rail, staring at the ocean like it was the most intriguing and interesting thing I had ever seen. Even the waves seemed to mock me that day. They were calm and peaceful, not like in our first journey when they almost destroyed our ship. Despite it, I would prefer troubled waters that match my mood.
What would I tell Huang Hua, Chrome, Karenn and the rest of the people who expected great things out of me? Am I worthy of a statue when I’m not even capable of saving someone who’s right in front of my eyes? Did I honestly deserve all the praise at the title of “Eldarya’s saviour”? The truth will out and soon all the Eldaryans will realise that I’m nothing but a human with small wings and sparkling powers.
The sound of footsteps interrupted my train of thought. Lance came towards me with a slightly worried expression.
— Are you alright, Kali? You seem pensive.
— Well, we could say so, yes. — I guess he would prefer to say that I seemed pensive instead of a complete failure. Lance sighed and his mien turned serious.
— Actually, you look quite miserable. You’ve barely started these long monologues of yours talking about anything that crosses your mind. — I let a sad chuckle escape my lips. This man could read me like an open book.
— Look, I’m truly sorry we weren’t able to protect Edgard. Really. — I tightened my grip against the rail and turned myself towards the ocean.
— I swore to protect him. To keep him safe, to take him to the HQ. I promised I wouldn’t let anything bad happen to him. And now he’s dead.
I didn’t dare to turn my head to face him. I didn’t want to see the look in his eyes; pity or annoyance, I just didn’t want to see it. If he pitied me I would feel worse, but if he was angry, I wouldn’t hesitate to argue with him.
— Kali…
— It could have been me! It could have been Mathieu! I was there, I could have helped him.
— Accidents always happen, Kalissandra. This mission turned out to be much more complicated than we initially expected. You weren’t supposed to save his life, you were supposed to assist in the examination of the earth construction.
— But wouldn’t you try to protect one of your kind? — I regretted that the moment I said it. I could feel his jaw tightening even without looking at it. Great Kali, you just have reminded him about the extinction of his whole race.
— I’m sorry I… I didn’t want… I just.... — I couldn’t swallow the lump in my throat, and my eyes already began to burn.
— How’s that I’m supposed to be the saviour of Eldarya when I can’t even help someone that’s in front of my eyes? How can I deserve all that admiration when I can’t even do that! I could have been Edgard, Lance, I could have ended up there just like him and DIE the way he did. He was scared, he didn’t deserve it, he just wanted to try and make a living! And The Oracle knows how many people are still out there! And I’m here, doing ABSOLUTELY nothing!— I could not help but let some sobs run free. It was impossible to remove Edgard’s presence from my mind.
It would not matter how many years have passed nor the many deaths I have witnessed. The cruel truth about life would not ever stop being impressive to me.
Oh dammit, how was I even supposed to be a mighty warrior when I struggled to face death?
I felt a soft grasp on my shoulder, and Lance turned me gently to face him.
— Kali, look at me. — Without any hesitation left, I raised my head to face his deep, ice stare. I was expecting some kind of annoyance, pity or maybe even indifference, but what I found was… Determination.
— You are not him. You were truly lucky you landed right in the HQ, and I know you tend to empathize with anyone, even with the ones who don’t precisely deserve it, — He left my eyes for a brief moment. Was he talking about himself? — but right now, there’s no use in thinking about the “what if”. It has happened, and there’s no chance of going back.
— You have to learn to accept that you can’t save everyone. It doesn’t matter how strong you are, how fast you run or the prowess you have upon your powers, you will never control everything that happens around you.
— The fact that you saved Eldarya doesn’t mean that you’re supposed to be perfect. And as I told you, It’s important to be aware of our capacities, but no one is invincible, not the dragons or the aengels. — His hand came to rest on my face, his thumb brushing away a tear running down my face. Determination never left his eyes, still locked with mine. — You may have become a legend, but you are still a person. — His hand was to leave my face, but I gingerly held his wrist to keep it in place.
— I see how willing you are to help everyone in need and improve every day, even though you have skipped the training of the obsidian guard for three weeks. — I genuinely laughed at that. When I learned that he was my boss I was completely horrified.
— Fine, I promise you’ll see me there in the next one. — I gave the dragon a small smile that he returned eagerly. After a satisfied nod, he spoke to me again.
— Listen… I still wanted to tell you that you were impressive, back there. — His hand began to stroke my cheek with his fingertip. I could feel the warmth gathering in my face. — I already knew you were a precious asset for The Guard, of course…
— But I realise now that you are… More than that. — More than that? More than that in which way?!?! At this point, I’m sure my cheeks were flushed with a crimson red, and he must have noticed too, cause he seemed pretty satisfied with it.
— Well, the last time we were together, we didn’t take much time to talk. — He smiled awkwardly and withdrew his hand.
We stayed in silence, side by side, facing the ocean, for several long minutes. There was something intimate about that moment. Strangely, being beside him was… Calming. After this conversation, I felt great. Much better than these past days.
I believed we finally recognized each other. Of course, not everything was forgiven nor forgotten, I hoped we had a chance to discuss our past but right now… I could finally breathe in peace beside him. I didn’t have to keep my guard up around the dragon anymore.
I mean, he could have let me drown in the depth of the ocean and say that it was an accident. Wait, what am I even saying? That wouldn’t work. He’s not incompetent enough to let anyone drown under his gaze. Fine, I won’t thank him for any of that.
But… He did seem truly concerned about my well-being. He has given me a helping hand several times when no one was looking, and even though that’s not enough to neglect his stubborn personality, and yet…
Suddenly, I was seized with doubt. Something strange was happening between us… My heart was racing like crazy, and a small wave of panic rushed through me. His piercing blue gaze was lost in the horizon, and I couldn’t help but be mesmerized by his eyes…
I recognized this feeling. It was very similar to the one I had when we were in memoria, at the forgotten cliff. That time, I still had a small hope that there was something good left in him, and maybe, just maybe, I was right, and this was what I was expecting.
Was it possible..? That he really… That he actually had changed? I couldn’t find the Lance that sunk his claws in his brother’s chest in the Lance that was standing beside me.
I was conflicted. I couldn’t forget the man who inspired my fear, the one I hated and hurt me several times, and at the same time, a new growing feeling was overflowing me.
I shouldn’t, I… It’s Lance! We never got along, and I don’t even think he even wants to, but I was hoping… What was I even hoping for?
I have to get a hold of myself and stop overthinking. I have experienced too many emotions in a few days, and I could always ponder about this with my head over my shoulders.
In the meantime, we were getting close to the HQ, and we would have to face the consequences of our actions in Genkaku.

15. When was the last time you read a good book? A few months back, I read Howl's Moving Castle (it was a book first) ITS SO GOOD! i remember just being thrilled to read it, and it didnt disappoint.

Most beautiful thing you've ever seen (in real life)? a few years ago, for a school sleepaway trip, we went to place called jekyll island. ive never known peace like that since those three days. it was nice and chilly, and we were right by the beach, so i got to see the ocean for the first time in years. we even got to see stingrays swimming under a bridge!!! and dolphins too. it was almost picture perfect, in a way. that was the last cool thing i did before the pandemic hit, actually. i'd love to go back there.
also i know this is like, show related, but in invincible, there's this one scene where mark grayson finally gets his supersuit, and flies downwards and it's one of the best things ive seen. the music picks up at the right moments. that's great to me. (it's on amazon prime video, the scene im talking about is in the first episode)

How do to think Pure would have been different had Sara lived? Do you think she could have given up her Pearl (since mermaids can kinda sorta live without bc of Luchia)? I would have loved to see Sara making amends and helping to rebuild her kingdom, Kaito and Gaito getting to have an actual relationship, and Seria getting to meet Sara!
Wow I gave a thought to this and it turns out this thought just branches out into so many rabbit holes that I’m not sure if I can completely answer your question, but I’ll try!
From your ask, I gather that you assume that Gaito would live as well. I’m also going to assume here that Sara would still follow Gaito even if they had lived. Aqua Regina did note in the final episode of the first season that Sara’s duty is to save Gaito’s soul. Which means that even if she lived, it is possible that she still would need a successor in Seira. Seira would be still too young to lead a rebuilding of the Indian Ocean Kingdom, so I don’t think we would see much of that in Pure anyway, even if Sara had lived.
Even so, everything would be very different. A few reasons summed up here: 1) Taro probably would not have left Japan, 2) Sara would be the one taking care of Seira rather than Luchia, 3) all the Mermaid Princesses will be present.
1) Taro probably would not have left Japan
A bit of context here: I am making a few assumptions here for the canonical story. The biggest one is that someone had to break it to Taro that Sara is gone. Through the events of the finale in Season 1, Taro was mostly unconscious after his brief reunion with Sara, right before the final battle. The evidence is that Sara bid farewell to Taro while he was still unconscious on the back of Hippo.
Had Taro been unsure if Sara was still alive or not, he might have returned to India out of desperation just for that chance to see her again where they met. (small headcanon: Taro and Sara met at Rama’s Bridge in Tamil Nadu. Where else but a bridge that Suvannamaccha the Mermaid Princess disrupted?)
But it is more likely that either Luchia, Hanon, or Rina had to gently break the news to him. After composing himself, he would then decide to further study music in Germany in order to let his inner melody flow, as a tribute to Sara.
Now, assuming that Gaito’s castle still sunk anyway, but not into the deepest depths of the ocean floor, the location of Gaito and Sara would still be off the east coast of Japan. When Taro wakes from the ordeal, he would still ask about Sara’s whereabouts. Luchia, Hanon, and Rina would still have to break bad news to him, but something quite different: that Sara has chosen Gaito over Taro. But the key difference is that Sara lives.
It is possible that Taro could have wished Sara well in his heart and continued to pursue music. But I think it is more likely still that he would stay in Japan, constantly looking out to sea as long as his mermaid princess was still alive.
Which brings me to the fact that we would have seen how Taro and Hanon would both had to learn how to let go at the same time. Nagisa would still appear as part of the story, and Taro would still gift Hanon his music score. But with Taro’s constant presence (and Sara’s choosing of Gaito), Hanon would be more determined than ever to win Taro’s heart. Taro would then have to constantly gently reject and refuse Hanon’s advances, and maybe set Nagisa and Hanon up. (which he kinda did already, even if he was far away in Germany)
Sara would resurface every now and then, and Taro will then have to struggle with practicing what he preaches. He would have kept telling Hanon to move on from him, but likewise, Sara would have had to give him similar advice that he would have to follow.
Which reminds me, I haven’t even talked about Sara proper yet. 😅
2) Sara would be the one taking care of Seira rather than Luchia
This is interesting because we go into the details of what exactly is the relationship between Sara and Seira. Generally, we’ve been considering Seira and Sara as two separate mermaids, two separate souls. However, Hippo noted all the way in Episode 1 that “Pearls are an element of mermaids”, or even more specifically, “真珠わ人魚の分身” (lit: pearls are a “clone”/”alter ego” of mermaids). This suggests that while it is definitely possible that mermaids can be alive without their pearls, they would also be incomplete without them. Which means to say, that the pearls contain an essential identity inseparable from the mermaids who possesses them.
This raises the question of the Orange Mermaid Princess’ Pearl: if Sara is still lives, can Seira be born? Which leads us to think about something even more interesting: can we consider Seira as a reincarnation of Sara? And there’s even more: do the Mermaid Princesses have friendships that lasts beyond lifetimes, reincarnation after reincarnation?
This is of course, assuming that every mermaid owns a pearl that they keep in their shell necklace. But, if we assume that the pearl is more like a Crown Jewel for each kingdom, then perhaps it is possible for Seira to be born at the will of Sara’s abdication being approved by Aqua Regina.
Even so, I cannot imagine the relationship between Sara and Seira to be anything but profoundly deep and intimate. Even if we allow for the fact that the ownership of the pearl can be transferred when the previous owner is still alive, there is a sense that Sara is at once Seira’s mother and other self. Sara has so much to teach Seira about the beauty of the Indian Ocean Kingdom and all her culture. But consequently that means that Seira will spend more of her time in the Panthalassa Palace with Sara and Gaito. It would be nice to see Gaito’s humane side for once, responding to the antics of a kid. At some point, Seira would surface, not only to experience the human world but also to socialise and meet with the other Mermaid Princesses. Which brings me to:
3) All the Mermaid Princesses will be present.
The power of the seven Mermaid Princesses have been shown to be invincible when they are combined. Michel would be somewhat less threatening, even though he is still as powerful. Seira would have been protected during her birth in the Indian Ocean, considering the fact that Sara could have more easily gathered all the Mermaid Princesses to witness and protect the birth of Seira together if she was alive.
If Michel was successful in absorbing Seira’s power though, Sara would have been the caretaker of Seira’s pearl, which would have been even more interesting to see what Sara might confess to Seira in their private moments alone in the subconscious realm.
Other stuff:
It would have been interesting to see how Kaito and Gaito interact as brothers, but also at the same time they were both brought up in vastly different environments; it would take a lot of communication for them to kindle a sense of brotherhood. If Sara had lived, I would also be keen to see how she would make amends to Coco, and perhaps a couple of episodes following the duo as they explore the human world.

The job was supposed to be rather safe, even if they took a turn, they had the firepower to handle most anything. And honestly, they were more than capable, there shouldn’t have been any real danger, and casualties, even now that the mission was winding down to an end, there shouldn’t have been any genuine risk... But things happen. Sometimes they just... Happen. No one was at fault, no one did anything wrong, no mistakes were made just... A freak accident. Wrong place, wrong time, just. That’s how it goes. Werewolves were amazing healers, but they weren’t invincible. One well placed shot could be all it takes, and it seemed like today was just the day. It had thrown everyone, no one had expected an outcome like this, no one had been expecting something so sudden, so heart wrenching. Ilkwan hadn’t ever been expecting it that was for sure. The one person that takes everything into account for every job he sends others out to fulfill, even he hadn’t been prepared for something like this.
He’d been in his office when he received the call, talking to Yoongi about an addition to the base he’d be working on when the call from Rina interrupted their conversation. His smile was quick to disappear at hearing the pain in the wraith’s voice as she said words his brain didn’t want to comprehend. There was a few moments where the ghoul stopped breathing entirely, the world seeming to just stop for a while. Numbness taking hold of him, even when he spoke back into the phone it didn’t feel like he was even the one saying something. “I’ll be there shortly. N-no, don’t... You don’t have to explain anything, I’ll... We’ll worry about that later. I’ll be right there.” Ending the call Ilkwan found himself still frozen in place, eyes returning to the male in front of him. Right. There were still people he had to take care of, people that needed him to be the one that held it all together. I needed to be the leader that could pull them all back from this in the end. He’d push aside his own pain and anguish for now, he’d come undone once there was no one to see him, no one to bear his burden with him. For now, he had to get things done. Not only that, he had to be the one to tell Yoongi the news right then and there. He deserved to know, and he deserved to hear it from him in person. Putting it off just... Wasn’t right... “I’m sorry, something just came up I-... There was a incident. Dabin’s dead. Rina isn’t... Handling it well. I’m going to handle things there so she can come back here and mourn the way she needs to... Please, excuse me.”
