some good news!! the spanish state's ministry of equality has finally passed one of the most progressive trans laws on the planet, shielded free and universal access to abortion and banned conversion therapy and genital surgery for intersex babies, among a lot of other feminist policies. the minister of equality irene montero gave a speech thanking spain's lgtb and trans associations for helping her draft these legislations. couldn't be more proud!!

I turned in the book manuscript for INTERMEDIARIES, the forgotten history of the first transgender clinic 1918-1933.

It follows the story of Dora Richter, the first transgender woman to undergo complete MTF surgery (not Lili Elbe; she was third!) It’s taken me two years of blood, sweat, and tears. A lot of tears, actually.

The Nazis raided the Institute for Sexual Science; they burned the library. They banned the books that remained. They attacked, arrested, and ultimately killed trans and homosexual people along with disabled people, minority groups like the Roma people, political opponents, and 6 million Jews. (One commenter suggested 11 million people over all, and really, that estimate may still be conservative).

The news today, 2023, reads a lot like news in 1923 with the rise of hatred against LGBTQ, attacks on reproductive rights, and increasing racism and antisemitism. The Nazis rose throughout the 1920s, coming into power 1930-1933.

The world said never again; we must now be the ones to stop a slide into hatred and violence. Before it’s too late.

Full offense but if as a queer goy your first response to “Jewish people are in danger because of Kanye West’s antisemitic comments” is “they’ll come for queer people after they come for the Jews, we need to act” you should really be asking yourself why you need to make this about queer people and not Jewish people to care enough to act. Zionists want you to conflate Judaism and Zionism. Zionists want you to believe that Judaism cannot exist without Zionism and that all Jews are Zionists. Zionism would have Jews believe that a Jewish state is the only way that they can be safe from antisemitism and will point to any instance of antisemitism as proof that Zionism is the solution- so Zionism wants gentiles to be antisemitic in their support of Palestine. They want you to conflate all Jews with Zionism and the state of Israel, and they want you to treat all Jews regardless of political affiliation as the face of Israel. Antizionist Jews exist, and incidences of antisemitism ostensibly acting against Zionism will not help dismantle the forces propping Zionism up.

The difference between right wing and left wing is that the right wing want Jewish people to die and would like it if they took the Arabs with them.

The left wing wants Jewish people to die as "good" victims of oppression or merthyrs, so they can mourn and universalise the struggle. They do not want complex Jewish people that do what they deems needed to survive, whether it is moral or not

Both sides are ok with Jewish people dying, the right is just honest about it.

Can't believe I have to say it again, but a queer jew existing, online and/or irl is not pinkwashing. Individuals cannot pinkwash by simply existing and talking about their experiences.

if you see an ad talking about Jewish hate and your knee-jerk reaction is to be openly hateful to all Jews, the ad was made for you.

if you see an ad talking about Jewish hate and your knee-jerk reaction is to scream "but what about the bad jews from Israel that are killing Palestinians???", the ad was made for you.

if you see an ad talking about Jewish hate and your knee-jerk reaction is to say "the ad was made by zionists so it's invalid", the ad was made for you.

if you see an ad talking about discrimination against a marginalised group and your knee-jerk reaction is to:

call them all evil

call some of them evil

claim it's propaganda by the evil members of the marginalised group to distract you from them being evil

make sure people know you don't hate the marginalised group, you only hate those who hold a political beliefs that's heavily integrated into their history of discrimination

then maybe you need to look in the mirror and ask yourself if you're part of the problem.

because this sounds exactly like the response to 9/11.
