B I O G R A P H I C A L I N F O R M A T I O N Raven (like most women one will meet) is more than just a pretty face. She does use her looks to her advantage, although being told she is beautiful no longer freezes her in her tracks she has heard it so often. Her parents have told her so as well as the many men (and women) she has chosen to affiliate herself with over the years. As a result, it takes a bit for Raven to be impressed or surprised by what others say to her. Most of her conversations are carried out with an extremely casual air, and it can almost be taken as if she isn't fully invested in the discussion.

Raven's childhood was a bit more eventful than most because of her perceived beauty. Her parents put her into Muggle beauty pageants, clearly taking advantage of their daughter as well as their magical abilities. Raven has taken care to block most of those years from memory, but the numerous trophies and crowns that still litter her family's living room are enough reminders. This also explains why she does not spend a lot of time with her parents, distancing herself from her family so that she can be her own person. Going to Hogwarts helped with that as well, of course, allowing her to make friends and focus on other things kids do. So when she was seventeen, she knew that she definitely wanted to go out on her own and figure out things.

So far, Raven feels that her life is lacking some adventure. Each night after work, she just goes home to her apartment to spend the rest of the night with her cat.

Raven used to be more adventurous. After she finished school, Raven moved out to live on her own and trained in martial arts as well as received her pistol certification. With this experience and her beauty, Raven began work as an assassin. The job did not last for too long with maybe only about three or four kills under her belt. The fact that she had to seduce people, only to kill them in the end, was uncomfortable (of course), so she left the assassin world behind after only about four years of work (from 1994-1998).

Now, the Organization has dragged her back into the game. There is no turning back, not with her kill count just going up and up and up…

[ chase sui wonders | demi-girl | she/they | twenty-one ] —— it’s just another typical week in hawkins i guess — isn’t that right, mingzhu tuan? huh, guess they can’t hear me over rapture by blondie playing on their walkman, but it looks like they’re headed to class at an roane community college and work at milton’s electronics. did you know misty has been in hawkins for nine years? yeah, they’ve been described as a bit heedless, but i suppose them also being adroit outweighs the negative. i’ve also heard people say they remind them of never living up to your potential, a closet full of hoodies, forged prescriptions … however, that could just be this weeks newest rumor.

general headcanons.

▫ born in fairfax, virginia, it had always been misty and their mom for most of their life, their dad practically zipping out of town the moment laura tuan told him she was eight weeks pregnant, especially after she had been disowned by her own parents. it hadn't been easy, being just the two of them, but misty's mother always made do, always made them feel like they weren't alone.

▫ unlike most cliches, misty actually welcomed the presence of a stepfather into her life pretty easily. george milton was a good man, treated her mother like the queen she is, and brought gifts for misty every time he visited. it wasn't long before george and her mother got married, misty being the maid-of-honor at the wedding, of course.

▫ the only caveat to george and laura's marriage? they had to move to hawkins, because george had to take over the family business, or whatever. see, fairfax wasn't the pinnacle of city living, but to misty, it beat living in middle-of-nowhere, indiana, especially right as they were approaching teenhood. still, there were some good things to come out of the move, such as misty discovering the new love of their life-- computers. they pored over the electronics george sold at the store, assembling and disassembling them to figure out just how they worked. it was a no-brainer that they were to work at milton's electronics, and for that, the move was made a little bit easier.

▫ misty never adjusted to life in hawkins, not really, always proclaiming herself as an outcast by choice, preferring to stay with their machines and gadgets. she had above-average grades, and at school she was the president of the hawkins high school av club-- though also possibly being its sole member. either way, misty blended into the background in high school, which she preferred just fine.

▫ milton's electronics was the only store of its kind in hawkins-- that is, until, starcourt rolled into town, bringing with it its new-fangled wares and radioshack. why, startcourt almost drove milton’s electronics into the ground! luckily, the place survived, even after an earthquake and the resurgence of starcourt, but that doesn’t mean the place isn’t struggling.

▫ misty is aware that her parents are keeping it a secret from her, but she knows that the store isn’t doing so well, which is why she decided to study at the community college rather than take that scholarship to that fancy tech school in massachusetts. of course, their parents don’t know that that’s why they decided to stay in hawkins– in fact, their parents think they didn’t get the scholarship in the first place, and while misty is often berated for this assumption, they believe it’s better for their parents to think that their kid wasn’t good enough for a scholarship rather than them knowing the real reason behind it.

▫ they currently live in a studio apartment right above milton's, proclaiming some sense of independence from their parents, despite the fact that they still have dinner with george and laura almost every evening. still, they kind of run the place now, george giving them the freedom to do whatever in the store as they please, as long as it's within budget, which misty tries to follow.

▫ while they mainly work at milton’s electronics, misty has had a pretty booming side-business in forgery, tracing all the way back to their humble beginnings in high school, forging excuse letters and hall passes. nowadays, she keeps the side hustle to a minimum, but for the right price she can divvy up a forgery worthy of the MET, or whatever. i reckon she got in trouble for it once and got too spooked to make it a consistent thing, but it’s not like they’re completely opposed to it !

decided to make a bunch of the our life beginnings & always characters with a couple of my headcanons. NOTE: i havent played all the dlc so if some of these headcanons are like wrong in a way that contradicts canon in an uncomfortable way (eg me hcing a lesbian character as bi or vice versa) then it is likely i just dont know about it!

explanations for hcs under the cut:

river last: my oc! nonbinary, bi, and tme. they use any pronouns and love to be as confusing gender wise as possible. probably singlehandedly made cove realize he's pan.

cove: MY BELOVED. my cove was warm/sporty and he was so so sweet to river. also a nervous wreck. obviously canon pan and demi.

elizabeth: i know the game SAYS she's straight, but i relate to her a lot and personally project my lesbianism on her. so. cis femme lesbian

lee: also see her as a lesbian, as well as being agender! she reminds me of one of my friends :)

miranda: i see her as being bi (i shipped her and lee for a bit in step 3 during my first playthrough, i dont remember why) and transfeminine genderfluid!

terry: trans man of course (i cheered when he came out in the in between of step 3 and 4!) and i actually hc him as straight!

derek: i view derek as being transgender and bi greyace! the fact that he's so short as a kid and constantly wears a baggy football shirt? transgender!

baxter: nonbinary for SURE. cmon, i clocked the kid the moment they had that aesthetic. i also see them as bi and greyaro!

The Oliveira family had a history of traders and merchants, and they made themselves wealthy on the trade of goods. The family was a well travelled one, with ships in ports around the world. The family lived a slightly nomadic lifestyle, travelling across seas and residing in the finest homes, following wherever the business took them. Portugal, the New World, Morocco, England, wherever was most profitable was were you would find the Oliveiras. However in the mid-16th century, they decided to settle themselves in London.

The great-granddaughter of those who had first made England their permanent home, Bessie was born to William and Elisabete Oliveira, William had made a name of himself in the political sphere, and earned (or some say, bought) himself a permanent position at court. He became a member of the King’s Privy Council, and was rewarded as the Earl of Carlisle. Elisabete had a short lived position as a lady in the queen’s household, however she retired from court after a short number of years.

Named for her mother, Bessie was the first child of the couple, born five years into their marriage. They were adored and dotted upon by both parents.

Educated not only as a lady, but as the heir to both trading company and earldom, Bessie was taught in arithmetic, history, music, and more.

When she was seven, their mother fell ill and died shortly thereafter.

Her father never remarried, instead he focused more on his only child’s education and prospects. She was now sole heir to a company with more wealth than one could think of and connections across the globe, with no chance of another claimant.

Wealth and and a future title made them an eligible bride for many, and as a motherless daughter, they took over the role as the head of an earl’s household at a young age. Balancing books, organizing servants, hosting dinners and balls were all things she learnt in her early teen years.

Their father arranged a placement for her as a maid of honor within the English court when she was sixteen, allowing her to make their own connections and learn how court- and the country at large- ran.

Bessie thrived at court, outgoing and friendly, she found herself within the inner circles of many of the most powerful people in the kingdom.

Many a betrothal were discussed for them, and at twenty-three Elizabeth found themself walking down the aisle, and married to the second son of a duke.

When the plague hit, the Oliveira family left court for one of their countryside estates, in hopes of not catching ill.

Unfortunately, their wishes were not granted and most of their household fell ill- including both Bessie’s father and husband. She had sat at their bedsides, wiping sweat from their foreheads and spoon feeding them broth, however it did no good, and both were taken.

Now, Countess of Carlisle within their own right, Bessie has returned to court and set aside their mourning clothes- after all, they have a country to serve and a trading company to run; they have lost too much to throw it away.

She hopes that this great meeting in France brings peace (and perhaps lines her pockets), so that they may return home with little worries.

Billy Kaplan is a great kid, a really great kid, and he’s meant for great things. However, that doesn’t mean that he has his whole life in order. In fact, he’s made everyone else’s life just a little bit more out of order. While travelling through dimensions and looking at different scenarios, he couldn’t help thinking about how interesting it would be if people were younger, accidentally bringing that into reality as a result.

It seemed to be a chaotic spell. Not everyone was made younger, but a lot of them went from fully grown adults to tiny children while others were only made younger by a few years. This affected everyone differently. Some of them noticed the difference. They remembered their older lives and what they experienced. They retained their powers and had to deal with them even at such young ages. Others didn’t know there was any change at all. As far as they knew they had only ever grown to be the age they were, never knowing the pain and hardships and powers that the older versions of them had or would experience.

How will everyone handle this sudden shift? What kind of chaos will it bring? Who all was changed by it? How long will it take for this to be fixed?

The event will last from July 30th to August 6th. As a reminder, no one has to participate in this event if they don’t want to.
