If you are thinking about it on paper, the bus running every half hour doesn't sound so bad, until you're waiting at the stop and you miss a bus or it's delayed. Then you're waiting a very, very long time. To people who never take transit, that's probably fine. Why do you care. To people who only take transit, they're expecting it, it's baked in their lives. But the important part, what really impacts our cities, is what happens to people for whom transit is an option.
The spiral goes like this. You go to take the bus instead of driving, thinking "I'm going to o have a couple drinks" or "I don't want to worry about parking where I'm going." So you take bus. First bus is right on time. But then you transfer from your neighborhood line to the line that takes you where you actually want to go. And your bus is delayed. And it only comes every 30 minutes. And then you're waiting, 40 minutes later, wondering where your bus is, knowing you could have driven there in 20 minutes.
Why would you ever chose to take a bus again? The bus made you waste precious time on your day off just sitting there. So next time you drive. Ridership goes down. When the transit authority asks for more money for more buses and more drivers, people point to the ridership numbers and say "why should we pay for this instead of paying for our schools/police/baseball stadium/parks/police again (let's be real that's who's taking all the money)?" If we want to increase ridership we need to actually design and fund functional transit networks. If we want people to actually ride the bus we need to make it a better option than driving, which means reliable service, which you don't get with a bus every 30 minutes.
Every 15 minutes, everywhere, all of the time.

Random Things About Your Person
Tumblr media
From Elle: Pulled This One From The Drafts... wasn't going to post it but maybe there's something useful in it for someone. It's a chill one ✌️
Notes:
Definition of 'Your Person': At this point, I'm not sure how I personally define 'Your Person', so I guess I'm leaving that up to you're interpretation. For now, let's just say someone you'll have an impactful connection with.
Reading Layout: This reading is done in a brain-dump style where the info is just bullet as it came to me and less organised.
Dividers From X
Reading Masterlist | Patreon | Paid Readings -- Open 🥂
PILE 1
This person is such a loving and nurturing person… they could even help heal your inner child. If you want kids then this will transfer over to how they parent and it's very heartwarming.
They give off ethereal vibes. Very in tune with their intuition or have a strong sense of knowing
They could be your 'perfect match'
Someone you 'grow old' with or could envision yourself 'growing old' with
They could have a diverse friend group or their friend group is very important to them.
Night and the moon could be super important. They could be born at night, you meet at night or you communicate with them through your dreams.
They’re very abundant. Regardless of how much money they make, they just have such a rich life that you can see they are without want.
They’re very calming. They could calm your nervous system.
You’re going to have a very passionate/intimate relationship
There could be a 1-3 year age difference between you two (this is more so if you're interested in age differences... I don't why but I ended up reading those here)
They’re trustworthy and reliable
A very strong, gentle and protective person
Tumblr media
PILE 2
Could live by the water or be very emotional.
They’re your heart, your everything. It might be hard to deny your attraction to them… but not physically. More so like a knowing once you meet this person that they play a significant role in your story
'Lionheart'... Regal energy
Lots to learn from them... So much that I actually wrote it twice lol
Kind of exotic… very beautiful
They don’t bark, they bite
They're someone who makes things happen
Very quiet…. It makes me think of something that I saw that goes along the lines of "You're harmless, not peaceful. If you’re peaceful you’re capable of great violence" or something like that. This is not meant to say that they're this aggressive/violent person. I feel like it's quite the opposite really.
I kept seeing this image of coming across a wounded animal, a wolf to be exact. You can see they've been in a fight/injured and are on guard. They're not going to hurt you but you can see that they are alert and will attack if you show you mean harm. A case of survival...
I feel like they hold the key to your happiness in a way
Something angelic about them… it could be their mind too
3 to a 8 year age difference (this is more so if you're interested in age differences… I don't why but I ended up reading those here)
An unexpected meeting
Beauty in darkness. Easily stressed or anxious. It feels very tense compared to pile/group 1
They’ve overcome a lot… flexible at a cost
One of you is further ahead in life than the other
Protective of their energy. Loyal, ambitious.
Overstimulated frequently or easily
Tumblr media
PILE 3
They may be big on naps. Like napping together is their love language
They may be a little weird
Grumpy x sunshine vibes
Whimsy or connected to their inner child, youthful vibe
Very calm and peaceful
You two could be polar opposites but you work well together.
Their appearance can change a lot... I think more so through them willingly changing it. Really, don't be alarmed if you come home and they look completely different. I feel like they're mischievous and would get a kick out of your reaction
You could have a 2-6 year age difference (this is more so if you're interested in age differences… I don't why but I ended up reading those here)
They've managed to maintain a positive disposition despite the hardships they've faced
They could give off a met you in a past life vibe
Either good at helping you relax or they easily get stressed out but then can just as easily relax themself
Could be very creative or artistic... muse energy
Could like to take their space/time alone.... but could get lost in their head if not careful.
"Living in alignment" could be important to them... they may have a set of personal values or principles they really like to adhere to.

The Gaia Thomas situation
If you don’t use Twitter/X, here is a brief summary of what’s going on for those who use tumblr and have caught glimpses of the current events going on over there related to someone whose name is Gaia Thomas. All information explained here is publicly accessible and can be found if you search on X/Twitter.
Gaia Thomas made two gofundme fundraisers for the following people who needed help in relation to Palestine: Mai Rajab and Kareemadnan. She befriended them and promised the money would go towards them.
Unfortunately as of March 3rd, it seems Gaia had no plans to actually support them and sent Mai a text saying “I am not responsible for your travel. I wish you the best of luck.” And promptly closed the GoFundMe before reopening it. Originally both had been closed but both are open. Mai is the main one who’s posted about it, but Kareem is affected as well.
Currently there has been no updates about what Gaia Thomas has to say about the situation, but a post on Twitter/X made by cérise 🌻 says Gaia is “a disabled writer who is a self-claimed expert in cultural awareness, health and empowerment” (a direct quote from the original tweet) and Gaia does have a LinkedIn page.
The two GoFundMe’s are linked below if you’d like to report them as Gaia isn’t giving the money to the people she was going to help. This post will update if anything changes but I wanted to make a post that explained it without images. The fundraisers were still open as of posting.
Mai fundraiser (Closed now)
Kareem fundraiser (Closed now)
If you want to help Mai and Kareem, their on Twitter/X and their usernames are as follows on there: Mai _Gazan and Kareemalaklouk
Latest update at 3/5/2023 3pm: Following the accusations, Gaia posted this update claiming she was supposedly fell for a scam. The following text is copied from her response on the fundraisers:
Dear donors,
I was the victim of an online scam. My credit union caught the scam when I tried to wire transfer the proceeds of Mai's fundraiser. In the interests of donor safety, I blocked donations at that time. The evidence is in the hands of the Alameda Police Department. Please be aware that this could happen to you. All funds have been repaid in the form of donations to the original fundraiser as requested by the GoFundMe team. I have asked GoFundMe to return the funds to the hands of the original donors.
Sincerely, Gaia Thomas
Latest update at 3/8/2024: All the fundraisers made by Gaia have been closed and you can now find new ones made by someone else that is more reliable then Gaia was. Gaia insists that she was scammed but she wasn’t. She tried to take the money as her own and didn’t like it when she was caught out by the people she was supposed to help. The money donated has been refunded but those funds will likely never reach the three people Gaia was meant to help.

why logan isn't getting replaced at imola, a breakdown
(aka a breakdown so my fellow logan girlies (gn) don't break down)
I've seen this getting around, with a little traction and some people panicking a bit so let's discuss.
Joe Saward has not been a reliable source of transfer news for some time. Let's be real. A lot of this is gaining traction because Saward is "a 35 year accredited F1 journalist". And this is true, he has long experience in F1 and is accredited in the paddock. But it has been many, many years since he was accurate about driver market predictions.
You have to be eighteen to get a superlicence (thanks, Max!). Antonelli does not turn 18 until August. For him to be granted a superlicence in time for Imola, the FIA would have to issue an exemption. If Antonelli was carving up F2 it'd be one thing. But he's been far from convincing so far, and it hasn't just all been Prema. He is an F2 rookie - and he looks like it.
James Vowles has already said that Antonelli to Williams next year is not a given, because Williams has its own juniors - of which Logan is one. Now I know James has been in the bad books with plenty of us since the whole chassis debacle in Melbourne but I do believe him on this. He is quite keen to establish that Williams is not a feeder team for Mercedes and that has been the board's position for some time too (remember their angry denunciation when the rumour was that Oscar was going to replace Latifi at Silverstone?).
James Vowles still believes in Logan. Now I know some of you will be claiming this is doubtful, but I do believe it to be true. In the Japan Vowles Verdict he was warm in his praise for Logan's race pace and early stint - to the point his voice literally changed tone while answering the question. He was absolutely effusive in his praise for Logan after the Melbourne debacle. I do genuinely think that James wants to keep him.
Bringing in a driver change mid-season is incredibly disruptive - you don't do it unless you are certain you're getting a better deal out of it. Last year Alpha Tauri brought in Daniel halfway through the year. The main reason for this was because he was a fairly immediate upgrade to de Vries. But even if you're scornful of Daniel's pace, the other reason they wanted him was for his feedback and car development ability, which AT were pretty vocal that they found invaluable. Bringing in an extremely green, unprepared rookie who has barely worked with the team would be a recipe for instability, morale issues, and more broken bits, which is the absolute last thing Williams needs.
Toto Wolff can't offer James Vowles a big enough incentive to take his junior. Let's cut to the chase on this: to insinuate that James would take Antonelli just because Wolff asked is a pretty big insult to James. He's not Wolff's lapdog. They clearly respect one another and have a personal relationship outside of the sport, but that doesn't mean he'll just do whatever Toto wants - he didn't get to be team principal that way. So Toto would need to offer James an incentive. But what can he offer that James actually needs? Williams aren't broke any more, so money isn't going to cut it. And Williams already run the Mercedes engine, so Toto can't convince him with that. What Williams actually needs - the cultural and procedural overhaul that James has begun - Toto cannot help with.
tl;dr keep cool and keep the faith, logan fans. there's still plenty of time left in our ride.

nct dream's high school reputation
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
mark :
mark is the type of person that randomly got popular just for being nice. even if he's known by more than half of the school population he likes to only have a few close friends than a lot of fake friends. mark is literally the definition of social skills because its easy to start a conversation with him and he's really polite. his closest friends are the ones he knew since his childhood and its hard for people to join his inner circle of friends. mark is really popular and he has top grades which makes people and teachers praise him.
renjun :
renjun didn't even know that he was popular until he got a few love confessions in his junior year. he often stays in the background because he doesn't like the attention but if someone bothers him he will definitely talk back. renjun isn't loud but if his friends get bullied or bothered he will defend them as if his life depended on it. renjun might've been the class president back in elementary school but he stopped because it got annoying after. renjun definitely got popular throughout his school years but just like mark he likes to only have a few close friends.
jeno :
jeno is known for being one of the best athletes in the whole school. there used to be a rumor of him stealing lunch money from younger kids but he's the sweetest guy you could ever talk to. you would probably be intimidated by him at the beginning but as soon as he does that eye smile you realized that he's the opposite of what people make him look like.
haechan :
haechan is that one friend you either love or hate, no in between. he fits the role of the class clown really well but he's not that extroverted as people say. if you'd ever become friends with him it would probably be very awkward at the beginning but after spending more time with him you'd start understanding his humor. even if he doesn't listen to the teacher he gets good grades.
jaemin :
jaemin is the type of friend that gets along well with everyone wether they're younger or older than him. he might not start the conversation but as soon as you start talking to him he will never let go of the conversation. he's known for his bright personality and if you ever ask him for homework he will not hesitate to give it to you. he never had bad history with anyone and you've never heard a bad rumor about him either.
chenle :
chenle isn't popular but everyone knows him. his loud and extroverted personality stands out the most that makes a lot of people admire him. whenever you're with him you would be laughing the whole time. chenle is definitely one of your most funniest friends that you'll ever have in your whole life. he's also a student that barely puts any effort in his studies but gets good grades.
jisung :
jisung is that kid that just randomly transferred in the middle of the school year with no friends at the beginning. he might seem introverted when you first meet him but as soon as he opens up to you he can be one of the most reliable friends ever. jisung would rather stay with a small friend group than a big one because he'll only show his real personality with the people he trusts the most. from afar he looks shy but if you eventually get closer to him he can be really loud. jisung never really got much attention from others. the only time you can vividly remember was when he was playing soccer and every girl was fawning over him.

Return to Base (John Price x Reader)
John helps you celebrate your last day of work.
2.2k word (longer one, sorry!)
CW: swearing, mild violence, suggestive themes
Feedback welcome!
Tumblr media
Your last day at work comes fast, having only given one week notice. John has unlocked some sort of laissez faire demon inside you, encouraging you to do what you want with little regard for standard procedures. You can’t stomach the idea of sitting through two more weeks of mind-numbing torture, so you simply don’t, your former employer’s opinion on the matter somehow no longer consequential. You haven’t decided yet if John has been a bad influence on your already impulsive nature or just given you the confidence to do what you wanted all along. The idea of being wholly reliant on someone – even if it is John, one of the most reliable people you know – makes your toes curl in anxiety. The last few days of your period become an emotional rollercoaster but John, blessed man, takes it all in stride without so much as blinking twice.
It should come as no surprise to you that your belongings fit into a single banker’s box, but it somehow still does. Cleaning out your desk only takes a fraction of the time you’ve set aside for the task. Your lack of interest in decorating your space ought to have been a clue to your lack of enthusiasm for the job. Co-workers you have maintained tepid friendships with wish you well and eat cake on your behalf at lunch. You are supremely grateful that John can pick you up shortly afterwards, negating your need to navigate public transport - or any further well wishes with an awkward box in your arms. You don’t even manage to summon guilt over not learning the route from the wretched building back to the flat, John never giving you the opportunity. Your decision to quit came hot on the heels of moving in with him, the most tumultuous few days you can remember since your parents died.
When he arrives, even John is taken aback by how little you have to remove from the premises, knowing your penchant for making a space your own.
“This is it? Everything in only one box?” He’s eyeing you as if you’re about to drop the news that there are six more waiting in the lobby just out of sight.
“I know. I didn’t realize until I was packing how little I brought in.”
“Well, let’s be grateful for small mercies I suppose, love.”
John smiles, relieving you of the box and settling it onto the floor of the backseat so it doesn’t slide around. The drive home is far more relaxed than you had anticipated, suddenly no longer wracked with guilt over your choice. The finality of it more freeing than you had imagined. John is in a good mood too and it’s catching you up, so you agree to his suggestion to go to his local pub even though it’s still somewhat early. Your local pub now, too. John parks and you wander down hand in hand in the afternoon sunshine, not bothering to remove your box from the back seat of the car first.
John baits you with a familiar argument about his beloved Liverpool’s trade options before the transfer window and within two pints you are in fine form. You can’t help bickering with him to the amusement of the bartender, any concerns of work long forgotten. The two of you have set up shop at the end of the rail, next to where the waitress punches her orders in, out of the main flow of the room.
“What a waste of money, the man will be injury riddled, mark my words.”
You’re proselytizing, waving off John’s sputtering protests about a potential acquisition. He’s about to list all the goal stats for the player in question again when you cut him off, feeling your alcohol.
“Wanna make a bet? I’ve heard the stats twice now, hot stuff, but I don’t know what the past is going to do for his present - which is babying his ACL until it inevitably tears again.”
“What do you want to bet, love? Better be something you can stand to lose.”
John’s teasing, his arm resting on the bar, his focus mostly on you. He can see down the bar over your shoulder and motions to the bartender for another round when the other man looks to your corner. You bite your lip and smirk, not answering, waiting for his attention to resettle.
It only takes John about three seconds to catch up to the gutter your mind is currently in. His pupils dilate slightly, making his blue eyes look darker in the low pub lights.
“It’s like that, is it, love?” His voice deepens, pitched low for you only.
“Could be, if you want?”
“What kind of a question is that? Of course.”
He scoffs, thanking the bartender when he drops the pair of pints by your elbow. You hand one over to the mischievous man perched at at your side, his free hand working its way upwards from your knee.
“What’s a successful season then? Twenty goals?”
“Twenty? How about fifteen?” He counters, and you can’t help but laugh at his lowball offer.
“No, don’t be ridiculous, what will that prove? I’ll meet you in the middle at eighteen.”
“Alright love. Eighteen goals. What do I get when I win? Give it to me in detail.”
His fingers are hooking themselves into the edge of your back pocket, his sharp blue eyes trained on you intently.
You’re about to respond when somewhere further down the bar a glass shatters amid a round of shouting. It startles you and has John’s head jerking up, looking for the source. His palm settles on your upper thigh, keeping you in place as he slides off his stool, standing beside you. The disturbance is soon smoothed over, but John doesn’t return to his seat, hovering at your side instead. You know from prior experience he won’t key down if you stay at the rail of the bar as the volume only seems to be going up inside. The evening crowd is filtering in, younger and louder than either of you these days. You rest your hand on his chest, getting his attention back from the crowd.
“Do you want to go outside and finish these?” You hold up your nearly full pint and John’s nodding before you set it down again. He shrugs into his jacket again and you do the same, slinging your purse over your shoulder after sliding cash under one of the empty pint glasses to settle the tab. You grab your pint and follow John as he cuts a swath through the pub to the heaters set up out front for the smoking crowd.
It's quieter out here and the cool air gives you an excuse to press into John’s solid form. He’s still on edge but doesn’t pull away when you wrap his arm around your shoulders. You drink your pint as you try to ease him back into a conversation.
“What about our bet? You want to shake on it to seal the deal?” You redirect him to your previous conversation, hoping the lure of sexual favours will be enough to lift his mood again. It seemingly works, because he’s squeezing you and bending to press his mouth to your temple.
“Given the nature of the deal, that seems a bit too unfamiliar, don’t you think love?”
“Depends on what we’re shaking I suppose.” You smirk, bumping your elbow into his belly gently, making him chuckle lowly.
“I’d settle for lips if you are insisting on closing this deal here and now.” John answers archly, making you smile into your pint before you shoot him an amused look.
“Mmk, fair.” You raise up on your toes and kiss him, gripping his jacket with your free hand.
John’s lips are warm, in sharp contrast to the cool winter air and you steal a second kiss before releasing your grip on his jacket.
“For luck.” You grin and he swats at your ass lazily, fondness shining in his eyes.
“Cheeky, already cheating, love.” He chastises, his big body blocking most of the other pub goers, huddled outside around the heaters.
You are grateful to be outside in the falling dark, hidden from sight so no one can see you blush at John’s hands on your body. The buzz the alcohol is giving you is blending with the heady arousal his nearness brings, making you giddy and handsy. John’s handling his alcohol better, indulgent with your hands in his shirt and jacket, picking at him.
He relaxes more but he’s still on edge, his eyes constantly roaming. As familiar as you are with John, there are still some sides of him that you don’t see often, and his agitated side is one of them. You aren’t versed enough to know what helps ease him out of it and bite your lip in thought, shifting beside him. Likely getting some distance between yourselves and the increasingly rowdy crowd would be a decent start, you can’t help but think fuzzily.
“Let’s get out of here and finish up the leftovers at home, what do you say hot stuff?”
John brings his attention back to you and tries to hide his smile at your use of ‘home’ to describe his flat. He agrees easily, needing no further convincing and you take a last sip before handing him the nearly empty glass. He finishes off his pint and stacks the glasses, carrying them back to set on the bar for the staff. You turn and wait for him, rocking on your toes in the cold, missing his warmth at your side already.
An arm settles over your shoulders again, but the angle is all wrong, too low against your frame. You jerk your shoulders up to your ears, trying to dislodge the heavy weight of the stranger’s arm.
“Hey!” Your balance is shot from the beer, and you sway unsteadily as you try to get free, pressing into the stranger’s side more closely than you would prefer.
“S’alright babe, just helping you warm up, hey?”
“Get off of me, the fuck do you think you are doing?” You elbow the strange man hard in the ribs and his arm tightens around you, dragging you closer.
“Over here, we’ve got a heater for ya’.” You can smell the booze and cigarettes on his breath, his face way to close to your own. You scrunch up your nose and try to pull out of his orbit.
“I’m here with someone, get off!”
“Ah shame, he’s ditched you, has he? Nice looking bird like yourself ought to have -“
Just as you are debating trying to duck out of his grip backwards, John’s back looking positively thunderous.
“Oi!”
The stranger is suddenly dropping his own pint with a smash as John bends his arm back in a clearly unnatural angle, forcing him to let go of you to stay on his feet as he’s physically moved off.
“Fuck!”
The drunk man yells, drawing the attention of everyone nearby. John forces him onto his tiptoes with his vice-like grip, awkwardly stepping the drunk away from you.
“Fucking hands to yourself, you worthless git.”
John’s tone is black with menace and it straightens your spine with alarm.
“Christ, it’s alright John, I’m alright.”
The last time you saw John’s face so severe was during the break-in, which makes you pause in reaching for his arm to tug him away. Your hands flutter in front of you while you desperately try to get your alcohol-soaked brain to process faster.
“Apologize!” John’s ignoring you, jolting the man’s arm and making him yelp loudly in pain.
“Fuck, I’m sorry. Didn’t mean nothing.” He half shouts and the crowd are murmuring, gossiping about what’s going on. You can feel your cheeks flame and bite your lip, anxiously twisting your fingers.
“Alright, it’s alright. We’re good.”
You try a soothing tone of voice, acknowledging the apology for the sake of the man’s elbow joint.
“What a load of shite.”
John shoves the man hard, his arm twisted back and unable to break his fall. He lands hard and heavy on his side, his shoulder at an awkward angle making him cry out. His mates rush forward to help him to his feet, talking over top of each other. You take that as your cue and wrap yourself around John’s arm before he can take a step forward.
“Please John, I’m sick of the police. Come on, let’s go home. He learned his lesson.”
You coax, taking a few steps away onto the sidewalk. He reluctantly follows, and you can feel the tension thrumming through his big frame when his hand wraps around yours.
“I would fucking hope so, the waste of skin.”
John all but spits at the crowd trying to help the drunk man and his injured arm up. None look brave enough to test their mettle against him in defence of their friend, to your silent and sincere thanks. His long strides quickly catch up with you, and then it’s you who has to scurry to keep pace with him on the walk back, his fingers firmly entwined with yours, tugging you along.

This post will be about how I view love/relationships, the situations I find myself in because of these placements, and how people attracted to me view me because of these placements
TAURUS VENUS
Taurus Venus people typically want partners who are conventionally beautiful and have some sort of stability in their life. (meaning money and some sort of luxury). And for me yeah I gotta be with a partner who is gorgeous I'm sorry but I'm not. Of course other stuff matters and I've given not so attractive people a chance but I've learned that if I'm not fully attracted to them then it's not gonna happen. "Don't you know that a man being rich is like a girl being pretty? You wouldn't marry a girl just because she's pretty but my goodness, doesn't it help?"
Now of course having a Venus ruled Venus can bless the native with beauty. And when I was younger I didn't experience it much but now that I'm older I see it more and more now. whatever type of beauty that I have, I getting certain treatment because of it. Now of course I've used it to my advantage cuz, you'd do the same thing don't lie. But people use the phrase, " Beauty is a curse" for a reason. Certain judgment and preconceived ideas people have of you because of your looks is very real and it transfers into my love life.
Of course I want people to find me attractive and I want a partner that sees me as beautiful but that's not all I want. just like me wanting a gorgeous partner, I also want a stable, reliable, and romantic one. But of course on my end of things my love life has just been, "I think she's hot/pretty/beautiful/" and that's it. its getting stale pretty fast.
VENUS 9H
9H can rule over what you believe in/ worship and having Venus in the 9H can mean that your partners may have a tendency to put you on a pedestal and "worship" you. When I was younger this wasn't that apparent but now that I'm older and in the "real world" I experience it more and more. And don't get me wrong I believe I should be treated like a queen and I should be thoroughly respected but it creeps me out when men come on to me so strong. One of them wanting to take a road trip with me, wanting to run away with me and would always call me a princess and shit when we weren't even together?!?!?!!
I don't even want to know what men are saying about me in private.
VENUS SQAURE NEPTUNE
not only gives me a false security in the illusion of love it also gives other an illusion of me. Venus ruling beauty and Neptune ruling Glamor/Illusion/Fantasy makes love life more complicated than it needs to be. These people might be seen as a dream or unreal to others which on paper sounds cool but its not that fun to experience
Similar to Venus 9H you are put on a pedestal but this time the version of you that these people are lusting/loving or obsessed over isn't real. Or at the very least they are projecting a version of you that you aren't all the time. I don't even want to know what type of fantasies or false perceptions guys have on me. I'm all about trusting my intuition and every guy that was ever interested in me gave me that vibe.
I feel like this placements can indicate someone having high standers because no one can meet the love life these people dream of. But it being square means that I'll have to learn to let go of some of their illusions of love and to truly experience it.
NORHT NODE CONJ. VENUS
In this life the themes of Venus are very important and my souls missions involves all things beauty, love, and the Arts.
specifically with love the major lessons ill learn in this life will be associated with all of my relationships. The first lesson I learned through a relationship was that you can't change people no matter how badly you want two. the second one was you don't owe anybody a relationship just because they treat you the way you should be treated. And I have a feeling I got a lot more lessons to learn
combined with my 7H placements and this aspect I think in this life I was meant to figure what love is to me.
VENUS TRINE JUPITER
Apparently because I have this aspect I'm supposed to be "lucky in love" and yeah no thats not the case for me. This more tells me what type of partner I should settle for. And it makes since that I have yet to be lucky in love because I keep dating people from my hometown/area.
I have no doubt I'll have more luck dating people from far away/foreign places.
VENUS SEXTILE SATURN
explains my pickiness in love/relationships and fathers my previous point of learning a lot of lessons through love/relationships
this might indicate finding the right person for me at a later age and/or learning to date more mature people
VENUS SEXTILE URANUS/URANUS 7H
I always wondered why I get so bored when dating people or having short lived relationships and this makes a lot of sense. the people I pursue have to keep up my attention or ill get bored and end it abruptly
this also explains getting into strange, unique and unconventional situations pertaining to potential partners/romantic interests. Right now I'm dealing with multiple guys at work having a crush on me so thats great. And one of them spikes my anxiety and paranoia because my gut intuition doesn't trust him.
this placement can also indicate someone being very conflicted or closed off on relationships. they crave something unconventional or something different from a normal relationship. These people also love their freedom and don't want a relationship that feels limiting
SUN 7H
the big whammy in my chart. people with Sun the 7H typically really crave love even though it might go against how they project themselves since its the opposite sign of their rising. These people can feel very lonely in life when they don't feel like they have a special someone to love them for them
I'm in the "I don't want a relationship" phase rn which is probably a 7H Sun's worst nightmare lol or at least the most difficult thing for them to go through cuz thats legit all they want. hell its all I want but its not something I need right now. Plus good things comes to those who wait and while I wait I'm just gonna do me and focus on my blog, work, and music.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do you have any of these placements? Do you view love the same as me? Have you experienced the same experiences as me? 💋

An Excellent Choice
Dedicated to my valentine, the lovely @mergeman
-----------------------------------------------
“You still sure you want to do this?” Brad texted.  Finn had already spent most of the bus ride on his phone, so he’d already finished reading the message by the time his text notification had finished chiming.  “It’s okay if you get cold feet.  I won’t be offended. ;) I promise!”
Finn couldn’t help but roll his eyes.  “sounds like ur the one w cold feet” he shot back.  “i already told u were doin this”  Granted, he would have been lying if he’d said that he had no fear... but Finn had worked through all of that hesitation when he purchased the bus ticket.  He’d spent far too much time and money on this offer only to back out now.
Tumblr media
Brad was offering $150,000 to a like-minded young soul who was willing to merge with him.  The man was pushing 60, and was hoping to absorb enough youth to try life over again.  For his part, Finn was sick of scraping by from paycheck to paycheck, and if that meant giving up 20 years of his life, well... at least he was being reimbursed for it.  Five years of his current job’s wages was no joke, and the funds would go a long way towards buying a reliable car, and maybe even a down payment on a house.
And anyway, it wasn’t like he was going to disappear.  Rather than opting for the type of merge that put two men into one body, this would be one of the more experimental versions where two people combine all of their traits, and each person becomes the average value.  Finn stepped off the bus and started looking around the agreed-upon meeting place to see if the other man was here.
“Guess I’ll tell my bank not to stop that money transfer.  I really didn’t think you were going to show up, but here you are.”  He watched as an older gentleman strolled up to him, looking very out of place in dark navy sweats.  More impressive was the raven black hair, which looked very out of place given his wrinkled skin and frail figure.  “What, you’ve never seen a man desperately cling to youth with hair dye before?” he asked, clearly used to the stares.  “We can’t all have vibrant hair color, Finley.”
“I’m used to your kind trying to over-compensate with fancy cars,” Finn admitted, unable to pull his eyes away from the older man’s thick beard.  “And my name is Finn.  Respect my name, and I’ll respect yours.  Bradford.”
Brad threw his head back in raucous laughter.  “Oh yes, you are an excellent choice.  Come here!”  Brad pulled him in close, and started to kiss him full on the lips.  It took Finn a few moments to realize that the odd sensation in his mouth was Brad’s tongue, and a few more moments to realize that the kiss was how Brad was planning to perform the merge.  His height was one of the first things to go-- he no longer needed to bend down to maintain contact-- and his skin felt a bit stiff as it tightened with age.  But it was the beard that really felt odd.
Tumblr media
Brad’s facial hair crept onto Finn’s chin and worked its way up his sideburns like some sort of crawling ooze, while a smaller tendril grew up toward his nose to form a mustache.  The sudden itch of new hair under his nose was a bit much, and Finn briefly opened his eyes.  The man in front of him was clearly a few decades younger, which could only mean he was now a few decades older.
“Just a bit more,” Brad said, panting for breath.  “We need to even out our hair color, and I think our weight is still a bit uneven.  Once we’re done we can stop by the courthouse and file all the paperwork.”  Finn nodded in understanding, and leaned back in for another kiss.
-----------------------------------------------
“Is it normal for hair dye to completely vanish when a merge has finished?” Brad asked, as they sat in front of a mirror in the lobby of the County Recorder Clerk.  “Our hair should be a combination of the two inputs, but it’s like your red hair and my former brown hair mixed together, rather than the deep black I was dyeing it to be once it started to go gray.”
Finn just shrugged his shoulders.  “I don’t know why you’re asking me.  You were my first merge.  I didn’t even really register that this was a technology that existed until you reached out to me.  I’m just glad we just look like twins and not, like... cloned copies of each other.”
“I’m just glad I got to keep my piercings,” Brad said as he absent-mindedly traced the heavy stud with his finger.  “Sorry if you didn’t want to deal with jewelry.  Yours look small enough that it would probably heal shut in a few weeks.”
Tumblr media
“I hadn’t really thought about it,” Finn admitted, still getting used to the idea that the man with the thick beard was his new reflection and his new body.  “Do you think they would let us change our names when we register with the state?  I really don’t feel like a Finley anymore.”
“I hope so,” Brad replied, following up with another deep laugh.  “I was planning to change my name to Bradley.  It won’t change my nickname but, it just feels right somehow.  Like our names merged when our bodies did.”
Finn smiled.  “I think you’re right.  Finnegan sounds pretentious and borderline obnoxious, but... I also think that it’s my name, now.”
Brad responded by slinging an arm around his shoulder, giving Finn a supportive squeeze.  “I think it’s an excellent choice.”

Sun conjunct Venus in signs: personal impressions
note: this will be a post of personal observations and feelings about the people I know IRL and on the internet. please note that i'm not a professional astrologer, and just I just love astrology the way you do. take what resonates, and i'd love to hear your comments and feedback.
Based on real life: 1. Sun and Venus in Leo always stands out from the crowd somehow. Her presence is very visible, even when she is trying to stay low key. Life of the party, supports the vibe and has positive attitude towards life, and very funny. Generous to a fault. Very caring, and does everything at her power to ensure that her family is safe. Sometimes intimidating, and exudes the energy of raw power. Loyal. Gift-gifting is definitely their love language.
2. Sun and Venus in Cancer might sound cliche, but is very family oriented, and this attachment to family might be transferred to the family's close friends.. Loves to visit and chill with family. Dreams of having baby and having a reliable husband, and help the vulnerable ones. Might seem emotionally closed off or even cold.
3. Sun and Venus in Virgo is the queen of multi-tasking, budget planning, and management. She has the vibes of high demand, high maintenance, high pay off. Prone to overthinking and suffering from low self-esteem, making them overly critical of everything. Very emotional and funny. Rational to a fault. Virgos are the queens of the chaos for me.
4. Sun and Venus in Scorpio is loyal. Sometimes it feels like these people scan people around themselves to find like-minded ones, and once found - they get attached to them for a life, thus making some kind of ride-or-die coalition. Don't like to talk a lot about personal stuff, even if they are overly chatty people. Emotional, sometimes to the point of obsession. Can't handle break-ups even with friends, it might hurt their ego, making them hate themselves. Protective and private. Trust issues. Also love comfy and chill vibes with loved ones, and very sweet to them.
5. Sun and Venus in Taurus exude calm confidence. People with a great skill to make themselves comfortable wherever they are, and if they can't get comfortable - they leave the place. They are the ones who can make relationship last longer, as they are not the ones to give up. Big foodies, big fashionistas, big money makers, and huge sex lovers - love everything that brings them sensation, comfort, and chill. Caring to a fault. Males with these placements in my experience respect and love women and femininity in general, and approach all themes related with extra caution and attention.
Based on the internet:
Sun and Venus in Aries - the bright and assertive ones. It feels like that they hella passionate in whatever they do and in their likes, and in most cases they will follow their passion. Sometimes feisty to a fault. Might get overly sexualised, and struggle from harassment. Again, the ones that it's not possible to ignore, because usually they make some statements by being themselves.
Sun and Venus in Pisces gives off hopeless romantic vibes with some sadness, sorrow and unavailability around them. Sometimes it feels like they want to reach the stars they were born never to reach. Kind of in a search for something deeper and meaningful. Artistic, and are able to convey their feelings in art. Also, very emotional.
I feel like Sagittarius Sun with Sagittarius Venus, Gemini Sun with Gemini Venus, Capricorn Sun with Capricorn Venus, and Libra with Libra Suns are not quite common positions in my radar. If you have some observations about these placements, please let me know 🧸
Thank you

hey can I get some beginner coh1 tips cause my team miss half their shots and can't afford new pants
No you can't I ran out of tips a while ago...
Tumblr media
So I'm seeing two issues you're having rn, so let me address them individually.
"My team misses half their shots"
Tumblr media
That's actually common for like, level 1. Especially for the Bug enemies you might have encountered - those can only be reliably killed with magic spells, as they have high evasion.
So if I have a tip for that, is that you should run from said bug enemies if you run out of MP, and instead focus on killing other types of enemies such as Blurred Silvers/Golden Deads (the coins basically). Those give both plenty of EXP and Gold.
As soon as you reach Level 2-3, you should be able to hit enemies more reliably with your melee attacks. You can also sleep whole enemy groups with the Doze spell, though its success rate is mixed from what I've tested (It works best on the mole enemies which are another difficult type of enemy in the earlygame).
"I can't afford new pants"
Also pretty common early on, and I feel it's the one thing I get asked about the most about CoH1 (lol).
Any and all enemies you defeat will drop a small amount of gold. But most importantly, they might also drop crafting materials and other items.
These need to be identified, something which can be done at shops at a price, or free by having a Bishop or Alchemist in your party.
If you have either of them, then Identify any and all items you have, then sell all of them. Crafting is not something you should worry about in the earlygame - only when you have a comfortable amount of cash.
If you don't have any, then either create a burner character... Or you could instead find another copy of the item you want to sell.
Identifying at shops costs the same as an item's selling price. But that price remains the same, even if you have more than one of said item.
So, for example, an Iron Junk material can be identified for 1G, which would normally be its selling price. However, you can still identify it for only 1G, even if you have 99 of them - giving you a net profit of 98G upon selling them.
So basically, only identify items at shops if you have more than one of them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As I mentioned before, you can also focus on defeating the coin enemies. These are most commonly found on Map 18, and besides what I've said, they can also drop Ancient/Magic coins which can sell for 150G.
You can check which map you're in by pressing A (keyboard). Though only if you either use the Sight/Mapor spell or, well, have the physical map of the dungeon you're in.
Tumblr media
In the case of Novice Road, you can actually get a map of it for free by talking to Yuno at the office.
(take that line to heart btw, don't rely on the Mapor spell and especially not in the lategame).
If you're feeling extra stingy: Don't pay the 100G for the Dorms to heal. Instead, have your healer recover their MP for free, then use their spells until everyone's at max HP again.
Also save a lot in case a character dies, as reviving can turn expensive if it fails once (aka the character turns into ash. Though in general you don't want this to happen at all since that's one step away from permadeath).
Now, if you're that desperate for money and somehow all of the above failed:
Make a new character, unequip and sell all their stuff, and transfer the money they get to one of your actual party members. Rinse and Repeat until you're satisfied.
This is the classic cheese strategy most DRPGs have, and it works just as well in CoH1. It's just... slow, though. And I wouldn't really recommend it for a first run, as it might dilute your experience with the game.
Long post, but hopefully this helps you in the earlygame of CoH1!

If you ever wanted to share some of those feelings about prem teams and poor roster management, I would love to hear about it! I'm still very much in learning mode and love to know people's thoughts :D
Oh all the time!! I'm going to put this under the cut because this is going to be a long one gang! (This is also going to target Man City a bit, and Nottingham Forest, and Chelsea a bit as they are the current examples I could think of so ... sorry guys)
Introduction - Premier League Squad Rules
So in general the Premier League squad rules are that you can name a 25 man squad to play in the Premier League that season. Only 17 of those players can be not "home-grown" and under 21s are not included in this list.
A "home-grown" player is a player who, irrespective of nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday.
So these rulings massively encourage teams to sign very talented Under-21s to their academies (ideally under 18s) so that they can play them if needed and keep them so they class as home-grown when they get older.
Point 1 - Homegrown Players
Therefore, what a lot of rich title challenging prem teams do is they find reliable, would be fine in the team but not exceptional, cheap homegrown players to fill those slots and make use of that 'extra' space. For example Man City have a third choice keeper Scott Carson who (credit to him) has the most lush job imaginable. He plays like 10 minutes a year or maybe a few matches in lesser trophies but because he is a homegrown player they might as well have him on the squad list instead of an international third choice keeper who would take up one of the valuable spots. So if you have no intention of playing a player except for in dire, there is truly no one else situations then get a homegrown player from a smaller team for cheap.
But! What this does mean is it can really hamper the careers of these homegrown players because the club has no intention of playing them (often the managers don't even really like them or play a formation that suits them), they are just there because you might as well. An example of this is Kalvin Phillips at Man City. Now by now a lot of people on here know how much of a fan of Kalvin I am (he is a wonderful human being, excellent defensive mid and all round sweet guy), but even that aside he does not play more than 15 minutes in a match for Man City because there is no space for him. He is used to rest players when matches are already won and that's it really. The only position he could fill is filled by Rodri and if Rodri can't play then Pep changes the whole formation. SO he is only there for dire emergencies. But he is an England player, he is national standard and despite all the medals, the lack of squad rotation is harming his career in a massive way.
So the home-grown player rule is great to improve development of English players but it encourages teams to sign players they don't really want or need because there are spots to fill.
Point 2 - If you want him then I'll have him
(This is particularly the case with under-21s)
With clubs being bought by oil money now, this leads to a "throw money at the situation approach" which means that as soon as a player is highly rated then lots of clubs jump at the chance to buy that player whether that is actually a player they need or fits in their scheme. If this player is under 21 then it's better because they don't fit into the 25 man squad. For example this summer transfer window Chelsea signed 12 players. Three of them were defensive midfielders ... a position that AT MOST you play 2 of at once. And they already had three! This panic of "oh no, this team want this player so he must be better than what I've already got" leads again to teams getting players that don't improve the team and/or are surplus to requirements. But you can't throw your multimillion dollar signing who you have very publicly signed to the wayside! So they have to play no matter what because so much effort and money has gone into their signing. You can't bench someone who cost £100m for an academy player or you will be torn to shreds even if it might be better for a team to rest their star or if god forbid he ain't performing, it is so difficult for the manager for the manager to make changes.
Point 3 - Win at all costs!
So, being part of a Premier League side means congested fixtures. You might have European competition, you might have FA Cup, you might have World Club Cup, you might have League Cup. So this means playing a lot of football! You might think "Candle, contrary to your argument here this sounds like a great opportunity to rotate in players so that people don't get tired or injured?" WRONG! Particularly in mid table clubs, cups are their best chance to win trophies. If you want to win trophies you play your starters to not risk an upset. But then you need to play your starters in the league because league performance is the most important thing for Euro qualification or to avoid relegation. Big clubs also don't want the shame of being victim to a giant killing so may play starters against lower league sides to avoid that. If you are worried about your league position and lose to Arsenal in the cup, fine. If you are worried about your league position and lose to Forest Green Rovers in the cup, you are a disgrace and an embarrassment to the sport. Therefore encourages lack of rotation because you are more likely to win if your best players are out there.
Point 4 - Attention Span of a Goldfish
The fans are to blame for this ... sorry fans. If you rotate in a player, and that player has a bad game or is lacking match fitness then managers get torn to shreds in the media, by the fans and the board of their club. So that player gets benched again, even if it was a blip or against a superior side. If a player is playing well and is benched for rest and then the team loses then managers get torn to shreds in the media, by the fans and the board of their club. The culture doesn't encourage looking after the players and maybe accepting that there might be some iffy performances for a player to get settled into the side or slightly less impressive performances from fringe players. For example Darwin "Captain Chaos" Nunez for Liverpool. When he first came to Liverpool he was god awful, couldn't even hit the stands when he shot, got the nickname Captain Chaos because no one knew what he was doing. He kept being benched, because he wasn't doing what the club wanted but all that did was knock his confidence and mean that it was a lot harder to rotate strikers.
Point 5 - Favourite Children
Simple point, most managers have players that they just ... like and others that they don't. Managers are human. You are more likely to pick a player that you like to start than one that might irritate you or you didn't really want on your team EVEN IF it is to the benefit of your favourite child to rest them.
TLDR - Premier League clubs (particularly those at the top of the table) are awful at reducing burnout and injury in their players through rotation. This is partially through team design, external pressures, stupid signings, cost of players, and favouritism. It is bizarre that the teams that have the best depth in squads are the most reluctant to use it

hey y'all, I'm percy the occasional e-begger. I haven't been getting enough hours at work and I'm short my $160 car insurance payment and my $70 phone payment. I put them on credit every month but I've been trying to dig myself out of the credit hole, not back into it.
I've also been promising to help my trans girlfriend get her ears pierced for the first time since like... Christmas 2021. it just hasn't come together money-wise, but if you want to help fund that it's like $60 for standard jewelery & piercing.
If anyone has some pennies to throw my way I'd really appreciate it. If you can't I'd also love a reblog or for you to share this post with someone who might be able to help 💚
ca$happ: $zedadire
For some more context, I'm a transmasc working for Starbucks and ever since I tried to unionize my store in May of 2022 they've been retaliating with unstable hours and low staff ratios. :( I come home from work every night with my legs throbbing from the hips down; I'm chronically ill and can barely work the hours they do give me.
I'm also in the middle of moving for school! at 28 which is ... maybe late but better late than never right? I just have to make it to September, that's when the first financial aid payment will deposit 😬 I'm hoping that transferring to a new district will also help me get more reliable hours.
as a reward for reading all that, have some photos of my really cute cat Hazelnut. when you help me, you're helping her:

[IMAGE ID: 2 photos of a small cinnamon-grey tabby cat. In the first she is inside a white box in a cluttered garage with her face half in shadow. In the second she is curled up on a bed inside a purple blanket, her paws tucked together very primly. In both photos she is staring through the camera into your heart because she is PERFECT (in this humble narrator's opinion). END IMAGE ID]

So for anyone who believes the medical system is relatively simple to navigate, here is how my afternoon has gone so far:
Called my insurance for help answering 5 questions. The first question took about maybe 50ish minutes to only sort of get an answer? And that was after the agent repeated back to me, several times, saying "As I previously explained" followed by an explanation that did not answer my current question. So that took a while. Then I went on to my next questions. Two of them apparently did not make sense to the agent either (in addition to me), based on the claims, and so they had to go talk to another department while also transferring me to another different department. They also were confused by another one of my previously appealed claims, and so they had to do their own digging as to what was going on. This entire call lasted just over 1 hour 40 minutes.
THEN I got to call ANOTHER number for a different hospital service because my account online wasn't showing a balance, but the letters I have received said I do have a balance. The agent who answered the phone for this call also didn't know why my balance was not showing online. This question got squared away pretty quickly, running just over 11 minutes in call time.
So now think of this: I am a (reasonably) well-educated person, with a PsyD in Clinical Psychology, and have been closely intertwined with the medical system since 2017 when I finally got one of my diagnoses. I have, in recent years, been even more intertwined with the medical system, with applying for Medicaid at one point, managing which doctors I see due to them actually being in-network with my various insurance providers through the years (not sure any of you notice, but finding an in-network provider, ESPECIALLY when on Medicaid, is extremely difficult), managing various prescription costs, talking to insurance as to why certain medications are suddenly no longer covered, advocating for myself when meeting with different providers (which they absolutely do not like but it 100% is necessary), calling insurance when something doesn't make sense on a claim (e.g., why a service, that was not specified, is suddenly not covered under an in-network provider), finding the right department to contact for insurance, trying to send messages with insurance and getting answers that pretty much say nothing with regard to answering my actual question (which then results in having to call insurance, which is not really all that fun), and there's probably more that I'm missing.
I'm also a relatively privileged individual, with a (mostly) stable wi-fi connection, a phone that can be easily charged and is currently connected, and a way to jot down notes both before and after calls (before: what questions I have; after: what the agent(s) said regarding my questions).
Now think about those in poverty. Do I have the most money? No, but I have a stable place to live, food, and water, and I have support from others (including you all!) who have helped me tremendously through financial support. But do those in poverty often have those things? Not always. Then put on top of trying to fend for basic survival necessities (which should probably be a pretty high priority) the medical system. This includes insurance (or lack thereof) and, if someone has it, paying consistently for it. This includes paying out-of-pocket costs with probably minimal money. This includes somehow getting to appointments on time with methods of transportation that may not be the most reliable, or they may cost a lot of money. This includes picking up and paying for prescriptions on time. This includes (if at all possible) communicating with one's insurance regarding claims that may not make sense. THEN we add on possible kids and have all the same barriers previously mentioned. THEN we have the possibility of someone having a job (if they're lucky enough to hold one), while managing medical things for both themselves, and if they have them, their kids. If they don't have a job, then we're looking at figuring out how to get on disability or SSI (both of which are TREMENDOUSLY difficult and tedious to get on and takes months to years to actually successfully do it). Now we're looking at if this person even has an advocate or case worker to help them. If they don't, or don't know how to get set up with one (because actually knowing what services you're entitled to, especially with different insurances, is exceedingly confusing), then they're on their own trying to navigate this vast landscape of things to manage. Oh, and we also have to consider that if someone IS on Medicaid or disability, they can only work a certain amount and take in a certain amount or else they lose their coverage. I'm not entirely sure the number of hours one is allowed to work on disability, but I want to say maybe around 15/week? (If someone actually knows this number please reach out to me and let me know!)
So we have all this mess. And think, I spent just under 2 hours on the phone with various insurance and medical providers today, but someone who is super struggling and under-privileged likely doesn't have the 2 hours needed to whatever questions they may have. Which can unfortunately result in frustration, hang-ups, and not getting an answer that can be understood in layman's terms which can result in more frustration and potentially just giving up on advocating for oneself.
It's a mess, and there are so many layers that are not discussed or even thought about by so many different people. I feel as though this needs to be said and at least somewhat recognized by others, potentially to help provide compassion to those so closely intertwined in the medical system.
