Claudia appreciation week 2023- Day 5- favorite diary entry.

"Is there a message here, my beloved father?" I asked him this evening. "That I shall be a doll forever myself?" He has given me thirty such dolls over the years if recollection serves me. And recollection never does anything else. Each doll has been exactly like the rest. They would crowd me out of my bedroom if I kept them. But I do not keep them. I burn them, sooner or later. I smash their china faces with the poker. I watch the fire eat their hair. I can't say that I like doing this. After all, the dolls are beautiful. And they do resemble me. Yet, it becomes the appropriate gesture. The doll expects it. So do I.

"Gangsters (Redone)"

If you are getting a slight de ja vu experience from this piece, that's because this drawing of the Springfield Mafia is actually a redraw of an Inktober post I did last year.

It was one of my personal favorite drawings I did from the art challenge last year, it was the most fun for me to work on and I felt I was at my most inspired during that month.

But, I felt it could have been improved in a lot of areas. Part of it was because I spent only 3 hours on it. So I wanted to give it a revisit with a little extra time and less pressure to get it out right away! Aside from improving the linework and adding some extra shadows for dimension, I decided that I wanted to keep the original limited color pallete the first one had, for the most part. And while the art critic in me still doesn't find it perfect, I love this a lot more now.

Quick "Silver"

This is a re-draw of an older drawing I did of Silvee in this outfit. And to this day I still like the outfit I gave him, but I just wanted to update it to make it a little more current and make it look a little nicer. On a side note, this pic is s'posed to be a little bit of an inside joke in reference to the hoodie he's wearing XD

Also, I know I messed up Silver's quills on his head - you don't have to tell me ^^; I'll have to re-re-draw it again someday to fix that, lol

maybe he's hacking Kraang tech or maybe he's a dork and is thinking about his stardew valley crops while waiting for some software to finish downloading and forgot to lift his googles back up is it really hacking when he's already merged with their tech? wouldn't put it past him to leave himself a backdoor

what if he is able to combine mystic powers with Kraang tech? That's how you get the ultimate turtle crossover i'm calling it now

Cyclopean Student

Did you know that "cyclopean" means "very big" as well as "reminiscent of a cyclops"? Shame this seems to have been a normal-sized doorway.

A revamp of a character I originally drew all the way back in 2013. In this case I was specifically going for a more dynamic pose, and decided during the rendering process to go for semi-realistic shading as well. Time consuming, but the results are hard to argue with.
