(By the Canadian Press) - Completing a 57 mile journey, which occupied more than nine hours, two provincial constables arrived at Bruce Mines to-day and arrested August Lindquist, a Finnish farmer, charged with wounding his wife. The woman was reported to have been shot during an altercation with her husband last evening.

Provincial police officers here received word last night that Mrs. Lindquist had been found by her son on the floor with a 22 calibre bullet wound in the vicinity of her lung. Medical aid was summoned and Mrs. Lindquist will be brought here to-day for X-ray examination. The prisoner will be brought here on the same train.

Alright!! Here's some more fun trivia about the names in Red Dead Redemption 2:

I mentioned it previously but "van der linde" means "from the linden tree" in Dutch (the west germanic language) - so 'Dutch Van Der Linde' just means 'Dutch from the linden tree'.

"Hosea" is a Hebrew name meaning 'salvation' or 'he helps' - In the Hebrew bible, Hosea is seen as a prophet of doom. Quite fitting for how much Hosea predicted the gangs downfall in the game!

John is a commonly occurring name in different versions of the bible, usually meaning 'graced by god' or along those lines - but the last name "Marston" is an English name. It was originally a habitual term but now it's a common last name meaning "a town by a marsh". Huh.

Also mentioned previously, but Arthur Morgan is a notably Welsh name with multiple meanings. "Arthur" derives from the Welsh word for bear (Arth) and "Morgan" is a combination of two Welsh words (Môr and Cant/Gant), which means sea-dweller.

Kieran and Trelawny's horses both have Welsh names too!!

Branwen is also a combination of words, ("bran" and "gwen/gwyn") that means a white or fair crow. Branwen herself was a famous heroine from the tales of the Mabinogion. She was kidnapped by the family she was forcefully married into, her only hope was a white bird she tamed and sent across the seas to alert her family and save her. The choice of name Branwen could be a reflection of how much working with horses had grounded Kieran or acted like a lifeline for him when he needed a place in the gang.

Gwydion is Trelawny's horse, a name also from the Mabinogion! For me it's especially cool because Gwydion was the son of a great goddess of magic - how fitting for Trelawny and his horse! The name itself is a description of a birthplace, Gwydion means "born of the trees". In the story, Gwydion also practiced magic and created his nephew and wife from flowers :)

True to the outlaw this cologne was inspired by, this scent is wild and free, musky and masculine, capturing the spirit of the Wild West and the lawless frontier.

The scent starts off with green, woody top notes of fir and pine, eliciting the feel of untamed forests and pastures, bolstered by a commanding blend of sandalwood, moss, and black musk.

Heart notes of brandy-infused tobacco leaves aged in sweet honey and amaretto sweetens and deepens the scent, finished off with base notes of soft leather and amber, black pepper, oak moss absolute, and smoked balsam.

Page 7. ---- Thousands of Chinese Coolies Flock to Northern Area Hunting Work ---- GOVERNMENT IS AIDING ===== Full Protection Promised With Seeds and Equipment For Those In Need ---- Dairen, April 13— With the advent of Spring, Chinese coolies are again arriving in Manchuria, some coming by steamers, others by Chinese junks, but most of them on freight trains on the Peiping-Mukden Railway. Their destinations vary. Some old-timers come to seek the jobs they had last year, plowing fields for land owners; others have contracts to work for new land-owners who have recently purchased fertile tracts from the new government at Mukden and last, are the helpless coolies who desire to find work anywhere, preferably in some uncultivated fields, where they can build shanties and work the ground for a bare but honest living.

Unexpectedly they are coming by the thousands, with all their household paraphernalia, which consists mainly of blankets covered with dust, old clothing, and a few cooking utensils.

Guns Cease With New Year The old Chinese year has passed. The roaring of cannon, the spurting of machine-gun fire, and the exploding of bombs which are seldom heard today on the Manchurian fields, passed with tho old year. Yet the faces of the Chinese immigrants show anxiety. They questioned the permanent Chinese residents whether they were wise in traveling north, where not many weeks ago, firing was audible for miles around. Were the bandits annihilated by the Japanese military, or did they escape to the hills far from the railways?

Some at those questioned stated that everywhere peace reigned while others told tales of dangers. But the poor immigrants continued northward.

According to a survey made recently by Japanese officials, only a comparatively small numbers of Chinese farmers in Manchuria attempted to escape with the Chinese business men and officials. Most of them sought safety in the Japanese railway towns or areas of protection. Those that remained with their crops, which had been or were about to be harvested, suffered greatly from thebandits and Chinese refugee-soldiers. The Japanese military did little damage to the Chinese settlers.

Occasionally large groups of bandits or refuges-soldiers, who escaped after damaging or attempting to destroy Japanese railway track, entered a village occupied by peaceful Chinese farmers and their families. They killed or chased most of the inhabitants from the village, outraged the younger women, and when Japanese airplanes found and destroyed them, it was later discovered that many innocent young women had perished with the marauders.

Aid for Immigrants The new Manchurian Government, according to recent announcement, strongly favors Chinese immigration. Full protection will be given to the immigrants, seeds, and equipment will be distributed free to those who are without means, and taxation will be small. Also, and this is very important, the farmers are promised real money for their product— money with a good valuation. The old Manchurian Government, with Marshal Chang Hsueh-liang in power, paid farmers in worthless paper notes, which were issued by the millions, The farmers suffered hardships, were always kept in debt, and had practically no means of escape, because of the old government inspectors, who derived a small gain by squeezing them down to their last cent.

All this will now be changed, according to the officials of the new government. No figures are available to indicate the number of immigrants expected in Manchuria this spring and early summer. One official explained that this is the testing year and, if everything continues to develop according to tho plans, next year will witness a great migration to Manchuria and perhaps Mongolia to till the rich, uncultivated areas.

things I want from sonic frontiers

a compendium! let sonic discover new plants and animals and places

map exploration, Sonic has to make the map as he goes

recipes and crafting!!

random encounters. people or animals who need help, who challenge him to something, who sends him on side quests

finding things in the world that don't further the story or trigger a side quest or anything, just adds to the world building and lore. you have to try to piece together what happened but ultimately it will be a mystery. anyone who knows what happened is long gone

player challenges and trophies! you know, get from point a to point b within however many minutes, climb to the tallest point in the game, find the hidden treasure, etc etc

day and night cycle, and weather cycles

puzzles, quests and storylines that aren't related to the main story

idle animations that change depending on sonic's situation. you leave him standing in the rain and he sneezes and starts complaining. you leave him in a flower field and he sits and admires the veiw

IF there's a fast travel option let the animations for it tell their own little stories

Idea for a digimon fanseason (copied from discord)

homeostasis realized "oh god, the digital world is in danger and there aren't any partner digimon available"

and decided to revive "evil digimon" from digital worlds past as partner digimon

the reincarnated digimon wouldn't have any memories of their time as huge, world-ending threats until they digivolve into the stage they kept from their old line

i go to great lengths to get these ones whenever possible, as well as toyagumon, impmon, demidevimon, birdramon, tentomon, and dokugumon. i also really like the design for noblepumpkinmon but i didn't play ReArise.

as for the rationale behind #1...tokomon scared the shit out of me the first time i saw it do the teeth thing in the anime and it's basically never left my mind; 11/10 design, fucking flawless
