Top 10 Best BLs on Gagaoolala

My Beautiful Man AKA Utsukushii Kare

Japan 2021

One of the most Japanese BLs to release in the last decade, as weird and as messed up as any 2000s yaoi: emo af and hella warped, entirely true to itself with no attempt made to modify its POV for modern sensibilities or current BL fandom. It used seriously old school problematic and kinky tropes, like whipping boy, for a truly uncompromising piece that also manages to hit up themes of communication, consent, and self acceptance. It’s a wonderful BL but uniquely dirty and harsh, in the best possible way - Japanese cinema, uncompromising.

I lost my ever loving mind over the ending. This show won the Grand Prix “My Best TV Award” at the 16th Galaxy Awards.

Minato's Laundromat AKA Minato Shouji Coin Laundry

Japan 2022

A classic age gap romance where a high school student pursues the man of his dreams (who runs a laundromat). This BL is so steeped in yaoi nostalgia, not to mention a classic romance arc, that it will overload some, but those of us who love this genre for its DNA will adore it. It made me very happy because it did everything I want a BL to do - there’s not much more I could ask of a show than this. It’s the closest Japan has come to perfect live action yaoi since Seven Days (and I never make that comparison lightly).

My Ride

Thai 2022

Thai BL grew up with this pulp (the first ever to make my end of year top 10). It’s a truly lovely and special little show featuring the extremely rare pairing of sunshine/sunshine (AKA a cinnamon roll couple) plus mature explorations of relationships using one of the softest, sweetest, and most innocent friends to lovers vehicles. Kindly, overworked doctor meets broken-hearted motorcycle taxi driver in an “other side of the tracks” slow burn romance. The support cast is excellent, making for great friendship groups and family dynamics. With honest queer rep that adds to, but doesn’t impede, the story, and genuine conversation about the nature of class, wealth, and classism, not to mention communication, honesty, and respect for boundaries, you can’t go wrong with this show. In other news, I am a sucker for a single dimple.

Takara & Amagi AKA Takara-kun to Amagi-kun

Japan 2022 I gnawed on my knuckles and squealed a lot with this BL. Reserved cool kid who must learn to communicate to keep the tiny disaster nugget he’s madly in love with. It is beyond charming: soft and gentle, packed with cuteness and high school angst, thirst, & yearning. Was there plot? Not really. Was it emotionally tense and paced well enough for me not to notice? Absolutely. Did I enjoy the hell out of it? Oh yes.

Kiseki: Dear to Me

Taiwan 2023

The plot is totally ridiculous and slightly unhinged, but that’s normal for Taiwan. It involves all the tropes under a very casual framework of gay mafia gangs + food = love. Absolutely every character is queer. There’s a gum-ball machine of cameos, elder gay rep, great chemistry from all pairs, and a KILLER side couple. As a result Kiseki is a poster child for Taiwanese BL, and I happen to love Taiwanese BL. Bonus? They also managed to END IT WELL, which we cannot expect from Taiwan.

My Personal Weatherman AKA Taikan Yoho

Japan 2023

This style of live action yaoi really only works from Japan. Basically: boys who fell in love in college end up living together but both are so repressed they actually don't realize they're in love. It's higher heat than we usually get from Japan's HEA stuff, and that part is also very well done, but it leaned into the "why don't they just talk for fuck's sake?" trope which is only exacerbated into undiluted frustration by the fact that they're already fucking. It's great, but watching requires more patience than usual, even for Japan.

Our Dining Table AKA Bokura no Shokutaku

Japan 2023

A lonely salaryman and talented cook gets accidentally adopted by a college kid and his little brother. I was always gonna love this show if they stuck to the manga (which is very dear to my heart). And they did, paralleling it almost exactly. It’s a quiet & cozy little parable of found family alleviating loneliness. Possibly too slow for some but definitely high up there for me as the best of what Japan can do with softness (like Restart After Come Back Home). It’s only flaw (if I dare say such a thing) is that it is not really “romantic.” Lovely & sweet but the romance beats are being used to build a family relationship, not just couple intimacy, but that's OK with me. This is a very safe show for anyone to watch.

Step By Step

Thai 2023

This was Thailand’s answer to The New Employee, and everything I loved about that show I loved about this one. This office romance between a stern boss and sweet subordinate felt more authentic to cubical work than previous Thai BLs of this ilk. That authenticity added tension to the narrative and its characters development (how novel). I also really enjoyed the charming side characters and the brothers' relationship to each other (although I could have done without that brother's side BL).

Long Time No See

Korea (Strongberry) 2017

Catfishing assassins on either side of a turf war who fall in love not knowing they are on opposite sides. Or do they? Suspenseful plot, good fight sequences, mature characters, hot sexitimes and even hotter beating the shit out of each other and kissing while covered in blog (this came from KOREA?), plus an HEA. One of the hidden gems of the BL genre.

About Youth

Taiwan 2022

A truly lovely little coming of age high school BL with a classic YA low drama but high angst and an earnest depth. I didn’t even mind the singing, and that’s saying a lot. A weak seme/uke dynamic but tons of BL tropes (both rare in a high school setting but common for Taiwan) makes this one feel both sweet and colored by real world authenticity and grit.

Some of these shows ALSO appeared on Viki or iQIYI, but these BLs will appear only once on these round up posts (here for Gaga), not on the other platforms top 10.

Do you have any recs for other non-DnD game systems? I've only ever played 5e, and I'm a little intimidated to get into other systems, but I also want to branch out and get away from WOTC's bullshit.

Blades In The Dark: i'm mentioning this first bc the rules are very easy to grasp and if you're looking for a setting that has a touch of ghosts and steampunk, this game is the perfect gateway to that! it's the best for a heist i have found and the game mechanics and names are so soo sick here's just a slice from their itch.io page:

personally i find the setting and the stress mechanic very cool, because it takes into account the mental toil that an action can have and i find games with inbuilt consequence mechanics very compelling! it introduced the concept of clocks to me and i am obsessed.

a) adjacent to Blades, are all Forged In The Dark Games which are third-party blades games, and the most notable of them is Scum and Villiany which is space-western setting and also my favorite and if you're looking to play a game in the breadth of star-wars like interplanetary politics and everything, i highly recommend this game! b) if you're looking for a Blades game with mechanics to suit something more royalty-adjacent, with court-politics and agendas and masquerade parties and all, like say d20's court of fey and flowers vibe then i recommend Court Of Blades! I havent gotten around to playing this yet but it looks really promising and i soo badly want to play a game in this setting!

2. The Ground Itself : this is a world-building game. focused on one single place over time and how it changes and how it's people change, the events of this game can be spaced out from a week to several millennia depending on the rolls of ur dice or your choices! i have found that this game serves very well as say, a session zero game also, for setting up a place before you play in it, and not only a very fun session of making a place together for your party to play in, but also not leaving all the work to the gm! so it's a win win situation!

tbh, all games by everest pipkin are very good! i wanna get my hands on world ending game as well bc it is a game about giving your campaign, your world-building and your characters the perfect send-off.

3. Wanderhome : if you're looking for something ghibli-esque (this is the closest i can come to defining this game thru popular media) then i highly recommend wanderhome! it's got a very cozy pastoral vibe to it and the art is really beautiful and you get to pick from a range of animal-folk to play as it's very cool!

also honorable mentions,

a) Sleepaway is a game by the same creator in which ur a camp counsellor to a bunch of misfits and horror stories around campfires ensue! b) Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast which is an upcoming game which you can still back and it looks really interesting so i'd recommend checking it out as well!

4. Lancer: this game has mechs it has space-battles and you get to be a pilot in a future set years in the future and a thousand directions to take ur campaign in! he relationship between pilot and mech is smth that can be so personal.....

i wanna play lancer sometime it has very cool mech designs and it has very much piqued my interest, if i find ppl who wanna play lancer w me im 🏃🏃!

5. Heart The City Beneath : honestly, one of my fave settings of all time, it has strong horror components so mind the cws! but the classes and the game mechanics are very intuitive and overall it helps you not only build a character that feels natural and organic, but since this is a horror setting, things do not have happy endings... however it will ensure that your characters have a well-built journey whose ends will be terrifying and magnificent.

I got introduced to the fallout mechanic through this game and oooo how i love it, it's the perfect blend of your actions have consequences + every consequence is interesting and will affect your character deeply and emotionally, which is <33

this list got too long so i will just mention some more here:

the quiet year (very good map-making game, for before the frost shepherds arrive in winter.)

beam saber (forged in the dark game that deserves its on mention! austin ramsey's games i highly recommend!)

thirsty sword lesbians (ecactly what it says on the tin, i wanna check this game out also)

lotr's one ring rpg (this one is the closest substitute to classic d&d bc lets be real. tolkien is where d&d got it's shit from. and i have heard good things abt this game even tho i've never had the chance to play it)

mothership rpg (space horror whose build mechanics are very easy and user-friendly and i've had a LOT of fun with this!)

orbital (one very beautifully written rpg about life in space and it's only 32 pages but well-worth the time, highly recommend)

that's all i can give off the top of my head, i might've missed a few but these are strong standouts, so i hope u find at least one to your liking!

i need (want) recommendations in a kinda specific way

i really like over the garden wall, coraline, jack stauber, the world of mr plant, all three tim burton stop-motion animated films, and heathers are there any other shows\movies similar to these that are definetly horror but also don't have *too many* jumpscares or gore, its more about tone or character designs? im also okay with gore if its just blood anything more than that and i will hate it.

It had been such a long time since you last appeared before the infinity castle, so many decades since a major change was announced by your lord Muzan. The strike of a biwa sounded closer with every step you took through each door that snapped open, seemingly endless, before you appeared before the woman that had orchestrated your appearance.

You had gone through many of these, seen the flows of who was stronger, been challenged by dozens of demons that eventually fell. Currently the only kanji in your eyes read uppermoon, but there was no number to be found.

But things had stilled for a bit over a century, things seemed to be going well, and the sudden change meant things were about to get stricter. You had seen how Lord Muzan worked, and it was just about time for him to snap.

It seemed you were the last to step in, as the moment the door snapped behind you, your attention was called to the tension across the space between the top three.

"The final uppermoon has arrived." Nakime called out, drawing the attention to you as you carefully glided down the stairs, moving past the shivering Hantengu, who only shuffled out of the way for you to continue past him so you could step onto the platform just beside the others'.

"Where is Lord Muzan?" You called the question into the air, though judging by the bloodied body of Gyokko strewn across the floor, you had missed him entirely.

"Lord Muzan has just left, he did not feel you needed to be reprimanded." Nakime finished before lowering her head, seemingly done informing you, which left you to turn to the others for any information.

"Miss l/n." Kokushibo bowed his head to you, though everyone else refrained from greeting you. There was no need for formalities now that everything was over.

You courtseyed to the upper rank, though with a quick surveillance of the room you felt there wasn't much left to be said, the room was empty of two individuals.

"I'm sorry your subordinates were killed, Douma." Your voice was teasing, and for seemingly the first time someone had attempted to speak to Douma out of interest and knowledge. Those who had seen you two more than once would know there was a thick atmosphere between the two of you, though what it was made up of was impossible to decipher.

A flame lit itself in the demon you'd addressed eyes', and he seemed much more cocky now that you were in the room.

"Oh, that? Well, I suppose not all of us are perfect. Isn't that right, Akaza?" The moment the words hissed through his teeth, Akaza tensed so visibly you'd almost been worried he would burst. In what felt like an instant, the demon hopped off into the maze of the infinity castle, and was strummed away by Nakime's chords.

You only cocked your head to the side, understanding that you must have missed another battle between the two. Akaza always was sore over his loss.

"I will be going now."

With just a step, Kokushibo dissipated as if in thin air, and the tension that was previously held in the space went along with it.

"Goodbye, Lord Kokushibo!"

The steady creaks of wood and metal shifting echoed in the space, though you could vaguely hear Hantengu's staggered breath, and the writhing of Gyokko as he attempted to regain control over his body. Douma and you sat silent, as if waiting for the other to break silence. He had been looking you over, noticing every change in your appearance since you had last met. You were stronger, as always, and it seemed your current post was as a nobel. It suited you.

"Was that all?" You turned back to Douma, only to find he had been staring straight at you. His eyes narrowed, looking down for but a moment at Gyokko's severed head.

"Ah yes, you just reminded me! Gyokko and Hantengu are going to investigate a clue. So, Gyokko-'' Immediately the pitter patter of small hands raced past you, a shrill voice screaming in the direction of Nakime.

"Please send Hantengu and myself to the same location!"

Hantengu wailed out, though was also cut off by two strikes of the biwa, both uppermoon four and five disappearing with them.

Then it was just the three of you, though Nakime kept a safe distance from any of the trouble. Douma seemed to have finally looked away, drawing out a long sigh. You could guess why; every kizuki hated him, Lord Muzan included… everyone except for you. Douma was always pestering and jabbing at the ego of others, though he had learnt to stay away from you long, long ago.

You had a certain way with discipline. A way not Kokushibo, hell, not even Lord Muzan could match in strength to what you'd done to him.

Douma clutched his pants, tilting his body to the left and feigning a smile. He had emotions, sure, but you knew the happiness was a facade to appease you, or perhaps trick you?

"Say, why don't we hang out after this! You can come to my place-"

"Or you could come to mine." Your head was facing opposite of him, ignoring any expression he attempted and staring down Nakime, who seemed to get the hint when her arm raised once more, striking it for the last time you'd likely hear in a while.

Your current place of stay was different, it changed every decade or so as you shifted from place to place, but this time it was a beautiful red temple, with tori gates leading out the door down a long set of stone stairs, where a village sat at the bottom of the hill.

You stared beyond the giant open gates, allowing Douma a peak before reaching forward and closing the heavy iron gate to the temple, sealing the two from the outside aside from the windows.

"Playing a new role already?" The uppermoon two teased, though he seemed a tad bit nervous, if not scared.

"Indeed. I took some inspiration from your little cult, and became the sacrifice of a local cult ruling over this poor, hopeless village." You paused to walk towards a large slab that went up to your waist made entirely of marble, it sat in between the door and the hearth that was in the middle of the large, open room.

Candles decorated the stairs leading up to the sacrificial podium, along with coins and various goods.

"According to the legend, a sacrifice must be chosen, and should they live a dozen decades the town will be ridden of its curse. Isn't that cute?" You sat on the altar, lifting your legs so they rested beside you, poking from your decorated gown.

"Curse?" Douma pushed curiously, circling the podium as if inspecting it, though you could feel his eyes burning against your skin.

That's when you laughed, a poison dripping in such an innocent sound, only telling of the malice you held deep inside of you.

"Yes, well, I took advantage of feasting off the people here since they were so isolated, but they convinced themselves their god had become upset and was killing them. Thus I am both the hand that kills them, and the sacrifice that will save them."

"You aren’t too dissimilar from them. You just don't know any better."

Between what you had shared of your new personality and your comparison, Douma bit his tongue, wondering what exactly you were hoping to get from him. Devotion? He'd give you every ounce of it if that was what you yearned for

In a moment, he felt hands- your hands, and hundreds of them- pushing him towards the altar, effectively forcing him to sit on the stairs, leaving his head in your lap.

Your demon blood art was very touchy, very controlling, and was oh so hard to expect when it was about to strike. Douma let out a sharp breath, but relaxed into the touch of your real hand meeting his cheek, caressing him.

"Staring me down in front of the other upper moons like a bitch in heat, was I not clear last time? Should I teach you further?" Your hand grabbed onto his face, harshly squishing his cheeks so his lips puckered and he looked at you, desperation building in his eyes.

You were so above him. A goddess, something worth worship, someone who made him feel something.

"Poor thing, you're no smarter than the humans below. You are just so lucky you have me here, aren't you?" A shiver ran down his spine as you let go, pressing your thumb against his lips to keep him quiet. His hands gripped so hard at the marble stairs that the stone crumbled in his grasp.

"Yes, Mistress."

Sharb's SAGE 2023 recommendation list

SAGE is over and I've taken a look through some really good games this week. Wanted to shout out some of the ones I thought were really cute in no particular order.

With over 200 games I can't play through and recomend all of them so please if you're interested in any of these I recomend going to https://sagexpo.org/games.html andlooking at some of the other games available.

These are just the games I've played, if you don't see your game here that's not a comment on the game's quality, just what I had time to check out.

I was immediately interested in B.U.D.D. for it's art and references to games like wonder boy, what really surprised me about it was the humor as it's actually funny in a cute way.

If you like wonder boy or classic sega adventure games I can't recommenced B.U.D.D. enough.

@cyanroxanne pitched this to me as a SHMUP for people that have trouble getting into SHMUP games, after playing the demo and taking a minute to figure out how the game works I actually had a lot of fun with it. I could definitely recommend this to people who wanna get started with the genre, really amazing art too feels like it's a treat just seeing what the next area looks like.

RPG games can be really hard to push on SAGE because of how many games there are to go through and how long they can take to complete, a lot of streamers tend to pass over them for the sake of time so they can cover more games.

So here's my RPG recomendation, Cubenen Gardens is a game being made by @thegamedawg who actually got me to play test his game months ago, the game's still in development but what I've got to mess with so far the game's strongest aspect is it's characters and world building as you help Micheal (the saddest sopping wet creature on the planet) navigate a mall trying to find a rare monster but gets wrapped in more and more conflict.

David gets keen is really short but it has a really strong gameflow to it, my only gripes with it is that the ability HUD could be given more clear graphics as your moves are represented by circles which can make it hard to figure out what they belong to without pressing their corresponding buttons.

Beyond that the grass stage is amazing, playing the level normally gives you a pretty average platformign game but when you start building up speed using your spin move on slopes you can get to insane speeds and just fly through the level skipping puzzles and enemies and clearing the level in seconds, it's really fun when you get the hang of it.

Meander land is a really small game by @whiskerfjords game's really fun to play casually, I thought the story and characters were really cute and I'm actually really excited to see what Whisker makes next.

Out-class Hunter from @7hrone returns again with a brand new level to check out, it's a return to Doom style third persons games, specifically SRB2, it's been fun following the development of this game and watching it improve each demo.

Lemme know if you can find the cool cactus, you'll know which one I'm talking about if you follow my games ;)

Prototype N is just a really really solid action platformer game from @arriettylunaris each level has a lot of thought put into it's design and the weapon combinations can be a lot of fun to mess with, I really can't recomend Prototype N enough.

I can't get over how much character personality this game oozes, feels like around every door I'm going to run into something new I like either being a character or a game mechanic that's just fun to mess with, each character brings their own moves and their levels take advantage of a lot of their movements.

I'd compare this to those old 90's Disney game adaptations but this game easily out does them in terms of design as the designs look like they were ripped right out of an old 1940's cartoon shorts.

Peak meme aside, I actually had a lot of fun playing this, Super Freaks is a fun lil platformer game with references to a tonne of other works, you probably saw this game referenced countless times this Sage but it is just really goofy fun, tho I would really recommend playing this with friends if you can, game feels like it was designed around the kind of multiplayer chaos, if you saw the stream I was part of you can see why.

Sorry to all my friends who have heard me talking about this game all week non stop and seeing me reverse engineer SMBX 2 to [redacted] but this was easily my favorite game this SAGE if not the most replay-able, I keep booting this up just to try and make it thought the level as quick as I can.

So if you're like me you've probably been seeing @punkitt-is-here s pony comics or more specifically, the Susan Tax payer comic and the charm, humor and personalities of all of them absolutely coats this game.

It requires a bit of set up, you have to download SMBX2.0 separately in order to play this and SMBX has it's own set of issues that kinda bleed over into some of the issues in the game that need to be ironed out but beyond that this is a really fun demo to play and I absolutely can't wait to see where this goes.

Techpack currently is one Namco inspired arcade game, Tech has put a tonne of time and research into how to nail the old arcade style. The only thing holding it back right now is that the only game available is really simple and short, but man I'd be kicking myself if I didn't mention the presentation on it alone is enough for me to recommend checking this out, really reminds me of the old Namco collection games on playstation.

Ok that's all the indies I could cover, some honerable mentions that I've been wanting to check out include

kid bubblegame JLFJ 2 Veggocalypse Mekanikko

As for the fangames I've played

Here's a game I wasn't expecting I'd be recommending, Mushroom Kingdom Fusion has been in development for over 15 years and always felt to me about quantity over quality but this new demo really impressed me.

The game is starting to take shape and there's actual structure to everything where as before it was just an open sand pit for them to figure out what to do with.

There's still a lot to be done but what's here is just a blast to mess around with. something really satisfying about struggling with a level, switching over to Samus and just blasting all the enemies and bosses away, tho I assume these characters will be unlocked in the final game as most of them are completely over powered.

This does bring me to one complaint though, Mario needs a buff. Mario is by far the hardest as he has few defense options and a lack of a health bar that almost everyone else have a huge advantage over him, and Mario having a health bar isn't too far removed from games like SMB2 and the modern 3D games.

But regardless I never thought I'd play this game and actually try to beat levels so I could see more, secret hunting is finally rewarding and expanding and finding more of the world is really fun. The game's length is absolutely HUGE, one world is about the size of an average Mario game which is insane.

And I'm really happy to see that loading has been optimized tho I don't know if that's because I'm running a machine that's not made 15 years ago.

@velacosmos has been working hard on creating a new Demo for SAGE and this one actually surprised me.

Taking influence from mario maker 2, Shang Mu Architect is a Freedom planet challenge level maker. which is quite impressive on it's own but has a tonne of extras.

Namely now there's actually a story mode to go along with the game, truth be told I'm not too big into freedom planet's cast to really know how well this game captures their personality but I still think it's really cool to actually have something that doubles as a proper freedom planet fangame since as far as I'm aware we're yet to see an actual game that actually follows the original games style.

Your mileage is definitely going to depend on how much you enjoyed the original freedom planet but I definitely think this is worth checking out.

Of the top of my head way back when stealth was pitching a mobile port of sonic 3, I swear I remember one of the ideas was expanding the match stages into full fledged level.

Sonic 3 Chronicles is an interesting "what if" scenerio where after angel island instead of falling into Hydrocity Sonic and co continue past the cutscene area and into the endless mine from match making.

I never really thought of those match stages as being connected to the main stages but this does a rpetty decent job of introducing new gimmicks and mechanics to go along with those stages.

The game is definitely rough around the edges and needs a lot of tightening up but what's here is a cute game that does it's best to follow sonic 3.

Gatoslip is a hack of Sonic the hedgehog created by @vadapega a very small demo with a tonne of personality put into it.

Yes, this is a hack, you're going to need an emulator in order to play it. Now which emulator do I recommend?

Probably the steam workshop if you still have your copy of sonic 1 before SEGA took it off the store page.

Vada's always been an inspiration for my art and it's great to see him finally go for something that really expresses his personality. The writing's great, the battles are really cute and I love the strategies for defeating enemies. Game's filled to the brim with visual gags with one gag in particular giving a lot of "replay value" (you'll know what I mean when you beat it)

Hummmm that's a good question. My advice would be 2 things:

1. Go onto any old anime free streaming platform with filters, and go by most popular from the time. This can be done with manga too, but is harder for VNs. I would maybe recommend VNDB, but it's a shot in the dark if any of the VNs that catch his eye are translated or available to download, much less for free.

2. When seeing things that speak as feeling representative of the era, look it up.

I can't say much because I don't know exactly what they're looking for.... there is a lot of Japanese art that defined that period! Without knowing their specific intrests, I cant say.

I would say, my best advice of all is that he should look with a clear mind, and enjoy the art that coincidentally falls into that time range

Of course, I will always say TNC is a great VN for "the era", it really speaks it. Flashy vkei adjacent clothing, dramatic CGs, it's very "nightcore youtube cover." I even jokingly call Shiki my "nightcore angel." This had a steam release, so feel free to DM me if you don't know where steam rips can be located

I don't read much het or GL vns... so I can't really say outside BL, yet. But I'm planning to, I just am so lazy I don't read as much as I should...

Corpse Party as a franchise is also very 2000s. It's a RPG with VN elements. It's grotesque and an eroguro in denial but I remember back when eveeeerrryyy youtuber was playing it haha. There's quite a few versions and games, but I added my favorite 2 styles. I would say Blood Covered on the PSP was the best version, if I remember correct.

hey holly! do you have some 3d platformer recomendations?

"Super Mario 3D World" and "Super Mario Odyssey" are two different flavours of extremely good 3d Mariosgame.

"Sephonie" mixes really cool parkour with gorgeous environment design & some fun puzzles, from the bits I've seen and played.

"Outer Wilds" is arguably a 3D platformer. More heavily focused on exploration, but there's some extremely fun movement tech you get to play with. This is the kind of game you should go into knowing as little as possible. It is one of my favourite video games ever made, and I do not say that lightly.

If you want to hit up the Puzzle Platformer end of things, the "Portal" series is a classic. I'd recommend both!

Haven't really played it myself, but I've heard pretty much universal praise for "A Hat in Time". The bits I've seen kind of remind me of "Super Mario Sunshine", moreso mechanically than thematically / visually. Idk how off the mark I am with this assessment though.

"Here Comes Niko!" is a good time if you're looking for something more laid-back and relaxed. Very cute. Another good cute-type 3D platformer is "Kirby and the Forgotten Land".

"Clustertruck" is about jumping across moving trucks and it's fucking awesome.

If you want to play something uniquely weird and bad from the era of the genre's nascence, check out "Bubsy 3D". It's not a good time. But it's an interesting case of What Not To Do, and maybe you'll get a kick out of how much it sucks.

I don't know if I'd call "NiGHTS into Dreams..." a 3D platformer, and I don't know if I'd recommend it as such? But it sure is an interesting thing, and I think it's real cool that it exists.

"Elden Ring" is a 3D platformer if you play it right.

"Frogun" isn't released yet, but I adored the demo I played of it. One to look out for.

"Crumble" is a real fun indie gem. You're a squishy ball and you can use your tongue as a grappling hook to get around the world as it crumbles around you. Extremely fun momentum-based movement tech.

"Psychonauts" and "Psychonauts 2" are maybe my favourite collect-a-thon platformers. Real solid mechanical foundation, incredibly inspired level design & aesthetics, fun & touching story that touches on topics of mental health in generally really considerate ways.

"A Short Hike" is a bite-sized game that feels like it belonged on the DS, and I mean that as a compliment. Fun gliding and climbing mechanics.

I wish people who write anti ship posts won't put it in the main tag.

Please have some decency and manners.

Tags are created for filtering content and curating your online experience.

Putting anti ship post in the ship tag ( and not sensoring it in the post itself) is a disrespect to your fellow social platform users.

It creates an unnecessary drama in the fandom and in fact is a biting. Because it would rouse a direct response from someone who is emotional about a topic. And many people are because well, it's a fandom, we are here because we are emotional about it.

Putting anti posts in a main ship tag is a very childish behavior.

I would know. Because I used to be like that 5 years ago and I'm embarrassed of that. I outgrew it since then.

Still hate the ship. Still hate the character. But I don't post my hate or dislike in the main tags anymore.

Because I'm an adult and I do understand that we are all responsibile for curating our own online experience but if people do not agree to use instruments intended for it correctly it nullifies all the effort we put in it.

When you mistag your post it ruins recomendation algorithms. And posts and blogs get reccomended to people even if they blocked the tag.

The block function is not good enough as it is. Please don't make it work even worse than it does now.

Can we please respect each other and have some fandom culture on this site.

Actually do you have any recomendations for a RSS reader on mobile, preferably browser-based? All the ones I found are horrible

Personally I'm using Reeder, but that's an app that is only on Apple platforms. For browser-based ones, I think Feedly is the most popular one, and it's what I use for syncing between different devices. But the company is a bit sketchy, so I am also low-key looking for alternatives.

I have been experimenting with FreshRSS, which is something you run on your own web server if you have one (requires PHP and some SQL database). I think that's a great option in theory, but too complicated for most people in practice (personally, I still haven't managed to get it working with Reeder, even though it's supposed to work).

So to all my followers: What would you recommend?
