The premium version of human is here to wreak house, mfs.
Twst x Obey me!AFAB!reader
(Reader is Ob's MC)
CW:
•NO APPEARANCE SPECIFIED FOR READER.
•Poly.
•Cursing.
•Reader is referred to as "you" or they/them and even "he/him" because NRC boys refer to any living humanoid in the school as a male by default.
•Crowley.
•It's my first time writing a fanfiction, pls tell me if I should continue writing this.
(Random pic go brr—)
Tumblr media
What will happen when a perpetually hungry-for-cuddles and tired-of-this-shit hooman gets kidnapped by a motherfucking horse and decides (kinda? Yeah nope. This wasn't by choice.) to enroll in a school full of problematic kids and their irresponsible af headmage?
Chaos. Pure and utter chaos with a lot of high-end simping in the mix (Along with the slightly unhinged urge to commit arson and burn a bitch to crisp)
So read as [y/n] tries to run away from the school-life while trying to just get back to their goddamn harem family (God saw this thought and decided that giving y/n more harem members is the appropriate course of action), all while juggling the harsh responsibilities of being a guardian, babysitter, therapist, healer, protector, local crush and celebrity for poor Yuu and the entirety of NRC.
("Pls send help" — y/n)
• • • • •
Disclaimer: You may have been kidnapped to a whole 'nother world and you may be on the verge of a mental breakdown, but you're sure as hell gonna look hot and serve cunt while you go through all your problems.

Prologue: 1
IMPORTANT: Mc will be referred to as they/them in this story, but in these beginning chapters a lot of people will refer to mc as a dude because y'know; NRC is an ALL BOYS school and nrc students came to expect that those in the school are all boys.(this'll change dw)
In order to avoid confusion, every time that the MC is addressed by others as he/him or more; I will color it blue. why blue? I find it easier to read.
Sample; 'He turned to them.'
The "He" in this passage is referring to MC because the character referring to them thinks that they're a guy.
REMINDER: This is Fanfiction! Not everything will be the same as canon because of this thing called the 'butterfly effect'.

The Dorm Leaders + lilia were just about to call this Opening Ceremony over.
So close to getting out of this hall and finally being able to go on their merry ways to escort the new students back to their respective dorms before the hectic-ness of preparing for hours starts to catch up to them.
Though, things are never quite that easy in NRC.
A commotion with the students quite far from them leaves the majority of them annoyed/disgruntled. (Kalim is just confused and curious)
The headmaster rushes to check what was wrong only for a student to point out that there is an unopened coffin floating in a shadowy part of the hall.
Armed with the desire to get this shit over with and to avoid embarrassment from missing a coffin when he was going around opening them and also, with Yuu waiting near the mirror, the headmaster opens the coffin to wake the new student inside.
The dorm leaders walked closer to be able to quickly usher the new student to the dark mirror only to notice that the headmaster froze up.
"...Headmaster? Are you alright?" Azul "Boutta-do-sumthin-devious" Ashengrotto asked with faux concern.
"Ah– Ah yes! I'm alright Mr. Ashengrotto."
Crowley the bitch cleared his throat and reached inside the coffin to wake the student up.
"Hmm..."
The dorm leaders subconsciously or not, peaked inside the coffin before getting gobsmacked by the sleeping student.
Sure, the student looked quite cute ("New potential apple locked in" — Vil.) even with half of his face obstructed but what really drew their attention were the jewelries that he was wearing.
Three luxurious looking earrings on each of his ears, all unique from each other, all with a respective color and design except for that one earring with two gemstones engraved in it, orange and indigo. Seven gems, six earrings
An ornament on his forehead that looks to be a combination of a circlet and a Ferronnière made from gold, with intricate black bat-like wings surrounding the red gemstone in the middle.
And that's just the jewelry on his head.
There's also the sleek black choker with a golden sheen on his neck with a teal gemstone surrounded by small diamonds hanging in the middle.
They don't know if this guy has anymore but the jewels they can see for now is more than enough for them to make the deduction that this student has some alot of money on his hands.
No wonder the Headmaster froze up.
Azul subconsciously starts fixing up his appearance when he starts to wake up, wanting to make a good impression on a potential, rich victim client.

"Mmh... What the hell.. Why is the bed so hard.."
You mumbled as you stirred, feeling someone lightly shaking you awake.
You opened your eyes, expecting maybe the brothers, solomon, dia, barbs, simeon or luke but you were instead met with a face obscured by a dark bird mask.
"..."
"..."
"You have two seconds to unhand me before you lose your hands." or your life. Depends on who I can summon first.
You made your voice as cold and unwelcoming as possible as the man with the bird mask squawked and backed away a bit in shock.
"H– How rude..! I'll have you know that I was only–"
"Where am I?"
You cut off the weird looking bird-man as you scanned your surroundings and moved to come out of the coffin why were you in a coffin? you were in, in fear of it closing and locking you inside.
You glance warily to the bird-man while keeping an eye on the huge number of robed individuals that you can see. are you in a cult? Damnit, did one of the Brothers' crazy cults decide to kidnap you out of jealousy again??
Especially the seven (reminder that lilia is there with the Housewardens) closest to you and bird-dude.
Some solomon-kinnie motherfucker is currently eyeing you down like he's about to sell your kidneys to the black market or something.. Hmm... Your fight or flight instincts are telling you to sell HIS kidneys instead.
*Ehem*
Burd-dude cleared his throat and addresses you.
"It seems that the teleportation magic has left you disoriented... No matter, I can forgive your offense of trying to threaten me for I am gracious!"
He then looked weirdly like a combination of preening peacock and a proud chicken.
"I repeat. Where in the unholy trinity of the three realms, am I?"
Now that raised a few eyebrows.
You feel for the necklace under your clothes that Thirteen gave you, filing the question of why you're also wearing the same robe as these people away, in your head.
While the guy that you now dub-thee as "bird-bitch" started gawking at you and going on a tangent of being disrespectful, you scan the big hall/room you're in looking for ways to escape.
• • • •
Hmm... This new student seems to be a knowledgeable individual.
Lilia kept his gaze on the student, studying how he took on a defensive stance the moment he got out of the coffin.
They need to calm this student quickly before something happens.
The student seems to be confused on why he's here and is looking for a way to get out.
If the way his eyes moved around the room in quick succession is any indicator.
Not the first time that something like this happens but add in the magicless student's appearance, he gets the feeling that something strange will happen once again.
Seeing him take out and grasp the palm-sized gemstone of a whole 'nother necklace hidden under his robe how many trinkets does this boy have??, Lilia got ready to jump in the fray should something happen.
There's a possibility that the student can use that necklace as a weapon if that was what he chose to hold in this situation and not his other shiny ornaments.
Lilia was proven right when the necklace and the gemstone glowed and formed into a fancy-looking staff that the student quickly pointed towards Crowley.
He looked at the dorm leaders around him to see if any of them will do something.
...
yeah no. If anything, they look like they're watching an amusing show. Especially Schoenheit and Kingscholar..
Though it seems more like Riddle is still assessing the situation before he brings out his infamous collar.
Haahh.. Youngsters these days..

"Oh my god, it's so cold!" Chaeryong squeals and squeezes your arm as the two of you find a good spot in front of the tree near the main entrance into campus. Tonight was the campus tree lighting, so tons of students and residents in the surrounding neighborhood came to get into the holiday spirit. "Okay, this is perfect! Come!" She gestures for Soobin and Seungmin to hurry.
"Who else is coming?" Soobin asks, sipping on the coffee he's been babysitting for an hour now.
"Hyunjin, Yeonjun, Minnie, Jongho—" Chaeryong puckers her lips to the side. "Everyone, basically." She chuckles.
"Is Yunho coming?" Your eyes quickly dart to Seungmin as he bites on his bottom lip to prevent himself from smirking. But, it's too fucking late cause now, the asshole has you blushing just by mentioning his name. You knew Yunho was coming, but you couldn't help but be nervous every minute you hadn't seen him.
"Hm, I think your answer is right there." Chaery subtly points to a wild Yunho standing in the crowd, speaking to Mingi before his eyes start to scan the place. His eyes meet yours and a soft smile grows on the corners of his lips. He bids farewell to his friend before walking over, your smile slowly growing as he gets closer. "Wow, he looks really good." Chaery says in your ear and giggles.
"Yeah, he does." You eye him in his black coat, white longsleeve, black jeans, black boots and a black and white scarf messily sitting around his neck. "Hey." You smile at him once he's finally in front of you. "You made it!"
"Mhm. And I bring hot cocoa." He hands over one of the cups in his hand and you scrunch your nose.
"Thank you."
"Of course." He looks at Chaery, Seungmin and Soobin. "Hey, sorry. If I had more hands, I would've brought more."
"Nonsense, Yuyu. I appreciate the thought!" He chuckles when she calls him that nickname he can't really stand, but he excuses it for Chaery anyway. "I'll make these guys useful." She turns to Soobin and Seungmin. "Come with me to get some hot cocoa please."
"I forgot my wallet." Seungmin lies, though he's only teasing and he'll buy her hot chocolate if she really wants him to.
"You liar, you have your card right there." Chaery points at his card on the back of his phone. "After all the things I've done for you.." She continues to go on as she drags Seungmin to the hot chocolate booth, leaving you, Soobin and Yunho in your spots.
"You know that place in town just opened, right?" Soobin sips on his drink.
"The christmas village with the ice skating rink?" He nods.
"Yup. We should go afterwards. The later we wait, the busier it might get." He looks at Yunho. "Yunho, you should come along with us!" Yunho gives him a smile and nods.
"Sure, I'm down." Sooner or later, the rest of your friends arrive, saying their hello's to both you and Yunho before squishing into the tight spot near the tree. But, because of the tight space, you find yourself now in front of Yunho while he stands closely behind you— chest barely ghosting your back. "You okay?"
"Mhm." You slightly turn over your shoulder to look at him and give him a reassuring nod. A few people are rushing over to the front, causing you to stumble to the side when they force their way through you and your group.
"Can you guys relax? Damn." Jongho says out loud, rolling his eyes. "It's a tree lighting, not a fucking mosh pit." Yeonjun laughs loudly, trying to calm him down.
"Jeez." Yunho puts his hand out to protect you from the rest squeezing their way through. "Come here, stay close to me." You feel his arm wrap around your waist, gently ushering you to the side and out of harm's way.
"Thank you." You lean into his touch, hoping he doesn't release the hold he has on you right now. Even though the both of you have gotten rather cozy over time, you still find yourself shy around Yunho because you like him.
A lot.
And you didn't want to rush anything, especially since you and Yunho haven't necessarily moved into a more 'serious' territory. Not that lots of time has passed, but part of you was starting to feel a bit scared and conflicted— wondering why Yunho hasn't taken you out on a date yet, or why things haven’t progressed much in general.
Little do you know that he's already been planning this for awhile, hoping to ask you on an official date tonight.
Yunho smiles to himself because he can already pick up on the little things you do, the little ways you ask for affection. He tightens his hold around you, giving you a small kiss on the back of your head before playfully resting his chin on top.
"Are you warm?"
"Kinda?" Yunho squints with a small smirk in his face.
"Lying to me?"
"Never." You pout and he laughs, handing you his cup.
"Please hold." You take his cup and watch him remove his scarf. He wraps it around your neck, enough that it engulfs you and instantly provides the heat you were looking for. His scarf smells exactly like him— hints of detergent with vanilla and musk. "Better?"
"Yes." He smiles at you in pure adoration before grabbing his cup and stepping back, resuming his hold on you from behind. "Yunho?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you actually wanna go later?"
"Yeah, why not? It'll be fun."
"I'm just making sure." He chuckles.
"Don't worry about me." He kisses you on the temple just as Chaery and Seungmin find you two in the crowd.
"Lovebirds! What happened? Why is Jongho making that face?" Chaery furrows her brows at the group before sipping on her cocoa.
"Some people were rushing to the front." Chaery subtly eyes at the way Yunho is holding your waist, your fingers loosely laced with his.
"Aw, and Yuyu kept you safe!" You flash her a look as she stands nearby with Seungmin, Yunho giggling to himself.
"Hey." Suddenly, Yeosang pops up next to Seungmin and Chaery, his hands dug deep into his racer jacket.
"Was not expecting you to be here." Yunho laughs a bit, grabbing your cup to throw it away in the nearby trash can with his.
"I was already on campus so I figured I'd come." He looks at you and your friends, giving you all a small smile. "You guys look cozy."
"Trying to be." Chaery snuggles into her own scarf, while Seungmin dips into the neck of his jacket. "Nice to see you out though, Kang Yeosang! You should stay with us." She gently tugs on his jacket to bring him closer to the group.
"Can you let him decide on his own, please?" Seungmin  looks at her, softly grabbing at her elbow to stop her from tugging on Yeosang's jacket.
"What! His roomie is here too. He's not entirely alone." Yeosang laughs and stands next to you and Yunho, also eyeing the way Yunho now has his arms around you to keep you close.
"Cute." Yeosang says, clearing his throat shortly afterwards. "What time did you get here?"
"Not too long ago." Yunho looks at his roommate. "I had to go home and change really quickly."
"Change, hm?"
"Too cold." Yunho shivers a bit, holding you close to him as you continue to talk to your friends.
"Yeah, he would!" Yunho and Yeosang overhear you say before you swing back to look at them. "Yeosang, you'd go with us to Santa's Wonderland, right?" Yeosang points at himself and you nod.
"I mean, I wouldn't just go there myself—"
"Then come along with us! We're going right after the lighting ceremony." You smile. "It'll be fun! Yunho is going, too!" Yunho turns to him and nods in agreement.
"You should, it'll be cool. Holiday season only comes once a year." Yunho shrugs.
"Uh, sure? I'll come. But, what is Santa's Wonderland?"
"It's super nice. They have a long light maze that's just made up of a ton of Christmas lights hanging everywhere. Then, there's the ice skating trail, plus there is a part called The Village where you can buy food or drinks." Soobin pauses. "Plus, you can listen to people sing or wait for their turn to talk to Santa. It gets you in the spirit." Soobin finishes his statement before you let out a small giggle.
"Sounds dope. I'll go." You release the breath you've been holding while waiting for Yeosang's response. You're glad he agreed to go, especially being that Yunho is the only person he knows well. You want to get to know Yeosang better, especially since you find yourself spending more and more time at the apartment. You want to be respectful of his space, too.
Just as everyone continues to talk about Santa's Wonderland, the university's president comes near the tree with a mic in hand— beginning the ceremony with his opening remarks. Shortly afterwards, a choir sings a few christmas carols before the president comes back to countdown the tree lighting. Yunho continues to hold you close, your hands resting on his arms as you both subtly sway to the christmas songs now playing on the speakers. The tree is lit beautifully in front of you, beautiful white and gold ornaments lining the branches. Yunho peers over, smiling to himself when he sees the light in your eyes, the glow bouncing off of your skin.
"It's so pretty." You mumble.
"You are." He says against your temple before planting another soft kiss there. You smile to yourself as your attention now shifts to the crowd, your friends happily swaying along to the music. Then, your eyes land on a familiar face across from you— your smile fading when they meet yours.
"Okay, please don't ruin our nice evening because of them." San taps Seonghwa on the chest when he realizes his bestfriend is still fixed on you and Yunho.
"Why can't you just let them be, Hwa? What's the purpose—" Mingi says through his teeth.
"Why, cause that's your friend?" Seonghwa looks at Mingi. "Why don't you go over there then?" Mingi sucks on his teeth.
"I'm just saying, don't you get tired? Let the girl be happy if she's happy."
"It's a phase."
"I don't think so." San mumbles under his breath, tired of seeing Seonghwa act this way when he should've gotten his shit together earlier. But he stays quiet; what can he do at this point? It's not like Seonghwa listens to any of them.
"Hwa." Hyeri pops out of the blue, her hand snaking around his arm.
"Hey."
"I was looking for you, you didn't answer my text so I wasn't sure if you were still coming." San and Mingi shoot each other a look when she comfortably stands next to him and holds onto his arm— you, now suddenly an afterthought with Hyeri around.
But, to each their own.
You truly hope Hwa moves on because you're happy.
"Should we get going? There's a couple of us that have cars."
"I drove so I can take a few people too." Yeosang says with his hands dug into his pockets.
"Same." Yunho adds.
"The lovebirds should be alone in the car." Seungmin says, laughing when Chaery pinches his arm. "It's the only privacy they'll get right now!"
"Alright, alright." Hyunjin finishes helping sort people into different cars. "Let's go!"
And so with that, the group splits between a few cars, including Yeosang's. As Seungmin promises, you are riding solo in Yunho's car; the heat blasting as soon as he drives off and follows Soobin's car.
The drive is about 15 minutes back north, nestled right by an outdoor shopping plaza. Your group circles the lot a few times before you all find parking in different areas, only meeting up at the entrance once you're all out of the cars. You happily hold Yunho's hand heading into Santa's Wonderland, the christmas lights hung everywhere shining nicely against the night sky. Yunho playfully twirls you around as you walk under the lit tunnel, gently nudging you to the center so he can take a few pictures of you. After he takes your pictures, the girls grab you and rush over to  another portion of the maze, making the guys snap more pictures before it switches off.
"Pretty girl, look. Mind if I take you there?" Yunho comes from behind you and says softly in your ear. He points up at the mistletoe hanging above one of the archways you're approaching.
"Not at all." You smile, feeling the heat rise to your cheeks when he leads you right underneath— cupping your cheeks to place a soft, feathery kiss against your lips.
"I wanted to ask you something." Yunho caresses the surface of your cheek with his thumb.
"Hm?" You hum, head tilted to the side as you wait patiently for his next response.
"I.. was wondering if I could take you out, o-on a date? I know it's been some time, but I've been trying to plan the perfect date and all. I-I was hoping I could take you back home so we could do a few things there before seeing my mom and aunt." You blush and nod.
"I'd like that, Yunho."
"Nice." He says, making you laugh at how shy he's getting. At this moment, he feels everything inside ignite. He feels unstoppable, he feels like he's on top of the world;
Jeong Yunho is in love with you.
So, so genuinely in love with you.
"God, they're so cute." Chaery squeals as the group continues on, leaving you two to follow behind.
"It's nice to see Y/N genuinely happy. She really deserves it." Soobin digs into his hot fudge sundae.
"Yunho, too." Yeosang chimes in, drinking a white mocha. "He's been happier since they started.. I don't know what this is? Dating, I guess? They're like, official but not?"
"Huh, I guess you're right." Jongho adds. "Have they gone on a date yet?"
"Not that I know of."
"I think he's been planning it. He's asked for my opinion on a few random things, can't help but feel like they're part of his plan." Yeosang responds. "He's a really good guy. Whatever it is, I'm sure Y/N will really like it."
"I agree." Chaery giggles.
After taking more pictures and enjoying the rest of the light maze, the group finds their way to the ice skating trail. Everyone takes their time getting through the trail, your friends spread out at all different points. Yunho is surprisingly good at ice skating. You're not necessarily terrible, but you're not great either. You would rather take your time than try and breeze through the entire thing, just out of comfortability. He patiently holds your hand through the entire path, laughing loudly from time to time at the few instances you almost fall over.
Lastly, the group finally heads towards the village area to find snacks to munch on. There are a few local small businesses selling souvenirs and christmas gifts that you buy from along the way before finding yourself in front of a churro stand with Yunho. You and your friends take your snacks over to the live music, singing along and enjoying the music to wrap the night up.
It was a good time, and you loved that Yunho and Yeosang got along well with your friends. You wouldn't have imagined a better time with everyone, and you're really glad Soobin brought up the spontaneous idea.
Just an hour before closing, the crew heads home— with you, Yeosang and Yunho making your way back to their apartment, Chaery almost playfully dragging you back until Yunho promises her that he'll walk you back home the following morning and won't interrupt your time with her for the upcoming week. She giggles and waves you off, dragging Soobin and Seungmin back to your place.
Yeosang swings the door open to the apartment, and you immediately kick your shoes off to the side. The apartment is warm, causing you to shake off the remaining cold from your bones.
"What are you about to do? Hop on?" Yunho asks, making Yeo laugh.
"For a bit. I'm kinda lazy, ice skating took everything out of me." You giggle and nod in agreement.
"Yeah, I agree."
"Today was cool, though. Thanks for inviting me." Yeosang smiles at you and Yunho before slowly making his way to his room. You unwrap Yunho's scarf from around your neck and fold it neatly. Yunho grabs two water bottles before nodding towards his room, heading in first as you follow behind.
"Tired?" Yunho asks as he tosses his keys and wallet onto his dresser.
"Extremely." You look at him. "Is it okay if I grab a shirt and wash up?"
"Go for it." You quietly grab a longsleeve shirt from his pile, waddling into the bathroom to get ready for bed. Once you've deemed the hallway clear of Yeosang, you spring back into Yunho's room in his shirt; him eyeing your cute ass in his clothes.
He honestly will never get enough.
"Comfortable?" You plop onto his bed and start catching up to texts and your social media feed.
"Mhm."
"Did I ever mention how cute you look in my clothes?" Yunho scratches at his temple as he approaches his closet to grab his pajamas to change into.
"No." You giggle, making him turn to face you— leaning onto the edge of the bed to give you a quick kiss on the lips.
"You look really cute in my clothes." He smiles against your lips before pulling back and heading to the bathroom. After a good couple of minutes, Yunho is back in the room and settles on his game chair. He pops his computer on, saying he'll probably play for a bit and that you're welcome to use his laptop for anything.
But, an hour quickly passes and Yunho is still immersed in his game. Which, you find endearing and cute. You love seeing him comfortable around you, just as you are with him. But after today and how sweet he was being, you just want Yunho. You want him to yourself, now, to be in his hold and to kiss him until you both get worn out.
You want him.
You find yourself straddling his lap again, your clothed core already feeling incredibly needy when you feel the bulge beneath you.
"What happened to being extremely tired?" Yunho teases as his eyes roam up your body. His hands are at your sides and underneath the shirt, radiating warmth against your skin.
"What happened to playing for a bit?" You tease back, hands at the nape of his neck.
"Sorry, princess." The petname sends shivers down your spine. "I was gonna wrap it up soon."
"Were you?" You giggle.
"I was. But, I can just do that later. What can I do for you right now?" He smirks, finger tracing a soft circle against your side; soft eyes now glued onto yours.
"I just want your company."
"Mm." He hums. "You have my company."
"Nah uh." You pout. "You're over here smashing the fuck out of your keyboard."
"Was not." He laughs. "Tell me." He says close to a whisper, lips only inches away from yours. "What do you really want?"
"A kiss."
"Just a kiss?" You shake your head just as his lips ghost yours.
"More than just a kiss."
"I think I can help with that." He responds. It's not long before he's locking his lips with yours, the first initial kiss being deep, long; connected until the both of you pull back for a breath. But, Yunho continues to take initiative— dipping in for another, more heated kiss. Your hand gently tugs on his hair, the kiss intensifying by the minute. Yunho slips his tongue in, his grip becoming tighter on your hips when he feels you shift in your position. He feels you subtly roll against him and it instantly drives him insane, sending the blood straight to his dick.
"Need you, Yunho."
"Hold onto me." He quickly says in between kisses. Suddenly, he swoops you up in one motion, careful not to break the kiss as he sits on the edge of the bed— giving you more space to rock against him and keep him close. The kiss is becoming sloppier, while you're no longer able to control yourself as you grind against Yunho's bulge. He lets out a small groan, his large hands coming to cup your ass to egg you to move more. "Was this what you wanted all along?" He asks as you nibble at his jaw before leaving a trail of kisses down his neck, sucking at the surface near the base.
"Yes." You breathe out, clit feeling the friction against the fabric of your panties, his clothed cock. You want Yunho so bad, you don't even realize how much you're rolling your hips against him, pace steady but enough to drive the both of you crazy.
"Fuck, feels too good." Yunho breathily says against your lips before gently biting onto your bottom lip and pulling back. "Baby—" He lets out another breath. "When that time comes—" He says against your neck before gently sucking on the surface; slowly, delicately, pausing in between his moves. "I'll make sure to make you feel good." He kisses your neck again. "I'll show you how much I adore you." Again. "Appreciate you." And again. "Want you to feel how special you are."
"Yunho—" His name comes out in a whimper, still grinding against him as you chase your high. Your lips fall back onto his for another sloppy, wet kiss; tongues fighting for dominance while Yunho tightens the grip on your hips. "Oh fuck—" You whine.
"Close, hm?" He gently grabs your chin, lips back against your ear before he nibbles onto your earlobe. "Wanna let go for me, pretty girl?" His voice is husky, fingers digging deep into your side. The petname he murmurs while he sits underneath you is enough to tip you over the edge, face contorting in pleasure when you feel your release completely take over. And Yunho is glad, because one, he can see how pretty you look when you reach your peak— trying your hardest to keep some control over your body as you ride out your high.
And two, Yunho felt like he was gonna fucking pop any second. Watching you tips him over the edge, allowing him to release all of the pent-up pleasure he had been harboring.
Yunho calls for your name before letting out another soft moan, his body slightly twitching against yours when he reaches his climax. You don't really stop moving until Yunho has finished, head shyly coming up from his neck to meet his eyes. Yunho thinks you're the most beautiful thing he's laid his eyes on, especially now with the post-pleasure glow. He can't wait to see what you look like when he finally gets to feel you, all of you, completely.
"You okay?" Yunho chuckles as he brushes the hair away from your face and gives you a tiny peck on the lips.
"Mhm." You shyly respond and he can't help but laugh a little more.
"So cute." He smiles at you before kissing your forehead. "I gotta go to the bathroom again." He taps your hips. "Kinda made a mess." You giggle and hop off his lap, plopping under the covers while he grabs a new set of boxers and sweats. You hear him quickly turn the shower on before he's out in the next 10 minutes, smelling fresh of his body wash. He tosses his clothes off into the hamper, shutting off his computer before slipping into the bed next to you.
"Do you still wanna watch that movie?" Yunho snorts.
"I'm okay. But, are you? You'll fall asleep."
"I can stay up!" You pout as you look up at him from his chest.
"Okay, cutiepie. If you say so." He pulls up his laptop to bring up Netflix.
"Yunho, what if your mom and aunt don't like me?"
"What?" He looks at you. "They will. I know they will. How could they not?"
"I don't know, I'm just nervous to meet them. I want to make a good impression, of course. I want them to like me and have no worries about me, or.. us?" Yunho gives you a tiny smile.
"They won't. I promise, okay? They'll love you." He navigates the movie. "Besides, they already know about you and have probably looked you up on Facebook." You shoot up from your position and look at him with a brow cocked up.
"What do you mean they looked me up on Facebook— you gave them my Facebook?!"
"No!" Yunho smiles. "More like.. I told my mom your name and she took the initiative to look you up. I'm sure she showed it to my aunt by now."
"Yunho." You whine. "My picture on there is so old!"
"So?! I'm sure you still look beautiful as ever." He grabs your hand and pulls you back down. "Y/N, don't worry about it. I swear they'll love you, okay? Old Facebook photo or not."
"Okay, okay." He kisses your forehead.
"Okay." He repeats after you.
"Where are you taking me for our date?"
"Um, don't worry about that either." Yunho laughs. "Don't try and be slick. You won't get it out of me." You pout again and he shakes his head. "Nope. Here, the movie is playing."
"Fine." You snuggle against him, eyes glued onto the screen as the movie starts.
Sooner or later, Yunho doesn't hear you reacting anymore, and it's obvious that you indeed fell asleep. He tilts his to get his confirmation, seeing your eyes shut and your breathing at a resting rate. He chuckles to himself before gently shutting off his laptop and setting it aside, adjusting his position to engulf you in his arms.
"The movie." You sleepily mumble.
"Too tired. Let's sleep. Goodnight, babygirl." You don't respond. Yunho smiles and kisses your head before shutting his eyes— going to bed the happiest he's been in awhile.

pairing chan x reader
genre ninth member au, angst, fluff, coming of age, social media, cancel culture, anxiety, depression, forbidden love,
summary To JYPE, the solution is simple; take the sole trainee that will not debut with your brand new girl group, and use her to replace the missing vocalist in your male group that insisted on starting as nine.
Unfortunately, to the fans and the members themselves, it isn't that simple.

At 6:05 on the dot, there's a knock on your door.
He must have been up all night waiting for your text, you think as you answer it, the way that he'd made it down the stairs within five minutes of your alarm going off. You're still in your pyjamas, a hoodie thrown over the top when you'd dragged yourself out of bed to combat the early-morning cold of your apartment.
The boys waiting outside your door are dressed similarly, at least, padding around in clothes they've chosen at random from a laundry hamper somewhere and shoes that they kick off as soon as they pass through your doorway. You're not surprised to see Chan, hair sticking up at every end like he's gotten straight out of bed for this and not bothered to even try to stick it back down again, but you are surprised to see Changbin. You don't think you've ever seen or heard a peep from Changbin at this time of the morning.
"Good morning," Chan says as you close the door, lingering within arm's reach as Changbin wanders his way further into your apartment like he's looking for something.
"Good morning," you echo, your attention divided between the two of them. "What are you doing here?"
"Well," Chan hedges, hesitating like he's not decided yet what he's going to say next. "Changbin is here to steal your cereal."
"Hyunjin ate all of mine," Changbin says, his feet carrying him one step closer to the kitchen in question.
You wave him towards it, despite warnings you've been given against ever giving him free reign over your pantry. "There's eggs in the fridge too if you want them," you offer, and your heart lifts at the way his face lights up. It's funny how such a little thing could cause such simple joy.
"Gamsamnida, noona," he says, and disappears into your kitchen.
Chan steps into your line of vision.
"What are you doing here?" you ask when he doesn't immediately say anything, though the pit in your stomach and the sleepless night unravelling behind you say that you already know the answer.
He draws in a breath and holds it, anticipation paling his face just enough for you to notice. "I'm being honest," he says, his eyes flicking up to the kitchen door. Changbin doesn't appear - he's busy making a lot of noise with your pans in there, the slam of a cupboard door a little too obvious to be anything but deliberate. "I promised I'd be honest with you, so...I'm here."
"About the things they're saying online, or what's going to happen next?" you question; and you don't miss the way that his face falls, his brow tightening imperceptibly.
"You've seen it," he sighs, as if he'd been hoping for something different.
A grim smile twists itself around your mouth. "It's trending," you point out. "It's kind of hard to miss."
"True." He looks away, eyes casting behind him to where Changbin is being deliberately noisy in the kitchen as he hunts through your cabinets for something. "I'm sorry."
"For what?" you question. "You didn't do anything."
"They're my fans," he says and then blinks, correcting himself. "Our fans - if something I've done makes them think-"
You've seen the messages he's talking about, the back-and-forth between fans debating whether this was his idea or something that had been forced upon him by the company. Always Chan - Chan's group, Chan's members, Chan's decision. If the trending tags were anything to be believed, the general consensus was that the Chan they knew and loved would never do this to them, nor would he endorse it. It was obvious that you had forced your way into the group, and at first opportunity he would drop you right back out again; if only they screamed loudly enough in opposition, JYP would give him that choice quicker.
You didn't find that daunting at all. There wasn't a black pit opening inside your gut every time you thought about it, the urge to get back to the practice rooms and gruelling hours of work scratching at your skin.
"You're acting like you told them to do this," you tell him wryly, and the corner of his mouth quirks upwards. Nearly a smile, despite how sardonic it feels.
"I definitely did not," he answers, a hand pressed to his chest in honesty. "I meant what I said the other day. You're one of my people now."
Inexplicably, warmth blooms in your chest around the icy cold that has had a stranglehold around your stomach since you'd first seen...well, everything that's happening. The reminder of the conversation you'd had before all of this began is timely - it was easy to forget sometimes, around the screaming of a thousand voices that it couldn't be true, that he had chosen you, in a backwards way. That all of this was only happening now because he'd fought with the company for you. Because he'd won the fight, a feat you've never seen accomplished before, in a long career of letdowns.
Your teeth grit together at the thought of those voices online, hiding behind screens as if they know anything about what’s happened in the last three months or even the past six years. You had forgotten for a while last night, all the things that Chan had said; you’d felt like throwing something across the room, God’s Menu playing over and over through a tinny speaker until your body moved without thinking. You’ve contained most of that rage since, under the assurance that none of them know what they’re talking about, and truly, you don’t think that you’ll really care at all as the days wear on; but still-
"Someone should have told them that," you say without thinking, and then watch as Chan's brow furrows. "Sorry. I didn't mean you. It's not your fault."
"Someone will," he replies. "Once I've been to this meeting with management. Which I am probably going to be late for."
His phone appears in his hand, the screen lighting up to show him the time. "If you have to go-" you begin to say, already moving out of the way of the door.
"He's eating breakfast first," Changbin says from the kitchen door before Chan can argue with you himself.
"Am I?" Chan asks; but his voice is mild and his feet are already turning towards Changbin, all the fight draining from his body before he has even begun.
"You think I'm going to eat all of the eggs myself?" Changbin fires right back. "I'm not a pig."
"But I thought you were a pig, Changbin," Chan says and watches in amusement as the sound of Changbin shouting indignantly fills the air of your apartment.

|Chapter•Nine|
•|Masterlist|•
(M/n) found himself trying to sleep for the remaining hours he had left of rest, but he soon realized it was useless, he can't fall asleep again because his mind is awake, alert, and on edge.
He sat on the mattress and reached his hand to the bookshelf, taking out his journal and a pen from the box, reaching up the top to turn his lamp on, opening a random empty page and (writing/drawing) about his dream, or what he could remember of it, which wasn't much.
Closing the journal, he stared at the WCKD label on the hardcover, and he couldn't hold back from doodling all around it, drawing devil horns and fire around it.
After a little while of mocking the Creators, (M/n) was getting bored, sleep was definitely not coming back to him until later in the evening, so he found some rope made of hay, and the origami he had done. Poking small holes in them with a needle and using the stray strands of the rope to secure the paper on the rope, he thought some simple decorations for the walls didn't sound too bad. He kept hanging the origami on the rope, leaving roughly 3 centimeters of distance between each one, and he soon ran out of rope, so he placed it on top of his bookshelf to hang it later.
(M/n) realized there was no point in staying in his room any longer, the sky was turning clearer but there was no sight of sunlight just yet, so everyone was still asleep. He stood up and grabbed his bag with the few snacks he packed the previous day and walked out.
He quickly yet silently made his way to the kitchen to grab his bottle and put it inside the bag, before jogging to the closed Maze Doors, placing his bag on the ground to make his way to the Blood House, he decided he was gonna be useful before he left for the day.
Greeting every animal that woke up, (M/n) filled their water and food bowls, greeted Bark with pets and kisses, staying outside of the barn to play with him for a little while. Until his eyes noticed two figures approaching him, Minho was heading his way with one of the guys he saw on his first day, the long-haired blond one was... Dan, right?
"Alright, boy, I gotta go," he leaned down and kissed Bark's head, walking out of the barn as the Maze Doors did their mechanical growl-like sound as they opened.
Bark watched him from his spot, his tail moving slowly as the three of them ran into the Maze, observing (M/n) as he disappeared.
/////
Running the Maze was quiet at first, until Minho started making conversation with both of them, and of course, (M/n) ended up mentioning Gally, catching Dan's attention, seeing the playful smirk growing on his face as he looked at him over his shoulder.
"Gally, eh? Didn't picture him as your type, greenie," (M/n) felt his face warm up but he decided to blame it on all the running he had been doing, laughing and shrugging.
"We're not like that-" he couldn't finish his phrase because Minho snorted.
"Yeah, they're just friends, Dan," (M/n) scoffed playfully at the obvious sarcastic tone in Minho's voice.
"We are!" He exclaimed with a wide smile, laughing a little between words.
But Dan wasn't convinced, "Not with the way he looks at you, no," both Dan and Minho kept running ahead of him, chuckling at each other as if they got their hands on the world's biggest secret, and (M/n) was... Confused, to say the least.
Dan's words made his heart beat faster and his tummy tingle, but he knew better than to believe anything that wasn't said by Gally himself. They're just playing, yeah... That's all they're doing.
And now, it was time for a chance of pace, "So..." He started as he approached them, keeping a steady jogging pace, "How long have you been a Runner, Dan?" The blond glanced at him and tried to smile, but it looked more like a grimace.
"Almost two years, but I'm not exactly a Runner, I'm a Map Maker, although we do run the Maze as well," (M/n) frowned and nodded at his explanation. There were some jobs that had some sort of 'ramifications' for putting it in a fancy word.
"Kind of like the Builders and the Brick-nicks, I get it," he added to his explanation, humming as he glanced up the huge walls momentarily. They were approaching new territory, or so it seemed, because Minho looked at Dan, who reached for his bag and pulled out a journal and a pencil, mapping the turns they did, along with the unexplored pathways.
He wasn't expecting to be running along unknown territory, but he trusted Minho, if anyone knew anything about the Maze, it was him.
//////
The sound of the Maze Doors opening woke Gally up, he sat on his bed and rubbed his eyes before yawning. There wasn't much noise coming from the Glade besides a couple of guys awake and walking around, usually Frypan and some other cook getting up to start with breakfast. And Gally wasn't the type to laze around for long, so he got up from his bed, picked up his sketchbook, and made quick way to the bathroom in the Homestead.
He greeted Fry on his way past the kitchen and subconsciously started making his way to (M/n)'s tree, he only realized where he was going when he spotted Bark walking in the same direction as he, both of them stopping and making eye contact briefly.
"Hey, boy," Bark wagged his tail at him and continued on his path, Gally right behind him. He watched how Bark laid next to a tree, under its shade, and Gally briefly remembered that Bark had been staying at the treehouse all the while (M/n) was gone, the poor labrador was already there when he and (M/n) had come to chill out for a little bit.
He reached for his sketchbook when an idea sparked in his mind. Flipping through the pages, he found the finished blueprint for the treehouse, stapled to the page with the original sketch. He moved the paper away and gripped his pencil, doing a rough drawing of a dog house on the free space under (M/n)'s room, making it a close space to protect Bark from the cold wind and the rain, a foundation so he wouldn't sleep on the mud, sketching a small roof under the window, where his food and water bowls would be.
Gally is focused on getting every detail done as precisely as possible, figuring out (M/n) wouldn't really mind Bark's company, they really seemed to get along, a relationship of unconditional and mutual love.
But he's so entranced in what he's doing that he doesn't realize a few hours going by, skipping breakfast and lunch, only snapping back to reality when he hears the alarm of the Box coming up, and he remembered (M/n) telling him a thing about how there might be something for him with the supplies.
Gally secured his sketchbook back on his utility belt and jogged his way to the Box, reaching it right when the mechanical gates were opening up. He ignored everyone that asked him where he was, and silently jumped in the Box.
Looking around briefly, he spotted a rather small white cardboard box that had (M/n)'s name written on it, and he decided to leave it for last before handing crates of various sizes to the rest of the Builders. And when everyone was busy getting everything to their respective place, he grabbed the cardboard box and climbed out.
"Hey, uh..." Everyone around looked at Gally as he spoke, watching him fidget with something in his hands, "I'll be right back, start without me."
Doug nodded and called for everyone else to keep working on getting their supplies where they belong, and Gally turned around, heading to the treehouse.
Bark spotted him from afar, lifting his head off the ground and his tail thumping softly on the grass, Gally smiled at him briefly before going up the ladder and opening the door.
The bookshelf they built together sat next to the mattress, and the double curtains (M/n) made were held up by a nail on either top corner of it, some thinner rope tied to each one. The curtains were open to showcase the books on the horizontal crates on top of each other, his clothes and other things were kept in the vertical ones on either side. It was simple and looked nice. And...
They made it together.
Gally walked inside and place the box on top of the bookshelf, basically working as a drawer and bedside table by now, and he noticed the journal laying next to the lamp. A chuckle escaped him at the sight of the silly doodles around the WCKD label on the hardcover, some words written under it but crossed out.
And then he saw all the origami (M/n) did tied to a rope, it looked like it was gonna be some simple decoration, and he wondered where he was gonna hang them. He looked around for a moment, the little bit of light coming through the slightly open curtain made the place look cozy and homey.
Gally found himself wanting to stay inside for the remaining hours of the day, but he had stuff to do, so letting out a sigh, he turned around and left the treehouse.
//////
While he was busy placing the supplies in their respective spots, he overheard two other Builders snickering nearby. They had their back turned to him so neither of them had seen him.
"Well, but... Even if she is hot, she would be so much hotter if she stopped being... Like that, you know? It feels like I'm attracted to a guy, I hate it," Gally's jaw clenched, suddenly remembering (M/n)'s comment about how he would never fit in the Glade, and how everyone viewed him like... A girl.
He stood straight and stood behind them, towering over them, being a head taller than both.
"If I hear you talking about (M/n) like that again," both of them flinched at the rough tone in Gally's voice, looking up at him, trembling under his glare, "You'll be working under the sun with no breaks," they gave frantic nods at him, staring at the deep frown on his brow, "And you'll be working extra today, now back to work."
Their complaining whines got stuck in their throat when Gally turned around and went back to work.
Unfortunately for the rest of the Builders, they also had to face a pissed off Gally, who was tense and on edge as he supervised their work, especially when they were put to work on something Alby requested needed to be done. Some of them were definitely glaring at the culprits, who worked more as Brick-nicks rather than Builders, but were also part of this whole thing.
No one complained and silently followed Gally's instructions, not wanting to anger him more. However, they felt relieved when he walked away after he spotted Winston, heading to the Homestead with containers filled with meat.
"Winston," he called him as he walked next to him, the Keeper of the Slicers hummed in response, "Could you take Bark's water and food bowl to the greenie's tree house? Thank you!" And he was gone before he could get a response.
"...Sure."
Gally ran over to Mikah and Xan, who were drinking some water and wiping the sweat off their faces, panicking when they realized their Keeper walking closer to them.
"We'll get back to work-," Gally stopped them from doing so, holding them by their shoulders and making them turn around, a little frightened about what could happen to them.
"I need your guys' help with something," he announced calmly, instead of snapping at them for slacking. They briefly glanced at each other, "Come with me."
Gally started heading toward the warehouse where planks, sticks, rope, and such were kept safely, dragging Kurt with them on his way.
He was very brief and concise when he told them what to do. Mikah and Xan were in charge of carrying planks, sticks, and ivy back to the treehouse, while Kurt ran to the Homestead to get the builders' toolbox.
When they were done, he lead the way, telling them where to put everything and how they could stay if they wanted, but they didn't need to help him.
They were skeptical, Gally was mad no less than twenty minutes ago, but he seemed calmer now, and that was nice, but neither knew how long it would last. Even so, Mikah smiled and went to Gally's side, saying something about wanting to help him.
In the end, they all stayed with Gally, listening about the dog house he was planning to do for Bark, who had stood up to greet all of them briefly, pressing himself up against Gally, who scratched his ears like (M/n) did.
While they were discussing the foundation of the house, Winston came by to drop the bowls with food and water for Bark, who went and ate something, taking some gulps of water before sitting by a tree, staring at them as they worked. For now, they were only gonna get the basics done, the size of the floor and the four columns under (M/n)'s room.
A while later, Gally let everyone else go back to the Homestead or wherever they wanted to go while he tied sticks together with ivy, he didn't wanna leave Bark sleeping in the cold, so he was improvising a quick wall that should work as a provisional thing.
But now, (M/n) should be coming back from the Maze.
//////
With nothing to do as he waited, Gally's mind wandered to the single thought of how (M/n)'s arrival at the Glade was two weeks ago. Time does fly when you're having fun, it almost felt like only three days had gone past...
"Gally?"
He blinked and noticed (M/n) standing in front of him. He looked tired and that made Gally frown, although he understood that the greenie would be tired from running for eight hours straight, that didn't make him feel less worried about him.
In complete silence, he handed him another candy, watching how he unwrapped it and ate it, releasing a quiet and short hum as he turned to make his way to the Homestead. Gally followed him closely, keeping an eye on him and seeing how (M/n)'s eyes were closing on their own as he walked.
He watched (M/n) as he sat down by the entrance to the Homestead, and he sat right next to him, "Long day?" He finally managed to say.
(M/n) looked up at him, and showed him a tiny smile, nodding sluggishly in response, "Yep," he replied quietly, barely audible.
Gally offered him some more snacks, but (M/n) shook his head and silently drank some water from the bottle he brought, placing it down between his legs, staring far into the Glade. Everything was quiet, or well, they were the quiet ones, and Gally's mind wandered, realizing how the annoyance he felt earlier was gone, he wasn't mad or feeling on edge anymore, all of that was gone by simply being in (M/n)'s presence, and he wasn't sure if that was a good thing.
It meant he had someone who he could spend time with to relax and be himself without his tough façade, but it also meant (M/n) was his weakness, that he had a soft spot for the greenie and other shanks or slintheads -like Peter or Billy- would soon realize that and he didn't want to involve him in anything that could hurt him-
The soft bump he felt on his shoulder snapped him back, feeling an increasing weight on him. Did he...?
Slowly moving his head to his side, he realized that his thoughts were true, and (M/n) fell asleep on his shoulder. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to ignore the feeling of the goosebumps covering his skin and the way his heart started beating faster, and louder -or it felt like it did, pounding like that in his ears-.
Gally really didn't want to move, but he was only able to stay still for so long, since Fry had started calling dinner. He sighed and shook (M/n) gently, calling his name quietly, managing to wake him up rather quickly, as it seemed he wasn't asleep just yet.
"Hm? What... What happened?" He asked sleepily as he rubbed his eyes, yawning and shaking his head a bit, it reminded Gally of a puppy.
He buried the thought in the back of his mind, and stood up, helping (M/n) do so as well, "Dinner is ready, come on."
//////
With dinner going by quickly, (M/n) finished eating and stood up to head to his room, his eyelids closing on their own but managing not to trip on his way there.
He noticed something being built under his house, but he didn't think much of it, he figured Gally had a good reason for it and went up the ladder, putting some force to raise it off the ground before going into his room. There wasn't much he was able to see, but his eyes had been getting used to the dark outside so his sight focused rather quickly.
(M/n) put on an extra effort to change his sweaty clothes to clean ones, leaving the dirty ones on the remaining space atop his bookshelf-drawer-bedside table, and simply... Knelt on his mattress before falling face-first into his pillow, needing to restore energy for the next day, figuring he would be gone for longer again.
That night, his mind was plagued with dreams, but only one stood out, probably because of the feeling of calmness and ease he felt. He was sitting on a rooftop, staring at what seemed to be a city, pretty advanced in his opinion, seeing as it looked nothing like the Glade. The sight and the place were rather eye-catching, mesmerizing in a way, but he realized he would rather pick the green scenery of the Glade over all the lights and tall buildings surrounding him, unable to see more than a few stars lathering the night sky.
Putting all those observations aside, he noticed something else. He could hear himself humming a song, quietly followed by his singing voice, his hand holding someone else's, someone who was humming alongside him.
He tried to look toward the person he was sitting with, to know the person holding onto his hand and gently squeezing it, but his sight was locked straight ahead of him.
"I just wanna be with you, (M/n)..."
There goes the same phrase he heard on his first day as a greenie, the same voice just a little bit clearer, and he realized.
It sounded... Familiar.
//////
This time, when (M/n) was running the Maze, everything was quiet, but he did not mind that Alby and Aiden weren't talking to him, or talking at all, the quiet was nice because he needed time to think, still making sure he didn't stay behind and both of them remained on his field of vision, jogging ahead of him with a few feet of distance.
Minho told him before they left that today they had to explore a new area that opened up in the Maze, they couldn't keep putting it back just because he was on his Runner trial, so this could go really good or really bad. He wasn't worried in the slightest, he had been able to keep up with Minho for two days, and he figured he could...
"Okay, we're here," Alby spoke as they slowed down to a walk, and soon his eyes caught sight of a weird section of the Maze, "Start mapping the Blades, Aidan," the Keeper of the Map Makers nodded, and did the same Dan had done the previous day, he started marking their path, "Greenie," he looked at Alby with wide eyes, caught off guard for a moment, "You're gonna be taking some of the ivies on the walls and would trail our path, so we don't get lost."
He nodded and reached his arms to tear some of the ivy hanging on the walls, putting them on the ground and holding them down with any heavy rock he found.
Everything was alright, but the longer they walked and stayed there, an uneasiness started settling in his chest, he almost felt as if someone- something was watching their every move. (M/n) felt like a prey out in the open, waiting for a predator to jump him.
And he swore he heard something akin to a metal growl in the distance, snapping his attention in that direction, halting his movements. He squinted and saw the sun reflecting onto something, and he wondered what it could be-
"Greenie, don't stay behind," he apologized quietly and obeyed Alby, heading his way while continuing on his task, and yet, he was unable to shake the feeling of anything happening during their time in the Maze.
//////
Gally was pissed.
More Gladers had been making unnecessary comments about (M/n), and there wasn't much he could do when they were part of the Sloppers and the Baggers, he had no authority regarding them, and that only left him angrier, closing his fists tightly as he held back from punching them until they understood they were doing something wrong. But they were slintheads before and they'll continue to be, beating them up wasn't gonna change their behavior.
So now, in order to focus on something else, he was working away to finish Bark's house, taking a few breaks every now and again, especially when Bark came up to him asking for attention and wanting to play around.
He made sure to refill his bowls, realizing the previous bag of dog food had run out but they'd gotten a new one yesterday coming in the Box. Gally noticed that Bark had been feeling lonely and looking down ever since (M/n) had been running the Maze, and he couldn't blame him, he felt the exact same way.
Sitting on the grass with Bark laying on his lap, he realized, has he ever felt lonely in the Glade just because one of his friends wasn't around? The answer was no, he hadn't, and he blamed that on the feeling that he never felt like he had a true friend, or someone who he could consider as such.
He stood when Bark walked away to drink more water, and he tried to continue building, but with his head somewhere else besides the structure, he ended up cutting open the skin of his fingers. He considered just keep working, but it was bleeding quite a bit, as most hand injuries do, so he huffed and made his way to the Homestead.
Walking straight to the med room, he stepped in and immediately made eye contact with Newt, who was rubbing his left leg and groaning in pain.
"It's acting up, isn't it?" He asked quietly as he started rummaging the drawers in his search for bandaids. Gally glanced at Newt, seeing him nod with a frown in response before he went back to look around.
Newt maintained his look on the taller blond, "How you feelin'?" It took Gally a few seconds to answer, simply asking something else in return.
"'Bout what?"
He sighed and simply said it, "About (M/n)," Newt didn't miss the way Gally stopped moving for a short while before taking a deep breath and shrugging, trying to act nonchalantly.
"G-good, I think... He'll be going in the Maze tomorrow as well," Newt silently nodded, taking notice of the small frown on Gally's face.
"But...?" Sighing again, Gally grabbed the bandaid and sat on the couch behind him, fiddling with it.
"I feel... Alone, and like I'm a shucking idiot for liking him because he's into girls but a lot of the guys see him as one... and I'm worried about him being in the Maze with the Runners for so long," certainly, Newt wasn't expecting Gally to actually tell him what was bothering him, but he understood Gally's worry.
Not only was (M/n) -biologically- the only girl in the Maze, but he was also their dear greenie, one that hadn't caused trouble on purpose and had been a great help to everyone in the Glade, whether they deserved his kindness or not, and he was... The guy Gally liked.
Newt wasn't gonna let the thought of Gally liking someone else get to him, he was the one that wanted to continue being friends with him after all, and he had offered his ears and mind to help him if he ever needed to talk about his feelings.
They continued talking for another while, until Gally decided he was gonna get back to work, unable to stop himself from apologizing to Newt for simply rambling and bothering him with his dumb issues, to which Newt said it was nothing and didn't have to feel sorry, that he wanted to help him.
"Don't worry, mate, we're all humans after all," he said as a way to reassure him, and it worked.
But Newt didn't like the way his heart skipped a beat when he saw Gally smiling at him as he left the med room.
With gritted teeth, Newt messed up his hair in frustration, "What the shuck is wrong with me?"
//////
With the sun setting in the horizon behind the Walls, Gally wiped the sweat off his forehead, done building Bark's house, and placing his bowls on the intended spot he made, right under (M/n)'s window, a small roof sticking off the side to work as cover. He liked it. Now he had to run to the barn to get Bark's bed.
And... Done!
He looked at Bark and petted his head, "That's your new home, boy," gently tapping his back, he watched how Bark slowly approached the house, sniffing it before recognizing the smell of his bed and he walked in, laying on it, his snout poking out the door.
Gally smiled and glanced at his watch, the Runners should be coming back soon...
Making his way to the Homestead he grabbed a few snacks that continued to lay around in the cabinets, on rare occasions anyone that wasn't a Runner ate them, since they were mostly kept for them to eat while in the Maze. He grabbed a water bottle from the fridge and began making his way to the doors, waiting for (M/n) again.
This time around, they came back right on time before the Doors closed, and Gally couldn't help but realize that the greenie looked exhausted, he was almost mad at Alby for making him run for such a long time, but that was the point of the Runner trials, to prove they could take the mental and physical exhaustion.
(M/n) turned to look at him the moment he entered the Glade, completely ignoring the food he had on his hands and leaning against his body, taking a deep breath as he closed his eyes, Gally's proximity and body heat was pretty much all he needed to fall asleep standing, he felt safe after being on edge the whole time he was at the Blades, feeling observed even on their way back, and now he was much better.
Gally didn't push (M/n) away, he simply wrapped his arm around his middle and took him to the Homestead, heading to the dining area while they waited for dinner to be ready.
Fry had noticed the greenie's state, so he got his plate ready first along with Gally's, and told Carl to take the tray to them.
With (M/n) barely being able to keep his eyes open, he ended up getting Gally to feed him, not that the Keeper really minded, everyone knew better than to make fun of him in his presence, and well, the sight was rather cute, he couldn't let this opportunity pass.
Even as cute as (M/n) looked falling asleep every few seconds, Gally wasn't gonna let him walk back to his treehouse in the dark, on his own, otherwise he was probably gonna trip and end up sleeping on the dirt, so he took (M/n) there, catching his attention to make sure he would raise the ladder before heading inside, telling him to close the door.
A sleepy (M/n) smiled at him from his elevated spot, leaning on the doorframe, "Thank you, Gally..." His voice was rumbly and deep, clearly tired after the day he had, and Gally felt a shiver run down his spine, one that he couldn't nor wanted to blame on the cold breeze around him, whistling in the leaves of the trees.
He smiled back, his face warming up as he nodded.
"Good night, (M/n)."
//////
His hands were holding someone's face in the dark, the breaths mixing as their foreheads pressed together.
"We're gonna be together soon, okay? I promise," whoever he was holding nodded in response, feeling their hands moving his hair back.
"I trust you, (M/n)."
The scenery changed after those words, and now he was in the same security room from before, screens in front of him showing him images of the Glade.
His eyes stared at everyone running toward the Box, opening it, and helping the new guy get out, his ears picking up on the conversation they were having.
"Where am I?! Why can't I remember anything?!" He frowned at the words he heard, and he turned to stare at a blonde woman.
"We... We had a deal! We weren't supposed to erase his memories!" The woman never looked at him, and he got angry, launching himself at her, but being stopped by two men holding him back, "We had a deal, Ava!"
With a jolt, he woke up.
(M/n) sat up on his bed and held his pounding head in his hands. What were these dreams he kept having? Were they just nonsense?
Or were those his memories before being sent to the Glade?

Actually i will say on KAYF...
The basic premise of KAYF was an idea I first got roughly ten years ago after watching various vampire media. (Let the Right One In, Shiki, etc.) Not the whole plot, but the basic premise of a (queer) couple broken up by one becoming a vampire while their town is being destroyed by...well, vampires. Originally with my friend's and my Star Wars ocs from the MMO swtor we were obsessed with and made a billion AUs for, but very quickly it became its own thing in my head with new OCs.
But at that point in my life i was not writing fiction. I was always too self conscious of my writing because someone flamed my cringeybwriting on Neopets when I was, like...8 or something. So I literally went a full ass decade without writing fiction (with the exception of a couple attempts i immediately abandoned because I hated them) until I decided to try again with South Park fanfiction because i don't even know. Which includes The Thief, which I was shocked people liked. It was a TERRIBLE point in my life, I should say, so having people enjoy what I wrote and saying nice things about it was quite literally one of the only good things I had.
But anyway I still had that vampire idea in the back of my head, but just as random scenes that played in my head of the two main charades + the person who ended up being Estella. (Though originally her and Scott's role was combined.) The plot wasn't really defined or anything, but the basic ending was in my head from the very very beginning.
Anyway...2020. i was supposed to see MCR. Then COVID postponed it. I was very sad about this. So I extra emo-ly listened to a shit ton of MCR. And listening to MCR, suddenly I was thinking about that vampire story and their music pretty much helped me put the plot into place. The terminal illness plotline. The vampire of the pairing being obsessed to save his love and the cruelty from the other vampires regarding that. And ofc the song Kill All Your Friends itself gave me the set up of an IT-like time skip where someone died and they all go back.
They were all still 100% OCs in my head at this point. I didn't really have much confidence anyone would like these idea but, I was actively writing South Park fanfiction people liked well enough. I'd only ever written fanfiction. So I was like "huh I guess I can make this idea Creek".
So I did. And then wrote three chapters and didn't update for a full year.
But then in 2021 it became my ADHD obsession. I stopped caring about The Thief Trilogy. All I could think of was KAYF and wrote the rest of it in three or so months... Over 100k words. Pretty sure the update schedule was longer than that, but I spaced out chapters by a week long after I was finished.
And people seemed to like it. It was too dark to be as popular as the Thief Trilogy, but I knew that. It was a much more personal story, though, especially with how emotional it was, so it meant SO MUCH to me that anyone liked it. Also because The Thief Trilogy feels basically just like a bloated fanfiction adaptation of the SOT game to me, while KAYF feels like mine, so the kind words for it meant even more in a way.
Until someone I thought was a friend trashed it relentlessly. Like, I'm fine with constructive criticism but they were just horrible. Spoiled the plot for people who wanted to read it directly after i asked them not to, went on condescending rants about how there was too much filler, how Tweek in it was an awful character who deserved to die, claimed characters were all too unsympathetic, joked about parts I meant in earnest, etc. And they got really mad at me that my feelings were hurt by this. It was a whole thing.
Anyway, I'm still to this day years later obsessed with this story year. I think about it every day, which is probably more unhealthy ADHD shit. And I always think about how to make it better. I hate how I wrote it so fast and didn't think about certain details or pacing or what have you. Like, once I finished writing it, I was sad because I wanted to keep writing it. I still do.
I hate that I disappoint people by not having it out there. I want it out there, just not the version I rushed in three months.
So, for now, the fic is hidden. Indefinitely.
Anyway if you read all this tl;dr rambling congratulations I guess.

Enjoyed the first chapter of Best Laid Plans, looking forward to the rest! 😊
I'm curious about your process as a fic writer - and forgive me if you've already answered this elsewhere, but then again, the process seems very different this time around.
With this one, Tumblr obviously chose a bunch of elements of the story, but did you have large plot pieces in your head already for the various suggested scenarios? Or certain scenes or moments you are trying to work in? When you outline, how do you decide chapter breaks/how do you know concretely from the start that it will be __ chapters long? I know again that Tumbr decided for you the fact that it would be POV alternating - how much does that help or hinder you when plotting things out?
And, also, how does this differ from your usual process for writing, when you have all the control?
(I've read most of everything you've written, so feel free to reference anything if that helps! And thank you so much 💜)
Hiiii! Thank you so much for the question! I’ll break it down into parts and try to answer to the best of my ability.
Tumblr obviously chose a bunch of elements of the story, but did you have large plot pieces in your head already for the various suggested scenarios?
A lot of the plot options I picked are ones that have been percolating around in my head for a while, so I had a lot of notes already. The plot of Best Laid Plans, for instance, is one I’ve been wanting to write for years and had originally planned to use for an original novel. Because of that, I have A LOT of notes on it. I even already had it plotted out into a perfect three act structure, but luckily by turning it into a fanfic, I’ve allowed myself a little room to breathe.
The two prompts I was most worried about being chosen were the Revenge AU and the Kidnapped AU because I didn’t have any notes on those at all—and for a hot second there, the Revenge AU was winning. It scared me so much that I went ahead and plotted it out just in case I would need it.
So, to answer your question, I got really lucky with the plot that was picked and there are definitely certain scenes I am very eager to write. I mentioned before that this plot is based off of the novel Best Laid Plans by Cameron Lund and what frustrated me most about that novel was that the whole premise was two best friends practicing having sex together but (*spoiler alert*) they never actually did! So my main goal with this particular plot was just to explore that concept further and I’m very eager for y’all to read what I have planned.
When you outline, how do you decide chapter breaks/how do you know concretely from the start that it will be x chapters long?
My outlines are very rough. I usually start by just typing up a 1000-2000 word summary of the entire fic. From there, I break the scenes into chapters in such a way that each chapter is either going to end on a cliff hanger or a good stopping point and I add additional scenes from there depending on how sparse each chapter looks.
What’s funny is that my outlines have become a lot more detailed over the past year because I distinctly remember the outline for Only Friends just being chapter headings with a list of random sex acts under each one 😂
I know again that Tumbr decided for you the fact that it would be POV alternating - how much does that help or hinder you when plotting things out?
Plotting becomes a lot more difficult with dual POVs. I had a feeling that option was going to win because every time I finish a fic, people beg me to re-write it in the opposite POV. It’s hard because you have to give each character a distinct voice and motivations while also making sure one character doesn't claim the whole story as their own.
I’m much more comfortable writing in Akk’s POV and this premise lends itself very well to being written in Akk’s POV, so I definitely struggled outlining some of the Aye chapters. There’s only so much one boy can pine, you know? But I think I finally reached a balance that I like. It ended up being six chapters for each character and I liked the symmetry of that. It could certainly change, though!
And, also, how does this differ from your usual process for writing, when you have all the control?
The outlining itself really wasn’t different at all aside from the frustration of the dual POVs, which I don’t write often. What was different was that I kept trying to outline before the polls had concluded and then I had to change things. The biggest example of this was with the “campus playboy” poll. I really felt in my heart that Wen was going to win that one, so I had outlined almost the whole fic with Wen and then had to change it. Obviously, I should have just waited, but it’s very interesting looking back now to see the difference.
Wen was going to be a much more present character and I had a side plot planned where he falls in love with his Professor, Jim, but with Boeing, I’ve kind of adopted a “the less we know, the better” approach. There’s just no way to write him as a viable option for Akk, so I had to work around that.
Most of my fics are outlined the same way. It’s probably most similar to the snowflake method where you start with a one sentence premise and just keep expanding on it from there, but my outlines are by no means comprehensive and I usually end up surprised by the finished product just as much as the reader.
I hope this was at least a little bit helpful! Thank you so much for the question 💕

Chapter 4
Secrets
Nightmares weren't strangers, but it had been a while since your parents had made an appearance, let alone the Gaunts, who now had cleared up to match the way you saw them a few weeks ago.
Still, you, Ominis and Sebastian continued to press on with your classes, trying to concentrate through it.
At times you thought you saw someone watching you from the castle gates, but they'd vanish too fast.
The three of you have taken to sleeping in the room, and after being reported for not being in the common room you had to explain the situation to Professor Weasley and Fig.
Though they weren't surprised to hear about Professor Black's involvement, you noticed the castle had more suits of armor and in almost every corridor now.
"How are you doing?" The question startled you out of a daydream, making Sebastian frown. "You two don't seem to be on edge lately."
"They've had no choice but to back off," Ominis answered. "Weasley even had us followed for a while to deter them."
"So, a trip out of the castle is out of the question, but what about-"
"I can't today," you cut in, getting both of them to look your way.
"What exactly have you been doing? You're coming and going at all hours," Ominis asked.
He hadn't brought up your half-lie since the night your parents showed up, but you could tell he was burning with questions.
"And don't say extra assignments, that lie is less believable with each retelling."
"Is this anger because I won't tell you or because you're worried I'd run into either of our parents?" You asked, giving him the opportunity to dig himself out of the grave he just buried himself in.
"I'd rather you not go to random places alone, especially with our them hawking around."
"You forgot to add, Ranrok, Harlow and Rookwood- ow!"
You glared at Sebastian as he rubbed his arm from where you pinched it. He had whispered it, but you knew Ominis could hear him anyway.
"What? Why would they be after you?"
Sebastian motioned for you to tell Ominis the truth, a silent argument breaking out as Ominis waited, hearing only the shifting of cloths when either of you moved.
"Hello? Why are all so many people after you?"
"Popularity sucks," you replied quickly before continuing your disagreement with Sebastian.
"Very funny," he grumbled, shifting closer as his head cocked to the side, trying to pick up what was happening. "What's going on? Why are you two shifting so much?"
You instantly stopped as soon as the tip of Ominis's wand started pulsing red as he lifted it.
"What are you keeping from me? Is this about that relic?"
Annoyance flicked over Sebastian's features as he harshly pointed at you, then jabbed it towards Ominis.
When you shook your head, he half growled. "No, it's not about the relic-"
"Sebastian," you warned.
"He could help-"
You rolled your eyes knowing it was just an excuse.
"Sebastian, you can't help me. Natty can't help me. Poppy can't help me. Even Professor Fig can't help me. What makes you think Ominis can?"
By the time you caught into why Sebastian was smirking, you picked up the closest pillow and threw it at him.
"Natsai, Poppy and Fig know?" Ominis asked, drawing your gaze.
Confusion and hurt filtered over his features, making guilt build in your throat, but you weren't really sure why.
"Okay, Natty only found out because she was with me when the troll attacked Hogsmeade. Poppy only knows the ashwinders are after me. Sebastian only found out because I needed his help to break into the restricted section and Professor Fig...well, it was his wife's search."
"The restricted section? Why did you need to get into there?"
Already guessing he thought you were delving into unforgivable magic, you decided to clarify.
"I needed to get UNDER the restricted section. It held the next clue."
"Clue to what exactly?"
Your eyes moved his way at the venom he used.
"You're not seriously thinking that I'd dip a toe in dark magic, I hope," you asked, your tone giving the same warning it had to Sebastian. "Not everything I get wrapped up in has something to do with evil magic."
"Ranrok, Harlow, Rookwood-" he stopped himself before he could say anything else, but it had already hit the nerve you were trying to keep from exploding.
"My parents, your parents, you?"
He flinched, but didn't reply as you glared, pulling a sigh from Sebastian.
"You two are too alike for your own good."
"I'm nothing like him," you spat as you climbed to your feet and settled your eyes onto the milky ones following the sound of your movements. "Or our parents."
You moved to leave before you said anything else, knowing none of it would be kind and headed towards the Map Chamber for the third trial.
You moved slowly, your mind caught up in the memory the pensive showed you.
Isadora gradually turned from a sweet girl to a power hungry witch. Is that what you had to look forward to? Your eventual corruption? Was Ominis right about you the whole time? Just a dark wizard in the making?
"You look like you've gone five rounds with a troll," Garreth teased as he walked over. "Though given your exploits, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case."
You gave a soft, mostly stressful, laugh. "I feel like I've been troll fighting."
He sent a small sympathetic glance, before clapping his hands together. "I'm working on my next epic brew. Would you like to join me?"
Catching his enthusiasm, you couldn't help but fall into step with him as you headed to the potions classroom.
"You're not going to ask me to pinch any fwooper feathers or billywig stings?"
He rubbed his hands together as he laughed awkwardly. "No, I have everything I need this time."
You nodded, hoping that was the case. "Alright, let's go blow up a cauldron."
The results were...pretty much as you expected, though you hadn't counted on Professor Sharp walking in and getting pummeled with the potion, which had the unique side effect of making his voice high pitched.
The both of you were scolded for a continuation of uncontrollable giggles and narrowly escaped detention by offering to clean up the mess before he could tell you to.
"That was an utter mess," Garreth complained as you left the classroom.
"I don't know, trying to keep a straight face while Professor Sharp yelled at us with purple bubbles on his head and shoulders was pretty awesome."
He laughed as he nodded. "Oh man, I will never forget that. If I wasn't there, I'd never believe it."
You groaned while pressing you hand to your chest. "I laughed so hard, my sides hurt."
"At least you laughed," he replied, drawing your attention his way. "Everyone's noticed you haven't been yourself lately. Poppy and Natty were trying to think of ways to make you feel better and what better way than brewing potions?"
You smiled as you realized you had let too much slip out into your face.
"I appreciate it. I haven't laughed like that in a long time," you admitted softly. "Poor Professor Sharp though."
"He's probably already telling the story too. I'm sure he found it as funny as we did."
You weren't quite sure, but you also hadn't been looking as you cleaned and missed the half annoyed and half amused smirk he sent the pair of you as he sat at his desk.
"Just don't be surprised if Natty and Poppy drag you off somewhere later for some kind of fun."
You smiled to yourself as you wondered what they could have planned and if it would top Garreth's disaster.
You parted ways as you headed towards the room of requirement and he headed to his common room.
Though the moment you were alone again, your thoughts began to eat away at you as if punishing you for not having a distraction.
You could only push on however. Too much rested on your shoulders to let it crush you now, not that it didn't try with every step, breath of heartbeat.
You'd worry you'd lose yourself before this term was over.

Hi Glitch! So I have this fanfic idea, totally different show btw, but I dont know how I would go about posting it or even actually start writing it. I've never been inspired to make a fanfic before, heh. Your my favorite fanfic writer and so I thought I would ask you how you decided to write and post your fic. Thanks, if you respond!
How exciting, welcome to the start of a wild journey! I'm flattered by the pick. :}
First up, you need to have an idea, which you have accomplished.
Next, you need to probe further with that idea– what are the specific scenes that make this story worth it to you? What are the emotions, which tiny details of the moment make you go a little bit feral? I usually pick out the climax scene and maybe some random ones that just get me thinking regardless of where in the story they are. Once you get those, hold onto them; they will help get you through any rougher patches of "oh god I do NOT want to write this part" because you will and you must if you want to get to The Scenes.
Next up, battle plans. They don't have to be detailed, but you want to write down a beginning, middle, and end. They can change as you write but you do NOT want to start on a journey with no idea what direction to head from chapter to chapter. It ends badly.
"Well, where do I start writing?"
You can do the beginning, if you know it. I always look back at the plot chart if I need help on figuring out where exactly that should be; pretty much every solid story establishes their character and then kicks off the rising action to start the point of the story, which is how the character will then change over the course of your work. With fanfiction, the exposition can be almost nonexistent since you are jumping off of a platform.
Tumblr media
I think posting is rather the easy part; I use AO3 because it's simply the best place to do so thanks to the formatting and tag filtering systems. Tag as best and accurately as you can, add any needed warnings, and whatever you do make no mention that this is your first story or you can't write summaries or that it won't be good within the tags or summary.
You're fine to mention you are new at writing in the author's notes within the fic itself, of course, but I don't even check out the fics that say "sorry I'm bad at summaries, please just try reading it!" on the proverbial container because a summary can be as simple as copy-pasting a few sentences for a hook. It doesn't have to be complex, it just needs to clue people in on what you are writing about. You are marketing yourself with tags and the summary, don't try and talk people out of giving you a shot.
Most people acknowledge that fanfic is ground zero for a lot of writers, and are very kind about it in comments. It's a great thrill to get the comment notification email, one that will never go away regardless of how many times you get it.
Best of luck! I hope you find great joy and fun in both the process and the result.

After hearing about Oshi no Ko for months, I finally got around to watching season 1/reading up to the latest chapter of the manga,,, and,,, I think I went in with my expectations too high from how much it has been hyped? I enjoyed it, but it feels like a solid 6.5/10 for me
Rambling under the read more
The positive:
Love Ai, love Ruby, love Aqua. I particularly enjoyed how the first arc was set up, I enjoy how Aka has handled writing characters reacting to trauma differently, and I am enjoying the current arc.
Aqua and Ruby's relationship from being doctor/patient that considered each other to be family to being reborn as twin reincarnators to finding out who the other was in the previous life? chef's kiss
Ai on the other hand is honestly one of my absolute favorites and I honestly have no words to describe how much I love how she was written. I just love her,,, so much,,, ┗( T﹏T )┛
The negative:
The Akane - Aqua - Kana love triangle, the completely random interjections of slapstick comedy, the stage play arc, the random crow girl? All felt incredibly unnecessary/take away from the story line.
It honestly feels like Aka wrote the first two arcs and the current arc and then was told by his editor that he needed to fluff the story out. To an extent, I get that he is trying to show different dark parts of show biz/level up Aqua/Ruby's career path, but it just feels so?? Rushed?? Disjointed?? A slodge to read through at times?? Like Aka couldn't decide if he wanted to write a murder mystery, a high school romance, a rise in showbiz, or a comedy, so he spins a wheel every chapter and what it lands on is what that chapter is going to have.
Kana had this fantastic character journey with starting at her lowest point in her career, to starting to realize it's ok to let her acting shine again in the shojo live action, to really starting to really shine on stage/regain her confidence as an idol?? And then comes the stage arc to reset her to zero and go through the entire character development in three panels?? And she leaves the idol group after barely being shown in it??
How the entire idol group is handled??? Is just so weird to me like they were shown on stage one (1) time and they got one (1) MV, and then the group just pretty much just?? gets shoved to the background?? Why wasn't Ruby allowed to go out and recruit members? Why was her showbiz career pretty much just a quick montage?? Why do we see Aqua interacting with the girls more than they do with each other????????? Why is Ruby rarely allowed to interact with anyone without Aqua having to introduce her to them/being the object of their discussion????
I'm just,, not happy with how the idol group was handled in general. I would have loved for the story to focus 50% on Aqua trying to find the killer and 50% on Ruby progressing through her idol career instead of focusing 90% on everyone falling in love with Aqua while he has internal monologues in the corner :| It would have been so so so much fun to see Aqua going a progressively darker route with his manipulations as a foil to his sister who is steadfast in her refusing to lie/go against her morals/actively trying to heal, but still trying to seek justice for her loved ones??
IDK and how the hunt for Aqua/Ruby's dad is being handled is kind of weird? Their dad is a serial killer, but it feels like it was forgotten about for half the series? Like Aqua realizes the killer is probably his dad, but all we are shown (outside of Aqua's thoughts) is one panel per arc showing the completed paternity tests? Like why do we never get to see Aqua in action collecting the samples, making small talk with the crew to try to find clues? Why are there no panels with reporters talking in the background about actresses going missing? If Hikaru really has been killing for what? 20ish years? (Age 11 to 33?), and his primary targets are celebrity women at the peak of their career?? Shouldn't more people?? Notice?? The very famous women missing??? Isn't this something internet forums would be eating up???? Wouldn't Miyako be reminding the girls constantly about safety if she knew celebrity women were going missing? Wouldn't she be implementing safety precautions? Why do we only find out about celebrity deaths out of nowhere?
Like Ai and Gorou's murders were really well done, but the way we find out that Taiki's parents died in a murder/suicide is just by Taiki flat out saying it? Why wasn't that mentioned earlier instead of him just telling Aqua at the very end of that stage play arc? Aqua would have absolutely seen it on the news when it happened or at the very least heard from the director he is studying under?? The crew would have been gossiping about it on set for sure??? With how big of otaku Kana and Akane are about acting, they would have known that from the get go/mentioned it to Aqua when they found out they were acting alongside Taiki?? It's kind of a big elephant in the room and somehow nobody mentions it?? Idk I felt like there could have been just much more suspense/foreshadowing of all the murders/setting up their dad as the big bad, but love triangles and slapstick comedy were the priority (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

It gets worse before it gets better - Felix part 1

Not sure if I was gonna post this yet but I decided to fuck it, updates plan to be once a week but if I miss a week don't kill me writing is hard and sometimes I can't be bothered. Anyways enjoy chapter 1 cya next week!
Preview, description, characters here
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Morning Felix, how are you feeling?" Leedo, Felix's doctor asked as they sat down for his monthly check up. They see each other so often that Leedo was ok with Felix calling him by his first name, plus it makes him feel young for someone who is 32.
"Morning Leedo, Yes I feel fine thank you for asking" Felix replied, slightly fidgeting in his seat, even though this was a monthly occurrence it didn't stop him from feeling slightly scared each time.
"Did you forego your scent blockers like I asked you?" Leedo got out his clipboard so they could begin, they always started with questions first and then a quick procedure after.
"Of course, people kept blocking their noses as I walked past them" One of the many things Leedo needed to check on was Felix's scent as it was a lot stronger than average omegas, he is always asked to not wear his scent blockers a day before his appointment. That way Leedo can analyse the smell throughout the visit and check for anything wrong.
"Did anything weird happen?"
"Nope, it's just really strong, I wear the scent blockers because I once made someone pass out" this comment caused Leedo to laugh a little, writing down his notes like always. Felix could never understand why his scent was so much stronger, but after that day he refuses to leave the apparent without scent blockers unless his doctor asks him.
"What was your slick like this month?" now it was time for the nitty gritty.
The more important issue Leedo always asked about was Felix's slick, because he had a rare condition that caused him to overproduce slick, or produce slick at random times, or even produce slick inside where it has nowhere to go so every month Felix had a needle stuck into him to get rid of the slick or else his insides may explode.
"Annoying as always. I always leak if I sneeze or fart. and when I touch myself I always have to lay a towel down because I turn into a faucet at that point" Felix rants, and he (on the side) watches as Leedo writes everything down with caution. "Also, I fear that I'm a little more swollen than last month, it's been hurting the last few days" Felix admits, I mean he is talking to his doctor so there was no use trying to hide it, he's been seeing Leedo for over 5 years now!
"Oh dear, I better take a look then, please take your pants off then I'll help lift your legs into the stirrups" now it was time for the procedure, Felix never liked needles but he was used to it at this point. It was either needles or a possible surgery!
Once Felix was in position, he closed his eyes and proceeded to take deep breaths, trying his best to stay calm and pretend he was elsewhere.
It worked for long enough until Leedo explained that he was going to begin, a whimper left Felix's lips and a few tears were shed as it always did when the needle pierced his insides, thankfully the stirrups stopping him from moving around too much.
"Shh I know, you're doing so well, not long left" Leedo tried his best to sympathise and comfort even though he was the one causing the pain. The vile was halfway full and once it was almost full no more was coming out which meant Leedo had gotten all of it out, he sighed with relief and removed the needle making sure to dispose of it correctly.
"All done and all gone, you can relax now, and also get dressed" Leedo handed Felix some tissues and then undid the straps that kept his legs in place. "I'll see you next month, enjoy your weekend" Leedo was waving Felix outside of the door.
"How did it go? all good?" Wooyoung, Felix's roommate and best friend who always drove him home afterwords (since it was advised that Felix shouldn't drive himself home) asked. Felix could only muster up a nod though as he was feeling quite tired and wanted to sleep during the car ride home.
"FELIX WILL YOU HURRY YOUR ASS UP" Wooyoung called from outside the door, he was waiting for Felix to finish his business but it seemed as if he was taking forever.
"Fucking hell Woo I'm coming, calm your tits" Felix flushed, and washed his hands before exiting, "and you were listening to me poo because?"
"EW! I was not listening! I just don't wanna be late for this party. Seonghwa always calls us out for being late" Wooyoung was fixing his hair in the mirror they had next to the front door, just making sure it looked good.
"Babe you look fine lets go, you're the one who doesn't wanna be late!" Felix ushered the both of them out of the door before they started to head to the party.
It was a frat party hosted by the most elite and most difficult to get into frat. Felix heard that you had to have a rich background, drive a fancy car, and have no problems with anything that happens at the frat before they even consider accepting you.
Joining a frat was never something Felix wanted to do though, besides the obvious not wanting to go through hell week; he didn't wanna host parties every week or be forced to drink every day or only be allowed to date girls who were from sororities and boys who were from frats which was for some reason a rule at Yeontan.
Now don't get Felix wrong, he loves a good cocktail or having a shot but every day? That thought had Felix hurling in his mind. Felix had nothing against frat guys, he's even friends with some, he's just happy he isn't one of them.
"Hwa-hyung, I told you we wouldn't be late" Wooyoung exclaimed, giving Seonghwa a very tight hug which pulled Felix from his thoughts.
"Yeah, you're on time for once! Jimin texted me and said the others are already inside" Seonghwa showed his phone, but it was only close enough for Wooyoung to see.
"Oh thank god, cause I could use a fucking drink."
"Me too my friend, me too."
Once they got inside, it was nothing short of a true frat party! loud music booming from every corner, a bowl of condoms, a bowl of most likely spiked fruit punch, random bowls of chips, a plate of special brownies and of course the fully stocked bar.
There was a cup system in place so that everyone knew your status, this was implemented into most parties so that there were no incidents; red meant single, gold meant it's complicated, silver meant either taken or not interested, and black meant you were a frat or sorority member.
Felix always chose between red or silver, and it always depended on if he was in the mood to deflect drunk assholes or not. Today he went for silver, not really having the energy to talk to randos and wants to focus on having a good time with his friends. Wooyoung picked up red though, feeling in the mood to be laid.
As the night progressed, drinks were drank, and the music somehow got even louder, Felix spotted someone he had never seen before, he was holding a red cup and practically skulling it. Felix was stood to the side, watching as his friends danced closely and took some videos of them for the future memories.
Said someone walked over to Felix and smiled, holding another red cup with him.
"You look like you could use a drink, here" the strange person handed one of the red cups to Felix, but once he looked inside he sighed.
"I'm allergic to yeast, so I can't have beer" Felix shook his head and tried his best to be polite considering beer was the most easily accessible drink and this man didn't know of his allergies.
"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know" the man took a few steps back in fear of what Felix may say next.
"Are you new? I've never seen you at these?" Felix walked closer to the strange yet totally hot person and asked. A strong wift of what could only be described as nature hit his nose and it made him gulp, he smelt good, like really good.
"Ah no, I actually go to Jongsung. My name is Chan and that's my friend Yeosang eating chips" Chan pointed to a another strange person who was grabbing himself a handful of chips.
Jongsung? oh hell no!
"What are you doing here at a Yeontan party? you have to show your Yeontan ID to get in" Felix said rather rudely after finding out they weren't from Yeontan.
Chan looked a little taken aback, but he totally understood why. Yeontan and Jongsung students haven't really been on the best of terms ever since the incident.
The people involved were defiantly punished for it, but it left Jongsung with a bad rep and quite a few people transferred over to Yeontan because they felt unsafe.
"I'm sorta friends with one of the frat guys, Jisung, and he let me and my friend Yeosang in"
"Your friends with Han Jisung? he never told me that the little shit!"
"I'm guessing your friends with him then"
"yeah, he's in my friend group,..." Felix turned his head at the sound of a loud scream, face palming when it was just drunk Wooyoung almost falling over. "For fucks sake Woo, please excuse me" Felix walked away from a smirking Chan, kinda glad he no longer had to talk to someone from Jongsung. Like he was hot, but was he hot enough to not be from Yeontan?
"Taehyung! why did you give him another vodka cranberry, you know how he gets when he has vodka" Felix was so annoyed that Jisung let Jongsung students in that he could no longer enjoy himself.
"Don't blame me, it was Hyunjin who gave them to us. I saved him from falling by the way!"
"Well wheres Hyunjin then? cause this party kinda sucks!"
The next day Felix's phone was met with a bunch of un-read messages, considering he turned it off off when he and Wooyoung left the party early.
Wooyoung had gotten a little too drunk, and Felix wanted to leave anyway so he happily took Wooyoung back to their dorm where Woo convinced Felix for some late night cuddles.
Beautiful sluts bunch
Jisung - Where did you and Woo run off to? I didn't see you last night!
Taehyung - Yeah man you totally took off after Woo's almost slip
Jisung - Almost slip?
Taehyung - Woo almost fell over and crushed his leg, but I saved him
Seonghwa - come on guys I'm sure they have a good reason
Jimin - They better cause I lost my dancing partner
Yoongi - It is way too fucking early for my phone to be making this much noise
Hyunjin - I feel you Yoons, my head hurts like a bitch!
Jimin - Too many wet pussy shots am I right 🤣🤣
Jisung - Are they even awake?
Felix - Yes I'm awake you shithead, but Woo's sleeping so shush with all the messages
Seungmin - Where did you go? Sungie and I missed you
Felix - Woo got like falling over drunk so I took him home, plus I wasn't feeling it and kinda wanted to go myself
Seonghwa - That's fine, I hope Youngie is ok?
Felix - I mean I might have to help him throw up but other than that I think he will be fine
Jimin - Aw sending my love
Taehyung - Yeah me too!
Yoongi - I send my love too if it will get you all to stop texting and let me sleep!
Hyunjin - Feed him western breakfast food it's a great hangover cure
Felix - GUYS HE'S NOT DYING CHILL
"Lixie?..." Felix turned his head when he heard a small whimper from next to him.
"Morning gorgeous, how you feeling?" Felix sat up and helped Wooyoung to sit up as well.
"I think I might be sick, oh god" that was Felix's cue to rush both of them into the bathroom, and order McDonalds with one hand and softly rub Wooyoung's back with the other.
Later that day after all his classes had finished for the day was when Felix decided to confront Jisung about Chan.
Felix just never grasped how some people could hang out with them. Ever since the incident last year both Felix and Woo never wanted anything to do with Jongsung again.
Sungie 💚💚
Felix - Since when are you friends with people from Jongsung?
Jisung - Oh so you met Chan last night, I meant to tell you
Felix - Ok and?
Jisung - Felix, not everyone from Jongsung is a bad person. Chan and I went to the same high school he's a cool dude
Felix - Does he know what happened?
Jisung - I'm not sure, it's not really something I wanted to bring up. We just hang out sometimes and I've rapped on a few of his tracks
Felix - Look I'm sorry ok! It's just what happened to Woo, and I live with him so I'm the one calming him down from episodes or comforting his nightmares, it fucked him up Sungie
Jisung - Trust me, I wouldn't wish that even on my enemies, but only 2 people were involved, not the whole fucking student body of Jongsung
Felix - I'll try my best ok
Felix didn't see Chan again until next weekend, at yet another frat party, he assumed Jisung let him in again.
It took all Felix had to not ask why he didn't go to his own university's party, instead he smiled and said hello like a normal person.
"Felix! we need to stop meeting here like this" Chan had that smirk on again, and Felix partnered along with his blush. As much as he didn't like Jongsung he couldn't lie and say Chan was ugly or that Chan didn't wanna make him suck his dick.
"Yeah I know, a little weird right?" Felix tried his best to keep his cool, but he knew that Chan could see his blush. His face was so red anyone could see it from a mile away.
"I got you a drink, don't worry it's just rum n coke, I remembered" Chan winked as he handed over the cup. Felix's insides did a little backflip, he remembered I can't have beer? oh my...
"You scent, it's pretty strong" Chan commented, leaning against the wall for support.
"Uh...yeah, I have a condition..." Felix nervously answered, and kept it vague because he only met Chan last week and didn't wanna tell him his sob story just yet.
"Maybe we should get some ice-cream sometime?" Chan joked, considering Felix's scent was coconut
"Hmm, maybe, but lets dance first" Felix didn't know what came over him, maybe it was the fireball shots Jimin somehow convinced everyone to do. But as he pulled Chan over to the dance floor, all his worries seemed to go away.
Felix even introduced Chan to Wooyoung, who was too busy grinding against Jimin and making out to notice. But Felix just assumed it was Woo being Woo, he always loved to makeout when drunk and Jimin was known as the guy who was down for anything so.
Over the next few days, besides going to class and the endless hours of dance practice, Felix spent his time thinking about Chan. He was so annoyed with himself with how much he was thinking about him but it was hard not to.
It may have been wrong for Felix to completely write off Jongsung when Jisung was right, only 2 students were involved with the incident but it was just so hard to not blame the school. Especially when the incident happened on school grounds.
Which was why it was plaguing his mind even more how Chan was able to get him to bring down his walls, and in a short matter of time no less.
"So, you like him?" Hyunjin queried, while taking a sip of his chocolate frappuccino.
"I didn't say that-" Felix tried to protest.
"The blush on your face says otherwise" Jimin smirked, taking a sip of his matcha frappuccino.
It seemed Felix was the only one who got a hot drink, his hands slightly shaking as he went to grab his piping americano.
"Chill everyone let the poor boy speak!" Seonghwa sighed, sometimes he hated being the mom friend but at other times he knew he had to be otherwise the whole friendship group would be an absolute mess.
"Thanks Hwa-Hyung, I don't know if I like like him, but I don't hate him and it's messing with me. Cause on one hand I'm like he's bad he's from Jongsung and on the other hand I'm like but he wasn't one of them plus he's hot as fuck and I had a wet dream the other night about sucking his dick" Felix ranted, but was thankful he was finally able to get that out.
"Could it be pre heat? I know when mine hits my emotions get all weird" Wooyoung asked.
"No, I'm not due for another two weeks, so it's not that" Felix pondered, his seasonly heat always came towards the end of the season, and it was only the start of August.
"Well what ever you decide just know I'll be here for you, we all will be" Wooyoung put one arm around Felix and pulled him in for a side hug, which was very welcomed in this situation.
"Of course we will, we love you always" Seonghwa added on, giving a sweet smile.
"Are we planning anything tonight? I kinda wanna go out" Wooyoung asked.
"On a Tuesday?" Felix laughed and shook his head.
"Not out out just like a movie or something?"
"I can't, Tuesdays are one of my stream days remember?" Jimin declined, considering the streams were how he made his money.
"Ew you and your streams" Wooyoung shook his head and decided to not ask any further, even though he watched majority of his streams and commented for moral support.
"You wouldn't be "ewing" me if you knew how much money I'm making" Jimin smirked, he knew his friends were ok with him being a camboy, they even watched but they never wanted to participate.
"I just texted Taehyung what you told us and he said that you most probably like him, and that you should most defiantly suck his dick but only if he promises to suck yours after" Hyunjin showed his phone and Felix only whined.
"Hyungggggggggggggggg."

Donald and Douglas ranch au headcanons
Main Post
Focus Chapter
Playlist :D
Some of these also kind of apply to my interpretation of canon. Well, actually most of them but that's a whole different thing.
Backstory: {redacted] [redacted] fire, mistaken placement of blame, [redacted] (You thought you coudl get spoilers? Gotta read the fic for that lol!)
Donald is older then Douglas. But Douglas acts slightly more mature so it evens out. Kind of.
Donald is quicker to anger, but Douglas builds his fury until he snaps (hard). Donald is also better at letting loose aand Douglas is more serious.
Donald is way more social and outgoing then Douglas. Donald knows way more about things like movies or local gossip. Douglas prefers keeping it quiet with a nice book, and lets his twin do the chattering. They both like a good prank though- they'll often pretend to be each other, especially if they know someone can't see their nametags.
Hownstly the easiest way to tell them apart (they like to match whenever possible) is by their reaction to a prank. Donald will prank you back but Douglas will just take and move on with his day. But he'll join in on it if Donald thinks up soemthing though.
they once went camping with the others, and shared a tent (along with Oliver and Duck). The twins went to sleep normally and woke up having tangled themselves into a literal pretzel of limbs and both Duck and Oliver were Not Very Happy because they'd also managed to shove the other two into the far corner.
They tend to sit back to back, or side by side wheenver possible- bit of a side effect from having to go on the run to get to Sodor with threat of permanant seperation. They don't mind working apart, it's part of their job after all, but they get a bit ants if they haven't heard from the other in a while. Especially if the other is going off the island for something. They try to check in with each other at least once a day, even if it's just to swap funny happenings from the day's events. The second Sir Topham Hatt knows this and will sometimes slip in a job that takes one past the other.
the singing. Oh gosh the singing. They know so many songs. They've picked up sea shanties from the sailors at the docks, country songs from working on ranches, folk songs from locals, pop songs from the radio. They're actually fairly good singers, but if you want quiet you won't get it from them. Douglas can actually play the bagpipes, and Donald picks up the accordian after coming to Sodor, so it's never quiet in their room, rest in peace Duck who's right next door. They sing while working a lot, and they only really stop singing if they're not feeling great or something's wrong.
which was why they only really started it with the singing after being signed under contract to the North Western.
they also like to sing sea shanties while shoveling snow. Keeps them in time and at a good steady pace. And it helps keep them warm, too.
probably won't write this in, but TTTE season 21 "Love Me Tender" sort of has an equivalent. Once, the twins were shoveling the snow and got into a disagreement over where to go. They split up, but Douglas soon found himself stuck in a snowdrift and unable to get out. At some point, Donald realized he still had Douglas' water falsk clipped ot his belt, and went back to find him, luckily finding him after a good bit of looking.
Donald uses DIlly like an emotional support duck. Because she is that breed of duck known for having big white bellies and Donald is a lot more stressed then he looks, between running every which way to take goods somewhere or fix a broken wheel axle.
Douglas doesn't have a pet he just sometimes borrows Dilly for the day. He likes going to the Vicarstown Public Library and taking out books about Donald Duck to read to Dilly.
also have a few random piccrews I made of the twins :D (I can't decide if I want them to have black or red hair, I'm thinking black but red is also an option...)

3, 14, and 18 for the fic writer asks?
3. Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic
Hoo boy, what a question! Ok, my process, such as it is: usually I get some kind of idea. From a song, from a prompt, from something completely random... it starts with a kernel. When I decide to pursue an idea, I either dive in—for a one shot, less than 5k—or I start plotting everything out in a brief summary form. I have a bunch of these, ideas fully plotted out, that may or may not ever see the light of day. Eventually, when I start writing a fic, I usually start after the beginning and work more or less linearly, although I occasionally jump around a bit. Usually while I'm writing a fic there are some points where things aren't quite figured out, some sticky point that gives me trouble, and those I typically think about and work out while I'm driving to or from work, lol. I think that pretty much encapsulates the "creative" part of things, the rest is just banging it out.
14. How do you write emotional scenes? Do you ever feel what the characters feel? Do you draw from personal experiences?
Ooh, another good one! I do try to put myself in the characters' positions, although rarely I'm able to draw from personal experience. I just haven't experience that much drama in my life lol. I will say that for the really emotional shouting match emotional confessions I usually write out all the dialogue first without any description. It's like I can hear all the emotions in my head but I can't quite get the description of it out at first... it takes me a bit to figure out how to properly express it, the nuance of describing what characters are doing and feeling.
18. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?
Sometimes a fic starts with a title—usually only the ones that come from a song inspiration the first place, though. For others, sometime early on I go searching for a title just so I have something to title the document when I save it lol. I usually have some part of the fic I want to emphasize, a feeling or a plot point, and I search my music library for things that might suit. Sometimes I find the perfect title that just feels like it fits. For those there's this moment of yessssss where it's just super satisfying lol. Other times I find something that kind of works, and it's fine but doesn't get the yesss moment. Every once in a while I find a title that isn't explicitly tied to the plot but I just have to use it because of the song's vibes. Some good examples of this are The Hardest Cut, White Knuckles, and most recently Nova, Baby. I definitely have some titles I love and some that I'm kind of meh about. Almost all my titles are song titles or lyrics.
Thanks so much for asking!

i feel like a lot of keepblrers would enjoy the hollow star saga (a dark and hollow star, a cruel and fated light, a grim and sunken vow). it's basically kotlc if kotlc was canonically gay. (warning: long rant ahead, if you're interested. this is going to seem very negative, but i promise i'll talk about the positives, too.)
there are four main characters, arlo, nausicaa, aurelian, and vehan.
arlo is basically sophie when it comes to personality. like. she's kinda the most generic female ya protagonist that's sort of shy and gets pushed around a lot except for when the author decides 'hey, she needs to stand up for herself' at random points. then she'll randomly snark for two lines and go back to being the protagonist that kinda lowkey has no distinctive personality traits. she's also clearly the author's bias. you will see what i mean if you look through the chapters. just like sophie, she spends most of the first book being scared of the council.
nausicaa is basically keefe if keefe was a lesbian. she has that snarky, bad-girl vibe and is kind of a loose canon and doesn't care about anything except her love interest (arlo). this of course means she's the fan favorite (i really don't like her, but i don't tend to like characters like keefe so i'm biased as hell don't listen to me). when i tell you she's exactly like keefe (in terms of personality). like. i want you to know that she's exactly like keefe. their senses of humor are comically similar.
aurelian gives off tam vibes, if tam was more central to the story (and white). looking in from the outside you'd be like 'omg what a broody man. what emo thoughts are going through his head. why is he looking at me like that. i'm going to sink into the ground, he clearly hates me. i probably shouldn't piss him off, he'd probably kill me.' and then you see his thoughts and he's just the most average guy out there. like. he's just a normal guy but everyone (including the author) sees him as this emo and broody guy that just glares constantly and is really standoff-ish.
another thing about nausicaa and aurelian is that the author really tries to get you to buy into the fact that they have this intense rivalry, but it falls so flat because they barely interact and it’s so one-sided. very tell-not-show. does that remind you of a certain dynamic in kotlc? that’s right, it’s keefe and tam.
vehan is the one main character that i really can't say is exactly like a character from kotlc but to me he's what fitz could've been if shannon hadn't mangled and massacred him. he's kinda pathetic, ngl. like sopping wet rag vibes. but also he's really sweet. a true cinnamon roll. he spends a lot of time dragging aurelian places and trying not to piss aurelian off because he thinks aurelian hates him (i'll give you one guess who his love interest is). also the author randomly tries to make him flirty at one point and it was so funny how much it didn't work for his character.
and even in other aspects besides the characters, i want you to know that this series is basically just kotlc. the characters are fae, so they are all young and beautiful, they have powers, there's an abusive mother that’s evil but her son doesn’t realize she’s evil, the plot is convoluted as hell and takes way too long to get to the point, the world is described as bright and colorful, the sense of humor is just like the sense of humor in kotlc (which is personally not my favorite but i digress), the author spends a ludicrous amount of time in one character's head really drilling into the audience how much he has a crush on this other character, the incessant use of italics every other word and of course the all-white cast except for a few people here and there.
there's a ridiculous amount of lore that gets introduced in the first book alone, and i think people in this fandom would have a lot of fun with that, too (even if some of the lore is highly, highly irrelevant).
also this author's writing sin is definitely info-dumping. when i say their fatal flaw is info-dumping i want you to know i'm not fucking around when i say that. they will just info-dump a whole couple pages, and the information never becomes relevant. and it happens a lot (this is the author's debut so that might be the reason). here's an example of a massive info-dump:
Tumblr media
(none of the above ever becomes relevant, in case you're wondering.)
there are good things too, though. like i'd definitely say that the hollow star saga is better than kotlc. there is a character i like named celadon who eventually becomes more central to the plot. all i'll say about him right now is that he's arlo's cousin and the relationship between him and arlo is genuinely endearing in some aspects. some plot twists were pretty well executed and the second book is absolutely better than the first. this author's strength is definitely backstories. the backstories, especially in the second book, are pretty solid.
only two books are out right now and the third is coming out soon (late november, if i'm not wrong) and i'm dying to read it. the author said the entire series will only be four books, i think, but i don't really trust authors when they say stuff like that anymore so. we'll see i guess.
and if all that wasn’t enough to convince you, i offer you this one final piece of motivation: at one point, nausicaa makes a twilight reference.
basically what i'm saying is: you should read the hollow star saga.

It might be too early to ask this, given the fic isn't finished being published yet, but I'd love to pick your brain about how it was for you to write such a long fic.
I also wrote one that grew a life of its own around the halfway mark lol. What have you learned from writing it? Anything that was super difficult at first but got easier over time? What advise would you give to Past You when they wrote the first sentence? Anything you'd do differently?
lol i apologize i opened the floodgates and all of these words fell out!
THIS IS A GREAT ASK, SO THANK YOU.
in order:
i learned SO MUCH during this process (seriously, i am eagerly waiting for star wars trivia night to come back to our local bar, because i'm pretty sure that i'd win this year). odd bits of star wars lore! a whole bunch about food! what the inside of my eyeballs look like 8 or 9 hours into an intensive revision session! but from a technical standpoint, i think what i learned that will help me the most going forward in writing projects is the benefit of outlining a project and referencing the outline as i go through the project. this probably won't come as a surprise, but projects often mutate and grow on me in the middle -- or the beginning -- or the second middle -- or the very end when i should be done but definitely have to pursue another errant thought -- and if i don't have the major plot points already charted out, i can pretty easily lose the thread of the plot and therefore the motivation to keep going. with ast, the initial outline has been a godsend, even though the plot has grown and shifted as the fic has gone on. the major points i wanted to hit were already written down, so it was a lot easier to maintain focus on this project than on some others.
boba's voice was actually super fucking difficult for me to get and present consistently, especially early on in the fic when din is trying to get a read on him! i had a really hard time deciding how i wanted boba to sound and talk and think and act -- at the point of most of my worldbuilding and outlining, there really wasn't a ton of boba in canon and legends/the eu can be a mess and also wildly inconsistent, so i didn't have much to go on. i think i probably have five or six drafts of the first couple of chapters from boba's pov in the depths of my ast folder, trying to build a consistent tone. (also, not pursuing every scrap of detail that was interesting to me was very difficult, and is part of the reason why ast includes probably 50-75k alone in, like, descriptions of food or tusken culture or random asides about din's childhood with paz and annika.)
honestly, i would tell Past Me to unclench and try not to worry so much about making it perfect. a lot of delays in the revision process have come from Obsessively Reworking Things in order to make up for pouring so much of my internal mess (didn't know i had that much religious trauma, to be honest!) into the fic, and i probably didn't need to stress myself out that much.
oof okay. this is really tough. part of me says "yes, absolutely," because i feel like i really did go haring off down some avenues that i probably shouldn't have, for the sake of condensing the plot. i could and maybe should have pared down some of the tusken and ahra stuff to focus more tightly on the mandalore stuff. the other part of me says "no, absolutely not," because i have had an enormous amount of fun working on this project!! i have learned so much and really ignited my passion for learning things again -- i have actually read nonfiction books that aren't about fish this year, which is huge for me -- and i've rekindled some of my affection for writing (which is good, considering... how much writing has gone into this thing) and also my love for star wars, which is HUGE. i was a very small fry in the star wars fandom circa 2008-2010, around the time that the clone wars was coming out and the fandom was... being itself... and i was really excited to come back in 2015, but around that time i felt like there wasn't much room in the fandom for me between the ship wars and the everything else, so i stayed out. it has been really, really nice to come back, lol, and to settle into a niche that so far has been pretty chill, so. no, i think, i'm good with the way things shook out for ast! not much i'd change at this point, except maybe somehow making ao3 count one word for every two?

-CHAPTER 16 OF THE END OF THE WORLD SPOILERS - NOT SURE IF IT'S NECESSARY BUT IT JUST FEELS RIGHT-
I feel like there are others curious about this as well, but what was your thought process behind the kiss scene? Did you think of it when you were just planning out the story or did it come up later? Did the idea surprise/terrify you at first? (i'm beginning to sound like i'm obsessed with it but it's just the last thing i expected of the fic so it delights me endlessly lol) It would actually be cool to know more about the trials and tribulations of how the writing process for the whole chapter went, so if you're willing to share, pleaseee?
(also a random one, but how old is ootsuki?)
Ootsuki is 23. I'll put the rest under the cut~
The kiss was actually something I decided on very early and then debated whether I should get rid of a million times, because yeah, it's out of my comfort zone to write about teenage (non-)romance, and it's so at risk of being taken the wrong way in several different ways. If I hadn't had 3 people with very different perspectives beta-read it and tell me they got what I was going for, I probably would've found some lame way to chicken out of it.
Anyway, the reason I decided to go down that route was that I have a rule that every canon scene with Shou must go in the fic. By no means do you have to make adaptations that way, and there are things later on I'll twist a bit, but I like rules and challenges, so there.
This meant I had to do something with that fucking maid café scene, which, let's be frank, is very gay. It's a weak joke and has no purpose other than to be gay fan service. So what can you do with that? I could either pretend it isn't gay and didn't happen (glaring at ONE here), I could lean into it and make it the start of something romantic, which would derail the themes of this particular story, or I could use it to support my points about all manner of relationships often being weird and difficult and full of mistakes that are sometimes forgivable and sometimes not.
Shou and Ritsu try to figure out if it's a big deal to kiss someone, but there are other more or less explicitly romantic-leaning relationships in this fic, none of which feature any kissing, and meanwhile the person who is the most blatantly physically affectionate with Shou is so in a way that's 100% platonic, and meanwhile, I've given Shou very strange reactions to multiple of the grown-ups in his life which, on a surface-level, you'll often find in fanfic/young adult fiction as cues that something romantic is going on (blushing, stuttering, general awkwardness) although I sincerely hope it's clear that's not where I'm going with that either. I don't know, I just find it very interesting to dig my claws into that whole mess.
But you asked about the writing process, and it wasn't really the kiss that forced me to rewrite chapter 16 like 8 times, but rather that A) I knew Okura had to be in the chapter, but wasn't sure how to use him, and B) I had to construct a scenario where Ritsu would not flip the fuck out and never talk to Shou again after being told about the burning dummy corpses. (Also a lot of other things I don't remember anymore since some of those rewrites happened long ago)
When you have long chapters like this, if you want it to feel cohesive and avoid mood whiplash, you have to pick one high tension point that everything else can build up to. In this one, I wanted the kiss to be that point, which was really fucking difficult with so much other drama happening around it. I don't have enough experience with writing to have a great feel for these things when I have to write them myself, so it was a loop of trying one approach, asking someone, "does it work now?", them saying no and making some suggestions, rinse and repeat.
