Ulysses obsession with the Courier is a special type of sad to me cause the Courier’s part was so important but so unwitting. They had no idea what was in the package they delivered and neither did he. Neither had an idea of what it could’ve done and the Courier was only caring out their job (mind you the Courier could be killed via notes in the express contract if they don’t). To them it was just another regular delivery to the divide and one that they likely thought would help, just like all the ones before.

It’s so tragic for Ulysses to hold so much ire to the Courier when it really was the case of it could’ve been anyone. Anyone could have delivered that package but they did and so he focused the blame on them and it destroys what he is trying to instill in the courier on a fundamental level.

#like yeah the courier delivered the package but in the end that’s a job #any random courier could’ve delivered it especially since we know in the past the factions were farther apart and this travel was a smidge #safer but courier six got it and this Ulysses blamed them #like I don’t care much for Ulysses because I think lonesome road embodies don’t shoot the messenger at it core #and what people focus on doesn’t focus on the fact that in the bigger picture #everything went wrong because two factions were at war and at some point the codes would have been delivered #and the divide destroyed cause with how close it is to NCR territory it would of been found #like there is an inevitable and too many people treat Ulysses as if he knows more or is more aware of the idiosyncrasies of conflict #when he’s like fundamentally flawed just at the standard of being a legion apologist STILL and just how focused he is on one persons #involvement cause yeah choices matter even the small one but I think Veronica’s quest says it best with a line from the courier #you can’t control what they do #like the courier couldn’t and can’t control what they deliver and yet it’s got them in hot water multiple times #like do you think they enjoy being shot or knowing they are indirectly responsible for activating the annihilation of a community #to me it’s hypocrisy to be willing to end the world or one world to prove a point and whatever argument made that only military factions #suffer forget there are innocent civilians suffering that had no part and Ulysses is no better than the Courier #I don’t like devils advocate and a lot of the dlc just feels like that but idk I know people love it but the depth is just not there for mr #ulysses fnv #fallout #fallout new vegas #courier six #the courier #lonesome road #the courier has very little personality outside what we give them but some lines and delivery paint a picture #like uhhhh undertale deltarune rules ig

Yep! I'm super excited for it! Really looking forward to it because I've actually managed to draw something this year (I do feel bad about not personally participating in previous years) and I'm hoping to get another thing done for it. And yes it's on June 16th, where it will remain every year that I do this (for clarity's sake, that way no one is stuck thinking it's that day if I were to change it to another). I will be doing this perhaps every year until the end of time (I do not plan to die).

I hope a bunch of people will be able to participate again this year. :>

dating when you're a shonen character must be so hard because all of your formative experiences are so tied into what happened when you and your friends had the Big Plot Events going on. how would you even comprehend sharing that with someone outside of your circle

#i guess it's easier for shinigami characters in bleach or shinobi characters in naruto because these are common occupatonal occurences #but i'm mainly thinking about ichigo/orihime/uryu/chad and their extremely specific histories #that could never translate into something understandable to an outsider – say. an oc – they're dating #for better or for worse some people are just going to be the only people that 'get it' having been there for the 'it' in question #you can't put it into words. you don't want to either so you stick to the people who don't NEED you to explain it to them #that's a dynamic that's interesting to me – especially when you consider that those 4 know more about each other than their own families do #their civilian/other lives are entwined; they fight together but they also hang out frequently #i don't like freely using the term 'found family' but there's really no other explanation for it #for better or for worse but mostly out of necessity these people WILL be in each other's lives at least tangentially until they die #it would be way easier for me to picture hisagi dating some random shinigami oc than say. URYU.#<- not because he's awkward or aloof but simply because i don't see him being able to explain being a quincy to them #much less explain the time he and ichigo wanted to strap zangetsu to their foreheads to defeat a gillian/menos/whatever

At one point I think you said if Ander saw Sahota as he is now, he wouldn't realize it was himself at first. I've been wondering, would any of the main crew recognize Ander as Sahota if they saw him?

not at first, especially if Current Sahota was still with them, since the sudden appearance of a younger version of your trainer isn't exactly something they'd expect ahaha

after getting a good look at him, most of them would think he looks very similar to Sahota, and draw the conclusion that they're cousins or brothers

As a tool like any other tool yeah i think it could be useful. We use tools in everything but we still do the actual work. Not the tools doing the whole work for us.

We are talking about AI art, which isn't art in my eyes because it literally takes from already existing art, most of the time without premission aka stealing and then someone just sits and writes punch of promts on some website that makes the "art". That's not art! That's programming, if even that! And not to mention, AI art just looks bad. It's all very generic looking, the longer you look at it the more mistakes and flaws you see that human artist wouldn't make, much of it has that uncanny valley feel and it just doesn't have soul. As an artist when i look at AI art i see nothing, there's no emotions nor intention, no heart, it's cold.

The biggest fear is the AI art taking real artists' jobs. That's so scary and defeating feeling that i do not want to happen. We all know that if big companies & corporations could replace artists with AI and cut costs while getting more work/products done and lessen human management and gain profit, a lot of them would take that. Because if you give the capitalist self-profit centered company a finger, they will take the whole arm and toss rest of you away

Would you like an egg in this trying time?

This is cavegg01.

You may recognize it from the first set of rooms in Artaria, particularly where the counterattack tutorial takes place. This is a muzby egg, and it's the vessel from which muzby grubs are born into the world.

You can see muzby eggs in the background of the tutorial itself. In this shot, they're in the background below the muzzle of Samus' arm cannon.

But that's not all: there's a cavegg02, and—get this—it features two eggs. The smaller one's a bit dented on top, but we pay that no mind: this is a background asset, so we wouldn't notice that during normal gameplay.

Something interesting to note is that the egg models are hollow, likely to save space on the cartridge or to give the game less to render, allowing those cutscene transitions between maps to end quicker.

Wham, double feature! You thought I'd show you the eggs, but not the babies inside them? Nay! Muzbabies be upon you!

The grubs are orange, and their bodies grow pink near the extremities. It has a tiny head, dark pink in coloration, and mandibular structures that remind me of the grubs of real-life goliath beetles. They appear to lack eyes.

When Samus approaches the grubs, they hide behind their large forelegs. Adorable! And smart. These grubbies aren't being eaten today!

The model for this creature is called bigfistgrub. Its textures are simply labeled with "grub". "bigfist" is the internal name for the muzby, which is featured in this article on the official website for Metroid Dread (The website is now down, but fortunately, the Wayback Machine and Wikitroid have our backs!). Given that these babies are called grubs, I'd wager they pupate at some point during their life cycle, transforming into the lumbering pink pals we see in Artaria.

Speaking of Muzby...

That's right! Triple whammy.

Of the humble Muzby, MercurySteam says:

Muzby This terrestrial creature with heavy arms is one of the larger lifeforms on Artaria. It drags its arms behind as it walks. Because it dwells and has evolved in darkness, a Muzby doesn’t have the equivalent to a face. It has tough, rugged skin and high endurance, so high-powered attacks like the Missile or Charge Beam are effective. Samus can also slide between its legs when it lifts its arms to attack.

Muzby may not have a "real" face, but it does appear to have little mouth parts with mandibles in the front. Given the developers' description, I'd hazard a guess and say the muzby is blind. If those spots on its face aren't proper eyes, they may be sensory organs of a different stripe. Perhaps they process olfactory information, or sense heat. Maybe they exist to fool other creatures into thinking the muzby can see them when approached from this end, like eyespots on the wings of the Polyphemus moth?

The muzby also has nubby feelers atop this segment of the body. Perhaps the muzby uses them to sense vibrations in the environment, or maybe these organs release pheromones. Who knows!

The muzby has two huge arms on one end of its body, and a pair of smaller limbs on the other. It carries two pairs of even shorter arms behind the mid-sized set: you can see them curled up behind the animal's small "head".

The article says the muzby has a tough hide, and its exterior certainly doesn't appear to be overly chitinous. The muzby reminds me of a soft-shelled crab in this respect, especially considering the layout of the underbelly.

In-game, the muzby attacks by turning so that its large arms are facing the threat, then rearing up on its hind legs, slamming its big meaty appendages down on the opponent. It doesn't seem to have any trouble navigating in either direction.

Muzby: a beautiful creature with very cute babies!
