"The more MacLean has wandered from ballrooms and the glittering world of society, the more she's found her stride, perfecting a way of storytelling that blends wit, grit, and the subversive promise of radical women and the men who love them."
Entertainment Weekly reviews Sarah MacLean's Heartbreaker

you know what? normalize ruthlessly mocking men’s interests completely unprovoked the same way they’ve spent years mocking pumpkin spice lattes and pop music and animal crossing and the sims and every other completely harmless thing women often enjoy. I Love Revenge

I feel like we need to start really pushing for hate crimes against women to actually be treated as such. It's fucking insane that a man can beat/rape/murder a woman, call her sexist slurs during the attack, and then tell the police and press that he did it because he hates women, but somehow this isn't considered a hate crime. The only reason places don't want to do it is because there's so many that it would mean like 90% of hate crime victims would be women (literally the reason the uk gave for not doing it a few years back)
It's extra crazy because wasn't it something like 80% of mass murderers have a history of harrasment and violence against women and girls? You would think it would be a no brainer to treat these crimes seriously to prevent these men from getting out and committing even more violent and horrific crimes, but that would mean treating women as people and not shock absorbers for society I guess.

I saw a post about how “people” are ruining ai by using it to make child pornography.
why not be a little more specific? 99.3% of child pornography offenders are men and it’s still spoken about as something people do, not something men do. whats that one quote? men love male-as-default language until it’s used to describe pedophiles and murderers.

Pregnancy is not "inconvenient"
Missing the bus is inconvenient.
Losing your purse is inconvenient
Pregnancy is intrusive, risky and life-changing and no one should have to justify not wanting to go through it.

You don't see transmen overwhelmingly bogarting their way into male spaces, locker rooms, group therapy, gay clubs, or demanding that males stop talking about their anatomy and life experiences. You don't see 5'4" transmen threatening to beat up 6' cismales in a bathroom, or trying to worm their way into men's shelters.
And you know full well why.

Women do not owe you anything. We do not owe you access to our bodies. We do not owe you access to our emotional labour. We do not owe you attraction. We do not owe you acceptance to our spaces or opportunities.
Women do not owe you anything.

I'm gonna say something mildly controversial lol.
Depictions of female rage never resonated with me. And no it's not because I'm not white or conventionally attractive blah blah.
It's because depictions of male rage focus on portraying the RESULT of the rage vs female rage portraying the woman herself.
Like think about it, every revenge movie with a man has extensive shots of him in action and you see the "evil people" (men and women) beaten up or shown justice.
But female rage often depicted as pretty women with blood all over them and even if they're beating up villains, the camera just stays focused on their visuals. I'd rather see the men they beat up and take revenge on than a shot that's meant to look pretty.

Andrea Dworkin's classic Beauty Hurts diagram from Woman Hating (1974), updated for modern procedures, fifty years later.
A first step in the process of liberation (women from their oppression, men from the unfreedom of their fetishism) is the radical redefining of the relationship between women and their bodies. The body must be freed, liberated, quite literally: from paint and girdles and all varieties of crap. Women must stop mutilating their bodies and start living in them. Perhaps the notion of beauty which will then organically emerge will be truly democratic and demonstrate a respect for human life in its infinite, and most honorable, variety. —Andrea Dworkin, Woman Hating (1974)
