so i was scrolling thru comments from a particular youtube video (that time everyone hated aang vid) and i saw a lot of people REALLY hated aang like theyre not even trying to hide it. Basically the vid was about when appa was stolen and aang got angry at toph (hes angry at everyone in this whole episode come on guys wtf). Some were blaming aang and questioning his actions. Like being a kid is not an excuse for his behavior. and omy god was i annoyed. The lack of basic empathy and common sense of aang antis really baffles me like wtf yall cant be serious
A lot of aang antis really forget the fact that aang was just a KID. A 12 yr old kid! I just dont get why these people hold him in a high pedestal as if aang cant display flaws and mistakes. No one has ever said that what aang did was right. Yes he’s wrong for blaming toph however, as viewers we are given the chance to understand each character and why they do things to better make sense of their development and their character as a whole. But obviously, aang antis dont understand that. This episode made us frustrated with aang but it also made us empathize with him. He did not lash out out of nowhere. Aang was feeling all different kinds of emotions at that moment because appa was STOLEN and he wasnt event there to save him. Like? did we even watch the same show? Yall hating on aang and calling him immature when his companion (mind you that appa is not just some pet), his last connection to his past, was stolen and probably in danger.
You cant really expect him to be calm and level headed because humans are mostly overdriven by their emotions than logic. How dense can u be to argue that aang could at least be reasonable when IN FACT the whole situation wasnt even offering a space for him to be REASONABLE. He blamed toph, yes. Was he right? no. But it is understandable and even the gaang understood that. Toph understood that. And aang mostly didnt even mean what he said because again, he’s acting out of frustration and anger that, any normal people or just people in general, would do in such circumstances. Yall really depriving aang the emotion that he deserves to feel. It’s either hes too young or too old to do anything right for yall. Aang was just a kid, a kid whose got the responsibility of ending a century-long war and saving the world. He’s allowed to make mistakes and have flaws but constantly hating him for it as if he didnt learn from them.. was not it. As if we didnt even watch the same show and watch the same ending. This fandom needs to give this boy a break. Hes literally being hated for something that every character has: a flaw. That, or just made up shit about his character just to justify their hate for him.
