Why Has Allah Resembled The Dunya To Water?

“Set forth to them the similitude of the life of this world: It is like the water (rain) which we send down from the skies:..” (Surah Al-Kahf:45)

Imam Al-Qurtubi رحمه الله said:

The wise ones have stated:

1. The water does not reside in one place. Likewise, the dunya does not remain in one state.

2. It is because water goes and it does not remain. Likewise, the dunya comes to an end and it does not remain.

3. It is because no one has the ability to enter into it and not get wet. Likewise, with regards to the dunya, no one is safe from the trials and tribulations of it and its harm.

4. It is because the water, if it is at a (safe) measure, it is a beneficial means of cultivation. And when it goes beyond the (safe) measure, it is a destructive harm. Likewise, in regards to the dunya, that which is sufficient, from it is beneficial; and that which is beyond the need, is a harm.

There are many ways to find time in your day to study Quran But the most important thing is to find a way that works for you and makes you happy so that you will continue studying Quran even when there isn't any specific schedule. 1. One way is to set a timer for fifteen minutes and start reading from the beginning of the Quran. 2. Read one chapter of the Quran every day. 3. Make sure to listen to an audio version of the Quran every day. 4. learn a Hadith (a saying or story about Prophet Muhammad) every day about the virtues of the Holy Quran. . . .

In this Qur’anic Verse, there are several Judgments, meanings and benefits for the servant. If the servant knows _ that misfortune can produce a desirable thing, and that the desirable thing can produce a misfortune, he would not feel secure against the harm that can come from delight, and he would not lose hope of delight to come from harm, for he does not know the outcomes of things. Verily, it is ALLAAH (سبحانه وتعالى) Who knows about that which the servant does not know.
