Mumbo and Etho were in the royal army together. It wasn't a terribly long period of time, only a few months really.

Mumbo had joined as a mission from Grian to infiltrate the royal ranks while the resistance was still in its infancy stages and in desperate need of any kind of intel. This was long before Grian had eyes and ears at every turn.

Etho was nearing a decade of service and by that point, he had enough. He had seen all of the corruption within the kingdom, how it valued power and control over everything else, even its own citizens and those who served it. He had seen it first hand. He would bear the scars of it for the rest of his life.

Their paths didn't cross much in that short period of time, it really had no reason to with their differences in rank. In fact, it was something Mumbo actively tried to avoid. He had figured that if anyone was smart enough to figure him out, it would be the kingdoms most infamous knight. And he had been right.

Now you see, Mumbo wasn't the best spy. He was, after all, young and inexperienced. It was only a matter of time before he got caught. He was only fortunate that it was Etho who found him elbow deep in important documents.

Mumbo thought for sure he was a goner, but to his surprise the feared and well known solider actually helped him. Etho made sure Mumbo got out of the castle safely with whatever information he needed, in exchange for one simple thing: a place in the resistance.

It was purely coincidence that they would end up working closely together in the end. No one had known that Etho was a highly talented engineer on top of his famed battle skill.

More Twst x pkmn!

Dustox feels almost obligatory to me atp, and Dipplin is there bc of the poison apple. The rest are there for the queen aspect of Vil’s character, tho I def considered the poison aspect too. And, side note, but his Gardevoir is definitely a male one.

Decidueye is another obvious one, as it’s a bird archer, kinda like Rook! (Rook, as in the bird.) (Also I’m just now remembering that I was thinking about giving him a Bisharp to reference the rook chess piece, but it’s not that important. Oh well) Vivillion bc it just feels like a Rook pkmn, and it’s the “High Plains” form bc Rook’s from Sunset Savanna. Zoroark is there bc I wanted a pkmn that could blend into the background like Rook could (*cough cough* stalker *cough cough*) so, Zoroark. Leavanny bc Rook is also very like, nurturing, if that makes sense. Similar vibes 👍 Swoobat bc again, it just reminded me of him, then finally Pheramosa bc I wanted Rook to have an odd pkmn. One that makes you go, “why tf do you have that?” And Ultrabeasts are a good type of pkmn for that idea. I also wanted Rook to have at least one fighting type, again for the archery thing and bc he used to be in Savannaclaw, but Pheramosa also just slays, so it’s a good Rook pkmn

For Epel, I honestly wanted to give him every single applin evo (Flapple, Appleton, even Hydrapple) but that’d take up to many slots, so he only gets Flapple. Buneary is due to his connections with bunnies in canon (this card is proof of that!) so I wanted to give him a bunny pkmn too. I feel like his buneary has been one of his oldest partners, but he doesn’t want a Lopunny, so he gave his Buneary an everstone. I feel like part of his character development would be letting Buneary evolve :). Frosmoth is cause he’s from a cold area, and I just thought it fit him. Croagunk is a poison/fighting type, and both of those are very Epel-like to me. Varoom is another poison type, but also Epel likes blastcycles, so I thought it fit. (I also realized that I should’ve given Deuce a Cyclizar, tho I’m not sure who I’d switch out, oh well) Dubwool is there mainly to fill out the rest of his team lol (maybe I should’ve given him an Applin-)

I’m not really sure what I’d explain here. Maybe that his name, Neige LeBlanche literally translates to Snow White bc Neige=Snow & Blanc(he)=White, and so Snow=Ice type? Idk, easy picks

STORYTIME: The Happy Coincidence

So back in my early twenties, 2012, 2013, I was bored one evening as the internet was down. I had zero clue Good Omens existed. I sat in bed and did a doodle and made "Jace", my elven OC. He's a space elf (alien), a spoiled talkative slightly eccentric prince who crash lands to earth and.. No spoilers lol

He has venomous fangs and he WILL bite if provoked, but likes to lick salt lamps. He's my lovely weird baby.

So what happens in 2019? Good Omens happens. Season 1, episode 1 and Crowley has his glasses off drunk rambling about Dolphins with Aziraphale and I'm staring at Crowley, like:

Me: "Jace..??? No. No, he's too old. Good looking still, wow those eyes are spot on. Still, what?!"

I made this little collage with a piece of an old 10 year old poster WITH Jace to prove it. I made my boy 6 years before Good Omens came out lol

His skin tone is clearly different but it was the red hair and eyes that got me. I had a good giggle and I still do. It makes me appreciate Crowley and Neil Gaiman even more, because it makes me feel like I nearly paralleled making a similar amazing character design created by a well renowned and respected famous author. Maybe, just maybe, it's a sign my work isn't bad either. ❤️✌️
