…“Fledgelings, this is Prince Stephan,” Hopper gestured at Steve, who winced at the use of his full name. No matter who said it, the use of his full name never failed to make him cringe.
“Steve, please,” he hurried to correct before any of the Fledgelings could be introduced. Hopper rolled his eyes again, causing Steve to press his lips tightly together, shifting slightly from his position.
Hopper gestured to the Fledgeling furthest from him, which dragged Steve’s attention back to the angry looking one. He was surprised to see that the man seemed to have gotten himself together, only looking slightly annoyed rather than furious.
The knife in his gut twisted a little more. …

WIP title is ‘year of the sunflower’! name from the album of the same name by Jake Scott!! the only relation is the title bc i thought it was a nice title.
plot is unknown, mostly. just wanted to write something for steddie in this universe because i thought it would fit. i’ll explain the ins and outs once i have enough of the story figured out :)

a/n: think i learned how to write Terry, even if I’m still figuring out his characterization in a lot of ways. Hope to post a pseudo sequel oneshot at one point focused on Rayla&Claudia Callum&Terry interactions. Enjoy!

It takes a day for the truth to come out.
They camp closer to Umber Tor than they want to, but even with him and Claudia taking turns, they can only support Viren’s deadweight for so long. He needs a place to rest and some of the medicinal herbs Claudia has in her bag, and Terry’s shoulders are sore by the time they finally find a hollowed out cave to take refuge in.
Claudia doesn’t stop fidgeting until her father wakes, after she’d poured some kind of concoction in his mouth and Viren had tossed and turned for a good few hours. Terry kisses her forehead before he leaves to forage and bring back food, tossing it into the small cooking pot he’d carried on his pack. Viren wakes before he’s done cooking, Terry tossing spare bits of foliage into Sir Sparklepuff’s waiting mouth, the little creature happily clapping his long fingers together every time he successfully catches one.
Then it’s a matter of getting Viren situated, helping him set up, Claudia laying a hand over his forehead and taking in the exhaustion of his eyes. “Nothing I didn’t feel as a young mage,” Viren assures her, his voice still a tad raspier than usual. “I suppose dark magic will take a different toll on my body, now that I’ve died. Until we make the resurrection permanent, I suppose.”
“Soon, Dad,” Claudia says, laying a hand on his arm. “Once you’re better, tomorrow, we can start making our way towards the X on Rex Igneous’ map and Terry’s glorious goofy goo.”
