Whoa you like Nuada too? I can’t pass this up! Can you please write Nuada with a reader who is cheerful individual? I like grumpy x sunshine ships 😆 I feel he wouldn’t know how to go about it and more confused when he falls for reader (Gender neutral pls)
Tumblr media
Of course I like Nuada anon! How could I not?! I’d be ashamed of myself if I didn’t.🦦 also this is long as shit. I got carried away…no I won’t apologise.
Nuada first heard of you whilst being held captive at the BRPD through Nuala, whom had met you earlier that day through your mutual love of literature. And according to his sister you were a bright, bubbly, happy and warm individual who made her feel welcomed and included the moment she came to the Bureau; even going so far as to gift her with a poetry book with a cerulean blue cover.
It was actually a personal possession of yours but due to never haven gotten to read it, you had decided that it would serve Nuala far better than it ever did you. Nuala naturally refused to accept it but, you were persistent that she’d have it as you would rather have it be well loved and read than sitting on a cold, lonely shelf collecting dust.
‘They’re such a delight to talk to brother.’ Nuala began, clutching the poetry book with the cerulean cover close to her chest as though it were a priceless treasure, which to her it very much was.
‘They’re human dear sister, this persona they’ve put on is probably a trick, an illusions of sorts to lure you into a false sense of security.’ Nuada warns, not as trusting towards humanity as Nuala was. Giving? Warm? Welcoming? These were traits that the elven prince would’ve never associated with humans. Ever. It just sounded too far fetched to think that such a kindhearted and selfless person could ever have existed. Nuada only knew humanity for their glutinous greed, so such simple acts of kindness as gifting someone a poetry book, would do very little to change his perspective on the entirety of mankind.
Nuala frowns. ‘You haven’t even met them and yet you refuse to give them a fair chance. I understand your grievances towards humans but all I ask of you, dear brother, is that you learn to trust one, even if that one happens to be y/n.’ Nuala pleaded with Nuada, holding out on a spark of hope that with your influence, Nuada’s heart will no longer be veiled in shadows. Nuala truly believed that if anyone could come close to doing just that, it would be you, she just knew it.
Nuada merely scoffs at the notion his sister has in you being the one to unveil his heart of the pain and suffering. While he may have once bended to his twins every plea, this was one he could not find himself willingly doing so and the look upon Nuala’s face told him that she was very much made aware of that fact and wordlessly left.
Nuada wouldn’t get to experience you in your entirety until the BRPD decided that Nuada was trusted to head out on missions as your partner, they too also had some inclination that your bright and sweet persona would not only run off on Nuada but also soften his resolve against all of humanity; an request that would take a lot out of you.
‘You must be Prince Nuada. It’s nice to finally put a face to the name I’ve heard so much about.’ You said, barely able to contain your excitement at finally being given a partner. Sure the stories you’ve heard about the elven prince were…less then enlightening, framing him as an angry and vengeful being incapable of change, but the ones you’ve heard from Nuala however painted Nuada as a somewhat tragic figure.
‘I can’t remember the last time I saw my brother smile, if he even smiled at all.’ Nuala would say as a saddened look came across her face before she looked over at you when you abruptly grabbed her hand, face set in serious determination.
‘I’ll try and get him to smile more for you.’ You said.
‘It’s an impossible feat.’ Nuala counters but you weren’t having any of it.
‘Then I’ll just keep trying until I do, no matter how long that may take.’ You replied, staying strong to your conviction.
‘Why. Why would you go out of your way to do something for someone you barely even know?’ Nuala asked, feeling your strength, determination, heart and more theough just holding your hand alone. It was overwhelming of hoe bright you were that Nuala swore she would soon be blinded by your light alone, however it was because of your power of will that gave her hope, hope that you’ll might just do what she had long since believed to be impossible.
You merely smiled and relied with, ‘because even the strongest of us deserve to smile and like you said, you don’t remember the last time that you’ve seen your brother smile. So leave that to me and I promise to have Nuada smiling soon.’
And you always meant your promises. Always. What you wasn’t expecting was how handsome Nuada actually was. No one had bothered to tell you prior that your partner was a true beauty. A beauty with a piercing set of golden eyes and desirably soft, silky hair that fell past his shoulders in a platinum blonde waterfall. He held an air about him that made you both nervous and excited, however you had to quickly remind yourself that he wasn’t going to warm up to you nearly as quickly as you’d hoped.
Nuada on the other hand was immediately blindsided by your personality. It was so vibrant, colourful and filled to the brim with radiant life that he was certain that he looked rather dull and lifeless in comparison. It also looked as though his sister was right about many things in regard to your character, however that didn’t warrant Nuada to immediately start trusting you like she had wished for, after all you were still a human at the end of the day.
‘I’m-‘
‘Y/n. I’m aware.’ Nuada cuts you off abruptly before you could properly introduce yourself.
You made a face. ‘How-‘
‘My sister speaks highly of you,’ you began to smile at that but Nuada wasn’t finished, ‘but I have yet to witness what’s so special about you.’ You merely shrugged and answered with your entire chest. ‘You will soon enough. I promised your sister to get you to smile after all.’ Nuada’s brows raised at this but before he could get you to elaborate on that further, it was already time to head out for your first mission as a partnership.
Your first mission had turned out to be an avid success that it would only stand to reason to keep sending you and Nuada out as a team. You worked extremely well together and your fighting styles complement each others, while also concealing any weak spots that the other may have almost seamlessly. You and Nuada both complement missions in quick and swift succession. That was out in the field however, the way you acted towards Nuada afterwards made him feel a weird warmth within his chest.
You would often note of how Nuada fell a good distance behind everyone else after group missions, and so you would then fall to the back of the group also -not wanting him to be alone- before naturally falling into step with him, all the while still adhering to giving him his own personal space. You didn’t force a conversation with him like he expected you to, but instead allowed a calming silence to befall the pair of you as you headed home; Which was something he was oddly grateful to you for as he wasn’t that much of a conversationalist after battle.
However he couldn’t help but wonder why you were putting in so much effort into him. He hated your kind and yet you’ve treated him with nothing but respect and kindness. You didn’t push his boundaries, you didn’t overstay your welcome but even long after you left his side, Nauda could still feel your lingering warmth within every breeze that passed him by. Nuada just didn’t get why you were so hellbent on your promise to his sister, was it truly that important for you to help fulfil Nuala’s wish? And if so, what was it that she had said at the time for you that solidified your need to see it through film the end?
While Nuada had to admit, it was quite admirable that you kept to your word but some days he couldn’t help but question whether if that was your sole reason for sticking so close to him. Whether or not he’d ever confront you about it was his to debate upon later, but as for now he decided against it; His pride would never allow him to indulge in such thoughts and ideations that weren’t remotely relevant to hating humans.
Nuada had also noticed that after being your partner for a while, he had developed a need to protect you from all harm. At first he thought that if you died on a mission, the fault would fall onto him and he would be put back into confinement until further notice, but he soon learned that wasn’t actually the case; Far from it actually that he soon found himself sitting across from his sister to discuss about it.
‘Sounds like you have grown fond of y/n, brother.’ Nuala had said, smiling as she relishes in the times that Nuada obviously expressed interest in you without knowing it, but luckily that’s when the link they share makes situations like these a whole lot more simpler to navigate.
‘I merely find them more tolerable than others.’ Nuada defends, crossing his arms over his chest, still heavily in denial that anything he felt for you could possibly go beyond the realms of being cordial with one another. Yet that didn’t explain the sting in his chest whenever you were as joyful and excitable with anyone who wasn’t him, almost as though he wanted you to only beam that bright for him and him only.
‘Then why do you feel at peace with them near? Has their light finally unveiled your heart?’ Nuala asked and this time Nuada stayed silent for a longer period of time as he was beginning to realise that yes, you did infect have unveiled his heart from the shadows he cast over it. What scared him however was how you had done it. You constantly showed him patience during the times where he needed it, showed him understanding when he talked about his feelings, something he hadn’t done as much before meeting you; you even showed him solidarity for the times where he needed someone to stand by his side.
You had changed Nuada’s way of life in small but meaningful ways that there came a day where he starts to hate the fact that he had come this far without the gentle guidance of your voice for him to follow unto a better path. However despite acknowledging that you play a pivotal part in his current life, doesn’t mean that made Nuada’s understanding of his feelings any clearer than they were when he first discovered them.
‘They make me feel things I’d never thought I’d feel again Nuala.’ He began, knowing that whatever he said to his sister would be kept solely between them. ‘I’ve been lost admits my need for revenge that even the fluttering in my chest, or the warmth that reaches my cheeks feels foreign to me now.’ He adds, taking the time to remember the first time he felt something towards you that wasn’t explicit hatred for being human. ‘It feels as though I’m experiencing them for the first time and I can’t help but become addicted of sorts, that whenever they smile at me-‘
‘You hope that they smile at you like that forever.’ Nuala interrupts her brother softly, already quite well acquainted either that feeling from the times she felt Nuada’s emotions through the link.
‘Yes.’ Nuada said in an almost whisper. ‘I wish to be the reason y/n smiles as much as they are mine.’ Nuala couldn’t help but express her happiness for this new stage of Nuada’s life, all she wanted was for her brother to be happy and she was made even happier at the fact that it was you who made him the happiest he’s ever felt in a long time.
‘We shall get through this together brother.’ Nuala reassured, feeling her brothers’ still prevalent confusion, making Nuada look back at her, ‘then soon everything else will fall into place. You just have to put faith in the hope that y/n will be there to catch you when you fall.’
Nuada was still confused about everything but with hi sisters help, he hopes to surely get a clearer understanding of what he was currently feeling before confronting you about it.

Prince Nuada Headcanons! 🤍
Prince Nuada x gn!Reader headcanons. I recently watched Hellboy II and I couldn't help but simp. I wrote these headcanons on how I think a relationship with him would be, and I wanted to share them with you! We can always do with a little more Nuada love. I hope you like them, and feel free to add your own headcanons if you have any!! I would love to hear your ideas 💕
Also, these are safe for work!
Tumblr media
Protective, protective, protective. This beautiful, lonely prince knows how cruel the world can be, how many dangers lie in it. Every time he cradles your face in his hands delicately, he silently vows to himself that he will protect you. For once in his life, he has finally found his light - someone who listens to his troubles, who watches curiously as he tinkers with mysterious elven technology, who washes and braids his hair when he can’t bother to do so. He will fight to the death for you.
He is the literal embodiment of “scary dog privileges”, so if you ever want to go for a walk or a run after dark, he will be there by your side, scowling at anyone who looks at you for a moment too long.
He looms over you like a shadow, always ready to push you behind him and shield you with his body if someone or something threatens you.
This is especially true when you visit the Troll Market. You had to insist for Nuada to take you with him the first time, but in the end, he gave in, unable to resist your bright, hopeful eyes and warm smile (you are his weak spot, after all). He agrees on two conditions: you are not allowed to wander on your own, and if something dangerous happens (such as a skirmish or if a creature bothers you) the trip will be over, and you will return to the surface immediately.
Luckily, nothing dangerous happened and you were able to experience the bustling, chaotic atmosphere of the market undisturbed. Unexpected bonus: Nuada always kept a large hand on the small of your back, ready to guide you or to tuck you in the safety of his arms at a moment’s notice should something threaten your safety.
He loves it when you watch him train. It makes him proud to show off his strength, to remind you of his immense prowess and, by extension, his ability to defend you. He always puts in more effort when he knows you’re watching (he can’t help it: your adoring gaze is much too adorable to resist). He wouldn’t deny you if you asked him to train you, but he will remind you that you won’t ever need to pick up a sword as long as he breathes.
Nuala loves you!! She is so happy that her brother has found someone who cherishes him the way you do. She can’t hide her smile as she tells you that she has never seen her brother smile so much (which isn’t a lot, but for Nuada, it’s huge). She can feel how much you mean to him. She will want to get to know the person who has bewitched her brother body and soul (*wink wink*), so expect her to invite you to spend time with her to get to know you better. She grows to be really fond of your presence and of the joy that you bring. She is yours and Nuada’s number one fan.
Sometimes, Nuada just stares at you. He takes it all in: your beauty, your smile, your kindness - just you. He used to think that humans were hollow creatures, incapable of showing empathy or kindness towards anyone or anything. But then you came along. You, so sweet, so ready not to treat him differently because of his past or his actions. He never stood a chance.
When you two are alone, he’s all over you. His preferred form of physical affection is through spoiling you with soft, delicate touches that always leave you trembling and craving more of his warmth. He will tuck strands of hair behind your ear if he wishes to better see your beautiful eyes when you’re talking to him, only to peck your lips unexpectedly when the urge to be close to you overtakes him. He is a legendary warrior who is quick to bestow death upon his enemies, but with you, he is as gentle as a soft breeze. His gentleness is a stark contrast to his power, but wholly welcome.
He becomes quickly addicted to kissing you. Your lips are soft and heavenly, how can he resist? He will usually move his lips against yours slowly, savoring the moment, one big hand behind your head so he can kiss you to his heart’s content, and the other tucking you against his chest. He loves it: it reminds him that you’re safe with him, protected against all the evils in the world. He won’t let you go until you’re sighing in bliss against his lips.
He will let you braid and style his hair. He loves the feeling of your smaller fingers running through his hair. To be touched so softly after a lifetime of war is heavenly. And moreover, he has to admit that, even if you are not a professional, the hair styles you choose for him always suit him. He appreciates both simple updos and intricate braids – as long as he gets to feel your hands and spend time in your presence, he’s happy.
How could I forget his markings? Nuada will let you run the tips of your fingers over the markings over his nose and temple – he is proud of his heritage and even more proud of you accepting his culture. Similarly, he will let you explore his battle scars: they are reminders that he has fought many battles and won, and therefore they are a testament to his courage and strength.
He will tell you about his culture, his people, and his language. He will even try to teach you a few words in Elvish, loving the way his tongue sounds when spoken from your mouth (also, imagine him telling you how beautiful or amazing you are in Elvish, loving the way you have no idea that he’s saying such intimate things to you). He is very proud when you listen intently to his stories and ask questions. He will feel honored that you show this much interest for his culture, further solidifying his belief that you are the one he wants to spend his life with. Also, expect him to use so many pet names in Elvish!! And then he smirks when you ask him what they mean – you won’t get a response until he's kissed you tenderly, the meaning whispered against your lips soon after.
All in all, I think Nuada has a lot of love to give under all his layers of anger and anguish. He is a loyal partner and an exceptional friend, always ready to be your rock and to steady you when life becomes too tough. He is your watchful protector and your greatest ally 🤍.

Teaser for chapter 2 of Prince Nuada Silverlance x disowned princess reader:
While you two were strolling in the hallways of the palace, you wondered if you could find many records about the Bethmoora clan to pass the time in the library. Afterall, if you were going to read some books while your family discuss business, may as well learn more about the strangers you’ve never heard of then not anything.
Now don’t be mistaken, you didn’t want to learn the Bethmoora clan’s history because of some strategy or something to use against them like you family did for many other visitors or guests; but learning more about other existences than just other similar individuals was enough to imagine exploring the outside world without no care in the world.
(Now to further explain my situation if y’all are curious, if not, you can ignore this message before the keep reading tab but if y’all are curious, then y’all are free to keep reading.)
Now y’all know as a person we all have a lot of responsibilities that we have to focus on before doing anything that we love to enjoy.
For example, I am about to start college in a few days and I also work on the weekends, so I hardly have any time to do anything much less riding stories, playing video games, or hanging out with friends.
But do not worry. I still want to try to finish the story just so that way I can see how far my writing skills can go and because I’ve always wanted to be a fun, loving fanfic writer for characters who hardly get enough Fame or love as they should. But do not fret the chapter is already done. I just need to edit a few stuff to make sense and then I will have enough time to post it before I start college.
I hope y’all enjoy the chapter and thank you for reminding me how much people are patiently waiting for something that means a lot to me.

Hello author, could you make Nuada with a female reader who is a dragon leader, she resembles like a mix of Hiccup and Valka from httyd, she also has a fire sword, dragon armor and staff, she is kind and compassionate to dragons, can tame and earn the trust of any dragon, she has 3 main dragons: Stormcutter, Triple Strike, Song of Death and the baby Deathgripper she recently rescued, she lives in a hidden place with the dragons she rescued. It took her a while to start trusting Nuada and the others. All the dragons obey her, so when a screaming death attacks the base, she calmly talks to the dragon and tames it. She takes Nuada with her on missions to free dragons from hunters, but her dragons are not friendly to Nuada (they don't trust him, but after Nuada saves y/n from a hunter's weapon, he deserves their trust and respect, but the dragons can growl at him and the little deathgripper tries to burn his clothes with acid, which Red laughs at), but are friendly to the others. One shot, if you don't mind. I apologize if I send you this request a second time
Ask and you shall receive!
I changed things around a little bit. I hope you don't mind.

Paring : Nuada x Fem. Reader (Elf / Dragon Keeper)
Themes: Enemies to friends | Slow burn | Soft/Fluff | Fights in the begining, and at the end.
Summary : Waking up in caves is never a good idea, until Nuada wakes up in one, one that leads him to a world he never knew existed.
Word count : 3.5K words
Tumblr media
Nuada awoke in the dark. He fumbled for his spear, trying to make sense of where he was.
All he knew was the darkness, the cold, and the lingering dampness that clung to the air. The ground beneath his feet was rocky and uneven. He was in a cave, a dark and gloomy one at that. Nuada had stumbled here and collapsed after his duel with Anung Un Rama to recuperate from his many injuries. He must have passed out, he realized, but he was alive. And if he was alive, then that meant his twin was alive.
He reached through his link, searching for some sign. Nuala was alive, and she seemed happy. Very happy, if the feelings he picked up were true. The sheer relief was enough to push him back onto his feet and grab his spear. He needed to get out of there and figure out what to do next.
He had no idea how far he had stumbled or where the entrance was. The cave seemed to flow on and on, a veritable tunnel of darkness and cold air. There was nothing here. No warmth, no light, no signs of life. At least this tunnel was empty, thank the gods. Nuada still felt weak and was in no mood for more fighting. At least, not for a while.
He walked and walked, ignoring his discomfort, his ears alert to any sound or movement. He stretched out a cautious hand, feeling the walls, his nose sniffing, hoping for something. Anything. Any sign that he was on the right track, on his way out, and to freedom. In the end, Nuada heard nothing. And he thought he was trapped in this dark prison for the rest of his days. He did not like that prospect at all.
And that was when he heard it, a faint and distant shriek. It felt shrill and powerful, like it came from some formidable beast. A beast of any kind meant there was an exit somewhere, and he was determined to find out. Nuada walked on, tightening his grip on his spear.
The tunnel dragged on, but the sound grew louder. No, not just a sound; there were many sounds. He heard wings flapping, strange creatures snarling at each other, of waterfalls.
Waterfalls? He thought. In so deep a cave?
Curiosity overtook all else, and Nuada was determined to see where he was and what dwelt within. He went on, sighing in relief when the presence of fresh air grew strong. He was nearing an exit of some sort, and perhaps, he would find the answers he was seeking. He was so preoccupied with his quest that he was completely unaware he was being followed. At least, that is what you thought.
While his back was turned, you sneaked up on him, your hands reaching for your weapons. They sliced through the air in silence, ready to strike, and then—
The intruder turned and neatly blocked your attack with a spear.
Nuada was stuck between shock and confusion. There was someone else here? Living in these caves with whatever beasts dwelled within? "Who are you?" He demanded.
You didn’t answer and only responded with another charge, another attack. Nuada was prepared, blocking your every attempt, but his body weakened. It hurt to move. It hurt to even breathe. He started to slow down and you took advantage of it, pressing your attack even more. Nuada was growing weary, and needed to end this battle before he collapsed again. When you charged, he deflected your blow and brought his spear down on your weapons, knocking them out of your hands. He moved again, bringing the pole to your knees and knocking you onto your back. Before you could even stand up, the tip of his spear was right between your eyes. "Enough!" He rasped as black spots danced before his eyes. "Who are you?"
Before you could give an answer, before you could even think, Nuada dropped his weapon and collapsed, groaning as the world went black again.
When Nuada awoke a second time, he found himself resting inside an airy tent. One filled with light and soft pelts and colorful cushions. His body throbbed, and his head swam. When he looked down, he found clean dressings over his wounds.
"Aha! The intruder comes back from the dead."
Nuada’s head spun as he sat up. "Here." A warm bowl was pressed into his hands. "Your stomach was growling the entire time while you slept."
"I would hardly consider falling unconscious as sleeping, but I thank you all the same." He lifted the bowl to his nose and sniffed, hoping and praying he was smelling vegetable stew and not anything else.
"Carrots and potatoes," You rolled your eyes and chuckled, tossing a chunk of bread that he caught cleanly with one hand. "And a bit of mutton. Don’t worry, I didn’t poison it. If I wanted you dead, I would have just chucked you over a waterfall."
"I thank you for your consideration," Nuada muttered as he studied you. You had to be els, or at least part elf. You had donned wearing strange armour, and your shield was all blues, reds, and yellows. Your helm, now perched on a pole, had strange horns sticking out, all painted in blue. Who were you, and how did you come to be here? "I am Nuada Silverlance of the Bethmooran clan, and--"
You gasped as your hands flew to your mouth. Without another word you made your way to his weapon and picked it up, your eyes filling with reverence. "Bethmooran iron," you breathed. "As I live and breathe. And you’re Prince Nuada?"
"Aye," Nuada said between mouthfuls of stew and bread.
"And your father is King Balor? The King Balor?" You kept the spear to the side and leaned in to hear more. "Is he still alive?"
Nuada was overcome with remorse for the pain he caused his father. "He is," he said truthfully. "Though he no longer considers me his son."
"What? Why?"
"Because I tried to go against him, tried to awaken the Golden Army. He sent a champion after me to stop me from finding the last piece of the key. We fought. And I- I was defeated."
Your eyes gave nothing away. "Hence the injuries?"
"Hence the injuries."
You hummed and pursed your lips, sat up straight, your legs crossing over each other as you studied him with wary eyes. Nuada ignored you and went on eating, his hunger greater than he realized. The stew was delicious, the bread soft and fresh. That still didn’t explain why  you were here, what those beasts were. "Where am I?" he asked, as he mopped up the remnants of stew with the last piece of bread. "Who are you? And what were those sounds I heard?"
You sighed but decide to introduce yourself. You were within the safety of your home after all, and had nothing to fear. And should the prince try anything, he would find you had many means of defending herself.
"I am y/n. I moved to these caves during the great war against the mortals."
Nuada nodded, his ears twitching when he picked up the noise of large wings in the air. "I heard some elves went into hiding and kept themselves apart from all the others. But what is this place? And what are those beasts out there?"
You pushed yourself up onto your feet and made your way to the entrance.  "This place has no name," you said as you pulled back the flaps. "If it did, the memory of it died long before I was even born. As for those beasts you heard--"
Nuada craned his neck and only saw lush trees, sprawling meadows, a strange but gentle light, and waterfalls in the distance. He looked again, trying to see what you saw. Nuada nearly gave up when a shadow flitted over the tent before settling in front of the entrance. He gaped at the sight before him.
"Dragons? Here? Alive?"
You grinned when the dragon strained its neck to get a better look at Nuada.  "Aye. Dragons. Alive. And in hiding. "Come," you said as you walked out without looking back. "I’ll introduce you to them.”
You proved to be a hospitable host, the kind that was polite and generous but kept their distance. The prince going against the king and trying to awaken the Golden Army made you suspicious of him. The dragons living in the sanctuary seemed to share your feelings and avoided him, growling and snarling at him if he got too close. Nuada sighed and kept a respectful distance.
He met the dragons that had actually bonded with you. There was a magnificent ruby red Storm-Cutter named Crimson, a Triple Strike called Lash, and a gorgeous Deathsong aptly named Siren.
They didn’t try to kill him, oh no. They treated Nuada with great indifference, which he supposed was better than being eaten or burned to cinders. Still, it stung to know that they did not trust him and that they did not trust him because you did not trust him. And you did not trust him because he admitted going against his father in an attempt to awaken the Golden Army. Elves from that age knew of the horrors of that terrible war and the blood that stained the blades of the mechanical warriors. Anyone would be suspicious of him, so he made himself useful, helping her with whatever you needed to get you to trust him.
It did not work, so he turned to his sister, asking her for aid. Even through the link, he could feel her rolling her eyes as she advised him.
One of those was jokes, so he tried to lighten the mood as Anung Un Rama would.
It didn’t work.
He was then instructed to try to be as witty as Abe Sapien.
That didn’t work, either. You merely shrugged and carried on with your work. Frustrated, Nuada thanked his sister, thinking he could figure things out on his way. He kept his head down, kept trying, hoping he’d have some luck someday.
The days melted into each other, and he lost track of time. He had settled into a comfortable routine, sometimes stopping to watch as you went about you day, doing your own work and keeping watch over the dragons. They obeyed you without question and hung onto you every word. There was deep love there, he could tell. And It honestly shocked him. Dragons never took to anyone, and no one took to them. At one time, elves hunted them during their coming-of-age ceremonies as a rite of passage. Nuada had only heard of dragons, as they had disappeared by the time he was born. He now realized they had not disappeared but had merely gone into hiding. This underground system in which they all lived was certainly big enough.
"What do they eat?" He asked one morning.
You pointed to the river. "Fish," you said, your hand then turning to the forests. "Game. They don’t eat much. One good meal a day can them going for weeks."
Nuada nodded and took in his surroundings again. "And that light?"
Even you had no clue, and you shrugged. "I’m not sure myself. It only lights up during the day and goes off at night. Perhaps stray sunlight is hitting some residue?"
Nuada could bring Anung Un Rama and Abe here if he could make peace with them. They would be able to figure it out. He shook his head and chuckled to himself. Anung Un Rama might only succeed in getting them all set on fire; his companion Liz would not be amused, and Nuala would howl at him for weeks. No, he decided, he would only bring Abe.
And the days went on, with you and Nuada slowly falling into a comfortable pattern. There wasn’t complete trust, not yet, but he felt the two of you were getting there. He showed you how to improve your fighting, and you taught him how to befriend dragons you had rescued, save for one that is.
And that was a Screaming Death that had flown to the sanctuary, looking for prey. You had to use your flaming sword to distract it and calm it. It was ornery and given to sulking, and Nuada had missed its attack, how you subdued it. Its favourite pass-time was to try and hit Nuada with fireballs.
“Tell me how to tame that thing,” He muttered over breakfast.
“Not yet,” you said back.
The lack of trust stung, but Nuada was patient.
You did, however, tried to teach him to calm a young Death Gripper named Sting. Nuada got close enough to touch its snout. It responded by going after him with its stinger and nearly burning a hole through his boot with its acid.
You had been content to watch the chaos unfold before your eyes before doubling up in laughter.
After having freed himself, Nuada came over and huffed, "Enjoying my suffering, yes?"
You answered in fits and starts. "W-well c-can y-you b-blame m-me?"
And you hooted when the Death Gripper came for a second round, and he shooed it away. "One of these days," Nuada mumbled, his eyes narrowing to thin lines. "I’ll get you back. Mark my words."
"Y-yes, b-but n-not tod--"
You collapsed onto your side, holding on to your tummy, as the Death Gripper appeared out of nowhere and ran into Nuada’s knees, making him fall onto his back with a loud oof. It should have been mortifying that a prince of his station could be treated in such a way, but he managed to see the funny side. He sat up and rewarded you with a giggle that finally turned into laughter.
"Come on," you groaned, your sides hurting like hell. "I’m off to see if any dragons need to be rescued, and you are going to help me."
The flight was exhilarating.
Nuada finally understood what true freedom was. He understood what it felt to be like an eagle, soaring above the world with nothing to hold him back Crimson was the most experienced at handling riders, and the boldest of the dragons. He’d rise and dive with the waves, take sharp turns around cliffs, never missing a beat.
You looked back, grinning at Nuada’s expression. “Enjoying yourself?”
His eyes had been filled with awe and wonder. “This is amazing!”
“You haven’t seen anything yet!” You tapped Crimson on the side, three gentle knocks to his neck. The dragon understood the signal and flew, going higher and higher, not stopping until he was flying between the clouds. “Look,” you said, pointing to what was all around him.
Nuada’s breath caught at the sight. Miles upon miles of bright blue sky, nothing around but the clouds all around them and the ocean beneath them. “You know, I’m glad I stumbled into those caves!”
You were glad too, though you wouldn’t tell it, not yet. Caring for the dragons was a fulfilling duty, a duty you enjoyed, but you had been lonely, with no one for company. Nuada had changed that with his arrival. “Good!” You yelled as you leaned forward, another signal for Crimson. “But you’ll need to hold on for now!”
“What?”
“I said, hold on!”
Nuada screamed, actually screamed, as he grabbed on to you when Crimson dived. The wind and cold were like tiny daggers, the drop terrifying, but he didn’t care. This was unlike anything he had ever experienced, and he’d cherish it for the rest of his days.
When the water grew closer, when the sting of salt grew stronger, Crimson leveled out, jolting the both of you. Nuada couldn’t help but cry, “We need to do that again!”
When you looked back, Nuada rewarded you with a smile that made him glow from within. “We should,” you turn back, pleased as punch. “We definitely should.”
It was an abandoned farm you flew to. Crimson had been on alert, sniffing the air for the presence of any dragons. When he finally caught a scent, he dipped as silently as possible.
Nuada could still feel his heart thumping. “A moment, if you please,” he mumbled. His legs had been unsteady and he needed a second to compose himself. “Right.” He coughed and straightened himself, much to your amusement. “Let’s go rescue this dragon.”
Crimson pointed to the barn. A dragon had been hiding there, he was sure of it.
There was something in the air though, that put Nuada on edge. “Something’s wrong. I can smell it.”
That stopped you in your tracks. “What is it?”
“Those other rescues, you said they were difficult, yes?”
“Yes. Dragons hide in places no one has heard of or even seen. Why?”
“A large barn,” He gestured to the ramshackle structure. “By an abandoned farm, in a well-used patch of country” He pulled out his spear, his entire body going taut like a bow-string. “It’s too good to be true.”
“You think it’s a trap?” This put you on edge. The elven rites of passages may have disappeared, but hunters still roamed the country, looking for live dragons they could kill for their hide, for their bones. There was magic in those parts, and spell-workers paid handsomely for bones and scales.
It was something Nuada would have done if he was a hunter trying to lure a dragon. “I know it is.”
The two of you inched closer and closer, weapons drawn, attention at full alert. Crimson followed, in case you needed help.
It was nerve wracking, creeping towards the barn in inch by painfully slow inch. The barn creaked and groaned, as if in warning. Still, this needed to be done.
Nuada went in first, pushed the door, spear at the ready as it swung inside.
The air was cold here, and so very still. Nuada was right, this was starting to smell of a trap. “Crimson,” you turned to your dragon, to order them to fly away. “Go ho--”
Your order died on your tongue as Nuada pushed you back and blocked a club that was aimed right at you. A hunter stood before him, clad in inky black armour, their face covered save for the eyes.
A hunter, here, hiding in this very barn. Your skin flushed with fear, your heartbeat roaring in your ears. “But there was a dragon!” you yelled as the two of you fought the hunter, a man who seemed quite skilled in fighting. “Crimson felt it!”
The hunter cackled. “And he did feel it, aye. Come on, darling!” he yelled into the shadows. “Make your presence known!”
The deafening scream gave you your answer. Gods save us, you sank to the ground in pain. Crimson had huddled into a ball, whimpering. Another Screaming Death.
The creature that glided towards them was young, probably two at the most. A strange amulet was strung around its neck, its twin around the hunter’s throat. The best seemed eager, hungry, and eyed Crimson like he was a tasty morsel.
“Y/N!” Nuada forced himself to his feet, spear in hand. “Does it have a weakness?”
Screaming Deaths had no known weaknesses, save for one, light. And it was still young enough to not have outgrown it. Then there were those amulets. They glittered and gleamed, like some dark magic rested within the jewels.
What if those stones bound the dragon to the hunter? Made it subservient to him?
“You deal with the hunter!” You pulled out your sword and fumbled with the lighters, praying a spark would hold and a fire would catch. “And,” you quickly leaned in, “Get rid of that necklace somehow.”
Nuada was more than up to the task. While he kept the hunter occupied, you waved your sword around as flames took hold, providing enough of a distraction for the dragon. It tailed you where you went, ducking and weaving, screaming whenever it recovered its senses.
Nuada had his hands full, fighting the hunter. They parried and slashed, hacked and hammered, each a match for the other. Nuada pressed on. He had faced worthier opponents and he wasn’t going to back down now. He kept fighting, constantly pushing the hunter onto the back foot.
And you? You had managed to pacify the Screaming Death long to sneak up to him, to grab that amulet. It recovered again, screeched so loud that the shock knocked you down. When it was about to lunge at you, Crimson leapt for its throat, both trying to tear each other to bloody pulps.
Nuada kept the hunter on the back foot, never letting him have the upper hand. He had disgraced his father once, he would not disgrace him again by falling to such a foe. The hunter’s attention broke, and Nuada took his chance. The blade of his spear came down in a clean arc, hit the necklace right on the stone, shattering it to pieces, just as Crimson managed to tear the necklace off the dragon, overpowering it and subduing it. The hunter shrieked.
"Get out,” you hissed. “Get out or there’ll be worse for you.”
The hunter sputtered, but ran with his tail between his legs. You reached Nuada and collapse next to him. “That was an interesting turn to the day.”
Nuada chuckled despite everything. “You could say that.”
Crimson came over and huffed at him, an expectant look in his eyes. “He likes you,” you said as you kept your sword lit, to pacify the Screaming Death. “Go on. You can touch him now.”
“Does that you trust me now?” Nuada panted and stroked a scaly nose. If Crimson trusted him it could only mean one thing.
“Yes,” you smiled at him. “Yes I do.”

Chapter 7
“I don’t like this.” Bryce said, even as he passed the fake documents to Lara.
They were lucky he had a friend that was always ready to come up with fake IDs, and needed only five hours to do so. It’d actually been harder to convince His Royal Prickness to be disguised as a human for a picture.
“You’ve mentioned it, Bryce.” She said as she put the document away.
She didn’t think they’d need it, but it was better to have a fake document than to have to try and bribe someone.
“Well… I don’t.” He insisted petulantly. “I’m sure Hillary also doesn’t like it.”
“Hillary is strangely close to this… Elf.”
He was. Lara wasn’t sure why Hillary was being so helpful to Nuada, but maybe he saw the same thing that she did: they couldn’t take him out yet, so they needed to figure him out.
“We’re taking a plane to Dublin, then we’ll take a car.”
The bookstore was located in County Louth, in a village that was almost at the border with Northern Ireland. Lara tried to find an excuse to go all the way driving -so she could delay this whole process -however, Nuada told her he knew about planes, so she better get them there fast.
So he wasn’t only a prick, he was also a smartass.
“Do you think he plans on killing you?” Bryce asked nervously.
“Probably.” She closed her bag. “So I better make myself too interesting to kill.”
Bryce didn’t seem amused by her joke.
“Are you finally ready?” Nuada demanded, entering the room.
Bryce put a good distance between them, and Lara had to hide her grin. “Yes.” She told him simply.
“Then let us go. I might be immortal, but I do not want to waste my time with this.” He then turned his back and left again.
“Real prince charming that one.” Bryce scoffed.
Yeah… He just didn’t know what was waiting for him.
***
Nuada hadn’t said a word since they left the house and Lara was happy to ignore him back. She didn’t have a private plane, but it wasn’t that hard to get one to take them to Dublin.
Once there, there was a car waiting for Lara, and they both got into it and drove away.
Lara waited until they were out of the city, surrounded by nothing but green on all sides, then she stopped.
“Why did you stop, human?” Nuada asked, his voice ice-cold.
She turned at him and smirked. “We are not going anywhere. Elf.”

After the fortunately failed suicide attempt from Nuala which had horribly injured both twins- Nuafa had been captured and the two rushed back to the Bureau for emergency treatment, Which fortunately allowed the Elves to survive the whole ordeal.
Nuada had been placed in custody of B.P.R.D first as a high level prisoner for many months after his attempt to wipe out humanity.
After being in solitary confinement for far too long a deal was struck with him to work for the organization due to his knowlege of the world and to get out of solitary help all that had been damaged.
He had agreed- begrudgingly and because Nuala insisted.. it had been nearly a year of this all- When something interesting took place.
Nuala and Abe walked down the corridors together, talking about recent books they had shared before Abe paused.
"Oh?-" He looked around calmly before seeing the warning lights come down shining blue instead of the normal red for emergencies.
"Is there an emergancy?" Nuala questioned, a bit nervous of what it could mean, But Abe gently touched her shoulder with his gloved hand.
"No no- Just a old friend. Everytime she visits her and Red play a.. Game of sorts like tag" Abe explained, Nuala smiling at hearing this. Nuada who had just returned from a mission turned the corner seeing his sister and the fish man, frowning but looking to the lights.
"Whats this?" He asked shortly, Abe repeating his answer from before.
"Warning lights for a Game?" He questioned, eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"Well they are only allowed to have this game once a year and for 5 minutes- mainly due to the property damage that always happens" Abe said truthfully as the elven twins looked surprised by this. A childish game causing property damage?
As if right on cue there was a loud crash the trio turning to see Hellboy running full force in their direction like a train.
"MOVE MOVE!" He yelled loudly, as he ran past them. This was the fastest any of them had seen him run even in a life or death situation, right as he was about to turn the corner a black boot came barrowing down on the side of his cheek, knocking him to the ground hard before the smaller figure ran down the hall Red had just gone through.
"You're it!" She yelled and the trio watched- There running past was a women. Dressed in all black leather tactical gear with her silver hair in a long braid, the ends a sunset gold- (Y/S/C) skin with unique etchings found in only elvish culture paired with amber eyes. It didn't take a genius to figure see what she was-
"Timer Abe!" She yelled, Abe looking to the small watch he carried.
"4 minutes and 26 seconds left- Also happy youve returned safely" He called out to (Y/N) who dashed down the hallway.
Nuada eyes widened as he couldnt help but follower her with his gaze, something about her drew him in. The trio sticking to the walls as they tried to follow the action- it was like a massive battle taking black between a giant and a tiny titan. While Red was slamming into walls cracking cement with his weight and arm- (Y/N) was doing flips and hung to the light fixtures above to keep an advantage.
"Happy to see you too!!!"
He could only describe himself as being mesmerized by her.. Every turn, giggle and jump just seemed to bewitch him and it terrified him.. It wasn't till a loud alarm snapped him his gaze making him jump a bit in surprise- the game was over it seemed and Hellboy returned with his sister, the demon clearly glum from losing.
Nuala eyes widened as she watched (Y/N) jump around Hellboy with a happy smile at winning the game. Figuring what she was but disbelieving of course even after this entire endeavor. A leath-fola. A Half-Blood Actually existed in this world? The embodiment of a union between a human and one of his own kind-
"I win Red! So that's 28 for me and 25 for you. Best luck next you!" She said cheerfully as Hellboy grumbled and pushed her head away with his small hand.
"Yada Yada short stack-"
She noticed the looks of the two meeting their gazes and Nuada immediately felt his heart beat pick up- Confused by the sensation he glanced to Nuala assuming it must be her however she seemed calm and relaxed.
"New Agents?" She questioned looking at the twins, Abe nodding with a 'smile'
"Prince Nuada of the Bethmora clan.. This here is my sister Princess Nuala" He introduced both formally, watching how her smile seemed to radiate as he spoke. It made him feel like he had had stepped into the sun for the first time in years..
"It's lovely to meet you both! It's so lovely to have new faces here in the facility" She said cheerfully, reaching out in a friendly matter and patting both twins on the shoulders.
It felt like Nuada had been shocked by the most pleasant bit of electricity that left him flustered and confused. His sister finally glancing at him as she felt his emotions and gaze a smile, a twinkle of what could only be described as mischief in her golden gaze.
"Yes.. new faces... now if you'll excuse me" Nuada said quickly before dismissing himself- trying to control the panic that was eating him on the inside and the warmth that bloomed in his body. He practically ran back to the space he was forced to call a room and lock himself inside. Nuada stood in his room pacing back and forth. His mind racing and heart uneasy- unknowingly for hours as he tried to calm himself from the sudden feelings that seemed to slam into him.
A knock on the door bringing him from his thoughts as he quickly opened the door, surprised to see his sister standing there in a evening gown.
"Sister, what are you doing up? You should be resting.." He said softly, allowing Nuala into the room.
"I can not rest with you so worked up brother" Nuala said softly. The prince sighing as he realized he had kept her up and took a seat on the corner of the bed, Nuala sitting next to him as well.
"Well- It sounds like she is your fated partner" She pointed out and Nuada immediately felt anger in his blood.
"You're thinking about the leath-fola (Y/N)? Right?" Nuala said softly as she rubbed her brothers shoulder to comfort him. He frowned at being so obvious and also for the form of comfort.
"Yes- She... makes me uneasy" He says, lying a bit to avoid the words he wanted to use. Nuala smiling at this.
"Do not speak such foolish things-" He hissed, Nuala flinching at his harsh words.
"I am not fated to a mortal of all beings" He started but Nuala held up a hand.
"She is not a mortal however brother.. You saw" Nuada was ready to argue but couldnt- his face twisting up.. The damn half-breed was not his fated partner NOR was it going to be the siblings of the demon.
He would prove it...
For the first few weeks that (Y/N) was there, Nuada had been rude and snide. Hissing insults about her mixed blood, shoving past her or even straight up ignoring her. He expected she would take the abuse since she didnt say anything about it but he had been wrong- so terribly wrong.
It took only one time calling her "Dirty" in terms of her blood to get the hardest punch he had ever taken to the nose- It made his eyes water and fall to a knee infront of her..
She grabbed his silver hair and pulled him close so they were eye to eye-
"Listen here- Keep insulting me like this and I'm going to tear your ass a new one. I don't give a Flying fuck if your a price or whatever- I will fuck you up" She hissed at him-
Nuada felt more confused then he ever had before- The pain seemingly going with the fluttering warmth he felt in his face and blatant arousal that was Damm near impossible to miss- (Y/N) seeing his widened eyes and the flush of color on his pale face, like he was frozen and her own golden eyes traveled down at noticing some new movement.
"O-Oh-" Was all she said- Clearly just as surprised as Nuada was at this point. Her fingers carefully releasing his silver hair as warmth went to her own cheeks.
Nuada wanted a blade to the heart at this point...

Call My Name (Nuada x Reader)
Tumblr media
Nuada Silverlance (Hellboy) x Reader
TW: Some slight violence (as to be expected), but otherwise just Nuada being an emotionally-constipated ass
Word Count: ~5400 words
Prompt: I always call you by your title except the one time when you’re in trouble, enemies to lovers, slight hurt-comfort
I stayed up until 3 am writing this, so if you see a typo... no you didn't. Just a reminder that my requests are open so please send them in!
Your ability to get along with just about everyone is something you take a lot of pride in. When you first came under the protection of the BPRD with Red, you had quickly formed many valuable connections, even if you couldn’t call many of them true friends. And when Liz later joined the team, the two of you got on like wildfire (pun intended) almost instantly. Hell, even Manning acts agreeable towards you. You’ve always thought of yourself as a charming person, despite your somewhat off-putting appearance, and your skills in negotiation and peacemaking are unmatched.
That is, until a certain elf-prince came into the BPRD’s custody and put that to the test.
You hadn’t been part of the task team that fought in the Battle of the Golden Army, your… special skills pulling you away from the conflict to mediate between two warring tribes of giants in the Himalayas.
You are an Avian, a mutated human with wings and the ability to speak every language, both human and supernatural, on the planet. Had the two tribes gone to war, it would have been devastating for the entire Asian continent and would have exposed the entire supernatural world. Being deep into the world’s tallest mountains and in the throes of complicated negotiations meant that you had little to no communication to the outside world for weeks, so to say you were shocked to find out that the world had been incredibly close to being destroyed by an ancient army would be an understatement.
Even more shocking was finding out that the BPRD had taken the culprit into custody.
The compound was bustling with activity as you made your way through the long corridors to Manning’s office for your debrief. Familiar faces greeted you as you walked past, some stopping for a moment to ask you about your mission. There were a few who gave you a wide berth, eyeing your wings warily. You had grown used to such looks, knowing that your wings were far from the prettiest things to gaze upon. Avians are an incredibly rare type of mutation, but your specific type even more so. While most had beautiful feathered wings like that of an angel, yours more closely resembled a bat’s.
You unconsciously tuck your wings closer against your back, wishing that there was more room underground to stretch out to your full wingspan more often.
You knock on Manning’s door once before pushing your way in, too tired from your trip to wait for him to call you in. All you want to do is take a long, hot shower and sleep for days.
You’re surprised someone is already sitting there across from the director of the BRPD, and from the tension in his shoulders he isn’t very happy. His head snaps towards you the moment you step into the room, his golden eyes finding yours instantly. His mouth is pulled back into a sneer as he regards you coolly, eyes flicking up and down your form before settling on your wings. Something hardens in his gaze, and he quickly turns his body away from you as if you were not even there.
“Ah, you’ve returned!” Manning greets. “Well?”
“The conflict between the giants has successfully been resolved,” you report, trying hard to ignore the disdain that seems to be radiating from the golden-eyed man. “I doubt they will be so quick to go to arms with each other again.”
Manning hums in approval, settling back into his seat. “I want a full report typed up on my desk tomorrow.”  You nod, turning to leave. “Wait, there’s one more thing.”
You eye him warily, your hopes of a quick escape dashed. Manning gestures to the stranger in the room. “This is Nuada Silverlance, Prince of the Bethmoora Clan. He is in our charge for the foreseeable future.” You notice Nuada’s hands tightening into fists at his words. “I’ve assigned you to be his personal guide and companion while he settles into life here.”
“I do not need a guide.” The prince speaks for the first time. His voice is deep and smooth like honey, and you would find it strangely attractive if it weren’t for the fact that he was glaring at you as he spoke. “And I certainly do not want companionship from the likes of her. If I am to be forced to live in this insufferable human prison, then I wish to at least be left alone.”
“You will escort Nuada around the compound,” Manning ignores the silver-haired elf. “And you will help him with anything he needs as well as teach him about human culture.”
Nuada growls, getting to his feet abruptly. “Absolutely not!”
Manning eyes him coolly. “Need I remind you of the reason you're here in the first place. And if you have any hopes of repairing your relationship with your sister, I would recommend you behave and do as we say.”
You stifle a yawn as Nuada growls again, your jet lag really starting to make itself known. The elf turns his angry gaze towards you, rage sparking like molten gold in his eyes. “Am I boring you, human? Maybe a knife to your throat will wake you up.” He threatens.
“Really? Because I don’t see any weapons on you.” You gesture to his empty belt and  exaggeratedly look around the office. “Unless you’ve hidden one somewhere. Is the knife here in the room with us?”
Nuada looks like a volcano about to erupt, and you have to stifle a laugh. “That’s enough, (Name).” Manning says. “If you would be so kind as to show Nuada to his room. It’ll be right across from yours.”
Great.
You and the elf-prince exit Manning’s office in silence and stand awkwardly in the hallway. “Okay,” you clear your throat. “It’s this way.”
You walk a few paces before you realize Nuada isn’t following. You sigh, mustering up the last of your remaining energy as you face the still-glaring prince. “Look, I know you don’t want to be here. Hell, I wouldn’t either. But you are, and from what I’ve heard about what happened, there’s much worse places you could be.” You hold up your hand to stop him as he takes an angry step forward. “We can fight about this tomorrow, but I have had a very long day. And I can promise you that of all the people to get assigned to be your chaperone, you could do a whole lot worse than me. So unless you want me to go get Red to be your buddy, I recommend that you follow me to your room.”
With that, you turn and begin walking away again, a small smile pulling at your lips when you hear light, almost-silent footsteps following behind you.
By the time you reach your rooms, your wings are dragging against the ground with exhaustion. “That’s yours, I guess.” You gesture vaguely at the door across from yours. “If you need anything, just knock or find one of the guards. I’m sure they won’t be far.”
Nuada nods stiffly and enters into his room, closing the door solidly behind him. “Good talk,” you sigh. You spend the rest of the evening decompressing from your trip, taking a hot bath and relaxing in bed with a cup of tea, and most importantly, keeping your mind off of the intriguing elf-prince just across the hall from you.
~~~
You’re shockingly unbothered for the entire night, managing to sleep well into the next day. By the time you drag yourself out of bed, it’s shortly before noon and your stomach is making its hunger known.
You dress quickly and go to knock on Nuada’s door. You wait several moments with no response and knock again, louder this time.
“What do you want, human?” Nuada growls, opening the door half-way.
“I thought you might be hungry and figured I could show you to the dining hall.”
The elf narrows his eyes but reluctantly steps out. “If you must.”
You struggle to hide your amusement at the sight of his disgusted face when you get to the bustling cafeteria. Agents roam between full tables and a clamor of voices and cutlery scraping against plates fills the air. Your smile fades when Nuada suddenly goes rigid. You follow his gaze to see Nuala sitting at a table with Abe. Their bodies are angled towards each other, knees knocking together as Abe leans forward to brush a stray hair behind her ear.
Before you can stop him, Nuada is stalking forward, and you struggle to keep up behind him without knocking into anyone with your wings. Nuala gazes up at her brother with a face devoid of emotion while Abe pulls back awkwardly. “Sister, I wish to speak with you privately.”
“Whatever you have to say can be said to the both of us, brother.” She replies evenly. You hang back, unsure of if you should redirect this before the elf-prince causes a scene.
“You really stoop so low as to openly fraternize with a traitor? You would truly embarrass your people this way?” Nuada shoots Abe a withering glare. The fish-man blinks in surprise. “Uhm, excuse me, but-”
“I love Abe, brother. I expect you to respect my choice.” Nuala reaches over and clasps his hand in her own. “And he is far from a traitor.”
“He helps the enemy! He lives amongst them as if they are family!” Nuada hisses.
“They are my family,” Abe replies smoothly. “If you were to let go of your hate, you could see all the good that they do.”
Nuada growls, taking a menacing step forward. “Hey, let’s maybe not do this here, yeah?” You finally butt in, acutely aware that the dining hall has gone completely quiet and everyone’s attention in on you.
The elf-prince turns and stalks away without a word, leaving you struggling to keep up with him once again. He’s already half-way down the hall when you catch up to him, and you reach forward to grab at his wrist. “Nuada, hold on a second-”
“Don’t you dare touch me, you filth!”
You reel back for a moment, shocked at his outburst in one second and enraged in the next.
“And don’t you dare talk to me like that, your highness.” You square up to the prince, matching his angry gaze with your own. “You may be royalty amongst your kind, but that doesn’t give you any right to speak to me in such a manner. I have done nothing but try to help you.”
“I never asked for your help.” Nuada hisses, looming over you in a certain way that you try very hard not to pay attention to. “If you haven’t noticed, I am being held here against my will.”
You soften slightly, feeling slightly bad for him despite yourself. “I know you are. But you tried to wipe out the entire human race- what did you expect to happen? The best you can do now is try and make the most of being here. It really isn’t so bad once you get used to it.”
“I will never accept being a prisoner here.” Nuada growls, whipping around and stalking off in the direction of his room.
You watch him go with a frown, deciding to give him some time to cool off.
“I apologize for my brother,” a soft voice speaks from behind you.
Nuala stands there with Abe standing slightly behind her, a sympathetic look on her face. “He has always been quick to anger, even when we were elflings.”
You give her a lopsided smile, reaching out a hand to introduce yourself formally. “I appreciate the apology, but none is needed, at least not from you.”
You cast a glance in the direction the elf in question disappeared off to. “I feel bad for him, in a way. Even though he tried to commit mass genocide and all.”
“My brother is very passionate when it comes to the preservation of our people.” Nuala sighs. “Unfortunately, his means of acting on them are grossly misguided.”
You leave the two of them to go on their way, heading back into the dining hall to actually eat this time. After making a quick sandwich, you leave with some fruit and bread wrapped in a napkin. You place it in front of Nuada’s door, knocking sharply twice before heading to the training room for some practice.
Only once he’s certain you’ve left does Nuada open his door, stamping down the small twinge of guilt he feels as he picks up the food you’ve left for him.
~~~
Nuada doesn’t leave his room once for the next three days. The only indication you have that he’s still in there is the faint light from beneath the door and the fact that the food you leave for him always quickly disappears.
On the third day, you grow tired of awkwardly hanging around in the hallway debating on knocking on his door and finally do so.
You wait a few moments before knocking again, louder this time.
“You humans are so impatient. I was going to answer.” Nuada gives as way of greeting. “What do you want?”
“I was wondering if you wanted to come with me to the training room.” You offer with what you hope is a convincing smile. “It’s always empty at this time of day and I figured you might enjoy a change of scenery.”
The prince quirks an eyebrow at you suspiciously but begrudgingly gestures for you to lead the way.
You ask him about his preferred weapon, surprised that he answers your question without malice. He tells you of his prized spear, indulging you in a tale of how it was forged.
You hum in thought before the weapon wall, grabbing a bo staff and handing it to him. “It’s not elven-made, but it’s the closest training weapon we have to what you’re used to.”
Nuada gives it a few test swings, getting used to its weight. While he does so, you unsheath your personal dual swords from their scabbards, examining them closely before deeming them acceptable for the training session.
You settle into a loose fighting stance, shooting the elf a wicked grin. “Ready when you are, princeling.”
He surges forward without warning, immediately going on the offense. You parry his blow easily, following it with a lunge of your own. The sound of metal on metal begins to fill the room as you match each other blow for blow, both of you unable to land a hit on the other. You blink at the sweat threatening to drip into your eyes, searching for any chink in the prince’s otherwise impenetrable stance.
He takes a small step back, presumably to gain momentum for his next attack, but in that moment you spot his weakness. He shifts too much weight into that one foot, and before he can pivot towards you, you’re darting forward with a well-aimed strike to his knee.
He wobbles, off-balanced for a second. That second is all you need, and before he can comprehend it, he’s knocked onto his back with one of your blades pointed at his throat.
He ignores the hand you offer to him, pushing himself to his feet without a word. He can’t help the glimmer of respect he feels for you as you smile at him, finally wiping the sweat from your brow.
You stretch your arms languidly above your head, and he averts his eyes from the sliver of soft skin that becomes visible as your top rides up slightly.
“I haven’t had to work so hard to win against someone in forever.” You say. “We’ll have to do this again sometime.”
“That would be amenable.”
You grin in victory, pleased at having won two battles today. “Come on, there’s one more place I want to show you while we’re over on this side of the building.”
You lead him to the library, which is almost always virtually devoid of anyone else. The prince can’t completely keep the look of pleasure off his space as he explores the countless titles, pulling some of them to take back to his room with him.
As you bid him goodbye to take a shower, you could swear his gaze lingers on you slightly longer as you turn toward your own chambers.
~~~
Things are slightly different after that day.
Nuada still makes his displeasure at being the BPRD’s prisoner apparent, and he is often cold and grumpy in his demeanor, but he does not direct such harsh words at you again. You continue to train together, slowly learning each other’s fighting styles and testing them with a variety of different weapons. You know Manning isn’t very pleased that you’re allowing the prince to wield a weapon, but the way you see it, it allows him to blow off some steam and that’s a win in your book.
You also begin to spend time in the library together, most of the time just reading your separate books in silence. There’s something oddly… domestic about it, if you would allow yourself to think of it in that way.
Thoughts like these are dangerous though, for as the weeks go by, you begin to find yourself attracted to the silver-haired elf.
You realize the true depth of these feelings with startling clarity one night after you see Nuada smile for the first time. It is small and barely-there, pulling at his lips after he finds a book of elven fairy-tales on a shelf tucked in the very back of the library, but the sight of it nearly knocks the air out of your lungs.
There’s no denying the elf is incredibly handsome, but his smile completely transforms his face from alluring to ethereal. You avert your gaze before he can notice, and resolve to never let your feelings become apartment to him.
Because at the end of the day, you’re still just a human, wings or not.
You struggle particularly hard one evening in the library to focus on the book you’ve chosen, stealing quick glimpses at the elf sitting across from you through your hair.
“You’re staring,” He hums, long fingers flicking to the next page without looking up at you.
“Just thinking.” You say, forcing your attention back to the page in front of you. You read the same sentence four times before getting to your feet, carefully marking your place before setting the book down. “I can’t stand being inside one moment longer,” You announce.
Nuada raises an eyebrow. “I do not believe I am ‘allowed’ to leave the premises, if you weren’t aware.” He comments drily, and you scoff.
“Who said anything about leaving?
Cool wind whips at you as you push open the door to the roof, and you sigh in relief at the open air. Stars twinkle overhead, the compound being far enough from the city lights to be able to see a faint haze of the galaxy spread across the sky.
You allow your wings to stretch to their full span for what feels like the first time in ages, giving a small flap that lifts your feet slightly above the ground for a moment.
You can feel the prince’s eyes on you, and you extend one of your wings towards him. “You can touch it, if you want. Most people are curious.”
You suppress a shiver as his calloused hand swipes experimentally over the skin, not expecting your wings to be so sensitive to his touch. He drags his fingertips over the back, marveling at how a limb so strong could feel so soft. “Have you always been like this?” He asks softly.
“I was born with them, yes.” You say, directing your attention to the stars above your head. “Gave my parents quite a shock, I suppose, seeing as they put me up for adoption immediately after I was born. I was taken in by Professor Bruttenholm, who raised me alongside Red. He taught me that my wings are a gift, a way to do good despite what others may see them as.”
You turn to see Nuada is gazing at you intently. “Others have treated you horribly for your appearance.” He doesn’t say it as a question.
“That’s true,” you smile wryly. “People can definitely be cruel. But they can also be incredibly kind, and while there may be a couple here who will avoid me in the hallways, for the most part the BPRD is my family.”
You meet the prince’s gaze imploringly. “I know you hold significant anger for humanity. And I even understand why. But don’t punish an entire race for the sins of a few. There are many who care a whole lot… like me.” For you.
You don’t say that last part, but you know he understands its implication. Over the course of you speaking, the two of you have somehow gravitated closer to each other. You stare into the elf’s golden eyes, now inches from your own.
Your hands brush together as he draws even closer, and your breath hitches slightly at the electricity that the touch elicits.
“I must admit I have grown rather fond of you,” Nuada murmurs, almost as if he doesn’t even realize. “You have made being here slightly more bearable.”
You huff out a laugh as his warm breath fans across your cheeks. Your eyelids begin to flutter closed as his lips just barely brush against yours. All of the sudden, he yanks himself away, his face a mixture of disbelief and fury.
“You have bewitched me,” the prince hisses, eyes devoid of the warmth they had held just moments ago. “I see your ploy now, witch. You would make me a traitor to my own kind, complacent to stay here forever and allow humanity to corrupt what little of the natural world there is left.”
“Nuada, I-” you stumble in disbelief, reeling from the complete change in his attitude.
“Silence!” He roars, causing you to take an involuntary step back. Gone is any of the tenderness he had directed towards you, replaced with cold, simmering rage. For the first time, you find yourself slightly afraid of him.
"You are nothing but a filthy human with extra appendages,” he spits viciously, and you rear back as if he had slapped you. “And I will always hate you just like the rest of your despicable kind.”
He leaves you on the roof, slamming the door behind him with a bang.
You don’t know how long you stand in the cold, completely dumbfounded by Nuada’s actions. All the progress you’d made with him had vanished in an instant, any hope of him possibly returning your feelings snatched away in the cruelest way possible.
You finally shake yourself out of your shock, reaching up to wipe the silent tears off your cheeks. You suppose that you should have expected this. You’d been foolish to think that you and the elvish prince could even remotely be friends, much less anything more.
You bury your hurt deep, deciding that from now on that you would avoid Nuada at all costs. Manning would just have to find someone else to accompany him around.
You make your way back to your room in a daze, heart twisting as you briefly glance at the door across from yours.
You don’t sleep at all that night, wrapping your wings comfortingly around yourself and shivering from the cold that has seemed to settle itself right against your bones.
~~~
You and Nuada do not speak for a month.
You deliberately avoid his gaze every time you pass each other in the halls, and if he happens to be in the training room or library whenever you are, you leave until he is finished.
By some twisted form of masochism, you spend a lot of time on the rooftop, staring blankly at the horizon.
Life without the elvish prince is boring and monotonous, and you have no idea how you carried out your days before he was there to occupy all your time. It doesn’t help that you’ve barely been given any missions, the few you’re called on only pulling you away from the compound for a few days at a time.
If anyone notices the change in either of your attitudes, they don’t say anything. Nuala often looks at you with sympathy and Liz seems to hang around more despite being constantly busy with the twins, but neither of them address your listlessness.
You’re sitting in the library pretending to read when a lower agent approaches you. “Manning wants to see you in his office.”
You get up with a sigh, already not looking forward to this conversation.
You struggle to keep any emotion from showing on your face when you see Nuada is sitting across from Manning’s desk. A strong sense of deja vu hits you as his gaze meets yours and flicks away just as quickly before you can read anything there. The director of the BPRD clears his throat, obviously having caught the brief exchange.
“There has been a troll sighting not far from here,” Manning directs towards you. “They’re bold, amassing forces so close to our base. I’m sending a large team to go deal with the problem.” He gestures to the elf who is pointedly not looking at you. “Nuada will be accompanying you.”
You immediately open your mouth to protest, your refusal dying on your tongue as Manning holds up a hand to silence you. “The prince has not caused any problems during his stay here and I believe it is time for him to start becoming more involved with our operations. He will be your responsibility while out on the field.”
You grind your teeth so hard you fear they might crack as Manning dismisses you both. You speed-walk out of the office before Nuada can get to his feet, trying to put as much distance between the two of you as possibly.
It’s a little hard to do that while in the back of a transport van, which you find yourself seated in the next morning. You do your best to ignore the elf sitting across the aisle from you as you’re jostled along. You grip your dual swords sitting across your lap, trying to keep your mind on the mission ahead.
You’re the first out of the van when it stops, immediately beginning to scan your surroundings. Your group has been dropped off right in front of a dense part of the forest, the trees so close together it's impossible to see between them.
As the rest of the team assembles on the grass, you strap your swords to your back and launch yourself into the air, trying to get a better glimpse into the thicket. You swoop closer to the treetops, but the branches are too thick to see through, and you return to the clearing with no luck.
“I can barely see into there,” you report. “They’ve chosen their hideout well.”
Red claps his hands together, calling everyone closer to him. “We’ll have to split up to cover more ground. Me and Liz will head north-west into the forest. (Name), you and Nuada will go north-east. The rest of you fan out in between.”
Ice settles into your heart as the group disperses, leaving you and Nuada alone. “We’d better get going,” you address the elf for the first time in weeks, not waiting for him to reply before you start walking into the trees.
The two of you hike in silence for some minutes, pushing aside branches and foliage with every step. You grumble quietly to yourself, wishing you could stretch your wings. Nuada stops suddenly, his hand on your wrist and a slender finger pressed to his lips to keep you quiet.
Warmth begins to creep up your arm from where his skin touches yours, but the hair standing up at the back of your head distracts you from it. The sounds of the forest have gone completely silent, leaving behind an eerie ringing that you don’t know is in your head or not.
Nuada pulls you down suddenly, wide eyes meeting your own as an arrow embeds itself in the wood right behind where your head had just been.
“Run,” he growls, and then you’re both taking off through the trees.
Branches whip at your face as you race through the thicket, knobby roots seeming to reach up to try and trip you with every stride.
You scramble to a halt as a troll seems to materialize out of the branches before you, his sharp teeth and red eyes gleaming in the dappled sunlight that manages to filter through the leaves. You draw your swords, preparing for a fight. Your swords meet his in a clash of metal on metal, and you grunt from the exertion. The troll is strong, and your stomach rolls at the stench of his breath as he grins wickedly at you.
“(Name)!” A scream of your name steals your attention just enough to notice the troll that has also been creeping up behind you, but it is already too late.
A hard blow strikes you across the back of the head, and you crumple immediately. An enraged roar and a high-pitched squeal of pain that is suddenly cut off is the last thing you hear before your world completely goes black.
~~~
You wake slowly, head pounding with every beat of your heart.
You blink blearily, the sight of one of the BPRD’s hospital rooms coming into focus. Movement from beside you shifts your attention, and you’re shocked to see Nuada sitting uncomfortably in one of the metal chairs by your bedside.
He is dressed in fresh robes, his silver hair pulled back and a somber look on his face. You gaze at him silently, not trusting yourself to speak for multiple reasons.
“I owe you numerous apologies,” he begins without ceremony. “I was cruel and incredibly unkind. I have no excuse other than my own bigotry and confusion. I did not know how to handle my emotions and lashed out at you as a result.”
You allow him to grab your hand, the same warmth beginning to creep up your arm. You can’t deny that it feels nice, but you don’t exactly want to forgive him just yet.
“I feel… very strong emotions for you.” Nuada says, his face sincere as he looks at you. For once, there is no anger lurking in his sight, and his eyes are golden pools of sunlight. “I did not want to admit to myself what they were at the time, but seeing you hurt proves that I can fight it no longer.” The prince takes a deep breath. “I love you, (Name). And I will spend every day for the rest of our lives making up for the hurt I have caused you, if you would allow me to court you.”
You press your lips to his, the kiss soft and hopeful. He responds immediately, carefully bringing his hand up to caress your cheek and hold you to him. This kiss is everything that your first one should have been, and you pull away reluctantly despite yourself.
“You have a lot of making up to do,” you say with a smile. Nuada smiles back, his entire face lighting up with joy.
“I will make you my queen,” he vows. “You will never want for anything from this day forward.”
You can’t help the laugh that escapes at how serious he’s being, reaching forward to intertwine your fingers with his.
“Let’s maybe start with dinner, hm?”
Hi, hope you're having a good day/afternoon/evening. Do you write stuff about Hellboy? If yes, could you plesase do gn!verytall!reader x Nuada, where he takes a dislike on them, but somehow catches feelings, but he can't and will not accept that and reader don't know why they're locked in their dungeons and just wait for their death. Nuada has a goal: eliminate all humans. However, he doesn't know if he should include reader. If you're not into Hellboy, forget I asked anything. I like your prompts by the way.
What’s up with me and liking these kinds of characters…I guess we’ll never know. 🦦
It probably wasn’t your smartest move in separating from the group to pursue a lead in finding prince Nuada on your own because whatever delusion you were riding on at the time that made you think that you stood a chance at besting him. A man who’s movements were as fast, swift and as fluid as a cold breeze.
It might as well be considered a death sentence to fight Nuada on your own. Something you should’ve taken into consideration for as soon after your brief one sided fight, which had Nuada dominating for most of it. But instead of delivering the killing blow with his lance, Nuada had decided to take you as a prisoner and had you flung into one of his dungeons until you friends come to retrieve you or for death to greet you first; So while you waited for either outcome, you began trying to find creative ways as to entertain yourself.
Meanwhile Nuada was finding himself to be at odds with himself over his resolve but mostly over you, a pathetic, greedy, hollow human being. No better then the others in his eyes and yet Nuada found his feelings of resentment, anger and anguish he held towards the human race, having dwindled the moment your eyes met his as he held his lance closely to your throat. Nuada knew that he could’ve finished you off like he had done to countless others but why were you the one to make him falter, to question his resolve, his purpose and cast an ember of warmth within his heart?
What made you so special in comparison to the others, whom he had so easily had snuffed the lives from? Why was it that throughout your fight did he not take full advantage of your openings, your weaknesses then and there? Nuada was given so many golden opportunities to rid himself of yet another filthy human, but something deep down inside was telling him to not bring you any more harm than he already had. Naturally Nuada assumed it was some magical trickery that you possessed in order to mess with his mind, however it was documented that you had no such gifted ability like Liz; You were just an ordinary human like any other who thought they couldn’t do no wrong, while simultaneously standing by and doing nothing to bring about change in the nature of your people.
This only proved to piss and confuse Nuada even more. You were rotting in his dungeons and yet you still manage to haunt his mind like a ghost. Hell he could visualise you so vividly and so real within his own head, making sure to get every feature of yours right, that he could almost reach out and actually touch you and be able to feel the warmth of your skin against his fingertips, feeling your muscles move beneath his touch, followed by your sharp inhale at the unsuspecting contact from him.
You distracted Nuada from what he felt was most important, form what he set out to do and he wasn’t one to leave any unfinished business, not when he was close to achieving his ultimate goal in eradicating all mankind, so much so that he could practically taste it on his tongue. However there was a slight problem with that, for if he were to eradicate all humans, that would naturally include you in that; The one human who had made a home within his unwilling heart and he didn’t know what to make of it because once again he was heavily conflicted, for his heart had grown to find some semblance of enjoyment within your company, much to his dismay.
‘How could I have allowed myself to become so weak!’ Nuada hissed to himself as his once relaxed hands became fists within a blink of an eye. ‘My head and heart have both betrayed me with their conjoined weakness towards that..human.’ He adds bitterly, adamant in even uttering the word human. It felt both vile and wrong to Nuada in naming those who’s inherent greed and corruption had put him in his current position; He felt as though he was doing a disservice to his own people for feeling any kind of way towards the enemy, and yet his heart couldn’t help but become more and more intrigued by you.
Had things played out a little differently just what would your relationship with him be? His heart would wonder aloud.
They’re a human, you fool! There will never be a relationship between them and us, for we’d only end with a knife within our backs. Nuada’s mind would reply, not wanting to ever show an ounce of weakness towards the enemy, not when he was so fucking close to finishing it.
It was within your human nature to be cruel, to lack empathy, kindness and compassion and yet Nuada felt an uncertainty in whether or not he wanted you dead with the rest of humanity. Would it be considered hypocrisy if he were to keep you alive while everyone else is dead? Maybe but he would deal with the consequences of his actions for a later date.
For now he had to confront you about how you’ve made him feel recently.
Hiii! I know I’m a bit late but I just wanted to say that I loved your Nuada HCs! Like literally made my heart melt they were so cute! 🩵
Anyway, I was wondering what kinds of activities you think he’d enjoy doing with his s/o. Personally, I see him as being very into nature (especially secluded wilderness uninhabited by humans) but I wanted to hear your thoughts! ⭐️
Do you see him as a dog or cat elf?
Would he be down to spend a lazy day in bed cuddling his partner?
What would he do for his partner during a holiday? :)
Hi! Thank you so much, I appreciate your words a lot 💜 I'm happy that there are many people who want to smooch our elf prince. 🧝 And sorry for the delay on this one!
Now, onto your questions!
What kind of activity would Nuada enjoy doing with you?
I agree with you a lot on this one! From what I understood from the film, elves are tied with nature and share a deep connection with it. It would be natural (ha-ha) for him to want to spend time with you there! And of course, the more secluded from humans, the better. It doesn't necessarily have to be super tough hikes (although he would enjoy them and would have no difficulty conquering steep hills or getting lost in thick forests) - he understands that you may not be built for that and takes great pleasure even in taking a calm walk through the woods or a park.
Just imagine him walking next to you (so he can protect you if anything happens), telling you stories of the spirits who live in the wilderness, occasionally touching the bark of ancient oaks and beech trees with reverence while listening to them talk. You would have the privilege of knowing the language of the forest thanks to him. 🌳
Is he a dog or a cat elf?
I'm a bit torn on this one. I think he definitely has a soft spot for all kinds of animals (think of the scene where he slaughters the police officers, but leaves the dogs alive). I believe that he has great respect for all things relating to nature. That said, for the kind of life that he lives, I believe he could enjoy a dog companion that fights with him and accompanies him on his adventures! As for cats, I can see him having a horde of stray cats that live in his nest in the sewers, maybe cuddling up to him while he studies his next move or tinkers with his elvish technology. They just like spending time around him because he has a peaceful presence and spares them treats from time to time. In turn, the cats get rid of the rats, so it's a favorable deal for both parties.
Would he be down to spend a lazy day in bed cuddling his partner?
If he cared about you so much to consider you his partner, I believe there is little he wouldn't do for you! If you're feeling tired, are sick, or simply want to spend time with him away from the chaos of the human world, he would take you to his lair and cuddle you there, keeping you fully to himself. You could also convince him to spend time in your home, teaching him about human technology or entertainment to show him that humans are capable of creating something beautiful, and not just destruction.
What would he do for his partner during a holiday?
I think he would honor elvish tradition and give you gifts or partake in traditional elvish holiday festivities with you! His culture is sacred to him, and nothing would make him happier than sharing that part of him with you. He weaves flower crowns out of rare flowers for you, dances under the stars on summer nights and even has a weapon crafted for you, such as a small knife, in the event he is not there to protect you (although he never lets you out of his sight, if possible).
Of all human holidays, I bet he'd enjoy Halloween the most. Going around scaring humans? The fashion? Seeing you dressed as a mystical creature? He's all for it!
Tumblr media
When you think of the word “Princess” what do you believe a princess is?
The daughter of a king and queen who rules over a kingdom of their own. The consort of a prince who can later make her become a queen of higher standing. A woman of high rank or of high standing in her class or profession with good skills and enough power of her own.
Your family’s princesses were all of the above with each definition. Someone who wanted to marry the princess to turn her into a queen. Someone who obeys her husband and behaves like a good wife. Someone who a man could have as a trophy to display.
That’s a princess.
You were the first princess to ever ruin the image of your family’s title.
Every since you met a boy name Tommy who not only was the laundry boy in your palace but a Satyr, you befriend him even when you found out about it. I mean who would think that a half goat half boy was dangerous right? And also since you didn’t fear him or said anything to the maids about him, you were reeled into a life where you and him had the most fun in the small town your parents ruled over. He taught you the amazing things about other creatures and how he wished for humans to get along with his kind so that no one has to fear anyone again. You swore secretly that you wanted to make his dream come true.
When your family found out, they immediately got rid of Tommy and you never learned whether he was dead or kicked out of the country. You were punished for keeping him a secret, and you were to never leave your room unless you were told to or else. You preoccupied yourself with the books in the library about trolls and fairies and it helps you learn more about them than you ever did with your family’s help. When your family suspected your change of perspective to mythical beings and how you wanted to make peace with them instead of ruling over some of them, you were banned from the only place you enjoy, unless you learned that creatures like Tommy were never to be seen as equals. Of course you refused to accept that and never saw your family eye to eye again.
Years went by and your role of a princess was fading every day. Maids and guards still served you every time you needed them, but it was hard for them to be loyal when your sister would command them to do small pranks or to just leave you be. And since she is your parents favorite, how could the servants oppose her demands? You didn’t blame them anyways and insisted to yourself that you were better alone. No suitors to ask for proposals, that belongs to your sister. No gifts on random days, your sister has them all. No attention or praises from your parents, you sister took their eyes away from you.
Your parents never did gave you the attention that you wanted from them than your sister who could easily ask by calling for them. Back then you thought, if you were more socializing, more full of yourself, and more of a show off than your sister, you could get attention from both your parents and suitors to pass on the family’s fame. Instead, you chose the route to avoid that possibility. To avoid accepting that creatures are monsters that deserve to rot and never step on man’s land. To avoid pretending to enjoy men who live to gloat and boast about their riches and palaces. You even promised yourself many times that you would never get married to a man like that, or any man at all.
That is until your father at the dinner table gave you and your sister a announcement.
“We’ll be visiting the Bethmoora clan to have a peaceful agreement with lands and supplies. I want both of you to behave and go along with the plan I have in mind to help our land and kingdom. That is all.” He said before leaving the dining room where my sister and I were left with our mother. She smiled at us and told us to get ready to meet them and to look very nice and cute. After my sister left I asked my mom why would they want to talk to us? She frowned and stood up from her seat walking towards you. “Your father wants to expand our land and make more people live here so that people can pay more for the construction of homes, shops and businesses. He loves to own a lot of land, and the clan seem to not like that much. So he believes he can convince them to gives us some land so that he can give supplies to them.” She pushes you towards the door and lets you off with a small comment. “But I wouldn’t worry about that dear. After all a good princess doesn’t worry about affairs or anything that a king won’t have trouble with.” And she closes the door. Does she really think that a affair like this is important to know for the occasion?
After getting ready for a business meeting that you might not have importance in, you family were set off to the land that the Bethmoora clan owned and saw many of them growing crops that you’ve every seen in your life. Your sister seemed to snicker at your gaze. “What is so funny dear sister?” You ask with a slight low tone. “Oh nothing little sister!” She said with a slight smirk. “It’s just it’s funny how your amazed at this many crops when there’s lots of markets at our home that has those in display-oops!” She covered her smile. “I forgot! You haven’t been out for so long! I’m sorry forgive me little sister!” She giggled. Man she really gets on your nerves a lot does she? Makes you wonder how you two got along before you saw how she really was when she wasn’t near you.
“Oh girls! Chins up! Remember to give perfect impressions!” Mother stated before leaving the carriage. Your older sister went after you. You were astonish of how the clan could be so beautiful with a small palace of their own. Even the small houses you passed were so pretty compare to the ones back home. And you were interested of how each elf looks exactly the same but yet so different from one another. It confuses you and intrigues you equally. When your family were greeted by the advisor who said that they were to wait at the dining room for the king, your sister couldn’t help but voice her thoughts out loud. “And will the prince be there?” She asked with curiosity is her face. Your face would look unimpressed and your eyes rolled up. It wasn’t surprising that your sister would be happy to know that 1) the king has a son and that 2) would be interested of what he looks like and what he does. She was just as curious as any girl who learns of a prince in their father’s business matters. “Yes your highness” the advisor said with a neutral tone “he and his sister the princess will be with his majesty at the dining room. They are just getting ready and will meet with you all momentarily.” He said while guiding all of you to the room. Before you could sit in a chair, you mother made a request to your father. “Oh! Honey, don’t you think that our youngest will grow tired and lost from this meeting?” She asked your father while you look at her bewildered. Is she trying to ask father to make you leave the room? In a palace you don’t know of? “I don’t mind being quiet if that’s what your worried about mother.” You try to testify but your father held up a hand. “It’s alright darling. If you want to roam around but not too far, you are excuse from this meeting. It will only take maybe a hour at best.” He said with a small grin and a reassuring tone. “What about dear sister?” You gesture to her. “Will you get bored of meetings like these? You use to say that affairs were not suited for you.” You said while you look at her. “She might be needed for this so just be on your way. Ask the advisor if there’s a place you would like to visit.” He shows you with his left hand. “Run along now, let us handle this dear.” You were left outside the room while the advisor even seemed surprised by this action. “My apologies for my family.” You reassured him while he look at the door then to you. “Why do they treat you different if I may ask?” “They don’t wanna say bluntly that they don’t want me here but because I’m part of the family, I have to participate in events like family meetings or social gatherings that involve us. It’s not new for me so don’t worry.” You look down while saying that last part. It really wasn’t new that your family didn’t have high expectations for you. You’d don’t care though. Not so much though. “So!” You look at him while he seemed to have straighten his posture. Was he looking down somewhere? “You wouldn’t happen to have a library I can past the time with by chance?” He seem to be surprised by this type of request. I guess no princess visits libraries now often? “Oh of course! Right this way!” Let’s hope that you have time to explore the palace while you still can. You would loved to hope that this meeting isn’t long enough for you all to stay long. You also hope that you won’t bump into your sister’s new crush. Oh that would be exhausting.
Ok this might become a small series due to how I didn’t know a text maximum! Oops…hope you guys enjoy this and hope for part 2! Thank you for reading!
Prince Nuada X Agent Reader Headcanons
Tumblr media
A/N: Might turn this into a fic tbh. seems like more of a summary of a story then HCs haha. Hopefully these are enough for ya'll to enjoy
Pairing(s): Prince Nuada X Agent!Reader
Characters: Prince Nuada, Reader, Hellboy, Nuala
Link: Hellboy
⚠️ Warnings!: minor bits of non-descript violence, not canon compliant, kidnapping
______________________________________________________________
✨Being on the opposing side of the main conflict in HB2, it took a long time for Nuada to even consider you an ally, let alone later, a lover.
✨He first met you at the Troll Market, when you stumbled upon him. You were investigating a lead which ended up with the two of you fighting in one of the less populated parts of the market. Down a side-street.
✨He was impressed with your ability to wield a crossbow, along with quick-thinking hand-to-hand combat. Having been trained in several different martial art styles, you were able to hold you own. However, you had a hard time keeping up with Nuada's inhuman agility. In the end you were spared by taking your fight to a slightly more populated area and disappearing into a crowd due to him hesitating to kill you.
✨This is where the seed was planted for him to take notice of you. His feelings are still largely negative, with your next confrontation being at the library when Nuada comes for his sisters half of the crown.
✨He and Hellboy fight, but you end up cutting in after Hellboy is injured and end up having another fight with Nuada yourself. Instead of killing you, he ends up almost fatally injuring you. You end up spending the final confrontation in critical condition recovering in a medical wing of the BRPD
✨The crown is destroyed and Nuada + Nuala both survive the events of HB2. Nuada is taken in as a prisoner of war by the BRPD.
✨While Nuala picks up the pieces of her shattered people, creating a treaty with humanity to find above-ground land her people can live on, Nuada is planning his escape.
✨You've been assigned to helping with relations between Nuala and members of BRPD who are seeking to create beneficial relations between their bureau and the Bethmoran people
✨You end up confronting him while in captivity about him nearly killing you, and expressing that if he ever escaped you would hunt him down.
✨Seeing your scars visible from how he injured you, while he's still filled with hatred, there is a tinge of regret for hurting you.
✨His sister wants to give Nuada a second chance to do something for his people by contributing valuable information from his travels in order to determine what land would be beneficial to move the new Bethmora to.
✨He see's her attempts at relations with humanity as a futile attempt and continues to refuse to help. However, when you threaten to leave him to rot as you are one of the only people who he will get to see, Nuada says he will offer some help if you come back the next day.
✨Thus begins the tentative relationship between the two of you, as he offers a little info each visit, his spite lessening slowly.
✨As you begin to create some weird comfortable rhythm to your visits, Nuada starts to open up a little about his past and debate you on your people (humanity).
✨Though you do argue, and have many differing opinions on the topics, Nuada is feeling conflicted about what are starting to become feelings of familiarity and affection towards you.
✨He hates himself for starting to have feelings towards an Agent in the BRPD let alone a human. However, this won't stop him in his pursuit to escape his prison and get revenge.
✨Eventually he will have all he needs in order to finally break out of the BRPD. While doing so, he ends up confronting you again.
✨Your fight goes a little better with you nearly defeating Nuada. However, he does get the upper hand and manages to disarm you. However, instead of killing you, he takes you hostage as a bargaining chip to use against the BRPD
✨During this kidnapping you end up having even more heated arguments about how what he's doing is wrong, and his feelings towards you gives him even more inner conflict about what he is doing.
✨He takes you to one of his hideouts in the tunnels of the subway system beneath the city. There you end up noticing for the first time his reluctance to hurt you badly, unlike before.
✨You confront him about this and he admits on some level that he has started to like you, and it is something he wants to quash.
✨This realization starts to make you think more about your own conflicted feelings, and how there might be something there within you which could be affection.
✨In the end, although you are on differing sides of a conflict, tension builds to a breaking point and you end up sharing a kiss.
✨This creates even more conflicting emotions within you both. Nuada tries to distance himself, and you try to figure out what you are going to do.
✨Finally you make the decision that whatever this is between you, it isn't as important as what Nuala is doing for her people. You can't let Nuada use you or whatever he's planning to destroy the relations between humanity and the Bethmoran people.
✨Planning your own escape, you find the right opportunity to get away, taking advantage of Nuada's affection for you and your training as an agent to disappear.
These are a lot of HCs so I'm gonna leave it there. I think any more and this would be the plot to a novel lmao
DEATH CHERISHES YOU | nuada silverlance x fem!reader;
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the bloodstains on the stairs that had brought him here could be compared to breadcrumbs. step by step he was moving away from the original destination, consciously choosing to approach a new one. this one may not have been such an urgent matter for the prince, but another opportunity might not present itself for a long time to come.
farther on, the traces went away from the stairs and into the depths of the hall, from where a familiar dripping sound reached his ears. even at a distance it was effortless for nuada to hear all the breaths in and out of the person in there, so anyway, by the time his presence was noticed and all sounds suddenly stopped, it was definitely too late.
“you are easy to find, even when you're hiding.” he spoke first and purposely omitted the greeting, “shouldn't someone be watching you?”
“do they have to?” the voice from the darkness answered him with a question, “all my caretakers are busy at the moment. why don't you come visit me later?”
he stepped unobstructed around one of the columns on his right side and could now see the one talking to him from the back. it would be a pretty vulnerable position for another even without a bleeding wound on her arm. but he had more than once been able to see that she was not much bothered by this dangerous proximity. y/n was judged to be reckless and at times just a less skilled member of the team, which, nuada could tell, was hardly the truth.
“with seven nannies the child still loses an eye. are you familiar with that saying?”
“i am.”
it was very polite of her to answer him first, and only then to immediately clamp the end of the cloth with her teeth to tear it in two. the injury was deep enough that blood trickled from her hand to the floor, but y/n handled it with a dexterity that a less skilled member of the team could only envy.
“it's all a total waste of your blood.” he remarked, watching the small puddle below where she was sitting. there was all sorts of junk scattered everywhere. and the smell… it alone could suffocate a human victim.
“that troll has eaten over a dozen teenagers, in case you're wondering.” she forced herself to turn around and look at the expression on his face only to see nothing but a slightly raised eyebrow.
“one more ogre, one less.” he also gave her a nonchalant shrug, “there's not enough of you to catch them all anyway.”
“i’m not surprised you're more than okay with that information.” she said to his face before turning away again, continued to bandaging her arm and willfully badly playing the part where she wasn't dying to know what he was up to, “it just proves that an ogre as the only reason would hardly have caught your attention. so in that case, what brought the prince here?”
“the same as you.” it didn't cost him anything to tell her the truth, knowing there was probably nothing she could do about it, “it took me a lot of time and resources to find anything about this place myself.” except that what she wanted to get from him was different from what he'd come to share, “you did a great job, honestly. but it's for sure not the one that impresses me the most.”
it lasted less than a couple seconds, the way she stopped moving altogether, as if one single hint from him had paralyzed her to the bone. it was clear that the slightest interest shown in her ability would be met with the utmost wariness, which proved she was many things, but certainly not reckless.
“do me a favour, given my situation, and instead tell me if i should start worrying or not? it'll take me a while to remember where i left the gun.”
“oh, a gun, how uncivilised,” he said in a bored tone, “you have more delicate weapons with you. but i doubt you'll resort to any of them.”
“and why is that?” she asked, trying to stay focused, “i kept you from dying once because it was fair to your people. but for the second time, i hope your sister will forgive me for my non-interference.” her last words came out floating in a trembling voice. she was for now done with the bandage and turned to his side, with her hand clasped to her chest.
she seemed kind of particularly susceptible right now, and his years of being a corruptor suggested this might be a good moment to get close to her. but nuada's choice was to stay where he stood. from the beginning he was carrying this belief that y/n would want to know more without him seducing her into it. that's why he came. so he could see it for himself.
“by letting me live, you risked the fate of mankind by putting the interests of our race first. it's only fair for me not to fight you.”
“what a noble act. i know a few people for whom to take that chance would be enough to keep them happy for the rest of their lives.”
it might have seemed like an unnecessarily rude response, but it was clear to both of them that she was simply using the language of facts.
“and i will put my sister's name on that list with my own hand.” he confirmed it, “but as we've seen, that's not an acceptable outcome for you.” he paused to allow her to dispute it, but y/n only raised an eyebrow at him skeptically, willing to hear his explanation, “i'm going to guess that you've thought about the possible consequences of this decision of yours so often that you're now equally afraid of it and eager to discover it. you,” he pointed at her with an open palm, “already have so much of me in your thoughts that it's easier to let me go just to finally see.”
for a few seconds they looked silently into each other's eyes, almost like examining that gaze for recognition.
“if so,” then, as nuada assumed she would, y/n found an answer way too quick for someone for whom what she'd heard would be new, “i think it won't sound too presumptuous that to come to those conclusions you must have thought a lot of me yourself.”
the next thing the prince heard was his own laughter. how she succeeded in making a fool of him so easily by saying it caused him to laugh about it absolutely sincerely. it was so human, he couldn't even be prepared for it.
“that was a dirty trick.” she admitted before he could, “in my defense, it's getting hard to keep my attention, so..” she reached for the walkie-talkie fixed to her belt, but before she pressed it, she looked at the prince once more, “if you'll excuse me.”
“please.” nuada only said.
“death jr. to red.” y/n switched, bringing the radio to her lips, “death jr. to red. we have a royal guest in the neighborhood. over.”
he smirked and nodded in understanding, “as a good team member should.”
y/n said nothing more and just watched him escaping casually into the darkness again. from there he added, “i hope by the next time when we get a chance to finish our conversation, you don't have so much blood on you, my dear. although i must say that red suits you well.”
Nuada was a disciplined elf. He spent hours pouring over books and stone tablets in his lord father's great library. When he was not reading, he was sparring.
The crown prince was a warrior without peer, so the singers said. Even when he was but an elfling, it was said no match could be found for Nuada's gift with spears and swords. His father, the high king of all elves, considered him to be the greatest warrior of their people. And the most accomplished. The prince was not just gifted with the blade and well-read; he was also skilled in craftmanship and music and even dancing. It was a strange thing indeed, to see such a brutal warrior glide across a hall like a feather on the wind.
Handsome and charming and dangerous in equal measure, the prince never wanted for company. Nuada was always surrounded by beautiful maidens, all of them vying for his attention. He was unwed, you see, and was expected to take a wife. That was one of his duties: to marry a maiden of the highest birth and produce an heir. The prince understood this. He was more than willing to pledge himself to marriage, but he just needed time to find a bride worthy of him. Until then, he decided, he would find other means to satisfy his needs, for he was a warrior, and as disciplined as he was, he had a warrior's many appetites.
Of course, it must be said that the prince would never sate his hunger by taking another elf to bed. Oh no. Nuada abhorred the very notion of sullying one of his own people that way, no matter how lowborn the elf in question may be. He turned his eyes to the servants instead. They were all mortal hostages taken by his lord father after a great and terrible war. King Balor tolerated them as well as he could manage, and turned a blind eye to how they were treated, provided certain decencies were observed. Those decencies were simple enough: No torture. No working servants to death. No forced couplings. Alas, these edicts had many and more cracks to find if one knew how to find them.
And Nuada found one precisely to his liking.
"Why are you whimpering, little mortal? He grunted. "I thought a good little whore like you wanted nothing less than being bedded by the crown prince Bethmoora."
Whore. That was the choice word he called her, among other things. And yes, y/n did desire the crown prince ever since the moment she first saw him. Her dreams had been haunted by sweet and tender visions of him wooing her before bedding her. She thought that should her dream ever become reality, he would be as generous and courteous and gentle with her as he was with the ladies of his father's court. Such blissful ignorance only lasted until he caught her looking one night while serving his dinner. The prince only waited till his guests took their leave of him before asking her to sink to her knees. He had caressed her cheek, almost in affection, and insisted she open her mouth for him. Not knowing what was expected of her, y/n obeyed. So much had changed since then.
She jolted when he slapped her thigh. His hand was large and had been roughened by centuries of fighting and wielding weapons. It left a mark all of its own. He slapped her thigh again and dug his nails into her flesh. Y/n licked her lips. The prince was expecting an answer.
"I whimper out of pleasure, your highness," she replied as fast as she could, hoping it would please him. She may have felt some pleasure; it was true, but it was so little. The prince would slake his lust upon her body and chase his release, and show little care for her own. As soon as he was satisfied, Nuada would order her to dress and leave.
"You are not lying to me, yes? You do know what happens when people lie to me, yes?"
"I know, your highness. I am not lying, your highness."
Nuada grunted and grabbed her hips, muttering indencies in her ear the entire time. His hands left bruises wherever they touched. Sometime he held her so hard her body would be sore for several days after. Then there were the things he called her, not caring about how they might make her feel. Y/n would not have minded any of it had he shown any interest in her during the act. Or showed concern for her after it.
"Such a good little whore," he said, picking up his tortuous pace and thrusting even harder, filling her as deeply as he could. His nails dug into delicate skin, leaving bruises in their wake. "But you must be fucking silent. I like you that way. Is that understood?"
"Yes, your highness." Y/n lowered her arms and rested her head against the pillows. That allowed the prince to find another angle. He rammed her and found a new place that made her moan long and deep.
"I said be silent!" He barked at her and soon lost himself in her flesh. Nuada moaned and grew drunk on the sound of his thighs slapping against hers. He chose well, he thought. Y/n was meek and discrete and obedient, a maiden who had not known the touch of men until him. She was so soft, her skin warm, and her cunt plush and sinful whenever it fluttered and tightened around his cock. Then there was that sweet little mouth of hers. Nuada enjoyed seeing it swollen and glistening with the remnants of his spend.
The bed creaked softly. Y/n bit her lip and buried her face in the pillows. A heady mixture of pleasure and pain overwhelmed her even as fresh tears coursed down her cheeks. They had sprung from the knowledge that she was a mere plaything to the prince, someone he could use and throw aside once someone worthy of him was in the offing. And there would be someone worthy. Nuada would take an elf-maid hailing from only the highest of births for a wife. She, on the other hand, was a mere mortal, the only child of a petty king who dared to march against King Balor.
"If only your pathetic father could see you now," Nuada grunts and stops just long enough to reach over to gather her wrists. One hand tightens over them, keeping them behind her back. The other curled around her hair. He tugged hard whenever he sheathed himself in her. "A slut servicing her master."
Her father had been allowed to live on the condition that she be sent to court as a hostage. He had no say in where she was placed or whom she had to serve. He was not allowed to know, either. Perhaps this was a mercy.
The air grew thick and heated. The room felt uncommonly warm. Y/n's neck ached from Nuada tugging her hair. Her entire body trembled with each violent thrust. Tiny beads of sweat formed over her skin. Her breath had reduced to shallow gasps and pants. A sweet tension gathered in her core. She was close. So close. But the question remained: will the prince let her have her pleasure just this once?
That was not to be. Nuada felt the coiling in his belly. He was on the precipice of his release, and he had no intention of spilling his seed in y/n's slick heat. As glorious as that would be, he did not wish to risk planting a halfling bastard in y/n's belly. The elves were the children of the earth. The golden blood of the true ancients and the elder gods flowed strong in their veins, and Nauda would never dream of mingling his blood with that of a lesser creature. He drew back and got out of bed, pulling y/n with him as he did. She knew what was to happen next and did well to hide the sadness welling within her.
"Open," he commanded, after she settled on her knees.
Y/n obeyed, letting her mouth go slack while he sank his length all the way in. She kept still while he set the pace, her breath filled with the clean scent of him. His cock was warm and heavy on her tongue. Y/n tightened her lips just enough, just as he taught her the first night. He moaned. She opened her eyes. His head was thrown back, and his mouth was slightly parted. Nuada moved, fucking her mouth and grunting whenever that sinful tongue of hers glided along his member. He sighed wistfully, grabbed at her hair, and went faster and deeper, delighting in the little gagging sounds she made. All y/n could do was keep her hands on her thighs and let Nuada enjoy himself. She was not allowed to touch him during the act or speak to him unless spoken to. He delighted in that too, for he believed that was where mortals like her belonged. Silent and by the feet of their betters.
A few more moments were all it took. "Fuck," Nuada muttered while his cock throbbed and twitched and a warm torrent of his spend spilled onto y/n's tongue. He pressed himself hard against her lips while still riding the high of his orgasm, groaning one last time before finally pulling his cock out of her mouth. The prince ran a thumb over the servant girl's lips, pleased to find them glistening and swollen as always.
"Swallow," he commanded, and brushed a thumb over her tears. He brought it to his mouth, as if to savor the taste. "Swallow my spend like the good whore that you are."
Y/n obeyed, trying not wrinkle her face when the salty essence of him washed down her throat. She knew Nuada would not let her leave until she had swallowed every last drop. Nuada grunted in approval when she opened her mouth and he found it empty. He lifted y/n to her feet and kissed her hard on the lips, his fingers digging into her skin. When he pulled away his eyes glinted in savage triumph.
"Get dressed, and then get out," he said without even looking at her. "I have had my fill of you this night."
Y/n gathered her clothes. Her fingers trembled, as if they had all turned to thumbs. She fumbled with the lacing on her dress, the ties of her neat little apron. She glanced at him. Many a turn of the moon had come and gone since their first coupling, and the prince could not bring himself to even pretend to show her a shred of kindness and respect. Y/n sniffled and looked away.
Nuada made a sound of disgust. "Spare me the sad little doe eyes. I will not fall for it. Now get out and get one of the others to draw me a bath."
Y/n slipped into her shoes and fled into the cold and empty darkness, finding it a welcome relief to the prince's company.
Chapter 6
“I am willing to negotiate with you.”
Lara arched an eyebrow. “Now?”
“You were the one that attacked me.” Nuada pointed out. “I am being generous.”
“I attacked you?” She repeated incredulously. “You mean after you broke into my home -twice- and attacked me?”
“I attacked you last night because you were too close. You attacked me when I was trying to have a conversation with you.”
She snorted. “Right.” She took a deep breath in. Almost every single part of her body hurt and her throat was still bothering her from when he tried to choke her -five minutes ago.
However, Lara wasn’t an idiot and it was beyond clear that she couldn’t take this guy on. So, sure… They could try talking again.
“Listen, I just found out about this bookstore.” She eyed the picture that had saved her life. “I didn’t know my father had property in Ireland, much less this.”
“Your father had more than that.” He told her coldly. “He was in possession of something that belongs to my people. I want it back.”
“What is it?”
He narrowed his eyes. “None of your business, human.”
She hummed thoughtfully. “If I don’t know what it is, how can I help you?”
“I don’t need your help, just your permission to enter the place.”
“Is this you negotiating?” She snorted.
“Yes. In a minute I will start torturing your friends.” He eyed the two men. “I will start with the younger one.”
Lara narrowed her eyes at him. “Don’t threaten my people.” She warned him. “That’s not how you’ll get me to do anything for you.”
He sighed like she was particularly tiresome. “What do you want?”
“Answers. I don’t particularly care about whatever you’re after, but I want to know how my father was involved in this. And why?”
Nuada seemed to think about it. “How can I trust you?”
“You don’t need to trust me. We both know you can take me out at any time.” She pointed out. “I’m the one taking the bigger risk here, because you can kill me as soon as you get inside that bookstore and I can’t stop you.”
The corner of his mouth ticked up. “You are smart for a human. So why should you trust me?”
“I don’t, but if I want answers I’ll have to try.” She crossed her arms. “Is this enough negotiating for you?”
“It is sufficient.” He decided. “We leave soon.”
“Is tomorrow soon enough for you, Your Highness?” She replied tartly.
“At least you know your place, human.”
Lara narrowed her eyes at him. What a fucking prick.
