i love the insane juxtaposition between how we talk about autism on tumblr vs on tiktok. on tiktok all everyone ever really discusses are the “easier” parts of autism, the “cute” ones like stimming, special interests and SOMETIMES, and HEAVY on the sometimes, they talk about the lack of tonal understanding and missing jokes and it’s like… dude that’s maybe 1/4 of what the Autism Experience™️ is… like i love tumblr bc we really talk about all the ugly parts on here like what is ACTUALLY means to go mute/nonverbal, or the daily struggles with hygiene and independence, the horrible feeling of knowing that you are fundamentally different from everyone around you and trying to mask but knowing they see through it and being compared to non human creatures to the point where you actually start feeling nonhuman!!! like okay missing the joke sometimes is annoying but yknow what’s worse? not being able to look after myself and knowing there’s a decently high chance that i’ll never be able to live alone. like i need tiktok autistic people to understand that in order for you to have autism, which is a disability, it does have to actually disable you first. i’m not saying that because they only post the “cuter” parts that they don’t have autism!! but like it’s an app full of teenagers and i feel the need to remind them that we all miss jokes sometimes, and we do all have interests and shows that we may really enjoy!! and that’s okay!!
but idk maybe i’m being bitter or smth i always get paranoid that i’m just being a hater but there’s not a single autistic person i know that hasn’t genuinely suffered bc of it in their lives whether it be in their social or personal or academic life. just a thought!!
[weird colours included bc huge chunks of text like this are gross to read otherwise lmfao]

Warning Writers and Artist
If you see this or something similar in your messages or asking about if your art uses AI or if you use AI for your fics, do not engage them directly.
There is someone going around that is outright accusing people of using AI for works of theirs and asking to prove it. Either through showing their process with a video but the platform they used or the programs and are just being pushy about it. And while it can feel tempting to answer, it is just to get to harass artist and writers into complying about AI in any works. And from a cursory glance, they seem be going after popular blogs/ artists/ or specific ships that are being asked to be questioned. (I will not name which ships as that is not my business but I will tag in ones I am familiar with).
As for the person that asked me this, I will be candid and say this: Asking someone if they use AI in their works is not conductive to ones time. I only have a cursory understanding of AI vs Human in the arts debate as I know there is a lot of discussions about it and yes, it is scary times because of the scraping of fics and art. I considers myself an artist/ writer, so I am a strong believer in human touch as being necessary for any artistic front. But the subject of AI tools is not something I know all details about and cannot provide an answer I would be confident I can provide a suitable answer to this conversation. Also keep in mind - Microsoft and/ google docs use AI for editing purposes or suggestions unless you turn it off, so make of that what you will. (Or if you have a plug in with AI that give a suggestion of what to write in some websites so there is that too).
But if you are the person that I have heard that is going around and asking people for proof of creation - it causing more headaches than good and asking for "proof of it" is also potentially harmful for showing this unnecessary proof. Such as exposing someones computer background information or anything on their computer or names on files linking actual real life people.
There are ways to make sure that art is not scraped - such as artist finding programs to prevent their images from being used for AI searches to writers using sites like Ao3 that offer locking works from getting scrapped from AI that at as guests that are not registered to the system. It is not prefect, but it is a start. If that is what you are looking to accomplish, then promote the good ways to prevent AI from scraping works from content creator and or finding new methods to promote human artist/ writers in fandoms.
Asking me if I use AI is not one of them. And no, I will not be proving myself or showing off my works for anyone's amusement to rile up drama. If you want to ask about my genuine thought process or ideas for fics and concerns if I use AI, ask in the comments below. Let's talk publicly about this.
Otherwise, I see this as just someone trying get me to cause drama before more content comes out for a certain fandom. And I don't have the time nor patience for people looking to cause issues because you are bored.

A sketch of the Woodsman's daughter, Anna, staring sadly out the window at night, her candle on the sill.
Now, I've not read the comics. Nor, from what I've seen and read about them, do I fully accept them as canon. But I do like some aspects of them, and am glad to keep them with my own headcanons.
So, for me, though I'm not sure I like all of Anna's storyline (or that specific group's characterization, really) in the comics, the concept that she was never taken by the Beast? that her father was the lost one, stolen away by the Unknown, all along? that she was there waiting all that time, never knowing?
It is poignant, and no one can tell me otherwise.

ok so i originally wrote this for facebook but im gonna share it here too. So, given everything that’s been going on lately, I thought I’d give everyone a brief lesson. Now, I’d like to preface this by saying that I am, in no way, an expert on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It’s the longest running world conflict and a very complex topic that I, like many, have only scratched the surface of. I’d also like to note, that UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES AM I DEFENDING THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT. What they’re doing is horrendous, and criminal under the Geneva convention (but i’m not an expert in war crimes either). References will be linked under the cut.
Okay, let’s start with a couple of definitions, shall we?
Jew: Someone who belongs to Judaism, either through birth or conversion.
Judaism: an Abrahamic ethno-religion (a religion that has a common ethnic background and thus can be treated both as ethnicity and as religion).
Zionism: a movement in favor of the self-determination and statehood for the Jewish people.
Zionist: a member of the Zionism movement.
Antisemitism: a prejudice against or hatred of Jews.
Ready? Alright, here we go.
1. American Jews have no say in the decisions of the Israeli government.
This one seems fairly obvious, but I’m gonna say it anyway. American Jews, unless they are at very high levels of our government, have no say in what the Israeli government does. Blaming Jews for the actions of the Israeli government is just a cover for antisemitism. Which leads me to number 2.
2. Being Jewish does not mean automatically supporting the actions of the Israeli government.
Note that I say the Israeli government, and not Israel itself (but I’ll get to that in a minute). The Israeli government has done some frankly awful things to Palestine and the Palestinians, particularly along the Gaza strip, and being Jewish does not mean that I automatically support this. In fact, speaking personally, think what the Israeli government has done is detestable and horrific. See the Aljazeera summary for a more complete history.
3. Being a Zionist does not necessarily mean being Pro-Israeli government or being Anti-Palestine.
Again, this one seems like common sense. Just because someone believes there should be a Jewish state does not mean they support the actions of the Israeli government. See number 2 and the Aljazeera summary. Which leads me to number 4.
4. You can support both the Zionism and Free Palestine movements.
This isn’t a contradiction. You can support the ideal of a Jewish state and also believe that the Palestinians have the same right to self-determination and statehood. In fact, these two ideas should absolutely exist side by side.
5. If you use the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as the basis for anti-Jewish rhetoric, you’re not progressive, you’re antisemitic.
See literally all of the above.
Antisemitism is at an all time high in the United States. According to the Anti-Defamation League, recorded antisemitic incidents in the US increased 36% from 2021 to 2022. We might like to think that antisemitism ended with the Holocaust, but it didn’t. It is still alive and kicking, and it is getting worse.
So criticize the Israeli government, criticize Hamas, support the people affected by this conflict. But don’t take it out on Jews. We’re as horrified as you are.

What did/do you like about Pharah?
Uh, gameplay-wise, I really love characters in shooters who rely on three-dimensional movement techs. Chaining together hover and jump to stay in the air for as long as possible and keep momentum is so satisfying, and picking enemies off from the sky made me feel like a bird of prey. I was a good Pharah main.
Story-wise, there unfortunately isn't much to canonically go off because Pharah is so underutilized and neglected. Her personality's pretty boilerplate "heroic hero" (she's literally inspired by Captain America).
But it's the crumbs/bits and pieces that I really latched onto. Pharah's a confirmed lesbian; her short story with Baptiste implies she harbors a crush on Mercy (fucking thank you.). She's biracial Egyptian/First Nations. She has major mommy issues, having grown up both admiring and resenting Ana. She's the bridge between Old Overwatch, inspired by the idealized heroes who surrounded her childhood, and New Overwatch. She's one of the only inter-generational characters in the cast; someone whose experiences span the gap, which is why I seriously believe Pharah would make a great main character.
There isn't much to go off of, though; she's a very uncomplicated character (she's a soldier for a private military corporation, lol.). But that just means she's a blank slate character, so I've seen fanfic writers run wild and create some really interesting takes on her. My favorite interpretation of her's a dense, herbo gym-bro type (a lot of her liens are about work outs, exercising, and playing sports) who's easily excitable under her seemingly self-serious, armored visage. We see how she tends to gloat and hype herself up when she's on a streak too, so Pharah definitely has a competitive and boastful side under her more professional and militant performance.
Now Mercy? Mercy is a real complex character.
