I didn’t quite understand the term

potential love

until I felt it for myself.

I look at them and see

an entire world of possibilities

just out of reach of my

fingertips.

Their dark hair and

slender muscular build

captivates me like a dancer’s

performance.

I feel my heart move and bend,

but the miles between us

do not allow trees to bend

over enough to become bridges.

Likewise,

His dorky smile and gentle gaze

leads me to wonder what could happen

if only someone has the courage.

His blond hair confuses me—

contradicting what normally

catches my eye.

And yet,

the change is pleasant

as my world is full of surprises.

As luck would have it,

miles separate me between my

potential loves,

and I am left to wonder if

potential

may be the most painful word

I know.
