A Lesson on Learning
Tumblr media
Brought to you by “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and Uncle Iroh
In season 2′s episode ‘Bitter Work’ Iroh is teaching Zuko how to bend lightning and the lesson that he uses to do so is one that can be applied to LITERALLY anything.
The lesson goes thus:(Quotes from IMDB)
Uncle Iroh: [Draws Fire symbol in the dirt] Fire is the element of power. The people of the Fire Nation have desire and will and the energy and drive to achieve what they want.
Uncle Iroh: [Draws Earth symbol] Earth is the element of substance. The people of the Earth Kingdom are diverse and strong. They are persistent and enduring.
Uncle Iroh: [Draws Air symbol] Air is the element of freedom. The Air Nomads detached themselves from worldly concerns and found peace and freedom. Also, they apparently had pretty good senses of humor.
Uncle Iroh: [Draws Water symbol] Water is the element of change. The people of the Water Tribes are capable of adapting to many things. They have a sense of community and love that holds them together through anything.
Prince Zuko: Why are you telling me these things?
Uncle Iroh: [Draws straight lines separating the four symbols] It is important to draw wisdom from many different places. If you take it from only one place, it become rigid and stale.
Uncle Iroh: [Draws a circle around all four symbols] Understanding others, the other elements, and the other nations, will help you become whole.
Prince Zuko: All this four elements talk is sounding like Avatar stuff.
Uncle Iroh: It is the combination of the four elements in one person that makes the Avatar so powerful. But it can make you more powerful, too. image
Tumblr media
Now, this can obviously be applied to witchcraft and magic in general, paganism or any spiritual path, our moral paths, our personal lives and any work that we do. Because Iroh is right (when is he not?).
If we simplify our focus to one thing, one source, one single pillar of thought, we limit it and it becomes rigid and stale as he said, but also weak and fallible. If we instead learn to draw inspiration, wisdom and knowledge from differing sources, seeing how they work together as a whole, we strengthen the foundation of our own beliefs, our own knowledge.
This most obviously applies to studies of the elements, as it is the entire premise of the show and the quote itself. From that we can draw so many varied conclusions though! How do the above elements work together? Is there overlap between any of them? Do they together form other things- or change each other into the other elements? How do they impact one another? How can studying one in turn help you to study the others?
I digress… It’s just one of my favorite quotes from the show. But if you’d like me to extrapolate on this some more, just let me know or message me and we can discuss it! :)

Was just thinking about the real take off of fandom, and it surrounding McSpirk.
Any pop culture pagans work with these guys?
Like, the gods of the gays, the queers, those who love the sciences and arts, fandom in general. Healing for McCoy. Meditation for Spock. Acquiring new knowledge could be Spock’s domain. Crossing gender could be Jim’s, as well as calling on him for protection, for anything queer related, or even strength to get through something.
Anyone know if this has been done?

Offering to Azura
Azura, goddess of dusk and Dawn, vanity and egotism, magic and mystery, and fate and prophecy.
She has many associations and therefore you can give her many offerings to gain her favor.
One of the main things you can give her is attention. As the goddess of Vanity, if you give her your attention and affection that will count as offering enough.
Other offerings could include perfumes, as her realm is said to be filled with roses. You can also offer silver, as her realm also contains a city made of silver
Another offering could be gems or star iconography to represent her artifact, Azuras Star.
You can also give her keys, as in Kahjiit mythology Azura (or Azurah) is said to have a collection of keys, one of which was stolen by Nocturnal (or Noctra)
You can also offer mirrors to feed her vanity, cat iconography to represent the Kahjiit, moon and star iconography as those are her two main symbols.
As the goddess of magic and prophecy, you can do any kind of divination or spell work in honor of her.
Her summoning day is known as Hogithum, which takes place on the 21st of First Seed, or March 21st.

Hyrule(an Magic) Historia: An Effort for Archival
Greetings. It's my first time posting on this blog, so it's nice to meet you all.
The purpose of this post is to detail my behind-the-scenes effort to archive as many of the lost Hyrulean Paganism/Magic blogs and posts as possible. For those unaware, in the mid-2010s, there was a "renaissance" of The Legend of Zelda Pop Culture Pagan posts and blogs. The pantheon/practice went by many names, such as Mudoran Magic, Hyrulean/Hylian Magic, Hyrulean Paganism, etc. As a result, efforts to find remaining content can be complicated, especially when perusing tags. Different phrases were used for various blogs and posts, sometimes leading to dead ends.
Thankfully, there are some leads. @lostwoodstarryskies made a list of blogs, both old and new, here. This is a good start and helps navigate search engines such as Google more efficiently. Additionally, this post by the now-defunct @/hylianshrinemaiden (more on her later) lists additional blogs.
Now, to Twili (hylianshrinemaiden). While we (the Magic Collective) weren't in the same Pop Culture Pagan circles at the same time, it's clear she was a pillar in the community. It's a shame that she and other active members deleted their blogs, as Tumblr's archival system is half-functional at best. There is some hope of recovering her blog, however. @hyrulian-legends reblogged this post from her, listing various spells and resources from her. While it's not entirely clear if this list is her complete work, it at least gives names to her work. Through this list, I've had some luck on Google, and a surviving reblog of her Minish Cap Glamour was found here. I'm not sure what else is available, as I became un-frontstuck when I was planning on searching further. (Such is the way of systems.)
I plan on delving further into what remains, and I'm very grateful to the remaining community members for their advice on where to look. Many thanks, in particular, to @knightofhylia, @knightofhylia-sageofthetriforce, @wind-sage-serin, and @lostwoodstarryskies. Additionally, those in the Community of Hyrulean Faiths Discord server provide resources.
There remain some posts in the Collective's communal Likes that we plan on sharing upon adding to our Grimoire document, so expect those somewhere down the line. In the meantime, I'll continue my search and bring updates whenever possible.
Sincerely,
Vaati the Wind Mage 🌪️

Hey! Do you think you'd ever be willing to talk about pop culture work one on one with someone? (on Tumblr of course) I keep trying to learn about it but its so hard to start learning about
I prefer Discord when it comes to one-on-one or group conversations because Tumblr's messaging system is hell on my brain. Discord also lets me pause when someone else is typing so I can make sure I address all concerns. I'm jespurrwizard on there, feel free to shoot me a friend request!
As for where to start...there's a lot, and because pop culture magic and paganism alike are so personal, it's pretty hard to give a good starting point, because there are so many! I have a masterpost of resources that are pretty broad-scale (as in, not focused on particular media) so you can get the gist of the thoughts of myself and others. I highly recommend deciding what you want pop culture magic and/or paganism to be like and about for you before you dig into the weeds, though.
So yeah, feel free to shoot me a friend request on Discord! I'm happy to chat! I promise I don't bite...much.

PCWT: Closet Crafting, Discreet Devotions, and Inconspicuous Altars
Tumblr media
So while not necessarily in the full vein of Pop Culture Witchcraft and Pop Culture Paganism, I’ve had several requests regarding how to work one’s craft discreetly. And so I thought, why not put a little PCW spin on things while I’m at it at least?
Whether it’s a nervousness about being open as a witch, wanting to be more subtle, or in some cases harsh living situations, there’s several reasons to want to be perhaps more inconspicuous in one’s inner ways. Though in the case of the latter situation in particular, --please-- make sure to put your personal safety and well-being first before trying any of these tips. We cannot guarantee that you won’t get in any sort of trouble for these.
Starting off, we have
In-Game Ideas
Do you devote yourself to anyone in particular when it comes to Pop Culture Witchcraft or Pop Culture Paganism that stems from a game-based source? Do you enjoy playing games focused on decorating, building, or life simulators? Then why not try these tips!
Try making an altar or devotional space in games such as Animal Crossing, The Sims, Minecraft using in-game items or even modded items! Rooms and spaces can easily be made for general purposes such as elemental altars, nature-based altars, and depending on who you work with, even items that pertain to them in particular
Use games such as the aforementioned Animal Crossing or The Sims as a form of sympathetic magic! Want to focus on self-care and inner beauty? Why not give gifts to your favorite “Snooty” villager who represents those aspects? Want to perhaps make some misfortune come to someone? Make them into a Sim and get up to some mischief with their Sim-Poppet!
Don’t have space to do your own gardening but want to still do some sort of green witchery? Why not try farming sims such as Stardew Valley or Story of Seasons to scratch that botanical itch for the time being? You can even make digital spell jars in some cases by growing the plants that best represent your purpose and placing them in chests with other items that may also best represent that purpose?
These are just some possibilities in the way of In-Game methods of spellcrafting and the like, but what about those hidden little shows of devotion or love towards someone you work with outside of their mediums?
Discreet Devotions and Obscured Offerings
Hear me out: Devotional Ita Bags. Collect charms, pins, stickers, etc. of who or whatever you work with! Work with a traditional pertaining to solar energies? Why not a brightly colored bag with sun-based imagery? Work with a pop culture deity/entity/spirtit/etc.? Places like Etsy and Redbubble just to name a few have plenty of options when it comes to fan-merch (of course make sure that the stuff from Redbubble is not stolen from other artists)
Playing an RPG game or something similar? Why not devote a playthrough for whomever you wish? Make your character a hunter-based class in honor of someone associated with hunting and the wild! Pop Culture Wise, if working with a game characters, why not play as them if applicable or even bring positive actions to your character of choice? Boost their stats, complete some quests, the whole nine-yards for them!
We’ve mentioned this before, but why not try making private moodboards, Pinterest collections, or even music playlists for whomever you work with? Energy and devotion is still energy and devotion no matter the medium, ancient and traditional or even modern and tech-focused. At the end of the day, it’s your safety and comfort that matters the most.
While this isn’t a complete list of ideas, here’s a few to get yourself started! But as we’ve said before,
Do not compromise your health, safety, and/or financial stability for the sake of your craft.
You. Come. First.
But as always,
Stay safe, have fun, stay spooky! 🦇💜

Alternatives to telepathic communication
hey y’all! I just wanted to compile my own little list of communication methods that aren’t telepathic, as I struggle a bit with that sorta stuff and it’s kinda annoying seeing posts that don’t really go in depth about how many different ways there are to communicate with spirits and egregores. So I decided to make this post for the people who struggle with that as well!
Tarot
tarot is one of my favorite methods of divination, so I wanted to start off this list with it, of course. It definitely deserves a post of its own on using it for communication, so I’m not gonna go too in depth. Plus, some people have strict parents, but there’s plenty of alternatives. But tarot is definitely one of those things that you should research on your own, because there’s way too much to be said, and I’m listing methods, not doing a crash course on tarot. But a good way to use it for communication is to interpret the images intuitively, and if you get stuck, only then try looking up the meaning of the card. Chances are you might get a feeling that doesn’t exactly relate to the card meaning, but trust your intuition! The best way of knowing what the spirit is saying is by trusting the first thing that comes to your mind. Don’t doubt yourself!
but anyway, if tarot interests you, feel free to research it!
Playing card divination
this form of divination is basically tarot’s slightly easier cousin. It works amazingly for yes/no questions as well! Plus it’s a good start for people who practice in secret. I personally used this method of communication when I first started working with J, and it’s helped me a bit with my intuition as well, as I was able to guess what he was up to without being overwhelmed by too many meanings.
Here’s a chart showing the meanings of each playing card, excluding jokers. I personally use one joker as the fool, and the second joker as the world. It’s up to you if you even want to use them though.
Tumblr media
There’s also an exercise for telepathy that can be mixed with cartomancy if you so choose! It involves drawing a card without looking and trying to intuitively guess if said card is red or black. If you do this with a spirit you can interpret the card after turning it over as well!
Shufflemancy
This form of divination is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING for beginners and closeted witches, as all you really need is a device that can play music, and most people have phones anyway! A lot of people recommend making a dedicated playlist for this form of divination, but I recommend using your entire music library if possible, because it can take a while to build a perfect shufflemancy playlist from scratch.
I’ve heard of 3 main ways to do shufflemancy, at least with a music streaming service like Spotify or Apple Music:
1: shuffling and skipping - this is the most common form of shufflemancy. It involves putting a playlist on shuffle and skipping a desired number of songs to get an answer to your question.
2: indicator songs - this involves assigning the spirit a song to represent them, and listening to music on shuffle. If the indicator song comes on, the song after will be their message. I use this method quite often since I usually listen to my liked songs on Spotify using shuffle anyway. You can even ask the spirit what they want their indicator song to be using the shuffling and skipping method!
3: asking the spirit - this method involves simply asking the spirit to play a song and pressing play on whatever playlist you’re using and seeing what comes up. If you feel the song relates to the spirit, then you’ve probably contacted them.
The only downside to shufflemancy is that you do have to have a wide range of music to get a decent reading, as it has better results the more variety you have. And another downside is that if you listen to a lot of instrumental music (like EDM, piano covers, etc) then you won’t have lyrics to go by, which kinda makes things a little harder. But it’s still a great method for beginners who want to practice their intuition!
Some general advice
TAKE NOTES! This is something that is definitely needed for this type of work, especially if you forget stuff easily. Take notes on what you ask, what card or song you get, the context and meanings. It will help you in the long run!
adding onto the first point, don’t be afraid to look up meanings! This mainly applies to tarot, as there are pre-established meanings for each card. Take notes on what you find!
Your intuition will always be above the traditional meanings. If you get a feeling that doesn’t align with the traditional meaning of what you’re looking at, it most likely means that you need to know whatever your intuition is trying to tell you. If you don’t get that feeling, that’s completely fine too.
that’s all for now, because I need to get this post out of my drafts. Let me know if you’d like a part 2, as there’s a bunch of other methods that I could list!

Palpatine's Deception
*A spell to keep your personal plans and goals hidden from those who could get in your way until the proper time*
Tumblr media
What you need
a black candle
a white candle
a small square of black cloth
red string
a piece of paper
a pen
a fire are dish
What to do
Prepare yourself however you need to. Meditate, ground and center, invoke a deity. Prepare your work space. Cast a circle, call the elements or raise whatever powers you need for the spell.
Write out the plan or intentions you have on the paper (a goal for work, home, money etc. I used this one to help me get a promotion last year. One five other people were gunning for, and got it)
Visualize in your mind that your plan is successful, that you’ve reached your goal, think clearly of each step you need to take to achieve this goal or execute this plan
Light the candles (and incense if you’re using any. I did not) Light the corner of the paper in either of the candles and burn it in the fire safe dish.
Collect the ashes carefully once they’re cool and put them in the black cloth
Tie the cloth closed with the red string, visualizing yourself going about reaching your goal, each step in the plan to your success going as you as you need it to. Visualize that those who could get in your way or interfere with your plan remain unaware of your goals and actions.
Carry the cloth sachet with you or keep it somewhere safe until you have successfully reached your goal or your plan has succeeded.
Once you have you can either keep it, or discard of it.

Best of luck and happy casting witches!

PROTECTIVE WARD: THE THREE SISTERS OF ROSALIA
Tumblr media
hello everyone — i’m back from my little sabbatical with a pretty ubiquitous ward. what you put into this ward is what you get out of it, and the limits of this ward are the limits of your creativity + resourcefulness. if you’re nifty enough, you’ll be able to use this ward for any type of purpose freely.
think of using this spell as downloading a program — in order to gain access to the copy of the program you’ve downloaded into your device (which in this case, downloaded into your reality), you must agree to the terms of use and understand the consequences that will ensue if you misuse this spell. it’s embedded into all copies of the spell cast, and any attempts to tamper it will be met with consequences ranging from the ward being disabled, or you being blocked from accessing any of the spells and spirits i’ve created in general.
anyone who is seeing this likely doesn’t have to worry about any backlash from the spell — the main rules:
A) don’t attempt to use this spell to intentionally harm / sabotage me or my loved ones with anything in their lives. this WILL work against you.
B) don’t attempt to change the source coding of the servitors (in this case, the three sisters) of this spell. while you can have them do various things + there are few limits to what you can stretch the spell to do for you — don’t try to control these spirits as if they were your own. this spell can be an incredibly useful tool for you and benefit your life, but don’t get too hasty about changing around the spell’s composition.
C) you can create something separate INSPIRED by this spell (w/ credit!) please treat this creation of mine with respect — in the best case scenario, any infringements will simply not work. if mimicking this spell comes from a place of envy, jealousy, or any baneful energies that encourage you to steal it and claim it as your own, your work will work against you. please use this with an authentic heart.
unsure of any of the conditions above before using? want some clarity? need to be reassured? feel free to dm me and i’ll address any concerns that you have.
now that we’re through all the formal stuff, let me get into the spell.
TABLE OF CONTENTS.
I. LORE
II. CASTING INSTRUCTIONS + SIGIL SHEET
III. ADDITIONAL DETAILS / SUGGESTIONS.
I. LORE
notes: why would i need this?
you know how in more popular forms of paganism, there is mythos that gives context to the energies that you’re working with + give you a deeper sense of how that energy will work with you and your purpose? it’s like that.
much like how devotees to aphrodite know her origins, correspondences, and relations to certain energies — those who work with the three sisters should know some lore to have a grasp on what they’re working with. it’s like how a person devoted to apollo would know the lore he has as a bringer of plague or healing would know his lore before appointing him in supporting a healing spell.
this mythos isn’t literal - this fictional story is a simple aide to preparation for the spell.
by reading this simple story, you’re already connecting to the energy of the three sister’s ward.
use this short story as a little mirror of divination to see if you’re compatible for this spell. if you feel creeped out / too intimidated after reading, this spell may be too heavy for your energy. i don’t recommend those who are strictly “love, light, harm none” to engage with this spell. if you’re someone that feels guilt for fighting back against things that seek to harm you, this is not for you.
if you feel vindicated/allure/relief/hope at the idea of having strong protection that is both offensive + defensive towards those who seek to harm you, this spell is definitely going to serve you well.
this story is written with heavy amounts of metaphors. it’s not designed to be read as you would read prose - think of it as poetry. you fill in the gaps of this story with how you resonate with it.
enjoy!
THE THREE SISTERS OF ROSALIA’S FOREST.
The Three Sisters of the Forest originated from a solitary witch named Rosalia, who created and summoned them in order to protect the forest she dwells in from being decimated and dominated by enemy ritualists that aim to use the forest for their selfish purposes.
These enemy ritualists, were only enemies because they disregarded her forest’s wellbeing and brought harm to it in the process. They excessively harvested the abundance of her plants, leaving the flowering bushes near the lakes barren.
Scorned and with a pounding heart, Rosalia decided that all the harm brought into this forest would turn into beneficial and nurturing energy for the forest.
She summoned the spirits of the three lakes of the forest: N’vai, U’nai, and Ktaa.
Each lake spirit had a different personality and different attributes of the element of Water. While the lake spirits were different in performance, they shared the foundation of water’s energy. Fluid, transformative, yet destructive.
N’vai was the western-most lake spirit of Rosalia’s forest. She was like a fly-trap. Her lake is surrounded by colorful fruits and animals that were appealing to the eye — but for anyone who knew better, all of the appealing colors were a trap. The nature around her trapped the greedy and baneful. Those too haughty would feast on her abundance of fruits, and be left there to be paralyzed and at the mercy of the nature around her. Gradually, all the entities there would become one with the fertile soil around her lake. Venomous, she is. The wise know to avoid what seems easy to conquer.
U’nai was the eastern-most lake of Rosalia’s Forest. She was absorbent and resistant to anything coming her way. Spirits passing through U’nai’s lake made sure to not stay there too long, for they would have a fate of eternal slumber within her area. Like Midas’ touch, all the entities around her would slowly slip into becoming one with her. Some dying spirits experienced it as sinking into quicksand. Others experienced it as feeling a euphoria they melted in, until they went into a deep eternal sleep. Regardless of how their fates came, U’nai has worked with N’vai protecting undesirable energies away from the final lake spirit of Rosalia’s forest — K’taa.
K’taa was the southern-most lake of Rosalia’s forest. She was the spirit closest to the cottage of Rosalia, and where seeds would go to flourish. Her waters guaranteed growth and nourishment to any energy she was told to give power to — she loved sleeping at the bottom of her lake, letting each breath of hers give life and power to the water. Rosalia would use K’taa’s water for scrying, blessing, clarity, healing … it felt like K’taa was the purified life force of those who scorned U’nai and N’vai, transformed into pure energies used to the benefit of Rosalia and the peaceful inhabitants of her forest.
The lake spirits heard Rosalia’s plea, and fulfilled it by unifying and creating an energetic ward around the forest — this ward, however, was special. It knew to target those who were desecrating the fruitful parts of the forest for their own.
Under these wards, these enemies turned into flies that were going to unknowingly decompose in their traps.
The Three Sisters of Rosalia’s forest united to materialize the protective spheres of energy surrounding Rosalia’s forest, emphasizing their unique traits in each layer of the sphere.
Rosalia’s enemies were met with destruction the next night they came to disturb the peace of her forest again. N’vai was the outer sphere of the ward, and they met her wrath for daring to attack the area — no being that comes with malice in this forest shall come out.
The soil upon the bare feet of the enemies shot feelings of needles through their feet. It was like each grain of dirt looked up to stab the feet of the enemies who stood above them — shooting pains made them collapse to the ground, paralyzed. Their deeds were stopped right then and there, and their process of being decomposed into being pure energy that circulates the forest.
Any enemy that decided to tread here sealed their fate. They will become the pure water that waters the fruits in this forest — they will be the nutrients that the trees leech upon to continue standing tall. No weapon shall prosper in this domain.
The ground slowly swallowed them up, one by one. While N’vai struck them down and swallowed them into the Earth, U’nai would absorb and neutralize their beings into part of the forest — U’nai would feed what she got to K’taa.
From how the waters K’taa produced became more potent, versatile, and sacred, along with the peace she experienced with no ill-willed beings treading on her forest — Rosalia knew that her forest was now protected.
Who needs to waste energy on actively fighting when you can simply use them as a resource anyways?
No ill will shall cross into her domain without consequence.
II. THE THREE SISTERS WARD: INSTRUCTIONS + SIGIL SHEET
NOTE: before you try casting this spell, KNOW WHAT YOU ARE PROTECTING AND WHAT YOU’RE PROTECTING IT AGAINST.
this is a long-term ward that has offensive capabilities, and it’s best that you’re using this ward for something you’re VERY SERIOUS about guarding. if you wouldn’t fight to defend it, do not ward it with this spell.
do the grounding, centering, and cleansing you need to do before / during / after the spell. i’m not responsible for what’s up if you fail to do that.
1) Write your petition to the Three Sisters of Rosalia’s forest.
Your petition will consist of the subject you want protected, what you are protecting the subject against, and any other clauses that you would like to include while working with the Three Sisters ward.
Your petition should be clear and direct, addressing each problem you want warded off — and preferably, how you want specific events to be dealt with. The more detail you push into your ward petition, the better this ward will function on your behalf.
If you’re having trouble writing the petition, visualize your ideal outcome + petition actions that the ward can do to bring that ideal vision to life.
If you want help with this, you can commission me to write a detailed and strong petition for your subject — we’ll discuss the needs of your ward 1 on 1, and work on your petition until you are satisfied.
2) Name your petition, and turn the name of your petition into a sigil.
It’s like compressing a folder with a ton of information into one .zip file. It’s more effective to sigilize the petition than have the entire petition laid out in the casting circle — trust me.
3) After necessary energetic procedure (cleansing grounding centering etc) on any piece of paper, draw the casting triangle below, and draw the sigils in THIS ORDER: N’VAI —> U’NAI —> K’TAA —> YOUR SIGILIZED PETITION.
Tumblr media
4) Near the casting circle, repeat the following incantation TEN times, observe any visualizations that arise as a result:
“N’vai protects endlessly, U’nai transmutes endlessly, K’taa’s fruit of abundance shall always bless us through her graceful energy — may the Three Sisters of Rosalia’s lake rise and bring these petitioned desires to me.”
(nuh-vEYE, Oo-nEYE, Kh-Taah, pronounciation, if you need it. “ai” is like “EYE” here.)
5) Close the spell with “The deal is sealed, the wall is raised, all undesirable energies are destroyed today.”
6) Take the paper and burn it somewhere safe. If burning is not an option, destroy it by soaking it in water and tearing it. The spell is over, and the ward is fully raised and activated.
III. ADDITIONAL DETAILS + TIPS
In the event you want to edit your petition (you probably will), keep your petition written out somewhere safe + editing. The ward will update with the changes of the petition, since it is connected to the sigil you destroyed in the casting triangle.
You can communicate with the Three Sisters through any divination method that’s most comfortable for you. I’ve found that dream-work is a solid medium, along with clairvoyance + clairsentience.
In the event you want to dismantle / relocate the ward, re-do the ritual but have the petitioning sigil be a petition of removal.
i think i covered all i could.

Genshin Impact: Ideas on using Visions in Pop Culture Witchcraft Practise
(Disclaimer: I am re-starting my Journey into the Pop Culture Witchcraft while finding a way to use stuff like Genshin Impact, Undertale and maybe Steven Universe. (Maybe some more stuff) I basically try to use stuff, which I am passionate about and which have a big meaning in my life because I tried to get into Witchcraft before, but I was overwhelmed and I had no idea where to start. But since I started researching/brainstorming in ways to use Genshin Impact it made this much more fun and enjoyable. SO I am still new to the Witchcraft stuff.)
Tumblr media
Since the Geo Element when it reacts to certain other Elements like: Electro, Pyro, Cryo, Hydro. It's Elemental Reaction is called Crystalized, which basically creates a shield.
So you can technically use the Geo symbol as a Sigil. Additionally you could combine in with the Elemental skills of Characters: For Example the Geo Symbol + Noelle's Elemental Skill (Breastplate) Symbol + Her Voice Line "Steady as Stone" as a Ward sigil/Protection spell.
You can also use the Geo Element with Electro, Pyro, Cryo, Hydro for the Crystalized effect.
Also the Geo Element is connected to Rex Lapis/Morax/ Zhonghli, so it is connected to Money, prosperity, construction and contract.
I personally associate it with: Earth, Contracts, defence, protection, hardworking, money, shields, trust, friendship, yellow/gold colors, rocks, crystals, (some of them are technically canon in-game)
Extra: According to -> https://genshin-impact.fandom.com <- the Geo Element is Associated with the in-game gem Prithiva Topaz (which is always used in ascensions)
Prithiva Topaz (Descriptions):
"The currencies that flow through this land are my flesh and blood."
"For thus did I become the guarantor of the people's hard work, wisdom, and future."
"This is the trust I have placed in them. Betray it, and you taint my blood."
Topaz = is a yellow Topaz so you could use a yellow Topaz for idk maybe as an offering ?
Prithiva:
The English name for this item derives "Prithiva" from Prithvi, a Vedic goddess of earth with many epithets, including "Mother Earth" and "Steady One."
In the Chinese version, "Prithiva" is instead 坚牢/堅牢 Jiānláo, "Firm" or "Steady."
Just some brainstorming ideas since I've spent a lot of time researching all of the Visions and adding what I associated them with.

Plurality & Paganism: An Introspective
If any of you keep up with my main (@sinfulauthor), you may have noticed this post, along with my new pinned post. In short, I've come to the realization (after burying the thought of it for many years) that we are a Collective.
Now, how does this impact this blog and my craft?
To start off, this blog's content will remain the same. It will still primarily act as an e-grimoire with some additional posts, but the people posting what content will change. Specifically, these people:
-Alex (they/them), the host (hi!). I'll generally do most of the talking/posting. Works with The Signless/Sufferer and Dionysus. ANP that the IRL coven knows. (I'm not open with them about being a Collective just yet.)
-Vaati (he/him), who works with Demise and focuses on divination. Writes solely in cursive and gets VERY frustrated when grimoire notes are in standard print.
-Ghira (he/him), who works with Demise closer than Vaati for Obvious Reasons™️. (Though he generally doesn't do any actual spellwork, just offerings, worship, and altar setup.)
-Karkat (he/they) on occasion, solely because Signless HAS shown himself to him and is very much a Dad™️.
-Toko (she/her) has not yet "awakened." She was a former kin heavily associated with our craft. Taking bets on her being a spellcrafter/writer.
So, now that the roll call is done, onto some other stuff regarding plurality and paganism, the introspection the title mentions. (This will be below the cut as it's not as integral to the "functioning" of this blog.)
So, coming to the realization as a system was... interesting. We first became aware of dissociative disorders through Danganronpa (Yes, Toko's horrible representation. We know.) and related to Toko heavily. At the time, we were heavily involved in the Fictionkin community and had "memories" of those "timelines." However, this relatability on the DID aspect was soon hidden under the guise of "I like to write, and so does she! Also super traumatized like me lmao," and then we didn't think about it for five more years.
Come 2023, we've relapsed for the first time in four years and are going through some pretty traumatic stuff again. At an Esbat in September, an argument breaks out that causes us to dissociate and brings up those really painful feelings from childhood. Nothing felt real, and the rest of the night was foggy. (The people in the argument have since apologized. It was also an extremely stressful night due to our old High Priest being ousted for sexual misconduct not even 4 hours before we started.)
At this point, this whole debacle causes us to realize, "Hey, this isn't really a normal trauma response. There might be something else going on." We have a lot of friends who are systems, and we went to them asking, "Hey, do you like. think we're a system?" and FIVE OF THEM SNIFFED US OUT YEARS AGO AND DIDN'T BOTHER TO TELL US??? Like maybe that would have been useful information, idk (We still love our friends to bits, though)
So, fast forward to 2024. Still in the process of diagnosis but receiving trauma-focused therapy to process things. It's been a long process of figuring out how to live/function as someone with a dissociative disorder, but we're learning.
Thankfully, having a good support network has been a great help. We have an almanac (specifically The Practical Witch's 2024 Almanac by Friday Gladheart) to track our craft/spiritual work, and it's interesting to see the input of everyone in the collective. It's a lot of taking things day by day and seeing how things go, but we feel the energy around us changing.
Anyway, ramble over. If y'all read this to the end, thanks for sticking around. I've got some other posts we plan on making, so keep an eye out for those, too.
Signing off,
Alex of the Magic Collective

How to Start Pop Culture Deity Research
So you’ve figured out that you want to work with a pop culture deity in your foray into pop culture magic and/or paganism (PCM or PCP). Firstly, congratulations! Choosing to work with a deity first instead of waiting for them to reach out is always nerve-wracking, and I’m proud of you for getting this far!
“Thank you, Jasper. But how do I do research into the pop culture deity?” you may ask. Pop culture deities tend to get little press, and you’re not alone in your struggle to find information on offerings, associations, or even domain. As I only work with pop culture deities at this time, that’s what I’m covering here. I’m also not going to cover picking the deity, as that’s a deeply personal process and is honestly just like picking a non-pop culture deity to work with or worship.
Luckily, there are six basic steps that you can take:
1: Scour canon and supplemental materials.
Checking the canon material is kinda self-explanatory for pop culture magic. While non-canon materials can often contradict canon, they can also provide some further insight into a character (when written well). If you’re working with a deity from supplemental material, I wish you luck, because this is going to be more irritating.
2: Fandom wikis.
If you don’t have access to the canon/supplemental material, fandom wikis are a good backup. They are sources of knowledge that are absolutely dedicated to a piece of media and can help you learn more about a specific pop culture deity without making you play through a series of 60+ hour games or spending a small fortune on books if you don’t have a library or your library doesn’t have the series.
3: See if anyone else has covered the deity in a PCP context.
For more popular series such as the Elder Scrolls or the Legend of Zelda, their deities may already be worked with by other pop culture pagans online. Trying to find PCP spaces (Tumblr tags, Discord servers, etc) can help you learn others’ perspectives on the deity you’re trying to study for.
4: Check fandom writing blogs.
Headcanon and fandom writing blogs are a pop culture pagan’s best friend. These fine folks put endless hours, often for free, into some top notch stuff. Many take requests or commissions, and you can tip them for their help. Really, go befriend a writing blog right now.
5: Unverified Personal Gnosis (UPG) and personal headcanons.
I consider these two things to be the same but some other magic practitioners say that UPG comes from experience and headcanons are just “there”, so take whatever definition you’d like. They’re essentially the same in a PCP context because non-pop culture practitioners are going to treat everything you ever say as UPG and fandom blogs (because you will inevitably get those unless you make a point of saying “this is a religious post, fandom blogs do not interact”) will think they’re just weird headcanons written from an in-universe perspective. You really can’t win here.
Anyway, through personal experience and associations, you can learn more and more what a pop culture deity is associated with. This is an important step in the process of any form of deity relationships, not just with pop culture deities.
6: Just ask the deity.
At this point, you’ve decided that you want to work with this deity. You’ve done your deep-dive into canon. You’ve reached out and learned a few initial things. Now, you’re talking to the PCP deity in some manner, so any questions you have about them...you can just ask.
This ties back into number 5, in that whatever you find out with be UPG/a headcanon because you can’t point to something in canon.
