anyways i've said it before and i'll say it again: you cannot win an actual political debate with a witty tweet or meme

Debates are for losers. We should make presidential candidates rap battle for the win. Loser with the least rhythm gets banished to the island.

The Land of Milk and Honey: A Misplaced Focus
America, often hailed as the land of milk and honey, presents an ironic tableau of abundance juxtaposed with a peculiar sense of discontent. This nation, a mosaic of diverse cultures, ideas, and innovations, seems ensnared in a paradox of its own creation
America, often hailed as the land of milk and honey, presents an ironic tableau of abundance juxtaposed with a peculiar sense of discontent. This nation, a mosaic of diverse cultures, ideas, and innovations, seems ensnared in a paradox of its own creation. Amidst the sprawling skylines, technological marvels, and endless opportunities, a shadow of dissatisfaction persists, often unnoticed yet…

New Hampshire Senate passes GOP-backed parents' rights bill
CONCORD, N.H. — A “parents’ bill of rights” that critics say is designed to target transgender youth passed New Hampshire’s Republican-led Senate on Thursday. Much of the debate among lawmakers focused on provisions to require school officials, when asked by parents, to disclose that a child is using a different name or being referred to as being a different gender. Supporters said the bill would…

“After Julien Bayou, whose turn is it?”
“After Julien Bayou, whose turn is it?”
FIGAROVOX/TRIBUNE – After Sandrine Rousseau’s accusations against Julien Bayou on a television set, the deputy had to resign from his duties as national secretary. Beyond the Bayou case, this affair could lead us all into a spiral of media justice, worries mediologist Philippe Guibert. Philippe Guibert is a consultant, former director of the SIG. He published The Tyranny of Visibility (VA Press,…

Story time! You know, a few years back there was an interesting study. They interviewed a bunch of medical residents and more than half of them said that they were sure they had killed a patient with a poor decision caused by fatigue after repeated 14 hour shifts.
For those of you who don't know, that's how residency, a 3-year program that doctors have to complete before earning a medical license, works. The shifts are long and hard, the pay is poor, and many residents have to make do with 4 hours of sleep a night or less.
And here's the thing, we know that people who are stressed and exhausted make bad decisions, so why do we keep doing this? The thing is, the reason why we can't seem to reform residency to be, you know, reasonable for both residents and patients, is that older doctors don't think it's fair.
Yes, you heard that right, we know exactly what we have to do in order to save lives, but we can't do it because older doctors who had to go through residency don't think it's fair to change it now.
I bring this up because, while it sounds insane here, I see a lot of people making exactly the same argument about Biden's plan that offers relief for up to $20,000 of student debt.
Look guys, just because you had to do it doesn't mean it's a good idea and your suffering doesn't justify forcing others to suffer. If you have other arguments against it, then fair enough, but don't inflict your pain on others, it just makes you a bad person…

When you try and get into a debate against someone about school and how it’s damaging and how the current system needs to be dismantled and it segways into human rights violations and you start getting super emotionally invested but the other person is taking it as a joke and telling you to shut up when you get emotional.

Sometimes, I remember a little something I used to do with my grandfather's neighbor when I was eight or so.
I would go across the street to her house, and we would debate politics. I repeated what my parents told me, she repeated what fox news told her.
We (thankfully) mostly talked about fiscal policy.
But still you have to admit it's pretty funny that there are people out there who's politics are so crappy that they can be debunked by an eight year old who's never watched the news.
