Not all non-disordered systems are non-traumagenic. Trauma-formed systems can and do exist without also having DID/OSDD/etc.

Not all non-traumagenic systems are non-disordered.

A systems ORIGINS, a system’s FUNCTIONING, a system’s DIAGNOSTIC STATUS, and a system’s SPIRITUAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL BELIEF can all be very different things.

Ie, you can have

a trauma-formed system that isn’t disordered and isn’t dxd with anything, who see themselves in a spiritual light

a non-traumagenic system that is disordered, is diagnosed with DID, who see themselves in a psychological light

and many other combinations!

Please stop using DID/OSDD/etc as a synonym for “trauma-formed”.

Please stop using traumagenic as a synonym for disordered.

Please stop using non-traumagenic as a synonym for non-disordered.

Please stop assuming all trauma-formed systems see themselves purely psychologically, and all non-traumagenic systems see themselves purely spiritually.

The plural community, on all sides, is so rich and diverse. Community support, and an individual system’s needs, are not always so easily divided into two very small boxes.

On one of your deeds, great and terrible and not really yours, have you considered going off script? In your perfection, no mark of the passing eons on your pristine self, have you lived for a few minutes, sneaked somewhere in eternity a quiet evening and a cup of tea?

Leave your halo on the coat rack, flaming sword in the umbrella stand - it might help with the migraine. If you were so far from Valentine's-card perfect you could never go back, what would you be? Speaking for yourself, would you find a voice?

They wrote in their big old book that falling is a sort of hubris: they're so sure that makes it true.

In the mess of the universe it's okay fuck it all up, means you're living some. As old the platitude goes, be not afraid.

i have no idea what i did to be worthy of personally receiving this when all i do is make pretentious philosophical and literary analysis posts on the internet sometimes, but thank you. this is a lovely poem and i'm going to keep it folded up in my pocket to take out when i need it again.

tips cowboy hat now i ain’t a religious man but i will say god done did me a kindness what with him making me love my art as i made it and the ability to make it so often and generally being pretty good at it what with my no formal training, but i suppose he did have to humble me when he made it a bitch for me to animate what again with my no formal training and he especially made it a bitch for me to animate walk cycles specifically. even that two frame shit for animatics

Independent Research on Experiences with Imaginary Friends

Hello Tumblr! Some of you may have seen this poll I made going around. As of writing this post, the poll is still going, so if you haven't voted and would like to you are more than welcome to do so. However, this post is to more formally announce the survey I made that expands on the idea behind the creation of the poll; you can access it here.

The survey polls on experiences with imaginary friends, but also includes questions about social experiences and neurodivergencies, in particular system experiences. You do not need to be a system to respond to this, and in fact I encourage singlets to also take the survey. People of all neurotypes and all ages are allowed to respond to the survey. The survey is primarily multiple choice with avenues to elaborate on your selections, but it also has three long answer questions. The whole survey should take around 15 to 20 minutes to complete. You are encouraged to be as specific as possible, even if you're not sure about how to answer a question.

All responses collected will be seen by my eyes only, and will be analyzed only by me; this endeavor is a one person effort. The data gathered by this survey will not be formally published. At best, if enough people wish to see the results, the results and analysis will be posted on Tumblr, on this same blog.

It would be much appreciated if this post is spread around, but I highly, highly encourage you to share the link to the survey outside of Tumblr as well. Data collection will cease on March 1st, 2024 or when there are 500 responses, whichever comes first.

Today's casual realization (while browsing stock video footage)

It's kind of shocking to discover how many people think the shamrock has four leaves.

...What's a little more disturbing is to discover that there's no agreement on which of the various candidate species referred to by the name is the real one. (eyeroll)

Tomorrow the Taoiseach* will visit the White House, as usual, and bring the President of the US a bowl of shamrock (like the one above from a year or two ago) as a present.
