It's a reoccurring pattern with Steve, getting come out to and then instantly shitting on the person's taste in people.

Robin comes out to him and tells him she liked Tammy 'The Muppet' Thompson and Steve immediately jumps onto making fun of her because obviously, he will. She sounds like a goddamn muppet! Robin may deny it, but he knows she knows he's right. And he never lets her forget it.

After the Byers family moves back to Hawkins, Steve gets closer to the Byer-Hopper twins (Not blood related twins, but with how similar they are they might as well be). He takes note of the way Will carries himself, the way he stares at Micheal Asshole Wheeler of all people when he thinks no one is looking.

The kid doesn't come out that quickly, so with Robin's advice, Steve takes his time, making it known how okay he was with Will's sexuality, even if he did have standards low enough to beat Robin's terrible Tammy Thompson taste (He says this to her and she reacts as predictably as ever- by throwing something at him).

When Will does come out to him, Steve makes sure he only freezes for a literal second, not wanting the kid to panic like he'd seen Robin do back then. Of course, as soon as he's done comforting and reassuring the kid that he's completely fine with him being gay, he immediately jumps onto making fun of his terrible crush on Mike, finding great joy in the bright blush burning the teen's face.

The next time someone comes out to him, he's more caught off guard than he was with Robin.

Not because he was shocked that Eddie liked guys, no. He might be stereotyping a little, but no straight guy goes that close to another man and calls him Big Boy all low and seductively, a teasing grin curling his lips, a glint in his eyes-

The reason why he's shocked is because Eddie comes out to him, and when Steve asks about crushes, Eddie says,

"Oh, I had the worst crush on you in high school."

Steve sits there, his jaw practically on the ground. The way Eddie says it, all casual, not caring about the consequences or the effect it has on Steve.

"Wh- I- Me?" He stammered out, incredulous. "Dude, I was the biggest asshole back then!"

Eddie chuckles at that, a low sound that sends further heat into Steve's already flushed body. "The me back then did not give a shit, let me tell you that man." He turns to Steve then, giving him a slow look, a gaze more like, and smirks. "I certainly understood why the ladies were so desperate for you and your gorgeous locks."

His heart is pounding like crazy, an audible thump in his ears. Thoughts race in his head, one after the other, all jumbled up until what comes out of Steve's mouth next is,

"So what, you've got a thing for douchebags? Seriously?"

Eddie shoots him another look, more confused than ever. "What?"

"You heard me," Steve says, feeling the next words come out of his mouth like a waterfall. "I was a huge asshole in high school dude. How the hell did you have a crush on me back then? Did you seriously have no standards? You'd really stoop that low just because I had nice hair? I have good hair, and I'm nice now! What's stopping you from-"

Steve cuts himself off with an audible clack of his teeth, a sound that most often comes from Robin when she shuts herself up.

Goddamnit Robin.

Eddie is staring at him with wide eyes, the cigarette between his fingers burning away. Steve wants to watch the smoke curl away, but he's too transfixed on Eddie's doe-like gaze.

Then Eddie's features smooth over, a terrible, terrible grin curling its way onto his lips, deepening that dimple on his cheeks. He leans forward eyes lidded just slightly, and says,

"What's stopping me from what, sweetheart?"

adding into this, i feel that simon wearing his mask (with the diy skull and the printed one) would do the complete opposite of being a ghost like literally. technically, simon riley is dead. he died in a fire with his family and the last thing he needs or wants is attention.

i 100% believe that simon and the rest of the 141 are the types to have a work life and a civilian life. he wouldn’t want to bring any of the shit he has to go through at work back to his hole home.

as much as he hates being alone back in manchester, he still needs it. he needs a break from all of the war he has to go through.

ghost and simon are two different entities with two different lives and just because simon riley is dead on paper doesn’t mean he’s actually gone.

simon knows that if he brings ghost back home he’s only hurting himself and falling into a bottomless pit.

that’s why he wouldn’t wear the mask in public or anytime he’s on leave (unless it’s his home and there has to be a very specific reason why), and that’s why he wouldn’t walk around telling people his callsign.

unless the fic is taking place on base with a soldier!reader, there is no actual reason why simon would wear the mask and go by ghost.

ghost & mask = work

simon & and bare face = home or just civilian life.

there’s no reason why he would want to mix work and civilian life together.

and if people can say that he’s insecure about his face and don’t want to show it off, but i’d have to disagree. i mean did u hear him when he was talking with soap?

bro was 100% smiling like a cocky little shit when he said “quiet the opposite”. this mfer knows that he’s hot and enjoys it. in my delulu mind, i think simon enjoys whatever scars are on his face because he thinks they make him more hotter (i also don’t think he has that many scars on his face bc i think it’s one of the hardest places to attack idk).

technically speaking, no matter how attractive, it’s harder to remember someone with a pretty face and accurately described it than remember a mask and describe it, which i think simon understands completely.

someone also brought up the cut scene before the “no russian” one of where simons and the 141 are in the bar and he’s wearing the mask.

i have to agree with the person who said this that people saw that and took it face value that he wears the mask outside. not everything is lore, or is it 100% cannon. sometimes some things are for shits and giggles.

Moving to Whitechapel on an exchange program seemed to be a lot less worrisome than you initially thought. For the most part, the town and the people around you seemed nice. You had even found a group of people who immediately decided to befriend you.

“Why do you talk like that?” Rory asked, staring at you while waiting for an answer. Ethan, whom you met first in one of your classes, answered for you.

“Rory, it’s a British accent. He’s from England.”

“British people are real?” Rory asked with complete sincerity. Everyone groaned while you tried to stifle a laugh.

“Wild, I know.” You responded.

They became some of the best friends you’ve ever had

Occasionally, they’d mock your accent or repeat something that you had said, but it was all in good fun

Benny, however, seemed to make mimicking your accent his favorite new hobby

It sucked a bit, having a cute guy making fun of something you couldn’t really control, even if it wasn’t ill-intentioned

“When is this due again?” You asked, not looking up from the partner project you were working on with Benny. You could practically feel the grin forming on his face.

“I reckon it’s chews-day, innit?” Benny responded in an over-exaggerated and loud accent, making you groan.

“I don’t sound like that, Benny.”

“Sure you don’t, bruv.” You kicked his leg under the table, and the two of you laughed, although he did so with a wince. “Don’t worry, I’m only taking the piss, Y/n!”

“Jesus.” You shook your head, going back to your work. Benny was a bit funny with his impressions, but it could quickly get annoying.

“Bloody hell.”

“Benny.”

“I’m real knackered if I’m being honest.”

“You’re a real wanker, you know that right?” You rubbed your eyes in exhaustion, both from this project and from Benny. “You probably think you’re being cute, but you’re being stupid.”

“No need to get your knickers in a twist.” You happened to miss the blush spreading across Benny’s cheeks.

It was getting to a point where you wondered if Benny even liked you

He was nice to you and everything, but his making fun of how you talked was getting on your nerves

You had no idea why he did it; none of your other friends did it nearly as much as him

Before trying to confront him about it, you decided to ask Ethan about his best friend’s behavior

“Ethan, can I ask you something?” You asked as you and your friend walked to class.

“Sure, what’s up?”

“Does Benny not like me or something?” Ethan looked confused, about to laugh at the question as if it was ridiculous. “I’m serious, Ethan! He’s constantly taking the piss out of how I talk.”

“Y/n, trust me, Benny likes you.”

“Well, he has the strangest way of showing it then. Can you at least talk to him for me? I’m really getting sick of it.”

Ethan sighed, waving his head back and forth as if considering his options.

“Fine, I’ll ask him.”

You decided to eavesdrop on Ethan and Benny when he went to talk to his friend

You wanted to hear the truth because you didn’t know if Ethan would relay Benny’s exact response to you

But the conversation took a turn that you were not expecting

You felt a bit bad for listening in on a conversation between two of your friends, but at the same time, it revolved around you. Of course, you wanted to hear what Benny had to say about your concerns.

“Hey man, so I was talking to Y/n-“Ethan was cut off by an excited Benny.

“Really? What were you guys talking about?”

“We were actually talking about you. Y/n-“

“Me? What did he say? Tell me, E.”

“I was getting to that, Benny! Y/n thinks you don’t like him. He thinks you only hang around him to make fun of him.”

“What? That’s crazy! Of course, I like Y/n.”

This was relieving, but it still didn’t explain his mocking.

“Yeah, Benny. Everyone knows that you’ve got a big fat crush on Y/n. Except for him, apparently.” You froze. That was definitely not what you were expecting. “Look, if you don’t wanna drive him away, maybe don’t make fun of him.”

“But I don’t want him to know that I like him.” Benny sounded defeated. He sighed. “Feelings are embarrassing, E.”

“You’re embarrassing, Benny.”

You didn’t know what to do with this new information

Obviously, you were happy that he had a crush on you

But trying to throw everyone off by mocking you? That made you not so happy

So you decided to finally clear the air with Benny

“Benny, can I talk to you?” You didn’t wait for an answer, already leaving Ethan’s living room. Benny looked at your friends nervously before following, finding you sitting on the staircase.

“What’s up?”

“I know you fancy me.” It was better to be direct because if you tried beating around the bush, neither of you would get anywhere. Benny froze, so you took it as a sign to continue. “Lucky for you, I like you back. But I’ve gotta tell ya, imitation is not the sincerest form of flattery, Benny. It’s honestly rather annoying.”

It took Benny a while to form a thought, let alone a response.

“... I’m sorry?”

“Are you asking me if you’re sorry?” You snorted.

“No! No, no, no. I am sorry. Really, I am.” Benny rubbed the back of his neck and sighed, moving to sit next to you on the steps. “It’s just… feelings are weird and, like, kind of embarrassing, and I didn’t know how to act around you.”

“You’re kind of embarrassing, Benny.” he had a look of recognition, probably remembering his conversation with Ethan. But before he could say anything about it, you patted his thigh and, feeling bold, kissed his cheek. “Luckily, you’re cute. So I’ll let it slide.”

My friends (and teachers and people in general) have been telling me for so long that I really need to publish my stories and books because I have so many good ideas and so much written (even if I have been writing less for the past year or two). But I have always been so insecure and so painfully shy about it. Even publishing my fanfics is something I'm hesitant about let alone full blown books 😭

Also yes my main oc is constantly suffering ™ and I know he'd be everyone's favourite pathetic little meow meow. He has a lot of my traits cause he's one of coping mechanisms and I just dump all my trauma on him (as I do with all of my fandom ocs let's be honest). He's originally main character from what is supposed to be like four part fantasy/horror series but I like creating different AUs and stories with characters from that series. They're essentially fanfics I'm writing for my stories. And since some of them are really interesting, I wanna to write fandom fanfics based on them.

I 100% get you!! Before I started writing here I was on ao3 and I’d post every few months bc I’d be like “oh this isn’t good enough” “this could be better” and so on and so forth and then I started writing here and I was like ok if I’m gonna do this I want to post frequently i think my first two fics are a month apart and then after that it’s 2-3 weeks apart and now it’s like 3 days and what helped me is 1. If I enjoyed writing something and if I enjoyed the plot then it was good enough grammar etc wasn’t so important 2, we in the mlm reader community have such few fics it would be a shame to keep all the ideas in my head sure my fics aren’t 100% squeaky clean but at least Igave life to a trope or plot that didn’t exist before in the m reader community and that’s enough for me

Pls give this man someone who loves and appreciates him I can’t have him be this sad 😔 but also the guy he’s in love with…is he single ? asking for a friend (I will turn myself into pixels to meet him)

Also I love that idea 🧎🏻‍♂️ but also what about price who’s dreamt all his life of meeting his mate only to see it’s practically a snobby kid who doesn’t know shit about lycanthropy

Im gonna be honest my guy… I don’t actually read ninjago fics. I haven’t in years 😬 sorry but I can’t help you there!

As for writing tips, there’s one biggie I will always, always say first: read. Read lots.

And don’t just read fanfiction, go to your library and get out books from different authors. Study how they write; what’s their voice like? How does tone change with genre?

Another big tip is sentence structure. There’s nothing more boring than reading the same line build over and over again - write run-off sentences, write in parentheses, use colons and let your dialogue “cut in the middle” of your lines. Each line is a stroke of a paintbrush; if each stroke is the same shade of brown, then your forest of wildflowers is going to be a brown wall. Experiment!

As for portraying emotions, well, I know for in tbe I write myself as Y/n, and that’s because when I was sixteen she was all I knew. As I grew older and rewrote and rewrote, I knew myself more, so I knew her more. Write what you know, and research what you don’t. You have no limit as long as you keep expanding your knowledge.

People watch! How do people talk, what do they say? Do they repeat words and speak plainly, or do their words bounce with enthusiasm? What are they doing with their hands? How are they holding their body? Their expression?

The great thing about being a writer is that you make your own world. What better thing to study than the world around you?

Lorenzo drinks snd smokes weed a lot but is always alert and ready to protect her. He’s smily and acts like he doesn’t care, but he cares for her a lot and is the one to help her escape

I wanted to share this headcanon with somebody who won’t digitally assault me like people in the past who for some reason are really offended by it. You don’t have to agree or like it or anything of course it’s just nice to share it with somebody who’s nice.

As a lover of the Marauders era especially (almost solely) Prongsfoot I’ve pretty much abandoned canon if I’m honest. I have this headcanon that James is a metamorphmagus. Like for no good reason other than I think it’d be really funny. Like he could still be an animagus cause as for as we know metamorphagus don’t turn into animals. He keeps it’s kind of a secret for prank purposes of course. So in my mind he either has really good control over his hair changing color with his emotions or none at all. I lean towards having really good control over it expect for when it comes to Sirius and his parents. Like one day he’s just hanging out waiting for Sirius with his messy jet black hair in all its glory and looks up to his main man coming his way and just BOOM the pinkest hair anybody has EVER seen. And everybody around him is all 😱😱😱 the others guys are trying to tell him but he’s all 😍😍😍 at Padfoot, Sirius turns and looks behind himself all 🧐 cause he knows that rich almost (for a lack of a better word) sensual pink means romantic love but when he doesn’t see anybody behind him he turns back to James and it hits him making him trip over himself that holy shit James his looking at HIM like that with THAT pink hair and now he’s all 😳😳😳.

Also when James gets going about his parents his hair takes on this soft almost pastel pinkish purple for familial love. He just can’t help it he loves them SO MUCH. He’s just start spouting off “they’re just so great! and warm! and funny! and give the best hugs! and give me lots of treats! Mum makes the best cakes in the world! Dads always coming up with these crazy inventions! did I tell you about the time they look me flying in Switzerland! Cause it was great! You should have seen dad! You have to come next time pads you’ll love it!” and Sirius is both astonished by the love the Potters have for each other and so so extremely fond of the flaming ball of love and energy sat before him.

OMG ANON I LOVE THIS????? who is out here making u feel bad about such a wonderful headcanon, tell me i’ll beat em up (ง •̀_•́)ง

like listen, i’ve seen the ‘potters have a metamorphmagus gene’ hc before for harry (usually because of his sentient hair lol) and i’ve always liked it but this just takes it one step better!! the concept of ur hair giving away ur emotions is so cute and james not being able to control it,,,esp in front of sirius and re his parents (three of THE most important people in his life) is the absolute best. i can totally see it happening too.

i can also see james not realising this happens at first, but when he does he’s like,,,a bit insecure at first before he shrugs it off w his usual confidence like ‘yah i’m a sap so what?’

also!!! can u imagine his hair only changing for sirius and that putting to rest any doubts re his feelings for lily bc it’s never done that for her?

i can also see like—maybe a dark green? for envy/possessiveness/jealousy. emotions that he’s never felt until it comes to one sirius black. and seeing him hit on by others or, more importantly, taking up his time when j wants attention and his hair slowly bleeds into green and it’s just hilarious all around how often it happens lol.

and james loving effie and flea so much help 😭😭 it’s the cutest thing ever. i adore it sm. anon, will you write this fic for us, pls? i’ll leave the most gushing review ever. i wanna read this so bad now.

hi,hello,hoy !!! You asked me what I thought of your fic so I am here to comment some things about it !!! :D

I love how you have to put pieces together to figure out what's going on with Y/N! Because when your theory gets confirmed you just get this SERATONIN (is that how you type it??) from it

(this one is honestly more of a nit pick just saying:) I feel like you could do a bit of foreshadowing like for example: In chapter 1 you could have described Y/N's backpack in detail so the readers know how it looks like and think "hMMM why are they describing it in such detail ???" and then when you get to chapter 3 you could describe Y/N's backpack as something else (not entirely something else but a small change) without Y/N reffering to it feeling like 'a different bag' maybe get him to say "something feels off..." so when the reader sees this they'll put the pieces together and say "WOOOAH WAIT THATS DIFFERENT FROM THIS THAT WAS SAID IN THIS !!!! :0" !! BUT!! Honestly that's just a little nitpick from me because I tried to write a few stories before (but then I gave up halfway) and I know bits and pieces on how to do cool foreshadowing (from a writer friend) but take this with a grain of salt because I am still ig a newbie at writing!! ><

also when Y/N is talking in his head and a thing thinks instead of him you could have a subtle shift in tone (idk if I am explaining this one well sorry I am a bit sleepy)

unhinged Sun. I just loved when that boy snaps. ( ‾̀◡‾́)

and the last one is.... remember to take breaks!!! Writing can be exhausting especially if the story is getting to your head (trust me ik how it feels when you get too emotionally attached and don't wanna kill your favourite off (╥﹏╥)) so remeber to take as much time off as you need your mental health is WAY more important <3
