Why do you think Great white sharks are so evil in movies

1. they're really big! they're on average around 14 feet with the biggest ones measuring closer to 20, and they can weigh up to 5,000 pounds. that's, like, 30 of me!

2. the book Jaws (and the subsequent movie) really helped make that scare happen. it worked really well, so people kept making horror movies from them. I personally think the mako shark is the scariest but to each their own

3. they do contribute a large portion of yearly human attacks, averaging a little less than 10 per year

4. they live in almost all coastal off-shore areas, as opposed to sticking to one sea or continent! so they're really widespread geographically speaking

their up to 3 inch long teeth are serrated, and they have over 300 of them! humans only have 32! great whites are also constantly losing teeth so it's very common to find them :-)

please note that humans are not prey to them! most bites are test bites and typically they leave people alone because we're gross to them. also a lot of bites occur in low visibility waters, and they don't have the best eyesight anyway :(

also people just really won't leave sharks alone lmao a lot of shark attacks are provoked

Hi!

I came over to Tumblr from Reddit when u/spez decided to royally fuck up accessibility and moderation tools with their API pricing.

There was a subreddit called r/196, where users were required to post something after browsing the subreddit (this was Rule 196). Posters would often title their posts following said rule as “Rule” or some pun related to that.

When Redditors migrated to Tumblr after our great bastion of shitposts fell, many of us tried to find our fellow Reddit refugees by tagging our posts with the names of certain subreddits.

Hence, the shitposts now have tags like #196, #r/196, #r196, and the like.

my lil muslim self had the most self indulgent thought jenekdjje. idk how religion goes by way of like… idk let’s just pretend for a second that the abrahamic religions exist in ninjago.

I’m not a hijabi but during ramadan i do cover my hair so my thought was like maybe the hypothetical reader and Lloyd are study buddies and it’s the first day of ramadan when he comes over to study and the reader answers the door with hair covered. Idk i think he’d be so curious.

I don’t see much Muslim reader content on here so i have to fill the gaps myself. I just wanted to share :))

I love this, this is so adorable! He’d absolutely be so full of questions and would keep asking more and more about reader’s religion until the study date’s totally forgotten.

He’d probably ask something along the lines of “do you want me to cover my hair, too?” He wants to be involved as much as you’re willing. He might even ask to join in on the evening prayer, “but only if you’re comfortable with it!”

As soon as the sun goes down you know his next big ninja mission is to get you some food!

6. What’s the last line you wrote?

“Shuddup and kiss me,” Steve grouches, and Bucky laughs before giving in, showing his husband just how much he loves him.

That’s actually for a 5 + 1 fic that I finished and am waiting for time to be able to post it, so it’s actually the last line in general!

22. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?

Okay so… to be completely honest I think I’m kinda the Worst at coming up with titles. I usually come up with them at the very end while I’m posting it to ao3. Sometimes they’re bits of song lyrics, sometimes they’re something I randomly think up, and one desperate time I looked up a title generator. Titling is kinda my least favorite part of writing! 😂 a lot of times I’ll text Awesome Best Friend and ask if she can think of a title, but since we’re both awful at titles, I usually end up thinking of one myself.

29. What’s something about your writing that you’re proud of?

I feel like I say this every time, but it’s true: I’m proud of how far I’ve come. I can see where I started in 2019 when I first got an ao3 account, and I can see where I am today, and I’m mildly embarrassed by where I started but I refuse to edit those because it shows my progress and I feel like maybe it’ll help someone someday. If they see where I came from versus where I am now, it might give them the courage to keep writing.
