I hate how marketable witchcraft has become within the last few years.

Don't get me wrong- I'm glad it's gaining momentum and more support! I love to see new people within the community! I welcome you all with open arms.

However, the mass spreading of misinformation, cultural appropriation, cheap goods sold at expensive prices, amongst other things is. Headache inducing at a minimum.

The local stores and festivals I've frequented over time have gone from small, affordable, locally sourced goods, to large-scale social media shills, shoving bundles of "DIY spell" kits and overpriced crystals under my nose.

It's exhausting.

Platonic Yandere! Ethan Winters

+ Ethan is a very devoted husband and father, willing to saw off his own hand if it guaranteed the safety of his family. After losing his wife in Dulvey, all Ethan has is you. Whether you're his biological child or not, Ethan protects you with his life.

+ This behaviour may seem admirable to most, but to those who've been on the receiving end of his affection? Not so much. Ethan, being your father, meant that his overprotective tendencies amp up to a thousand when it came to your safety.

+ After the whole Baker incident happened, Ethan is very, VERY intent on keeping you away from any danger. When you both moved to Romania, he was installing the top-notch security systems around your house. He even took lessons from Chris to insure he would be able to defend you from any threat. 

+ Ethan loves to spend time with you whenever he can, seeing as he's busy cleaning and cooking for you both. "Ah, don't raise a finger sweetie, daddy'll do it for you." He babies you so much it's fucking annoying. "No, don't touch that hun, dad's got it!" 

+ God, he definitely uses it as a way to get you to spend time with him. You always cave in, and Ethan knows it. You know how much daddy works to keep you happy, right? "Sorry baby, my back is just so sore from working all day... How about we watch some movies? Didn't you want to watch that one movie...?" 

+ If you couldn't tell, Ethan is extremely manipulative. He's willing to gaslight you into obeying his rules, and has no remorse doing so. Ethan knows he's doing the right thing, so if it means he has to guilt trip you a little than he doesn't mind one bit.

+ He's also really delusional. Ethan has this fantasy of you never growing old, staying around with him forever. Ethan will always see you as the little baby who'd snuggle up to him when you were scared, and would only be comforted by a big hug and a warm glass of milk. You'll always be daddy's little royal in his eyes. But when you grow up and start to drift away from him? Well, Ethan's going to make sure that doesn't happen.

+ Ethan will spoil you rotten. His job pays him well, very well to be exact. He has such a soft spot for you he can't bring himself to say no. With a carefully timed "Please, dad?" and a flutter of your lashes, Ethan is already buying you whatever you want and more. 

+ He does have moments where he absolutely refuses though; there's no convincing him otherwise and that's final. Ethan feels extremely guilty about this later on and makes it up to you with treats and a present some time afterwards.

+ Touching on the last on: Ethan is really cheesy when it comes to spending time with you. Matching clothes? He's a sucker for it. Movie nights with all of your favourite snacks and drinks? Ethan's already got it set up. It doesn't matter to him how you want to spend time together, as long as you're happy, he's happy. 

+ Ethan desperately tries to be relatable, often researching into your interests and hobbies as much as he can. You like to draw? Here, dad's got you the best art supplies that he could find. Like a band? Ethan's already bought you a bunch of merch. (Well, if the band is up to his standards.)

+ Adding onto that— Ethan is a total helicopter dad. He has to monitor EVERYTHING you do on the internet. Well, not that you know of course. He has eyes on everything you do; every text and app are strictly monitored. If Ethan finds something he doesn't like than... Well, you ain't getting your phone back for a long time. 

+ Ethan does the same with music you listen to. More than one swear word and he's confiscating your phone. He's on edge if he even hears the word 'fuck' come from your phone. (Despite having quite the sailors mouth himself.) You're his baby, how could you be listening to such inappropriate songs?!

+ You'll probably learn how to dodge his efforts eventually, but Ethan always finds away to corner you again. You're forever trapped in his nest, treated like fragile porcelain.

+ Ethan is also weary of who you talk to. During childhood, you've been homeschooled. Probably due to the whole Dulvey incident; both to keep it on the down-low and because Ethan is anxious. What if you get bullied? He can't have that happen to his precious baby! 

+ The only people you've ever talked to when you were young was probably Mr. Redfield, your dad, and your tutor. Chris is like an uncle to you; equally as protective of you like your father. It's hell when you try to ask Chris to back you up against your dad's mother goose ways. 

+ It usually goes like this. "Uncle, come on! He's being paranoid again!"

"(Y/n), listen to your father. He's just trying to protect you, kid." 

+ During middle school, you managed to convince Ethan to let you go to public school. He was very weary about it, and would drop you off and pick you up every day. Everyday, he interrogates you on how your day was. It goes something like this.

+ "Hey sweetie. How was your day?

"Good. I ate the lunch you packed me."

"That's great, honey. Anyone picking on you?"

"Um, No?"

"Any boys or girls you like—"

"DAD!" 

+ Ethan gets lonesome without you around all day. He finds himself checking your room more often, and makes you handmade lunches packed with love. He leaves little notes in them too. "Hope you have a great day, love dad." He makes the fruits and veggies into little shapes, and cuts your sandwiches into hearts. Kids laugh at you about it, but you knew better than to tell Ethan about it. Besides— They were delicious!

+ If you manage to make a friend, than good luck keeping them around. Ethan's usually a sweetheart to you, but your friends? Not as much. He's intimidating when he wants to be. Ethan is asking questions like crazy. He probably knows more about your friend than you do at this point. You quickly learn that it's better to go to their house than your own. That's if Ethan allows you, of course.

+ Oh, don't even bother trying to run off to hangout with friends either. Ethan specifically requested Chris for a tracker to be implanted in your phone so he can keep eyes on you at all times. Chris and Ethan are already pulling up at your friends house, honking the horn and rushing out of the car. 

+ "Is... Is there someone honking outside?"

*deep sigh.* "That's probably my dad..." *VIOLENT HONK.* "... Maybe my uncle too." 

+ Oh god, don't even MENTION a crush around Ethan. Ethan loses his mind just thinking about the concept, nonetheless an actual crush. He's immediately on your case if notices your acting different. You dress differently, as if you're dressing to impress... You come home giddy and doe-eyed, like you've just been swept off your feet. Ethan knows these signs all too well. 

+ He should've expected it sooner or later, but he's tearing out his hair just thinking of some random kid placing their hands on you, kissing you, just— doing ANYTHING to you. It's driving him up the walls. Ethan can't really do anything either, seeing as he's a grown adult and your crush is way younger than him. 

+ God, if you're heartbroken than he's never felt more relieved in his life. Ethan feels bad for the most part, but as he's holding you to his chest while you sob, he's jumping for joy on the inside. Luckily, Chris has some connections that come in handy during times like this. All he had to do was threaten the kids family! So simple!

+ There's no doubt that Ethan would drop anything for you, so when you're whisked away to a remote village by a mother desperate to bring back her child, well... Ethan is going through hell and back to bring back his baby. He can't lose you, you're all he's got. Fuck the rest of that dammed village, Ethan will tear through friend or foe to get to you.

Look, I'll be the first to admit that I don't like going to Starbases. Doesn't matter if it's in Human, K'laxi or Xenni space. They're too crowded, too regulated, and the local authorities somehow have gotten word about me. It really is a shame, because I consider it my calling to make sure every sapient in known space that wants my wares can get them.

Regardless, I found myself at that joint Human/K'laxi Starbase near the border. You know the one, it's made up of an old K'laxi research station, an old Starjumper and like 50 years of ad hoc additions. If I have to go to a Starbase, one like this is about all I can stand.

The Medicine Hat docked on an umbilical - they have claustrophobia and flatly refuse to go inside a docking bay - early in the week. After a quick song and dance from Entry Control I was in and wandering.

By the way, if anyone asks, my name is Elias Somethingorother, of the Parvati Somethingorothers. We're a prestigious family and not at all made up; don't pollute the air with your lies!

Anyway, I was making my way down the promenade admiring the art, when I saw a restaurant that was offering an all day breakfast. Breakfast being one of my favorite meals I stopped in.

I was pleased to see the place was jumping. Breakfast is an important meal of the day, even during late afternoon. I was seated and ordered the pancakes. When they arrived, they brought me a full pitcher of syrup. Suspicious, I took a sniff. Not only was it real Maple Syrup, but it smelled like one of my own batches. Maybe last years crop.

Furious, I leapt to my feet and stormed back into the kitchen. "Where did you get this syrup!" I demanded to the frightened kitchen staff while swinging the pitcher around.

"W-we got a delivery of it last week from a K'laxi." one of the cooks manages to say, while shrinking from my wrath. "She gave us a discount if we promised to only buy from her."

"Really? Interesting." I had started to calm down, but was still pretty upset. "Do you know anything else about them?"

"She said her name was Vivenni and that she had no problems supplying us or anyone on the Starbase. Now please sir, get out, you're scaring the customers and the staff."

I left, but not before taking the entire pitcher of maple syrup I was holding as I walked out.

I was on a mission now.

It took me 4 weeks, visiting two more Starbases and linking back to Lethbridge before I found her. It had turned out that she had bought some of my syrup from a reseller and decided that it was too good to leave to one poor, solitary human entrepreneur in the galaxy to supply everyone. She traced my supply back to Canada and started buying direct.

Long story short, we're dating now and business partners. She had so many excellent ideas about how to expand the business and she was just so charming and alluring that I couldn't help myself. The Hat thinks I've gone off the deep end and that it'll all end in tears, but like I told them it's better to have loved and lost than never loved at all. I know I heard that from somewhere.

You really can never tell when love will come visiting. It always pays to keep an eye out for it.

Running out of lies

Found by Anathema, Cyrus has to face reality again, and it hurts. -----------------

“Leave me alone!” The words are hushed coming out of your mouth as you try to repack all of your supplies.

“Not until I get some answers”

“You’re drawing attention” you protest because there already are some looks turning your way. 

“Then calm down if that’s what bothers you. Also, let me carry that,” They say, taking hold of the easel you rescued from the garbage. 

“I don’t need help” 

“You’re limping, I have eyes”

You choose silence because you’re not in the mood to explain how you got grazed by a bullet on a sewer, saying nothing more as they walk with you for the next blocks heading towards the bus stop that is your only escape route. 

They don’t share in the silence.

“Out with it. What happened?” 

“There we go again.”

“I’m not gonna stop”

“Told you, I don’t want to talk about it” you reply almost immediately.  -------------

“Dr. Elderidge got her PharmaCore research back in an envelope under her door the day you banished. That’s the only clue I had that you were alive and I couldn’t tell the others. Do you realize they’re still looking for you? How worried they are?”

“Well, now you found me so they can stop. Besides, there’s no reason to be worried, not like I’m part of the team anyways. I’m just a nobody.”

“You’re not some nobody! What the fuck man?”

“I don’t need your help, or your concern, or whatever you’re trying to do! I’m gonna be an artist now, don’t you see??!” you make a point to tap the easel he’s carrying. “I just sell the shit I do and buy stuff with it. Like everyone else does” 

That gives them some pause. Enough for you to snatch the easel from them and start walking away. Not that it stops them from following after the initial shock.

“You’re going to quit?! Why?” 

“None of your business. The only reason I haven’t returned the suit is that I’m trying to wash it myself. Once I get the sewer stench from it, I’ll return i’ll mail it to your HQ” 

“What happened down there?”

“Nothing happened.”

“Would it kill you to just talk to me? You’re not making sense, you did everything you could to be a hero and now you’re throwing it all away? There has to be a reason… and what’s up with that scarf? It’s a million degrees out here!”

“Leave the scarf alon-...”

But their hands are already grabbing for it. 

It’s not like the move’s not telegraphed in your mind, but you have your hands full and you’re not fast enough to avoid them as they snatch it off your neck. 

“This thing is … Fuck! Cyrus what happened?!” 

“Please put that back on?” you beg. “I didn’t want anyone to see.” 

They just stand there holding the scarf, staring at them—clear-as-day bruises and marks on your throat, where Husk tried to strangle you. Thankfully then the scarf goes back on, gently, their hands treating you as if you were suddenly made of glass. 

“Thank you.” 

They give you an evaluating look, their mind quickly putting together the pieces of the puzzle. You avoid the prying eyes and take off, but again you are followed.

“The fuck… Are you ok?” 

“Course I am. It’s nothing.” You try to dismiss the marks they saw, but their mind clenches around them, far too tight for the kind of telepathy you’re capable of in this state. 

Shit.  

“What did Husk do to you?…” you can feel the anger mounting on them, directed at whoever did this to you. 

“I don’t want to talk about that!” you yell, far louder than you intended.

“... then why are you tearing up?” 

SHITSHITSHIT

“I’m not! Stop asking questions! You’re seeing things. I’m fine.  Never been better! Now go away!” 

You add suggestions to your words, but your current telepathy would fail the most basic examinations back at the farm. Sloppy, emotional, obvious lies won’t cut it against someone so determined.

They sigh in frustration, following you, trying to understand. Not something you can help them with. Tears? Since when are you so fucking weak? 

You’re not supposed to cry, least of all with other people around.

“Stop running!”

“I’m not running!” You lie. 

What else can you do? 

Husk just wanted to kill you. They never meant to shatter your vision of the world. No, you’re the one who did it all by yourself, getting into their mind uninvited. 

How do you explain that now you know things you wish you didn’t and nothing makes sense? Like how you still feel serving the goals of the Special Directive is the “right” thing to do, but you can’t deny knowing how vile it truly is? 

Husk opened your eyes to the horrors humans are capable of and there is no closing that door now.    

“Does the painting gig help?” Themmie asks understanding too much without even knowing you.  

“Why do you care?” you ask bitterly because it’s too true.

“Because you almost die trying to help me and Ferra, you idiot!” they say, hand on your shoulder, looking into your eyes. “It’s my fault. I know what Husk does to people!”  Again you look away, unable to hold their gaze, just as you don’t understand the emotions inside their mind right now. 

Guilt? Remorse? 

Humans are too darn complicated, and you don’t know why but Themmie feeling bad because of your last telepathic screwup with Husk just feels wrong. 

“Hey, I’m telling you…It’s nothing. I mean… I get the files or not? That’s all that matters. I swear I’m fine. I mean.. I’ll be fine.” you try to reassure them. 

And again you fail. The gesture makes them feel even worse. 

You’re the one hurt, they should be the ones trying to make you feel better, not the other way around. That’s how Themmie sees it at least. 

It’s painful… how they think this is all their fault. Blaming it all on himself just as…

Just as you do. 

 “Sides, I swear I’m going to hunt that Husk down, and when I find them…”

“No! Husk’s not going to bother anyone else ever again!” you spit out, wishing you had bit your tongue immediately afterward. 

“What?”

Shit. You hate being this weak. 

Themmie’s concern is wearing you down, but would it be so bad to say something?

 “... fine. Alright, Fuck it. I’ll tell you what happened. Some of it at least” 

“Let’s keep walking while we talk. That helps sometimes,” they say, knowing you more than they should once again. 

The traffic light changes and you cross, thinking about how to start. 

Should you lie?

But what kind of lie would that be? You don’t even know which way it should point.

No, no lies. Just the truth, at least what you can give them. 

“It’s simple. I thought I could go and fight Husk alone, and they were getting away while you were busy with the police and Carter”

“We told you how dangerous they are!”

“You think I don’t know that now?!” Your voice grows louder than you wished for.

“Sorry! I shouldn’t interrupt you. Go on please”

“If you let me” you grumble, annoyed. “We fought. They mopped the floor with me and that’s all I’m going to say about it.”

“That’s fine. That’s totally fine. You don’t need to go into details.” 

“You saw some of the details.” you rub the scarf around your throat. “Promise me you won’t tell”

“I promise I won’t.” And it’s not a lie. Not one you can feel. 

“Thanks. Things got uh… less than ideal… and uh… some people showed up.”

“People? What people?”

“Other people. People Husk pissed off” You can’t tell them it’s the special directive because no one is supposed to know that. Looks like once again you’re helping them hide their secrets. “So they were distracted and I took the chance to get the hell out of there”

“And then…?”

“There were gunshots. I lost track of Husk’s mind after that.”

“Dead?”

“They were definitely not firing blanks” you bite your lip. “I started running and I got lost in the tunnels… It was hard to breathe, it was dark, It smelled like shit… and I couldn’t see where I was going, and … and… and…”

And Husk’s memories took too darn long to banish. You can never retain anything, but of all things, this shit got stuck in your brain. Everything they ever told you became a lie, and you wanted to forget.

The words die and you cover your face. You don’t want Themmie to see you tearing up again 

But they step forward, wrapping their arms around you in one big hug. 

“It’s ok. You’re ok now. It’s over”

You can’t remember ever feeling this weak and useless in your life.  Regenes are not made for this. Definitely malfunctioning.  Not supposed to be crying on someone else’s shoulder.

It can’t be real. It can’t be happening to you. You want to push them away and break free, show them it’s nothing at all. But you can’t fucking stop crying anymore. Mourning the lies you told yourself. That they always knew better. That they had a great plan for all of you. That you had a purpose.

The lies that kept your world glued together, even after you escaped. 

“It’s going to be alright. I’m here for you,” They say. 

How could it be alright, when everything is falling apart?

FERRETS 101 THE BASICS TO YOUR NOODLE BEAR

so as you can tell, this is my ferret blog, my ferrets where adopted, I wanted to go over mistakes new owners make, and information you won’t commonly hear about your little weasel partner!

for starters MEAT ONLY!! Ferrets can only have meat, raw feeding ferrets is the best diet for them, but it’s best to do your own research if you must kibble feed them, remember, ferrets are not cheap, and if you won’t put in all the effort because of the price, you shouldn’t have a ferret. Remember to stay up to date on ferret information, and do tons and tons of research. DONT FEED THEM PEANUT BUTTER OR RAISINS OR BANANAS! They have little intestines that can’t handle that kind of food, they might enjoy it, but just because you enjoy the taste of gasoline doesn’t mean you should eat it.

DONT BUY THEM FROM PETSTORES

I cannot stress this enough, don’t get a ferret from a pet store, don’t ever get one from a pet store, I know it’s tempting, but please find a privet breeder or just rescue one, it’s actually a lot cheaper, even in the long run it’s cheaper since the ferret will probably have less health problems, ferrets with a blue tattoo in their ear have come from cruel ferret breeding companies.

Etsy is great for ferret supplies, it’s all made by ferret owners who care about ferrets and not some capitalist company

FERRETS ARE NOT CAGE ANIMALS, they can build up cage rage from being in a cage for too long, also fuck your stupid little “Guinea pig” cage, don’t EVER put a ferret in that, that’s just saying “I don’t know what I’m doing”, it’s even too small for a Guinea pig. Get a nice big strong cage, id recommend the feisty ferret cage, it’s strong and large, my ferrets get lots of out time so it’s the perfect size for them. Also no bedding, just don’t.

Speaking of out time, ferrets are active at dusk and dawn, the rest of the time they sleep, when they’re sleeping it’s a great time to bond with them, if you want to bond with a ferret you can give them a used sweatshirt to sleep in, it’ll get them used to your scent and they’ll like you more. Ferrets are also pretty smart and can be taught tricks, it just takes tons and tons of time.

NEVER GET ONE FERRET. Unless your ferret is aggressive towards other ferrets (they play fight btw, that’s the way they play, make sure they’re actually aggressive and not just playing) then you should have two ferrets.

Ferret toys are important since they have tons of energy, my ferrets love crinkle tubes, normal tubes, packing peanut pits, and balls with hidden treats, but every ferret is different, I’d highly recommend a tube though, since they’re tunneling animals.

Your ferret is flexible but not unbreakable, support their bottoms, especially large ones. Don’t risk that vet bill for their back, it could result in them being put down.

Ferrets like hammocks, but mine also like to sleep in blankets, laundry, and dark places.

They’re very curious, if you bring something new in their environment, they’ll be interested.

Opened my Etsy Shop!

Hello! o/ I mentioned in last night's blog post that THIS post was coming today, so here we are!

It took a while to gain the courage for me to do this, but I finally opened my Etsy shop!

With my Etsy shop open, the path is open for me to place Resin pieces in it whenever I desire to. All my products will be in one place. And like before when my shop was on RedBubble, all items in my Etsy are still using my own self-created art/graphics with no use of AI.

I use a completely outdated freebie version of Photoshop CS2 for my art. I show some of my layer work here on my Tumblr if anyone is ever curious enough to browse through my posts or follow. I might make it a habit to show more of that in the future because the world is becoming more accustomed to using AI and society is becoming split on the matter.

But enough on this controversial topic, I just wanted to make it clear that I do NOT use AI and I'm not a fan of it in the art world.

I knew I wanted a Print-to-Order on-Demand "Partner" and that was something I was looking heavily into for the longest time. Actually I think this was causing me the most anxiety, because this is important! This is where quality of products comes in. I do my homework guys. I research thoroughly.

I found one I'm very pleased with, and it's Printful. Look forward to future blog posts similar to my "RedBubble Product Review Posts", because I've ordered items from Printful with my graphics and I'll be doing reviews on their items. I'll try to do them more often too 👍🏻 (assuming life doesn't get in the way and I have funds to do so, lol)

So far I've added 38 listings to my shop. I don't want to overcrowd it. I feel for the amount of designs I have and the amount of products Printful has available for me to utilize, this is balanced. From here I'll work on new designs.

If there is something OLD that you may have liked (in my RB shop) and is no longer available (in my Etsy shop), I apologize, but I have to put the past behind me and move forward.

There is a fear of "Will this work for me, or not?" on Etsy, because I need to pull in traffic and their rating requirement system is harsh- basically need 5-stars otherwise you drop out of their search engines entirely. But "nothing risked, nothing gained".

I'm putting this at the bottom of the post because it's more on the ranting side, but RedBubble upped their tier fees again which also inspired much of this change.

I mentioned this in a Tumblr post a couple days ago, but to break it down and put it in perspective:

An Artist in "Redbubble Standard" tier who earned a 25$ paycheck in a month used to get charged an 11$ fee. That's 43%. Couldn't change their tier. It progressively scales worse, and all us RB sellers thought that was bad.

Now with their new system, that they tried to play off as "This will include a fee increase of less than $1 for most artists.", is significantly worse. (That's literally how they phrased it in the e-mail)

If you make 25$ a month in "Redbubble Standard" tier, you get charged a 17$ fee. That's 67%. And it continues to rise at an insane rate- in the 70%+ range.

They have a form you can attempt to submit, trying to "get a real person to reevaluate your shop to be placed in a different tier"- but that doesn't work. I tried it. Pretty sure that inspires false hope and it's bogus. I didn't even get an automated basic reply back. Not a "you submitted a form!" or "you've been denied." or "your evaluation is in progress.", nothing.

RedBubble products were okay quality. At times the quality wasn't that great in my opinion but people liked the items I felt that way about and economics is all about supply & demand 🤷🏻‍♀️. I was fine selling their items because the pricing was on par with the quality. The saying "You get what you pay for." comes to mind. But would I go out of the way to buy their items? No.

And I'm going to apologize again if any or all of this sounds negative or sarcastic or moody... I'm just saying things like I see it 😅🫠
