2. who sleeps in and who is the early bird?

She groans against the fluffed pillows as he pokes at her side causing her to jilt in response. His soft chuckle makes her sleepy haze relinquish some animosity she has against him, because she loves that sound.

Yes, he's waken her up in the early hours of the day, but she turns onto her side as she watches her boyfriend wiggle his thick eyebrows at her.

He holds the wonky mug he made for her when they went on their pottery date last week.

"Morning, baby" he hums.

12. which of the two rolls their eyes the most often?

"I just cannot stand when people say that. I feel like they're talking down to me or something." she says, flying her hands up in attempt to make his understand her annoyance.

Evan presses his lips together, nodding and humming along to her every word causing y/n to narrow her gaze at her boyfriend as she watches him make lunch at the kitchen counter.

"But, I also love when you put the mayonnaise on top of the sandwich instead of inside" she says, challenging his listening capabilities. "you know?"

"mhm" he hums as he slices her sandwich in half.

Evan reaches for bag of jalapeño chips and pours some onto her plate before reaching for the salt and vinegar bag. Y/n simply cannot eat a sandwich without both chip choices.

"Wait, what-" he blinks, holding the bag of chips mid tilt.

y/n rolls her eyes so dramatically that Evan pouts as he watches her small frame tremble with the laughter she lets out, bouncing off of the kitchen walls, making her boyfriends cheeks turn ruby red.

22. who gets more easily embarrassed?

she stood in front of the full length mirror in the hallway of his newly renovated Soho apartment. She couldn't help but stop dead In her tracks when she walked past it.

It was date night and they had planned on meeting at his before heading out. Y/n hadn't seen him yet. letting herself in she didn't see the harm in checking herself out once again before approaching him.

She had bought a new skirt and wanted it to look perfect before showing him. Y/n patted down the length letting her fingers trail down and pull the material down, noticing that it had ridden up her thighs more than she wanted.

"There you are, I was about to call you!" she heard his voice before she saw him leaning against the wall.

"Sorry, I didn't realize how quiet I closed the door." she giggled.

Evan shook his head at her 'sorry' and stepped closer to his girlfriend. He hummed happily, placing his hands against her cheeks and pulled her closer into his chest. Y/n smiled sweetly as she felt his lips fan against her hair and rest atop her forehead.

"This skirt is telling me we should just stay in." he nearly whispered.

Y/n's eyes widened up at her boyfriend and she yelped as she felt his hands roam down her body and rest dangerously low against her hips.

"No way. This skirt is screaming to be out in the village!" she blushed.

"That won't be the only screaming tonight." he teased causing y/n to groan and hide her face into his chest causing him to let out a loud and contagious laugh.

"Don't be a weirdo or I'll call you old!" she said causing him to let out a playful gasp.

32. who is the first to apologize?

The couple sit in silence as cars zoom all around them while he makes his way down the highway. His focus is on the road as she twiddles her thumbs and bites her lip to keep her from saying something stupid.

Y/n peaks over at Evan and frown as she notices how tight he is clenching the steering wheel and how tight his jaw is clenched. He has a bad habit of jaw clenching and she knows how much it will bother him and give him a headache later.

"Evan?" she says just loud enough to hear over the traffic.

He hums in response, not looking at her as he keeps his eyes glued to the road. "Careful with your jaw, okay?"

Evan glances at her with a look of confusing before opening his mouth and wincing, feeling immediate relief. "oh." he sighs. "Thanks" he adds.

Y/n smiles and rests her head back against the head rest. "I didn't mean it like that. You know I would never think that of you" she finally says.

Evan purses his lips but doesn't say a word.

"I'm sorry. I did not mean for what I said to come across that way." she presses.

Evan twitches slightly, his eyes breaking focus and turns to give her a quick, meaningful glance. "I know baby. I'm sorry too." he sighs, placing his hand on her knee.

42. who has the most self-control?

Y/n can barley hear her own thoughts as she walks hand in hand with him down the carpet. She can hear the clinks of the cameras and the buzz of people shouting and laughing all around her.

She shakes with every step that he leads her with and she trembles at the thought of seeing one of his affluent ex- partners. Y/n takes a deep breath after they make a quick halt and there in the midst of it all, she peers up at him.

His eyes search her features with the softness of his love causing the movements around them to suddenly disappear as he squeezes her hands him his large one's and gives her that million dollar smile she adores.

"You are doing so good, baby. Almost at the end." he cheers.

But, in the end, she would walk a million more miles in these heels for him if he asked her to.

52. Who whines the most when they get sick?

Her coughing fit ends when he places the cup of fresh tea on the coffee table. He looks down at her with worry as she shivers, removing her hand out of the warm cacoon her fuzzy blanket provided.

"I hate this." she whines.

"I know" he frowns.

"I hate this with a burning passion! You don't even know!"

Evan holds back a smile and crossed his arms over his chest. "Oh, I know!' he said mimicking her whiney tone.

62. who's more likely to buy some stupid NFT just before it looks cool? (btw I have no idea what an NFT is?? is it artwork?)

Y/n bursts through the door with the piece behind her back causing Evan to raise his brown up at her while he takes a sip of his coffee.

He looks at her questionably as she strides over to him and pulls out the artwork that she had hiding behind her back for the minuet it took her to slide her shoes off and walk over to him.

"What's up with you?" he asked bemused.

"Only the coolest thing to ever exist! I mean look at this." she says proudly, holding the frame out in front of her so that Evan could take a good look at what she was presenting to him.

His deadpanned glance caused her to roll her eyes and he shook his head and groaned. "That is complete shit, y/n. Please tell me you're joking!" he laughs.

Y/n glares at him and huffs out as she swiftly turns away from him and makes her way towards his office. "I'm hanging it up in here so you'll alway remember what an amazing and loving girlfriend I am for getting you something so cool and interesting."

Evan scoffs, "That's only because you don't have room for it in your apartment!"

i feel like they balance each other out pretty well in grocery shopping, actually, lol. like, toye tends to be a little too strict with what he buys and ends up leaving the store with like. a bag of spinach. meanwhile luz ends up leaving with around twenty chockfull bags because he psychs himself out and is CERTAIN they will need an ottoman in the Near Future. so toye tends to be Too Serious and luz tends to be Too Random but like. they balance the pH. does that even make sense

to answer your question:

can i cheat a bit and give you two favorite gsr episodes?

my favorite-favorite gsr episode is 04x12 "butterflied" (which, coincidentally, first aired twenty years ago yesterday, on january 15th, 2004). it is, to my mind, the most technically perfect teleplay in all of csi.

one of the rare examples of an episode that places grissom and sara's relationship "front and center," it is nevertheless remarkably subtle, still operating mostly on a subtextual level. until grissom gives his monologue at the end, he actually speaks very little throughout, and yet his emotions couldn't be louder. likewise, though we get very few actual interactions between him and sara start to finish, they couldn't be more conscious of each other, orbiting around along concentric paths like two celestial objects trapped in the same gravity. grissom's haunted, heartsick looks alone are worth the price of admission, but of course the pièce de résistance is his monologue at the end—and then the gut-punch reveal to the audience that sara listened in on the whole thing. the episode really is peak angst done well and a watershed in terms of grissom and sara's relationship.

that said, "butterflied" is also not super cheerful or happy-shippy, so i will also offer up my favorite feel-good gsr episode, which is episode 02x16 "primum non nocere"—or as i like to call it "gsr: flirting on ice." truly, nothing beats the iconic "since i met you" scene, but there are also myriad other delightful little grissom and sara exchanges throughout, from them tag-teaming to give greg a rough time to them making eyes at each other while processing bedsheets. this episode is very much one of those "married before they were married" episodes, and it's one i tend to watch whenever i just want to enjoy my otp being stupidly in love with each other.

as for my favorite sara episode, i've gotta go with episode 08x01 "dead doll." sara's escape from natalie davis's deathtrap showcases everything i love about that girl, including her gutsiness, rawness, intelligence, resilience, vulnerability, stubbornness, and irrepressible survival instinct. i'm especially fond of the scene just before sara finally passes out at the side of the highway, where she's walking through the desert, doing simple math problems to keep herself conscious. forget "damsel in distress;" sara saves herself, and jorja fox delivers a masterclass performance in the process.

✨Unconventional Writer’s Ask✨

— How long have you been writing fanfiction?

Not sure, but sometime around 1990 I wrote a story in which the B52's travel the length of Route 66 (or Highway 61?) to confront and ultimately defeat Satan, who has possessed the body of a Republican frat boy and is attempting to destroy the world from the kid's basement rec room. I'm a little fuzzy on the details, but it was a long time ago. No ships or anything, but I might have been a minor character. I didn't know fanfiction was even a thing. I was just trying to entertain two specific friends.

— Do you have a favorite word? (One that you love. Doesn’t necessarily have to be one you use all the time.)

Not a favorite, but I like the sounds of certain words. Here's one: riparian.

— Share a favorite run-on sentence that you’ve written.

From Boy:

I’m far away from the fat ladies and the pretty girls and the children who run in the sand like little birds and I’m far away even from the smell of chips and the ice cream bells and I think I might have actually walked to the end of the world.

Banter. Nothing makes me happier than having my OTP go on for the equivalent of several pages as if they're a comedy duo, either giving each other a hard time or just doing observational shit about their highly specific Situation.

— Do you have a hyper-specific genre?

I really don't even know what the genres are. I mostly do one-shots, or as we called them in my MFA program, short stories. :P

— Any personal or frequently used tags?

Not really, though once in a while I'll throw in something like "French dudes" or "namechecked politician."

— Share a joke or funny moment that you’ve written that still makes you laugh.

— Best editing tip?

This is hard and I mostly don't practice what I preach, BUT: Try not to edit as you write. Just write. Once you've got the bulk of the fic written, you can go back and edit a zillion times if you want to.

— What drives you to write?

This isn't specific to fanfiction, as I do write other things. But absolutely it is a way to keep verbalizing about my obsessions without haranguing anyone who doesn't want to hear it. This has been the case since I was a kid. I have always been obsessed with something, and I've always written. This is what makes me happy, and I don't even understand not having obsessions. (Why I've been on tumblr for 10 years in midlife.)

— Where do you draw inspiration?

Music, obviously. Comedy. Conversations with friends. Reading a book that's particularly well-written and wanting to apply that same level of quality and detail to a fic about two dadrock men in love. :P

— What is your immediate reaction when you receive a new comment on a fic?

"It's about time" and/or "Thank God."

— What is your biggest challenge in writing?

The part where I have to write.

— 1-2 sentence preview from your current WIP?? (Only if you are willing.)

I don't have one at the moment! Got very busy with day job and of course with achtoonbaby.com. (Shameless plug.)

— What story or scene are you most proud of?

I am still most proud of Boy, despite having written a lot of stuff subsequently. While it's not historically accurate, I did write it in a kind of fever dream where I felt I was really channeling my protagonist. We'll see if that's the case when his memoir comes out.

I don’t have enough followers for an ask meme--let alone one for a niche fandom like Acceleracers--so I’m just gonna fill (most of) this out on my oWN. Credit goes to @tomiyeee for the meme and the post can be found here!

How did you first get into the series? It’s all @schnellicanth‘s fault (and I love him for it) -- I think it was around 2019? We watched it for a group movie night, and MAN I thought for sure I’d be able to multitask during World Race... couldn’t. Didn’t. I was enthralled.

What do you like most about the series? I’m a character enjoyer & there are, in fact, many very lovely characters to enjoy. I just.. I love them, man. There’s really only one that I actively dislike, and that’s uhh. Vert’s dad. Sorry, dude. Do better.

Favorite & least favorite movie? I think World Race/Highway 35 is the weak link in the series as a whole? It’s still super enjoyable, don’t get me wrong! But it’s less imminently rewatchable for me (when all by myself, anyway).

I think my favourite is Breaking Point? Really enjoy the drama, aha. Also, in the (unlisted) Initial eDition put together by my aforementioned friend--he put m.o.v.e’s “Outsoar the Rainbow” over the Silencerz’ opening sequence. And it’s probably one of my most favourite things ever.

Favorite & least favorite character(s)? My ultimate fave is Wylde -- he’s my son. I won’t accept criticism. I know he’s a huge jerk in Acceleracers, but 8′) as a former Younger Sibling with a complicated relationship to my elder brother? Relatable. He’s really just a scared / traumatised kid, man... Least favourite! I think I already mentioned... it’s Major Wheeler. I sympathise with being a single parent & a widower, but also man. There’s a couple of things he says which REALLY bug me, y’know? ‘You don’t know how sorry I am’ isn’t an apology! Do better. Vert deserves better.

Favorite & least favorite car(s)? I may be biased, but I do really like Spinebuster, aha. Also, Bassline. I’m not sure I have a least fave? Tho the Deora II is sure silly lookin.

Thoughts on the redesigns? I think they’re fine! Taro takes a bit of a hit & I def prefer his WR look, but I think he’s mostly victim to art style rather than the design itself. (also I find Wylde’s Princess Peach lips v funny & good)

Favorite World Race team? Wave Rippers :p Probably for being more memorable than the others, since they have like. the highest number of prominent cast members.

Teku or Metal Maniacs? I love them equally. They both have really fun team dynamics <3

Silencerz or the Drones? Drones. They sure ain’t good guys, but I trust the Silencerz less...

What ships do you like (if any)? I’ve created my own Dinghy. >>;;

My OTP is Vert/Mark Wylde -- like post-canon, once they’ve had a chance to make up. Coz I think it’s a damn shame that the breakdown in their friendship was never addressed :< I wan them to... be friends.... and maybe more....

Tho I’ve seen a lot of Vert/Nolo & Vert/Shirako in the fandom tag. I think that’s also super valid and neat.

Otherwise? I think I polycule’d Taro/Kurt/Karma/Lani together. Just. As ya do. Kadeem can also get in there if he wants. It’s not a super uniform relationship--some are closer to and/or more romantic with certain members more than others--but I can’t & shan’t be tamed.

I do enjoy Karma/Lani & Taro/Kadeem as individual ships. Maybe Taro/Lani with a little post-canon patching up. Though, Kurt I don’t really ship with anyone by himself. Sorry, man >u<

Random headcanon/theory about [insert character/faction/event/etc]? Gosh, I have so many. I am very pleased, though, with the random HC I have that Shirako lives with his grandparents (or, rather, they live with him). They’re both very supportive & interested in his hobbies.

Nothing happened to his parents, mind. They just decided to move to Japan not long after he became an adult, and he chose to stay. He loves his grandparents & his friends very much. :>

Any crossover/AU ideas? Uhhh, I think I tossed around the idea of an Oban Star-Racers crossover -- didn’t really come up with anything. I just think it would be neat to smash my two favourite racing series together.

If you could change anything about the story, what would it be? The only thing I can think of is like. :( Kadeem. I don’t mind so much what happens as much as I wish there had been time to truly resolve everything. Kadeem deserves to live and be happy.

Do you have any unpopular opinions about the series? Well, just based on what I’ve seen in the tags, I seem to be in the minority when I say I really love Mark Wylde. So, take that as you will.

Since I think there’s some really neat narrative parallels between Mark & Kurt’s relationship vs Vert and Major Wheeler’s relationship... Vert takes the other path. Instead of unconditional forgiveness, Vert decides that, while he still loves his father, doesn’t hate him... nothing like that. It’s just really complicated. Maybe it’s better right now if he takes time away from his father.

They get along with Jonah and Cecil and Chris and Hayle.

3. Who is the one who loves to take pictures?

Jayden loves taking pictures.

4. What would they dress up as? (for Halloween)

They don't dress up for Halloween. Haven't really done so since the accident and being stalked by Jasper's angry ghost.

5. Who loves kids more?

They both love kids but it's Jayden who would have loved to have more kids.

6. Do either of them have a crazy ex?

The only ex is Jasper who was obsessed with Evan. With Chris's help we won't be seeing him again.

7. Who is the forgetful one?

Neither one is prone to forgetting things; although Jayden's pain meds play with his memory and he tends to forget more things than Evan does.

8. What do they do for Valentines Day?

They have a special family dinner where they exchange cards with each other. The kids usually make cards to give to them and each other. Jayden will have a dozen roses delivered to the house for everyone to share and Evan brings home a large box of chocolates that they all share.

9. Who has the better comebacks?

Jayden had the quick comebacks especially when they were younger. He doesn't say them as often now because he's realized that sometimes Evan takes them a little too literally and Jayden dislikes the wounded look that comes across Evan's face.

10. Who is the hopeless romantic?

Evan is the hopeless romantic but Jayden doesn't mind as he's learned that it's nice knowing someone thinks of you enough to leave little heart shaped notes scattered around the house for you to find.

Alright, Let's have a discussion.

I am fully aware that I am not a big blog, nor is this going to gain much in the way of traction, however, I'm sick and tired of this so it's Soapbox time.

As I'm sure many of my friends and followers have noticed, I've barely been on here the past year and a half. Little to no reblogs from me, no likes, and no new content to speak of. Now, some reasons are not owed to you, but this most recent string of nonsense has broken my silence.

I have spent months, MONTHS watching all my friends get harrassed and chased down by anons for their content, who they chose to be friends with, or even their private issues with other people. I have had several leave altogether, which hurts because I have no other way of reaching them. And if that's not bad enough, you have taken it upon yourselves to FUCKING SPEW YOUR BULLSHIT AND YOUR AGENDA ON THEIR FICS. On a TOTALLY DIFFERENT WEBSITE.

You say we're the ones doing the bullying, the gaslighting, being exclusive of whatever, but the fact is, we don't know who to fucking trust anymore.

YOU...YOU are the ones that are chasing us down wherever you can find us. I have sat here and said NOTHING to anyone, I've kept my had down, barely reblogged or liked anything for fear, and just no desire to have anything to do with any of it. And yet, YOU dragged me into this by coming onto one of my fics, one that hasn't been updated in almost a YEAR, and last reviewed/interacted with in September to clue me in on things that I have no part in. And then you have the AUDACITY to say you're the ones looking out for the oc community. A community doesn't do this. They don't go around spreading other people's business and life choices to strangers. They don't fucking CHASE PEOPLE to harass them, or yell at them, or spew out holier than that BULLSHIT at each other. You deal with things privately. You are just as bad as the anons you CLAIM to be fighting against. So if you are part of this bullshit OFC or whatever letter combination you are a part of, lose my blog, forget my fics, and GROW THE FUCK UP.

~~ Introducing Highway to Hell: A Stranger Things Story~~

“I’ve been telling you for years, you'd be surprised about the things Nancy Wheeler can and would do...”

The responding statement would haunt Stella Henderson well after it altered her life forever.

“Says the one that went and ditched us the second she got into high school and landed herself some mystery boyfriend.”

The accusation was a false one, but she hasn't been surprised at how Nancy had twisted it when 'sharing' with Barb because it beat the alternative. That the older Henderson was deemed ‘too wild’ by Nancy’s mother, and ‘not good enough’ for her perfect daughter. Playing wild games instead of studying, and partaking in debaucherous substances while she did so. But that wasn't the worst part about the day Karen Wheeler decided that Stella wasn’t allowed in her home anymore, no. wasn't even the fact that Dustin now went over there constantly to partake in a game she’d introduced the younger siblings to. It wasn't even that the very acceptance of it in the boys versus her seemed to cement some antiquated gender roles in play at the Wheelers. No, it was the fact that Nancy seemed to agree and didn't fight for her.

But of course Barb never learned that. Stella had already lost one friend going down that path, so why lose a second, just because Nancy Wheeler "Grew up"? Instead, she caught betwixt two worlds her sophomore year. The world where she’d garnished a truce with Nancy to stay friends with Barb a grade below her, and her secret life of DnD and freakish delight with her boyfriend a year above.

The same boyfriend that snuck into Barb’s funeral to hold her hand, and stayed by her side as she processed the grief. The same boyfriend that she held close and hidden away from everyone who wasn’t in their little club, and would bring her dinner at the game shop- no matter how bad he was at cooking. The very same boyfriend that was unaware of the dangers that continually cursed her brother and his friends the past two years. The boyfriend she’d broken up with in the name of keeping him safe.

But this wasn’t the story of how she lost Barb anyway, or how she’d legitimately rekindled her friendship with Nancy. No, this was the story of how Stella Henderson stopped running from the love of her life, Eddie Munson, and how it took nearly losing him and the rest of her home forever to realize it.
