So I’m uh…very late to the party with these bc I was really trying to sit out whatever bug is going on for me but I saw this the day it came out and was like WHAT????

I did NOT expect the previews to be released so early,but tbh I’m not complaining I was wondering when they were coming out :0c anyways,these were my initial impressions hearing the one in this video and the SIF 2 previews ⬇️⬇️

Ayumu - “Walking Dream” : Not gonna lie,this is not the song I expected to hear from this detective outfit but it’s really good - I like the bells and light waltz-y feel of the instrumentals,it’s not my FAVORITE Ayumu solo but it’s still nice plus it’s just the preview so idk I might change my mind when the full comes out

Kasumi - “Senobi Shittate” : You know what? This is a totally different sound for Kasumin,but I like it quite a bit - Not really my style personally,but the instrumental is really pretty and it shows a more mature Kasumi which is nice (and yes,I’m semi counting this as her black swan era too because of the instrumentals alone)

Shizuku - “Koakuma LOVE ♡” : My immediate thoughts are…HUH???? Like,I had a feeling that her solo may be cutesier due to her outfit choices but like…not like this and I love it so much,it may be one of my favorites so far :0c (but then again,imo Shizuku’s solos are always at least decent so it’s not that big of a surprise ig dndjdj - also everyone saying she swapped song styles with Kasumi is RIGHT omg)

Karin - “My Shadow” : If you look up “Karin Asaka” and put “having a bad song” next to it,you will find NOTHING because FINALLY!!!! KARIN GOT HER JAZZ SOLO!!!!! …ok it’s not exactly jazz more like electro swing but you know what? I will take it,this song is SO good - this one might be up there when it comes to my favorites too bc wow,I hope they keep doing this sort of song in LL

Ai - “Request for U” : Ok,so I was right about Ai getting a more mellow song than usual and honestly?? It works really well for her,it’s still somewhat upbeat and very Ai-y but like Kasumi’s,it shows a different side to her that I like a lot :] it’s rlly cute

Kanata - “Cooking with Love” : WOWOWOW my mind is blown with this one…this might be my favorite out of the album so far and my favorite Kanata solo like it sounds like a magical girl anime ending and I am so about it,we knew with that jirai kei outfit that she was gonna cook and cook she DID,this girl made a whole sweets buffet and I will eat every bite

Setsuna - “Cherry Bomb” : So the words on her merch WERE the title of her song,and boy is this song good too like…these songs were worth the wait - Hayamaru’s voice is fantastic,it’s distinctly different but still very Setsuna sounding,I love the sort of harder rock sound in this song :0c I’m one of the few that’s very 50/50 on Setsuna’s solos but this one is really good,they really cranked up the shounen anime opening vibes for her and I like it a lot

Emma - “Koisuru Sunflower” : This album continues to be full of surprises,I was expecting a slower song due to the outfit but am pleasantly surprised with this mid-tempo calypso-y song - Emma’s songs always have this sort of warm comfy sound,I feel like I’m relaxing on the beach with a fun drink listening to it idk what it is

Rina - “Watashi wa Magnet” : …huh this song is a lot slower than I expected it to be with the outfit,but I think it’s funny that Rina has gotten two love songs consistently although this one is more upbeat and bubbly compared to the more bittersweet somber sound of First Love Again,but it’s not really my style like it’s not terrible it’s just not a song I think I’ll listen to often ykwim

Shioriko - “Koufukuron” : Ok…this is absolutely not how I expected this to sound,like her outfit names were things like “Undead Celebrity” and “Royal Skeleton” - I fully expected this song to be kind of spooky sounding but no…ily Shio but this preview does NOT do the song justice,it just seems so flat in comparison to her other songs I’m kinda disappointed :/

Mia - “Lemonade” : The song is very cute,it gives me very 2009 Hannah Montana but like a good b-side - There’s other Mia solos I like more,but this one is alright and also some of the lyrics are a little…silly but it’s easier to brush past this time (looking at you Toy Doll)

Lanzhu - “5201314 / I Love You for A Lifetime” : And the most unique song title in Love Live goes to…Zhong Lanzhu! But seriously,Lanzhu really does not miss,this song is so good :0c I like that she speaks a little more Mandarin in this song,and even the general vibe of the song reflects that too. It still has her sound,but has elements to it that are new - She truly never makes a bad song

okay mutuals. you're reading a 1970s/80s comic. the original issue has darker, richer colors but clear aging and the lines/details are fuzzy. the tpb has sharp and clean lines but the colors are flat and dull. which are you reading?

#usually i compare the tpb or where its collected to each other and the original to see which has richer colors and follows closer to the #original issue BUT i do read the collected one if available because my eyesight is bad and the letters can be more clear #however i always look at the solo issues too to admire the original art/look for differences and because i like the letter columns #posting panels? usually i use a tpb because the quality is higher and again easier to see/read. but i always put the original issue down #instead of saying the collection its from because. im annoying and i like being specific instead of sending people to a 8+ comic tpb #ransom note

watched the first few episodes of solo leveling, decided to read the webtoon, and its kind of sad how the farther you get into it the more boring it becomes. At the start there's still at least some struggle, and i was tricked into thinking characters other then the protagonist would matter. But it quickly becomes identical to all those isekai power fantasy stories where the protagonist becomes an op demigod who can do anything, and all other characters exist only to revere him or to lose to him.

its also so relentlessly edgy, like i completely get why this is popular with teenage boys now. it is so much Ow The Edge male power fantasy that shadow the hedgehog would probably tell it to tone it down. i get it dude you're the cool shadow lord necromancer guy who wears all black and gets to be a one man army, but can you maybe have a friend? talk to another human being honestly for more then five seconds? you keep establishing potential romantic subtext between him and the blonde lady are we ever gonna do anything with that? maybe have them fight side by side? no? alright.

it just sucks because the thing i liked most about the opening story was that the cute girl and party leader actually survived. i was sure they'd both die for our mc's angst. i was really interested in seeing them interact with him once they all met again outside and maybe work together to unravel the mystery of the double dungeon. instead, they just vanish from the narrative. i get that its solo leveling but you can let the mc have friends at least.

#i actually like the anime more because it seems they understand they need to make this more of an ensemble to make it work #they spend more time on other characters like the opening ant island scene and introducing blond lady early #solo leveling

two years!! :D it’s been two years since my final curtain call and seven years since Jimlingss began! Seven years!!! Now that’s a crazy yet meaningful number!

Hello to everyone reading this message :D hopefully you remember me (it’s ok if you don’t) and for those who care, hopefully this is a treat! just a quick update on my life — I successfully completed my first year of law school and what a whirlwind it’s been.

I’ve had so many ups and downs in the past year and I honestly feel like I’ve changed a lot. like evolved from pichu to pikachu. It was my first time moving away from home, away from my parents, and making so many friends. it’s been 20% bitter and 80% sweet. overall, I feel like I’ve learnt so much about myself and became a lot more stable in who I am.

school is hard but completely manageable. luckily, I don’t think my choice was wrong. there are days I quite enjoy what I’m learning. I got 2 years left in the game. soon (hopefully) I’ll be making the big bucks $$$ and I’ll be able to fund my sugar baby dreams (except I’ll also be my own sugar mommy). Although my dating life is as stale as always with 0 movement, I’ve become close with a handful of folks that I hold dearly to my heart. guess I’m in my friendship arc hahahaha

funny enough, I actually came back to this blog out of my own volition 2 weeks ago and re-read some of my stories. I feel so nostalgic. some of my stories really slap ngl. anyway, I really miss creative writing so much. Fortunately, there’s a few extracurriculars at school that allow me to write creatively so it’s somewhat of an outlet for me. it’s not fully satisfying but it’s something!!

I regularly come back to tumblr to check messages and do plagiarism checks lol. Speaking of which, I’ll take this time to answer some messages in my inbox.

unfortunately, i don’t have any socials that anyone can follow me on. my socials are pretty private and only the people who i’m close to, I follow and vice versa. but no worries because I will always come back to this blog to do a yearly update so you’ll hear from me! its honestly really disappointing to me at least that Adam is just gonna end up as a Mammon reskin. Like, I dunno I saw his design and I had some interesting thoughts about the first Man, yknow? I found it interesting that they have him demon like features, suggesting that maybe underneath his holier-than-thou appearance and attitude, he really isn't that different from the sinners he kills. But he hides that part away, acting formal and polite and as much of a good little Christian boy under the eyes of God. When God isn't looking though? He would show his true colours instantly....

But no. They just made the angel say fuck.

#I have no qualms about him being an angel it's an interesting interpretation! (No offense to religions ofc)#butttt it does suck that he really is just a second mammon #From what we've seen #And like. I think mammon is a good villain because of how cartoonishly evil he is - the lack of depth adds to his character #And the fact that greed is commonly perceived as the one truly bad irredeemable sin #But that cartoony evilness only works for mammon.#not for a literal angel-- I'm not saying I want Adam to be a good guy I just want him to have more depth #than apparently just ''i hate demons and sinners and my wife who doesn't let me beat her fuck BOOM EPIC ROCK SOLO''#the show hasn't released yet which is why I added apparently #But I don't have high hopes... So since Ymber wouldn't be a deity there are some things he lacks physically - such as no pointed ears and no bright blue undertones to his hair. Just the basic blue. (does he dye it in a modern AU ? who knows) Also while he doesn't have a collar to symbolize his servitude to humans I still think he should have a choker.

I had some help a while back brainstorming how there would be some form of "superior" dynamic could still exist and I really liked the idea given that he's a famous architect. (he does design all constructs for his city as a deity so it checks out - he likes buildings) And Deacon just admires all the guy's works and never expects to run into him but of course they do! Gotta have a very awkward "oh it's you I'm going to melt into the earth" and "I have no idea who you are but we should hang out".

Sooo Deacon still just really admires Ymber and feels like they're on totally different levels and doesn't understand why Ymber would want to associate with him since he's just a "boring human".

#my characters #then deacon proceeds to ask a lot of questions about designing buildings and somehow they manage to be weird questions #you cannot take the weird questions away from him i wont allow it #this man has to accidentally make things even more awkward with ymber #also i was thinking about drawing them then was like mmmm maybe different ocs ?#and then spun my RNG wheel that is just colors and it landed on blue so whatever they're blue coded lets go #ymber the architect is just a fun idea and i love it let the man design things #and let deacon just appreciate all the work without having met the guy but accidentally meet him #there are only two problems with this kinda au and that is now that ymber ISNT a deity and DOESNT have a deity aura glow #how does deacon with facial blindness just know its him right away #and the other problem is aside from ymber just liking his neck in all universes ive decided - hes also injured when they meet in two #so its important to figure out how hed be injured in an au where he just is sort of reclusive and designs buildings #like how does mr ymber get injured here #there are things i need to figure out #also up for debate is ohime and ohiwe since they were originally just one person #i think i might use oh solo for the modern au instead of a duo since they wouldnt have the magic to be divided for misbehaving #i dont usually do the mermaid may stuff but i wanna do something for these two even if just as my sole contribution to the month
