Not being to regulate my emotions properly is so wild, like

Loss? Death? Inevitable.

Realizing that I will never be able to properly live as a fully function human because of my disabilities? Been there, realized that.

What would normally cause a large emotional spiral? Shut down.

The pants that I want to wear getting dirty shortly after I washed them? Absolutely devastating. Terrible. Horrible. I will never recover. I'm already tearing up.

#seriously though I JUST washed those #they're the only sweatpants I have that fit perfectly #and they're soft and fuzzy #all of my other sweatpants aren't fuzzy and the waist fits weird #I was not expecting to do fucking farm chores in my goddamned sweatpants #and I JUST FUCKING WASHED THEM #I finally got them back and now they're useless #like I can't just curl up under a big blanket to make the cold go away because my only big blanket #either got washed too much or not washed enough and that killed the fuzz #so now it's matted and itchy even after being washed #and I'm fucking cold after being dragged out into the snow for hours with no wake up period #but I don't have cozy pants #or a big warm blanket #so I just gotta shimmy underneath these two smaller blankets and hope the zzzs hit me again

I know it’s all just standards.

But Ringo’s Sentimental Journey is utterly charming.

We really should talk more about how he turns to this project as therapy as the band is falling apart. It’s pure nostalgia in a bottle but with Ringo jazz drumming and just having fun with it singing and adding these cute little improv bits. Blues Turning Grey Over You is a highlight for the “I just lost myself there, child!” laugh at the end.

It’s all utterly charming.

It’s a really cool collaboration too. He recruited different musicans arrange each piece (including Paul, who arranged Stardust, perhaps before the breakup drama heats up). George Martin produces and gets the big band together. They start recording more sporadically at first, starting Oct 1969. Night and Day, Stormy Weather (which got left off the final album but I love he tried it), Stardust, and Dream, all recorded before Christmas. The rest are Jan-Mar 1970.

It gets ripped to shreds by the rock cred sector. But Ringo using this as a grief project, sorta returning to childhood in the midst of a blow for comfort, feels more honest and healthy than he gets credit for. It’s also brassy af. This is the height of “fuck jazz,” and Ringo’s just like “so what? I’ll do what I like.”

George said he liked it. John slagged him off for it in interviews, but I bet he secretly liked it too. Not sure whether Paul ever commented on it given the dual release drama. He does his own standards album decades later, after it becomes a thing artists do. But when Ringo does it in 1970? No one was doing that.

Pic from the bread museum, how can you not love this place?

#it's just very warm #it's a really simple scene of two women and a child making bread in the fireplace #well they're actually doing other stuff while they wait for it #but the scene is so alive to me. it's so real #the intricate decoration of the room from the pictures to the little nicknacks #but also the big pile of woolen blankets and the bed in the kitchen by the fireplace #it reminds me SO MUCH of my grabdmas house like this is legit what an old style Greek house looks like #but the clothes are historically accurate so you can tell this takes place in the 1800s #but it's still meant to be homey and familiar because like people back then were people the same way we are now #that wait for bread to bake and shit together doing their activities...#i really love the bread museum

trying to FINALLY get into the habit of drawing a little bit each day, here's the result of the first couple days!

a little character sheet of sorts for Kelpie, i want to do one for each of the three main characters, so i started with the smol horse

-her build is a bit thicker than other ponyta, and her fur/mane and tail are also a bit fluffier, so she's able to handle the cold a bit easier, but can overheat easily in hotter climates

-did you know galarian ponyta are so tiny??? smol, minuscule. so she's small

-her bags are simple saddle bags that hang over her back and she carries with ease. her bed roll is folded up neatly into one of them while her money, food, and any other items are in the other. when she obtained a thicker blanket for the cold, it's simply rolled up and attached to the middle strap and sits on her back

-her horn/mane/tail glow faintly when she's using moves, whether they're psychic or fairy type moves, and they glow a pink/purple color
