OC TAG GAME 。*・♡;
tagged by @aragorngf to categorize my ocs and make them in this picrew by crowsen!!
♡ FAVORITE OC. (At the moment)
Tumblr media
Lukas Warren — Fallout: New Vegas
This was cruel to make me pick between all of my kids but I think Lukas at the moment is always kicking around my head — my sweet boy my poor little meow meow. I have so much in my head about his relationship with his family both the complicated horror story that is his family and his adopted ghoul mom Majorie and how much that really shaped his worldview <3
♡ NEWEST OC.
Tumblr media
Caroline Clarke — Various
Cara my beloved!! She’s my OC for a post-apocalyptic RP group I’m in and I love her sm <3 She’s a hunter from West Virginia who’s still trying to getting used to living in a (somewhat) civilized part of Boston after living in the literal Appalachian woods for a solid three years with her brother. I’m excited to write with her more !! She’s a sweet person but is still sort of closed off after so much has happened
♡ OLDEST OC.
Tumblr media
Aerie — The Elder Scrolls V: Skryim
Aerie is definitely one of my oldest ocs!! Skyrim was really one of the first rpgs I played and honestly I feel like she’s both gone through so many iterations but also stayed pretty consistent!! We love a wild girlie who the universe had to make her a short nord to balance out the whole dragon soul thing
♡ MEANEST OC.
Tumblr media
Ethan Warren — Fallout: New Vegas
Some people deal with their issues in all sorts of ways; Ethan decided to deal with it by razing his hometown to the ground <3 Having his father be burned instead of crucified like the Legion normally would to not give him the satisfaction of dying like jesus is understandable given what an awful person Richard Warren was, but joining the Legion and staying for years is a bad move maybe 🤔
♡ SOFTEST OC.
Tumblr media
Merethel Lavellan — Dragon Age: Inquisition
This was tough between Merethel and Ophelia but I think he’s someone who’s got a quiet compassion to him. The role of inquisitor does chafe on him a lot with him being more comfortable behind the scenes and being with people one on one as a healer. But I think people tend to underestimate how intelligent he is at first with his gentle nature, because he definitely learns how to play the “game” of politics in his own right by the time of Trespasser (even if he is very eager to get rid of the Inquisitor title).
♡ MOST ALOOF/STANDOFFISH OC.
Tumblr media
Endaryn Ravel — The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Even before he lost his place at the Arcane University in Cyrodiil after being booted to Morrowind because the Emperor Said So (rip 😔) , Endaryn is someone who just wants to be left alone to study!! And stuff KEEPS happening to him and he just wants to finish his thesis can he please stop getting weird dream messages from Dagoth Ur
♡ DUMBEST (AFFECTIONATE) OC.
Tumblr media
Leondas Vendicci — The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
It’s not that he’s dumb, he just lacks any and all self-preservation or self-respect! <3 Jk, but Leondas is definitely the guy who acts first and thinks about it later when he realizes the consequences. A fuck around and find out kind of guy, you might say. But yeah, definitely the type to run into Oblivion portals without much of a plan. But he’s MY favorite dumbass so it’s okay
♡ SMARTEST OC.
Tumblr media
Ophelia Faye — Fallout: 3
WOMEN! IN! STEM! Ophelia’s definitely the most intelligent; (I did actually give her a 10 in her Intelligence SPECIAL score). But I would say it’s pretty much all like science and medicine based intellect, and she’s the most comfortable in a lab or med bay than out in the Wasteland.
♡ OC YOU’D LIKE TO BE FRIENDS WITH IRL.
Tumblr media
Euurydia Daeron — Star Wars: The Old Republic
I have NO idea if Dia and I would actually hang out IRL but she’d be the most fun to hang out with. She’s the perfect extrovert to adopt an introvert like me and talk my ear off and convince me to try one drink and suddenly it’s 2 am and we’ve been cantina hopping in the Lower Promenade on Nar Shaddaa for hours

I love this! Can you write something after this maybe for the Devil nobles please? :3
Tumblr media
((Hello again but sure, I can write something else after this one. Glad to see you liked it. :3 But here ya go dear anon.))
((Oh and once more, The DBT and some others of the devils mentioned in this, along with the Devil Nobles au belong to @demon-blood-youths ))
Silver butterfly mun/peahen mom
"UGGHHHH I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!! I DON'T WANT TO GET MARRIED!!"
The DBT was in the other throne room on the west side while looking at their leader panic over the whole situation regarding getting married. Hellmare along with the other girls were trying to calm her down.
"There there, Ink. I'm sure it won't be bad.." Hellmare said but Ink was crying to pout.
"How are we even sure!? I thought he told us we had more time but now he's worried about it. Second, who are we even going to find as our suitors!? I can't go through doing this!" she said grabbing some of her black hair.
"Ink, calm down. I'm sure we will figure this out. Don't forget, this affects all of us and our friends. We don't know who we would see to marry but..I rather do that then getting someone picked for me." Shdwkyz sits on the couch to look ahead but he didn't understand this. Even his Devil Goa explained and she did sound serious. All of the devils did that their friends have been told the same.
"Even so..it's such a pain. Having to find a husband or wife to get engaged to. I mean, how in the world are we going to do that?" Rust said but the others thinks about it.
"I don't know. I guess we will have to see how it goes. I hear everyone else is going through what we are going through. Even if we are learning to take over the human world, they are learning just as much as we are." Ophelia pushes her glasses up but she sighed to see Oblivion still playing some games before looking at the table.
"Maybe we can figure some plan out before it comes to that." she said.
"Again, we are unsure. For now, we have to think of some idea. We don't know who we can and it could take longer." Navarro said annoyed about this that the others sigh. Jaron saw this but shook his head to think.
"Come on guys, we shouldn't be down about this. I'm sure things will be alright. They have to be. Our devils told us we have time but we just have to be careful and make it a true answer. I think I rather find someone I would without the whole situation going on. Maybe we just need time to think a bout it." He said.
"But for how long? You know Vanity means what he says. The devils say the same thing too." Fosh adds in with the other DBT thinking.
"I don't know why everyone is worried about it. Is being Married like being friends?" Gerald asked but Hellmare looks to him and Taz.
"Lets just say it's something the older ones go through when it comes to being married or engaged. You'll know when you find that special someone Gerald and you too Taz." she said to the two who understand in a way.
"I mean think about how the other demon youths know about this. I know they are freaking out just as we were." she said but Ink still hid her face in her pillow not wanting to. Marriage was not fun and it sounded like a lot of work.
"Also, who knows who we will end up with. It could be anyone here or from another area of the demon world. We will never know till we see.." she said to everyone. The DBT knew their allies were worried about this too. Heck, Ink even knew the other leaders were unsure about it. She wonders how they feel. Even her bound demon sister Jinx could be unsure about this. It was a lot to take in.
"Well, I guess we can because I don't want another to be picked for me. We might not like who we are given if it's someone we don't know." Fosh said worried.
"True Fosh but again, we don't know who we would marry if it came to that. First we have to get engaged..don't we?" Oblivion said but before Ink could add their was something suddenly sent to her room. The DBT blinks to look seeing two guards walking in with a med sized box.
"Huh?"
They watch the guards lower it on the table before bowing towards Ink and them, then leaves.
"Uhhh what is that?" Jaron asked.
"I don't know.." Ink mutters as Fosh and Rust go to the box and sees a letter. It was addressed to them from her father. Ink picks it up and opens the letter to read it. The letter says this,
Dear Ink,
I'm writing this because I know your stubborn or your a bit angry with me but understand. This is for our house. You need to find your suitor like your friends one day and soon. I don't want to be forced to find one for you because the other devils are giving you all time to find someone. Because if not, that will lead to arranged marriages and trust me their not fun.
Anyway, me with some of your friends devils are giving you something to help with that. The boxes are in the bit one but you'll have yours with your name. Just try to make this work at least.
And stop being a baby. You'll be fine. And marriage is not scary! It's just like you finding your mate. Anyway, just do your best Ink.
Vanity
P.S: The box has your engagement rings for you and your chosen mate. Be sure you do your best or find who will be close. Just remember you might have multiple mates so be careful.
EH!?!
"....." She reads the letter but saw the two open the box seeing mini ones inside. Every one of them was decorated by their own devil's house theme with their own. That's when Ink takes hers to open but her eyes widen.
"Inside was a ring; an engagement ring!? The others were shocked seeing they had the same thing. However, they were magic rings.
"Why do we have rings?" Oblivion asked confused.
"Uhhh I think these are engagement rings." Rust sweatdrops before each one had a letter addressed to them from their devils. The letter only said:
'Good luck finding your mates in the future. You have some time but don't waste it.'
"They were serious..." The DBT said at the same time.
"......" Yeah, seems the devils were serious. With that, seems the story among finding a mate has started but Ink had a T^T expression as she was pouting. Why her team? Why her?!? This was the worst. Or was it?

Explore a new relationship with Lucca, your mistress's estranged childe, or feed the unbridled passion for bloodlust of the Banu Haqim Anarch, Sevinc. Clan Malkavian: A Hallucinatory Accomplice
It has been said that a Malkavian is never truly alone—their visions and prophesy are a constant companion—but in your case, the concept of solitude has lost all meaning. An accomplice stalks your footsteps, often out of sight but never far away. It clouds your mind with fractured perception and insight, but not always in equal parts. - As a vampire of clan Malkavian, an eternal companion accompanies you. None but you can see it or hear its words of wisdom and delusion. - The unseen companion is yours to interpret as you see fit—name, gender, appearance, and demeanor. - Others too are afflicted by Malkav's gifts. Your sire Eden Corliss and her childe Lucca are each changed in unique ways, with new twists waiting to be discovered. Clan Lasombra: A Keeper of Shadows
Clan Lasombra has ruled from the shadows for centuries, leaders among the savage packs of Sabbat vampires at constant odds with the Camarilla and their Masquerade. Until recent nights, that is. The Lasombra have chosen to meet the constant threat of the Second Inquisition by joining with the Camarilla, but old grudges are not easily forgiven. - Control the otherworldly forces of Oblivion as a vampire of clan Lasombra. - Hide in plain sight or emerge from the shadows. - Many in the Council believe that you and your sire belong to clan Ventrue. A necessary deception. But now that the Lasombra are integrating with the Camarilla, is it time to reveal your true nature at last?

So. @purlturtle tagged me in a thing and now we all get to suffer for it. ;3
RULES: post the names of the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, and then post a little snippet or tell them something about it! Tag as many people as you have WIPs.
Okay, to start with: I do not have a WIP folder. My Google Docs is a conglomerate of utter disorganization that somehow manages to still function as a repository of writing. Sort of.
Many of these are just snippets that are more or less a ghost of an idea, or that probably deserve their rest in the quiet soil of the cemetery of fleeting ideas. Others are determined to haunt me until I give them some sort of manifestation, or finish shaping their forms. Who knows, maybe y'all will turn one into the other?
To make all of this a little easier on everyone, I am going to organize this by ship and/or fandom. Buckle the fuck up.

I tried to denote different docs that belong to the same general work/universe via asterisks, at first, but at some point its accuracy is questionable. :P
(Okay, there's more, but I have to come to some kind of stopping point. I think once I come to documents I haven't actually opened in like four and a half years, where I have to check what the title actually means and whether or not I've published them… I think I can safely call those "in hibernation" and not really "WIP"s at that point… :P)
No pressure, but I'd love to know about @tinknevertalks and @ladyelysandra, and anyone else who wants to do this!

Jinx comes out of no where tackling Ink again while hugging her. The other teammates sweatdrops wearing their winter coats and things holding presents.
"DAMN IT JINX, STOP TACKLING PEOPLE!!!!" Echo said angry while carrying some gifts like the other girls.
"Oh dear.." Melinda was using her Telekinesis to hold some of the presents she got the DBT like the others.
"Hi INK!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!! We got gifts for you guys!" Jinx was happily hugging Ink but lets go to smile. "We got the other fractions gifts they wanted to give you guys too! They are sorry for not being here but they will be here for the Christmas party!"
``````````````````````
((Their is a gift from me to Dani mun as well. Merry Christmas eve dear. Hope your holidays are merry and bright.))
Silver butterfly mun/Peahen mom
Tumblr media
"Hahahaha!" Ink laughs while her fraction members greets Jinx's fraction. Hellmare and Fosh takes their winter jackets so they can be put into the closet as he greets Breezy, asking how she's doing. "You're early. Jaron, Maggie and Ophelia are cooking food for us. We got everything ready. A handful of the fractions came in and are helping with the cooking too as they brought their own dishes and presents too."
Navarro sighs, "Just give up, Echo. Ink likes being tackled like that!" He says. "Anyway....come in before you all freeze. The weather today is freaking cold as shit!"
"Plus we got you presents!" Said Gerald, grinning. Taz nods. "Also we got some hot chocolates on the table." She said.
"We got games," Oblivion said. The teens were enjoying their time with the Cursed Vixens while Navarro takes Echo to which Rust grins. "Oh shoot! Mistole!" Rust grins making Navarro's cheeks flush red.
"YOU PUT THAT THERE, RUST!" Navarro yelled making Shdwkyz and Rust snicker. Navarro sighs as he pats Echo's shoulder. "Want me to kiss you on the forehead to get this over with."
While the rest are just playing games, drinking, and talking with each other. Soon, dinner has arrived with Jaron who kisses Melinda on the cheek. "Sorry for not greeting you at the door. Just busy with the cooking." He tells her as other fractions were helping around the soon, the food brought by the fractions and the food made by the DBT and a few others. There are three turkeys, and chickens. two mac n cheese, hams, casseroles, lasagna, mashed potatoes, spiced wine, and many more.
The party was merry and memorable. Everyone is happy.
"Merry Christmas, Jinx!" Ink smiled. "Merry Christmas to everyone!" Ink grins.
So. The new Parliament of Knives DLC came out today. I've only played through once so far so any speculation I have might be way off.
I went Malkavian. And oh boy was it fascinating. You learn way more thanks to the insights you get from your ghostly companion. There was one line in particular that hit me really hard that has me side-eying Arundel (like I love the guy, but hes so shady, and this made me side eye him even more) that I dont want to spoil cause it's so good.
Also I romanced Lucca and fuck, it was hot. Tbh I think it might be my favourite. She has a picture now and theres a whole new subplot for her which involved the Lasombra. I didnt get to learn Oblivion though. Maybe next time.
Ophelia also played a pretty big role for me. I'm not sure if it was because I was Malkavian or because I sought her out as often as I could. I didnt really learn much about her, but she helped me learn more about me. I kinda want to play through again as a different clan to see how it would work out with her, as being Malkavian had such a huge impact on our interactions.
And those are just the thoughts off the top of my head right now. I'll probably have more once I take the time to process it.
Bound by Circumstance ― Chapter 21: Come Hell and High Water
PAIRING: Nik Ryder x trans*M!MC (Taylor Hunter) RATING: Mature
⥼ MASTERLIST ⥽
⥼ Bound by Circumstance ⥽
Taylor Hunter (MC) has made it good for himself in New Orleans; turns out moving to a new city fresh out of college to reinvent yourself isn’t as hard as people make it out to be. Things only start to get confusing when he finds himself the target of a malevolent wraith. Good thing someone’s looking out for him though — because without Nighthunter Nik Ryder as his bodyguard he definitely won’t survive long in the twisting darkness of the supernatural underworld he’s tripped into.
Bound by Circumstance and the rest of the Oblivion Bound series is an ongoing dramatic retelling project of the book Nightbound and the rest of the Bloodbound series. Find out more [HERE].
Note: Circumstance only loosely follows the events and plotline of Nightbound, and features a separate antagonist, different character motivations, and further worldbuilding.
*Let me know if you would like to be added to the Circumstance/series tag list!
⥼ Chapter Summary ⥽
Please, please let this work.
[READ IT ON AO3]
Tumblr media
“Even with what you now know you would bring them here — together.”
Catching the Elders by surprise wasn’t a part of the plan for good reason; thinking they could get one over on the people who have been planning this for who-knows-how-long would just be arrogant.
Doesn’t make the sharp cunning of Elder Daniels’ glare any less intimidating.
“Do you think it too much to hope they understand why this is necessary? What part they played in the inevitability of this?”
Elder Vion remains silent; his opaque gaze observing both everything and nothing — but where does it focus?
“You remain as blind to the present as ever, Millet.” chides Daniels.
Elder Millet’s shoulders slump. The only one to show any kind of remorse — genuine or otherwise. “A little optimism never hurt anyone…”
Elder Daniels doesn’t deem her worth a response. Focuses instead on looking out over the garden party with a forced disinterest; the mask of her neutrality firmly in place.
But Taylor can see through the gaps and cracks now. To the edges that curl around her real emotions. Contempt, disgust; as though the choice to gather despite knowing the Coven’s plans is a personal attack on her careful cultivation of the future.
He’s the first to address them properly. Down the steps to the decorative gravel the Lamrian decorators sprinkled with crushed gemstone.
“Thank you for coming, Coven Elders.” He’d step closer if Nik’s steady hand doesn’t stop on his shoulder — hold him at a distance. But they can’t seem hesitant if this is going to work. “It wouldn’t be a Council party without everyone on the Council attending.”
He still has no idea if this is going to work. Please, please let this work.
Elder Millet shuffles her tarot deck like a nervous habit. Daniels steeples her claw-like fingertips together in front of her and, like an unspoken signal, Vion’s grip on his staff grows pale-knuckled tight.
Power pushes out from them in an invisible wave. Just once; but once is all it takes. He feels it, Nik feels it — everyone feels how the pressure changes in the air; how something old like the mantle of the earth tastes at the backs of their throats.
Let the countdown begin.
“Explain this little… gathering,” demands Daniels with a sneer.
Only it’s Tonya who answers. She stands on shivering legs with Vera’s help but to call her feeble would be to call the wraith itself a minor inconvenience.
She may no longer have the Touch but Lady Smoke is far from powerless in their presence.
“You’re the one who ought to be explainin’ themselves, Ophelia Daniels.”
The women stare one another down. It’s obvious every second spent standing is agony but hell if Tonya Reimonenq is going to lose even in her current state.
Vion steps forward and stays his companion’s hand. That familiar tingle of empathy down his spine makes Taylor shudder; makes him see Cassiopeia’s blood stained up to leathery elbows — falling to the ground in a drip. drip. drip.
“If the Council has an accusation, let it be heard.”
Isadora hisses from across the garden, “The gall of you, traitors and murderers…”
“Such stinging words to your claims!”
“One of many!”
“Have you witness or evidence?”
“Aw hell,” the lumbering figure of Kristof breaks the growing threads of tension by stepping forward — strangely the calmest he’s been insofar, “cut the crap, will ya? We know you’re the ones tuggin’ that hellspawn’s leash.”
It’s instinct, he doesn’t mean to. Looking away from their very dangerous guests of honor Taylor catches Cadence’s eye for only a moment before snapping back forward. They can’t risk anything longer catching the Elders’ attentions.
“Do you now?” asks Daniels coolly, “I regret to inform you that knowledge will not give your sacrifices any amount of dignity.”
“There is more at risk within this city’s borders than the dignity of the few, Ophelia.”
It must be magic; how Elric speaks clearly and is undeniably heard despite the fireworks that crackle overhead; without even raising his voice.
The sharp curve of Daniels’ smirk is a malicious one. “I will not suffer a cowering outcast to speak to me of dignity. You still breathe only because your hidden city’s wards have protected you.”
“I am not cowering now, am I?”
“The night is young.”
Anger hangs thick and stifling on the edge of every word and Taylor — god — he can feel it all.
The Coven’s unwavering conviction, Isadora’s desire for revenge, Kristof’s refusal to die anywhere but on his hind paws. The strangely smug way Lady Smoke feels like she should have seen all of this coming and the fierce protectiveness Elric projects at him without shame.
But hidden in the woven tapestry of them all is a single thread, sour and ill at ease but no less recognizable. He’s no longer a stranger to what fear feels like.
“If you would, then — indulge us the most obvious of questions;” even with the distance between them Elric, towering at least a foot taller than Daniels and her power-stilettos, looks down his nose at her, “why?”
“You’ll have to be a tad more specific.”
“Are you fuckin’ kiddin’ me?!” Kristof rages. “They’re playin’ us fer fools!” Yet his monstrous howl of rage is silenced by the elf lord’s pale hand raised; staying him.
“That may be, Jensen, but surely I am not the only one here who wishes to understand. Who wonders why the formerly reasonable Coven would change so abruptly. And why they would decide to act now—of all times—and with such vicious intent.”
“It’s not the Coven that’s changed.”
At first Elder Millet’s voice is lost, timid, on the wind. Like a spectre from the beyond there to bolster a claim. But no one misses when she stops shuffling her deck, flips over the top card to reveal a gruesome and bloodied tyrant.
The Emperor reversed.
“There have been signs more than what we witches witness. Signs in the earth and skies, in the lifeblood that runs through our city. But you — your Council — have been complacent; content to ignore them. Focused instead on your own gains and greed. We considered every option, please believe it.
“But this was the only way our city might stand a chance of surviving the coming darkness. A unified voice, when divided, would only serve to hasten our downfall.”
“If you had approached the Council — shown us the signs we so easily missed —”
“When did it become the duty of the Coven to play prophet to the willingly ignorant?!” Daniels interrupts loud and unashamed. “To the immortal and oh-so-wise faire folk, or the creatures of dark magic who should have felt the gathering storm in their bestial bones! Or to you, Lady Smoke, with ears in every room on every block.
“Admit your guilt — not that it will save you. Admit your hunger for power and wealth led you into the blind fog that the Council should have been beyond the reaches of. For the downfall of New Orleans would have been your burden to bear.”
“Had you not stepped forward and assumed some sort of divine control, you mean?” demands Isadora.
“Make no mistake — we chose this course of our own free will. Because we were the only ones left untainted; loyal to this our sanctuary city.”
Elric steps forward, not without caution. “There has been enough death, Ophelia. Stop, now, at the threshold of a fall you will not survive.”
“Every death has been and will be a necessary one.”
Something about the victory in her claim riles Taylor from the inside out. Makes the words throw themselves out of him unbidden—
“Even yours.”
It’s probably the closest Daniels has ever come — and will ever be again — to a look of surprise. A dozen thoughts half-formed on mute lips before she schools her expression complacent.
“An unseen complication indeed.”
But that doesn’t make Taylor recoil as it once did. In fact he’s kind of proud of it. “How about instead of demanding everyone else admit some imagined guilt because of your desire for power, you three do the admitting? Admit you know this isn’t the so-called only way and try to muster up a little bit of humanity— Try and feel even the tiniest bit of remorse for what you’ve done because deep down you know it was wrong.”
Nik tenses behind him. He can feel it where they’re connected; his guttural hissing thought of think about the plan, Rook.
And maybe it wasn’t how they originally hoped to get the final piece of the puzzle but maybe—just maybe—it might go in their favor.
For the first time the Coven Elders part; Daniels breaks away in even, purposeful strides to close the distance between them.
Taylor feels the way Nik tenses, readies himself for the inevitable attack.
But it doesn’t come. Not physically, anyway. Only the look the witch gives him that may very well will him out of existence.
“Your blind stumbling has gotten you far little halfling. But you’ve come far enough, I think.”
“You wanna know what I think?”
“Not particularly.”
“I think that’s not really your call. The same way I think deep down you know you’re just as greedy as you say everyone else is. You’re just pretending to think about the greater good.”
Then there’s a movement; so fast it’s a blur. A stinging pain on his cheek and a sensation akin to tears rolling down his face.
Everything that follows still comes as a surprise despite having been building in the tension on both sides. The night air harsh on his open wound and a crisp ache in his shoulder as he’s yanked backwards and behind Ryder; a leather-clad shield.
Movement in his periphery and Nik goes flying backwards. Hurled by a tornado of unseen power.
“Nik!”
“This ends tonight!” Daniels raises her outstretched arms high to the heavens. Draws clouds from nowhere and everywhere to blot out the moon and the stars. The darkness within consuming the world outside her soul.
“You’re damn right it does—!”
Katherine pulls out Nik’s crossbow from underneath a nearby folding chair; wields it weightlessly as she aims at the witch and pulls the trigger.
Daniels deflects it with little effort. Sends the bolt flying towards the outer brick wall.
Behind their companion the other Elders whisper curses into the very wind. Once-solid ground ripples like water and their influence takes hold.
The trees around them bend and twist; their natural states resisting the witches’ call with an eldritch orchestra of groans before they yield. Roots torn up and fallen leaves and broken branches coming together; an army.
“Ah hell, not again!” shouts Cal; voice distorted with the wolf already pushing against his skin.
There’s hands at his arms — Taylor looks up to see Cadence struggling to drag him backwards towards… what? Towards safety? There’s no such thing anymore.
Still he scrambles up and back. Ducks just as the windows at the back of the House shatter under Elder Millet’s will. Just as she sends the broken shards hurtling in a transparent flock coming directly for him.
Above him comes a barely-restrained cry of pain; Taylor looks up to see two pieces lodged deep in the vampire’s shoulder.
“Cade!”
“I’m fine!” Like he’s trying to prove a point he shoves Taylor backwards, stumbling; “Go check on Ryder! Keep to the plan!”
Wet tearing noises fill the clearing as Kristof the wolf pries free of his skin — Octavia right at his heels. Together they howl at the cloaked moon and take off on all fours towards Elder Vion.
But with a limber motion his withered body shouldn’t be capable of the witch fights back. Whips his staff out; sending roots from the nearest tree to his aid. They lash, sentient, at the wolves’ hind paws — one hits home and ropes around Octavia’s flank, squeezes and sends the Beta crashing snout-first into the gravel.
The Beau-Keyes Garden is in chaos but Cade is right. They should have expected this. He needs to find Nik.
Taylor takes off in a mad dash towards the hedges where the Nighthunter had been thrown. Catches the tail-end of Vera and Ivy pulling Tonya out of the fray and into the House.
A cluster of something dark scurries on the whipping wind towards them, right at Ivy’s back. “Ivy, watch it!” Voice catching in his lungs — but its enough.
Enough for Ivy to turn around with bright burning eyes at the incoming horde. Her peeled-back lips move in silent words and her hair lifts around her in a neon-tipped halo. The incoming swarm — Millet’s tarot deck — stop mid-flight; repelled by whatever curse the revenant has conjured.
The cards shudder, then begin to crumple and squeeze themselves into balls. One last flick of Ivy’s lace-laden wrists and they spontaneously burst into a dozen individual flames, hot-pink heat licking at the air and casting her ghoulish grin of glee in flickering light that burns bright before they are consumed — nothing but ash scattered at her platform-raised feet.
A hand closes tight around his wrist and pulls him back. Catches him in half a scream when he turns and sees the stern pull of Elric’s brow.
“What are you thinking; standing here exposed?! Get to cover!”
“Not without—incoming —” he pulls them both to the ground just in time for a large branch to soar overhead and crack against the trunk of another tree, “— Nik! I have a plan, remember?”
“If your life is the cost —”
“It’s not!”
“Then please, find safety!”
“I’m not leaving them behind!” He meets Elric’s eyes in a long look — ignores the cacophony around them and clasps their hands together. Can’t tell which of their palms is slick with sweat; maybe both. “I need you to trust me, Dad. I can do this.”
And they’re no longer in the midst of the fight but back in time; back to a mere hour ago when he asked Elric to trust him once; now again. “I can do this.”
The fae inhales; nods and rasps, “What do you need from me?”
Thank you. “Get the Elders on the defensive. They need to summon the bloodwraith.”
“What?!
“You said you’d trust me!”
It’s a struggle, but Elric swallows down his protests and nods. “Very well. Find your Nighthunter; do whatever you need to prepare. Leave the rest to me.”
One last squeeze and they part. Taylor’s already halfway across the garden when he hears Elric shout strong and clear; “Garrus! Lend me your hand!” And it’s such a shock that he almost trips; almost.
Mustering up the last of his energy Taylor vaults over the farthest hedge; goes crashing into the lawn on the other side to find Nik lying limp and still.
No—no no nono…
He moves through the pain. Blinks through the tears piercing pain at his wounded cheek and pulls the hunter to lie on his back where he can check for injury—for a pulse—for anything.
“Nik wake up,” and fighting through the violent shaking in his hands is hard—near impossible—but he manages two fingers to the man’s pulse, “Nik—please please wake up. We can still do this — but there’s no way in hell I’m doing it without you.”
But he can’t tell what’s a possible sign of life and what’s his own blood pounding through every vessel in his body like his blood wants freedom. He tucks a hand under dark hair and can’t help the strangled noise he makes when he feels slick wetness matted at the crown of his head.
“Oh no—no no no…” Fuck now he’s scared to turn the man over; to make it worse. “This isn’t happening, this isn’t happening…”
And he’s not being entirely truthful — not even with himself. The plan surely could work without Nik at his side but why would he want it like that? He doesn’t — he can’t even imagine it.
Taylor looks up and around. Wildly searches for someone who can help — someone who knows more, someone who can do something. But they’re all too far.
He isn’t sure he’d be able to call out to them even if they were.
It’s an actual effort to manage Nik’s limp head into his lap. What the fuck is he supposed to do? Slap his cheek, shake his shoulders like in the movies? Only those aren’t real head wounds on film — just actors with fake blood squirting in packs like ketchup and prosthetic makeup making them look battered and bruised.
Nik is battered and bruised. There’s nothing fake about it. This isn’t a movie; they aren’t on a set and his tears aren’t eye drops. They’re real. Everything about this is real.
“Oh fuck—fuckfuckfuck…”
When he pulls his hand back to the sight of red smeared on his fingers, he almost comes undone. Stays sane only because one fleeting thought, more of a background notion really, rattles in an echo around his skull in a voice that isn’t his own.
Those who seek to change destiny never understand how to bring it closer.
His rational mind is right: this isn’t a movie. Everything that’s happened has been real—from the smallest arguments to the biggest tragedies.
Nik is real. Cal is real—werewolves are real. Vampires, shapeshifters, revenants and spirits and even witches are real. Fae are real. Fae halflings — yup, real too.
And if there were times where Donny wasn’t saved, or the Council did fall to the Elders and their plan, or Taylor died in the cemetery that night, then didn’t that mean there were times that Nik didn’t survive this encounter, too?
But Donny was saved. The Council won’t fall to the Elders and Taylor didn’t die that night.
He refuses to let this be the one thing that can’t be changed.
“Breathe, Rookie, breathe…” Taylor whispers, forces his voice to keep calm and his hands that cradle Nik’s skull to go still. Because he knows how to change destiny this time; he’s done it before.
He doesn’t need to feel a pulse under the man’s skin because when he closes his eyes; reaches down inside his chest he can feel something there. Dim and flickering but so very present. A flame that wants to grow; it just needs to be fed first.
If there’s an incantation he doesn’t know it. But he knows how badly he wants Nik to heal; how bright he wants to feel the man’s soul inside.
There has to be a reason he is the way he is. Why can’t it be to save Nik Ryder?
There’s a flash against his closed eyelids; bright like someone turned on the sun in the middle of midnight. A switch flicking a lamp to life; or logs thrown on a campfire to keep him warm.
And when he opens them he has to squint through the burn of brightness but that’s not a bad thing. Not where that light filters through Nik’s hair askew and tingles at Taylor’s palms. Warms them in rays of daylight soft and flecked with dust motes, wipes them clean of dirt, clean of tears; clean of blood like it was never there to begin with.
Looking down at Nik’s slackened face; searching every scarred inch for some sign of life he knows is there; treading water just below the surface.
His heart skips a beat. Nik’s eyes flutter open; awake and alive. And the sight of color and life on his face is so fucking beautiful that it makes him start to cry all over again.
Around them fades to dim night but Nik still looks up at him with a strange wonderment. Reaches up and drags the calloused pad of his thumb across Taylor’s cheek to catch his tears before they fall.
“C’mon now,” comes that familiar throaty whisper; he doesn’t have to see the smirk to know it’s there like a kiss at the edge of the man’s lips, “sure as hell you ain’t sheddin’ those tears for me, Rook, are ya?”
“‘Course not.” Taylor teases back — bends himself practically in half as he leans down to take that offered kiss because he can.
Because Nik is alive.
They part — Nik holds himself up on a wobbly arm and reaches, feels around his head where even the ghost of his injury is a fading dream. And when his fingers pull back clean and without blood Taylor’s heart stutters back to life.
“Should I ask?”
But he doesn’t even know how to start explaining what happened — doesn’t quite understand it himself except for the fact it was instinct like he’s never known. “Maybe when this is over.”
“I’ll hold you to it.”
Make sure you do, he wants to say; instead touches the curve of Nik’s jaw because he’s there and he can.
Reality crashes back around them; suffocates what’s left of their bewilderment in the large form of a wolf.
It comes crashing through the hedges just shy of them. Taylor peers over the protective form of Nik’s shoulder just in time to see the shine of the werewolf’s yellow eyes before they roll backwards and Octavia slumps down; limp and unconscious.
“Why the hell ain’t they summoned the fuckin’ wraith yet?”growls Nik. He uses what’s left of their cover to survey the fight; locks his sights on Elder Daniels as she pulls at invisible strings and sends a fallen branch forth to sink home in Isadora’s belly.
The vampire hisses and collapses, catches herself just shy of impalement and desperately claws for her freedom.
“They’re trying to take out the Council on their own —” Taylor cuts himself off as he searches the fray in panic for any sign of Elric.
“That ain’t a part of the plan, Rook.”
“You think I don’t know that?”
“Then what the hell’re we supposed to—holy hellfire!”
But it isn’t hellfire — not quite. Burns just as hot but Taylor’s pretty certain hellfire isn’t made of pitch black flame that shimmers iridescent as it races in tendrils towards the Elders; presses them against one another back to back in prowling circles that scorch the earth at their feet.
The mere sight of it captivates the entire Garden. Causes the witches to hold their combined magics out to defend their ranks against the fiery lashes.
Elric commands the stream of fae grimfire like a natural extension of himself. Raises his hand to send another wave in that raise the walls and keep the Elders pinned together.
“Accept your defeat, Elders of the Garden Coven, lest justice be swift and without mercy!”
But he isn’t alone. With sleeves rolled up to the elbow Garrus coaxes the grimfire at the witches’ heels. Sweeping movements of his arms drag the vestiges of it away from the rest of the Garden and tighter against their commanded foes.
This is it. This is their final chance.
“Where’s Vee?! It’s time!”
“Go —” Nik pushes him up and forward; makes Taylor stumble over a pulled-up root now rendered lifeless; the Elders’ magic contained in spectral fire, “— if they’re cornered, they’re desperate. They’ll call him forward soon.”
But Taylor can’t even comprehend the thought of leaving Nik’s side. Of not being there — not keeping him safe. “No way.”
“Now ain’t the time to argue!”
“There’s no way I’m leaving you again!”
“Rook.” And its just one word—one stupid little nickname he doesn’t even like—but he pushes so much meaning into it that Taylor’s feet move with a will of their own. Carry him out from safety’s cover with Nik hot on his heels until he veers into the Beau-Keyes House gone dark.
It takes literally everything in his churning gut not to follow.
Instead he breathes, stomps down the unease building inside — threatening to crest and consume him — and joins Elric in front of the Elders.
Every attempt the witches make against their ethereal prison is consumed and rendered powerless. If he didn’t know better — if he wasn’t hoping for this to be what forces their hand — Taylor might almost believe they’ve won.
“Enough fighting, Daniels. Please.”
The woman turns her head in a lash. Nothing but unbridled rage in empty eyes.
“Your persistence is no longer amusing, little pest.”
He knows his pleas are falling on deaf ears but… but doesn’t he owe it to everything they’ve lost to try?
“Look— you said part of the reason you decided to act was because the Council was so divided. But—but here everyone is! You brought them together. Can’t that be enough?”
It’s a useless question. He knows it, Elder Daniels knows it too. He can see it in her eyes.
“We are beyond the point of peace.”
“We don’t have to be.”
“Your ignorance will be your undoing.” She turns her back on him; on everyone. Joins Millet and Vion in clasped hands and bowed heads as though the grimfire is nothing more than an illusion.
This is what they wanted— what they’ve been waiting for ever since the Elders appeared tonight. But hearing the familiar incantation harmonized between them is no less haunting.
“Claw and blood, claw and bone. Bloodied flesh, endless stone…”
“They are summoning the abomination!” Isadora shouts. Her voice cracks as she gives one last violent pull; wrenches the branch free from her body and hurls it aside. “Stop them, burn them!”
But the plan isn’t to stop them. Still, Taylor understands. Feels it, too. The sickening wrongness in his gut only made worse by the familiar smell of foul and rot that seeps in like a putrid fog.
The effort it takes to hold the grimfire steady shows on Elric’s pallid face. “Are you sure about this?” he asks through gritted teeth. And he’s really not—can’t be sure of anything anymore—but that isn’t the answer he gives.
“Yes. Let them do it.”
“Soar with the zephyr, shriek with the crow. Life renewed we now bestow.”
Elric looks ahead to where the strain of their casting has Garrus ready to collapse. He gives the man a silent nod, and almost in relief and a perfect mirror they pull clenched fists apart to end the conjuring.
The grimfire eats itself from the bottom up. Dissipates at the edges of itself until the multicolored flames are only a remnant burned on the insides of Taylor’s eyelids. Beside him Elric begins to sag sideways as the exhaustion takes hold; he throws the man’s arm around his shoulder to keep him standing steady. He watches in relief as Krom refuses to let his fae collapse; catches him in strong stone arms and with unheard praises.
But the Elders continue their wicked chant; they either don’t notice or don’t care with victory within their reach.
“Arise hellbound soul! We beseech and command Fell our enemies with your cursed hand!”
Around them the wind begins to gather — pushes aside the cloud cover overhead and bathes the Garden in moonlight. Just like the last time they stood here gathered. Just like that night in the cemetery.
“Ryder!” Katherine calls; tosses the crossbow the short distance as he approaches with Vera on his heels. “We sure this is gonna work?”
Nik looks up at the sky with a grim resignation. “I think it’s a bit too late for doubts.”
As one the Coven Elders turn to face their accusers. The wind lashes Millet’s hair in tendrils and billows Vion’s robes; blows Daniels’ collar this way and that yet they remain rooted to the earth.
They stand with their convictions until the very end.
“Perhaps in number you can overpower us,” Daniels sneers, “but whatever scraps of this little front survive the wraith’s touch will be easy pickings.”
Over their heads a shadow passes over the moon. The telltale whip of burial wrappings hisses in their ears — followed by the unholy shriek they know all too well.
Daniels’ hands raise to the sky as the bloodwraith approaches.
“Come wretched creature; come accursed traitor! Pay your oath in the blood and bone of our enemies! Know no rest until our great work is done!”
The bloodwraith descends slow; places itself between the Elders and the rest as a shield grotesque. This time is no different than before — the very sight of it makes the hairs on the back of Taylor’s neck stand and scream to run, flee, there is no salvation here.
He used to think nothing could equal the void and despair where Death itself burns black in its eyes. But now that he sees them in the same space, he sees the same lifeless purpose like a stain over Daniels’ face.
But knowing what he knows now has Taylor looking at the wraith in a different way. Still with the same revulsion natural of the living to the violent dead — but he tries to imagine the face that once framed that skull as the same one from the photograph in Cadence’s office.
Familial features shared by both Tonya and Vera now twisted, warped by bloodlust and the unnatural.
And even worse — finds himself searching for some hint of the first victim to all of this madness. How could something so evil come from a soul like Cassiopeia? He didn’t even know the girl and yet those brief moments sharing a piece of her soul — her last moments — gave him a grief he felt tasked with bearing the burden of.
Behind him there’s a rustling; a bundle wrapped in cloth passing from Cade to Vera’s bare hands.
“What are you doing?”
Vion’s croaking voice breaks through the tense silence. Matching looks of wary apprehension barely restrained as they pass between each of the Elders.
Their confusion is understandable. Nothing has stopped the bloodwraith in its grisly pursuit before.
But this time is different. Whatever mangled bits are left of Derek Reimonenq’s soul feel it. Taylor feels it; behind him his companions feel it too. The Elders are just the last to notice.
“What are you waiting for?” but Elder Millet’s voice isn’t as strong as the others — her concern betrays her; “You are tasked by your summoners. Go forth!”
Hackles rise when the creature inches forward only just. But Taylor stands his ground.
“That’s not right though, is it?”
“Silence halfling!”
No, no more silence. “It wasn’t you that summoned it. Not the first time. That was Cassiopeia—you remember her?” — there’s no denying the recognition, the last bit of life that flickers and dies behind the Elders’ eye s— “The witch who you were supposed to protect and care for, who was so scared of what she could do… but cared more about thanking you for taking her in when no one else would.
“She was willing to do anything, even the thing that scared her the most. And you took advantage of that.”
“How dare you speak of such things—” says Millet. Elder Millet who she trusted, who she looked up to; who led her like a lamb to the slaughter.
“Who else is gonna speak for her? Certainly not you!”
“The girl’s sacrifice was a noble one, you will not diminish that!”
“She didn’t even know there was a sacrifice to make. Admit it,” and it’s awkward, ducking his head around the bloodwraith that hovers between them like a horrible marionette waiting for the puppet show to begin, but he has to look her murderers in the eyes because Cassiopeia never got the chance.
“You knew what you were doing was wrong. That’s why you dragged her out of her bed in the middle of the night, placated her like she was doing something good. Because it was the only way to get her to agree.”
The tiniest shame bubbles up from Millet’s direction. Makes it all the more important that he stares over that skeletal shoulder right into her eyes.
“She may not have known the extent of what we needed of her… but she did do good for the future of the Coven; for the future of this city.”
“She didn’t know because you didn’t tell her.”
A scoff drags his attention away to where Elder Daniels has rounded on her companion — a fist clenched in the barest show of restraint. “Do not lose your conviction now. At the accusations of this—this ignorant child!”
She rounds back on Taylor every inch a wraith in her own right—reaffirms what invisible tether ties Reimonenq the wraith and the Coven together with palms raised to the sky; “Enough of this! Kill the halfling first! I command you!”
The bloodwraith’s neck cranes back at an unnatural angle and it howls to the wind, bloodstained talons reaching out and forward; compelled to attack.
His breath catches in his throat and Taylor squeezes his eyes shut. He braces himself—
For the pain that never comes. The icy grasp of a fate worse than death that he still can only imagine; still must only imagine.
Peeks a tentative eye open to the sight of Cassiopeia’s severed hand stretched out in Vera’s quivering grasp.
A firsthand witness to how the small and humble sparks in Vera’s breast ignite into a blaze that consumes her soul.
“You will not.”
okay but romantic composers are kind of crazy??
So I don't have a lot of knowledge on composers or music because I.. just don't. But in music study we do get a little bit of context about the composers so we can write about them in exams and my goodness these people are w i l d.
Monsieur Hector Berlioz, we're starting off strong here. The piece we're studying is the first movement of his (probably) most infamous work, Symphonie Fantastique and dang, the CONTEXT, LET ME TELL YOU. This man fell in love with an Irish actress playing Ophelia in a production of Hamlet in Paris. Like lovestruck, Cupid shot him into oblivion, obviously. Sent her some letters declaring his undying obsession love for this lovely lady, but he got no reply, and the actress went back home.
This man. Was so OBVIOUSLY ob s Esse d that he decided to compose a FIVE MOVEMENT piece dedicated to her. Bear in mind symphonies usually had four movements so Monsieur Berlioz here is already off the fuckin charts. To make it even more fucking insane, the story behind the entire piece is something else:
An artist falls in love with a woman (she has a musical theme and everything, very romantic) and he's deep in that crush.
He goes to a ball and sees her and his heart goes badda bing badda boom
He does opium (possible overdose?) and starts having hallucinations???
He hallucinates loving this woman so much he finds and KILLS HER
He also hallucinates being arrested and being executed (beheaded) for his crimes. You can also hear in the music representing his head bouncing down the stairs of the gallow/rostrum thing??
He hallucinates SUFFERING IN HELL FOR HIS ACTIONS
And to top it all off, he said it was SEMI-AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL?
Monsieur Berlioz ooh lala
Ive been writing for too long but Beethoven honestly- he got angry that he was getting more and more deaf so he made a fuckin boss level piano sonata to make people suffering for his lack of hearing I apologise Beethoven but we love you please weren't sorry who hurt you-
At Your Service (Ch. 1)
You can find my masterlist in my bio!
My first Ikevamp post! This isn’t even one of the 13 ocs that I talked about before. She’s completely new but is anyone really surprised?
Tagging @plumpblueberry for supporting Ophelia and all her future fun times with the vampires.
This entire series is going to come with a big NSFW warning!
Warnings: Smut toward the end! (It’s Arthot, what else did you expect?)
Tumblr media
The door closed firmly in her face by the butler had just barely missed her nose. One minute, maybe not even that long. She had been turned away before getting more than a few sentences out. The master of the house refused to see her, instead sending his attendant to kick her out. Ophelia blinked, hand lingering on the doorknob to the main entrance. Leaving without even being heard left her wounded.
Her qualifications were most impressive. It should have given her the edge, despite the ad specifying a male for the position. All attempts to find a new job had come to a screeching halt. Her previous employer having blacklisted her for wishing to leave him. If she could get someone to listen to her side and give her a solid chance…
“Well, hello there, little bird,” A voice called out to her, approaching from the main gate. The moon illuminated his silhouette in silver light. He strode up to her, seemingly going to walk straight into her.
Ophelia hit the wooden door with her back, golden eyes gazing up at the sparkling blue eyes curiously inspecting her features with a wicked grin. Somewhere in the back of her mind, a switch flickered with danger, yet she could not bring herself to move her legs. The girl completely enthralled in him.
Arthur peered down at her, thoughtfully wondering how long she could last before bolting for the front gate. “You smell utterly delicious, dear maid,” he continued, sliding a gloved finger up her throat to lift her chin higher. “Hair pinned perfectly away, exposing your lovely neck.”
His manner of speaking threw her off guard.
“Are you going to be our new little toy?”
Ophelia found herself gaining back control of her senses at his question. Dejection pouring over her like a cold bucket of water. “No, Monsieur. It seems I am ill qualified to work here. The Master of the house would not even speak directly to me.” If she’d met him, shown him what her capabilities were, then he would have most certainly changed his mind.
“How unfortunate,” He mused, finger still stroking her neck affectionately. Her blood calling to him, though he’d already fed earlier in the evening. Arthur held her captive with his inquisitive gaze, a thrilling idea coming to his lips. “How would you fancy working for me? I would gladly take a personal little maid like yourself. I vow to take very good care of you.”
His offer took a moment to sink in. “Are you making fun of me?” She couldn’t fathom him being the master of the house, so would it be in his realm of power to give her a position like that? Could this man be so cruel as to tug at her soul with those words only to tear it away from her?
Arthur twisted a curl of her black hair between his index finger and thumb, bringing the lock up to his lips to kiss it. “Oh, not at all. It is the sincerest of offers to you, miss maid.” The amount of fun he could have with this one washed him in anxious anticipation. She must say yes. The craving in her golden irises was utterly delectable.
The girl clasped both her hands around his, the lock falling from his grasp. “Yes, please, allow me to take the position. I will do anything that asked of me.”
His lips quirked upward. “That’s what I like to hear.” Carefully lifting her trembling hands up, he brushed a kiss across her knuckles. It would be such a shame not to get a taste of her after how desperately she had been silently begging for it. Her repertoire must have included being a service maid. The clear longing for someone to serve etched deep within her being.
The interior of the mansion nearly took her breath away. Immaculately clean and polished to the brim. Ophelia kept pace just behind him, slightly to the right. “May I ask you a question?” She pipped up, inspecting the grandeur around her.
“Whatever is on your mind, little maid.” Arthur took a key from his breast pocket to unlock his quarters.
Ophelia stood in the open doorway, quizzically inspecting the room that he’d entered. A large enough room that cleaning it would take a least a day from top to bottom. An agenda forming in her head of what she could do to spruce up the space. “What would you like me to call you?” Calling him a general title didn’t feel right to her.
Master and maid was an intimate relationship.
“Ah yes, Arthur is perfectly acceptable,” he answered, taking her hand to lead her in so the door could be firmly shut. It would be quite disappointing if anyone where to interrupt his fun. “And your name?” While nicknames could prove to be effective in earning her loyalty, slipping in her real name at precise moments would be useful.
“Ophelia, Maître Arthur.” The girl gave a slight curtsey yet never broke eye contact.
The sound of her calling him master brought him intense joy. How easily it had fallen from her lips, no hesitation in admitting that she was submitting herself to him. His tongue trailed over his fangs, the thirst for her growing exponentially stronger.
“A fetching name for a lovely bird.” Arthur restrained his intent to devour her for the moment. Playing with his meal made it all the more appetizing. Gesturing a hand out to the stack of papers and books strewn across the room, he gave her the first task. “I’ll be working at my desk, but you can start by replacing these books on the shelf and steadying these papers, yes?”
Her expression lit up with anticipation, eager to start before he’d barely finished speaking. “Of course! I won’t disturb you.” Waiting patiently for him to settle at the large desk, the girl set to work. The books were categorized by author making it a simple job to replace them to their proper spot upon the shelf.
The stacks of papers had drawn her attention. Some crumpled up in the floor, having not quite made it to the trashcan. Ophelia couldn’t stop herself from scanning the top page of the largest stack. Scanning the words hastily written across with elegant script, the name scribbled across the very bottom caught her attention. “Curious,” she muttered.
The name read as Arthur Conan Doyle. A famous novelist from Britain if her memory served her. He’d gained quite the ground in literature, especially the mystery ones with that strange Holmes detective. She’d mused the question before realizing, “Are you a fan of the novelist?”
These were hand written, so could it be that he could be trying to immolate the writer?
“Something to that effect,” Arthur answered, hunched over at the desk. How did she know that? A question that he would pursue at another time. Pushing up his glasses with his index finger, watchful blue eyes were trained on her. He couldn’t break the news in this moment. He couldn’t judge how she would react, and that would put a damper on his plans should she want to leave.
Ophelia had become transfixed on the work in her hands, carefully reading over each word and engrossing herself in the story. Her honest expressions drew him in, the last of Arthur’s self-control fizzling out. Something so delicious innocently awaiting to be caught.
Snatching the paper from her, Arthur reveled in her surprised reaction. “I’m terribly thirsty,” he admitted, hands on her waist to guide her up against the dresser nearest them. With her back to him, the mirror atop would give her a full view of what was to come.
Her stillness with bated breaths only pushed her further into his grasp.
Arthur dipped his head down, tracing his tongue over her exposed neck. He had waited long enough to get a taste. Their eyes met, equally mirroring anticipation for his next move. The girl had yet to pull away, either out of obedience or curiosity.
A soft gasp fell from her lips as his fangs sank down into her tender skin. Her hands gripped the edge of the dresser, steadying her swaying body. Ophelia watched through half lidded eyes. The pain dull, replaced by a warm euphoria spreading over.
With one arm securely around her waist, Arthur licked the blood off the bite marks. “Even sweeter than I imagined.” Worth waiting for after all.
Ophelia blinked slowly, eyes hazed over with a fog of pleasure. Her mind unable to wrap around what had happened to her. In an awkward turn, she twisted in his arms, hands wrapped in the lapels of his jacket. The words couldn’t form in her mouth. Questions stacked upon questions. Instead of any of those, she whispered a plea so soft that Arthur barely heard her. “Do that again.”
The heat that had overtaken her began to fade, and she craved to have it back.
“Again? Needy little bird, aren’t we?” Despite his words, Arthur would gladly take another sip from her. Emotions can fuel the taste of human blood to be sweet or bitter, and the more she wanted it, the sweeter her taste would become.
Her strength waning, she leaned her forehead against his chest. “It’s all very unclear,” she muttered, dazed from the event to the point of nothing making any sense to her. Still, gathering her desire as best she could, Ophelia found a coherent sentence. “If you wish me to be your maid, then proper training is required.” The words hardly felt like her own, coming from a part of her that she was unfamiliar with.
How could he argue? A willing participant handing over their entire being. The temptation too much for him to resist. And how he would enjoy bringing her to the edge of oblivion over and over again. Her days at the mansion would be indefinite.
Easily lifting her to sit atop the dresser, Arthur stripped off his gloves. “A pleaser, I see.”
“Isn’t that my main purpose? Serving a master with delight?”
Lightly chuckling, the novelist didn’t have a counter argument. He pushed her torso back against the mirror, pulling her hips forward to the edge of the dresser. A human so eager to have him play with her. The strange turn of events bringing the vampire the excitement he had been missing. “I suppose.”
A shiver tingled up her body at his touch.
“But in this household, you’ll serve with your entire being.”
Golden eyes locked onto the demanding blue ones, seeking absolute attention.
“Mind.” He lifted her leg to place a delicate kiss on her knee.
“Soul.” Trailing his free hand up her thigh, her skirt crinkled up around her waist, baring her skin.
Arthur traced his fingertips over her warm skin, enjoying the show of the girl unraveling before him. Her palms flat on the dresser, submission to his whims written across her. No attempts to stop the actions. His little bird openly accepting his touch without any hints of fear.
“And especially…body.” Feather light traces of his fingertips across her thigh slid up to the band of her panties. He hooked his index finger under the band, snapping it against her skin, causing her to jump in surprise. “You’ll come to see that we require special services that you aren’t familiar with. But, don’t fret, little one, I’ll patiently and thoroughly teach you each and every detail that you need to know. Until you’re only reacting on pure instinct.”
Ophelia’s breath caught in her throat as Arthur peppered kisses against her inner thigh. Fangs scraping lightly on the skin but not piercing. “Yes.”
“Stay still,” Arthur ordered, spiraling into his own state of bliss. He couldn’t fathom how the girl had been turned away. It would be messy if their secret were to be revealed but with the right amount of attention and training, she could be incredibly useful.
His fangs sank down into the sensitive skin. Blue eyes flickered up to observe her melt into the abyss of sheer pleasure. Her hips wiggled, aching for more.
Ophelia knew what role maid’s played with men like him. They were all the same. Nothing mattered in their world, consequences did not exist. Whether married or single, their wealth placed them above all others. Maids were made to be played with when the whim arose.
Many times, it came with pain and misery, but the girl sought a place to belong.
She craved the attention that serving a household could give her.
Arthur could have drunk every last drop of her, and he believed she might have let him. But where was the fun in that? Gently pushing her knees apart as far as they could go, he placed sloppy kisses up to her clothed core. “Are you still with me, little maid?”
His question returned with a whimper of desperation.
Ophelia could not process any thoughts. Her consciousness under a deep fog of desire, like having a drug coursing through her.
Lapping his tongue over her clit, he chuckled at her impatient whine. Arthur could have held her there for hours, playing with her until she was a quivering mess. “We’ve got plenty of time for that,” He muttered to himself, hooking his index fingers under the band of her panties.
Without any instructions, her hips lifted high enough to allow him to slide them off and toss them somewhere haphazardly behind them.
Arthur stroked three fingers down her slick folds testing her wetness before dipping them into her core. The girl rocked her hips forward searching for more stimulation. “Hold your skirt up. It’s blocking my lovely view.”
Shaky hands crumpled the material within her fists, pulling it up to expose all of her lower body.
“That’s a good girl,” He said, tongue tracing over his lips. Her promise to do anything at all echoed in his mind, feeding so many delicious ideas. Arthur used his free hand to tuck her hair behind her ear, the strands that had slipped out of her clip.
Her cheeks were flushed with crimson red, mouth slightly parted, begging for his lips to touch hers. Golden eyes casting needy desire from under her fluttering lashes.
Arthur leaned forward, close enough to feel her breaths on his lips. “Sing for me, little bird,” he whispered, swiping his thumb across her sensitive clit, bringing a jolt up her body. "Work for it. Make yourself cum on my fingers," he said, curling his fingers within her core with each slow menstruation. Ophelia rocked her hips forward, losing all control of her existence outside of this moment. The dresser creaked under her, matching in time with her gaspy breaths. The closer she came to her release, the sloppier her movements became. "Please-" Her first coherent word since he'd drawn her into a state of need for pleasure. It fell from her lips softly, pleading for his assistance. No matter how much she tried, nothing was enough. "Sing for me, Ophelia," Arthur demanded, picking up the slack in movements by pumping his fingers quickly and rubbing her clit hard with his other hand. Hearing her name for the first time in tandem with his loving voice sent her spiraling. Moans spilled from her mouth, legs trembling as her orgasm overtook her. "Maître Arthur-" over and over she breathlessly muttered his name like a prayer. Arthur chuckled, soaking up the satisfied expression on her features. "I'm going to have so much fun with you." A wicked smirk grew on his lips as she tugged his hand up to her mouth. Ophelia slid her tongue over his wet fingers, tasting her own juices. Her warm mouth sucking tenderly on his digits, eyes focused up on him. She slid her tongue over her lips, swiping the last bit of sweetness into her mouth. "What else can I do for you, Maître Arthur?" "I've got some ideas, little maid." Arthur could keep her all to himself after the night he had planned for her. Although, it would be most entertaining to watch her succumb to the others. A thought for another time. For tonight, he had her entirely to himself.
Another Oc in the books! Next will be Ophelia facing the real master of the house [Insert smirk emoji here]
Rust snickers, "If she's not my girlfriend! If she wants to be, I got no problem with it! But if she ain't into me and wants to be friends, I'm cool with it. You just need to admit that you got a crush on her, Navarro."
"M-m-me? Mouse?" He stammered. "I mean...yeah....we hack a lot and we make it a contest who can break the toughest firewall the fasts without being noticed and we're helping other hackers' networks."
"That it?" Rust asked making Fosh flush his cheeks. "Y-yeah..." The hacker said. Shdwkyz, Rust, and Navarro were not convinced while Jaron still keeps on chuckling.
"But hey! At Gerald is having fun with Ping. They get along so well!" Fosh said, changing the subject.
"Don't change the subject!" Shdwkyz scowled. As for the girls.
Scroll down to avoid my Madoka Rant Analysis
Okay so when resources are strained, Kyubey has shown in Rebellion that he is willing to do non-consensual things to other living beings, this time, Magical Girls. In the Madoka Magica Portable game exclusive to Japan (I'm pretty sure it was exclusive), which is the origin of Mami's and Kyoko's witches in canon, Candeloro and Ophelia, it dove into many different timelines you could play through that weren't shown in the anime, for instance if Mami stays alive and chooses seemingly inconsequential things, she will watch a child be devoured by Gisela's (the Silver witch) familiar, and become Candeloro. If Homura had successfully killed Sayaka when she was about to fall into despair, Kyoko would've become Ophelia. With all these different timelines, something sticks out though. When you play through a couple of Homura's stories, you gain access to two special Witches with no real backstory aside from their short description. Quitterie the Needle Witch, and Itzli the Oblivion Witch.
Quitterie's description is a bit strange, but sounds like a normal Madoka protagonist backstory: "Witch of needles, with a respectful nature. She is the remains of a magical girl who gave up everything to fight for the universe. She believes that she is saving the universe even now." So clearly she was important. Then, Itzli's description. It reads: "The witch of oblivion, with a vengeful nature. A witch who is said to have originally been a magical girl who came from the end of the galaxy. She has shown herself now in order to forget about all the magical girls from this universe."
Both of these magical descriptions mention the Universe, not just the Earth. And Itzli's description makes it sound like she was a magical girl who wasn't human, coming from the end of the galaxy. But Kyubey states that the Incubators found that Humans were the most efficient source of energy. So here's my argument. Itzli was possibly the first magical girl ever contracted, an alien magical girl.
But, as proven with Rebellion, Kyubey, when desperate, will do things non-consensually. So she might've not contracted, or possibly was forced straight into witchhood to test the limits. This would explain why she has a "Vengeful" nature, to destroy the creature who tortured her into her new existence. Now, with the Incubators test done, they leave the planet for dead as Itzli destroys it. Itzli wreaks havoc across the galaxy until she comes to Earth, and then this crisis forces humans to have a cause to contract, not based on whims, and so the Magical Girl who became Quitterie contracted and was the first human to do so. Then, she becomes a witch.
Now all of this is fine and dandy, but this brings up an interesting question: How much extraterrestrial life did Itzli destroy on her way to Earth? My answer? All. Kyubey has a convenient answer to why he collects despair from Humanity, to make extraterrestrial life continue amongst the stars. But he never specified if any of that life was not the Incubators. The incubator race has practically colonized and destroyed all other life in the galaxy for resources to continue their existence and to ensure that humanity will keep reaching for that promised life in the stars while never finding it, making them more dependant on the Incubators. End of Essay.
be bloody, or be nothing worth- John Brackenreid
Request: Can John be in love with his friend and he finally confesses to her. And can she be a actress too
A/N: This went through a few rewrites and I can confidently say this is the best version. I hope it was worth the wait. A link has been provided for the soliloquy used in this story.
Hamlet Act 4 Scene 4
__________________________________________________
“You look nervous.”
“I am!” You snap back at John who recoils at the aggression. Immediately you feel a pain of guilt for the comment, sometimes this play was becoming too much.
“It’s just a audition y/n, you’ve done and passed hundreds before.” He sighed “This isn’t even your first time auditioning for Shakespeare’s Hamlet.”
You stopped pacing around the back stage when he said this. It was not new information but a simple reminder at times like this was often helpful. He was almost always like this; calm and collected while you were the embodiment of paranoia. You went up and hugged him, the worry inside of you seemed to be crushed out in his embrace.
“You think I can be Ophelia again?”
“You’ll be fine y/n.” One final squeeze and he reluctantly lets go, “This is more of a formality anyway. How many times have you been casted by these people in one of their plays?”
You both knew the answer to the question, John had attended each of your performances that year and only gave encouragement. Your name is called from the audience and you head out onto the stage with a final smile to and from John. Before you walk out to greet the casting directors John quickly asks a final question before you started to walk out onto the stage. “What performance are you doing anyway?”
“I’m doing Hamlet’s final soliloquy, the one were he promises to take revenge on the King.” John nods with a grin; you couldn’t deciside between Hamlet’s final or first grand speech. The loving friend calls out well wishes as you walked onto centre stage and began to act after stating your name and desired role to the familiar faces in the audience. With John watching from the side you felt invincible on the stage.
John quietly watched you from the side stage as you began. The soliloquy was not for your desired character but John knew you could pull it off; he heard fragments as you practiced but this would be the first time he would hear the complete version.
“How all occasions do inform against me,
And spur my dull revenge! What is a man,
If his chief good and market of his time
Be but to sleep and feed? a beast, no more.
Sure, he that made us with such large discourse,
Looking before and after, gave us not
That capability and god-like reason
To fust in us unused.”
“She does make a good point,” John said to himself. It is thoughts and desires beyond survival that makes us human. Everyone has a purpose in their life that acts as a driving motive for all their actions. Narrowly a day would pass that you wouldn’t be found lost in work or practice; the drive for constant improvement. He always respected that about you, even when it unfortunilty cut into the time he desperately wanted to spend by your side.
“Now, whether it be
Bestial oblivion, or some craven scruple
Of thinking too precisely on the event,
A thought which, quarter'd, hath but one part wisdom
And ever three parts coward, I do not know
Why yet I live to say 'This thing's to do;'
Since I have cause and will and strength and means
To do it.”
It was little moments like this that John admired you for. You lacked any semblance of fear or cowardice, always willing to speak your mind despite the repercussions. Privately you were an inspiration to John in that regard; much like the character of Hamlet he too could be inactive on pressing matters. Especially ones regarding yourself.
“Examples gross as earth exhort me:
Witness this army of such mass and charge
Led by a delicate and tender prince,
Whose spirit with divine ambition puff'd
Makes mouths at the invisible event,
Exposing what is mortal and unsure
To all that fortune, death and danger dare,
Even for an egg-shell. Rightly to be great
Is not to stir without great argument,
But greatly to find quarrel in a straw
When honour's at the stake.”
John watched you gesture your arms to the side in rhythm with the speech. Almost like a dance to match the symphony of words passing your lips. Those same lips John thoughts often lingered on for lengthy periods of time. Only a single part of a face unparalleled by any other. How he would often wish to confess his true feelings for you but could rarely find the courage. Unable to find the reason while the future of your relationship was at the stakes.
“How stand I then,
That have a father kill'd, a mother stain'd,
Excitements of my reason and my blood,
And let all sleep, while, to my shame, I see
The imminent death of twenty thousand men,
That, for a fantasy and trick of fame,
Go to their graves like beds, fight for a plot
Whereon the numbers cannot try the cause,
Which is not tomb enough and continent
To hide the slain?”
Again John is sent into a flurry of thoughts. Like Hamlet he has reason to act, he has the opportunity to spill his heart, but all is left idle. Fears of losing a friend hold him back while you take action for minuscule reasons at the very spirit of success. Another beloved trait which he loved you for.
“O, from this time forth,
My thoughts be bloody, or be nothing worth!”
“If my thoughts are not about taking action then they are worthless.” No longer could John remain inactive while lacking means to hold back. If he truly wanted a romantic relationship then he would have to make a move, tackle his problems head on rather than letting them linger. No longer did John want to wait, now was the time for action.
The casting directors applaud your performance as you take a well deserved bow. Words are exchanged before you are dismissed from the stage, the desired role of Ophelia confirmed to now belong to you. Ecstatic you walk off stage back into the company of your Constable friend.
Without a second thought or moment of hesitation you leap into his arms with a thrilled cheer. Any remaining fear from earlier had vanished and been replaced with excitement in the bone crushing hug John has put you in. He barely had the opportunity to interject a sentence in between your joy.
“y/n I need to tell you something."
Still locking in his arms you look up at him, comfortablely resting against his chest with faces only inches apart. “What is it?”
For a moment the world freezes. Locked in a tight squeeze the two of you can only concentrate on each others faces; yourself getting lost in his eyes while John can’t tear them off your slightly ajar lips. “We’ve been friends for years now and...” He wants to stop, to pull back from this potentially dangerous path. However if his thoughts are not of blood, not of action, then they worthless.
“...and I would like to be more than that.” Before John has a chance to wonder if he was alone with these emotions or if his timing was wrong you answer his question with a kiss. Pressing the same lips that John savours against his he waste no time in kissing back, moving his hand from your upper back to cup your cheek while one of your own explores the trimmed hair on the back of his head. Stretching slightly to reach johns height you simultaneously try to pull him closer with your hand, deeper into the kiss.
If John had any lingering fears they did not show, instead he embraced the moment he created for himself. A beautiful girl in his arms due to action instead of idle thought. Bloody thoughts that proved their worth.
Cancer: Cordelia (King Lear)
“I am sure my love’s more ponderous than my tongue”
Leo: Titania (A Midsummer Night’s Dream)
“These are the forgeries of jealousy; And never, since the middle summer's spring, met we on hill, in dale, forest, or mead, by paved fountain, or by rushy brook, or in the beached margent of the sea, to dance our ringlets to the whistling wind”
Virgo: Juliet Capulet (Romeo & Juliet)
“Although I joy in thee, I have no joy of this contract tonight. It is too rash, too unadvised, too sudden, too like the lightning, which doth cease to be ere one can say 'It lightens.’“
Libra: Portia (The Merchant of Venice)
“You see me, Lord Bassanio, where I stand, such as I am: though for myself alone I would not be ambitious in my wish, to wish myself much better; yet, for you I would be trebled twenty times myself; A thousand times more fair, ten thousand times more rich”
Scorpio: Beatrice (Much Ado About Nothing)
“But manhood is melted into curtsies, valor into compliment, and men are only turned into tongue, and trim ones, too. He is now as valiant as Hercules that only tells a lie and swears it. I cannot be a man with wishing; therefore I will die a woman with grieving”
Sagittarius: Miranda (The Tempest)
“O, brave new world, that has such people in ‘t!”
Aquarius: Rosalind (As You Like It)
“It is not the fashion to see the lady the epilogue; but it is no more unhandsome than to see the lord the prologue. If it be true that good wine needs no bush, 'tis true that a good play needs no epilogue; yet to good wine they do use good bushes, and good plays prove the better by the help of good epilogues”
Pisces: Ophelia (Hamlet)
“There’s rosemary, that’s for remembrance; pray, love, remember; and there is pansies, that’s for thoughts...There’s fennel for you, and columbines; there’s rue for you, and here’s some for me; we may call it herb of grace o’ Sundays. O, you must wear your rue with a difference”
