You're here again.
He raised his head, sniffing lightly. As soon as Death recognized the familiar pattern in the air, he breathed out a long sigh. Looming over everyone amidst the building's shadows, his eyes soon landed at your form who seemingly ducked from across a market's fruit stand. Judging from the way you peeked from behind the table together with a hooded cape covering half of your features, much like his, it was clear that you were trying to lose a certain group of individuals.
And he could already pinpoint who by the amount of royal guards dashing past through him, charging at the bustling streets in pursuit of their escaped target.
"Where's your highness?!"
"Not again!"
"They couldn't have gotten that far!"
Death scoffed at the unfolding scene, his gaze shifting into amusement as they barged their way through the crowd, completely missing your hiding spot.
So you were born into nobility.
Good for you.
The last time you had mentioned something along the lines of hoping to be more fortunate with your next life, you were but a young commoner then. You got by everyday through the means of letting the spreading garden outside your lands flourish. And you were good at what you did that the village folk regularly flocked for your goods. You've always crafted and tended to them with great care after all, Death could tell, notably with the souvenir you had dearly imparted him in that lifetime.
A pink carnation.
It was foolish, for someone to offer him a thing so delicate that could wither in his touch.
(The petals were kept away safe, surprisingly staying intact despite its age.)
Still, out of all your paths he had the displeasure of clashing fates with, it was in this moment where Death deemed you most worthy by how you spent your days to the fullest compared to the those who put very little value in theirs.
It's why he never understood the appeal of that one silly dream of yours. He believed you were already blessed with much more than those sitting idly on their thrones and wasting away inside their high castles.
Wealth, of course, came in different forms.
And so Death told you it was stupid thinking, his usual spat when it came to your absurdist of ideas, which were honestly plentiful in your brief periods of living.
"Why does it matter? Kings and queens and peasants— you're all going to meet the same end someday."
His bitter tone was dismissed by a snort of disbelief. "Geez, you talk so dark," you commented, shaking your head.
You often found yourself wondering how indeed you managed to strike an unlikely friendship with such a brooding cloud of a bounty hunter.
He, on the other hand, liked to think that you were able to entice him with your humble presence and a warm welcome home whenever he was at the area to fetch some sorry fool who grated his nerves.
Gently picking at the stems of your morning harvest, you broke into a half-hearted smile. "If I'm lucky, maybe I'll even find you first next time."
"You won't," he responded, voice low yet so sure, like this was a common topic between the two of you. His answer would remain the same. "But I will."
Death always did.

my anxiety is sky fucking high right now
end me and my torment. please
I cannot fucking take all this medical bullshit going on with me I can’t fucking take it there’s so much it’s constantly new stuff I always feel like I’m dying and that since my doctors have no fucking clue what any of it is caused by, they have no fucking idea how to save me, or even help me, and whenever I have an idea of something to check for they shut me down and I’m a good advocate for myself typically but I’m so at my wits end that I take what they say at face value and don’t push it any further. I need someone desperately to come to appointments and advocate for me but I have no one I could trust to do that, and even if I did, no one is able to take time off work for my medical appointments even my mom who is my transportation. I’ve skipped out on so so so many medical appointments lately that I need because I don’t have transportation. and the reason I don’t have transportation? Fucking new medical condition preventing me from driving!!! fucking condition that apparently has no likely causes and therefore no direction of treatment!!! the only possible treatment I could try is a type of physical therapy which would have to be at least weekly if not more often and 100 miles away!!!! when I HAVE NO TRANSPORTATION BECAUSE OF THIS CONDITION!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAA FUCKING END ME ALREADY
AND BECAUSE I HAVENT HAD THESE NEW CONDITIONS FOR 12 MONTHS YET THEY DONT EVEN COUNT TOWARDS MY ONGOING DISABILITY CASE. AND IM ON TRACK TO LOSE MY HEALTHCARE COVERAGE IN FEBRUARY UNLESS I WIN MY DISABILITY CASE. AND I HAVE NOT WORKED SINCE JANUARY AND I HAVE BARELY ENOUGH MONEY FOR ONE MORE MONTH OF STRICTLY MY OWN BILLS. AND MY MOM CANT AFFORD THE REST OF THE BILLS EVEN WORKING OVERTIME AND CANT GET A FULL WEEKS PAY WHEN SHE HAS TO TAKE ME TO MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS
AND BECAUSE I HAVENT WON MY DISABILITY CASE (YET?) FOODSTAMPS WON’T CONSIDER ME DISABLED/UNABLE TO WORK SO THEY WONT GIVE US ANY MORE FOOD ASSISTANCE FOR 3 YEARS UNLESS I WORK AT LEAST 20 HOURS PER WEEK
AND!!!
There are 2 food banks in my entire county!!! which in my area you have to have an address in the county to get their food bank assistance!! and!!! one of them ONLY distributes food 2 Mondays per month for an hour each time!! 10:30-11:30 am!!! my mom works every weekday from like 6am until at least 5 pm!!!
And the other one is only open M-F 9am-3pm!!!!!! and you can only get their assistance once per month anyway!!!! and it’s Christian as hell so typically they really push Christian bullshit on everything!!!! and there is ONE church that sometimes offers food pantry items but again!! that’s only on Tuesdays 8am-noon!!!!!!
and for all of the above you have to provide your ID and verify your income and all that shit so like it isn’t like I can get anyone to go pick up shit for us either!!!!
GOD just JESUS FUCKING CHRIST just I AM LOSING MY GOD DAMNED MIND!!!! LIFE IS IMPOSSIBLE LET ME FUCKING OUUUUUTTTTTTTT

To answer your questions as best I can
1. 2022, it's been a... wild few last years including but not limited to: a plague, all of world trade being stopped by a boat that got stuck in a canal for like, a week, several signs of various apocalypses from different cultures happening (apparently), and a litany of other things that frankly I can't begin to remember anymore.
2. President is a milquetoast white man which is an improvement over the last guy
3. The government apparently confirmed aliens were a thing but because of the ongoing plague no one really paid any attention to that.
Also people are spending thousands of dollars on jpgs so there's your technology.

Maria: Watch animation as much as possible. More you're exposed, the more you can make your own voice.

Lindsay: Fandubs are fantastic, creators notice
Arryn: Get a thick skin because you'll hear nothing or get told no, everyone will have an opinion
Kerry: Keep pushing forward.
Kara: Patience and persistence
Miles: Some methods aren't for everyone
"What was the hardest scene?"
Lindsay: First season
Barb: Burning the Candle BB scene, weird combo of "sad but okay"
Lindsay again: End of V3, Yang & Ruby interaction. Finding out how her characters laugh or cry.
Arryn: Chibi, because she's excited for the first time but also I just got done with Dr. Gray.
Ironwood: Finding out what Ironwood actually sounds like (turns out to be his actual voice)

Miles: The red-haired woman scene.
"Can other huntsmen/huntresses have the same semblances?"
Miles: We wrote something that could have been better. But yes, there can be duplicates, but there can be little aesthetic differences, but all based on personality, etc. More semblance talk in V7!
Kerry: We're not actually retconning anything, we just did a shitty job
"Due to controversy, how do you handle stress from crunch etc."
Kerry: We were already working on it, but we're adding people and just try to work within limits. 13 episodes, airs Nov 2nd. If we get closer and don't feel like we can make it, we'll push it back.
"Why does Blake have cat ears and human ears?"

Janus will still have one more chapter for an epilogue. I'm still a little busy with my pending ongoing projects (Liminality and The Song of Requiem), but I can assure you that Janus will be finished soon.

Relatively new follower but curious about your OCs. Mind writing a quick rundown of your main babies and ongoing projects if any?
AAAAAAAAAaaa!!! Hey there!! Yeah I don’t mind haha
I have my persona, Lucas/flowers/flower king/whatever you wanna call them. They just really love nature and can manipulate plants
I also have my main comfort ocs, Dellian, Johnatha, Killian (he needs a name change,,), Sage, and Fin! I love them all with my heart
I do have like. 3 ongoing projects. My main one is Dimensions, my comic that I’m starting to bring my attention to once again! I’m not really sure how to explain it? An artifact gets broken and my three bubs gotta do something about that, but ofc other things happen because plot yo. The main chars. from that are Lexi, Alex, Sam, Noah, and Leo. With some other characters as well (Cade, Link, Sagath, some others)
I also have A Creeks Bend/A Saint’s Trail which is another comic (it’ll be traditional in ink) I plan to start after I get a foothold of Dimensions. It’s about my good baby, Moth, who hates the warrior code and starts a revolution against the clans
Then there’s my final one, Beyond The Moon, and that is still. deep in the progress. I plan to make this a much bigger story than Dimensions and A Creeks Bend. But since my focus is on the other two I haven’t had a whole lot of time set aside just for this story. working on it in bits and pieces.

I'm way behind on servamo but insanely curious. So please, with as few spoilers as possible. Is Achilles in servamp now?

I just said that cuz Hyde's a hedgehog and Licht fights with boots/kicking and that looked like one hell of a bite and Hyde and Licht were always going at each other before character development so it just reminded me of Greed Pair is all. There is no Achilles in Servamp. There's no. Like. Gods/demigods/whatever Achilles is in Servamp. Yet. I dunno, it's still ongoing so Tanaka-sensei has time to do that if they want to, lol.

omg
omg i think the next episode is The One That Had Nothing To Do With The Main Plot
and that's the most beautiful thing that exists

I will forever love Usagi's enthusiasm in the opening when she says 'I don't look like a superheroine, but I am!'
(but no child you do look like one you're the defining superheroine of my childhood)
Ami's summer outfit is the best
actually I love all of their summer outfits but Ami is just special
oh right its the weird one week summer holidays or something? how it works in Japan?
Usagi is dreaming of being tan and I can't help but note that I like this particular beauty standard

they just. leave her behind as she's lost in her dreams
im the slow autistic (tm) and i tend to space out and lose track of what's happening and i have been hiking since i was 5yo and listen. trailing behind everyone trying to catch up is my worst nightmare. when everyone stops to rest and let you catch up but when you, going at your top speed, exhausted, arrive, is exactly when everyone else, refreshed and rejuvenated, stands up and goes on
like i should probably not project my feet issues on Usagi (SURPRISE IT TURNS OUT MY WHINING ABOUT MY LEGS HURTING WAS NOT IN FACT ABOUT THE SAME SHIT EVERYONE ELSE WAS GOING THROUGH AND MY MOM HAD NO IDEA)
but goddammit STOP LEAVING MY GIRL BEHIND YOU FUCKS YOU DON'T DESERVE HER
honestly 99% of my feelings towards Usagi are bitter bitterness towards everyone around her except like. Naru

these creatures are genuinely spooky
it's kind of interesting to analyze how Ami and Rei aren't reacting to their appearance at all while Usagi is freaking out
this is the Weirdness Filter - when people just assume that the weird thing has a perfectly ordinary explanation and anyway if it doesn't affect them it might as well be ordinary either way
also I love how Ami immediately picks up on the fact the girl is being treated badly
Rei is too distracted by Usagi, Usagi is too distracted by EVERYTHING IS SCARY
and here's Luna chiding Usagi for making a commotion
you know when I was a kid I thought of myself as being a bad student and lazy. I got nearly all perfect marks and the only person who was better than me was my best friend but all I could think was 'i am worse than her' bc my mom was ~in a very bad place~ at the time and more or less did nothing but criticize and tear me down for everything that went the least bit wrong
I think back to my kid years and I just feel so weirded out by all the self esteem I was missing back then. like I'm sorry but I was kind of awesome??? and like. the only person who would tell me that was my grandma who lives in a different fucking country and visits twice a year. her praise did not exactly impact my daily life much
my point is FUCK OFF LUNA USAGI IS GREAT AND PERCEPTIVE
she is freaking out because she is paying attention okay

Usagi is really good at seeing the best in situations and loving her friends selflessly but holy shit she's being put through so much fuckery
I absolutely love that this anime just kinda casually includes a werewolf, a frankenstein's monster and a vague monster creature in one episode without them being either explained or ever brought up again
hm so here's Rei and Ami independently stumbling across some secrets

the one person who realizes how much emotional labor Usagi's ready&willing to do for anyone ever
this guy is such a good portrayal of an abusive parent. hes technically doing all the parent things, never going more than /slightly/ over the edge, so if the girl complained to anyone it would never sound like anything really bad was happening to her. he sounds so reasonable and caring and his selfish motivations are so obvious
so hey theres Usagi literally stumbling upon something scary

Usagi is the one of the girls whose life became only worse since Luna came and I'm not going to stop reiterating that
and her father is capable of /some/ actual caring
he's not black and white but his actions are and it's very well done
I kind of wish the senshi could do more to help, I vaguely dislike the idea of their powers /only/ being useful to combat their Designated Foes
Rei and Ami picking on Usagi is genuinely actually really not fun even if Usagi's capable of making the best out of it
