Sakazaki in ch 49 said :
The rumour of takaba went around like this
Asami ryuchi keeping a pretty little boy toy with him
It is so funny that poor akihito think that nobody know about the relationship between him and asami
But it seem everybody know except him and his friends
He know people know about the relationship and he don't care about any of this 😂
What do you think ??
I love your page
Thank you 🥰
Sakazaki does mention that rumor but, that rumor was known about even earlier by people in the underworld. To be honest it started all the way back in vol 2!
Tumblr media
Remember this guy!! LOL. This was all because Asami resuced Akihito from Fei Long and that act alone had people suspecting that they were lovers. Because it was out of character for Asami and other people noticed it! This whole chapter was about how this cop was approaching Akihito because he thought Akihito could introduce him to Asami, because he was suspecting that Akihito and him were close.
It came up multiple times since then too — long before sakazaki talked about it. Akihito has been aware of it.
Here Asami is mentioning it in vol 3.
Tumblr media
Also in the Naked truth Arch too when Akihito is kidnapped by Mikhail — mikhail was well aware of this similar rumor which is why he thought it would be valueable to kidnap Aki.
There was also the time when Kuroda apporached Akihito for the first time, and essential asked him “How much he cost?” — implying Asami was paying him for sex.
You have to guess that Akihito doesn’t like this rumor one bit! and he gets very uncomfrotable when people bring it up. Or even when people know who Asami is. He went totally red in the face when Kuroda grilled him and asked him how much he cost, and he couldnt answer because he was so shocked!
He obviously doesn't like it — but there isn't much he can do to quell those rumors because the underworld will talk! Asami is a much-watched and notorious figure in the underworld, and he has enemies and people watching his movements. It is just out of Akihito’s control, he can’t do much about what people say or think. Especially since these rumors were based on the fact that Asami had chosen to rescue Akihito when he was kidnapped. Which people had taken as Asami doing that for someone special? Asami did indeed rescue him, and it's true that they slept with each other — Akihito can admit that much. But it's harder for him to admit that Asami did any of that because there was an emotional feeling or romantic feeling behind it. That is what he is in denial about at the end of the day.
But I think he feels as long as it doesnt effect his life outside of Asami - like his job, his friend, who because they are not involved in the underworld wouldnt find out about these rumors anyway, then I guess he has no choice but to accept the fact that rumors will swirl about him.
Here’s him being pretty pissed at being called a “toy”
Tumblr media
When Sakazaki brought it up again, a part of me felt like why didn’t Akihito rush home and yell at Asami to be like — your telling people I am your BOY TOY!?!! But when Sakazaki mentioned it, I also got the feeling that Asami was purposefully spreading that as a warning — like Asami is owning up to the fact that Akihito is under his protection and if you touch him you’ll die! Y’know that kind of thing. In which case maybe Akihito can’t really say anything about it because it's kinda for his own good — even if he doesn't like it. He has to somewhat accept Asami’s seal of protection.

Hi
I don't know if requests are open or not, but might as give it a try.
May I request a oneshot or headcanon about a potential child/reader between Lin and Tenzin?
Platonic in this case.
Anyway have a nice day!
Tenlin Kid Headcanons
I have… many thoughts about a kid between those two <.< >.> Sorry this took so long, I hope you don’t mind that I went with headcanons! TY for the request! <3

Tumblr media
-Lin didn’t really want a kid… at all. Very conveniently for her, Y/n ends up being an airbender so that kinda makes them not her problem.
-Which is a little harsh but, it is what it is.
-Y/n was born blind- but not being an earthbender they couldn’t learn seismic sense to help them. So they did one better and developed seismic sense but for airbending.
-Airbenders typically already have a weak sense of this, being able to sense increased wind rates around them and determine an attack in their blind spot but Y/n does this on a much larger level.
-They’re a good bit older than their siblings, I’d say around Mako’s age, and we’re the only one of the airbender kids who got to meet Aang- Even if they don’t remember it :’)
-While they’re relationship with Lin is pretty much non existent, they’re very close with Tenzin
-Before having Jinora, Ikki and Meelo with Pema, he would take them on those fun airbending trips that Aang took him on.
-Now I’m not saying Tenzin sometimes forget his own kid is blind but-
-”Look Y/n, there's the Unagi.” “Wow! Awesome! You know what would make this even better, Dad?” “What?” “If I could look.”
-It’s kind of a similar situation to how the Gaang was with Toph, it’s just a thing that slips everyone's minds
-Though on the flip side he can be very doting about it
-”Be careful there's a-” “I know, Dad.” “Watch out for that-” “I know, Dad.” “Do you need help getting-” “No, Dad.”
-There is no in-between
-Honestly Pema, Lin and Toph are probably the only people who dont forget about it sometimes. Jinora, Mako and Asami are pretty good about it thought, just have the occasional slip up.
-”Did you see-” “No.”
-Y/n gives everyone a hard time about it, but it doesn’t actually bother them.
-It’s not really a secret that Lin is their mother, but no one really questions it.
-Until Korra shows up- She questions it
-Her and Mako are like ‘wait a minute’ and put the pieces together pretty quickly.
-One day Korra is practicing airbending with Y/n and is not so casually like “Soooo… Lin.” and they’re just confused “What about Lin?”
-Korra isn’t even subtle about it and blurts out “She’s your mom, right?!”
-They’re very casually like “Yeah” and continue on with their training. “Oh but don’t tell her or my Dad I know, they don’t know I figured it out yet.”
-Lin totally knows they figured it out, but Tenzin really does have no idea

Huan Beifong x female airbender part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part one here
Part three here
Tagged: @kakashisrighteyeball  because you wanted more Huan ;)
-----
After weeks of awkwardness, Wei and Wing’s meddling and your father’s unprovoked attack of Huan, the two of you finally start dating....
Your first date with Huan was a resounding success and from them on you were both constantly travelling between Zafou and Republic City for more. When you came to Zafou Su was fine with you staying in their home but your father was not as progressive and so Huan was forced to find other arrangements when visiting Republic City. Huan startled his aunt Lin by basically showing up on her doorstep one day, calling payment for 18 years of ignoring his existence. Huan was never one to seek people out or force them to let him live there but when it came to you he was very determined and so even Lin Beifong couldn’t deter him.
The Beifongs were all amused by your effect on Huan and Su soon learnt that if she wanted Huan to do something she just had to incorporate you into the situation.
"Huan theres an event i need you to attend...". "No". "You can bring y/n". "Fine".
"Huan your father needs your help". "No". "If you help him you can go to the fire nation and visit y/n this summer". "Okay".
"Huan i need you to...". "No". "If you do i’ll let you invite y/n over the week Wing and Wei are away". "Deal".
You became her favourite barganing chip and as much as Huan knew what his mother was doing he didn’t care. The benefits of seeing you outweighed any chore or social event she required of him. But it wasn’t that Huan had become weak or whipped, nor had his personality changed. Instead it was small behavioural changes. Like how Huan walked or sat in a room. We was still introvereted and quiet but they all noticed how much his confidence has grown. He was confident in his differences now and didn’t take offence to their confusion with his “oddities”. You’d encouraged him to try things he didn’t think of and the permanent stream of positivity and support seemed to make Huan thrive.
A great example of this was the event Huan was hosting in Republic City. You had managed to convince Huan to show some of his works in Republic City for a charity event. You told him it was for a great cause (refugees from harmonic convergence) and would boost his artistic repuation. So Huan agreed to host the event and auction off some of his best pieces of work (but of course not the painting he made for you). You were so excited for the reception you knew Huan’s art would get and helped in any way you could. Tenzin, Korra, Suyin and (reluctantly) your father all put togther their contacts meaning the event was fully booked and you just knew everyone would love Huans work. But you also knew Huan wasn’t as thrilled as you...he was a nervous wreck to put it accurately. Half the appeal of becoming an artist was he couldn’t be judged by objective measures and an exhibition put him right in the centre of critique from all of the four nations and that thought did not thrill Huan.
Needless to say the closer the event got the more stressed Huan became and the journey over to Republic City from Zafou was not pretty. According to Wing he didn’t stop shouting and snapping at everyone until he saw got off the airship and saw you. Then he mellowed and they were all very annoyed you hadn’t been invited for the journey. Unsuprisingly you were enthusiastically invited to the hotel suite to spend the day with the Biefongs before the event later that evening. You knew you were mainly just there as a destressor for Huan but you didn’t mind, you’d gotten him into this so you had to help get him through it.
You lounged around with Huan for the remainder of the day, just trying to take his mind off the event later but it was honestly an amazing day. You loved just spending time together and didn’t get many opportunities living so far away from each other so you royally made the most of it. However, your lazy day did have to end as the event crept closer and you had to leave to go prepare for it.  You told Huan and he sighed "but it's still hours away, you don’t have to go just yet...". You smirked "i know what you're trying, we're not procrastinating, i'm going to go get ready and you’re going to start getting ready when i leave and then i will see you there". Huan rolled his eyes but nodded "okay". "I'll try and get their early but the whole families coming so I will definitely be late but i just wanted to tell you how proud of you i am". Huan blushed, he still hadn’t gotten used to you being so open about your feelings and praise. He tried to look away but you pulled him hands to make him look at you. Huan still tried to turn away and a tug war ensued and ended up with you yanked beside him on the sofa laughing. "Huan i will pin you down if i have to”" you cried but Huan only smiled "fine by me". You rolled your eyes but still smiled brightly at him "You will do brilliantly okay? Everyone who's coming is going to see how amazing you are and you're going to get recognition for all your hard work". Huan sighed but you could see the hope in his eyes "fine okay". You smiled and looked at him "i know part of you is slightly excited". Huan shook his head "not really". You kissed him suprising him and Huan started to kiss you back when you pulled away "admit you’re excited or i'll never kiss you again". "Y/n" Huan groaned but you smirked "say it!". "Fine i'm excited" he sighed and you grinned. You went to get up but Huan grabbed you lightly "hey wait i did it! You have to kiss me! That's the rules". "I didn't say right away" you smirked and Huan raised an eyebrow. You wriggled out of his arms but Huan followed you. He knew you could easily overpower him or use bending if you wanted to get away from him but you clearly didn't want that. You outmaneuvered Huan for a short while before conveniently falling back into his grasp, laughing as Huan managed to grab you. He finally had you *trapped* on the sofa and smirked down at you "going to kiss me now?". "Fine" you sighed rolling your eyes in an imitation of him before bobbing your head up to kiss him happily. Huan had never really cared about relationships or affection until he met you. He always found it disgusting seeing couples kiss but when it was you and him it was just amazing. You broke away from the kiss after a while and Huan sighed. "I really have to go" you told him and Huan sighed "five more minutes". "No" you giggled pushing him off you "i'll see you at the party" and with a last smile you were gone.
5 hours later
Hours and numerous bribes (to make Ikki and Jinora stopping arguing just so you could get them both out of the door) later your whole family plus the avatar  arrived at the hall where Huan's event was. You made sure your outfit was still presentable and entered the hall. You'd chosen a green dress the exact shade of the streak in Huan's hair. It had taken you and Asami hours to find it but when you did you were so pleased and Huan’s reaction made it all worth it. When you finally entered Huan was talking with some nobel man but stopped mid sentence catching sight of you. Korra smirked noticing and you blushed shooting Huan a smile. As soon as he could Huan made his way over to you "you look beautiful" he smiled and you nodded "so do you". Huan was in an all black suit and looked so smart. "Very handsome" you smiled and Huan blushed. "The green was a suprise?" he commented and you smirked "i’m glad you like it, it took me ages to find this exact shade too but you're worth it". Huan smiled, he wanted to kiss you but knew everyone was watching him which mean he probably shouldn’t. "So how's it going?" you asked taking his arm. He smiled "actually pretty good, some men your father knows from the fire nation might be interested in purchasing some sculptures for the capital". You nodded "they would look good in the fire nation, they're very fire-esc". Huan grinned and you heard a cough. You turned around and felt Huan tense at who was infront of you. “General Iroh” you smiled recognising the close friend of your father “I’m so glad you could attend”. Iroh smiled back “of course, Bumi has been talking non stop about this Huan person, so when I heard you were having an exibition I had to come”. “Thank you sir” Huan nodded to him, a little stunned the future fire lord had actually turned up. Huan seemed to be momentarily struggling with words so you took over the conversation. “Are you enjoying yourself so far? What do you think of the art?” you asked and Huan tensed even more. Iroh frowned “well you know y/n were not great appreciators of art in the fire nation, so I have to admit my opinion is only that of a rookie but I am honestly very impressed” Iroh grinned and Huan raised an eyebrow “you are?”. Iroh nodded “this new art is so fresh and un-fire nation I think it’s exactly what we need, a fresh perspective” Iroh nodded and Huan nodded back “wow that’s...thank you”. You grinned at Huan’s adorable reaction to praise of his work and held his arm tighter. “Now like I said I won’t pretend to be an expert but maybe you could indulge me” Iroh went on “what was your thought process for the harmonic convergence pieces?". You watched Huan relax, now in his favourite domain, as he begun to explain his process to Iroh. The more he spoke about his art the more enthusiastic he became, the colour coming back to his cheeks as he proudly discussed his work. You were with the future fire lord but you couldn’t stop staring at your boyfriend and how amazing and adorable he was.
3 hours later
Huan switched the lights to his room on and with a dramatic sigh collapsed on the sofa “that was nice but i’m done being social for a while”. You laughed but totally agreed, Huan desereved all the time off he wanted after the success he just had. Every single one of his pieces had sold raising a huge amount for the refugees.. Huan’s name had been thoroughly publicised and you figured everyone in the art world would know who he was now. He was bound to get an influx of attention and projects soon so for now he deserved to rest. Huan’s family were back in the living room celebrating but Huan was socalised out so you happily retreated into his room with him. Huan had his eyes closed, savouring the wonderful silence and you smiled down at him. You brushed a piece of hair out of his face and admired his content expression. Huan’s olive eyes flickered open and he smiled pulling you to lay beside him. He turned on his side to face you and you felt him watching you. You suspected he was thinking of how to tell you something. Huan sometimes struggled expressing hismelf verbally so you’d learnt to just give him time and not to rush him. “Thank you” Huan said suddenly and you paused “for what?”. Huan tutted “where do i start? For organising this whole thing, for using your contacts to get everyone from water tribe inventors to fire nation royalty to come, for encouraging me” he trailed off “I never imagined I could do something like this but you just...had this faith in me”. “Of course I did” you smiled “you’re the most talented man I know! I knew that from when I first saw you and now everyone knows it!”. Huan blushed bashfully so you saved him the effort of a response and kissed him softly. Huan wasn’t one for overly aggresive or full on affection but that was just fine with you. You liked the soft sweet kisses better than the dominant harsh ones and Huan seemed to agree. He blinked dazed as you pulled away and you smiled at him “plus you don’t need to thank me, i’d do anything for you”. Huan believed you, that wasn’t just an empty promise, you really meant it and he knew you truly would do anything as long as it made him happy. He also knew he’d do the exact same for you and was thinking of a way to put it into words when there was a knock on his door.
"Huan y/n’s father is downstairs waiting to walk her home" his aunt Lin called through the door and Huan sighed “I don’t want you to go”. “Me either” you agreed and Huan pouted "I wish you could just stay over". You smiled but blushed "me too but I don’t think telling my dad i’ll be spend the night at yours would go down well". Huan sighed but knew you were right so nodded. You got off the sofa and he followed. "I’ll walk you out". You smiled as he led your downstairs to the lobby where your father was waiting. "Sir" Huan nodded and your father nodded stiffly before pausing "congratulations tonight kid". Huan smiled "thank you". You smiled watching them and stepped beside your father. "Well we should be going, goodnight Huan and well done again" you smiled hugging him tightly "i knew you could do it". Huan was blushing as you pulled away but he smiled "thank y/n". You grinned to see his smile and then followed your dad out of the building.
1 day later
The next day the house was uncharacteristically quiet due to all the excitement the night before. You were in the kitchen with Pema, everyone else dotted through the house in varying stages of wakefulness, when you heard someone yelling your name. You heard the noise getting closer and stepped outside to see Huan running up the path. "Huan?" You smiled, he'd never been to air temple island before so this was a nice suprise. You were just thinking about what part of the island you’d love to show him first when Huan burst with his news. "Y/n look what came this morning" Huan cried, unbothered as a small crowd of your family gathered upon hearing an event unfolding. Huan passed you an envelope and you carefully took out the letter within. It was the finest paper you’d ever felt and the colour such a deep red you should’ve guessed which nation it was from. When you read the letter you almost dropped it in suprise “Huan!”. “I know” he cried as you wrapped him in a giant hug. “Well we don’t know so mind telling us?” Bolin called. "The firelord wants Huan to design some artwork for her palace". The others all exploded into sounds of suprise and cheers but Huan didn’t even notice them. "Iroh Junior must’ve told her about it and now she wants to meet me and have me comission something! Y/n this is all because of you". "No it's not" you pushed him "Huan this is you, all you! This is because you're an amazing artist". Huan blushed but didn’t refuse the compliment which you saw as progress. "She wants to meet with me personally! Y/n will you come with me?" Huan asked "i’ve never been to the fire nation let alone the palace". You nodded "of course! You can stay at our home and we can tour all the city! Huan you're going to love it! You can even stay in our guest room as long as you need!" you were offering when you heard a cough. You turned to see your father stood right behind you an unimpressed look on his face at your offer and paused. "Ow i mean...dad can Huan please stay with us?". Bumi raised an eyebrow before nodding "yes i suppose so". You were both suprised at that and you flung your arms around your dad "thanks dad you're the best!". "Yes well don't make me regret it" he said trying to be stern. Boomi had tried being the stern authoritarian parent but he much more prefered to see you happy than upset, so found it hard to pretend to be serious. He didn't really worry about Huan staying at your home, he trusted you and so he trusted this boy. He just had to act stern to keep Huan on his toes for a while longer....then he could admit he actually liked the boy and approved of this match.
Bumi smiled watching you animatedly tell Huan every single sight you were going to show him in the fire nation and his smile grew at how bewildered Huan clearly was but how he was nodding along for your benefit. Bumi could see how much Huan adored you and decided losing you to him would be okay, if you had to grow up and start dating someone he was glad it was Huan Beifong.
______
I was so pleasantly suprised by how many Huan fans there are out there! He is definitely the most under-rated Beifong so this is for Huan rights!!!
I might do a part 3 with them actually going to the fire nation, meeting Izumi etc  but i’ll see :)

For the Spotify writing could you do 50 for Korra
ms. california - korra x reader
Tumblr media
pairing: korra x reader (gender neutral)
wc: 1.8k
notes/warnings: nothing here folks :)
i love your voice but hate the way, you talk of her consistently
you heard the boats coming in before you saw them, you heard the cheers erupting from a small crowd that had formed around the south pole’s dock, all flocking to catch a glimpse of their avatar coming home. while everyone’s excitement stemmed from seeing what was essentially a hero, you were just excited to finally see your oldest friend whom you hadn’t seen since she had left to go back to republic city after spending time healing with master katara in the south pole.
excitement cursed through your veins at the prospect of seeing your best friend after years of being separated as you ran to mix in with the crowd of natives welcoming one of their own home.
your heart swelled once you finally spotted her, standing proudly at the front of the ship, her mother placed right next to her as they both waved at the crowd. you noticed her newly cut hair that you had only seen in recent varrick industries movers, it looked even better on her in person.
you pushed your way through the crowd, excusing yourself as you bumped into several people, most of them unphased as they kept their gaze on the master of all four elements. you didn’t stop moving until you found yourself next to tonraq, a man who had served as almost a second father to you ever since you were a toddler. your father being one of the water bending masters that kept an eye on korra growing up, meaning you grew up alongside her at the white lotus compound.
“hey y/n, excited?” the chief asked as soon as he noticed your presence next to him, keeping his eyes on his daughter that was fast approaching.
“yes sir.” cheers got louder as the boat finally stopped, chief tonraq invited you to join him as he walked towards the boat, the guards he had enlisted letting you pass in order to join him.
when your eyes met here as she started coming down, you felt a smile grow on your features as you watched her face mirror yours, two old friends finally reuniting.
unexpectedly, korra picked up the pace and wrapped you in a hug as soon as she got near you, taking you by surprise.
“i missed you.” she exclaimed as you were returning it, happy to once again be in her arms. her large coat was soft to the touch but she smelled rather foreign, most likely due to the fact that was living in a bustling city. the sound of her voice was something you didn’t expect to miss so much but now that you finally heard it for the first time in months, you didn’t want to ever go without it again.
“missed you too.” you squeeze her slightly before you two finally broke apart, grins still on your faces as you both eyes each other up and down in order to see if there were any noticeable changes in each other’s appearance.
a little later during the day, after following korra revisit her home town you ended up having dinner at her childhood home. swapping not only childhood stories but also catching up on the things you had missed and that’s when when you found out about her.
one question was asked and suddenly, that’s all korra could talk about, all of her recent experiences being completely thrown out the window to talk about things her girlfriend, asami, had been doing, how her company was doing, some new invention she had come up with in the later hours of the night, a funny thing she had said, everything that was coming out of the avatar’s mouth had something to do with her.
you tried your hardest to engage in the conversation, finding your heart melt at how she talked about asami with so much love and amazement. her eyes sparkled in a way you had never seen them and you felt your heart sting a bit knowing that she’d never talk about you that way, that her eyes would never lit up at the sheer mention of your name. after a couple of minutes of enduring it, you retracted to your own thoughts, letting tonraq and senna interact with their daughter.
but every time you say her name, it honestly kills me
to help digest your food, and because korra insisted she wanted to, you both went on a walk after you finished eating some delicious homemade noodles. the cold didn’t both you as much as you were bundled under your coat, happy to find that outside the sky was clear, no signs of a snow storm in sight.
“sorry, i talked a lot back there.” she immediately said once she stepped out of her home to join you, excusing herself for being the center of attention at her own celebratory dinner.
“you realise that you haven’t been home in ages, and you’re the avatar, you’re the only one with any real stories to tell.” you joked as you started leading her in a random direction, knowing the whole area like the back of your hand meant that no matter where you two went, you wouldn’t get lost.
“come on, life here isn’t that boring.” she laughed lightly at your comment, following you closely so she wouldn’t get lost.
“you’d be surpised.” she rolled her eyes, not believing for one second that her best friend who always loved to live life to the fullest was admitting to living such a monotonous one.
“my dad told me you started teaching people waterbending which means you’re a real master now, that’s cool!” she nudged you lightly, causing a small smile to tug at your lips at the compliment on the full mastering of your skill, something that you were incredibly proud of.
“yeah, it’s not what i plan to do forever but it’s fun.” you shrugged your shoulders slightly before you two fell into a comfortable silence, the only sound between you being the trudging of your boots in the snow and the usual night sounds.
“but i could totally beat your ass, water or all elements, you don’t stand a chance.” you spoke up defiantly while simultaneously holding a joking tone in your words making her stop in her tracks.
“is that so? i’d love to see it.” she placed her hands on her hips as her eyes jokingly narrowed in your direction, thankfully you were still close enough to people’s houses to have some light letting you see her hilarious facial expression that looked identical to the one she used to wear when she was younger.
“how about tomorrow? we can even invite your parents so they see how weak the avatar actually is.” you teased as you suddenly felt the snow beneath your feet shift, causing you to fall backwards. quickly reacting, you brought snow up around the both of your arms to propel yourself forward, directing the snow directly at your friend as soon as your feet were flat on the ground.
korra brought her arms up to stop the snow from hitting her before letting it go limp and drop the ground.
“damnit, i would’ve loved to catch you off guard.” she whined, finally walking up to you after having let you walk by yourself a short distance.
“korra, you called me a master not two seconds ago, did you not think i’d be able to react to that?”
“listen, i didn’t think this through.” she rose her hands up in defence as you laughed, shaking your head at how much your friend could be idiotic when she wanted to.
“no kidding.” your comment earned a gust of air being bent in your face, causing your hood to fly backwards and your face going cold.
you narrowed your eyes at her as she simply stuck her tongue out childishly, causing you to laugh at how immature she was.
“i sure hope your city friends also get to deal with this side of you, would be a shame if they didn’t.” you managed to say once your laughter died down, being met with playfully offended avatar with her arms crossed as she observed you laughing with a quirked eyebrow.
“actually, asami says i’m pretty mature.” she stated matter of factly and you felt your happiness falter slightly at the mention of her girlfriend, wishing you could just go back to five minutes ago when you weren’t reminded of the fact that korra was living a completely different life to yours, one that didn’t involve spending it with you but with some supposed beautiful and genius inventor.
she's your girl, she's in all your pictures. california girl, i wish i was her
the following day, after tiring each other out sparring, you both headed back to her house as she mentionned wanting to show you some pictures she had of her life in republic city. you had barely seen certain staples of it like air temple island and the aang statue inside of books but never anything more.
“this is the spirit portal in the middle of the city.” you had seen numerous times the southern portal but there was something about the new one that made it stand out, while trying to figure it out, you spotted her, tall, long black hair, looking adoringly at korra who was talking to some officiel and you knew right then and there that was asami.
as korra showed you pictures of the pro bending arena, more in depth ones of air temple island, the spirit vines and in practically all of them you could see her, her whole presence seemed elegant, you could tell why korra had fallen for her.
when you're gone, she sleeps in your t-shirts
“shit i forgot my shirt.” korra mumbled as she frantically searched through the bag for her night shirt as you watched her from the other side of the room.
“don’t you have some here?” you suggested, looking around her room to maybe see one laying around but you knew that senna kept the room nice and tidy while her daughter was away.
“probably, hopefully asami is making use of it.” korra shrugged her shoulders before abandoning her bag on the ground, making her way to her crate where she kept all of her older clothes, grabbing the first one that came in between her fingers before facing you again, excited to have a sleepover like you always used to have.
“yeah, hopefully.” you mumbled, staring at the small fire that korra had lit for extra warmth, wishing that maybe in another life you weren’t just korra’s childhood friend, maybe you two actually got together, maybe if you had followed her to republic city instead of staying home afraid of being reprimanded by your parents for disobeying orders, maybe everything would’ve been different.
it hurts, i wish i was her, ms california.

humaniterations (dot) net/2014/10/13/an-anarchist-perspective-on-the-red-lotus/ this article from oct 2014 is very dense — truly, a lot to unpack here, but I feel like you would find this piece interesting. I would love it if you shared your thoughts on the points that stood out to you, whether you agree or disagree. you obv don’t have to respond to it tho, but I’m sending it as an ask jic you feel like penning (and sharing) a magnificent essay, as is your wont 💕
article
i know this took me forever 2 answer SORRY but i just checked off all the things on my to do list for the first time in days today so. Essay incoming ladies!
ok im SO glad u sent me this bc it’s so so good. it’s a genuinely thoughtful criticism of the politics in legend of korra (altho i think its sometimes a little mean to korra unnecessarily like there’s no reason to call her a “petulant brat” or say that she throws tantrums but i do understand their point about her being an immature and reactionary hero, which i’ll get back to) and i think the author has a good balance between acknowledging like Yeah the lok writers were american liberals and wrote their show accordingly and Also writing a thorough analysis of lok’s politics that felt relevant and interesting without throwing their hands up and saying this is all useless liberal bullshit (which i will admit that i tend to do).
this article essentially argues that the red lotus antagonists of s3 were right. And that’s not an uncommon opinion i think but this gives it serious weight. Like, everything that zaheer’s gang did was, in context, fully understandable. of course the red lotus would be invested in making sure that the physically and spiritually and politically most powerful person in the world ISNT raised by world leaders and a secret society of elites that’s completely unaccountable to the people! of course the red lotus wants to bring down tyrannical governments and allow communities to form and self govern organically! and the writers dismiss all of that out of hand by 1. consistently framing the red lotus as insane and murderous (korra never actually gives zaheer’s ideas a chance or truly considers integrating them into her own approach) 2. representing the death of the earth queen as not just something that’s not necessarily popular (what was with mako’s bootlicker grandma, i’d love to know) but as something that causes unbelievable violence and chaos in ba sing se (which, like, a lot of history and research will tell you that people in disasters tend towards prosocial behaviors). so the way the story frames each of these characters and ideologies is fascinating because like. if you wanted to write season 3 of legend of korra with zaheer as the protagonist and korra as the antagonist, you wouldn’t actually have to change the sequence of events at all, really. these writers in particular and liberal writers in general LOVE writing morally-gray-but-ultimately-sympathetic characters (like, almost EVERY SINGLE fire nation character in the first series, who were full on violent colonizers but all to a degree were rehabilitated in the eyes of the viewer) but instead of framing the red lotus as good people who are devoted to justice and freedom and sometimes behave cruelly to get where theyre trying to go, they frame them as psychopaths and murderers who have good intentions don’t really understand how to make the world a better place.
and the interesting thing about all this, about the fact that the red lotus acted in most cases exactly as it should have in context and the only reason its relegated to villain status is bc the show is written by liberals, is that the red lotus actually points out really glaring sociopolitical issues in universe! like, watching the show, u think well why the fuck HASN’T korra done anything about the earth queen oppressing her subjects? why DOESN’T korra do anything about the worse than useless republic president? why the hell are so many people living in poverty while our mains live cushy well fed lives? how come earth kingdom land only seems to belong to various monarchs and settler colonists, instead of the people who are actually indigenous to it? the show does not want to answer these questions, because american liberal capitalism literally survives on the reality of oppressive governments and worse than useless presidents and people living in poverty while the middle/upper class eats and indigenous land being stolen. if the show were to answer these questions honestly, the answer would be that the status quo in real life (and the one on the show that mirrors real life) Has To Change.
So they avoid answering these questions honestly in order for the thesis statement to be that the status quo is good. and the only way for the show to escape answering these questions is for them to individualize all these broad social problems down into Good people and Bad people. so while we have obvious bad ones like the earth queen we also have all these capitalists and monarchs and politicians who are actually very nice and lovely people who would never hurt anyone! which is just such an absurd take and it’s liberal propaganda at its best. holding a position of incredible political/economic power in an unjust society is inherently unethical and maintaining that position of power requires violence against the people you have power over. which is literally social justice 101. but there’s literally no normal, average, not-politically-powerful person on the show. so when leftist anarchism is presented and says that destroying systems that enforce extreme power differentials is the only way to bring peace and freedom to all, the show has already set us up to think, hey, fuck you, top cop lin beifong and ford motor ceo asami sato are good people and good people like them exist! and all we have to do to move forward and progress as a society is to make sure we have enough good individuals in enough powerful positions (like zuko as the fire lord ending the war, or wu as the earth king ending the monarchy)! which is of course complete fiction. liberal reform doesn’t work. but by pretending that it could work by saying that the SYSTEM isnt rotten it’s just that the people running it suck and we just need to replace those people, it automatically delegitimizes any radical movements that actually seek to change things.
and that’s the most interesting thing about this article to me is that it posits that the avatar...might actually be a negative presence in the world. the avatar is the exact same thing: it’s a position of immense political and physical power bestowed completely randomly, and depending on the moral character and various actions of who fills that position at any given time, millions of people will or won’t suffer. like kyoshi, who created the fascist dai li, like roku, who refused to remove a genocidal dictator from power, like aang, who facilitated the establishment of a settler colonial state on earth kingdom land. like korra! she’s an incredibly immature avatar and a generally reactionary lead. i’ve talked about this at length before but she never actually gets in touch with the needs of the people. she’s constantly running in elite circles, exposed only to the needs and squabbles of the upper class! how the hell is she supposed to understand the complexities of oppression and privilege when she was raised by a chess club with inordinate amounts of power and associates almost exclusively with politicians and billionaires?? from day 1 we see that she tends to see things in very black and white ways which is FINE if you’re a privileged 17 yr old girl seeing the world for the first time but NOT FINE if you’re the single most powerful person in the world! Yeah, korra thinks the world is probably mostly fine and just needs a little whipping into shape every couple years, because all she has ever known is a mostly fine world! in s1 when mako mentions that he as a homeless impoverished teenager worked for a gang (which is. Not weird. Impoverished people of every background are ALWAYS more likely to resort to socially unacceptable ways of making money) korra is like “you guys are criminals?????!!!!!” she was raised in perfect luxury by a conservative institution and just never developed beyond that. So sure, if the red lotus raised her anarchist, probably a lot would’ve been different/better, but....they didn’t. and korra ended up being a reactionary and conservative avatar who protected monarchs and colonialist politicians. The avatar as a position is completely subject to the whims of whoever is currently the avatar. and not only does that suck for everyone who is not the avatar, not only is it totally unfair to whatever kid who grows up knowing the fate of the world is squarely on their shoulders, but it as a concept is a highly individualist product of the authors’ own western liberal ideas of progress! the idea that one good leader can fix the world (or should even try) based on their own inherent superiority to everyone else is unbelievably flawed and ignores the fact that all real progress is brought about as a result of COMMUNITY work, as a result of normal people working for themselves and their neighbors!
the broader analysis of bending was really interesting to me too, but im honestly not sure i Totally agree with it. the article pretty much accepts the show’s assertion that bending is a privilege (and frankly backs it up much better than the original show did, but whatever), and i don’t think that’s NECESSARILY untrue since it is, like, a physical advantage (the author compares it to, for example, the fact that some people are born athletically gifted and others are born with extreme physical limitations), but i DO think that it discounts the in universe racialization of bending. in any sequel to atla that made sense, bending as a race making fact would have been explored ALONGSIDE the physical advantages it bestows on people. colonialism and its aftermath is generally ignored in this article which is its major weakness i think, especially in conjunction with bending. you can bring up the ideas the author did about individual vs community oriented progress in the avatar universe while safely ignoring the colonialism, but you can’t not bring up race and colonialism when you discuss bending. especially once you get to thinking about how water/earth/airbenders were imprisoned and killed specifically because bending was a physical advantage, and that physical advantage was something that would have given colonized populations a means of resistance and that the fire nation wanted to keep to itself.
i think that’s the best lens thru which to analyze bending tbh! like in the avatar universe bending is a tool that different ethnic groups tend to use in different ways. at its best, bending actually doesn’t represent social power differences (despite representing a physical power difference) because it’s used to represent/maintain community solidarity. like, take the water tribe. katara being the last waterbender, in some way, makes her the last of a part of swt CULTURE. the implication is that when there were a lot of waterbenders in the south, they dedicated their talents to building community and helping their neighbors, because this was something incredibly culturally important and important to the water tribe as a community. the swt as a COLLECTIVE values bending for what it can do for the entire tribe, which counts for basically every other talent a person can have (strength, creativity, etc). the fire nation, by contrast, distorts the community value of bending by racializing it: anyone who bends an element that isn’t fire is inherently NOT fire nation (and therefore inherently inferior) and, because of the physical power that bending confers, anyone who bends an element that isn’t fire is a threat to fire nation hegemony. and in THAT framework of bending, it’s something that intrinsically assigns worth and reifies race in a way that’s conveniently beneficial to the oppressor.
it IS worth talking about how using Element as a way to categorize people reifies nations, borders, and race in a way that is VERY characteristic of white american liberals. i tried to be conscious of that (and the way that elements/bending can act in DIFFERENT ways, depending on cultural context) but i think it’s pretty clear that the writers did intend for element to unequivocally signify nation (and, by extension, race), which is part of why they screwed up mixed families so bad in lok. when they’ve locked themselves into this idea that element=nation=race, they end up with sets of siblings like mako and bolin or kya tenzin and bumi, who all “take” after only one parent based on the element that they bend. which is just completely stupid but very indicative of how the writers actually INTENDED element/bending to be a race making process. and its both fucked up and interesting that the writers display the same framework of race analysis that the canonical antagonists of atla do.
anyway that’s a few thoughts! thank u again for sending the article i really loved it and i had a lot of fun writing this <3

Find out for yourselves! Set after Ruins of the Empire.
Kuvira X Reader - The Christmas Conundrum Part I
It was the most wonderful time of the year. You watched the citizens of Zaofu go about their day preparing for Christmas. Decorations lined every street corner and shops, garland decorated every lamp post, and colorful lights glimmered in every snow-covered pine tree. You clung to your coat tightly, feeling a cold breeze blow past you as snow drifted down from the sky coating the land in a serene winter ambiance.  Yes, it was the most wonderful time of the year, but not for everyone…especially not for Kuvira.
Since the reunification process and the downfall of the earth empire, things have not been easy for the former great uniter. From the time the two of you were put on house arrest under the care of Suyin Beifong, the transition from total freedom to full restriction has been a very troubling and taxing situation for the both of you. The relationship between Kuvira and Suyin was very rocky but both seem to have come to some sort of common ground. Though Suyin and Kuvira had gotten better and the two seemed to have learned to be cordial around each other didn’t mean that the two were fully amended. The relationship was far from what one would call normal. Suyin and Kuvria would still interact in a way that was very awkward or tense. Almost as if they were both walking on a very cold and thin layer of ice. Regardless, you remained by her side since the very beginning and nothing has changed since the day you joined her cause. You loved her, and no matter what the two of you have been through over the years, nothing has changed.
It was the first time in three years Kuvira had been back with the Beifongs for Christmas. Suyin, a person who was always known for her grand gestures decided to host a celebration for the upcoming holidays. Suyin had taken it upon herself to send out invitations to almost anyone who was a close friend of the matriarch including her half-sister Lin Beifong. You expected Avatar Korra and her girlfriend, the Future Industry CEO Asami Sato to make an appearance as well. This celebration would certainly be very interesting, you thought to yourself growing increasingly worried about what tonight’s events would have in store for you.
You were both welcomed back to the Beifong household and given personal invites from Suyin herself for tonight’s event. You were grateful for the invite knowing full well that Suyin was doing her best to offer an olive branch but you couldn’t help but wonder what her intentions were. As the hours grew close you felt the dread building up inside you that grew stronger as time passed. You knew you were both in for an awkward situation and wouldn’t be surprised if tonight’s events would be emotionally draining on both you and Kuvira. You began to mentally steel yourself for tonight’s events, hoping and praying that everything went smoothly.
When you returned to the Beifong estate you immediately noticed the change in the atmosphere from its usual peaceful operations to the frantic movements and panic as both guards and servants shuffled past you in a hurry. You assumed the Beifong household servants and guards were bustling about getting ready for the party. You walked past the entrance hall, heading towards the parlor.  You paused as an orderly carrying a large box nearly knocked into you. Quickly, you stepped aside to allow them room to slip past you. After the orderly mumbled an apology before rushing away you proceeded to enter the parlor. At the center of the chaos stood the matriarch of the clan herself Suyin Beifong.
Suyin stood at the foot of a tall pine tree with her back to you as she mulled over the tree’s decorations. You approached the matriarch carefully, watching as Suyin used her metal bending to put up last-minute decorations on the tree.
You stood quietly behind Suyin watching her use her bending to take out a large metal star from a colorful box. Suyin held it in the air and turned her attention back to the tree, looking it over carefully. You eyed the star, astonished by its beauty. The design was simple yet elegant. With unique carvings that covered the entire surface of the star and jewels that lined the outer edge. At the very center of it was a star-shaped ruby. It seemed to glisten from the Christmas lights that were wrapped around the branches of the tree. Suyin hoisted it up higher in the air, playing with the weight of it as she maneuvered it up to the top. Very gently and with much concentration she settled it at the very top of the tree, carefully setting it down and making sure the branches would hold its weight. Once she was convinced that the decorative piece was secure Suyin released it from her hold, letting her arm fall to her waist.  It was quite a sight to see, just admiring the beauty of the tree put you more in the Christmas spirit that was almost nonexistent up until now.
You took a step forward to get a better look at the decorations. The gold garland that wrapped around the tree made the Scarlet and gold ornaments appear vibrant. Silver metal candy canes and pine cones also hung from its branches. The metal was smooth and reflective causing the ornaments to sparkle from the nearby Christmas lights. It was breathtaking, there were no other words to describe it.
“It’s so beautiful…” You said out loud, not hearing yourself speak. You watched as the matriarch flinched from your words, turning quickly on her heels to meet your gaze that was still fixated on the tree. It seemed the older woman was not aware of your presence despite her seismic abilities.
“Oh, Y/N!” Suyin said, pressing a hand to her chest to ease her already fried nerves. “I didn’t hear you come in.”
You turned to address the matriarch, noticing how she looked a little worn and weary. You assumed the stress was caused by the intense preparation of tonight's events and believed it was beginning to eat away at her. That was Suyin. If it wasn’t up to her standards then it just wasn’t worth it. You had to give the older woman props, the amount of time, effort, and dedication she put towards her projects were quite impressive. Accepting only the very best and nothing less than that. It’s no wonder Kuvira was so dedicated and hardworking. Suyin must have pushed her hard as her protégé. It made you wonder what life was really like for Kuvira growing up. Up to this point, you only heard the few scant stories that Kuvira had shared with you.
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to startle you.” You quickly cut in after realizing you were staring. “I was just watching you put up the decorations and I have to say the tree looks marvelous!”
At this Suyin breathed a deep sigh. Detecting an undertone of worry, you couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at the older woman. “Is everything ok?”
“With me yes, everything is fine but I can’t help but worry about…” Suyin trailed off, causing you to stare at her with brows knitted in concern.
“Worry about...what?” You pressed, genuinely curious.
“Well... worried about getting everything prepared for tonight before my guests arrive. there are still some things I need to address such as the menu and the entertainment. Lin should have been here already, but her travels were delayed from the approaching snowstorm. So she said she will be here in a few hours.” Suyin sighed at the unfortunate news. She hoped that the storm wasn't too serious but knew Lin could take care of herself. In an attempt to take her mind off her stress she diverted the topic. “I hope you and Kuvira will be there.”
You turned to meet the Matriarch eye’s, the exhaustion evident on her features, but you could see the concern she withheld. “I plan on being there, however, I can't say the same for Kuvira…”
Suyin frowned, turning her attention to the tree, her shoulders sagged at your statement, as if your statement confirmed her fears. “I really want Kuvira to be there, it would mean the world to me. But…” Su grew quiet, her sight fixated on the tree.
Despite her appearance, you could see that Suyin’s mind was somewhere else. “Su…?” You said, trying to revert her attention back to the conversation.
Suyin cast her eyes to the ground. You noticed her hesitation to speak. For someone like Suyin, the behavior was rather odd. She was always quick to speak her mind, not caring what people thought about her. It was an admirable trait but also a flaw of hers.
“I am trying Y/N…” Suyin finally spoke after a few moments of silence.
Instinctively you took a step closer to her, careful to keep enough distance so you didn't feel like you were trying to invade her space. It was more out of care and concern than invasive.
“What do you mean?” you asked gently.
Suyin turned to meet your gaze, you could see the confliction flittered across her face as she spoke. “I know Kuvira has never been one for family gatherings. I mean how could she? Just look at what her parents had instilled in her at such a young age… and I’m afraid… I’ve only added to it.” Suyin turned away from you, it seemed that she was too ashamed to even look you in the eyes. “It’s no wonder she doesn't completely hate me… I wouldn’t be surprised if she did...”
You noticed Suyin’s expression hardened, the idea that Kuvira had possible feelings of underlying hatred towards her was eating away at her. Though Suyin was well versed at keeping her emotions in check, the suppressed hurt you saw behind those emerald green eyes betrayed what the older woman was truly feeling and trying to keep hidden.
“Oh, Su… She doesn’t hate you.  How could she? You were the only mother she has ever known.” You said in hopes to help quell her fears. “I know things haven't been easy for the two of you since we were placed under your care to serve our sentences, but hate is not something I think she feels towards you. I just think... these things take time.”
“How could she not!?!” Suyin rounded on you. The action was so abrupt it caused you to take a step back, afraid that your words of comfort had accidentally upset her.  “I had just as much as a part to play in her actions and for what? If I just listened to her and not brush her off… involved her more with the family - treated her more like a daughter?” Su spoke quickly, trying her best to rationalize Kuvira’s behavior and her direct involvement.
“Honestly I think she is angrier at herself at this point.” You spoke up, feeling that it was necessary. “She blames herself for what happened.” It has nothing to do with you.”
“Then why do I get the feeling that it does?” Suyin asked you, trying to make sense of everything.  Her eyes burned with raw emotion. “It's been months since the two of you were brought under my care and yet she is still distant with everyone, including me. She doesn't talk to me the same way she used to. She hardly eats with us, and when she does she doesn’t even bother talking to anyone. I can barely get her to hold a conversation with me that is not related to the weather or how she is doing... I had hoped that by inviting her it would show that I’m trying to reach out to her- that I’m trying to bring her into my family. I just… I don’t know what else to do.” Suyin seemed legitimately distressed as she spoke.
You stepped forward, placing your hand on Suyin’s shoulder, squeezing gently. “It’s not you Su.” You said softly, trying to reassure her that she was not the problem. “Kuvira is at the point where the guilt is just weighing heavy on her.” You paused, taking a moment to ponder how much information you wanted to share without getting too deep into details. You knew Kuvira was rather autonomous and preferred to deal with her own issues herself. You wanted to respect that.
“Kuvira is just caught up in her own emotions. I can barely get her to talk to me so believe me it's not one-sided. She’s…” You trailed off debating whether to tell Suyin or not, hoping the information you were about to share wasn’t too much... You knew if Kuvira was here she would object. At the same time as Kuvira’s guardian, you felt that Suyin needed to know. “Su, She’s… she’s been crying in her sleep… she’s been having nightmares.”
“Kuvira’s having nightmares again?” Suyin interrupted, her eyes widening. You could tell that she wanted to press you for information. You were worried you may have swung open the door for her to do just that. Instead, Suyin pursed her lips and knitted her eyebrows, her eyes searching your face for answers.
“Yes, she has.” You reaffirmed, hoping that she didn’t begin to drill you with questions you knew you couldn’t answer. “I really shouldn’t be sharing this with you but as our guardian, I feel that this was something you should be aware of.”
“No, of course. I’m sorry, I don’t mean to pry. I appreciate you telling me, I just… I’m worried about her.” Said Suyin, doing her best to keep her voice leveled from her growing concern. “She’s had night terrors growing up, mostly about her parents. I didn’t think she still had them.”
“Well she gets them every so often but they have been rather frequent as of late. I have noticed that Kuvira tends to get like this around the holidays.”
“Well, Kuvira has never been fond of the holidays. From what I've noticed over the years they seem to get her depressed. Probably stemming from her abandonment.” Suyin took a deep breath to help her relax before addressing you again, “You don't have to worry Y/N. I won’t tell her anything. You have my word.” Suyin said firmly.
At Suyin’s reassurance, you breathe a sigh of relief, grateful that Su was not being intrusive. “I appreciate that, thank you.”
“I appreciate you being honest with me. You and I both know how Kuvira can be about these things. Though I have noticed that she has been looking rather… exhausted lately. I had asked if everything was ok, but she brushed it off as if it wasn’t anything important. I should have known better… Kuvira has a habit of undermining her problems.”
You couldn’t help but chuckle in agreement, knowing Suyin spoke with such accuracy. “Ain’t that the truth. It would take a rope and a sledgehammer to get anything out of that thick skull of hers. I swear she is so stubborn sometimes.” You shook your head, “I wish she wasn’t though. It’s not helping her and I think deep down she knows that.”
“Please!” Suyin scoffed, fixating you with an annoyed look. “I’ve been trying to break through those platinum metal walls that she surrounds herself with for years. You might as well grab a plasma saw and start drilling with me.” A small smile appeared on Suyin’s lips.
You laughed at Suyin’s statement. You knew it was in jest but had to admit the matriarch’s words held much truth. The sounds of footsteps scurrying in caught both of your attention, you turned around to see a guard rushing in. He stopped abruptly and stood at attention waiting for Suyin to address him.
“Is there something wrong?” Suyin asked the guard with a raised eyebrow.
“Madam Beifong, an airship belonging to the Republic City’s chief of police, has been spotted by the watchtower. Do we have permission to allow them to land?” The guard asked rather stiffly.
Suyin’s eyes lit up. “Lin’s here? I thought she would be longer. Yes, I grant permission. I will be there momentarily to meet with her.”
With that being said the guard saluted before turning on his heel and running back out from the direction he came in from.
“I’m sorry Y/N I have to cut this short. I need to speak with Lin. We have much to catch up on and no doubt she will want a full report on the progress the two of you have been making.”
“Oh, I understand. It’s not a problem. Besides, I need to get back to my quarters to grab a few things. I’ll see how Kuvira is faring.” You reassured Suyin.
“Thank you, Y/N. If you can talk her into coming to the party tonight it would mean the world to me. I want to see the both of you there.” Suyin said lifting her hand and placing it over yours where it rested on her shoulder, giving it a gentle reassuring squeeze.
“I will figure out what to will do with Kuvira. I might try to have a private chat with her over tea or something later when this is all over. I’ll have some chamomile tea brewed for her and sent to her quarters, later on, to help settle her nerves. Hopefully, it will help with the sleep problems for the time being until we find the underlying cause.”
“That sounds like a plan.” You smiled in agreement. You turned to walk away to leave Suyin to meet with the chief of police when a hand shot out to seize yours. You stopped, turning around to see Suyin smiling. “Really, Y/N... Thank you. I appreciate it.”
You nodded your head, feeling Suyin squeeze your arm gently in appreciation before she released you, arm falling back to your side. With that you took your leave, walking back to the living quarters that you shared with Kuvira. You wondered what she was up to. Knowing her probably some rigorous dance routine or bending forms.
When you entered your quarters you found Kuvira standing by the window watching the snow drifting slowly to the ground. When you closed the door you noticed her stiffening but as soon as she heard you announce that you were back you could see her visibly relax. You approached her from behind wondering what she was so focused on. She made no attempt to turn around to address you instead her gaze remained locked on the view outside the window. You breathed in a deep sigh, you hated when she got like this. Kuvira had a habit of retreating into her walls. Even worse into her head, blocking out everything and everyone, including you. Though she was physically here with you, you could tell that her mind was millions of miles away. You often wondered what went through that brain of hers. Her thoughts must have been just as complex as her emotions. It’s no wonder she frowned so much. She must be putting in a lot of mental effort to stonewall her emotions.
She was still in her nightclothes, her hair out of its usual style was tousled and unkept from sleep. It draped over her shoulders and stuck out in some areas. A clear indication that she hadn't bothered fixing it when she woke up. From the looks of things, it appeared as if she just got up moments ago. It made you wonder how long Kuvira had decided to sleep in. It wasn't like her to do so. She preferred to be on top of her rigorous daily routines but with her current behavior and her known issues with night terrors, it wasn't entirely out of the ordinary. I made the concern you managed to keep under wraps grow, mentally processing ways to try to help, but Kuvira was a stubborn one. Opting to deal with her own affairs and problems herself and pushing anyone else who tried to get close away with very few exceptions. You being one of those said exceptions.
“Hey…” You whispered, lifting a hand to place on Kuvira’s shoulder in hopes to snap her out of her trance. “Did you just get up?
You felt Kuvira stiffen under your touch but immediately began to relax. She turned to meet your eyes, noticing your face etched with worry. She sighed deeply, “About a half-hour ago.” Kuvira answered quietly, her voice still raspy from sleep.
You took a moment to study her features, her appearance looked dejected. You saw for yourself how worn and exhausted she looked, taking a mental note on how her eyes were developing dark circles. You swore the bags under her eyes were big enough to hold her dance equipment. It wasn't a good thing, to say the least. This was beginning to become a problem, a problem you would eventually need to figure out how to rectify despite Kuvira’s stubborn nature.
“Did you have another nightmare?” You asked gently.
Kuvira didn't answer you, all but gave you a silent nod in confirmation. Your hand rubbed her shoulder, trailing down the length of Kuvira’s arm, taking hold of her hand and lifting it to your lips to place a gentle kiss on her knuckles. “Do you want to talk about it?” you asked in hopes she would be willing to open up.
“No, I don't. There's no point to... It’s not going to fix anything.”
“Kuvira…” You began, trying to get her not to start minimizing her issues. It was a notorious habit, one that obviously wasn’t helping if her appearance had anything to say about her mental state. “I know that is how you might feel about it, but if there is something troubling you then you need to not keep it bottled up. It’s just going to fester until it starts to manifest itself into other problems.”
Kuvira averted her gaze from you, almost as if she was trying to retreat back into her walls but not entirely. She took a deep breath and exhaled, “I know.”
“If you don’t want to talk to me will you at least talk to someone? Have you tried reaching out to Suyin?”
You felt Kuvira tense at the very mention of the matriarch’s name. She pulled her hand free from your grasp and turned to walk to the kitchen, leaving you without an answer. You stood there baffled, not sure of what to do.
No, I’m not gonna let her brush this off easily. You groaned and began to follow after her. You turned the corner and stepped into the kitchen just as Kuvira closed the cupboard, a mug in hand. She went over to the pot of freshly brewed coffee she had just made moments before your arrival and poured herself a cup. You stood beside her, leaning against the wall waiting for her reply. “Well?”
You watched as she reached for the sugar dispenser and cream,  pouring in a generous amount. She grabbed a spoon and began stirring the contents in the mug. She was clearly trying to avoid your questioning gaze.
“No of course not.” Kuvira finally answered before lifting the mug to her lips and taking a sip. She exhaled into the mug, feeling its warmth spread throughout her body, relaxing her.
“Why not?” You asked, reaching into the cupboard for a mug to pour yourself a cup.
“Why would I?” Kuvira answered dryly. “What happens to me is my problem. Besides, it's not like Suyin cares.”
“Kuvira… You know that’s not true. You know that Suyin cares. Why else would she have welcomed you back home?”
Kuvira shrugged, taking a long drink from her coffee. “Beats me… Probably because Korra and Lin guilt-tripped her into taking me back.”
“Kuvira, She cares about you. How do you not see that? The times she’s asked how you are doing, the random things she has asked for your assistance on, inviting you to dinner? You can't sit there and tell me you haven’t noticed?.”
“What of it? Kuvira said sharply, growing more agitated by the second. “That doesn't mean anything…”
“Well if it didn't mean anything to her then why does she keep doing it? For Spirits sakes Kuvria, Suyin has been trying to reach out to you by offering an olive branch and you are choosing not to reach for it.”
“I don't know why? She didn't care before, why start now? Kuvira asked bitterly.
“You know she does. I think deep down you do too! Su just has a strange way of showing it, and though it may have not always been the right way she is still trying.” You pressed further, not allowing Kuvira to dismiss it as a frivolous matter. “She asked me about you today.”
Kuvira’s eyes lit up as she pulled her mug away from her lips, swallowing the coffee that she held in her mouth hard. “She did?” She asked, surprised by your statement.
You took a drink from your own mug enjoying the taste and the much-needed warmth it brought to you before answering her. “Yes, she did. She hopes to see us both at the gathering tonight. Lin just arrived before I got back.” You paused, hesitant to bring it up Suyin, worried about what her reaction would be. “Suyin asked how you were doing… She’s worried about you.”
Kuvira took a sudden interest in her coffee mug. Scratching at the matte polished surface and swirling the contents with the spoon. She was contemplating this you were sure. If her stoic expression was any proof of that then you were certain. At the very minimum, she was receptive to your suggestions.
“I really don't want to go,” Kuvira whispered. she leaned her head back to down the rest of her coffee. She straightened back up, placing the mug on the counter with a hard thump. “She really wants to see you there. I’ll be attending too so you are not alone in this….” you reassured her.
“It’s not just this party Y/N! It’s more than that. I don’t want to want to pretend everything is normal when it’s clearly not. I know the Beifong’s have said they have forgiven me but I really can’t help but question the validity of that especially the way they act around me. I swear it’s almost like they expect me to do something bad…” Kuvira said, growing more irritated. She could feel herself being overcome with old resentment feeling an unspoken underlying hurt that even she herself wasn't aware was there, but she didn't want to acknowledge it. Doing so would further cause unnecessary tension that she knew would worsen her mood.
The sudden abrupt change in Kuvira’s behavior made you raise a brow. You could tell that the concern she felt was a valid one but you could see there was something more to her words. Something she wasn't speaking out loud almost as if she was avoiding something. You didn't press for an answer that you knew she wasn't ready to discuss, but you didn't want to dismiss her concern as something frivolous. You knew that in a way she was right. Since the two of you had been put under Suyin’s care you noticed how people watched you carefully, almost fearfully. Like a barrel of blasting jelly with a very short fuse. It was to be suspected of course the two of you were war criminals by all counts. Who’s to say either one of you would not revert to your old dogmatic tendencies. You couldn't change the opinions of others, after all, you were a big believer that actions spoke louder than words. You expected to be treated as such once it became known that Suyin would be your guardian and would be aiding in your rehabilitation. Now you had to put much work into proving to the citizens of Zaofu that you were not a threat and that alone took time. You took a long drink from your mug, feeling your expression soften as you contemplated the situation.
“I know…” You whispered softly. “And I know it’s even more difficult for you since you grew up and knew a lot of these people personally, especially the Beifong’s. You have to understand that these things take time.”
“I know… I just thought that my efforts in stopping Guan in Gaoling would have been more than enough to prove that I’m not the same person. That I'm not the Great Uniter any more. I regret how in my conquest for power I lost sight and hurt the ones I cared about… I’m trying to change Y/N… Why can't they see that?” Kuvira said anger flitting over her face as she spoke. What caught your attention were her eyes, you could see the pain she felt in that moment threatening to surface but she wouldn't allow it.
You put the mug you held in your hand down and reached out to her, pulling her close to you.  “I'm not the only one who sees it. Suyin sees it too. As much as you don't believe that to be true, it is. Please... give her a chance. I know it's frustrating but you are not alone in this… You have me…” You gave her a small smile, lifting your hand to cup her face.
Kuvira exhaled sharply, feeling herself relax under your touch despite her frustration. She knew you were right, but it didn't make dealing with the reality of the situation any easier to bear. She leaned into your touch and allowed herself a moment of clarity, knowing full well you were subjected to the same treatment as her. It wasn't easier for either one of you and understood that you both needed each other. She needed to be rational about this and not let her personal feelings get in the way of reason.
“I know…” Kuvira said quietly, thankful for your support despite her stubbornness. “Thank you Y/N. Really, I don't know how you put up with me sometimes…”
You chuckled softly, leaning in to press a kiss to her forehead. “The same way you put up with the Beifong’s.” You pulled away from her and pushed her tousled hair from her face.
Kuvira sighed deeply, finally making up her mind. “Alright, I’ll go. But just so we are clear this was your idea.” She jabbed a finger at you accusingly.
You took hold of her finger and shook it. “Glad we could come to an agreement.” You said, resisting the urge to laugh.
Kuvira pulled herself free from your grasp. Her eyes narrowed, a frown forming on her lips. “Don’t patronize me…”
You scoffed. “Me? Patronize the all-mighty Kuvira? I would never…” You smiled.
Kuvira couldn't help the pout that formed on her lips. You found it so cute when she did, loving her softer side that she kept well hidden from the world but only allowed you to see. It melted your heart into mush.
You lifted and rested both hands on either side of her shoulder. “Why don't you go ahead and take a shower. Start getting ready. We only have a few more hours until we are expected to be there and I have some last-minute gifts to stash under the tree so I need to do that before things get crazier.”
Kuvira nodded in agreement. “Ok.” She whispered softly, pulling away from you. Your hands coming to rest at your side.
She pointed in the direction of the bathroom, gradually walking in that direction. “I’m gonna go shower. I'll see you when you get back.” She said then walked out of the kitchen.
You grabbed your mug from the counter finishing the last of your coffee. Taking Kuvira’s empty mug in hand, you placed them in the sink. When you heard the sound of the bathroom door clicking close and the water turning on gave an indication you were in the clear. Carefully you walked into the bedroom and into the large walk-in closet. You pushed aside boxes and moved around clothed until you found a specific box that was buried under the lot. You pushed that box up to the side and began putting everything you moved back into place. Once finished, you lifted up the medium size box with both hands and walked back out into the bedroom. Taking a seat on the bed you peered into it, noting the number of objects that you had bought for each Beifong including Lin and Kuvira.
You shuffled through the pre-packaged gifts searching for one particular package that you didn't want Kuvira to open in front of the Beifongs. Your fingers closed around a long box. You pulled it free, giving it a quick glance to make sure the wrapping was still intact. You couldn’t suppress the smile that formed on your lips as you studied the box, feeling that familiar tug in your stomach at the idea of using it. You looked over at the closed bathroom door, listening in on Kuvira opening and closing the shower door. You were very tempted but knew it wasn't the right moment. With a small sigh, you leaned over to pull open the drawer to the nightstand, placed the gift quietly inside, and gently slid the drawer closed. Somethings were better to wait for. You hoped Kuvira would like it when the moment was right. The thought alone had you pressing your lips together to subdue your excitement. Yes you decided, there were some things in life worth waiting for and this was one of those things. Pushing the gifts back into the box you stood lifting up the box and left the bedroom, closing the door behind you for good measure. You walked out of the apartment into the cold winter afternoon and headed towards Beifong estate.
Once inside you immediately noticed that the chaos had slowed but not by much. Pushing through a group of servants putting last-minute decorations on the wall, you headed towards the parlor. When you enter you turn to peer around the corner to make sure that the coast is clear before proceeding in.  You approach the foot of the tree, placing the box on the floor and reaching in to pull out presents. You heard shuffling behind you which causes you to peer behind you. You waited a few beats making sure the coast is clear before turning back around to carefully place each gift under the tree.
You heard the sound of metal shoes tapping the stone floor heading in your direction. You stood up quickly, turning around just in time to see Lin and Suyin enter the parlor, their conversation ceased as they turned their gaze away from one another to where you stood, standing in front of the tree awkwardly.
“Y/N?” Suyin spoke first. Giving you a puzzled look. Lin stood beside Suyin eyeing you suspiciously as Suyin continued. “I thought you were going back to your quarters?”
“I did. I just wanted to put some things under the tree for later since your family usually unwraps gifts at midnight.” You stepped aside so they could see for themselves. The two inched closer and peered overseeing the neatly wrapped packages under the tree. Their suspicions died down.
“Oh, that is such lovely wrapping paper, you didn’t have to do that Y/N.” Said Suyin, pressing a hand to her chest.
“I wanted to do something nice.” You stated, noticing how Lin still watched you carefully. “I mean it is Christmas after all, the time for giving.”
“Exactly! I wished some people felt that way…” Suyin turned her attention to Lin, her eyes narrowed and lips forming a tight line.
“What?” Lin said defensively, eyes widened when Suyin fixed her with an accusatory stare. “I came, didn’t I? You know I’m not one for family get-togethers.”
“While that may be true did you have to come in your work uniform?” Suyin said exasperated. “Honestly Lin don’t you wear anything besides your armor?”
“I came right from the station… it’s not like I have anything else.” Lin said matter of factly.
“Right… other than your extensive collection of coats,” Suyin said dryly.
“I don't even have that many Su.” Lin countered, “And besides what of it? It gets cold often in Republic City. So it is a necessity to have.”
“Lin, the fact that you have more coats than actual clothes is enough proof to show that you’re practically married to your work.”
“And that’s a bad thing?” Lin asked, not sure what Suyin was getting at with her argument.
“And what are you supposed to wear for tonight???” Suyin asked sharply.
You couldn’t help but stand there silently, watching the siblings squabble over Lin’s choice in wardrobe. You weren’t really surprised. The Beifong sisters could only remain civil long enough before they found something to bicker about. You knew the argument they were having was completely frivolous, but at that moment both women were so focused on it that they seemed to have forgotten your presence in the room. You wanted to leave, to let them go at each other. It would have been one less problem for you to deal with, but you knew that it would only set the tone for a tense gathering. You didn’t want anything to make things difficult for Kuvira. It already took enough convincing to get her to attend. With much apprehension, you tried to offer a resolution.
“Hey, If I may…” You began. Your voice was an octave higher than normal which worked in gaining their attention.
Both sisters stopped, switching their attention back to you to glare at you, causing a lump to form in your throat. You immediately regretted your choices but had no choice to continue unless you wanted them to round on you. “Su, Lin is a workaholic and that is not an unknown fact. And Lin as someone who understands being a workaholic, it doesn’t mean you can’t have a life.”
You clasped your hands together, addressing both of the Beifong sisters at the same time. “So, Su why don’t you rummage through your wardrobe and see if there might be something suitable for Lin to wear. If not maybe make a call to your tailor to see if they can come up with something last minute.”
Both sisters stared at you with blank expressions. You could see the gears in their minds clicking as they pondered your suggestion. Suyin shifted her gaze from you to address Lin. “I’m sure there is something in my closet we can find for you to wear Lin,” Suyin said mentally visualizing what she had accessible on hand that might be within Lin’s acquired taste.
“So long as it’s not frilly or makes me look like a clown I could care less,” Lin said dismissively. “At this point, I rather just wear a burlap sack.”
“Lin No! Stop” Suyin frowned, visibly horrified by Lin’s suggestion. “You are not wearing a burlap sack. We should be able to find you something. to wear. I am sure of it.”
“Fiiiinee…” said Lin begrudgingly, dissatisfied with the idea of having to play dress-up with Suyin. She was already dreading showing up.
“Great!” You exclaimed, rubbing your hands together before folding them together over your chest. “Now that it’s settled I will let you guys continue on with your discussion.”
You took a few steps forward with the intent to walk past them but were halted when Lin raised a hand in front of you, blocking your path.
“Hang on a moment Y/N, I need to talk to you.”
You raised a brow in suspicion. “About what?”
“Well as your parole officer I’m supposed to be checking in with you about once a month and it’s close to that time. The other issue being Kuvira.” Lin explained.
“What about Kuvira?” You asked hesitantly.
“I spoke with Su and she explained to me that Kuvira is showing signs of self-isolation.” Lin stood up straight, folding her arms across her chest. “Normally I don’t get involved with personal problems but seeing as it’s a perpetuating issue that is unresolved, it’s now officially my issue to deal with. Your mental stability is part of your rehabilitation. Can’t expect progress if either one of you is uncooperative and moping around.”
“I wouldn’t call it moping. And as far as I’m concerned she’s done everything she has needed to do. She’s just been distant with everybody… including me.” You expressed to Lin who listened intently.
Suyin interrupted, holding out an arm to gesture to the large sofas in the middle of the room. “Here, why don’t we all sit down,” Suyin said, laying a hand on Lin’s arm to gently lead her to a nearby sofa. You followed behind the two sitting down in front of them as they both sat together across from you.
“Look, It’s really not my place to say. I’m not one to divulge other people's personal issues… I’m sorry.” You apologized.
“I know you care about her and that you have a personal obligation to keep her affairs private but as your probation officer and Su as your guardian, it’s important that we know if there are any potential issues that might cause problems.” Lin pressed
“Kuvira is not trying to cause problems. She just doesn’t like the holidays.” You said, defensively
“If it’s just that then why is she refusing to cooperate with Su.” Lin countered.
“Lin, that’s not what I meant.” Suyin interjected, “All I said was that she has been extremely distant with me and doesn’t want to talk to me.”
“Su it’s the same thing!” Lin stated.
“It’s not the same.” Suyin exclaimed, “I never said she didn’t listen. Kuvira’s done everything I’ve asked her to do, but what bothers me is when I’m trying to reach out to her she closes herself off.” Suyin explained, her tone coming out pained. “I just want…” Suyin paused trying to hide the hurt that flashed across her face. “I just don’t want her to push me away…not again...” Suyin said softly.
“Su…” Lin whispered, placing a hand on Suyin’s shoulder in a comforting manner.
“I just want to know… what I did wrong this time,” Suyin whispered solemnly, tilting her head down to watch her hands pull at the fabric of her robes in her lap.
You could see the pain and concern that Suyin suppressed written all over her face. That same pained expression that she managed to hide earlier was there in full display. You couldn’t help but be surprised by it. It was almost hard to believe to see Suyin visibly hurt and near tears by Kuvira’s avoidance.  You knew that Suyin was not always direct about how she felt about Kuvira, but at that moment you could see how much Kuvira truly meant to Suyin. You secretly wished Kuvira could see for herself how much the matriarch cared for her. You wondered if it would be enough to kick Kuvira out of whatever funk she had been in up to this point.
“I know…” You said gently after a few moments, wondering what Suyin was thinking. You felt guilty for originally questioning Suyin’s intentions but just seeing her here in front of you now made you realize how inaccurate your perception was.
“It really isn’t anyone’s fault. Kuvira’s just being stubborn.” You said to Suyin, causing her eyes to meet yours. She saw nothing but empathy and compassion.
“No one is to blame for this.”  You reassured her. Suyin’s gaze softened, understanding that there was more to this delicate situation.
“I did manage to talk her into going. So she will be at the party tonight. Though I have to admit it took some convincing,” You admitted.
“She’s going to be there?” Suyin asked, eyes wide and hopeful.
“Yes, she has agreed to be there.” You confirmed, finding it hard to ignore the growing smile on Suyin’s face at the confirmation.
“But she hasn’t explained to you why she’s been distant?” Lin asked you directly, not satisfied by your answer.
“I mean she has told me very little about it.” You replied.
“What has she discussed with you, Y/N? Do you have any idea as to why she’s feeling the need to isolate?” Lin asked, pressing for an answer.
You took a moment to decide how you want to answer her question without giving her too much information. “As I had mentioned earlier to Su, I don’t think she is angry at anyone. If anything I think that she is just taking the opinions of others and the way people look at her way too seriously.”
“What do you mean by that?” asked Lin.
“What I’m saying is…” you paused, trying to find the right words to defend Kuvira the best way you could. “Though things have been really challenging for her since moving back to Zaofu. She’s trying her best to make amends and to fix her wrongdoings and personally… I don’t think she feels supported…”
“I don’t understand why she would feel that way,” Suyin said, confused. “I’ve been trying to get her to open up to me, but I haven’t had much luck… I’m at a loss as to what to do.”
“Su, I don’t think this is just about you or anything you are doing.” You stated quickly, not wanting your words to be taken out of context. “I just think her lack of support around her is causing her to feel hopeless and alone, but that’s my opinion. I mean besides you Su; who else has really tried to talk to her?” You asked, hoping that Suyin would begin to understand the message behind your words.
“I…” Suyin paused, it seems that she was starting to understand the situation. “I didn’t even think to consider how she’s been settling in since she came back… how she's even handling everything. I mean Kuvira is no stranger to rumors, but I didn’t even think about how detrimental they could be to her.
“Especially since she’s in a great state of emotional and mental sensitivity. The added stress could also be contributing to her sleep issues.” Lin chimed in, adding her input into the conversation.
You nodded your head in agreement. The two older women were starting to understand that the issue was far greater than themselves; it all came down to Kuvira herself. More or less her mentality and how people viewed her now that she was no longer the Great Uniter. Having so much power at once and literally having it stripped away would make anybody question their life choices and sanity, especially when it came down to their relationships with others. That is considering if the relationship was still salvageable.
“Maybe, it’s possible…You do bring up a valid point Y/N.” Said Lin, her hand coming up to scratch at her chin.
“Indeed…” Suyin nodded in agreement. “I believe at this point it would serve in both of our best interests if I were to have a sit-down conversation with Kuvira.”
“I think that would be for the best, Su.” Lin agreed. “Better to hear it directly from the source.”
“I want to hear what Kuvira has to say before assuming the worst.” Said Suyin, her face remained passive but her voice sounded apprehensive. “I’ve already told Y/N that I would have tea brewed to help with Kuvira’s sleep issues… I will find time to meet with her later.”
“I’m sorry I couldn’t help more.” You said, feeling an odd sense of guilt at keeping Kuvira’s weary behavior towards the Beifongs to yourself. You knew the two sisters meant well but there were some things that people had to find out for themselves, and this was one of those things.
“It’s okay Y/N,” Suyin reassured you. “It’s not your place to speak on Kuvira’s behalf. I’m just glad that she will be joining us tonight. Hopefully, everything goes smoothly…”
“I’m sure it will.” You stated.
“I mean what is a Beifong gathering without a little family drama,” Lin said nonchalantly.
“Lin!” Suyin whipped her head at Lin and narrowed her eyes. “Really?”
Lin shrugged her shoulders, “What? I’m just saying it’s pretty typical for our family to have some sort of drama or a reoccurring crisis during family get-togethers.”
“Well for once it would be nice not to.” Suyin spat.
“Anyways…” Lin began, brushing off her sister’s sass. “Besides that Y/N how have you been doing?”
“Oh you know, just helping out where and when I can.” You answered, feeling a bit awkward now that the conversation had diverted away from Kuvira and onto you. “I try to go where I'm needed.”
“Lately, Y/N has been helping me with reconstruction projects. I had her assist with a new design for our landscape project” Suyin confirmed.
“Yes, I have been trying to find ways to figure out how to make exotic plants thrive and reformat the layout of the grounds. It’s dirty work but I enjoy it. However, the weather has made it difficult to work so I will have to pick it back up when it gets warmer.”
Lin scoffed “Yeah, I don’t blame you. Getting here alone was a real pain. This storm is no joke. We had trouble with navigating our way here. At this rate, we might need to hunker down for a few days and wait out this storm.”
“Really? It’s that bad?” Suyin balked.
“Yes, visibility is terrible,” Lin confirmed. “If it wasn’t for it being daytime I highly doubt I would have been able to get here safely.”
“I’ll go ahead and have the rooms prepared just in case.” Suyin decided, her face etched with worry. “Hopefully the others will make it here safely.”
“They should, I radioed Korra and Tenzin before departing. They left after I did. From what I’m aware of they’re taking the future industry airship.” Said Lin.
“If that’s the case then I’m sure they’ll make it here safely. Asami has people that know what they’re doing.” Said Suyin, still showing visible concern.
Lin snickered at Suyin’s comment, earning a dirty look from Suyin. Her smug look vanished almost instantly. You resisted the urge to laugh, instead you bit your lip to suppress it. The way the two would throw shade at each other was something you found hilarious, not that you would make it known. One angry Beifong was enough to deal with… you didn’t want to do anything that would cause them to direct their anger at you. You doubted you would come out unscathed. That was a force you knew you did not want to reckon with if Kuvira’s description of their past fights was accurate as she claimed to be. You remembered when Kuvira explained to you their last fight. You almost didn’t believe it. It sounded so exaggerated and atrocious it was hard to believe. When you overheard the guards the other day talking about it after learning that Lin would be stopping by you couldn’t help but notice how nervous they became. Speaking cautiously in frantic whispers made you eavesdrop on the conversation. You had listened in on one of the guards complaining about how long it took to clean up the damage from the last time they fought. You remembered Kuvira mentioning it took weeks to fix the damage to the estate after the last time they went at each other's throats. Overhearing the guards talking with wide eyes and hushed voices made you wonder how extreme the fight was to cause that much damage. You definitely didn’t want to find out.
“Anyways…” you began, hoping to alleviate the tension. “Was there anything else you wanted to discuss? I probably should head back and start getting ready.”
Lin shook her head, “Not at the moment, I will get with you later on for your evaluation.”
“Sounds like a plan,” you confirmed, pushing yourself off the sofa into a standing position.
Suyin rose from the sofa, “In the meantime, I’m gonna have the rooms prepared for later. That way everybody can retire after and nobody has to travel through that dreadful storm. I will get with you later Y/N.”
Lin stood up, “I’ll go ahead and radio Asami to check-in with them. Just to be sure.”
You nodded your head in agreement, “Great, see you later.”
You smiled at the two, then turned to leave. Giving them the opportunity to finish their chat before they went to carry out their tasks. At least things couldn't get more invasive than you thought to yourself. You pushed open the doors to the estate and headed down the path back to your apartment, wondering what you would return to.

A/B/O
Road head. Car Sex.
“A drive?” Asami asked softly.
“Yeah. We could just go for a drive. Take the back roads around town. Just enjoy some time to ourselves.” Korra responded casually.
The alpha had to admit, the idea did sound appealing. Of course, Asami herself loved to drive. So what could be the harm in just taking a drive?
Little did Asami know that Korra had much more, devious, reasons for wanting to go for a drive.
It was a little bit on the later side, the sun had already gone down. But that might be even better. Asami knew of a little spot they could park and stargaze. It could be romantic.
“Okay. Sounds like fun. I know just the place to go.” Asami smiled at Korra.
Both of the women got ready and met in the garage. Asami quickly stepped up to open Korra’s door for her. Something the alpha always did. Korra couldn’t help the slight blush that covered her cheeks every time.
Korra considered herself lucky to had found an alpha that often treated her like royalty. But the omega knew when Asami did it, it was out of love. Not like most people, who did things out of obligation, simply because she was the Avatar.
No. Asami truly loved Korra. And went out of her way to make sure that her omega knew it. Using every opportunity to show her admiration and devotion.
Even if it was just small things like opening the door for her. Or stopping to buy Korra her favorite sweets on her way home from work. Or making sure to never leave the house without kissing her mate goodbye and an ‘I love you.’
Korra sighed happily as she slid into the passenger seat of the newest Satomobile Asami had built. This particular Satomobile Korra had a major say in its making. The omega had asked Asami to custom make it for them.
Asami eagerly agreed and asked what Korra had wanted in the vehicle. The omega had wanted interior things. A big back seat. Front seats that could lean all the way back. A low flat middle console. A small steering wheel. Nice, loud, speakers with a new radio.
While Korra’s reasonings for wanting all these things seemed to go over her mate’s head, the alpha had been more than happy to make a Satomobile just for Korra.
Up until this point, Korra hadn’t had the chance to put any of these particular things in play. But tonight, the omega had major plans for them.
Asami slid into the driver's seat. The car started with a low rumbling purr. The quietest Satomobile yet. It was sleek and shiny. Low to the ground, with a solid cab that had plenty of headroom. Korra had made sure of that.
As they pulled out of the garage and onto the road, Korra flipped through the radio stations. Finally settling on something smooth that still kept a beat.
They had finally made it to the side road that split off the main one. It was much smaller, wrapping around the outskirts of the city. Through the spirit wilds.
Few people used this road. Even less so at night. So Asami wasn’t worried about seeing anyone on the road. So once they turned onto the road the alpha kicked it into gear. Revving the engine as she sped up.
Korra laughed gleefully, feeling the rush of adrenaline.  Asami was an excellent driver. Often using her driving skills to show off. Speeding down the road, whipping around corners.
Trusting Asami’s driving with her life, Korra wasn’t scared. Quite the opposite actually. Each time the car lurched forward as she switched gears, Korra's stomach would flip. The adrenaline burning into arousal.
Asami was trying to show off. And it was working. This was exactly what Korra was hoping for.
Korra glanced at her alpha, a devious smirk on her face. The omega finally had the chance to put her plan into play.
Reaching her hand out, Korra placed it on top of Asami’s thigh. Trying to keep the touch light and casual.
The alpha smiled softly, one hand letting go of the wheel, she placed it over Korra’s.
“You know, you are a really good driver. Maybe we could.. Put your skills to the test?” Korra purred out the challenge, knowing Asami couldn’t refuse.
“Oh? And what kind of.. Test, are you thinking?” Asami knew her mate was trying to bait her.
“Well… Let’s just see how well you can focus, with a bit of.. Distraction.” Korra breathed out, the words hung in the air.
The alpha let go of Korra’s hand and placed it back on the steering wheel again, smirking. “Fine. Let’s see if you could even distract me in the first place.”
Fire blazed in the omega’s eyes, determined to get want she wanted. Her hand slid down the alpha’s thigh, keeping her touch light, teasing. The tips of her fingers swirled around Asami’s knee, and back up.
Asami’s grip tightened, as the omega teased her. She couldn’t stop her clit from shifting, her pants grew a noticeable bulge at the front.
The alpha couldn’t help but growl, if Korra thought getting her hard would be enough to distract her, the omega was sorely mistaken.
Letting her hand trail up the curve of the bulge, Korra could feel it pulse under her fingers. She cupped it, giving the alpha’s cock a light squeeze through the material of her pants.
The omega started to unbuckle Asami’s pants, pulling down the zipper.
“Woah. You're not really gonna..” Asami trailed off as Korra reached into her pants.
“Shh, just keep your eyes on the road,” Korra said soothingly.
“I’m not sure this is a good idea… We could-” Asami was cut off by her own gasp as Korra finally managed to release her cock from her pants.
Fully extended, the alpha's cock bounced free. Heavy under its own weight, her length throbbed eagerly, showing none of her reservations.
Korra licked her lips, staring down at the alphas thick member. Placing her hand around the base of the cock, the omega gave it a light squeeze. It pulsed in her hand, pre-come welling at the tip.
The omega swiped her thumb across the tip, gathering up the slick overflow. Bringing it up to her lips, she licked it clean. Eyes rolling at the taste, it was a little weaker than the alphas thick come. But still tasted just as good.
Reaching back down, Korra started to pump her mate’s cock with slow, measured strokes. The length throbbed in her hand every time she reached the tip.
A low moan escaped Asami, she was leaking like a fountain now. Making each stroke smoother than the last. The omega hummed in response, heat building in her belly.
Glancing up to see Asami’s jaw was clenched tight, eyes trained straight forward.
Asami can totally handle this. Could she handle my mouth though? Korra licked her lips at the thought.
The omega pumped her fist faster. Watching with great intensity, as the overflow spilled over her fingers. Spirits, she wanted another taste so badly.
Finally, Korra couldn’t take it anymore. She needed more. Briefly letting go of her mate’s cock, Korra leaned back and unbuckled her seatbelt. Before turning back to her alpha.
Korra started to lean over before Asami’s warning growl stopped her. “Korra..”
The omega shivered, slick dousing her lower lips. The growl was supposed to stop her. But.. it’s only turned the omega on more.
Leaning down Korra took her mate’s cock back in her hand, dropping her head to lap insistently at the slit.
Asami hissed in return, “Fuck!”
The omega moaned, sealing her lips over the puffy head, and stroked the length faster.
Although Korra was distracted she didn’t miss the fact that the car was starting to slow down.
Asami was losing focus.
The moans spilling from the alpha grew louder, her hips starting to buck up into her mate’s hot mouth.
Korra moaned in return, she was completely soaked. Pleasing her alpha always turned her on. But the fact that they were in a moving vehicle only spurred her on. It was reckless. Dangerous. And downright just plain hot.
Eventually, Asami’s hand came off the steering wheel, and closed around the back of her omegas head.
Pushing her head down, the alpha gripped roughly at Korra’s hair.
The groan that left the omega was the loudest yet, eyes rolling as the head of the alpha’s thick cock slid down her throat.
As much as Korra liked to serve and please her alpha. The omega loved being forced to do those things.
Korra adored when her mate would go all alpha. Using her strength and power to use the omega for her own selfish pleasure.
The alpha pumped her hips up every time she pushed Korra’s head back down. Forcing her cock as deep as possible each time.
Finally, the car pulled off the road, quickly slamming to a stop. Both Asami’s hands fell into her mate’s hair. Thrusting up as fast and as roughly as she could.
“Fuck. Oh, omega, I’m gonna-“ Asami growled through her teeth as her head fell back against the headrest.
Korra swallowed around Asami’s cock, desperate for the alpha’s come.
Finally! Finally, Asami came, snapping her hips up. Thick spurts shot down Korras throat. The omega greedily sucked, swallowing down every drop.
Asami’s hands slid out of her omegas hair as she panted and moaned. Korra sat back up. A smug and satisfied look on her face.
“I definitely think I distracted you.” Korra purred smugly.
Asami just let out a breathy chuckle, still coming down from her high. Although she had just come, her cock was still rock hard.
Korra briefly looked around outside. They just pulled off the side of the road. So they weren’t exactly hidden.
But then again they hadn’t seen any other vehicles on the road, so the likelihood of them getting caught was slim. Still possible.
But fuck it. Who cares? Asami had more than enough money to pay off the police if anything happened.
With her mind made up, Korra sat back and wiggled out of her pants. Baring her swollen, soaked folds to the open air. She hadn’t worn anything else.
The alpha’s eyes bugged out of her head at the glorious sight before her. “You.. You planned this?”
“Oh, I’ve been planning this for a while. Now, lean your seat back.” Korra purred seductively.
Immediately Asami did as she was told. Pushing the seat as far back as she could. Her omega quickly climbed into her lap.
Korra pulled her mate into a deep kiss, as she planted herself down fully onto the alpha’s cock. She was so wet, she took her all in one fluid stroke.
Asami groaned into her omega’s mouth, placing her hands on her waist. Korra started to roll her hips.
The Satomobile started to rock as Korra started to pick up the pace. Slamming her hips down as Asami thrust up into her. The couple rutting furiously together. Both chasing after their high.
Breaking the kiss they both moaned out. Panting heavily as they rocked together. They weren’t going to last long. But that was probably for the best. The longer they took the more chance they had of getting caught.
At the thought of getting caught, Korra moaned. Kissing down her alpha’s neck, until she reached her mate mark. Digging her teeth into the skin.
Asami yelped under her. Her thrusts jerking out of rhythm. The base of her cock started to throb, her knot was forming.
Korra immediately felt it and began grinding down on it. Trying to pop it in.
“No.” Asami’s rough growl broke through the air.
“Please. Alpha knot me. I need it.” Korra whined into Asami’s mate mark.
“No. No knot. We can’t.” Asami tried to remain firm.
“Alpha, please. Want your knot, want your pups. Fill me.. Please.” Korra whimpered out pitifully.
The omega continued to grind down against the knot, it was starting to make progress. The top stretching her tight entrance.
Spirits, they were totally going to get caught. But fuck it. Asami growled and she roughly gripped her mate’s hips, pulling her down onto her knot.
With a few rough thrusts up the knot finally popped in. The stretch and pressure against her front wall made Korra come hard. Whimpering and whining, the omega arched and shook with each ripple of her orgasm.
The hot, tight walls squeezing her was too much. The alpha couldn’t hold back. Coming in thick spurts, filling her mate.
The knot was sealed in, keeping every drop of come inside the omega. Warm and comforting.
Korra collapsed on top of her mate, moaning and panting heavily. Both coming down from their high.
“Thank you. That was amazing.” Korra breathed out softly.
Asami wrapped her arms around her omega. Rubbing her back softly, kissing her omegas mate mark as well.
“You’re telling me. That was incredible. You did so good. My good little omega.” Asami purred soothingly.
“You did good! I knew you could handle a little road head.” Korra chuckled softly, kissing her neck.
“I think you technically did win. I was definitely distracted.” Asami laughed out.

Egos Start Wars
Pairing: Mako/Prince Wu
A03
******
In retrospect, he really should have known to keep his mouth shut. He should have known saying something would lead to this situation. It had been a long, long day though, and he was exhausted.
Prince Wu had spent the entire day dragging him store to store in preparation for some party Mako couldn’t be bothered to know about. He’s convinced the prince just wanted to throw one for the heck of it but needed an excuse. They spent well over four hours at some spa that left him feeling more frazzled than relaxed, then ate at some restaurant that cost more than a year’s worth of rent. At this point, Mako really shouldn’t be surprised by Wu’s lifestyle, only Wu isn’t technically ruling any kingdom anymore, and eventually, his funds will run out. Unless the Earth Kingdom decides to keep him around as royalty in name only. Mako honestly isn’t sure how it all works.
If all of that wasn’t bad enough, Wu disappeared for well over a few hours once they left the restaurant. He spent the better part of the afternoon driving all over Republic City trying to find the wayward prince, only to return to Wu’s home and find him there. Wu, of course, promptly berated him for wasting time and gallivanting around the city. Mako never wanted to throw someone out the window more than in that moment.
Now Mako finds himself at a stuffy event, forced to wear whatever Wu decided looks good on him. The room is packed with people from all over the world, here to celebrate… something; Mako still isn’t sure what this party is even about. He sighs, watching the crowd out of boredom as the prince prattles on to some diplomat from the Fire Nation. Mako vaguely hears something about the nation’s history, but he’s too busy watching Bolin fill his plate with food to pick up on whatever’s being said.
“Ya know,” he hears Wu comment as the prince slings an arm around his shoulder. Wu pulls Mako close, though his attention remains on his conversation partners. “Egos start wars.”
He says it so matter of factly. His tone almost condescending as if his own ego doesn’t threaten his life on a near daily basis. And okay, it’s been a long day and Mako is tired . He doesn’t want to be at some stuffy event surrounded by a bunch of people, and trying to maintain some kind of polite demeanor. He quickly learned during his time with Asami and Korra that this just isn’t for him. This is so far removed from how he grew up and what he’s used to, and he’s so tired of biting his tongue every time Wu opens his mouth, that the words slip out before he can even stop himself.
“I’m surprised yours hasn’t yet.”
The conversation stops abruptly. Two sets of wide eyes immediately shift focus to him. A hand covers the surprised gasp of the woman standing before the prince. Mako knows he’s crossed a line. Bodyguards aren’t supposed to talk back to their charges after all. It was an honest slip and one he will firmly blame on being tired when Lin questions him about it later.
For now, though, Wu is pulling away from him with a small chuckle, shaking his head as if mockingly disappointed. He spares his guest a look, one that says, ‘peasants, am I right?’, and the two diplomats let out awkward laughs.
“Oh, Mako,” he says in that condescending tone that grates on Mako’s nerves. There’s a smile on the prince’s face but his eyes hold the promise of punishment. He waves his hand at his bodyguard flippantly, as he returns his attention to his guests. “I wouldn’t expect you to understand the nuances of such high-class conversation.”
Mako grits his teeth, hands clenching into fists at his side. He looks around the room again as Wu starts the conversation back up, suddenly wishing he was anywhere but there. Relief washes through him then, because maybe if Wu is mad enough, he’ll ask Lin to give him a new bodyguard. He’d finally be able to go back to what he originally set out to do instead of playing babysitter to an overgrown toddler.
The thought of being reassigned makes him uneasy though. Who else on the force would be able to put up with Wu’s antics as much as he has? If he’s being honest, he’s not even sure who else he would trust enough to watch after the prince and ensure his safety.
He… he doesn’t want to be fired from this job.
Wu is annoying, sure, but he’s also very kind and thoughtful… in his own strange way. He’s loud and obnoxious, but very skilled in talking to others and de-escalating situations; even when he’s the one escalating them to begin with. He likes to be pampered and expects only the finest things in life, something that definitely came with years of being raised in a palace. Wu is very flamboyant. Dramatic. Constantly over the top, but, Mako suddenly realizes, he’d lay his life down for the prince.
Mako suddenly realizes how endeared he’s become towards Prince Wu. His gaze slides over to his charge as he chats about an entirely different topic than before. Wu’s hands wave around him, an extension of whatever story he’s telling, and Mako finds it almost adorable.
His face flushes at the thought and he quietly excuses himself to get some food, and maybe a breath of fresh air. He’s pretty sure none of them even notice his departure.
Bolin’s sitting out on the balcony with Opal when Mako steps outside. Their conversation drops the moment the door opens and music floods out into the quiet space. He must be noticeably distressed because Opal very quickly excuses herself and disappears back inside.
“What’s up, Mako?” Bolin asks as he claims the seat Opal just vacated. He sets his plate of food on the bench between then and frowns at the ground. Bolin promptly begins picking at a piece of turtleduck.
“I think I messed up with Prince Wu and he’s going to have me fired,” Mako answers with a huff, brushing a hand through his hair. The action displaces carefully styled strands, but he can’t be bothered to care about that. Wu might, but that’s besides the point…
“I’m confused,” his brother responds. “Isn’t that what you wanted?”
“Yes…” He frowns. “No.” Mako groans, sitting back against the balcony’s railing and slumping in his seat. “I don’t know.” Bolin, precious brother that he is, hums in thought, head nodding as he listens to Mako’s woes.
“If it makes you feel any better, I don’t think he’s going to replace you.” Mako watches Bolin with a frown, waiting to see if his brother plans to elaborate on that thought or not. He huffs when his brother fails to elaborate on it.
“I literally insulted him in front of some diplomats, Bolin. Somehow I doubt he’s going to be okay with that.”
“Yeah but… if he wouldn’t he have made a huge scene or something if he was truly insulted?” Bolin points out. “I mean… look at how he reacted during his coronation. The guy isn’t exactly subtle.” Okay, yeah, Bolin has a point. Prince Wu didn’t exactly react like a king when his coronation didn’t go quite as planned. He’s grown a lot since then though… Besides, Mako doubts he’d make a scene in front of visiting nations.
He expressed as much to Bolin. Bolin promptly waves the notion off.
"You know," he begins. "Heard some people talking in there. Not only are you the longest bodyguard Prince Wu's ever had but he also pampers you." Mako blinks, giving Bolin a bewildered look.
"What are you talking about?" He asks. "Wu doesn't… pamper me!" The very idea is enough to make his face warm. Wu just drags him along to those things because he's his bodyguard. The prince doesn't have a choice!
"I don't know, Mako… just because you're protecting him doesn't mean he has to pay for your meals and take you on spa visits."
"Of course he has to take me! I'm his bodyguard ! I'm not just going to stand outside assuming he'll be okay!" Especially not after that bathroom fiasco. Mako still feels guilty over that… Bolin shrug, a know glint in his eyes and a small smile playing across his face.
"I think maybe he likes you," he says, grin growing wider as he leans close to his brother. "And I think, maybe, that you like him too."
Mako sputters and, yeah, his face is definitely on fire. He opens his mouth to reply when the balcony door opens again.
Music and laughter follows someone out the door, dying to a quiet lull as the door clicks shut. Mako takes one look in their direction and grimaces, recognizing the silhouette right away.
"Wu does not like me!" Mako hisses, hoping said prince is far enough that he can't hear.
" Right, " Bolin responds, leaning into Mako. "And he's totally not out here because he prefers your company over being the center of attention inside." Bolin shifts back into his seat and turns towards Mako's charge, voice light and jovial as he says, "Prince Wu! Heeey, how's it going?"
He's wearing that pout that seems to be perpetually stuck on his face, arms crossed as he steps over to the pair. One look at Mako, though, has the entire expression wiped clean as the boy throws himself into his bodyguard's lap. Bolin snickers at the clear display of affection.
"I was looking all over for you, you know," Wu says, tossing an arm over his face. "One minute you were there and then… poof, you were gone." Mako scoffs. He couldn't have been gone for that long. He honestly doubted Wu would even know he left.
"Oh… yeaaahh, sorry about that," Bolin says, looking sheepish. "Saw Mako getting some food and dragged him away for a little… ya know… brother bonding." Wu perks up at the mention of food, eyes honing in on the half empty plate between them. The plate quickly makes its way into the prince's possession.
"I was so worried something had happened," he says, thankfully finishing a bite before speaking. He turns to Mako with wide, wet eyes. "What if I had gotten prince-napped again?" Mako can’t help the exasperated eye roll.
“No one’s going to steal you away,” Mako says. Wu scoffs as if he doesn’t believe it. He mostly likely doesn’t. This is a conversation they have on a near daily basis any time Wu loses sight of Mako.
“Bolin,” Wu says, attention shifting to the earthbender. “Would you mind giving us some room to talk?” Bolin puts his hands up in a placating gesture, sliding off the bench and onto his feet. He gives Mako a thumbs up and a grin, silently encouraging his brother to say something. Mako can only frown as Bolin disappears back inside.
Wu shifts in his lap but makes no move to get off him. He clears his throat, gaze looking everywhere but at his companion.
“I’m sorry,” Mako says because the tension is grating on his nerves, and someone needs to say something. The prince’s eyes are on him in an instant. “I know I spoke out of turn and… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to insult you like that.”
“Oh, Mako,” Wu says with a laugh, gently patting his shoulder. “I wasn’t insulted. In fact, I appreciate your honesty. It’s refreshing.”
“It is?”
“If anything,” Wu continues as if Mako hadn’t even spoken. “ I should be apologizing to you. ” He turns in Mako’s lap, hands straightening out his collar with a smile. “I should’ve realized sooner that these things make you uncomfortable, and I’m sorry for forcing you to come. In the future, I’ll ask Chief Beifong to give you the night off.”
“No!” Mako grabs his hands, eyes wide in alarm. Wu blinks at him in surprised confusion. Mako clears his throat, letting go and sitting back, eyes averted from the prince in his lap. His cheeks feel warm. “No… that… that won’t be necessary. I, uh… I don’t know if I’d be able to relax not knowing if you were doing okay or… not….”
Wu looks positively delighted by this bit of information. He looks down at his hand resting in his lap and sighs.
“That makes me feel so relieved,” Wu confesses. “I spend so much time at these events and, while I love them, it’s exhausting being around people who just say what you want to hear instead of what you need to. With you around, though, it’s not as exhausting. I’d even go as far as saying I enjoy having you here with me.”
Mako stares, and continues to stare at the prince. He doesn’t know what to say to any of that. Wu actually likes having him at these stuffy parties?
“Why?” he finds himself asking. Wu huffs and if it wasn’t so dark, Mako’d swear he’s blushing.
“Of all the bodyguards I’ve ever had,” the prince says. “You’ve been the most fun to have around. I know I can be overdramatic and obnoxious sometimes. But.. I feel like with you, I can unapologetically be myself. Even if you are just humoring me, you at least go along with all the shopping and spa visits.” He pauses to take a breath, shoulders rising and falling. When he speaks again there’s a slight tremor to his voice as he whispers, “I think maybe that’s why I’ve fallen for you.”
“I don’t think you’re obnoxious,” Mako pauses, shaking his head with a smile. “No… that’s not right…” Wu’s face crumbles, hope quickly fleeing his eyes. “I did think you were obnoxious at first, but now… now I think I just find it… endearing.” He takes Wu’s hand into his own, gently rubbing a finger against his impossible soft skin. “I actually like how over the top you can be about things, it’s… cute, in its own way.” That brings the smile back to his prince’s face, and it makes the one on Mako’s grow wider as their eyes meet.
“I think maybe that’s why I’ve fallen for you too.”
Wu’s lips are just as soft as the rest of him, Mako discovers. Kissing, Mako realizes, is also something he will grow to love about the Earth Kingdom’s prince.
And he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Confrontation, Number One
Warnings: This chapter gets a little bit smutty at the end.. So enjoy you filthy animals.
Asami practically sprinted to the door when she heard another knock. She felt entirely too much guilt after Keigo left the way he did. Mostly because she was thinking of this stranger, as handsome, while neglecting her boyfriends attempts at being intimate. That had to be some form of cheating right? So all she needed to do was swing open this door and then she could just jump into his arms and....
“Well doll face, you seem excited to see me,” The strange man smirked at her, leaning down to her height. She was so shocked she didn’t even notice him slipping pass her into her apartment. He walked around the living room before pausing in front of a framed picture. It was surrounded by a few memorial items, like a piece of fabric, and a small braided bracelet.
“What are you doing here?”
“How many copies of this photo do you have, this one is in your office at that damn school too,” Dabi smirked, picking it up. Asami quickly grabbed the photo out of his hand.
“You’ve been in my office?!” Asami hissed, overly annoyed with this man, “How did you even get in there?!”
“Who said I was the one that got in, you put a lot of trust in people, but you’ve always been that way haven’t you?” Dabi walked over to her couch and sat down, “I mean like right now, a man who threatened and burned your arm is sitting on your couch, and you aren’t calling the police? Or your pro hero boyfriend?”
“Maybe because I have a few questions for you, that have been bugging me for the last few days,” Asami glared at him, walking over to turn on the lamp, so there was more than the tv illuminating his face. Teal eyes followed her every move, and a smug look sat on his face the whole time.
“Does that bird boy of yours know I’ve been on your mind?” Dabi sounded overly proud of himself, “Is that why he looked so defeated leaving? Like a man who couldn’t get some?”
“I’m sure you’re very familiar with that look, you asshole,” Asami snapped again, and only earned an amused look from him. Before he stood up and walked towards her. Backing h her into the wall, one hand coming up next to her head. She could smell the scent of something burning, and looked to see him burning a mark on the wall.
“Rethink your words pretty girl, I could show you why I don’t typically hear the word no,” Dabi leaned down close to Asami, and she felt a little guilty that she was shocked he didn’t smell burnt. There was a faint scent of cologne, barely there but there enough.
“Are you done threatening me, and ready to answer my questions,” Asami met his eye, doing her best to ignore the nervous feeling that was in her stomach. Their faces were barely inches apart. His breath smelled of cigarettes, and a bit of mint.
“You know I have a few questions for you too, so why don’t we make it a game, for every three questions you answer you can ask me one,” Dabi grinned, his eyes going over her face. He was practically screaming with amusement at how nervous her violet eyes showed she truly was. She put on a good front of being confident though.
“How is that even remotely fair?” Asami glared at him, “I’ll make you a deal, we each get three questions,”
“Okay, doll, I’ll play your game,” Dabi shrugged, removing his hand from its spot against the wall, “With some limits, like no asking about tragic back stories,”
“You know, you avoiding your backstory really just answers all of my questions already,” Asami walked past him and bumped her shoulder against him. Dabi fought back the urge to slam her against the wall again.
“Well, then why don’t I start, why keep up so many memorials of a boy who’s dead?” Dabi flicked the picture frame, staring at someone he once knew too.
“Because he is the reason I’m doing all of this, so what is your name?” Asami watched him lose his train of thought while staring at the picture.
“Dabi,” He answered simply, and then turned back towards her.
“Your real name,” Asami warned, and Dabi let out a noise of disapproval.
“You don’t get two questions inna row doll,” Dabi smirked at her, “What do you mean by doing all of this?”
“Disappointing my parents, becoming a hero, aiming to beat Endeavor,” Asami explained in the mostly simple way she possibly could, “I didn’t want to be a hero before, but I think you already knew that,”
“Ask your next question, it’s not like I have all night,” Dabi urged her on, he knew she was figuring it out. He knew that the beautiful brain of hers was piecing it together. That’s exactly what he wanted though... Exactly what he needed.
“Why are you so fixated on me?” Asami asked, both of them finally looking at one another again. Dabi felt something flicker inside of him at how soft her voice sounded when she asked this question.
“You already know the answer to that don’t you?” Dabi sighed, feeling tired of his own game, “Oh come on Mimi, you used to be a lot smarter about my games,”
“And you used to have white hair,” Asami’s throat tightened up, “And you were shorter than me back then,”
“Growth spurts can be a beautiful thing doll,” Dabi chuckled to himself, “I get one more question, why did I mean that much to you?”
“Because I loved you,” Asami squeezed her eyes shut, still fighting back the tears, “Because you’re my best friend,”
“Ask your final question,” Dabi walked towards her, using the pad of his finger to gently catch one of the stray tears.
“Is it really you Touya?” Asami’s voice finally broke, tears falling down her cheeks profusely.
“That breaks the rules doll, but,” Dabi leaned down towards her face, gently placing both of his hands against it, “Yeah Asami, it’s me,”
Asami let her eyes broke open and took in his entire appearance. He was almost unrecognizable, but those eyes... Teal eyes that were so empty the other night, but right now.. They were brighter again. Dabi felt himself soften slightly at the look of sadness, but still happiness that was all over her face. Her arms wrapped around his neck, pulling herself into him. He stood frozen for a second, but inevitably wrapped his arms back around her waist. Taking in the sweet scent coming from her hair, and the sounds of her choked up sobs.
“Now come on Mimi, I never struck you as some big cry baby,” Dabi whispered against the girl, who shockingly pulled back from him, and then pulled him down to her. His eyes scanned over his face, just taking everything in. Trying to picture Touya’s face on his. Trying to imagine that stupid smug grin, without his burns and scars.
“You’re alive,” Asami whispered, her hands resting on the back of his head. Dabi looked at her, not noticing he was taking in the moment. Trying his best to memorize how her eyes looked staring at him with this much adoration. This much excitement.
“I’m alive, and I’m finally back with you,”
Both of them stood still for what felt like forever. Neither of them fully understanding what was going through the others head. So many emotions went through Asami’s head, but she pushed them all aside to focus on just one. Dabi knew what his plan was, and he needed to stick with it. This was all so he could make sure to find out where the training camp was. Yet he still couldn’t help but pay attention to how much his childhood crush had grown up.
“Would it be a total fucking cliche if I kissed you right now?” Dabi whispered, leaning his forehead against hers. Asami’s breath hitched in her throat, but she couldn’t bring herself to say no. She should definitely say no.
She didn’t say no.
Instead she got onto her tiptoes, and pulled his face into hers. Dabi let out a small groan at the feeling of her body pushing into his as she fully closed the gap in between them. The kiss felt foreign to both of them, Dabi not used to someone being so gentle with him, and Asami not used to the rough feeling of his lips. His hands found their way to her hips, and guided her back into the wall.
Once her back hit against the wall, something within both of them broke. The almost gentle moment seemed to change pace instantly. Dabi’s hand snuck underneath her shirt, resting against her bare skin on her hips. Asami shuttered at the feeling of his warm hand against her skin, causing her body to grind against his. Another groan escaped his mouth and he broke away for a second, grinning down at her.
He watched her face as his hands traveled up her stomach. Wasting no time to land on her left breast, relishing in the moment as her head leaned back into the wall, small whimpers escaping her mouth. His mouth attached itself to her neck, kissing and nipping at every inch of her skin. Before finally finding the spot that made her let out the sweetest sound he swore he ever heard.
He wanted to hear more of that.
His hand traveled down her stomach again. Playing with the waistband of her sweatpants, before finally pushing his way through it. His fingers gently danced over the soft cotton of her underwear. Smirking when he felt a soaked through spot, and pressed up against it. Again that sweet sound left her lips, and he found himself chasing it. Rubbing against the spot at a quick pace, kissing into her neck again.
“More, please,” Asami barely knew what she was thinking when she spoke the words, ecstasy and adrenaline filling her head. Nothing about this was right, or made any sense. It was all like she was in her own quirk.
“Go to the couch doll,” Dabi growled, watching as she went to the couch, “Lay down, and get rid of the sweatpants,”
Asami quickly removed the sweatpants, revealing a pair of red underwear. They were nothing fancy, just a pair of cotton one. Still though, seeing her in red lit something inside of him. He made his way over to her, climbing down to start kissing her again. The bulge in his pants rubbing against her core, and there came the beautiful sound yet again.
“You see what you’re doing to me doll?” Dabi groaned, “This was all I could think about anytime I watched you walk down the street in that tight ass costume,”
“Pervert,” Asami teased, earning a glare from Dabi, “But, wait wait wait,”
Dabi paused his actions, his hands resting against her thighs. Both of their chests were moving up and down with their rapid breathing. Asami was finally coming back to her senses, and Dabi knew that. This moment of fun was going to come to an end, and he knew that.
“This is too much too fast, and I have Keigo,” Asami sighed, throwing her head back against the arm of the couch. Dabi looked down at her, smirking a little bit.
“You really want me to stop?” Dabi trailed his hands up, and Asami was quick to grab his wrist. She gave him a warning look, and he held his hands up in defense.
“Touya, if you’ve been alive all of this time, why would you not come to me?” Asami quietly asked, as she pulled her sweatpants back onto her body. Dabi was lounged back against the couch, his eyes fixating on the picture of Asami and that damn bird hero.
“A story for another day, I am going to head out but I’ll be in touch,” Dabi stood up, and Asami sat in disbelief.
“Wait, no you have got to be kidding me?!” Asami yelled, “I’ve spent these past years thinking you were dead, turns out you’re not, you come here and try to hook up with me, and then you just leave?”
“I told you that all I could think about was that costume, besides you should probably focus on your boyfriend doll face, he seemed a little distraught earlier,” Dabi chuckled, putting his hand on the doorknob again.
“Because all I could think about was you!” Asami yelled, and he froze one last time. Before opening the door and walking out without a word.
A sob came out of Asami’s mouth, that echoed throughout the entire apartment. Everything that just happened made no sense to her. There was no reasonable explanation for what had happened between the two of them. Even the fact that he was alive just made no sense to him.
On the other side of the door, Dabi listened for a second before starting to walk away. He pulled out his phone to let the League know the plan worked, and that person’s quirk was successful. A lust quirk was all it took for her to break down for him, and now he was inside her head. That was part one of the plan of infiltrating that damn school.

rating wlw ships i’ve encountered in my gay life
(but only the ones that “actually” sailed... listed in the order i watched them)
1. stef and lena - the fosters
this is the first wlw ship i remember encountering. BEFORE i realized i’m a lesbian.
i remember seeing stef’s journey with her husband and lena and thinking, “god i would hate that” and feeling personally attacked even though i thought i was straight. -3 points on accounts of slight pettiness in honor of pre-gay me.
it’s been a while since i watched this show, but from what i remember they were good together and i felt seen, even though i had no idea why. +.5 points.
total: 7.5/10
2. brittany and santana - glee
whoever let me watch this show? it’s ridiculous. -4 points on accounts of being ridiculous.
anyway, still didn’t know i’m gay at this point. but i remember being invested.
i did enjoy santana’s arc. again, i felt very attacked because at the time i was in denial. -2 points on accounts of slight pettiness yet again.
they were always the best part of the show, though, in my opinion. +2 points.
total: 6/10
3. lexa and clarke - the 100
i was invested in these two for A WHILE.
only cons include that this was a slow burn that got cut off before the good feeling of a slow burn could hit. they didn’t even get to become a real couple because lexa died the second they consummated their relationship. -4 points on accounts of unnecessary pain.
other than that, lots of gay pining and really obvious gay proclamations made by lexa, including but not limited to: “attack her and you attack me” and “i swear fealty to you, klark kom skaikru.” +2 points.
coincidentally, sometime during this show or maybe slightly before watching it i came to terms with my sexuality. +0 points on accounts of this not being affiliated with the show or the couple.
total: 8/10
4. kat and adena - the bold type
i didn't like this show too much. i kept losing interest often. -3 points on accounts of... being bored.
i did, however, like the ship. i sometimes struggled to connect with it, i think because i wasn’t all that into the show as a whole. i’ve never been the type to watch a show just for the gay characters. -2 points.
please note that that’s just my opinion. you could very well end up liking the show a lot. i do remember them being apart for a lot of the season for some reason, which quickly made me lose focus. i can’t remember why, that’s how little this show stuck out to me.
total: 5/10
5. waverly and nicole - wynonna earp
lovely couple. very cute together. also, they care so much about one another and they get lots of screen time.
plus, the show is killer. i love the cast and there's a lot of relatable characters.
i only watched seasons 1 and 2, however, because it stopped recording on my tv for GOD KNOWS WHAT REASON and i’m not caught up yet. so i can’t say anything on seasons after that.
total: 10/10
6. alex and maggie, then alex and kelly - supergirl
i love alex’s story line. it felt super relatable and real, plus she got some cute ladies. her sexuality isn’t turned into a big deal. as soon as she realizes and has that conversation with herself, it drops away. nobody is like, “huh, alex is gay???” ever again. she just... is.
i also really like that alex isn’t just with the first girl she meets, like a lot of wlw who realize they’re gay in a show. she realizes that her and maggie don’t share the same views, recognizes that she wants more, and breaks up with her. then she finds kelly. it’s realistic, i love it.
total: 10/10
7. elena and syd - one day at a time
such cute little babies. they have open conversations about themselves and their future and it’s insanely healthy. also elena’s coming out arc is wonderfully portrayed. i have nothing else to say, i love them.
total: 10/10
8. nico and karolina - marvel’s runaways
one thing that stuck out to me about their relationship is that nobody butts into their business once they’ve made it abundantly clear that they’re together. they just get to exist.
also, extra points for the whole “light and dark balancing each other out” thing that they have going on between them. i also appreciate that they get a good amount of screen time, and their relationship is realistic.
total: 10/10
9. casey and izzie - atypical
another case of a very realistic relationship that i was really able to connect to. it does take some time before they end up together, but this really only sold it more for me. they’re both young, and confused, and trying to wrap their heads around their feelings, and the time that it took for them to come together was honestly, in my opinion, worth it.
total: 10/10
10. toni and cheryl - riverdale
i’m sorry, but riverdale is just... absolute garbage after season 1. -5 points on account of just how horrible this show actually has become.
i watched clips of toni and cheryl on youtube when i learned they were together. they’re cute, and they clearly care for one another. i did like the way they came together, even though i was extremely confused whenever they would reference stuff going on outside of their relationship.
one thing that sticks out, though, is that cheryl is an absolute bitch, and you already KNOW i am a softy for bitches who become ENTIRE WHOLE SOFTIES for their gfs. +1 point.
total: 6/10
11. korra and asami - the legend of korra
they don’t actually get together until the final episode, and even then... there’s no kiss or anything. -6 points.
i did, however, like their friendship. i always thought (especially in the last season) that there was something more there. +1 point.
total: 5/10
12. eve and villanelle - killing eve
i am including this mainly because of the kiss, but also because of all of the... sexual tension.
these two are not a good wlw couple in that they aren’t really even a “couple” at all, but i appreciate the cat-and-mouse game that they play throughout the show.
they can never really have any sort of “relationship” at all seeing as villanelle is a psychopath and i don’t really see them (well, eve) ever fully being able to move away from that. -3 points.
total: 7/10
13. ali and aster - the half of it
very good movie, really good representation. they do share a kiss, and their whole back-and-forth with the letters is adorable.
but, there’s not a lot of gay content between the two of them. -4 points.
please note that this movie is not about the gays, though. it’s more about the friendship between ali and paul, and ali coming into her own and discovering who she is.
total: 6/10
14. harley quinn and poison ivy - harley quinn (2019)
i adore their friendship, and i love their special bond. i am really only including them, however, because of the most recent kiss and harley’s gay panic. it is not entirely clear if they will actually end up together or not, but who knows tbh. -4 points.
total: 6/10
15. scylla and raelle - motherland: fort salem
SUCH a good story line. i’ll admit, at first i was nervous because i was afraid this relationship might put a bad rep on wlw relationships. particularly because of scylla’s involvement with the spree, but it pulled through and gave me that good “holy shit this was supposed to be a mission but i actually fell in love” relationship i have always wanted...
also, they’re adorable. i appreciate that the gay stuff happens in the very first episode, too. so if you’re looking for that shit... this is the place to be. doesn’t hurt that the story is really good, too.
total: 10/10

My thoughts on LOK characters after watching season 3
(FOR FUVKS SAKE I WROTE HALF OF THIS ALREARY BUT MY FUVKING PHONE DECIDED TO SHUT ITSELF DOWN IM SO ANGRY GODVERDOMME)
anyway
Korra: wow... just.... wow... what an amazing season for her. Yes it ended kinda fucked up but throughout the season she grows so much. The character development is off the charts! I'm so very proud of her! What a wonderful girl. I love her with all my heart.
Jinora: I'm so happy so got her tattoos!!! How amazing for her!! (That shit must've hurt dude like one lil tat isn't that bad but all of your body all at once?that must have hurt like crazy) I love that she used her spirit powers so much this season and that she really got to show what she can do!!
Tenzin: HE WAS SO STRESSED THIS SEASON AND I TOTALLY GET IT I MEAN IMAGINE HAVING TO TEACH ALL OF....THAT!! He was so so strong and when he just started fighting and the red lotus bitches started just attacking him I almost cried like what! Anyway hes such a great dad, so proud of Jinora. I would like Tenzin to adopt me, I could use a good dad thank you Tenzin.
Mako: I actually liked him a lot this season! When there isn't any of the girl stuff and he isn't just lying to them all the time hes actually a great character.
Bolin: SUCH A SWEET LOVE OH MY GOSH THIS MAN HAS SO MUCH LOVE IN HIS HEART!! He meets his family once and they're everything to him, he falls in love with Opal and just!!! Loves her so immensely!!! What a dream boat! I said it before and I'll say it again:had he been real I would have had such a huge ass crush on him!!!
Kuvira: we got a little peek of her this season. She seems hardworking and passionate! So I like her so far!
Asami: we got so much time with her this season and I enjoyed every second with her! I love how shes becoming an actual friend to Korra (wink) and is just overall being a great character doing great character things!
Zaheer: HOLY SHIT. WHAT. IVE SEEN PEOPLE ONLINE ARGUE ABOIT WHETHER ZEHAAR OR OZAI WERE A MORE DANGEROUS ENEMY BUT HOW??? ZAHEER WOULD BEAT OZAIS ASS IN A HEARTBEAT!! THIS DUDE IS INSANE!! (And, yk, absolutely coocoo)
Eska: we only got a little time with her but I love her!!! Every line is ICONIC!!!
Opal: sweet! Shes so shy and kind! I love how the avatar creators have such a diversity in character! Shes so sweet and interesting. And you go queen for telling Bolin to just be himself and not act weird! Queen!
Kya: ICON what more can I say? Shes amazing!! She recognized Zaheer and i didnt even recognize him.
Lin: I WILL NEVER FORGIVE HER FOR BREAKING NAGAS BALL that being said.. absolute!! Queen!! Dude her character development was insane!! Good for her!!
Bumi: I KNEW HE COULD AIR BEND AT SOME POINT! I was so shocked that's literally the first thing they show this entire season tho!! I thought that maybe they'd introduce it later. Anyway!! You go Bumi!! Hes so strong and passionate. And hes also super funny!! I really like him a lot
Suyin: I KNEW SHE WAS ALSO TOPHS DAYGHTER!! Anyway I dont trust her.... shes off. Also the red lotus is all about not wanting queens and other rulers and one of the first thing she says is that she thinks queens are outdated. Idk. I just think it's a little convenient how her most trusted lie detector was a red lotus without her knowing
Meelo: MY CHILD!! I love love love Meelo so much!! What a passionate man. He chaotic and lowkey psychotic?? The only child I want
Varrick: we also got very little of him but hes the funniest bitch in the room. This mf makes me laugh my ass off at all times
Pabu: !!!!! HEAD EMPTY, ONLY PABU!!!
Pema: best mom. That's it. That's the post.
Tonraq: MADE ME CRY!!! WHEN KORRA SAW HE WASNT DEAD!! MY DADDY ISSUES HEART WENT CRACK
Ming-hua: QUEEN!! ABSOLUTE ICON!!! I LOOOOVVEEEE HOW THE CREATORS OF AVATAR TREAT DISABILITIES AS SOMETHING THAT CAN MAKE YOU STRONG IN YOUR OWN WAY AND NOT AS SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU UNABLE TO DO ANYTHHNG!!! ( also remember in atla when they were in that crand canyon thingie when the tour guide was like I'm nothing without arms. Yes. Anyway once again men ain't shit)
Desna: also very little lines and I don't remember what he said and if he even said anything but he was next to eska so I'm sure it was iconic.
Ikki: we didnt get a lot of her this season, but she is still my princess!!!
Kai: I LOVE HIM !! WHAT A MAN!!! also Jinora and him???so cute!!
Overall thoughts:
This season!! It left me in tears, I literally completely broke down at the end holy shit!! I cannot WAIT to get started on the next season!!!!!!!!

Mako fucking adored Korra. He supported her and tried to be there for her every step of the way in Book 2 while they were dating. Most of the shit that happened in regards to their relationship was Korra’s fault. Now, was it understandable? Yes, because Korra was dealing with a hell of a lot of pressure, both personal and job-wise. Her home was in danger, her family was in danger, and no one seemed to be trying to really help her. Everyone loaded these impossible expectations on her, and she wasn’t able to rise to them. But any and all of the crap that went down happened after Mako broke up with Korra initially. Then ASAMI KISSED HIM (important: star this) during their whole drama fest. They never got back together (and Remembrances brought this up).
Honestly, if there’s one thing I absolutely hated about Remembrances, it was the absolute disregard for the MUTUAL screw-ups in the relationships and how BOTH TIMES Mako ‘cheated,’ the girl kissed him. He simply didn’t ‘fess up about the kiss (which is still a dick move, don’t get me wrong, and he should have to deal with it). Most of the crap that went down in the handling of the Makorra relationship was not Mako’s fault and was either instigated by Korra or outside forces. Not to say Mako is blameless (because he’s not, and there were a thousand ways he could have handled things better too), but jesus christ: Korra is not blameless in this whole mess. She is not some perfect paragon of virtue and wronged innocence. Neither is Asami, though I will freely admit Asami was basically innocent and largely a victim of the whole drama fest. Mako is not the only one to blame, and Mako is not his relationship issues. There is so much more to Mako than his romance, just as there is more to Korra than her romance. Especially considering Mako had the most character development of any character in the show save Korra and perhaps Lin. More on that here  (fantastic-nonsense . tumblr . com/post/103339454055/morgenstars-when-people-shit-on-mako-and-blame) and here fantastic-nonsense . tumblr . com/post/95766287285/ayasugi-san-fantastic-nonsense  .
Mako and Korra dated for six months before Book 2 started, and from everything we know they had a healthy, relatively stable relationship with each other. Like, did you people not watch “Rebel Spirit?” It was almost sickening how in love with each other they were; Bolin certainly thought so. That’s six months in. Any ‘honeymoon period’ had worn off. Mako and Korra’s romantic relationship in Book 2 disintegrated and failed to work because of conflicting responsibilities, their mutual immaturity, and their mutual hotheadedness. All of which were resolved by the end of Book 4 due to their independent character development that took place over the course of the last two books.
Anyway, onto the actual bulk of the ask, since I’ve gotten that off my chest.
You know what? Just because I freaking can, let’s count up all the Mako-Korra/Makorra interactions in Book 4, shall we?
Mako’s letters to Korra, which are honestly just as awkward as the boy himself is. No wonder Korra didn’t reply back to him, honestly; his letters sound like me when I’m valiantly attempting to be formal in an email.
“Reunions”: Five interactions, three directly related to Korra’s leave of absence (the initial reunion hug/conversation—interrupted by Wu, Mako getting upset over Korra replying to Asami but not him or Bolin—interrupted by Asami changing the subject to her father, and the “this is like old times for me and Korra” bit, followed by the look) and then two related to the Wu drama: their argument and subsequent apology (which actually shows how their independent character growth and time apart matured them to the point where any relationship they had, romantic or otherwise, would be healthy and functional; during Books 1 and 2, they would often get into arguments then stomp off and would not apologize to each other until much later, if ever)
“Remembrances”: while it didn’t include any direct Mako-Korra interaction, the episode spent ten minutes recapping the romance angle. Multiple times, it was implied or implicitly stated that Mako hadn’t gotten over Korra and was still in love with her, including the “I haven’t dated anyone since Korra and I broke up” line, the “she continues to inspire me” line, and quite frankly just the general awe with which he talks about her. Korra’s recap did not focus on the romance angle at all and instead was focused on the actual stuff that she’s done over the seasons, and so we did not get her thoughts one way or the other on the matter.
“Beyond the Wilds”: So I like to talk a lot of crap, but here’s where I put my money where my mouth is. This entire episode was dedicated to two things: the culmination of Korra’s recovery arc and the relationship between Mako and Korra. They were together nearly the entire episode. They fought together in the Spirit Wilds while looking for Jinora, Mako had his “I’m here for you. What do you need?” line, Mako was the one that went with Korra to visit Zaheer, Mako had “the concerned look” (I’m pretty sure he’s patented that look) on his face when Korra went in to face Zaheer alone, etc etc. Nearly the entire episode was direct Mako-Korra interaction except for the brief “Fire Ferrets” moment with Bolin, the brief moment with Tenzin being an overprotective father, and the culmination of Korra’s recovery arc, facilitated by Zaheer. And who was there during this culmination to support Korra? Not Asami. She had a grand total of two lines the entire episode, both of which were spoken to Varrick.
“Operation Beifong”: Honestly, this applies throughout the season, because it’s brought up multiple times: Mako being protective of Korra and being disgusted by the idea of Wu attempting to date her/verbally refusing to set Wu and Korra up. I will freely admit this could be and probably is non-romantic in nature; Mako is probably just feeling protective of someone he cares about deeply and is disgusted by the idea of someone like Wu trying to date her. But still, it bears talking about, especially considering it’s brought up multiple times.
Also applies to the season as a whole: Mako’s general verbal and emotional support for Korra, often directly.
“The Last Stand”: there is one direct interaction and one indirect interaction. The indirect interaction occurs while they are searching for Korra after she creates the Spirit Portal. The “camera” does a close-up on Mako’s disapointed and upset face when Jinora says she can’t find her. The “camera” chooses not to show Asami’s reaction. And then their final interaction at the wedding, the one where he says “I’ll follow you into battle no matter how crazy things get. I have your back, and always will.” Pan to Korra’s happy face with wide eyes.
The screenshots/gifs to back me up:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Who supported Korra verbally and physically? Mako, not Asami. The only times we see Asami support Korra are the “I’m here to talk if you need me scene” and the tea scene in “Remembrances.” Who was there to support her during the culmination of her recovery arc and spiritual journey? Mako, not Asami. Which relationship did Remembrances focus on? The Asami-Mako-Korra relationship, not the Korra-Asami friendship/relationship. Who got an entire episode of essentially one-on-one time with Korra? Mako, not Asami. Who did the “camera” choose to focus on when they were searching for Korra? Mako, not Asami. Where was Asami? We don’t know. Not with Korra, by her side and supporting her like we would assume a FRIEND would do, not to mention a person who is going to be Korra’s future romantic interest. Who’s by her side? Mako.

Smokey brand Movie Reviews: A Real Kick in the Cunt
A while back, i saw this weirdly overproduced trailer for a flick call Promising Young Woman between Youtube videos and thought it looked interesting. I expected it to be kind of wonky. It felt like this sh*t should have went the way of, say, Terminal but i watched that so i figured why not watch this, too. I was intrigued by the look of the film and, after researching it a bit, found myself enthralled with the plot. In a year where the movie pickings are mad slim, will Promising Young Woman deliver?
The Good
Immediately, the music to this film hits you like a ton of bricks. You can tell that this soundtrack is going to be an intricate aspect of this cinematic experience. From the second that Charli XCX remix hits over those credits, you knew this was going to be an entire situation and i was totally down for it. This flick did not disappoint from that perspective.
I love the whole visual of this film. The way the camera frames everything, the saturation of color, the almost surreal nature of the visuals; They all coalesce into a real feast for the eyes. There is a very distinct presentation displayed and it feels as unique as a film like Atomic Blonde or Terminal. I kind of really love it.
Bro, i love this cast, man. It’s kind of amazing. Alison Brie, Clancy Brown, Jennifer Coolidge, Laverne Cox, Connie Britton, Molly Shannon, Alfred Molina, Adam Brody, Alex Greenfield and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Like, this thing is straight up loaded to the gills with that star talent. I mean, they even got McLovin in on the action and none of them disappoint. That said, this is definitely Carey Mulligan’s movie.
There is a level of chemistry that runs through every performance in this film. It’s actually preppy palpable. It enriches the very core of this film and makes each relationship feel incredibly authentic.
Carey Mulligan turns in an amazing performance as the lead, Cassie Thomas. She feels like an extension of such violent heroines as Asami Yamazaki from Audition or Jen from Revenge. Cassie is intelligent, calculating, captivating, amazingly charismatic, and terrifyingly sinister. There is a real, underlying, malevolence to Cassie and i ate it all up. Mulligan delivers this with such precision, it’s unnerving.
Bo Burnham was lovely in his role as the love interest, Ryan Cooper. He has this awkward, earnest, energy that s the perfect counter to the abject disdain that Mulligan festers. Dude has some stand out scenes that really show his range as an actor. Dude is one of the best of his generation, Eight Grade showed us that, and that excellence carries over to this role, too. I’m looking forward to what he does next.
Emerald Fennell really directs her ass of in this thing. I’m familiar with her work from Killing Eve, another excellent work, chock full of that potent female energy, and i loved that, too. I really enjoyed the look of this film, the feel of this presentation. There is a distinct passion behind the camera, like she knows this story and absolutely needs to tell it. That makes sense because she also wrote the thing. Definitely an auteur creator in the making. Considering this is literally Fennell’s directorial debut, i have to say, she has a bright future ahead of her.
I have to say, the pacing of this film is pretty brisk. It’s about seven minutes shy of two hours but never actually feels that way. Again, the deft touch from Fennell is definitely on display. One of the pitfalls of freshman directors is wonky pacing, most take a film or two to find that sweet spot, but Ferrell seems to have a handle on it out the gate.
The Okay
The plot isn’t rally anything new. It’s your basic revenge story with a bleaker ending than most but the devil is in the details. The strength of this narrative lies in the performances and the presentation. You’ve definitely seen this story told before, and probably better, but never like this. Assassination Nation and I Spit On Your Grave are similar takes on this type of plot. While the story being told is rather cliche to the point of being a sub-genre in it’s own right, how this trope is told makes for a great experience.
This thing is definitely a Carey Mulligan vehicle. That’s not a bad thing, per say, but the rest of this cast was amazing and we don’t get enough time with them. Alfred Molina and Laverne Cox steal every scene they’re in and i just wanted a little more time with them. Alas, it was not to be...
The Verdict
I really liked this movie, man. It is one of the best I've seen this year. One of but not the best. Promising Young Woman is gorgeous in every way that counts, with one of the strongest lead performances from Carey Mulligan i have ever seen her give. The direction is on point and the cinematography is absolutely stunning. Like, i really enjoy this camera work, man. The supporting cast is chock full of heavy-weights and they bring as much energy and believability to their roles as Mulligan. The only real downside is the fact that this story is a little cliche in the cinematic zeitgeist but what narratives aren’t? Is this flick perfect? No. But it is fun, engaging, and entertaining If you have the opportunity to check it out, definitely watch Promising Young Woman It dd not disappoint.

The 5th Wheel
Tumblr media
Word Count: 1.5k
A/N: I made Eduardo kinda an asshole oops...in honor of now all 7 of my friends now having boyfriends/girlfriends! Really relating to my boy Virgil lately...don’t worry I’m doing fine, I’m an independent woman who don’t need no mans/woman’s! (Thought I WILL accept applications from Ava Ayala and Tye Longshadow👀. I GUESS I could make an exception) also there’s a tiny Powerman and Iron Fist cameo in here!
Virgil followed behind, like he always did. He watched as you and Eduardo talked Tye and Asami’s ears off about some stupid date you two went on. Virgil felt a pang in his heart when Eduardo leaned down and kissed you on the cheek, and his eyes drifted to Tye and Asami’s hands, fingers intertwined with each other.
He always felt left out, more lately than ever. Ever since you an Eduardo became a thing and Tye and Asami revealed they’d been dating the whole time. You were always doing “couple stuff” now. You always invited Virgil, but even when he was physically there with you all, he always felt like he wasn’t. Like now, you would often forget he was there. It hurt even more because he had always liked you, ever since escaping the Reach together. He wanted to make his move, but Eduardo had confided in him and told Virgil about his crush on you. Virgil, being the good best friend that he was, stepped back and even set you two up. It hurt to do, but he wanted his best friend and his crush to be happy.
He never let any of you know how he was feeling, though. He continued making jokes and teasing each couple, as if nothing was wrong. Virgil didn’t want any of you worrying about him, and he certainly didn’t want anybody to know he was pining after you. That would cause a whole bunch of drama he didn’t need, nor want.
When you all got to your destination, the skatepark, Tye shouted: “Virgil! I bet I can do a better 360 than you!”
“Oh, you’re on, man!” Virgil grinned, temporarily forgetting about his loneliness.
After him and Tye had their little competition (Tye won, of course. The bastard), Virgil just skated. Skateboarding always cleared his mind, let him focus on one thing for a little while that didn’t involve himself getting hurt. Well, emotionally that is.
“Oh shit!” Virgil suddenly realized he was speeding right at you, and before he could stop it, he crashed.
Virgil groaned as he got up, eyes widening when he realized where he was; on top of you, hands on either side of your head. He felt his face heat up as he heard Tye laughing, Eduardo rushing over to the both of you.
“Are you guys okay?” Eduardo asked, biting back his own laughter.
Virgil couldn’t move, he felt paralyzed. The girl he’d been in love with for almost a year now, was right below him, her face inches away from his. He wanted nothing more than to fill the gap and kiss her, but he couldn’t do that to you or his best friend.
“Virgil? You good?” You asked timidly, worried by the strange expression on his face. He was uncharacteristically quiet, and his eyebrows were furrowed in worry.
“Um...Yeah, Uh...I’m sorry.” He quickly climbed off of you. Eduardo was staring at him, both concern and irritation in his eyes.
“Dude, what’s up?” Eduardo asked, suspicious of his best friends behavior.
“Uh...what?” Virgil asked, panic rising in his stomach. He was already flustered from being so close to you, and now his friend was starting to put the pieces together.
“You...are you serious?!” Eduardo started to get angry, realizing his friends feelings for you.
He’d always suspected it, Eduardo wasn’t blind. He could see even the tiniest glint of hurt in Virgil’s eyes whenever he kissed you or brought you up in conversation. What he didn’t know was how long Virgil had liked you, but if he did he would’ve gone a whole lot easier on him.
“What’s wrong with you, dude?” Eduardo glared at Virgil.
“What is going on?” Asami asked, looking between the two boys.
“Virgil’s a creep!” Eduardo spat, then erupted into curses directed at him. He was rapidly speaking in Spanish, so fast none of the Runaways could understand what he was saying.
“And you’re a dick!” Virgil yelled in his face.
“You’re the one who can’t get a girlfriend so you have to try and steal mine!” Eduardo snapped.
“Lalo!” You scolded.
Virgil became enraged, it felt like a stab to the heart. A kick in the gut. He shoved Eduardo back, making his best friend angrier and throw a punch towards him. Virgil dodged it, swinging back and punching Eduardo in the face. Eduardo held his now bloody nose, before kneeing Virgil in the stomach.
“Hey! That’s enough!” Tye yelled at them, grabbing the backs of their hoods and prying them off each other. “You’re acting like children!”
“What is the matter with you two?” You scolded them, Asami rolling her eyes in disapproval.
“Man, let go, man!” Virgil swatted Tye’s hand off of him, not taking his stare off of Eduardo. “You’re such as asshole, dude! You’re lucky I’m such a nice person or I guarantee you never woulda gotten with her in the first place!”
“Excuse me?” You cross your arms and raise an eyebrow at him.
“Man, you’re all blind! Y/N, I’ve liked you ever since the Reach, man! In fact, I was about to tell you but then Eduardo told me he liked you! So I stepped back, cause I’m a good friend! Unlike you, dude! None of y’all hardly notice me anymore, it’s all double dates now! I’m done!”
Virgil shook his head, grabbed his skateboard and stormed off. You all watched him leave, shocked at his outburst. Virgil was such a chill and cool guy, he’s never been angry in his life.
Eduardo felt like a jerk, he didn’t even realize what Virgil had been going through this whole time. Some best friend he was...
“We really messed up.” Tye finally let go of Eduardo’s hood, realizing he was still holding him back.
“I gotta go talk to him.” Eduardo mumbled, stepping on his skateboard and grabbing it.
Eduardo rushed after Virgil, running to the street corner he saw him disappear behind. He didn’t see Virgil anywhere, but knew where he was headed.
Eduardo skated down the street, arriving at an old school diner, Luke and Danny’s. This was him and Virgil’s personal hangout, they liked the vibe and the burgers. He walked in, seeing Virgil sitting at the bar counter with a soda. Eduardo went to the jukebox and played ‘No Scrubs’ by TLC, which was the song him and Virgil would play on repeat just to see how many times they could before Luke or Danny banner them from playing another song. Their high score was 8.
Virgil turned around when he heard the song start to play, sending a glare at Eduardo. He turned back around, ignoring him as he sat in the seat beside him.
“Dr. Pepper, please?” Eduardo asked Luke, the waiter behind the counter.
“What are you doing here?” Virgil asked, venom dripping in his voice.
“Just chillin.”
“Cut the crap, man. What do you want?” Virgil rolled his eyes, looking at anything but Eduardo.
“I wanted to apologize, esé.” Eduardo said quietly as Luke set down the glass of sizzling Dr. Pepper. “I didn’t know.”
“I know that.” Virgil scoffed.
“I’m serious, Virgil.” Eduardo looked at him. “I was way out of line. If I had known you liked her first I would’ve-“
“No dude. She likes you. There’s nothing either of us can do about that. This isn’t anyone’s fault, I overreacted.”
“No you didn’t. I was a total Tonto del culo, vato.” Eduardo said as Virgil finally looked him in the eyes, expression softening.
“Yeah, you were.” He gave a small grin. “Sorry for punching you in the face.”
“Sorry for kicking you in the balls.”
“You wish you did, dude.” Virgil chuckled.
“I’m serious though, for leaving you out. None of us realized we were doing that. I promise it’s not gonna happen again.”
“Of course it’ll happen again, y’all can still go on double dates Y’know. Just make sure to invite me once in awhile.”
“We cool?” Eduardo held out a hand.
“We’re cool.” Virgil smiled, taking his hand and half hugging him.
“Any food today, boys?” Luke asked, drying some dishes.
“Usual, man.” Eduardo nodded.
“Got it.” Luke nodded before handing off a ticket to the chef, Danny.
“So, how are you and Y/N?” Virgil asked.
“We don’t have to talk about-“
“Nah, I want to, man.” Virgil interrupted him.
“We’re doing fine. Took her to that dumb Ryan Gosling movie that just came out.”
“Man, you don’t like Ryan Gosling?” Virgil raised an eyebrow.
“Not when he’s shirtless and that’s why she wanted to see it!” Eduardo exclaimed, making Virgil laugh.
It was good to have his friend back, even if they were only fighting for a whole half an hour. Virgil even got some closure over you, maybe he’d move on soon. He had to eventually, nothing was gonna get in the way of their friendship. Not even a girl.

DEADLY DANCE:
—————————-
Story Summary: Korra Kuruk is an eighteen year old agent of The Air Temple Agency that has been tasked with bringing a rival company’s top teen agent to justice for her crimes. Korra, code name Water Tribe, must figure out what the true identity of the elusive Metal Bender is and what heinous acts her villainous agency is currently planning. How will Korra handle finding out her target is the one person she least expected and what will she do when that same person needs saving?
Deadly Dance : Chapter One : Little Miss Perfect
Kuvira shut her eyes tightly, taking a deep breath through her nose until it filled every inch of her lungs. She slowly let it out once she couldn’t take in any more oxygen and opened her eyes with new determination, deep breath centering her thoughts and calming any nerves that might be lingering. She could feel the whole room’s eyes on her, whole class practically on the edge of their seats as they watched her prepare for the final part of the combination. Kuvira smirked, an evil, sly smirk that would have easily given away her true personality if any of her peers were actually that observant. Fortunately, they were all far to enthralled with her movement, eyes widening as she extended her arms and raised her head. A beat, and she was off, turning and waltzing like she was floating through the air as the music rose in volume. She could feel the sweat running down the sides if her face, causing her skin to itch, but she couldn’t care less, she was electric right now, practically on fire as she completed all the steps without a hitch. Her face never broke from the innocent and vulnerable look of the character she was playing. Her limbs were long and free, passion practically seeping from every pore as the combination came to a close. She ended the fouetté sequence flawlessly, face refusing to show how increasingly uncomfortable her pointe shoes became pain an afterthought to the captivating performance she was seconds away from nailing. With one last turn, she took her ending position, chest slowly rising and falling as the music faded away to silence.
“Absolutely fantastic as always, Kuvira! Everyone please give her a round of applause.” The teacher said enthusiastically, smile wide as she praised her best student.
Kuvira smiled softly as she bowed for the applause from the class. The praise was cut short as the third period bell had rang, meaning they had spent their five minute time period for changing back into their normal clothes watching Kuvira complete the combination.
“Oh, spirits! That’s the bell, sorry I kept you everyone! Hurry and change, those of you headed to lunch should be fine but I’ll write slips for anyone who is going to a class period! Hurry, hurry! Great work today!” The teacher said as her students scrambled around the room.
Kuvira quickly dropped to the floor, hastily taking off her pointe shoes and shoving them into her dance bag. She jogged to the dressing room and begun to change, ripping off her constricting tights and deciding to exchange her bra for her leotard to save time. She finished pulling her skirt on and adjusted her turtle neck, haphazardly slipping on her sneakers as she rushed out of the door.
Luckily for her, the lunch room was only a couple doors down, unluckily for her however, she didn’t pack a lunch and waiting in the line is known to take half of their lunch period. She pushed passed some students in the hallway, raising the tone of her voice to give half hearted apologies as she did so, not that they knew that of course. When she finally made it to the lunch room she scanned the area for the table with her friends, smiling once she caught sight of them.
Being at this school was her least favorite thing ever so the fact she had actually found a couple people that cared enough to talk to her had been a blessing.
“Nice job today, Kuvira!”
“You totally owned that combo! I wish I could dance like that!”
“You should be proud of yourself.”
The praises weren’t new to her so Kuvira simply offered a smile and a couple thank you’s as she reached the table.
“Well if it isn’t the swan princess herself.” Wing teased as she sat down.
“Haha, very funny, Wing. I told you not to call me that when we’re not in practice, especially because we aren’t even doing that ballet this year.” Kuvira said light heartedly as she pulled out her makeup compact.
“My apologies, Great Uniter.” He said with a bow and smirk. The Avatar ballet had been widely requested by everyone in the dance department and Kuvira was beyond happy when she got picked to play the avatar’s ultimate rival, The Great Uniter.
“How was class?” Baatar asked shyly, barely making eye contact with her as he did so.
“It was fine, my feet are killing me but ballet is my second favorite dance class so I don’t mind.” She replied sweetly as she put on her eyeliner.
“I’ll never understand how you can do that so flawlessly, are you just perfect or something?” Wei asked as he practically inhaled one of his spring rolls.
“I wouldn’t say “perfect”, just skilled.” She lied, adding a sharp tail to the liner. She was playing a character right now and, sadly, acting cocky wasn’t in the script.
“I just don’t get how she got here so fast!” Korra panted, placing her backpack on the floor as she slumped on the table. She had gotten lost in the sea of people all trying to get to lunch on time from dance and had to race to avoid the hall monitor.
“Maybe you’re slower than you thought.” Mako joked, offering her part of his sandwich like he always does. He loved Korra to death but that girl was so frantic she basically forgot her lunch three times a week.
“Must you bully me after I almost got trampled in the hallway, again?! I’m hurting.” She pouted, taking her half of the sandwich from him and eating most of it in one go.
“Maybe if you actually started telling Mrs. Xiao when you have five minutes left of class you’d be here on time.” Asami smirked, not even looking up from her chemistry homework to tease the panting girl.
“I would have but she was too busy watching Kuvira prance around the room.” Korra said with her mouth full, rolling her eyes as she thought of the older dancer flawlessly completing that day’s combination.
“I’ll never understand why she gets under your skin so bad, Kor, she’s literally an angel. Honestly, I don’t even think she’d hurt a fly if she had the chance. Besides, you guys are rivals in the ballet, not real life.” Bolin said, blowing on his noodles to cool them down before sucking them up violently.
“And I don’t see why you don’t, just look at her! Being the center of attention every chance she gets.” Korra pouted, gesturing to the girl doing her makeup in her small hand held mirror a couple tables down.
“Are you gonna leave your hair like that the whole day?” Huan asked Kuvira, face contouring to a grimace.
“Shoot, (spirits, she wishes she could’ve cursed) I didnt even notice, thanks, Huan.” She said, placing the compact down so she could dig through her bag for a brush. She always forgot to take her hair out of her ballet bun and Huan, being the guy who was absolutely incapable of staying out of other people’s fashion choices, never let her forget. Kuvira still remembers how she had to force a smile and act like she didn’t want to bust his jaw that one time he said she looked like a snob when her hair was up.
He was right of course, but it still annoyed her.
Kuvira pulled out the brush she was looking for and set it on the table as she started removing the bobby pins from her hair. She smiled a bit to herself as she got the last one out, her favorite part was next, letting her hair down as she felt everyone watch.
She let the bun unravel as she gracefully shook her head, long, dark waves cascading down her back, almost reaching her butt. Honestly, she needed a trim, she’d have to remind Unalaq to make time in her schedule to get one.
Kuvira picked up the brush and ran it through her hair just enough to make it look neat but not enough to brush out the waves. She could feel several eyes on her, both male and female, as she did so. Kuvira wasn’t oblivious, despite how she acted as her character, she knew she was way above average in looks and she liked the eyes on her, craved them even. She opened her eyes and smiled as she caught Baatar looking at her.
Kuvira liked catching him watching her the most because she knew he’d never have a chance with her, no matter how much he wanted one.
“Looks like the line is shorter now, I’m gonna go grab lunch.” She said sweetly, quickly whipping her head around to eye how many people were still waiting in the line. She was fast enough to identify ten sets, five more than last time, of eyes on her before they frantically looked away as she searched for eye contact. She stood up and flipped her hair, strutting to the lunch line with an innocent smile.
“Ok, but it’s not her fault she’s gorgeous, Korra, that’s hardly a reason to hate her.” Bolin said, back at their table, pulling Korra out of her daze as she watched the older girl strut to the lunch line.
“I never said I hated her, she just...bugs me...” Korra replied, crossing her arms with a huff. Ever since the first day Kuvira had transferred to their school something about her seemed too good to be true, leaving a nasty taste in Korra’s mouth when interacting with the older girl.
“If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you have a crush on her, Kor.” Asami said, finally looking up from her, now finished, homework to quirk her brow at the pouty girl.
“Wha-no. No! I do not have a crush on little miss perfect, sprits!” Korra said, annoyance clear in her voice as she furrowed her brow at her friend’s accusatory tone.
“Whatever you say, you should really just ask her to the formal in two months.” Mako said before he drank from his water bottle.
“I will not! I don’t even like her like that. Tui and La you guys are impossible!” Korra said, standing up from her seat and heading to the lunch line—because she was hungry! Not so she could stand next to Kuvira, she had more dignity than that thank you very much.
“Hey, Kuvira! How are you today?” Ms. Li, one of the lunch ladies said sweetly.
“I am great, Yuyan, thank you for asking. How about yourself?” Kuvira replied politely. That was one thing Unalaq could never shake from her, her manners for people less fortunate than she was. She had spent a lot of time talking to the school staff when she first got this assignment, she would tell her bosses it’s so she could find her target quicker but that was all a lie. To most, she might be considered to be on the wrong side of history, even if she thought that was nonsense, but that didn’t mean she was soulless. She only wanted the best for these people, why would she be cold if she didn’t have to be?
“Well, I could be better, these kids really don’t know how to say a simple please and thank you. It, um, it gets to you sometimes, you know? But, hey, I guess it could always be worse. Thank you so much for ask—Oh! That reminds me, me and a couple of the other lunch ladies made this for you, since you are such a big help around here.” Ms. Li said, reaching behind her to grab a small chocolate cupcake before handing it to Kuvira.
“Thank you so much, it looks delicious.” Kuvira said, accepting the sweet treat and placing it on her tray with the rest of her food.
“Of course! Anything for our favorite student. Congratulations on getting the part of The Great Uniter by the way, we look forward to seeing you shine!” Ms. Li smiled.
Kuvira smiled brightly as she punched in her lunch number, swiping her school card quickly. She appreciated the praise and she new she deserved it, but too much of it could make her uncomfortable. She said one more thank you to Ms. Li and headed back to her table.
As she was walking however, she almost ran right into someone who was clearly not watching where they were going. If she had been anyone else, her tray would’ve went flying, along with the items on it, and there’d be a huge mess, luckily she wasn’t anyone else. She was Kuvira, member of the Metal clan, the most highly trained spy organization in the world, and she’d be damned if she let her special cupcake get squashed. She easily spun around the person, gracefully hoping one of the railings to catch her airborne tray, every single item she had purchased returning to their places. Well, all except her juice box, which was still airborne, about to land on the ground behind her. She whipped her head back around and made a move to catch it but instead saw her onstage rival, The Avatar, played by Korra Kuruk, hopping the same railing to catch the juice box before it hit the ground, her own lunch items fully intact on her own tray despite the vigorous movement.
“I am so sorry about that! Here, wouldn’t want you to lose this.” Korra said apologetically as she held out the juice box to a wide eyed Kuvira.
As soon as they made eye contact Korra seemed to have picked up on what had actually happened, her own eyes going wide as Kuvira snatched the juice box from her hands.
Before either of them could say anything, the pieces finally falling into place and their initial shock quickly flipping to furry, the fire alarm went off, blaring loudly in everyone’s ears and causing several people, excluding Korra and Kuvira of course, to flinch in their seats. They had been trained better than to get startled by a sudden noise.
“Ok, ok, everyone please grab your phones, and I mean only your phones, and exit the building!” One of the lunch monitors said, ushering kids out of the back entrance so they could head to the field.
Both girls glared at each other, breath heavy in a rage as they did so, before going their separate ways to their respective tables. Kuvira grabbed her phone and followed Baatar out of the lunch room, not bothering to look back at Korra. Nobody at her table asked questions, not having been paying attention to Kuvira when she left the table.
Korra however, returned to a table full of wide eyes and slacked jaws, her friends having watched the whole ordeal after Korra bailed at the mention of a crush.
“That was some ninja shit, Korra! Wh- How- When! When did you even learn how to do that?!” Wu asked, most likely coming off of his hall monitor shift to eat lunch with them moments before the alarm sounded.
“Movies. Come on, we need to get outside.” She said, anger clouding her eyes and lowering her voice. Nobody asked any more questions and, even if they wanted to, Korra was already walking away, one foot out of the door
One thing’s for sure, Korra now had more reason than ever to hate Kuvira.
Kuvira was undoubtably the Metal Clan Protegé that Korra was tasked with arresting for crimes against the environment and the less fortunate.
