Was the Sudo born with honor and status?
Nothing in canon indicates what his backstory is, But there are some clues here and there over what Sudo’s back stroy is. Especially, through his odd relationship/friendship with Sakazaki. But from that — i think we can somewhat assume that Sudo was not from any elite family or came from wealth, or status.
Tumblr media
Its cannon that Sudo and Sakazaki the two have known each other for a long time — they were childhood friends. I can not see Sakazaki as being from a well bred family (LOL HE’S A GORRILLA!) so I’ve got to say that Sudo and Sakazaki where probably from the same class.
I don’t necessarily think there is any indication they were object poor— this line Sakzaki says about them being punks may suggest that they were once street delinquents, which does make them sound like maybe they were poor. BUT remember Akihito too has some delinquency past, even though he seems to be from a middle class family. But I think its safe to say Sudo was definitely not in the same circles that Asami and his family was in.
If I had to guess I would say I believe Sudo worked his way up from the bottom, his story arch points to him being a self-made man who possibly started with nothing. One who became extremely ambitious and greedy — if he was already rich would he feel the need to want to prove himself and be as greedy as he’s shown to be? It’s still possible he could have a secret backstory. But I think his behavior has shown us that he DESPERATELY wants and seeks out that status and honor.
The other reason i think this is because he kinda screams — new money. I dont know compared to Asami who is a kinda relaxed wealthy - quiet luxury if you will. Meanwhile Sudo was first introduced to us while he was driving a porche with its top down in the middle of winter. He is shown to us as kinda flashy type!
The club he manages as well, Dracaena, is also said to be not the same as Asami’s Club Sion. It was said that Club Sion is classy and for older elite crowd (OLD MONEY crowd!) Whilst Club Dracaena was more youthful, glitzy, and hip (Aka. New Money Crowd). The connections he made were maybe not with tokyo’s elite — like asami but with other wealthy types (NEW MONEY AGAIN). Which also i think tells me he is not from wealth. His business did well because he targetted a different audience of wealthy people.
Obviously this is just my speculation given what we know. There could be some back story to him that made him this way — like he was from a wealthy family but they lost everything and thats why he’s desperate to get back in the “in crowd”. Or some other villian troupe like a rich person who can never have enough and still wants more and more!
I sorta think it suits him more, and maybe it makes me respect him a little bit, if he was someone who clawed his way up to his position and thats why he’s so desperate to hold on to everything that he can. Holding on to some delulu idea that Asami could somehow cement his place in the upper echelons of society.
It’s his ambitious granduer is what ultimately is his undoing.

How old are the characters in Finder's work now? At first, Asami was 35 years old and Aki was 23 years old. How old did they become over time?
Sensei herself has said they will forever be that age!
LOL
But it is my belief that at least close to a year and half has happened since they’ve met in ch 1 — somewhere along that lines. Probably living together for only a few month. I would guess in the range of 3-6 months — before the events of pray in abyss arch where they get basically kicked out of Asami’s penthouse.

Were there frequent references to Aki's father in the works?
Nope! LOL
I wish i could give a better answer then that — but he is only mentioned once by Sensei who said he was a photographer and that Akihito’s earlest childhood memory was being chased around by his father screaming, after he had broken one of his fathers favorite camera’s. This is mentioned i think in one of the character books, or trivia pages or something so not even in the story.
There is one other vague reference to Akihito’s parents — but its so vague i don’t know if you can call it that…
In the Naked Truth Arch, when Aki basically thinks he’s gonna die. He has one singular line where he says something along the lines of “Sorry Mom, sorry dad— i guess this is the end!” Some kind of good bye— so i suppose it is canon that they are both still alive.

For how long Asami was training as a soldier ? Means , I want to ask where he was trained from childhood to kill or torture enemies?and about school, must be home schooled and how do you think Asami and papa Asami used to interact with each other ?
We have no clear answers on a lot of asami’s youth - but given some hints and clues in the lite novel No Souen we learn that by the time he was 17 he was already a pretty experienced cold blooded killer. The events in No Souean cause him to basically go on a rampage and kill a few gangsters which he easily does — which in turn need to be cleaned up by his father. After which we know he was forced, as recompense for his father cleaning up that mess, he is forced to move back with his father. It’s a little while later that he presumably meets Alex in the same mercenary division that Maxim was a captain in. So he was basically being a child solider for his father at around 18-19. Trained even earlier then that.
We also know from No Souen that at 17, the high school he attended along side Kuroda was his first real opportunity at normal schooling — presumably he was homeschooled before that point.
I feel the father was never really around and even in no soeun Asami is not really ever directly speaking to his father. The father just sends goons basically to relay messages to him. So my guess is that he probably hardly interacted with his father face to face.
And given that at this point Asami seemed to hate his father and wanted out of the organization — or at least a shot at normalcy. I think it’s safe to say that whenever they were face to face they were not on good terms with each other.

In reality, young photographers are hard to see, and Aki did photo shoots and wedding photoshoots even at the young age of 23. Is Aki recognized as a photographer? I wonder how Aki became a photographer. I heard there was also a teacher. Did you get a photographer license in the process? I hope Sensi will give me various information 🤭
Given he is a freelancer I would say he isn’t a fairly established photographer, nor a recognized one. It is hard being a photographer in this day and age, freelancing means he is living off contract by contract. So he does not yet have a long term contract — aka a full time job. Usually photographers have like one niche thing they do and they stick to it - and yes i think he wants his niche thing to be crime related journalism. But the fact he seems to be doing everything under the sun — tells me that he is for now just trying to stay afloat and doing any job he can get and that he isn’t getting enough jobs in that one niche he wants to work in.
I believe Akihito became a photographer in part because his father was one. Thats probably were the inital interest started. Yes he does briefly mention he has a teacher but we never hear anything about it, which I sorta would like an elebroation on. And of course i’d love to hear about Akihito’s family. If it was his father that inspired him, I would love to know more.
Also no such thing as a photographer license! You dont need a license to photograph — you just need experience to probably land jobs.

What do you think of Aki's features and body??(My question sounds like a pervert😅)
Sorry for the super late response LOL I only just realized I have an index box with a ton of old messages I never saw before 😙
Not gonna lie yeah ur question does sound a little perverted 🤭🤭 but y’know u are among friends in this genre 😂
I answered a similar question before, about whether I think Akihito is a great beauty? but i’ll answer again for emphasis 👌
There is common troupe in BL’s, that i think fits Akihito to a tee..
The troupe is basically this — Normal, average dude becomes the uke for a seme who is ridiclously handsome, successful and rich. Yet despite their difference in status and the uke having supposedly an average apparance, he is still flooded with admirers who openly want him to break up with boyfriend and pursue him. The story ultimatly makes the line blurry over which of the male leads — the uke or the seme is the actual catch! And it is somewhat reveals that the uke is the one that is special, desirable, and actually incrediably physically attractive.
In this way. Akihito looks are kinda deceiving. Where does he fit in this troupe? Is he actually a great beauty or is he just a normal guy with a heart of gold that people become attached to.
This is hard to answer because Asami did not approach Akihito because of he was touched by kindness — which is often how the above BL troupe plays out in other Manga’s. Asami approached him for very impure reasons. Probably to purposefully sully that “heart of gold” I mean he does love a good challenge! I tend to say that I actually do believe that Akihito is actually very good looking, and his must be body noticably good — and that this was the real reason Asami first approached him. He was more interested in Akihito’s physical body then anything else— and only later found out about his whole heart of gold trait which I think became the reason Asami stayed.
But here is also what i mean when I say Akihito’s looks are deceiving. He is a guy who is frequently described by fic writers and by sensei her self, as someone who doesn’t put a lot of effort into his looks. He wears causal street clothing, jeans and Tshirts. His hair is sorta wild and spikey. He is described as a delinquent - but internally he is not one at all! In fact he has very strong morales but for some reason he doesn’t care if people thinks he is one based on his appearances. Which tells me he simply does not care about his outward appearance.
In contrast we have Asami - he wears neatly pressed and polished suits. Which are frequently said to be custom made! He slicks his hair back every morning. His neatly polished outward appearances is in contrast with his real life underworld crime boss persona. Which in Japan — is in total contrast with peoples ideas about what “bad people” look like. Yakuza’s have a specific aesthetic that is very identifiable (espeically in manga) but Asami just does not fit that at all! And that in a way is meant to be the irony of their characters.
Akihito looks like delinquent but he isn’t one. Asami looks like a clean cut upright business man - but he isn’t one! Both very deliberately chooses.
Anyway the reason I point this all out is because - it’s my personal belief that Akihito is actually extremely good looking and eye catching! Enough that his physical apparance was enough to catch Asami’s eye. But because of how he presents himself outwardly— you might not realize it right away. But Asami I think has an eye for these things. He has an eye for talent, one might say! I think he saw right through Akihito and knew he was something special.
We know Akihito must meet basic standard of attractiveness - y know having clear skin, nice teeth and smile, youthfulness. But In a way I think you might think he is attractive but not worth a secound glance- and that is where I think he is deceiving. Because he has the type attractiveness that you maybe wouldn’t notice on first glance. I often say that Akihito looks are like diamond in the rough kind thing — I think he is really a hidden prince under neath an exterior that is rather shaby. He has an outer shell that is kinda rugged and unruly — it’s hard to see past. Especially in a place like Japan were outward apparances mean a lot.
This idea of Akihito’s looks being fairly innocuous is confirmed by the many associates of Asami who repeatably are shocked that Asami even associates with Akihito. It’s not shock over Asami being in a relationship with a man— its shock that Akihito seems so plain. Akihito is seen as an outlier in Asami’s life. The people around Asami see Akihito as Below Average—In comparison to the grandeur and status that Asami has.
If Asami is this powerful person — shouldn’t he have the best of the best? But instead he keeps this grungy teenager looken dude around?? To their eyes it makes no sense. No body cares about what Akihito’s abilities are, or if he’s kind or talented, because in their eyes Akihito is just a boy toy. Yet, they don’t get what his appeal is. They questioning their relationship because of Akihito’s unassuming, and delinquent apparance— which is in such contrast to Asami’s clean cut business like outward appearance.
Y’know what I mean. Maybe they can agree that Akihito is good looking but he still clashs with Asami’s persona. Although their contrast i think has always been this manga’s charm.
Almost all the characters have said something allong the lines of what’s so special about him?? Mikhail in their first meeting on the boat in Hong Kong arch, Kuroda too— saying its one of Asami’s “whims”. It was really only Fei Long who knew right away that Akihito must be “one of Asami’s” as he said during their first meeting, and he immediately saw that Akihito was physically attractive with “fine skin”.
The Sudo arch, where Sudo repeatably expresses a confusion and jealous over Akihito’s presence in Asami’s life! Obviously his questioning of their relationship is rooted in jealousy. But he also has, I think, good reason to wonder what hold Akihito has on Asami. In his eyes he has given everything to be Asami’s best guy— litterally bending over backwards to be noticed but it still it has no affect. Meanwhile, in Sudo’s eyes Akihito is unrefined, and unfit for the likes of Asami. This arc is interesting for a number of reasons, and I am gonna go off on a tangent talking about it. Because i think it’s really not an accident that Akihito and Sudo are meant to be visually similar.
Sudo is presented to us as almost a “better” version of Akihito. We know he obviously cant hold a candle to our boy!… but he is in a way a version of Akihito that is more mature, business savy, cleaner cut, stylish and trendy in all the ways that Akihito is NOT. He’s sophiscated, he effectively runs one of Asami’s clubs, he’s in the same circles that Asami is in. He was successfully for some time, and he did it all for Asami — all with a mindset that if he could be Asami’s most useful person — Asami would finally pay attention to him. Akihito at least views Sudo as someone who would be a better equal for Asami — compared to himself which he views negatively. Though this is all through Akihito’s insecure eyes — the audience learns early that Asami has no particular feeling towards Sudo at all and actually the “qualities” Sudo have — his ambition and greed are all things Asami AVOID’s when it comes to potential love interest.
But the point is— they all don’t understand the appeal that is — until they are maybe face to face with him that they get it. Even Mikhail, who seems only ever interested in Fei Long, points out early on that it’s Akihito’s body that Fei and Asami are fighting over during the naked arch truth. And it somewhat happens a lot during the story, someone will be unimpressed with Akihito and then they strip him on his clothing and suddenly!! It’s like Akihito is a different person in their eyes- Asami, fei long, Yuri, sakazaki all where enticed by his allure - even Mikhail had to admit that it was his body that was seducing people! Sudo too gets increasingly petty about Akihito and later accuses him of “climbing into Asami’s bed” —and weirdly despite being totally hot for Asami, Sudo ends up using Akihito to get off sexually.
Akihito is of course, very unaware of his own sexual appeal. He is able to hide in plain sight when you think about it. All behind a sorta boyish immature-ness. He flies under the radar for a lot of people. Until you very suddenly become aware of him.
On a side note— Can you imagine a world in which Akihito cleaned himself up and put himself together. Made himself look more like Asami— I think he might become too powerful!! I am sure Asami perfers him like this — he is already dealing with enough competition as it is!

I wonder if Aki's house is rich, not as much as Asami. Aki became independent as soon as he became an adult, but he probably couldn't afford it financially. I think Aki's parents gave Aki money.
I wonder how Aki has an expensive camera. 🤭 Aki's father may have been a successful cameraman.
(I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with English, so please understand😅)
Hello anon!
Iv actually been asked several times about this, and i’ve answer it already a few times. So ill show you towards those post so you get the bigger picture.
But in short, you are right there is a lot of evidence that suggest that Akihito is some kind of nepobaby - or other wise comes from a family that is well off. I have guessed that Akihito’s father is maybe a well known photographer, which is maybe why he has some connections in the photography industry. and why he is able to afford a 2 bedroom apartment, and be somewhat financially okay despite his unstable yearly earnings.
He is maybe not as financially successful as Asami’s family seems to be - we know from Finder No Souen that Asami’s mother was a social lite and he attending basically a very prestigious elite prep school.
So on another note I do find it interesting that there is a constant flow of hits that Aki takes from being an assumed nepo baby - but i find that a little ironic when its somewhat clear to me that the biggest nepo baby of them all is clearly Asami! Aki is at best - from a stable upper middle class family who support him on the sideline. Asami on the other hand is from the top 1% and you can’t tell me that his entire underground career grow to what it is today, on the back of contacts he made thru his father. Asami i think props himself up as a self-made man but lets be real - Asami wouldnt be in the position he is in today if his father didn’t teach him everything he knows.

I wonder if Aki and Asami have ever been in a relationship before they found out. Of course, neither of them seem interested in dating. 😅
I have to agree i dont think either of them were ever interested in datng other people, or truly thought about dating that much.
For Asami - he is the kind of person who hardly has relationships with people at all - like i am talking about just friendship, let alone romantic relationships! I have always HC’ed that Asami has never brought any of his dates home. But Akihito was the exception to that rule. Given his promiscuity i feel he just had people he around him that were there for sex only, and he had no interest in them romantically. Or probably no interest even sexually - like he would just use them to slate himself.
In finder no souen, which is about Asami as a teenager, it was said that he was kind of the person who would say yes to anyone if they asked-and it sounded like there were a lot of them. But i really don’t see him seeing a sexual partner long term, or even consider something like dating. I feel like its was a rarity he even wanted Akihito to live with him, because i dont think he ever imagined he’d live with anyone.
Akihito on the other hand. I dont know, i am sure he’s thought about dating, or settling down or his future and what not. I feel like at the time he met asami he was still young, so didn’t really know what he wanted in that future - it felt too far off for him. At the time we meet him, he seems so focused on his career. On his camera’s - that i feel he felt he never had the time to add a relationship into that equation. Or that it would be too much of a bother to do so. I HC him as someone who was actually very stiffly in denial about his gayness - asami i think is bisexual. But Akihito i think he was closeted for a long time. And he used the excuse that he was busy with his career as a way to deflect against why he couldnt or wouldnt be in a relationship with a woman.

What other photos does Aki take besides crime scene photos?📷
His favorite is obviously crime-related photography - it matches so well with his daredevil personality. But obviously, the guy’s got to make a living! He is known as a freelancer - so his job is based on short-term contracts and varies depending on the contract.
Canonly Akihito has been seening doing wedding photography - at least at Takato’s wedding. Which i thought i might add because it seems unlike him do something like that 🤭🤭
I think he also must do political-related photography - the first episode was about him catching a diet member, a politician, doing something shady. There is also an early episode, where Akihito was supposed to interview a politician. But a senior photographer at his magazine takes over his assignment and Aki’s left being the bag boy. They go to that politician's office, or his private house or something, and they get kinda brushed aside and they have to wait in the waiting room for hours. Meanwhile, Asami shows up at the same offices, and he’s immediately shown in to see the politician. Akihito was so mad during that episode 🤭
And I am just remembering that during that crossover episode with Sensei’s other BL when aki goes to Kyoto with those high schoolers. Those kids' fathers were politicians, and Aki knew all about them. I think it's implied he knows about them because of his job. Later too, those high schools break into private rooms in a hotel - thinking their dads are there but it's some other politician. Akihito comes and smooths things over, by more or less threatening that he’s a journalist - and isn't it interesting that this politician is meeting with a construction company (aka they were doing something shady) Aki was quite smart in that episode- he saw right away that he was acutally witnessing corruption.
He’s been shown doing various celebrity-related photography. The stalker case he worked on, and meeting and working with Ai who is a Japanese idol. There was another small scene of him taking a photograph of a celebrity who was on trial for something, and Akihito got a snap of him looking smug after he left the trial. In the episode where Akihito gets those chocolate aphrodisiacs, he says that he was going to that drug dealer because a celebrity was seen going there - so that case while ended up being criminal-related was celebrity news.
He also seems to do studio photography as well, aka working in photography with models. Probably for certain ad campaigns or something. That fireworks episode - he was late to see the fireworks with asami because a model he was working with was refusing to the shot and was being difficult. The episode of Aki’s birthday where he gets a new suit - all starts with him doing some kind of photo shot with Ai and her friends, who invite him to something where he needs a suit.
Overall, for his work, he seems to be mostly interested in any kind of news photography. I have always HC Akihito as the type of photographer that is less interested in the artistic aspect of photography —- and more about how his photographs tell the truth, or have political statements, or spread information. Though he does seem to sometimes take photographs for the art's sake of it - like when he sees a beautiful scene in front of him, I feel he would get the urge to take a picture of it. Like when they were in Bali and he was seen on the beach looking as if he was framing a photograph, or of course in the most recent episode when he and Asami are acting like a tourist in Italy and he’s taking pictures of everything.

Does Asami have control over only in Tokyo or all over Japan ? and how does club Sion is used for illegal trading and helps to cover up dirty things for politicians and other elite class people?
There are actually many canon examples I could point out to that suggest that Asami’s reach is much further than Tokyo, and even outside of Japan as well.
I feel like its not a stretch to say that his influence is more then just tokyo and encompasses all of Japan. For one, Tokyo is Japans center of government, its biggest city, and culture epicenter for the whole country -so saying being successful in Tokyo is the same as being sucessful all over Japan, considering how much influence Tokyo has on the rest of the country.
But there is also other evidence, that he has business outside of Tokyo as well, and is known outside of Tokyo. For one we know Asami has a private jet, and goes on Business Trips to else where, as seen in multiple episodes. There is also an extra episode were Akihito is staying by the seaside for the summer and is working at some beach shack, I think its implied that it was outside of Tokyo. Then Akihito goes to a hotels opening, and turns out Asami owns that hotel. Or as another example, in a cross over episode with another one of Sensei’s manga’s, Akihito goes to Kyoto as a school photographer and chaperone. In that episode Akihito is trying to get into a fancy hotel, and he is denyed entrance as its a private memebership hotel. Akihito flashes Asami’s business card to get inside, and immediately the hostess knows who Asami is - even giving a frightening look as if she knows Asami is a scary person 😅
but it’s also clear that he has a sphere of influence overseas, espcially in the Asian region - Hong Kong is an obvious answer and it’s been shown many times that he has connections and does business in Hong Kong.
In that one Fei long chapter, seven years ago Asami was doing a lot of work in Hong Kong. He had a safe house there, there is even a scene of him talking with a police officer who he was likely bribing. Then there is the whole, Fei longs biological father was also some kind of politician that Asami knew and was meeting with Fei long as a favor for him - though he was mostly interested in the benefits he could gain by befriending Fei Long.
Later on in the Pray in Abyss arch, when Akihito is staying in the monastery, we see Asami going back to Hong Kong to visit some old guy. He was checking in on this business parter, because Chernobog was potential targetting that guy, and Asami was personally visiting to make sure he was okay. In that same arch, there is also a brief throw away line where Kirishima mentions that there Vietnam route was disrupted because of Chernobog.
As for the second part of your question! To be honest I dont know about how the criminal underworld works to truly answer that. Sion is a front for his illegal business, and what that generally means is simply - money laundering! Though Asami canonly, has been involved in drugs, and arms dealing.
If you dont know how money laundering works, ill do a small basic breakdown of what I think might be happening behind closed doors. Imagine you are the owner of a swanky memebers only night club, (hello asami!) you can charge whatever you want for your services under the guise of your luxury business, and who is going question how much you charge. Someone approaches you and says they want to buy 20k dollars worth of weapons. But you need to launder that money so you say okay sir, very well. I’ll be sending you a bill that says you stayed in my swanky hotel and rang up a charge of $20k. That same guys goes great yep i totally did stay at that swanky hotel (wink wink nudge nudge) and it was a bargin! Now as the business owner, you have a legitimate payment made of 20k that goes thru your legitmate business and eventually it will make its way to the people u want to pay off - aka the people who secured you those 20k dollars worth of weapons.
Asami is also known as this “Fixer” type person - So people who want various favors to be completed. Take this guy who wants 20k$ worth of guns. Asami doesn’t even have to be the person suppyling those guns. He might just say to that guy who wants 20k worth of guns, that he knows a guy! And that guy can hook them up with the guns and Asami just recieves a cut of the profits. Basically like he is the type of person who is just finding buyers (aka his clientele from his varies night clubs and hotels) and putting them together with a sellar! or a supplier! Then Asami allows both parties to meet up safety in a VIP room of his club.
I bet his operation consist of both things - where he himself is the supplier (bigger, higher stakes deals) and other deals where he is simply just putting buyers and sellers together (smaller, lower stakes deals)
As you also mentioned Asami canonly is said to covers up dirty things for his clients. Which is also part of this “fixer” stuff. Favors carry a lot of weight in the underworld- you stratch my back I stratch yours! If an important client of mine has a problem, a problem that if it gets worse could point back to you - you’d have invested interest in helping them clean that mess out. But of course, helping someone important, probably also has some monetary benefits as well. There is also i feel this underscore of — blackmail involved too. Imagine the video feed on Club Sion, with deals being carried out on camera. I kinda sometimes like to imagine Asami has a little black book with evidence on everyone important in Japan, that keeps people silent and under his thumb.

Hey, I know Asami and Akihito are escaping but what about Kirishima and Suoh did they return back to Japan ? 😅.
It would be hilarous if in every other panel of Akihito and Asami on the run, there’d be Kirishima and Suoh in the background in terrible disguises 😂😂
But we dont really know, it has not been mentioned what they are going to do. The last we saw them was at villa, taking in Sudoh Shu. I was alittle dissapointed we didnt get to see them last episode along side Fei Long and Mikhail giving an update on things after Simon was arrested. But I suppose they must have heard that Asami doesn’t intend to go back to Japan any time soon…
Which makes me feel a little sad - like is Asami just leaving Sion to poor Kirishima, who was interm CEO while Asami was missing. Poor guy! He has so much on his plate.
I’m kinda hoping Asami still finds ways to be able to contact them - I mean given this manga we must be under the assumtion that this “escape” part of this arch might be easier said then done and that it is likely to fall apart. In which case, I really hope Kirishima and Suoh make their return to being Asami’s allies in a fight against Papa Asami, if the need ever arrives.
As of right now, I imagine they must have returned to Japan. I am only guess that because when Fei Long and Mikhail intercept AxA at the hotel in Italy, they made it out as if AxA just kinda up and left after what went down with Simon - without telling anyone. Even leaving Fei Long and Mikhail in the lurk about where they were.
