watching the Todd in the shadows top 10 worst hit songs of 2023 video you know todd and it reminded me that is to say ive come on here and started typing because i want to talk about how 2023 was actually a ridiculously good year for music like better than it had any reason to be. I'm going to make a list of my favorite albums that came out this year now:

Speaking of which, here's a little something for the hungry Showtime nation. Basically how Human! Caine and Human! Pomni met:
From Pom-Pom's perspective:
"There I was, pathetically sobbing in the mud, next to my car with the car's keys locked inside the car.
Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic.
And then the rain stopped and my head jotted up, that's when I first saw him. Caine.
He was about the same height as me, with a build like one of those typical old cartoon ones. You know, the cartoon style that represented men with very broad shoulders and chests and slim waists. Well, he was like that, but humanoid.
He was slim, yet still had a broad chest and shoulder, trim waist and thin muscular legs. He had slightly curly red hair and a boater hat with a red elastic strip on it. His skin was fair, and freckles adorned his cheeks. His eyes were mismatched, one a beautiful deep sea blue, and the other a forest green. He was wearing a red coat over his white shirt and black pants. His black shoes were surprisingly shiny in the mud, and he had the umbrella in his hand.
But then there was the lower half of his face...
I probably screamed as I backed out and pressed myself against the car. It really was a horrible sight.
Imagine the face of a rotting corpse, but only the bottom half of its face pasted onto this man's. His skin was a sickening red, almost as if it was muscle. There were a couple holes here and there in his cheek, allowing one to see into his mouth. And he had no lips. Literally, no lips, just a set of unusually perfect teeth. I can't even describe what I saw.
My breath hitched, my heart pounded, and soon I hyperventilated and fainted on the ground.
But not before I felt two strong arms lift me up and carry me away..."
And here's our Ringmaster's perspective:
"God no...
My mask, I'd come out into the rain without my mask. My face aglow for all to see.
I almost rushed back for it, but not before I met...her.
The girl was crying in the mud...rather...pathetically I must add. But I approached her. I stood with my umbrella next to her and she looked up.
She had a short yet unusually...plain body. Like the plainest of plain bodies. Literally, nothing about it was unusual or special. Like the perfect human body diagram in a biology book. Just like that. She had dark brown hair which was short and tied in a small ponytail. She was wearing a dark blue hoodie and brown pants. Like a typical depressed loser-like outfit. Her skin was pale and nose button-like.
But her eyes...
Oh lord...
Oh Mary, in the name of all that is holy...
Why...
Why were her eyes so...special?
They were a reddish blue in color. A very, very special color. And her eyes were very big too. And there in the mud, with her pupils blown wide, thick tears running down her now red face, and lips turned down. She looked...so...cute. You could see each strand of muscle in her iris. And I could make out a couple threads of purple and yellow. So pretty. So beautiful. So so freaking good.
But then...she screamed, and I realized. My face. She probably saw what all others saw in me...a monster. A gross disgusting monster. She was probably disgusted beyond measure, guessing by the way she fainted.
I dropped the umbrella. I picked her up, and I made my way back to the tent."

ohhh this is hard! i love it when people can properly balance his rage with his love, because whilehe does love immensely, he does rage sometimes, and i love it when people understand why he does so. i don't really enjoy it when he's just a plot device, but i don't see it all that often so! glad for that!

rrat-king has this lovely lovely fic called To Fear The Dark that you should DEFINITELY READ and it definitely worked its way into my headcanons and. kristen sleeps with the chapel's outdoor light on. it's definitely just in case a person wishes to come pray, not because it's bright enough it shines through the windows so the room inside is aglow.
also, it's a goal of hers to get strong enough to lift gorgug's axe. she's the closest of the bad kids. she wants to so bad.

100 of my favorite non hip hop releases from 2022. I made a seperate list for hip hop already which you can find here if you’re interested. 2022 will go down as a memorable year for me not just for the sheer quantity of great releases, but also because i feel that all my of my favorite genres had a chance to shine. I started returning to my hardcore/punk/metal roots within the last couple years and 2022 was the first time in recent memory where I really felt like I was fully tapped in. There were so many highly anticipated releases from a ton of different artists last year, and the majority lived up to the hype for me. Grindcore, Mathcore, and Post-Hardcore seems to have been making a huge comeback with some incredible new efforts from modern genre staples like Wormrot, Callous Daoboys, Brutus, Greyhaven, Birds in row, Knoll, and Cloud Rat. Not to mention the much welcome return of some legendary acts including Gospel, Sawtooth Grin, and City of Caterpillar. I’m sure there’s plenty of stuff I missed out on too, so feel free to hit me with any recommendations you might have or just let me know what projects you enjoyed the most last year. POV: Matt saves your heartbeat
From all the way up here, the world almost looks beautiful. You can see every single window aglow in every single building, which means every single light announces the presence of another life, heat beating just as mine. So why, in a world with so many lights, do I feel completely and utterly alone? I’m afraid of heights, but right now the height of my building, my toes just over the ledge, brings nothing but peace. It’s a strange thing to imagine, not being here, that is. Is there anything after death? A heaven or a hell? Maybe an individual paradise in the gaps of the universes fabric, made especially for me. Or maybe it’s just nothing, and endless void of numb, dark, and silent turmoil. In a way, it’s no different to how I live now. Looking down at the street below, I start to feel the gravity of my situation. One step. That’s all it would take. One step, and I could end it all. It’s an odd sort of power to be able to end or save your own life with one step. Forwards or backwards. That’s the choice that tethers me between life and death. I look up to the sky, wondering if the God my Mother believes to firmly in is looking down on me in desperate despair. If you’re up there, and you want me to live, send me an Angel. It’s worth a shot, right? The heavens open and it begins to rain. The water soaking my skin in the type of downpour you want to dance in, the type of downpour you’re supposed to confess undying love to.
“Step off the ledge.”
I turn, not startled by the annoying imposing on my dramatic moment, but rather intrigued. I meet his eyes. Well, where his eyes would be if not covered by a mask.
“Huh. I ask for an Angel and he sends the devil. How amusing.” I turn back to the ledge, attempting to find that feeling of peace again.
“That’s not the way to go.”
Fine, I can amuse a stranger man in a devil costume for my final moments.
“Oh yeah? And what would you suggest?” I close my eyes, letting the rain hit my eyelids.
“Old age.” There’s no sarcasm or amusement in his voice, but it’s not harsh. Dark but with a hint of sweetness, like black coffee with sugar.
“I don’t think I can bare to make it that far.”
He doesn’t speak again. But he’s thinking. It’s so loud I can hear the cogs turning in his brain, as if he’s trying to find the combination that slots them all into place.
“You’ll regret it, trust me.”
“No, I won’t, because I’ll be dead.”
“When you hit the ground, yeah. But this is a tall building. And those three seconds before you hit the ground will be the most scared you’ve ever been. You won’t be able to take it back. Not then. So do it now. Step down.”
It’s like all the lights in the city shut off, and the peace is shattered into a million pieces. Suddenly, the fear of heights is all to present and my legs begin the shake. The falling. It’s impossible to believe that when planning to jump off a building I didn’t think about the falling. Or the fear. Or the fact that I might actually regret trying to die.
He’s there, holding my arm and helping me down. I step away from the ledge, staring at where my feet had been.
He looked to the side of me, as if lost in thought. What exactly do you say to the woman you just stopped from killing herself? There goes those cogs again.
“Thank you.”
The words are surprising, and a little confusing. He just thanked me. He just thanked me for choosing to live.
“Why?” I ask, more to myself than to him. Why did I step down? Why didn’t I jump? Why does this man want to save me? Why do I feel safe with him?
“Your heartbeat is the loudest in the city for miles. You can’t waste a heart like that.” It’s such a strange thing to say, yet it makes me feel as if it means something.
“I want to die.” I tell him, as if I need his permission, as if killing myself without his consent would be breaching some kind of contract.
“You, maybe. But your heart wants to live.” He tells me, his eyes never leaving the spot beside me, his shoulders tense and his feet ready in a self defence stance, one in front of the other.
“Okay.”
Is all I say.
Before I leave the rooftop, and retreat back to the cold of my apartment.

January
So after no December entry my January was still pretty rough. But I think it’s interesting how comforting and chill my January Favorites are compared to Novembers. Also RIP Angelo Badalamenti whose twin peaks soundtrack I mentioned in the last post.
Instrument
So after tweeting that I have a feeling a harmonica would really fit my vibe I bought a used one for 5€. (The seller was super cute) My favorite song to play is Piano Man by Billy Joel, which was also the inspiration for me getting one. To be honest I had no idea how harmonicas worked, but after finding out they come in different keys and mine was in B I got the same model in C. And then I fell into a rabbit hole. Because the model I got is discontinued and has been around for a long time, and both of them have different cases so one of them has to be from before 2004 and could even be a lot older. I’m still on a quest to find out so any harmonica experts please hit me up! (It’s the Hohner Piccolo) Also, I really want to buy one of those holders so I can play freehand.
Music
I have a really hard time listening to new music but I came back to an artist I really liked a few years ago. Weyes Blood isn’t really my typical genre of music, but to me her songs don’t feel like singular pieces but like a big body of work so it’s easier for me to listen to her new stuff, because it feels so familiar. I used to be obsessed with her Album and album Artwork for Titanic Rising. (There is a cool youtube video about the making of.) I even wrote my bachelors thesis about her music video Movies. Her new Album And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow has stunning visuals and my favorite new song is God Turn Me Into a Flower, because same. But my favorite overall is probably Something To Believe In. (Like last month this is your cue to listen along)
Game
As a kid I never got into Professor Layton even though I was a nintendo kid and LOVE puzzles. Because it was available on mobile we kind of started with Pandoras Box so I’m missing some of the lore here and have no idea why a grown man is travelling with some kid stranger. But I’ll assume that Luke has not been kidnapped and forced to solve riddles for this older man but is just having a fun time. I really wish instead of talking about work it would be acceptable in real life for people to just give you a fun little riddle immediately after introduding themselves. Maybe I should just start doing that.

Oh god here we go… I became obsessed with Bluey this month. Bluey is supposed to be a kids show about a cartoon dog family, but to me it feels more like a family sitcom that just happenes to be dogs. Where other kids shows thrown in a few jokes for the parents here and there Bluey really seems to be equally aimed at everyone. The situations and characters feel really real because the creators aren’t afraid to give them flaws. Even Bluey herself (She’s a girl) isn’t always the good guy. (Also if you draw human Bluey fanart please don’t giver her long hair, she’s always mistaken for a boy just give her short hair.) My favorite episode is Sleepytime, and IMDB users agree.
Food
This comes with a little disclaimer. I have been vegetarian for 9 years now, mostly because I just never liked the texture of meat and also because I don’t like the meat industry. But last year broke my streak like 3 times and never really regretted it. Because I never ate meat growing up I also never had the typical bacon and eggs breakfast. So one Sunday (while watching Bluey) we made that with coffee (which I also rarely drink) and IT WAS SO GOOD. So I’ll look out for vegan bacon maybe. But I think as long as it’s an exception I can have a big breakfast sometimes, especially when I’m having a hard time. (Also, butter your bread and put it in the oven for 5 minutes before the rest is done)

<And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow>는 나탈리 메링(Natalie Mering)의 네 번째 앨범 <Titanic Rising>의 연장선상에 놓인다. 전작이 임박한 불길한 징조들을 예감하는 시점의 기록이라면 새 앨범은 예견된 징조들이 불가항력적으로 일어나고 거기에 깊이 연루되어 있는 상황을 그린다, 는 것이 그녀의 설명이다. 그러니 와이즈 블러드의 음악은 기본적으로 절망적이고 어둡게 느껴질 수 있다. 포크 싱어를 연상케하는 고즈넉한 보컬 치고는 쉽게 매치되지 않는 실험적 사운드도 겸비했다. 이렇게 문자로 옮겨 분석적으로 바라보니 와이즈 블러드의 음악은 일종의 언밸런스 같고, 그러한 균열을 논리로 지탱되는 듯 생각되기도 한다.
<Titanic Rising>에서 그녀는 강렬한 커버 이미지를 선보였다. 방과 사물들, 그리고 방의 주인까지 통째로 물속에 빠트려 상징적 이미지들을 단번에 무의식–물 이미지는 잠재의식을 나타낸다고 나탈리 메링이 인터뷰에서 설명하고 있다–의 층위로 옮겼다. 이렇듯 그녀의 행보는 놀랍고 야심차다. 앨범 수록곡 중 Movies라는 곡은, 할리우드 방정식에 의해 짜인 상업 영화들에 대해 반감을 가졌던 기억에서 출발했다. 초반부는 코스믹하고 미니멀한 멜로디와 호러 영화에 어울릴 법한 보컬 톤으로 비주류적 판타지를 그리며 전개되다가 후반부에 이르러 현악기로 세팅을 바꾸고는 이전 분위기에서 완전히 환골탈태하는 양상을 보인다. 이 구조는 실험성과 반체제성의 이빨을 드러내며 으르렁대는, 문화 산업 속에 섞여 살아가야만 하는 길들지 않는 야생 인류의 울부짖음처럼 느껴지는 측면이 있다. Andromeda는 한 시대를 풍미했던 대표적 드럼머신인 린드럼과 빈티지 사운드를 결합해 추상적인 언어로 우주와 사랑을 탐험하도록 했다. 직접 감독이 되어 연출한 Everyday 뮤직비디오는 인디 음악가들의 전매특허 같은 DIY 미학에 기반하고, 개연성 부족한 시나리오에 기술적으로 엉성하고 조잡한 장면 연출로 코믹함을 더했다.
이번 앨범의 커버는 <Titanic Rising>에 드러났던 전복적 상상력에 비하면 무척 다소곳하게 연출되어 있다. 단지 가슴에 라이트를 심어 넣고는–라이트를 몸밖으로 매달은 것이 아니라 신체 내부에서 빛을 밝히는 것으로 연출되어 약간은 그로테스크한—초현실적 이미지를 보여주는 것에 그쳤다. 리서치 과정을 통해 접한 그녀의 개념들에 대해선 알면 알수록 심오하다고 생각했다. 그러니까 언뜻 보면 느닷없어 보이는 엉뚱함을 심오한 철학과 논리가 일제히 뒷받침하고 있다는 사실에 새삼 놀라기도 했다.
이제 다시 이 앨범의 커버를 유심히 관찰해본다. 새벽녘의 여명과도 같은 푸른빛으로 물든 긴 머리칼, 고풍스러운 실크 드레스 차림, 거기에 신체 내부로부터 밝혀진 빛이라는 SF적 상상력을 조합한 것은 와이즈 블러드만의 차별화된 음악과 개성을 드러내는 적절한 셀프 포트레이트다. 그녀는 요즘 음악보다 60-70년대 포크 음악을 더 선호하고 매번 그것을 재현하고자 해왔다. 하지만 21세기를 살아가는 뮤지션으로서 지나간 시절을 답습할 수는 없고, 자기만의 새로운 어법과 표현을 발굴해 현대성을 덧입혀야 한다. 그래서 ‘언밸런스’ 하거나 다소 복잡한 컨텍스트를 구축하는 결과를 빚어내고 있다고 생각된다. 그녀의 목소리는 여성스럽고 부드럽고 어떤 면에선 성스럽기도(sacred) 하지만, 궁극적으로 그녀의 음악은 현실의 위기 상황들과 치열하게 맞부딪친 흔적으로 남았다.
나탈리 메링은 성경�� 말씀들이 집안에 흐르며 규율로 작용하던 크리스천 가정에서 자랐다. 첫 곡 It’s not just me, it’s everybody는 명상을 가능케 할 만큼 단조로운 분위기의 챔버 발라드지만, 그녀의 설명을 접하면 이 곡을 단순히 치유적 메시지를 가진 노래로 치부하며 넘어가기는 어렵다. 이 곡의 가사는 불교의 핵심적 교리를 바탕으로 구성되었다고 한다. 여기서 고통받는 것은 내가 아니라고 말하고, 우리 모두가 상호 연결되어 있다는 입장을 취하기에, 이것은 ‘무아론’ 같은 불교적 세계관을 접목했다고 말할 수 있다. 파티의 왁자함 뒤편 어느 조용한 구석 자리에서 화자는 그렇게 생각한다. 나탈리 메링이 독실한 기독교 집안 출신인 점을 떠올렸을 때 불교 교리로 자신의 작업을 풀어나간 것은 마치 금기를 깨는 일처럼 모험적인 행보로 이해되기도 한다. 그렇지만 이를 꼭 개종의 의미로 바라볼 필요는 없다. 그녀의 고민은 상호 연결성이 점점 옅어져 가는 우리 사회의 현실에 초점을 맞추고 있고, ‘나’가 아닌 ‘우리’를 앞세워 맹점을 돌파하고 그것을 일깨우려는 창의적 시도에 머문다. 이 곡은, 말 그대로 ‘단순히 분위기가 좋아서 즐길 수 있는’ 종류의 것이기도 하지만, 창작 배경을 알면 더 깊이 접근할 수 있는 통로를 보여준다. (뮤직비디오도 언뜻 보면 엉뚱한 장난을 치고 있는 것 같은데 스마트폰과 폐허 등의 상징들 때문에 나름의 심오함이 발생된다! 그렇더라도 그려진 모든 것을 반드시 해석할 필요는 없을 것이다. 덩어리 째로 느끼는 것에 그것만의 즐거움이 있게 마련이다.)
God Turn Me into Flower도 깊이가 남다르고 여러모로 의미심장한 곡이었다. 이 곡은 나르시시즘에 빠져 결국 죽음을 맞게 되고 그가 죽은 자리에 노란 수선화가 피었다는 나르키소스 신화를 모티브로 쓰여졌다. 이런 신화적 컨셉이 그녀의 영성적 뉘앙스의 보컬에 너무 잘 어울리지 않았나 한다. 마지막에는 수선화 핀 연못 풍경을 그린 듯 잔잔한 사운드로 여운을 남기는데 가사도 충분히 인상적이다. 거울이 당신을 너무 멀리 데려갈 때 / ‘신이여, 저를 꽃으로 만들어 주세요’ / 물빛의 반사가 보이죠 / 당신은 진실보다 그걸 더 원해요 / 당신은 결코 도달할 수 없는 꿈을 갈망하죠 / 왜냐하면 당신 반대편에 있는 것은 언제나 당신 자신이었으니까 (When the mirror takes you too far / Oh, God, turn me into a flower / You see the reflection / And you want it more than the truth / You yearn to be that dream you could never get to / ‘Cause the person on the other side has always just been you). 나르시시즘은 우리가 이미 잘 아는 개념이지만 지나친 자기애가 비극을 초래할 수 있다는 사실을 이 곡은 새삼 노래로써 들려주고 있다.
<And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow>는 폐허가 된 세계를 유유히 거니는 별난 외톨이의 발자취다. 그녀의 설명은 ‘눈물’로 가득하다. ‘마치 부서진 글로우 스틱 같은 내 심장은, 진정성이 내부에서 파열한 듯 내 가슴을 밝힙니다. 그리고 가슴에 불이 나면 연기가 눈으로 들어 오죠(My heart, like a glow stick that’s been cracked, lights up my chest in a little explosion of earnestness. And when your heart’s on fire, smoke gets in your eyes (나탈리 메링의 편지 글 중에서).’

✨ 2022 Faves ✨

Favorite books: "I'm Glad My Mom Died" by Jennette McCurdy for sure was my absolute fav, i am lucky enough to have a first edition signed copy of the hardcover version since the pre-orders for it were surprisingly affordable on the official site a while back, so it's also just a very special book to me in general too 🥺 i really liked her writing style, iirc it was adapted from a one-person theater show Jennette was performing a few years back and that probably has something to do with the non-conventional way of writing a memoir, but it was so much more accessible for me to read with my adhd and i loved how she blended bits of her own inner monologue throughout her life as a sort of dark comedy with a genuinely haunting and very sad series of events. a super intense read but if you're able to read it i can't reccommend it enough, it's really good

Favorite Memories: The Whole Summer since i got 2 spend it with my bestie irl as my roommate (housemate??? is there a word for a roommate who stays in a different room....is that just roommate LMAO), but especially the night i recorded the first part of the 80's Devilman OVA onto a blank vhs tape while we watched it and i forgot to turn the internet off on my laptop and my house's crap internet disconnected multiple times during the ending credits sequence which made a big blank comcast pop-up window take over the whole screen and i tried to remedy it on the vhs tape by rewinding and recording over it but then it kept happening so i kept rewinding by a few seconds and re-recording and it resulted in the accidental creation of the funniest vhs tape in my collection so far (that whole paragraph is a video i took of how it looks on the tape and us seeing that absolute disaster for the first time after i was done recording and we popped it into the tv to see what a bad job i did)

Album Review: Weyes Blood - And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow
Put on Weyes Blood’s And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow, relax and float downstream on a pillowy cloud of meditations on isolation at the micro and macro levels.
Fragile in the morning/can’t hold on to much of anything with this hole in my hand/I can’t pretend that we always keep what we find/oh, yes, everybody splits apart sometimes, the artist born Natalie Mering sings on “It’s Not Just Me, It’s Everybody,” which opens the LP.
Wispy and vaguely orchestral with harp flittering in the distance behind atmospheric production, In the Darkness … is at once singular and similar to what would have happened if Karen Carpenter joined the Pet Sound-era Beach Boys.
Across 10 songs and 45 minutes, Blood works out her - and humanity’s - existential crises - as she toggles between optimism and realism.
We tend to live long/that’s why so many things go wrong, she sings on the uptempo “Children of the Empire,” which echoes out of Laurel Canyon in the 1960s and into the echo chamber of the 2020s.
And as Blood ponders a world encouraged to come out of its pandemic-imposed seclusion, the singer/songwriter hedges her bets on “The Worst is Done,” concluding:
They say the worst is done/but I think it's only just begun
These words set to this music solidify Blood/Mering as a masterful composer. And when she opens her mouth to free her soothing-yet-utterly-haunting contralto, Blood seals the deal even on “God, Turn Me into a Flower,” which combines birdsong with deep-space ambiance to hypnotic effect.
You see the reflection and you want it more than the truth/you yearn to be that dream you could never get to/’cause the person on the other side has always just been you/oh, God, turn me into a flower, she sings ardently.
The prayer worked; Weyes Blood is blossoming on And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow.

I could feel his nervous eyes on me from across the room. He had been acting strange towards me and me alone since discovered today's lesson, his eyes averting mine and his shoulders drooped. The confident Draco Malfoy never looked so vulnerable and nervous before, his rigid frame almost frightening as I ponder a way to ask him what was wrong.
In Slughorns class, we're learning about Amortentia, the potion that seems to have enticed everyone in the room, hearts joyfully skipping beats, smiles that dance around the room from face to face as the professor lets everyone take a whiff. It wasn't dangerous, not even in the slightest, but it almost always reveals something about someone.
Maybe that wasn't always good.
My classmates around me are focused deeply on the professors words, their eyes aglow and eager as he explains the background of the potion and the trials and tribulations of someone who ingests it. By the time it comes around to Draco, I watch as he leans forward, his eyes fluttering softly shut as he takes a small breath in. He looks almost confused as the professor pulls away and moves onto the next student, his brows pulled together and lips pulled down into a frown. I wonder what it smelled like to him.
It's not shocking to me what I smell; crisp peppermint gum, the smell of rain in the air and the dark smell of leather. They're all things that remind me of him, not even realizing this until I took a deep inhale of the potion, the professor's eyes lighting up as realization passes over my face.
I'm lucky that he's not asking us to share our discoveries with the class.
Making my way out of the lecture hall, I spot Malfoy walking alone a few feet in front of me, his head hanging low and his feet scuffing against the floor. It doesn't take much to catch up to him, our shoulders brushing against one another as he turns to look at me, his eyes widening in disbelief at the sight of me beside him.
"Are you alright?" I ask suddenly, stopping him in his tracks as he turns to me, his hand reaching up to bashfully rub the back of his neck. His eyes avoid mine as my shoulders deflate, wondering if I had done something to upset him. "Did I do something to upset you?" I quiz, his head shaking quickly as I pout, not understanding his sudden distain for me. We had been amicable for the time we've shared at Hogwarts together, never really butting heads or having any issues. I know that he's known for his sass, along with his family's treacherous past, but he's never been outright rude towards me.
"I'm fine." He brushes me off simply as his arms fold over his chest, my mind thinking back to when this might have started. We talked earlier before class, but then he got all squirming and bashful when-
Oh my god.
"Wait..." I trail off, taking a step closer to him as he stiffens like a board, a laugh leaving my lips as it all comes together in my head. "What did yours smell like?" His eyebrows lift at my question, his frown being replaced by a scowl, his head shaking with a bitter laugh.
"Nothing, what ever would make you think that that's what's got me upset?" He sneers but my knowing smile doesn't fade, the grin bothering him more than my pesky questions.
"So you admit you're upset?" I tease, reaching forward to pat his arm as he flinches, gulping audibly as I shake my head. "What did it smell like?" He runs a hand over his face, sighing loudly as the clock chimes above us, startling the boy in front of me.
"You're obviously aware, so can you stop-" I cut him off quickly, my lips pressing against his without another thought, without hesitation. It takes him a few moments to relax, shocked that I would be so forward but based on the way his hands find my hips, I can tell it's no issue. Pulling away from him, our lips linger a bit as my eyes flutter open, a small smile is on his lips as he clears his throat. "If you don't mind me asking, what did yours resemble?" He whispers, the space between us begging to be closed again as I chuckle.
"I'd say that it resembled a familiar, silver-tongued Slytherin I know."
