I wonder if you made backstories for the tadc employees or smh-
(I wanna know Gangle's :3)
I have some concepts and ideas in my mind but it's all very vague and I haven't written anything down so forgive me for any incoherent sentences or messy writting:
Pam:
Ever since she left for college she cut all contact with her family and "friends" (she calls them acquaintances/contacts) and put all of her attention in her studies. She graduated at the top of her class in computer sciences and got hired at C&A almost immediately. The moment she left college she noticed a sudden shift in her routine. She dedicated her entire life into her studies and grades and completely disregarded any social interactions, hobbies.... She excepted that when she got a job, all of her problems would've been solved but she found out that she was wrong. Her first few months at the company were okay to say the least but as time went by she felt more and more empty and depressed. Her lack of social skills and pride didn't help either and rejected all of her coworker's attempts to befriend her. So she spent her time either overworking herself, drinking or sleeping. She worked in that company for 5 whole years: Her sleep schedule was a mess, her salary wasn't exactly ideal and she started taking anti-depresants and a hunch of other stuff and Reggie's disappearance (or "temporary departure") took a toll on her. Not only because her boss decided to make her the head of her department but also because he was the only one who was still willing to talk to her. So now she was left with a bunch of deadlines and work and the only one who even looked at her and said hello every morning was now gone. Her life was shit, basically, so why not try again in a new life, a new world and with new memories?
Reggie:
Good ol' Reggie has been working in the company for 18 years now and he couldn't be happier. He had a decent childhood, a loving wife and a decent job that keeps the both of them stable! And a father-daughter relationship with Genevieve, so he couldn't be more happy with life! The only thing he wishes is that he could have more time to spend with his family and his hobbies (he keeps and collects cool bugs, obviously :) ) and that the company wasn't so strict with deadlines and such. He is the head of the programming department so he has a lot of work on his plate...but it's all for a good cause: the digital circus! In his eyes, it's a magical place that helps people to to distract themselves for a while and to have a little fun before they return to their normal lives! So you can imagine his excitement once his boss told him that they were going to let the staff be actual play testers! He was ECSTATIC! he spent YEARS fixing and refining the digital plains so of course he decided to be one of the first playtesters. Queenie was a little hesitant at first but he told her not to worry! He knew that the code was a little finicky at times but that's okay! He has Pam and the rest of the staff to take care of it if anything goes wrong, after all he wholeheartedly trusts them :) nothing could possibly go wrong right?
Jack:
Dear Jack....the C.E.O's son. He has been wandering around the company for a few years now, working in some low paying positions to earn a little pocket money from his parent. He's known as the office's little miscreant as he just goofs around all day and nobody can touch him or say anything cause if they do they're gonna get fired! Ain't that fun? But his luck runs out when even the C.E.O has had enough of his bullshit and offers him to take a little time off from his studies and work to go and be a beta testers for his folks vr experience. Ain't that idea fun? Just log in, fuck around and then come back for dinner, right?
Agatha:
Agatha, a hard working gal with lots of siblings to take care off. Her folks aren't around to help her so she takes care of em all throughout college until she gets the position in the robotics department! She goes up the ranks and even becomes the head of her department :). She mainly works with the headset design and with the new technology that the company has introduced. She has never seen anything like it: with it you can feel and hear your surroundings whilst hooked to the digital plains. So when she heard that they were offering people to beta test the digital world she couldn't help but to want to experience all of those things herself! She does wonder why they have to have her sign a contract but she trusts the company. She has been with them for some time now and the staff and boss have been nice to her so far, so why wouldn't she trust them?
Genevieve:
Dear Genevieve has had a sort of rocky life. Her mother has been very overprotective over her and that has left her with no real life experiences. She was homeschooled almost her entire life so when she entered college she had a hard time adjusting to her new routines. She's very explosive emotionally and very finicky over her personal space so she couldn't (or didn't want to) make acquaintances and so, she made it to the company with no connections apart from her obsessive mother, just like Pam. She worked a year and a half in the company, and that was enough time to meet and befriend Reggie. At first she was very wary of him and very hostile to him. But good ol' Reggie just keeps saying hi to her every morning, just like he does with every employee he sees. One day, when they were both on break, Reggie tried to break the ice and tried to start some small talk with her. She got scared and basically yelled all sorts of barbaric things to him and he just gave her a warm smile. Nothing can hurt this man, god. Genevieve was surprised that he hadn't yelled back at her or left and stared at him for a while. Then guilt overcame her and she started sobbing. Reggie comforted her as best as he could and since then they formed a bond. So when she learned that he had left to be a beta tester she was again left alone in the office. Desperate for his comfort and precense she decided to follow him to the digital circus...
Zephyr:
They had a relatively normal life (apart from an accident that left them without a bloody leg but it's alright), graduated from art school and started working at C&A. They overestimated the pressure and stress that came with working at the company to the point that they were exhausted. They would've left if it wasn't for the fact that getting a job with their degree was extremely difficult and the chances for getting hired were very slim. So they kept on working. They worked day and night. A million coffee cups had started to pile up on their desk and they had severe bags under their eyes. They were tired, so very fucking tired. Why wouldn't they try to escape reality for a bit? Goof around in the digital plains, maybe use it as some sort of rage room. Maybe they could do all of the things that they had thought of without any consequences. Yeah, just for a little bit....it couldn't hurt, right?

cannot believe you have me searching for george russell videos but here we are my beloved. i need people to understand that gr is not a natural born tory, not in the way that alex and lando are. alex and lando were born to rich, bougie families. they both went to private school (lando actually went to the same school as the king of thailand, and his father is one of the uk's wealthiest people, that's how rich his family are) and it is clear in the way that they speak.
the uk is absolutely preoccupied with accent and class and the intersection of the two. the most 'acceptable' accent to have is received pronunciation, which is generally thought of as being the southern accent, but is more precisely the accent of wealthier, middle to upper class people from the home counties (the counties surrounding London), particularly the wealthier parts of London, Oxford, and Cambridge. think judi dench, vanessa kirby, stephen fry, joanna lumley, helen mirren for an accent reference.
neither alex nor lando are from these areas, lando is from Bristol and alex is from Suffolk, both of which have distinct accents of their own, but they both speak with a fairly RP accent because of their wealth, class, and education. alex's accent is 'better', it's more crisp, and captures the phonetic rhythm more accurately. it's also slightly more nasal at times than lando's form, but lando's so much whinier that his accent is always more snobbish than alex's.
george, on the other hand, is actually from the general RP area. he was raised in Wisbeach, in Cambridgeshire, so the pattern of his speech and the general way in which he forms sounds matches that of the RP accent. but if you listen to this, an interview taken when he was fourteen (his speaking starts at around the 40 second mark) you'll notice a big difference in the way that he talks to the way in which alex and lando speak. this is the point at which class comes in. now, while i'm pretty sure that george and his family are middle class, george's accent is 'common' enough to suggest that they're certainly not an upper middle class family (yes, there are layers upon layers to the british class system, yes it's stupid and terrible) and likely only lower middle class. this is also supported by the fact that george went to grammar school (a state funded school, but one that is selective and requires you to pass a test to get in) rather than a private school (there are many private schools in the area that george grew up in, and in general private schools care less if you miss lots of school for competitions etc because you're paying).
because accent is linked so much to class, and therefore access to education because the british school system is broken, having a RP accent is an instinctive indicator of wealth and intelligence. it's clear that george has put effort into his accent and ensuring that it is crisper, shortening some vowels and ensuring that he enunciates his consonants, but even so, if you listen to him here, you can still tell that he was raised and educated amidst the 'common people'. similarly, he's evidently put a lot of effort into dressing in a certain way to give the impression of wealth and sophistication. the accent, the clothes, the hobbies (see this photo of him playing croquet, this photo of him cycling in the ponciest way possible, and this photo of him cosplaying shooting at balmoral) are all carefully curated to give the impression of a man who is rich and well-educated from the upper echelons of british society. he's trying to seem like the motorsports version of hugh grant, but the accent betrays him ever so slightly.
this doesn't mean that he's not still a tory of course. he's obscenely wealthy, definitely a queen fucker, and has an almost baffling lack of charm that goes hand in hand with the belief that capitalism is a good thing and that liz truss is an acceptable choice to lead the country (we're definitely not a global laughing stock), but he's definitely not the same kind of tory as lando, though like you i don't think lando has ever voted in his life whereas george definitely had an orgasm the moment that he dropped his Conservative vote into the ballot box (we do still use actual bits of paper that you draw on with a pencil, isn't british democracy wonderful).
anon you are so out of this world in levels of scholarship. i felt like I was reading an academic paper I was nodding along, I was going why of course, yes, as if I have Any idea what differentiates a posh British accent from a common pleb 😭
this is truly... wow. you've convinced me I now believe GR is Not a trueborn posh boy silver spoon of Mayfair but is desperately trying to fit in by being the Most tory of all... something about George Trying intentionally to sound more upper class is so... George...and having a chip on his shoulder cause his peers are so effortlessly belonging to said class, like you Know lando has never thought about pronunciation once in his lifetime, he doesn't even know what the word means! or how Alex is so perfectly pleasant and well bred and his Friend but also everything that doesn't come to him with ease, that he has to carefully think about and project... I just know he saw David Beckham queuing 13 hours for the queen's ash box and if it lands him a knighthood George is gonna 🔫 Charles (prince not leclerc) himself so he can stand in line for 20 hours !!!
it feels only fitting to post this now that wet lettuce has outlived Liz Truss 🥬 lmaoooo but you're right... GR absolutely got a hard-on voting for the Conservative party... he has a little pin that says for queen and country... cheers 🥂🥂🍾
i actually love anons like this cause wow you know what You're talking about and I'm just here to make hehe joke . this is where I develop a parasocial relationship with my anons and wish you were my friend so I could spam about GR larping as a posh boy despite Being a millionaire in your dms (this is an open invite to slide) but thank you for this essay, I truly enjoyed reading it ahaha <3

What do you think the MS characters studied during FCU/at university generally?
Thank you for the ask! ^^
My FCU knowledge is very limited, so I’m sorry if this is ooc or goes against cannon 😅
I’ve also never done something like this, so I hope the layout is okay!
What the main Mystreet characters studied at FCU/College/University
———————————————
Like I say, I don’t remember much of FCU. So this will be based on their MS and PDH personalities!
(Also I’m British so I’m sorry if I mixed anything up!)
Aph
-I strongly think aph went into a creative subject.
-Specifically Graphic Design or Drawing and Painting
-I also think she could have taken Creative Writing, after realising that she could make Fan fiction her entire job if she just “got it published”
-turns out it wasn’t that easy.
-(I think she’d have considered a Veterinary course, but decided against it after realising she’d have to see some of the animals pass on)
Katelyn
-I truly don’t talk about Katelyn enough.
-The easy answer is obviously a sports based course.
-Such as studying/training for volleyball or Sports Coaching.
-BUT I think she also could have done something in Drama, specifically Acting and Performance.
-I think she would have taken up Boxing Lessons during this, either for fun or to try cover her love of Theatre.
Nana(kc)
-Bakery.
-It’s easy, I know. But I really think she probably would have taken a Bakery and Patisserie course.
-If we’re also talking in universe stuff, then I think she might have taken some form of Magics Classes.
-And depending on when her dream of starting a maid cafe started, she could have taken Business Management to try and do that.
-I like to think she had a part time job at the Meif’wa scouts as a scout leader.
-(Probably also considered Veterinary as an option)
Garroth
-This man was way too difficult
-But it’s okay we love him anyway
-I think Garroth would be the type of person who just panicked and applied for a course in whatever he got the best grades in at the end of secondary/high school, even if it’s not what he wanted to do. (Which is valid)
-He probably could have continued in Baseball, but realised he’d rather keep it as a hobby and not a career.
-Garte absolutely offered him an apprenticeship at his business, and definitely tried super hard to get him to accept.
-Thankfully, Zianna pushed for him to do what he wants not what Garte wants. We love zianna.
-But, Garte definitely made him do a part time course in Business Management “just in case”
-Garroth doesn’t know what he wants to do in life yet, and that’s perfectly fine.
Zane
-Ahhh zane. Just as difficult as his brother.
-I think he could have done English Literature or some form of Poetry, gotta get the angst out somehow.
-But other things MCD and the wiki also make me think he could have done Business management to try and please his dad and become the favourite child.
-Garte probably offered him the the apprenticeship after Garroth declined it, but it was too late to accept.
-He probably considered an art course because of his love of MLP 2D animation.
Vylad
-MY BOYYY
-I have so many opinions
-Okay, so for some reason I really think Vylad would take a Photography course. It just makes sense in my mind.
-If not photography, I think he would have taken any course that involved him having to travel in order to study.
-I think Vylad learned at least 1 other language during college/uni.
-Probably took baking classes at one point, but kept eating his projects before he could present them.
-I don’t think Garte got around to offering him the apprenticeship, but he wouldn’t have accepted anyway.
Laurence
-This man. I love him, but his wiki is….lacking compared to everyone else’s.
-But we continue anyway
-I’m tempted to say he didn’t go to Uni/college, and instead helped on his parents farm for a little while or did some form of Apprenticeship.
-if he did I think Laurence could have continued football/soccer, but I think he’d get bored and choose something else.
-I think Laurence would be the type who chooses his courses based solely on what he enjoys doing, without a real plan on what to do afterward. (me too)
-I think he would have taken a culinary course, mainly surrounding savoury food.
-college/uni is probably where he learnt Japanese.
-I think Cadenza would have convinced him to do a part time Fashion and Beauty course “or she’d disown him”.
-Definitely did Babysitting as a part time job.
Dante
-Dante. One of the hardest out of this list.
-I’m honestly so stumped for our dear Danny boy
-I can imagine Dante going into something like Engineering or Film.
-I literally have no idea why, it’s just all I picture when I think about it. I wish I could provide more information
-I think he probably got a job pretty early after leaving Secondarily/High school. Like just something small, not a stable forever job.
-I think College/Uni has to be around the time he toned down his PDH-era flirting.
Travis
-I feel like Travis could have went into Media or something along those lines.
-Or social studies
-He seems like he’d do an apprenticeship somewhere, but I’m not sure where.
-he’s a tricky one
-he definitely did cooking lessons at some point
-I think college/Uni is also where he learnt a martial art
-He defiantly went to the same place as Dante
Aaron
-I think Aaron didn’t have much control over what he studied. I think he was heavily influenced by his parents.
-Definitely took Business Management
-Definitely took some form of Werewolf classes
-And definitely lost interest quickly
-100% made use of the on-campus gym. He probably spent more time there than classes.
Lucinda
-Magic time
-Definitely took multiple Magic Courses.
-Specifically about Familiars and Witchcraft
-Took bakery classes on the side, and tried to mix the two together.
-I think she could have also taken gardening on the side.
Nicole
-I think Nicole’s dad would have tried to convince her to study Law or Politics, but after less than a year she switches.
-I think she would have taken Sport and Exercise Science, to better herself and others.
-I think she could have taken Veterinary part time too, like a wildlife sanctuary or something.
-She probably took martial art classes in between classes.
Cadenza
-CADENZAAA
-yes I’m including our girl
-She absolutely took Fashion Design.
-And possibly Beauty on the side.
-She knew exactly what she wanted in Secondary/High school, and she hasn’t changed her mind since.
-Definitely took self defence classes
-Also helped out at her parents farm for a little while.
———————————————
I hope this was okay, I had to re-do the whole thing three times cause I kept accidentally losing all the progress 😅

Totsuka would be a channel on acid, I mean that in a good way I swear, every hobby anyone has thought of he would show.

Mikoto as he would sleep thru anything
Dewa pure rage by proving some dumb point to Chitose who left hours ago
Shohei & Eric since they give the vibes of not being surprised/scared of such things
Totsuka would film the entire thing
Yata and Kusanagi wouldn't show for reasons
18: I can't see anything but silly marriage spat
19: 🤔🤔🤔 since I view all my muses as lost hobos in need to a home against my better judgment I would let everyone in...

Writing Original Characters – a rant that might be useful
Hello, everyone. This is a post different than usual. If you don’t know me, first of all, “hi” and second, I should probably talk about my experience in story writing beforehand.
I’m currently a 19-year-old student in communications (I’m not a native English speaker as you might be able to tell), but I also used to be a multimedia student in high school. I started writing and adapting scripts when I was 12 as a fun hobby with my friends, but I also found interest in writing at a young age – though you can say that passion of mine always stayed “saved” in a drawer. I truly started writing scripts for school at 15/16 and I still do, as well as short fictional stories for my personal entertainment. This next university semester, I’m also planning on taking scriptwriting classes. At some point in my life, I also wanted to be a critic of cinematography in videoclips, series, games etc. but that was just another idea I set aside. Even though I keep my ideas to myself, I’m currently writing a fanfic related to a band (it’s a Slovenian band called Joker Out, I truly recommend their music).
Just like in “actual writing” – whatever that might mean to you – when you bring life to original characters, you want your audience to feel something towards them. I’ve recently finished writing chapter 7 of my fanfiction and while I adored writing these past two chapters, they kind of “destroyed” my perception of my favorite chapter until then (Chapter 4). I’ll not go into heavy detail for the sake of avoiding spoilers for the two people who are reading it (I’m not joking, I’m this passioned about something that a maximum of 2 people are reading), but I got myself rooting for the “we didn’t work out” couple instead of the main ones.
I couldn’t wrap my head around it, after all, my original character had a personality, a background, and character flaws that are crucial to any character in any media format (and trust me, I’ve been in a rabbit hole of character and movie writing analysis videos lately) - it’s the way your audience gets to connect with your character.
However, I made a huge mistake. You see, even though I try to write in the POVs of the characters, I decided to break the “archetype” of “Oh, cutsie new character is in love with x and y person and they have to choose who they like. Here ya go: a list of all things they have done in their life”. In my story, I decided that the character already pre-existed and had already interactions with the characters pre-story. And it’s not until chapter 4 where we first get their POV which also doesn’t explain much about the character… So, by the time we get to chapter 6 – which, again, I’ll not dive into– we still know nothing about this character and. We know their name, their age, their love for their country and their job, and that they are a little bit emotional and apologetic.
As I wrote more, I’ve come to realize that the only chance I’ll get “to fix” my character for it to still be likable is by getting more info out of them or else the story will just get boring and annoying. I thought I hated the character because I made the mistake of making it so similar to me. In reality, the character just lacks information. It’s good to hold back some information from the reader, but not too much. I know all their traumas, I know all my character went through and I know why their flaws make them great, but the reader doesn’t.
Honestly, the conclusion to this personal rant of mine is: Don’t be afraid to give information to your audience. People need something to relate to and especially in this day and age where the spam of our concentration was somehow reduced to less than a fucking goldfish. More than just telling compelling or realistic stories, have characters whose stories people want to dive into and learn more about, and share them in an interesting way.
If you’ve made it so far down here, hi again. Thank you for reading this. And feel free to share your thoughts and comments and other writing tips you might consider important. I want this space to feel safe for young writers and open for debate any time ;) I might be a little chaotic most days, but hey, deep down I have some nice thoughts as well… And don’t be like me: a little bitch who never follows their dreams ^^’ cya soon.

Ninja Daily: Vapors 6
Naruto idly tapped on his desk (the one directly in front of where Iruka lectured, which would theoretically make it easier for the Chuunin to catch him misbehaving), wishing the period would just finish already. He had clawed his way out of the bottom of the academic rankings to a respectable middling position, but he would still much rather be working on his aim.
Lately he had been spending almost all of his physical development time on throwing skills, after he'd noted that Mizuki-sensei was a goddamn prick and never pointed out his mistakes. He never seemed especially approving either- he'd give Naruto's poor katas the same nod he gave Sakura's technical perfection. He wasn't addressing either of their issues.
Naruto knew from watching his pretty (incredibly, mind-bogglingly, world-changingly pretty) classmate that her stamina was very poor and that she was lacking in muscle mass (even for the admittedly low standards for ten year old girls). Likewise, he knew that he tended to overreach and start his kata too quickly which ended up forcing him faster and faster. Speed was great, but he wanted to go at a speed he wasn't ready for and that ended up making his steps sloppy.
He probably wouldn't know the difference if Aiko hadn't pointed out his issues in the same casual way she told him it was his turn to take out the garbage. It wasn't good or bad, it was just being brought to his attention so that he could do something about it.
Ino (He took a moment to glare at the back of her head, long blonde hair swaying gently in the breeze from open windows) had been less diplomatic about his level. He was going to fight her one day too. Aiko was spending what seemed like every other morning working out with Ino.
He'd been invited, of course, but… he had other things to do. Like find out where Mizuki-sensei lived and smear the juice from a can of tuna fish under the table. (No matter how hard Mizuki-bastard scrubbed, his kitchen was going to gradually get stinkier and stinkier.) Naruto tried not to cackle overmuch in class. That had been yesterday- the Chuunin had probably only recently noticed the smell and was trying to find the source. Comedic gold, if only he could witness the frustration himself. An eraser suddenly appeared in him immediate vision and he jerked to the left to avoid it. 'Eh heh heh… Iruka-sensei looks kinda mad.'
"Stop cackling, Uzumaki. It's disruptive and just plain weird." With a mid-level stern glare (Naruto had made a mental chart, categorizing the severity of Iruka Glares) the Chuunin that didn't totally suck (Bite me, Mizuki-bastard!) went back to droning on about why you actually shouldn't aim for the jugular in a certain type of situation. It had something to do with bloodspray and tracking by scent?
For the next four minutes, Naruto was a model student.
Then he was tired of that.
Sasuke, that goddamn prick, was dutifully focused on the lecture. He never took notes, but he was always right when the teachers called on him. They called on him a lot- whenever Naruto or Kiba couldn't answer a question, Iruka would look to Mr. Perfect Hair. Smug bastard. Naruto broke a pencil in his fist, totally oblivious to the way that Shino gave him a mildly alarmed stare and inched away, beetles hiding deeper under his seasonally inappropriate coat.
Naruto shifted guiltily. It sucked to compare his academic performance to others. It was just so hard. 'Maybe if I worked like Aiko, I'd already be graduated.' The thought made him feel bad about himself, so he tried not to think it often. It was hard to not to make the comparison, though. She was his twin and they'd entered the academy the same year- should they be more alike?
It wasn't that Naruto didn't work at his ninja skills- far from it! He worked at it daily. But he just couldn't only be a ninja like Aiko. She didn't have any hobbies or downtime, and her workouts with Ino were probably the closest thing she had to a friendship. If she'd been someone else… well, he might have thought that she was cripplingly weird and too serious. She kinda acted like an old lady, (except for all the cursing, of course.)
That afternoon he rushed home, pinching the torn seam of his favorite black t shirt shut. (He was totally going to beat the shit out of Kiba next time they sparred, believe it!). 'I beat Aiko home,' he noticed dumbly when he shucked off his shoes. 'That almost never happens.' Aside from her one overnight mission, his sister was almost always home when he walked in the door. She generally went out to train again after the worst of the heat passed, but only after they had dinner. He felt like being helpful, so he started some tea before he tugged off his shirt and went in search of the little sewing kit Aiko had been forced to buy for her kunoichi class.
Naruto really didn't understand how she could be so incredibly bad at repairing her clothes, especially since she'd had to take a class on it. The things that girl could do with a seam just didn't bear thinking about, so Naruto generally clenched his teeth and did her mending in addition to his own.
"Oy, that tea fresh?"
"Yeah, but you don't get any because you're a cotton-headed ninnymuggins," he called back casually, fighting down the corners of his mouth. He heard his sister snicker from the other room- that one always made her laugh for some reason. Naruto wasn't entirely sure why. She'd taught him lots of bad words to call people and most of them didn't make her laugh at all.
Aiko wandered in from the kitchen (he hadn't even noticed her cross the room, when had she gotten so sneaky?) holding a cup of tea. "You look like doo," he casually commented, keeping one eye on his stitches and one eye on the way her right eye twitched. "I'm not sure what kind. Unimaginative bet is on dog doo, but I'm leaning towards sheep."
"Thanks, little brother. You always know just what to say." She flopped down onto the couch in a way that probably should have spilled hot liquid all over her. He'd been joking, but he hadn't really been lying. She must have come directly from her workout, because her bangs were still plastered to her forehead with sweat and he could see a line of bruises on the backs of her forearms- from blocking blows in a spar with a stronger opponent, probably?
He imagined that if he stared long enough, he would be able to watch him fade. Both of the twins healed quickly, but he never seemed to see it happen. It was almost as if bruises waited for him to lose interest before they scuttled off.
"What are you thinking about?" Her uncanny blue-green eyes were directed at him. Naruto loved his sister's eyes. They looked like what he imagined the ocean was.
"Crabs," Naruto said firmly. "Would you describe the way they move as a scuttle?" He waved his hands to demonstrate, light glinting off the needle in his fist.
"I've never met a crab," she said dryly. "When I do, I'll tell you all about it." Aiko kicked her feet up to rest on the arms of the couch, stretching one arm out precariously to set her tea cup down with a clink onto the side table. "Brother mine, love of my life, most clever and ki-"
"You're so full of shit it's coming out your ears," Naruto interrupted blandly, too focused on his mending to muster up an emotional response. "What is it you want mended?"
"I'll go get them." Aiko easily rolled off the couch and landed on just one foot, sliding into a walk without a moment's awkwardness. Naruto silently cursed his sister's coordination while she padded away to rustle around in the bedroom (they shared) and came back with what appeared to be a pair of her leggings. She tossed it at him, and he barely pulled them out of the air before they landed on his hair. "Please and thank you. "
"What's for dinner?" he called. He could practically sense his sister roll her eyes from the kitchen. She was clearly getting things ready- the icebox opened and closed, as did drawers and he could hear rustles. Then there was a knock on the door. Naruto blinked and then his sister was crouched beside him, frowning slightly.
"You expecting anyone?" she asked in an undertone. He shook his head, setting the needle aside and sliding a kunai out of his holster. Aiko gave him an approving quirk of the lips, moving to the door so quickly that she was just a blur of color. The tenseness in her shoulders fled as soon as she cracked the door and breathed deeply. "Um, hello sensei. Would you like to come in and have some tea?"
A tall man stepped through the door. 'He's weird looking,' Naruto marveled, putting his kunai away and picking his mending back up again. This was his first glimpse of Aiko's sensei. He was slouched over like Shikamaru, dressed like a Jounin, and had hair like he'd stuck a finger in a light socket. When the tall guy turned to pass one eye lazily over Naruto, the boy stiffened. The dark blue mask over his jaw moved slightly, but Naruto couldn't tell what expression was being made. "Maaa, Aiko," the old guy rumbled. "No tea, thank you. I came to tell you to get ready. We have a last minute mission."
"Duration?" Aiko asked briskly, draining her tea cup and starting towards the bedroom.
The old guy 'hmmmed'. "Oh, hard to say. We're tracking a Chuunin level missing nin. Should be an easy introduction into the craft. I'd pack light. We're going to be doing a lot of running."
"Is this why you've been pushing my speed so much?" Aiko called from the bedroom, sounding calm despite the sounds of frantic packing.
"Exactly." One dark eye drifted over to examine Naruto as if it could x-ray down to the thoughts in his head. Naruto scowled, crossing his arms and giving the intruder a stink-eye. 'Who does he think he is, budging in here and dragging Aiko away when she just got home?'.
His sister bounded back into the room, wearing twice the weapons she had been before and toting a navy blue knapsack. She nearly barreled Naruto over when she gave him a hug, grinning fiercely and poking his nose. "Eat your junk food tonight, but be sure to cook real food tomorrow, okay? Be good, stay safe, and don't prank Mizuki 'til I get back."
Naruto harrumphed, dutifully leaning back into the hug with his chin resting on her shoulder (and ugh, he was going to be taller than her one day soon, believe it!) and rolling his eyes. "Yes, mother," he drawled, pleased by the attention but too grown-up to tolerate it in front of a stranger. The old guy seemed to flinch, his one visible eye flickering to Aiko's bizarrely colorful hair. Naruto startled and gave the old guy a distrustful stare. He didn't like leaving his sister with a stranger, especially not one this weird.
Unfortunately, no one asked his very excellent opinion and the two ninja sped out of the apartment building, leaving him alone and bored.
Even with all the stamina and speed training she had done since graduation, Aiko had to grit her teeth to cope with the pain in her feet and weakness in her legs after a few hours of running without stop. Kakashi-sensei had been very certain that she had a lot of potential for speed, and it was one of the few things he actually trained her in. He'd been right, but the pace they needed to keep in order to gain ground on a ninja of a higher rank like a Chuunin was wearing on her quickly. Her hip, knee, and ankle joints were all screaming with pain by the time he allowed her to have a break, crouching to speak quietly with the brown, scruffy looking dog he'd summoned. In a moment, he dismissed the dog they'd been following and whipped through hand seals and summoned- is that a pug?
Aiko ignored the ninken that she was pretty sure would answer to 'Pakkun' and drained half a bottle of water, then gulping down a quick dissolve pill that should restore some of the salt she'd lost through sweat and reduce the amino acid burn from the run. She flopped to the forest floor and bent into a straight-legged stretch, trying to calm her heartrate and breathing through sheer force of will.
"Who is this?"
Aiko looked up at the surprisingly deep voice, somehow not surprised to see that the pug had invaded her personal space. When her teacher didn't speak up, she managed to catch her breath enough to briefly introduce herself. "Uzumaki Aiko, happy to meet you."
'Very happy. He's so cute! I wonder if it's too undignified for a ninken to snuggle?'
"Pakkun," the pug said simply. He snuffled at her side, causing her to yelp when she felt his cold nose through her thin shirt. "So this is-"
"My student," Kakashi interrupted smoothly. The dog gave him a look that indicated the two would be having a talk later, but let it slide. He pointedly nudged her tummy with his square head, and Aiko reflexively scratched behind his ears and stroked down his back. His fur was so sort- it was more like petting a bunny than a comparatively coarse dog. The girl couldn't help but smile. It was the first time she'd really met a dog in this lifetime, but the doggy scent he gave off was comforting and very familiar. Maybe she'd been a dog person in her past life.
'Did Pakkun know Kushina and Minato well enough to notice a connection with my scent?' Aiko pursed her lips. It looked that way, which would also explain her teacher's uncharacteristic interruption. He was often rude, yes, but generally through inaction like his failure to introduce the two parties than by actively doing something rude.
"Pakkun, we're on the clock," Kakashi drawled. "Make friends later."
"No respect," the small dog grumbled, reluctantly leaning out of her reach and sniffing around the area. "Yeah, I have the scent. We're damn close. Your prey is weak and slowing down, so we should be able to catch up within the hour at most. Why are you taking your pup on a hunt, boy?"
Aiko almost choked, eyes wider than what she could pretend was dignified. 'I don't think Pakkun talked to Kakashi like that in the manga,' she thought weakly. The idea of her strict teacher being referred to as 'boy'…. It didn't bear thinking about. Said teacher looked more amused than anything.
"Maa, Pakkun, I'm starting to think you don't trust my judgment. I wouldn't have brought the pup if I couldn't keep her safe. This should be an easy introduction to real missions, even if she is still out of shape despite months of my best work," he casually insulted. Aiko felt that eye twitch start up again. She willed the muscle spasm to stop. "Alright, break is over. Let's go." With a sigh, Aiko gave one last stretch and climbed to her feet. As the small group started running again, her teacher let the pug take point and slowed down to run beside her. "You know," he said quietly, "You're going to see your first kill. We don't bring missing nin back alive, but we can't allow them to go and make Konoha look weak either."
Momentarily stunned, Aiko struggled to find her footing on the next landing. Her teacher didn't comment, but she didn't fool herself into thinking he hadn't noticed. "I see," she managed. "I… I suppose that makes sense." It did make a terrible kind of sense. Kakashi was famous as both a ninjutsu specialist and a tracker, and he had spent roughly a decade in ANBU. Of course he got a lot of hunting missions.
"You're a good kid," he said quietly. "I just want you to remember why we're doing this. You got stuck with me for a teacher, so you unfortunately are going to pick up my specialties, like retrieval. This is just a run to gain experience for you. You're going to hang back, and if I assess that the situation is going poorly you will obey my orders immediately. Is that understood?"
"Yes sir," she automatically replied.
His attention slid up front and he leapt ahead at the exact moment Pakkun gave a rough bark. A moment later (it might have been a quarter of a second or up to three whole seconds later, Aiko's brain seemed to have decided it wanted to process time in new and interesting ways) a lithe figure exploded from the tree tops, aiming a hard kick at Pakkun –the throat, it would have him choking in his own blood and knock him off the branch he was perched on, the fall was too far, he couldn't land safely. Her muscles moved without her knowledge to position her so that she could catch him if he fell. The dog couldn't possibly dodge it in time, but her sensei was suddenly there deflecting the blow and forcing her backwards with straight taijutsu.
Aiko felt like her eyes were about to pop out of her head, but she couldn't stop staring. She'd improved her speed by almost a hundred percent since she graduated, but what the fighters were doing was downright insane. She could barely keep track of them as flashes of dark and light and rustles of clothing flickering in the branches of the enormous Konoha trees.
It was damn hard to tell, but the Chuunin they'd been sent to retrieve (at least, that was probably the opponent, especially as she'd immediately aimed for the ninken tracking her) appeared to be a dark-haired woman of extraordinarily short stature. 'For some reason, I pictured a nondescript man in uniform.' Aiko tried not to wince. She hadn't really thought of the missing nin as a breathing human being- just a target, a filler character. 'He's going to kill this person,' she dully realized. A real person. She felt her breathing speed up, but couldn't control it. She leapt backwards, keeping both combatants in her vision but painfully aware that she was outclassed and had been told to stay out of the way.
She hadn't realized just how enormous the gulf between a genin and a Chuunin was. It had always seemed so easy and natural- that if she just kept working she would get there one day as a brief stop on the road to being a Jounin who could protect Naruto and herself. But this was insane.
Aiko knew damn well that her sensei was a monster among shinobi- one of the absolute best. But this woman seemed to be keeping up with him surprisingly well, despite the obvious signs that she was drained and desperate. 'She must be a taijutsu specialist,' the ten-year old hypothesized. And wasn't that counterintuitive- to see such a tiny woman holding her own in a physical fight against a tall man.
The whole encounter lasted perhaps twenty seconds and boasted at least three times as many blows, from her desperate charge to the instant when Kakashi slid under the woman's guard and dispassionately snapped her neck. 'A bloodless kill,' Aiko numbly registered. 'So that he doesn't bother Pakkun's nose. He must think we still need to do some tracking.' She only noticed she was shaking when her sensei shot her an inscrutable look.
"Pakkun, check ahead. If she set up traps, I want to disable them before we go. Aiko-chan, come here." She steeled herself, then leapt to her teacher's side with two agile jumps, remaining in a slight crouch over the lump of flesh that was a living breathing human being until very recently. "Do you know how we dispose of bodies?" he asked tonelessly.
'Sealing scrolls?' Aiko twitched, feeling her stomach roil. 'No, don't be stupid. That's an expensive resource, it wouldn't be used for a low-level nin like this. That would only be necessary to collect on a bounty.' She took a steadying breath. "We burn it?"
"Correct. Watch my hands." He steadily worked his way through six hand signs, then breathed in deeply through his nose and pushed one hand out, encased in a flickering orange flame that leapt to cover the body. In an instant, every inch of flesh was shimmering through orange fire- then it blackened, then there was a horrible stench and the corpse crumbled in on itself and burst into greasy ash. Aiko coughed, waving one hand in front of her face to try to keep from breathing the material in. Her sensei dispassionately flipped through three hand signs and blew out a harsh blast of air that scattered the remains through the tree tops.
'The metal didn't burn," Aiko observed. It had been distorted in the sudden heat, but she could still pick out buckles from boots, a thin sludge of what must have been hidden senbon, and two kunai from a thigh holster.
"That was strangely anticlimactic. She was here and now she's dust." Aiko stared blankly at the ash on the wind. A warm hand landed on her head, fingers gently rustling into her hair.
"Being a ninja isn't usually glamorous or climactic," he rumbled. "Most of it is quick, dirty and altogether unpleasant. The types of battles that kids play at in Academy- only the real elites fight that way. It's more of a vanity thing than practical."
"A dick measuring contest," she said without thinking. She actually felt her teacher stiffen. 'Ah, oops, probably not an age-appropriate metaphor,' she realized too late.
"Ah, I suppose," he said, sounding spectacularly uncomfortable. He gave a deep sigh. "Pakkun, report."
"All clear," the dog barked.
"Thank you," he said absentmindedly. The dog had just enough time to nod before he was dismissed. "All right," he sighed, pushing one hand through his hair. It got stuck and he had to tug it out. Aiko forced down an inappropriate smile. "Now we go home and report. Do you want to take a break here? You did well keeping up. I wanted to catch her before she got to the first town, where she might have caused more trouble and complicated the mission."
Aiko consciously didn't look at the branch they were standing on. "No, I'm good." She gave her teacher a weak smile, noting how weary and old he looked. She suddenly wanted to perk him up- he shouldn't look like that. He was only in his twenties. "Come on, old man" she teased, nudging his ribs with her shoulder. "I get it already, you're a total badass. Are you going to make me that fast?"
Her teacher snorted, shoulders relaxing imperceptibly before he took off in a blur of movement. She gave a cry of indignation and hurried to catch up. "You're years away from that," he taunted. "You can barely run in a straight line. I think you should master that before Jounin level taijutsu, eh?"
"I'd be happy if you'd teach me anything instead of beating on me all day," she faux-accused. She really was learning- it just wasn't the kind of thing she could show off. Becoming a faster runner and putting on muscle mass wasn't nearly as cool to demonstrate as crazy taijutsu or elemental jutsu.
She regretted the taunt when her teacher gave a low chuckle. "Well, if my cute little student needs to be taught, I suppose I can dream something up."
The next day, she reported for her promised training and was pleasantly surprised to get her primary element tested.
"Water?" Kakashi's mask moved as if he was biting at his lip (that really didn't hide everything, why had Team 7 been so irritated by it in the anime? It was just a thin piece of fabric). "Well, I'm no expert at that one but I suppose I can get you started. That's my least favorite element," he cheerfully announced.
"Gee, thanks," she grumbled, dropping the soggy paper to the ground. This was her least favorite part of the training ground- she hadn't come here since her accidental cat murder. She very carefully did not look at the scorched earth to her right. 'No one knows. No one will ever know.' She suppressed a twitch. It was like that Poe story with the beating heart. She just couldn't stop thinking about that goddamn cat. And it seemed like there was no way that Kakashi hadn't noticed her discomfort. 'Is that why we're at this specific part of the training ground? Is it just a coincidence? Is he trying to coerce me into confessing?'
"Don't worry, once you've mastered all the water jutsu in the world we can start you on a good element." Aiko drooped. 'Somehow that's not reassuring.' Her teacher coughed lightly. "Pay attention, Aiko-chan."
The technique he'd showed her was bizarre, ill-suited to Konoha's climate, and incredibly familiar.
"You want me to practice turning into a puddle of water," she said blankly, kicking at her sensei. He materialized from the puddle of –well, himself she supposed, and wasn't that ewwww- and grabbed her ankle, giving her a stern look. "I was envisioning something with some sort of combat potential. Or any kind of potential, really. I suppose that'll be useful if I ever get a mission to investigate the soles of rainboots."
"Don't be a smart ass, it doesn't suit you. Did you catch the hand seals?" Obligingly, he ran slowly through them one more time while she copied. "Good. This element transformation should come comparatively easily to you. More importantly, once you have this down, you'll be able to apply the same skill to summon a mist to hide in, make a water clone, and do a couple other nifty tricks, like causing rain in a small area."
Aiko blinked. "Oh," she said dumbly. "That actually does sound useful."
"It's almost like I'm your teacher or something," Kakashi drawled sarcastically. "The hard part is going to be chakra saturation- in order for this to work, you actually need both respectable reserves and the ability to manipulate almost all of it at once. You won't actually lose most of it in the jutsu, but it needs to be transformed from the neutral state to water type."
Aiko found herself alone on the training ground long after her sensei had slunk away for the night, incredibly frustrated. "Why can't I make this fucking jutsu work?" she outright hissed, flinging her hands up and desperately wishing for something or someone that she could hit.
Too stubborn to give up, she abandoned her normal workout routine for the night in order to concentrate on getting down the one jutsu her sensei had trusted her to learn. She thought that she had the first part down, at least.
After hours of trial and error, she could now transform the neutral chakra at her stomach, head, and other main gates into water natured chakra easily and quickly. Seeing as how that didn't do anything, however, it clearly became obvious that it wasn't enough. After that it was a rush to either flood her chakra coils with the new water natured chakra or concentrate on changing the lingering remnants of chakra in her coils in the same way she'd changed the stored chakra. Unfortunately, the first method seemed to require an exact speed of release that she hadn't mastered, and the second method seemed to require more concentration than she could boast of. If she focused on the floating chakra, her reserves faltered back into their neutral state.
'I'm going to figure this out if it kills me,' she vowed. She'd never failed at a jutsu before, and she wasn't about to start now.
Kakashi slouched a little further, silver hair tickling the back of his neck. He really needed to do something about it. Eventually. "I admit I had doubts about taking a fresh genin out hunting, but she performed well in the field. She displayed a relatively healthy reaction to seeing a kill under controlled combat conditions. It doesn't seem far-fetched that she could be trained as part of a hunter unit. My initial reservations about whether or not that'd be a waste of a potential front-line type still stand, however. She'll probably excel in either specialty."
The Sandaime Hokage smiled, giving the reporting Jounin his full attention for a split second while he was switching out stamps. "Excellent, Kakashi-kun. I am glad to hear it. I've always heard good things about Aiko while she was in the Academy, but of course that doesn't always translate to field performance."
"Actually, she's weirder in the village," Kakashi mumbled, trying not to think too much about why his student got so damn twitchy every time they went to training ground 7. It was probably safer not to know. He lowered his book to address the Hokage directly, but still held Icha Icha up high enough to obscure most of his face. "But her work ethic is satisfactory. I have been concentrating on her speed and endurance. I would say she's actually on par with experienced Genin in those two areas. She's a rank beginner in taijutsu, of course, and her weapons aren't much better. Now that I'm momentarily satisfied that she can be trusted to make it to a mission, I'm teaching her some mostly evasive jutsu so that she doesn't get skewered by someone out of her league. That would be everyone, of course."
"And to think you claimed you didn't want to train genin for so long," Sarutobi pointed out, not bothering to hide his smile.
Kakashi gave him an uncharacteristically sharp look. "I don't," he said shortly. "But Minato's kids deserve to be taught right. Aiko has her mother's chakra type, which probably makes her our only water type in that generation. I was never good at Kushina's whirlpool style jutsu, but I can teach it to her well enough. She deserves that legacy." He turned his face away from the Hokage's partially sympathetic and partially frustrated expression.
"She isn't her parents," Sarutobi said, a little harshly. He narrowed his eyes, gave the Jounin his full attention and even focused a little bit of intent in his direction. "You understand that?"
"Yes, of course." Kakashi's head twitched into something an optimist might term an incline. "Is that all, Hokage-sama?"

okay but that one episode in House where Cuddy is in the hospital and House couldn’t get himself to be there by her side to comfort her without reaching for Vicodin always makes me tear up so bad
when she finds out she gets pretty pissed
and it was always so fucking sad to me because they both knew that House wasn’t cut out for the relationship, and knew damn well he has a lot of emotional baggage
and it’s okay to hesitate when going into a relationship with such person, you have to be prepared for everything. and it’s hard to be prepared for anything with someone like House [and Cuddy is a perfectionist, she NEEDS to be prepared for anything in order to survive]
anyways, what makes me so upset when thinking of this is:
she knew he’s an addict and yet expected him to *just stop* taking pills cold turkey.
truth is that in my experience this medication allowed his brain to function and shut down his emotion.
i mean
i genuinely hc that he has ADHD
and it’s a very personal HC but i have nowhere to talk about this so yeah
but there was a couple of months in my life when i abused medication. in a pretty dumb way, so i can’t ever say i was an addict, because it was psychiatric medication, if i filled my prescription too soon doctor would know and as a 14-15 yo kid i wasn’t going to explain to my family that i’m abusing medication because my antidepressants never work and the doctor doesn’t bother to listen to me saying that i genuinely think i have ADHD
anyways thing is, when i ran out of the anxiety medication i abused that calmed my brain down (so that i could focus, and not be “dumb” in school)
i didn’t know what to do
so i went for my insomnia medication, since i didn’t have anything else, it wasn’t exactly helping me focus, but it would severely sedate me so that i wouldn’t be able to think about anything and then i could just skip school by sleeping for 13 hours or more
the only reason i stopped was because i was still underage and it’s my obligation to go to school. and i didn’t have an excuse for feeling dizzy other than “i feel bad, i don’t want to go to school” and then i would just sleep
anyways my point is i think it was my way of coping with ADHD, i think very quickly and am all over the place, careless and make mistakes when i need to actually apply the concept i’m thinking of
and it feels similar to why not taking Vicodin would freak him out and make him “a bad doctor”
for me having ADHD is like having a lot of energy that you have to put SOMEWHERE!! whether it be literal physical activity (hyperactive), brain activity (distraction), or both
losing the use of his leg only because nobody would believe him felt unfair, he had no control over it. and the anger (energy) and the lack of ability to let it out (through sports) made him 3 times as bitter, miserable and fucking unbearable (/lh)
also the need to pick up a hobby and putting your everything into learning it but dropping it once you “succeeded” and looking for something else to do hits close home
i mean yes it’s more of a head-cannon but he knows a bunch of languages (at least spanish, hindi and mandarin, the last two of which he is fluent enough in to read and carry out conversations) and its not even that he plans on using them, he just does it for fun, to keep his brain moving; and nothing else
he picks up physics because suddenly he has so much time to spare when he can’t do his work properly and hey, physics is hella interesting, why not learn it as well?
and that’s what i find myself struggling with, when i’m trying to stop emotional eating for example, or when i’m trying to stop overachieving at school for the sake of focusing on what i actually want to do
and that’s why i’m very depressed because i want to do so many different things! but i’m bound to waste 8 hours at school not learning anything because i either don’t care about it or care too much and the teacher can’t do their class without me talking with them all the time
on top of that; Vicodin clears out all the “useless things” including some the fear and distrust he has towards everything and everyone
when he’s sober and realises Cuddy, someone he tried so hard to break down all the mental walls for, could possibly die
it overwhelmed him, because he hasn’t been in a proper relationship in years
and that’s why it was so infuriating to see this
and i’m not defending House, because i know i hated him a lot of times during the time i watched the entire show
but he’s relatable in ways no other character ever was to me

stopping by to say hello 👋
and i have a question about Jake and Addie. What does Addie do? Like hobbies, career etc. I just had auditions for my company’s production of the nutcracker so I was curious to know if you had any idea as to what Addie enjoys doing. That’s all!
Love you love you love you 😍
-Ada 🩰
Hi Ada!
Congratulations on your audition and good luck! I hope it went well!
Most of Addie's hobbies revolve around her adventurous, outgoing nature. The nickname adrenaline (addie) comes about when she's a kid because of how hyperactive she is and how she's always up to something. She's constantly a mess, constantly running around outside, constantly getting in trouble with Jake. She's full of adrenaline, more than she's an adrenaline junkie, and her hobbies reflect that sort of personality.
She's adventurous and outgoing in that she's not afraid to put herself out there in any capacity and try something new and different, not that she wants to be an adrenaline junkie (I think this in part because having a friend like Jake around would fill anyone with the confidence to go out and try something new because the fear of failure isn't as overwhelming when a friend like that has your back so unconditionally.) and a lot of her hobbies revolve around that lack of fear.
Conveniently, I was just telling a friend that Addie would've been in theater in high school. She likes acting and putting on a show in large part because (being adventurous) Addie loves to mix things up much the way actors get to switch between being themselves and the characters and (being outgoing) put herself out there. Also, as long as Jake was there to support her, she wouldn't be worried about messing up or making a fool of herself. She would be able to go out and give it her all without fear. This would've been a hobby that, for her, died out in high school because she just didn't have the time anymore in college, but she'd definitely still call it a hobby of hers if you asked because she loved it and still appreciates it deeply.
She also strikes me as the type of person whose tried a little bit of everything. We all know that friend (or are that friend) who picks up a hobby for a month or two, buys all of the supplies, learns the basics, starts getting decent at it but stops because they don't want to put in the effort to master it or because they got bored? That's Addie.
Acting sticks through most of high school because by its very nature you're always switching things up, but Addie will have tried lots of other hobbies during and after high school/college/into adulthood.
If you can name it, she's probably tried it at some point. She took a boxing class for a while; Jake tried to teach her to fly; she copied a lot of Bob Ross painting tutorials, etc. etc.
Drawing, hiking, and cooking would've had big college phases because they're comparatively cheap hobbies. There are abandoned sketchbooks with half-finished drawings of Jake in them scattered throughout Addie's house; she has lots of pictures on hikes with Jake where she's a hunched over, out of breath, mess, but he somehow still looks picturesque even when drenched in sweat. Jake was the guinea pig for many a disgusting, failed recipe in the early days, but with some practice and access to the Seresin family cookbook, Addie would've got pretty decent at that.
She wouldn't consider it a hobby, but Jake will have taught her to play pool at some point in college. And when she goes out with her girlfriends she will always make a point to lure some poor schmucks in who underestimate her and take all their money. Jake will always be very proud of her for doing so. He also will have tried to teach her darts, but that will have ended catastrophically while she's actually pretty damn good at pool.
In the aftermath of college, when Jake leaves for the Navy, she'll pick up slightly more meticulous hobbies to keep her mind off his absence; those won't last too long either. She will learn the basics of chess, thinking its a very involved hobby that will require a lot of her brain power and keep her mind off Jake, but she'll give it up relatively quickly because she only wants to take her mind off Jake in theory not in practice. She buys a pottery wheel. She's shit at it, but she doesn't care because she likes making a mess and smashing some clay when she's angry (who doesn't). She'll also get back into theater a bit, mostly helping out community theaters behind the scenes rather than doing the acting because helping make sets takes a lot of time and that occupies her mind from the sad parts of Jake being gone while reminding her of the good times when he was there.
At all stages of life, she loves a roadtrip (whether you consider that a hobby is up to you, but I do); she takes a lot of them with Jake. The change of scenery, weird obscure sites along the way, dropping everything to go see the world's largest (insert something weird and unnecessary here) all appeal to a sense of adventure that isn't particularly outdoorsy or particularly adrenaline inducing. She goes on them less as an adult because she always wishes Jake were there.
As an adult that has a paycheck, she'll also have bought a nice camera. This is one of the few hobbies that really sticks. Not that she tries very hard to be good at it or considers it a hobby. She doesn't care about the quality of her pictures. She cares about the preservation of the moments she took the pictures. All of her weird extraneous hobbies are preserved for all time. All of her weird roadtrip destinations are documented. She sends a lot of pictures to Jake over the years, and he keeps them all.
She also is a letter writer. Hard core. Every picture comes with a letter. She writes letters to him almost constantly. Letters are a huge part of her friendship with Jake. (Again, not sure if you'd count that as a hobby, but it's part of her.)

Hej hej! Lets see here... Had this on my mind a while. SO I am writing it out.
Tumblr media
Me between 10 - 16: Keeps playing with ponies, gameboy, read comics, watch cartoons, draw, rp and walk in the forest with my dog. Animals rock! No interest in sexual contact but these animated characters in these movies and these books are kinda hot. Get bullied at school. Everyone else 10 - 16: Searching boy/girl friends. Learn makeup, clothes, how to smoke, drink, have sex, party hard. After a while get first panic attack practicing 'adulthood' to hard. -------
Tumblr media
Me between 16 - 25: A nervous insecure mess, study up math I didn't finish and meet some cool like minded creative friends. Still enjoy drawing, reading, rp and watching cartoons. Went to my first nerd convention. Still don't like sexual contact but drawing/writing characters all in love are cool and hot. Everyone else 16 - 25: Still party hard. Move between apartments, and might have gotten married and had a one or a few kids. Start working part time, learn to drive, drink legally and travel countries. ------
Tumblr media
Me between 25 - 32: Had my first panic attack. Tried working on 5 different places but never get full time employment due to my lack of experience, depression and work pace. Move into my first apartment. Have long art blocks, feel's like I must grow up and wasting my time with everything I love doing. The sentence of get a kid now or it be to late have intensified. Still don't like sexual contact but drawing/writing these character having sex are hilarious and hot. Everyone else 25 - 32: Have had at least 3 jobs, lived in another country and trying to get into Universities so they can get better pay or dream job. Had a divorce. And more kids. Gets hobbies. And a house. Those who waited the longest gets their first kid. Some have walked into a wall and gotten burnouts. ------
Tumblr media
Me between 32 - 36: Goes to evening classes in art. Gym. Allowed myself to enjoy my creative outlets like drawing, reading, rp, cartoons and being weird. Have a good therapist. Tries not listening to anyone finding me lazy/dumb. Still don't like sexual contact but I am obviously attracted to certain characters in cartoons/books/comics. (everyone in books are animated in my head lol) Everyone else 32 - 36: People have calmed down. If they doing anything its about traveling, work or family. If your lucky they talk about hobbies too. Those who walked into a burnout are taking better care of themselves and realizes how hectic human society have become, hopefully.
SO Some paths are more accepted as normal in our world and low energy humans have an extra hard time. Often gets called lazy and they not trying hard enough. Sure we could try harder, but we will run into a wall quicker and our health will fail. So what if our environment/communities find ways to use our strength early on instead of pushing us into depression? Anyone with me. yah!! \o/ I'm sure I can find a way to be of use. Think I'm actually doing it by existing. ^^ Simply takes longer with work. I have to find my path myself while others rode the wave. So. A work place with less pressure, preferably comfy environment, good scheduled, learn while you do it work (apprentice) instead of high education or work experience? I want one job I like and do it my whole life thank you~ Am I reaching to high? whatever. I am already late. to everything! =w =-

The Clockwork Man Chapter 2: Sakurasou
Notes: This is part of a bigger story project dedicated to Teru Mikami's past. It's still in the rough draft stage, so things may be subject to change. Please leave feedback if you enjoyed, it would encourage me greatly.
Middle school was another matter entirely. The more I confronted evil the more enemies I had to face. Victims would become participants and even the people watching would be influenced by evil and become enemies themselves. But for justice to triumph, it requires action so I realized to serve justice I had to delete evil.
Flute music blended into the spring atmosphere, where it was blue from the sky, bright green from the grass, and pink from the cherry blossom trees all reflected in the clear water running through the stream. Although Teru always loved his mother’s compositions, he could not help but think, this particular one, Sakurasou, had a sad tone to it.
His mother explained to him that she intended it to be that way because, sometimes, the most beautiful things in life were sad. At the time, Teru could not really understand what his mother meant by this. As he watched the cherry blossom petals fall from the trees and drift through the water, he wondered what middle school would bring.
—April 1st, Meisho Year 15, a new semester of Toyogaoka Middle School begins—
The teacher of the First Year, Class B introduced himself as Mashimo-sensei, and required every student in the class standup at their seat and give a short introduction about his/herself which consisted of their name and/or if they had any nicknames, their elementary school, and their hobbies.
Teru listened attentively as each boy and girl in his class stood up and gave their introductions. When it became his turn, Teru began, “I’m Mikami Teru. I attended Birakoshi Elementary School. My hobby is reading. Good to meet you.”
As Teru sat down, he heard one of the boys who sat behind him, Shibuki Soshu, snickered and muttered, “Nerd.”
            That was only the beginning.
Shibuki, along with Haruno, Mikajima, and Oye went on to harass and attack Sakai Noboru, whom Teru tried to defend, but in the end, both Noboru and Teru became a bloody mess on the boy’s bathroom floor. The four boys beat people up, stole things, and broke school property but got away with it, because of a lack of evidence, but Teru knew.
By the end of the first week, Shibuki Soshu, Haruno Kyuichi, Mikajima Hachigoro, and Oye Junzo four of the worst delinquents, established themselves to be the “rulers” and the worst troublemakers of the class, maybe even of the entire freshman grade.
One afternoon, because the weather was warm and sunny, Teru thought about having his lunch on the benches of the school grounds. But when lunchtime came around, his bento had been stolen. There had been no way to find out who had stolen his lunch, it was as though it had vanished. However, Teru had suspicions it could have been the works of Shibuki, Haruno, Mikajima, and Oye.
Teru sat on the bench, frustrated, trying to figure out when and how it could have been taken from him. He was determined to take on all four of them if he had to, even if he did get beaten up again like last week when he ended up with a bloody nose from getting punched too many times and his glasses crushed by Oye.
While Teru was sitting hunched over, angrily staring at the floor, a shadow came into his line of sight. Teru turned to his right to see it was a girl, who had to be one of the upperclassmen because she looked big—taller than him and definitely passed 13 or 14 years old. She had wild, untamed dark brown hair, wide eyes, and was smiling which made Teru subconsciously soften his expression.
“Hey there! Is the seat beside you taken?” she asked.
“No... go ahead.” Teru answered as he moved further right to make room for her to sit.
“Thanks,” she continued in her bubbly voice.
Teru gazed at her for a moment, but remembering it was rude to stare, he looked back straight ahead.
“You’re not going to eat? Or, you finished your lunch already?” the girl asked him.
Teru looked back at her and responded, “No, I... lost it.”
The wild-haired girl’s expression went from happy to sympathetic.
“I’m sorry to hear that,” she responded automatically. She then held out her wrapped bento towards Teru and continued, “Here. You can have mine.”
Teru’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Are you sure? Then, you won’t have anything to eat.”
The girl smiled once more, giggled, cleared her throat and joking said, “It’s okay, it’s the senior’s responsibility to take care of our younger ones. Go ahead, you don’t have to hesitate! I hope you like tamagoyaki, okura, and fishcake though.”
Teru bowed his head to her and thanked her as he accepted her lunch. He hesitantly unwrapped the bento box, took out her chopsticks and ate her lunch slowly.
“It tastes delicious.” Teru then said.
“I’m glad you like it!” the girl said with her smile that made him feel warm inside.
“Senpai, what’s your name?” Teru asked reluctantly, but he felt like he had to know.
“Hm? Oh, I’m Asakura Shoko. “Asakura,” spelled with the Kanji of “morning” and “warehouse.” “Shoko,” as in “shinning” and “child.” What’s yours?”
“I’m Mikami Teru. “Mikami,” as in “Mi” the Kanji from the word “bewitched,” and “kami” as in “above.” “Teru” is spelled with the same Kanji as your first name, “shinning.” He answered shyly.
“Wow! We share that one Kanji. I’m bad with remembering people’s names, but that makes it easier for me to remember yours!” Shoko said cheerfully.
But it matches you unlike me...You actually shine...when you smile, I can’t breathe. Teru thought to himself as he watched her face.
“So, what do you like to do for fun?”
Teru had to think for a moment before answering her question.
“I like reading, mostly. I enjoy the Morphbots manga, but I watch the anime too. But I... don’t have any specific favorite book or genre, I tend to read anything I can get my hands on. What about you?”
Shoko then crossed her arms, held her chin with her left hand, and looked up at the sky and said, “Hmmm. Definitely watching Godzilla movies and drawing!”
Teru was somewhat let down by her answer. He did not like Godzilla because Godzilla is not justice.
“Asakura-senpai, why do you like Godzilla?” Teru asked curiously, trying to hide the disappointment in his voice.
“Because, his designs are so cool!” Shoko said enthusiastically, going into full-Godzilla fan mode.
“Have you seen Godzilla Y? Or Space Godzilla?”
Instead of feeling clarified, Teru felt even more confused.
“But if he was real, he would step on you. He’s not a nice guy,” He reasoned.
Shoko stared at him for moment, but broke into a giggle.
Her laugh is so charming...her smile...she’s pretty, maybe even beautiful...and perfect in every way... He thought as he watched her longingly.
“You should know, Godzilla saves humanity sometimes.”
Then Teru thinks, That’s not good enough, a hero has to save people all the time.
Teru noticed that lunchtime was almost over, he knew he didn’t want to give Shoko her bento box back without washing it clean first.
“Wait here, I’ll be right back.” Teru says to Shoko.
He rushed to one of the faucets outside, he washes Shoko’s bento box and chopsticks the best he could and dries it with his handkerchief. He wraps and ties it with her lunch cloth and rushes back to Shoko.
He hands it back to her. Shoko accepts it with a grin and says, “Thanks.”
“No. I should be the one thanking you. It was good, senpai.” Teru blushes and looks down at the floor.
“You don’t have to call me ‘senpai,’ just ‘Shoko’ is fine.”
“But that’s...It seems too casual.”
The school bell rang which indicated that lunch was over. Shoko, before turning around waves goodbye and says to him, “Well, it was nice meeting you, Teru. I guess I’ll see you around.”
“It was...so good to meet you, too.” Teru stammered as he sadly watched her leave. He missed her even before her figure was lost in the crowd of other third years.
When Teru went back to class, he had forgotten all about trying to find who stole his lunch. His thoughts were replaced by her.
Shoko Asakura, who was as lovely as the sakurasou blossoms. The perfect girl. He wished he could eat her delicious cooking every day. He wished he could call her his lover, his wife.
That night he had dreamed about her. In his dream, he heard her laughter, he could see her naked from head to toe but she vanished as soon as she had appeared. He was lost in the woods and no matter how far he went, how fast he ran, he could never catch up to her.
Teru woke up that morning feeling simultaneously wonderful and sorrowful. He finally understood what his mother meant when she said in life, sometimes the most beautiful things were sad. Because Teru knew Shoko most likely had forgotten all about him already.
He knew Shoko wouldn’t be interested in him, someone like her must have had countless admirers. Not to mention Shoko herself probably had a crush on another guy, someone probably older and shines just as much as she does.
            But, so what? Teru thought.
Even if she never likes me back, it doesn’t mean I can’t express my love to her in some way. I can do it in a way she doesn’t have to know that I’m the one who admires her. She deserved to know that she is loved, regardless.
With that, he takes the best quality paper he can find in his desk, a pen, and writes his first anonymous love letter to her
Notes: I wanted to imagine a scenario where Mikami falls for a woman who doesn't normally seem like his "type." After all, I don't think it is impossible for Mikami to have a crush on a bubbly, extroverted girl. I hope I was able to write the scenario in a believable way, though. And to clarify, in case you have never heard of "Sakurasou," it is the name of the Japanese Primrose. I chose this flower for its symbolic meaning of "eternal love." The source is here in case you want to take a look. Last but not least, a big thank you for reading this. 😊

Ranna in Middle-earth, 2022
I'm not much for new year resolutions, but perhaps I should make one to actually post more about my gaming in the brief moments that said gaming gets to flourish in between all the lesson planning. XD Anyway, at the end of 2022 I got back into LOTRO a bit, so how about a brief recap?
OK, right, this isn't going to be all that brief and there are going to be screenshots, so time for a read more! Click to read what I've been up to in LOTRO, including the introduction of this guy...
Tumblr media
In November, having seen someone's hobbit lore-master post and being thrilled to discover that was now an option, I made a hobbit Yolotli Itzli. :-D
Tumblr media
But she mostly wears her hood up to cover for the lack of braided hair options on hobbits... :-(
Tumblr media
Around that time, my main, Lennidhren (also a lore-master, but elven since I've been playing her since long before hobbits could pursue this most delightful of classes), has hit level cap and started exploring Gundabad! But then I thought maybe it'd be a good time for more alting until the level cap is raised again so the quests she's doing there could give her XP again...
Tumblr media
I've actually not leveled Lottie very far yet, but did switch over to Fjiola for a bit; she's in the 30s and now questing around Esteldin (but being photographed only in Bree, apparently)...
Tumblr media
HOWEVER while she was doing that I had a sudden urge to try the new Brawler class. So, continuing my efforts to make all the Itzlis as hobbits, I went with Violet's older (second-oldest) brother, Corbus, a.k.a. Audie's nemesis. :-D
Tumblr media
And it turns out Brawler is ridiculously fun to play, so I have basically spent all of winter break that I wasn't baking cookies or visiting family playing this fierce little dude.
Tumblr media
He has acquired a cat...
Tumblr media
And a matching title. :-D
Tumblr media
And a hobby...
Tumblr media
And so many pretty screenshots...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And so many questionable fishing spots... :-D
Tumblr media
And now he's zooming around Moria!
Tumblr media
Brawler seems to involve rather a lot of one-shotting enemies on the first punch, sometimes even if they're several levels higher than him, so zooming is accurate. Especially when I'm used to playing a lore-master! XD

//Hello! I just got done with an exam that was bugging me, and I’ve been a bit quiet lately, so here’s another update on how things are going.
As I mentioned in my previous ooc post, study stress and overall difficulty concentrating has been a persistent annoyance and obstacle from writing, so I’ve been taking steps to improve my habits.
Probably my best decision, I’ve recently started going to BJJ and MMA classes! My physical activity has been sorely lacking since the covid pandemic began, so I knew that was one of the main issues to tackle. I’ve been enjoying them a lot and I think this is going to prove a very good change for my mental and physical health, the effects of which should become more noticeable in the mid-term. I kinda went from 0 to 100 with them, so last week was exhausting and rather painful, but I don’t regret it. This week was a lot more pleasant and I can already tell I’ve regained much of my discipline and reflexes.
Besides that, I’ve been trying to be more mindful of my sleeping habits and go to bed at the right hour. This is still very much a work in progress, it’s tough to beat that self-feeding cycle of “I can’t focus so studies take longer, I have less time to myself and I can’t make full use of it either so I’m reluctant to end the day, I didn’t sleep enough so I can’t focus”. I think this will be a gradual process, though I can already tell that the greater physical activity helps make me feel more tired and willing to rest.
I’m diversifying my workspace as well, since that can help your brain distinguish when it’s time to work and when it’s time to rest. But I’ve been inconsistent on which spots I use for work, which I use for (thinking-heavy) hobbies and which I use to rest, so I’ll need to correct that in order to really make this effective.
Anyways, I was hesitant to make this post until I could really show this progress as opposed to talking about it, but I figure it’s better than staying quiet for very long. I also don’t quite now how early I’ll really start to improve my pace in writing, setting goals is tempting but too many times my predictions on this blog (or Ornstein’s blog, my God) have been proven wrong so... we’ll see how that goes.
Besides working on replies, I might also do a few of those headcanon prompts I’ve been tagged in (thanks all who did! Even though I haven’t really been doing them lately, I appreciate that you still thought to mention me). Also wondering if some tweaks to the blog might also help with motivation (reviewing the rules, the about page, using more “distinct” and consistent tags... might even try making tags for each dynamic, maybe even for alternate versions of the same muse as well, but I’m still undecided and can’t promise anything yet).
Oh, and I fixed the issue that was making submissions impossible to send, so that’s a start. With that said, hope you’re all doing well, and if not, may that change soon!

I’m going to be in the process of revamping my Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel self insert. It’s not going to be too much of a change but it’s going to refine some of the rougher edges of this design. This includes removing the sort of, for lack of a better phrase, “twink curve” the self insert has and making it so the body type closer resembles my actual body type, including slightly more broader shoulders. Not that that’s the reason for the change; it’s mostly because the only version I have of my si is pretty jagged in quality atm.
Tumblr media
That being said, some people have questions concerning why my character has such a human face. Although he isn’t the first character to have a sort of normal human face in terms of structure (Alastor and Charlie for example) my character retains very normal facial structure and tone and color and lacks any animal ears or demonic markings. But that’s only because that human face isn’t actually his real face.
For context, he is a fallen angel. I don’t know how exactly fallen angels work specifically in the canon of the show, but what I do know is that this is what I want my SI to be. Figuring out the “how” can be adjusted as more information is revealed and I can change the process accordingly. (In addition to this, although it’s commonly said in general Christianity stuff that humans don’t become angels when they die, they become saints, humans aren’t supposed to become demons when they go to hell either. However, in the setting of hazbin hotel, sinners are a class of demon. Because of this, it isn’t too far fetched to think that a saint can be considered an angel classification. Also the wiki says humans can be angels so yee.)
That being said, what I’m wanting to emphasize is that true form is of the shadowey figure. Essentially, that shadow face with the white eyes becomes what his actual face is when he’s in heaven (and remains his true face in hell). It represents how during his life he spent most of it trying to be what other people wanted him to be. He never developed his own identity and struggled with hobbies, social interactions, etc because he spent his whole life doing what his family and “friends” wanted him to do. He didn’t have a sense of his own individuality. In fact, no one on Earth even knows that he’s bisexual with a slight male lean. That’s something he kept completely private until he was killed and went to heaven.
His interactions with IMP when he was still a normal human (I’d assume this involve whenever IMP went to the human world) helped him on the right path funnily enough, but it didn’t change the fact that he still struggled with his own identity. That’s why, upon his death, even when he became an angel at some point in heaven, he still had a shadow with glowing eyes for a face. He still felt like a shadow of what he thought he was supposed to be.
So, when he finally decided to go to hell for reasons that he developed on his own, he became able to wear the face he remembered having like a sort of mask. So at the very least, he has a way of showing his identity. It is him taking his first real step since he made a decision that could have grave consequences to his well being, but he did come to make the decision on his own.
So yeah, tldr, the human face he has is technically a mask he manifests, and the “mask” resembles the face he had when he was still a normal human.
Just figured I’d put this here in case anyone was confused is all. Especially since I have I’ll keep this aspect of him canon throughout future posts with him and Loona.
Oh and another side note, not sure how fallen angels’s abilities can be expressed, but I would like it for my character to be able to traverse to the other rings. I know that sinners can’t do that, but so far no information has indicated whether fallen angels are forced to abide by the whole “must stay in the pride ring” rule that Sinners have to abide to.
Currently, my character is able to go down a couple levels of the ring, but with each descent he gets much weaker. The lowest ring he can go to is Lust, but if he stays there for too long he dies and respawns in the pride ring (we know that sinners can only be perma killed by angel weapons. Whether they just respawn in the pride ring or some other thing occurs has yet to be indicated. I am just working with the information we know so far).

☀️🔥❤️🌼🔪 + Faith?
🌼 Write a short drabble from your OCs POV meeting their LI (or if they don’t have a love interest, their best friend. If you don’t want to do a drabble, describe their first meeting instead!)
In a corner of the stairwell less than ten inches away from her heel, a crushed spider is cringing erratically between the static grey fibers of the carpet, flanked by its own furry white eggs; surrounded by family in its death throes like a convalescent in a hospital drama.
Faith winces, trotting shakily as far away from the little scene as she can get. She doesn’t stop until her bare feet are teetering over the edge of the top stair, the fragments of honey colored nail polish flashing on her toes as they flex. She grips the railing with one hand and hugs herself with the other, holding the wool of her nightshirt closer against the stale chill of the basement.
Of her current situation, absolutely nothing is allowed. Up past bedtime, up past lockout hours, trespassing in the boy’s dormitory, trespassing in the staff areas, all while wearing clothes that don’t belong to her; Faith tore her own pajamas on an exposed nail, playing tag ten minutes before lights out one energetic night last month. She went to Gabriela in tears, and instead of telling her to go fess up the older girl spat out her gum and laid a pilly old Donald Duck nightshirt in her arms.
It smelled like talc when she first got it. Now, all Faith can smell is dust. Every light in the stairwell is half dead, but it’s darkest at the foot of the stairs, an old cross on the wall and a wooden door encroached upon by shadows.
Faith swallows as she stares downwards, a faint ache in the back of her throat. Just as her mind turns to weighing the pros and cons of going back to sleep and trying the door, it begins to open. She stops breathing, going stiff like she can disappear into the wall like a chameleon; a boy around her age pokes his shaggy head out.
He’s as pale as glue, peering up at her with eyes so wide she can make out their blue color from here. He looks her up and down once, and then speaks.
“What’s up?” He asks hastily in the loudest whisper he can muster.
“Nothing. Nothing’s wrong. I didn’t think anyone was here.”
The boy blinks. “What do you want?”
Faith takes a deep breath for what feels like the first time in ages. She has an answer, but for some reason, it’s hiding under her tongue.
Lucky for her, he provides one. “You want an ice cream sandwich?”
It’s the best thing she could hear in the moment; against herself, she smiles, taking a few steps down the stairs. “Thank you.”
“Walk quietly.” He hisses, even as the door creaks dangerously, opening further to signal her admittance to the kitchen. It’s only then that she realizes there’s a white spot on his chin, and as soon as she does, he’s wiping it.
“Thank you.” She mutters again. “I missed dinner.” The boy’s arm extends as he opens the door all the way; they don’t creak when you swing them fast, you only have to remember not to let them hit the wall. His head jerks, stuck between a nod and a shake. “That’s okay, it was awful. C’mon.”
☀️ What makes your OC genuinely happy? A person, an item, their hobby? Where is the place they’re happiest, or most at home? What is the happiest they’ve ever been?
Faith loves the early early morning, before anyone else has woken up. She was very young, like five or six, when she started getting up at dawn every so often as a coping mechanism for the general chaos and lack of control in her life, and never fully stopped. As a kid, she rarely had a problem making her first class on time, though she didn’t necessarily stay for the whole school day.
As long as the driver’s someone she trusts, she loves to ride in the back of trucks; she appreciates the sense of freedom that comes with driving in general (palpatine.ironic.jpg,) and whatever struggles with self image she’s had were always soothed a bit by the tattoo of the calla lily on her arm.
🔥 If your OC known for having temper tantrums? If not, what gets them really angry? What makes their blood BOIL? Is there anyway to calm them down or are they unstoppable? What are they like when they’re angry? Do they take it out on their loved ones?
Faith… well, she doesn’t walk through life an angry woman, but she's not incapable of a good bitch out when she’s feeling vulnerable/slighted. Being deliberately ignored probably gets to her in a major way. Given her tendency of shoving down her emotions, if she does have an outburst, it’s likely to be short, but highly unexpected, the polar opposite of a young Joseph’s drawn out highs and lows.
For most of her life, Faith wore a golden Our Lady of Guadalupe necklace. Her father bought it before she was born in a pawn shop in California, and left it behind when he left the family. When she was seventeen, someone snatched it out of her beauty bag while she was sleeping. When she woke up and found it gone, she freaked out, got in a slap-and-scratch fight with one of her housemates, filed a police report that she knew damn well would go nowhere, and ended the day by going to throw rocks at a wall behind an abandoned Sears. This was part of the reason she left foster care before she had to; she just couldn’t trust the girls in her house the same way anymore.
❤️ What would your OC’s ideal lover be like? Appearance, personality, voice? Would their family approve or would it be civil war?
“Man who goes half and half on the rent without asking” is a sentence that can make her swoon. Ideally, she’d like someone who spoke Spanish, and had a big family she could mesh with - like parents who were still together and a gaggle of cousins, not a bunch of siblings in the wind.
Those Seed/Escajeda parents-in-law who were still alive to see their children marry were equally ambivalent, and Joseph’s brothers only ever knew her by the tattoo on his arm; in a perfect world, she and John would probably have an awkward friendliness between them, and she and Jacob could tolerate each other. He comes off as the sort of hyper-perceptive brute that would put someone like her on edge, hidden depths or not.
🔪 Has your OC ever killed someone? Ever had to defend themselves against violence? How did this make them feel? Or, alternatively, has your OC ever attacked someone? Seen someone die?
Not really, in the main verse; she saw a girl overdose late one night in the group home when she was thirteen, but never found out if she lived or died.
In the cult leader-verse, I mean. Yeah. Faith’s killed lots of someones. I imagine she’s the sort of figurehead who breeds a culture of paranoia and one-upmanship that encourages her followers to kill each other for her, while herself partaking in a sort of ritual shaming which culminates in murder and/or torture. Anyone who survives this level of wrath from Faith is probably worth “rehabilitating” afterwards in her mind, being brought back into the fold as a subordinate, more loyal than ever; with the cypress trees to hide her sins, she’s a real horror of a woman.
