ALL legion reboots miss out on how useful (and funny) it would be to have two invisible kids' on the team.

It would be hard enough to fight ONE guy while he's invisible, but having TWO of them going at you? Infinitely harder.

But also, they would be so good at pulling pranks

what kind of powers would you give jai west?

Oh easy. I would give Jai his father's ability to siphon speed from objects/people, his father's ability to briefly pause time and I'd make him unmoored from time like his father.

What this does is it makes Jai the accountabilibuddy.

It makes Jai the Buffy to the speedsters.

By making Jai unmoored from time, you are giving him an immunity from timeline changes and the ability to know when a speedster is fucking with time. If a speedster wants to get rid of Jai they can't just go back in time and kill him as an infant or something. He's completely immune from any and all timeline changes. And let's say a speedster changes the timeline so that they are the king of the world now. Jai would essentially go to sleep in one timeline and wake up in another. He'd be perfectly aware of what changed.

The ability to siphon speed from people and objects gives Jai a buffer zone. Think 'The Turtle' but instead of an area where time moves slower, Jai would make an area surrounding him where kinetic energy gets absorbed. That means that the speedsters can't power through it. They can't throw objects at him or shoot him. He has a bubble around him protecting him from harm.

As for very briefly pausing time I think that should be the hardest thing for Jai to do and it should only be used in extreme circumstances. Also I think he should only be able to hold it for five minutes and then he'll pass out afterwards.

You've basically got a race of immortal, reality bending demigods and the only people who can keep them in check are themselves. Jai is a speedster but I want him to be a highly specialized speedster. He's the check and balance. He's the counterweight. The speedster hunter. He's an apex predator designed to take them out if need be.

But he isn't a supervillain. He's a really great guy and everyone is super proud of him. He maintains the timeline and he's more of a spy/covert operative than a hero but he does good work.

I just really like the idea that Irey is supposed to grow up to be the most powerful speedster that has ever existed and Jai is the only one who could ever take her out. It's like the speedforce gave an unprecedented amount of power to a child and then created a twin solely as a 'plan b: break glass in emergencies' contingency.

#he's the yin to her yang. the pb to her j. the pepper to her salt.#she's all powerful and there to shine and make a difference and be the hero #and hes there to take her out if she strays from that path #but on a less serious note he always kicks Eobards ass for fun #jai is the bane of the reverse flashes existence. if they show their face around him he will take them out in a snap #i think itd force the narrative to rely more on the rogues and less in evil speedster #number 156 or whatever #also Jai could very easily be taken out by a non speedster so he doesn't need an accountabilibuddy himself #jai west #surge #dc #dc comics #the flash #irey west #iris west ii #impulse #kid flash

Okay but get this... Jason and Piper keeping Leo company and talking to him while he's working on the Argo II. He works best when he's not paying attention to whatever he's working on after all, right? And leaving him alone to overthink usually doesn't do any good. Now imagine them pulling all-nighters with him. Jason sticks around more often than Piper does. And they just talk. And savor each other's presence.

What sorts of stories do u like writing? Any ideas ur excited about right now??

I’m kind of newish to writing stories, so I guess I don’t have a set genre/preference yet. I wrote a lot of fiction as a kid but got bored of it eventually, and I never finished anything. The most I’ve done since then is creative nonfiction essays, which can be cathartic but definitely a very different skillset.

I haven’t gotten an idea for an original story yet, so for now I’m just working on fanfiction. I’ve been thinking kind of obsessively about the Zelda II backstory ever since I thought it would be fun to imagine what would mean for all that to go down in the context of the canon that’s been established ever since.

Originally I was just going to write a story about Aurora and her brother (who I named Itentio), two Golden Age siblings under immense pressure who are at each other's throats until the bitter end.

But the more I thought about it, the more I became interested in Aurora's life after waking up, so now this idea has evolved into a LU fic. The POV flips from Traveler to Aurora to Dawn, and we get a flashback scene from each of them while the present-day story deals with them confronting their respective pasts.

I'm still kind of in early drafting stages, but so far the story involves Traveler's dad, Aurora's dad (lots of dads), Dawn's political life, uncertainty vs. certainty at the end of the world, rehydrated wizzrobes, the blood curse, monsters who don't want to be monsters, and lots and lots of magic.

#i rewrote this so many times idk if it's coherent anymore #i probably should have waited until i had more energy but i was too excited to not infodump immediately #i did the exact same thing u did lmao like oh she probably doesn't want every explanation for the worldbuilding i did #apparently it is so much??? i could go on forever about the zelda ii manual #isn't it interesting that the palaces could only be completed with magic #like the king not only had powerful enough magic himself to cast a spell on the triforce but he also designed challenges #for a future king that relied on magic #it's because they're from the same place!#an isolated country of sorcerers who don't have a divine right monarchy like Hyrule #they choose leaders based on who can complete the sacred seven trials #also isn't it interesting that traveler has to learn those spells from people who are hiding in basements #could it be that most hyruleans are a little spooked by their magic?#must have something to do with all those old legends of heroes who fought evil sorcerers #traveler would really rather not unpack his past. would be a shame if the narrative forced him to #okay enough ranting in the tags i am SO TIRED this must all look so unhinged lmao #hy writes #weetbixbb

i’m trying to be positive about “Leap. Die. Repeat.” (s1e11) because for a while it seemed like it was focusing more on the leap and the parts with the project were dealing more with the leap (for the most part) , but towards the end where they’re trying to give magic this whole ultimatum of Option A) pull the plug or Option B) trust janice. and it’s the Be All End All but i’m like. trust ben. don’t you believe in ben? isn’t that what this is all about at the end of the day?
