Leo revved up the motorcycle, and Nico let out a slight gasp near Leo's ear, barely audible over the hum of the bike. The son of Hades instinctively wrapped his arms around Leo's waist—loosely, but the with the good motive of not falling off.
Against his better judgment, high from the power under his fingertips, Leo grinned, slightly nodding back to Nico. "You better hold on tight, di Angelo."
To his surprise, Nico complied. His hold tightened, every inch of his torso against Leo's back. His chin jabbed his shoulder. Leo let out a shaky breath, nervous butterflies bubbling within his stomach for the first time since the flight—but not because of the bike.

my experience with percy jackson is kinda funny in hindsight because reading the first book for the first time i was like 'no way...thalia mentioned!!!!'
#the fool speaks#for clarity - i read the third??? book in elementary school before the others because i needed to get a higher reading level book from#another class and was very shy so they just asked if i wanted percy jackson and handed me the third??? book. it was. as you may have guesse#a tad confusing#and my memory of it is not great thalia was the only character i could really remember. i guess apart from The Percy Jackson.#so anytime they'd talk about the tree and thalia i was like I Know That Tree. I Know That Name#i always wanted to actually read the series from the beginning but never got around to it because a girl in church talked about#how she couldnt even read it anymore because of the gay character#now i am gay and finally reading again! its fun! i love being a nerd again!#(yes i cannot wait to meet nico for real LMAO)#Anyways i finished the first book! love how percy's adhd was portrayed! im going to pick up the second one from my library soonish#if it's in. but i have two books ahead of it an im torn on which book i should read#my heart wants to continue percy jackson but i probably should be getting started on one of these two...#one of them is probably mid at best though T_T#also i do want to watch the movies now that i have read the book so i can understand just why it was disliked. i cannot remember the#movie that well either. the first half of the book seemed pretty similar to what i remembered. the ending was definitely different#i assume thats the majority of the issue? but as i said. cannot remember it that well.

ohana holoholo sure was a manga lol
#personal#uhh the concept was nice#but its like the characters being bisexual opened things up love triangle-wise like its a soap opera#i think if it was just a slice of life abt an unconventional family that wouldve been a bit better to read#it got v frustrating w the love rivals and i didnt understand the main characters both sharing the same feelings and then agreeing to not#act on them#i dont think it treated the nico character well either lmao#the end felt very sudden. like she knew she couldnt ignore him and keiichi but did some soap opera shit instead#i guess its not terrible and i didnt drop it (im glad it wasnt some lgbt torture porn) but also it did feel frustrating#i'd rather see that recommended than boys run the riot or our dreams at dusk though#but also i'd say read run away with me girl instead of this. it does suck it was weird abt nico tho#it feels rare to have a bisexual male character thats not treated poorly (though its not the best here lol)

he put nico and bianca in the hotel to protect them from Zeus yes, but he also knew what could happen should they reach 16 so by putting them in the casino he offset the prophecy for as long as he needed
and then Zeus broke the deal. And Thalia started getting dangerously close to safety where she ran the risk of unknowingly starting war just by getting older. Anyone can admit that attempted kidnapping and murder was excessive, but he got what he wanted in the end. Thalia was “dead” she couldn’t turn sixteen and the world was safe.
with the helm and bolt missing, he probably figured either the Percy problem would take care of itself on the quest or after. But then he met the kid, and he heard about Kronos and you can just almost see the panic moment thinking about his own children locked in the Lotus Casino and the girl in the tree. All of the sudden it’s “i have to stop this i have to stop this i have to stop this” but the sanctuary was rejected, the boys left and now Kronos will rise
but not without Hades doing his best to stop it
