No you guys don’t understand, I went into TMA completely blind with only a faint idea halfway through season 1 that Martin might develop vague feelings for Jon by the end of the series. That was it. I thought it was just going to be just Season 1 format for five seasons. (Puts on creepy clown makeup.)
Then I got to the Season 1 Q&A, and I was astonished by Jonny and Alex’s chemistry. No, really. I watch a lot of sapphic YouTube, and they finished each other’s sentences and laughed at each other’s jokes like long-term wives. They agreed on just about everything—especially for the more complex questions—and their disagreements were playful and adorable.
(I was like, if these two aren’t dating yet, then they should. They should do it for the gays.)
Well, I was completely and utterly wrong. (Jonny is married to Sasha Sienna, Georgie’s VA, and Alex is married to Hannah Brankin, Rosie’s VA. The former is actually quite narratively satisfying.) Both through personal experiences and disappointment in other media, I’ve been so primed to be skeptical of cishet-passing white men who write speculative fiction. And yet, Jonny and Alex turned out to be just two people who genuinely care about representing diverse identities, respecting the audience’s investments in the characters, and leaning into the plot’s natural progression instead of resisting. They’re just wholesome men.
ngl, it kind of reminded me there is still hope in the world.
They are incredible writers, and honestly? You probably should co-write with people that are as compatible with your vibe and wavelength as a romantic or queer-platonic partner would be.

in order to improve reading comprehension and prevent needless online discourse tumblr rolls out a new feature: author's notes
it appears as a notepad icon (🗒) on the left hand side of the posts ui, and is visible for everyone on every iteration of the post.
only the op can add/edit an author's note, and it works similarly to the ALT text function. once the post is made an author's note can be edited without editing the entire post, which makes it easier if the original iteration of it is deleted, or in the case of any similar event.
the feature also comes in with built in tone indicators that the op can choose from a drop down menu, such as: light hearted, satire, serious, etc.
AUTHOR'S NOTE this post is abt a hypothetical feature that does not exist, and probably never will
#btw i believe this feature would make the user experience worse as this is the 'not reading urls' website#but then again when a post is something that might touch a raw nerve. being able to add disclaimers would be nice#since oftentimes people on here act as if posts need them 😭👍#piksla.txt

y'all have no idea how much effort goes into trying to interpret and respond to some of the questions we get about aromanticism lol.
like kee does so much tonal phrasing to be nice about this, but. please. "what is aromantic?" i am not google. "i don't know if i feel romantic attraction." cool, i'm not gonna be able to tell you what it feels like either. "hi, what if I am a person and not one of the major aro stereotypes?" then you are a person who is aro and doesn't fit that stereotype.
and like, whatever, we deal with those fine. but the worst. the absolute worst. is the ones where the ask is more or less requesting me to speak for aromantic people as a whole, or - worse and more commonly - a specific subset of aro people who i may not identify with, and almost always insist they aren't trying to be bad, but have such a questionable mindset behind it that i feel like i need to start with "how to identify that you haven't unlearned shit, you just realized you have an identity and stuck your tongue out at the people who taught you that shit"

My boy Shino deserves some attention from someone he can spoil, honestly. Like! Beekeeper person and Shino sounds super frickin cute. They're both off-color people who can find comfort, and understanding, from one another that they just can't seem to get from others.
It'd make Shino's treatment in the Boruto anime more bearable, at the very least...
NO BECAUSE IMAGINE if beekeeper got to go back to konoha with them and live with the Aburame. Shibi would 100% just go oh ok cool free child and take them in I know it.
I also feel like Shino is acutely aware that people find bugs and parasitic jutsu weird/creepy/gross and that's partially why he doesn't have a partner in Boruto. Even if people around him aren't openly freaked out by it, I could see him having a lifelong anxiety about upsetting people with his insects. You know who he would never be worried about finding it gross ever? Yeah, another parasite user.
I will say though I'm not a Boruto Shino hater, I actually greatly enjoy the direction they took his character in.

this is the silliest thing i've ever written. crack treated FAR too seriously. i wrote it in the span of 17 hours, beginning to end, after blacking out at the stupid concept of 'steve with powers tied to his hair except his head was always shaved so the lab figured he was a dud and tossed him into hawkins' ... i present to you, tangled!rapunzel fusion steve ... set in canon and remarkably goofy (but also insanely serious? btw it fits SHOCKINGLY well in-canon). despite how the concept was born, this fict doesn't have anything to do w the lab, though. just keep that in mind!
