So my roommate is also into One Piece. I’m not sure if he’s watched any of the anime, I know for sure he’s watched the live action, but earlier tonight he came upstairs and watched a few episodes with me while waiting for a food delivery, and then he got hooked, and then he sat and watched MORE episodes with me without really knowing what was going on. But it was still wildly entertaining to him, esp since I’m right in the middle of one of the (arguably) best arcs rn, and now he wants to finish the arc with me LOL. NOBODY is immune to One Piece propaganda. Or Bon-chan 🥰

Agreeing to get there in fifteen minutes was stupid! Their apartment was on the far side of town! Agreeing at all was stupid, anyway. Her siblings would kill her if they knew she was meeting a guy, practically a stranger, in the middle of the night, like, what was she even thinking—
She saw Lukas ahead, and all that thinking just went away. He smiled warmly as Mist got close, and now she just felt stupid for making him worry.
“I’m so sorry, you really didn’t have to do this. I’m fine, really,” she rambled, and he laughed.
“You didn’t ask, I offered, dummy.”
“Well, yeah, but...” She trailed off, fidgetting with the hem of her shorts.
“You been on the beach yet?” He nudged her shoulder, and she glanced up with a smile, then shook her head. He flicked his head in that direction, and after a brief hesitation, she followed him onto the sand. “Me neither.”
She narrowed her eyes at him. “No? Not even for fresher’s week?”
He laughed. “Naaaah.”
“Really? That surprises me.”
“Because I look like a beach party guy?” he asked, brow raised in amusement.
Mist flushed. “Kinda,” she mumbled.
“It’s the tan and the blonde hair, right?”
Don’t answer that. Still, he chuckled at her noticeable silence.
“You’re half right,” Lukas admitted. “Love the beach, hate the people on it. Drunk people even more so.”
“Alcohol and unpredictable water does sound like a terrible combination,” Mist reasoned. “Especially at night. A recipe for disaster, really.”
“Exactly. And I wouldn’t be able to stop myself telling people to cool it, ya know? I’d just ruin their fun, so I stay away.”

i am a strong believer in not being rude to young kids on the internet, especially in like kid-friendly media spaces, but sometimes i cant help but wish young kids would stay off of the internet and out of fandom spaces.. like sure, ten year olds are allowed to like saiki k but theyre also the ones that ruin all the comment sections on tiktok or youtube lol..
any time someone mentions a ship, there r hundreds of those "WHAT!! 💔💔 no... saiki x coffee jelly is better!! 😿 if you need to ship, ship saiki x the normal guy! but i ship them in a platonic ship because its better!" "poor saiki.." "saiki doesnt have a crush on satou he just thinks hes interesting, stop shipping them!! 😾" "saiki HATES TERUHASHI !!! HES IN LOVE WITH THE GYARU GIRL!!" comments, and on ANY saiki k video in general there are like "saiki would never be nice to them like that! he hated them!" "this is the most canon saiki k video ever, its so accurate how you made saiki hate all his friends and tell them to shut the fuck up every time they talked!"
i think the youtube comments are all kids (9-13 probably) and the tiktok ones are more teenagers (14-17 i would say).. its annoying either way lol..

"It wasn't a bomb, Jes, it was a minor contact explosion. I think you're being a bit dramatic."
"Me?" said Jesper, clearly affronted. "Me?" he repeated, waving his arms at Wylan, who could do little more than lean slightly away from him in the narrow space. "I'm being dramatic?" He scoffed, then shifted a step back to gesture at the shattered porcelain, cracked tiles, and scorched wall in the tight corner at his right. "You blew up our toilet over a spider..."
Wylan crossed his arms and turned away, cheeks red. "It was self-defence," he mumbled. "It bit me in the—" He stopped abruptly, cheeks impossibly redder as his eyes dropped to the floor. "Never mind. I just needed to make sure it was..."
Jesper raised an eyebrow. "Dead?" he suggested, but Wylan didn't answer. He was staring at something in the rubble, breathing starting to quicken. Jesper followed his gaze and saw it just as Wylan all but tackled him into the wall in a bid to reach the door: there was a large brown spider emerging, seemingly unscathed, from between a pile of broken floor tiles.
"Saints, all that and you didn't even manage to kill it?" Jesper called after Wylan, who'd gone scrambling down the hallway. He rolled his eyes to the ceiling, then regarded the spider with a tilt of his head. "Doesn't seem fair that I'd kill you now after what you've survived, so come on, hurry up..." Jesper got down on his knees and reached a hand out for the spider to climb on. "Let's get you outside before my dearly beloved can get his hands on more explosives..."
