Hii hope you are doing good, I was wondering if you have any tips on how to grow your nails and stop biting them, cos I have naturally long nail beds so its not like my nails are rlly short, but I do want to have more feminine hands are maybe start getting frequent manicures but I don’t know how to stop the habit of biting my nails especially when i’m nervous xx
Hey love, first things first, thanks for trusting us enough to ask for tips! 💕
We have a couple options that can help you:
• Find alternative coping mechanisms: Instead of biting your nails, try finding alternative ways to manage your anxiety. Maybe get some cute gold/silver bangles and play with those instead of biting your nails, vent about your current anxiety by writing them down on paper or even on the notepad of your phone, or engage in a creative hobby that can help divert your attention away from nail-biting.
• Set small goals: This method is apart of our “Habit Formation Guide” (click here to view) Break the habit into smaller, achievable goals. For example, focus on not biting your nails for a day or a week, and then gradually increase the duration. Celebrate each milestone to stay motivated! 🎁
• Use bitter-tasting nail polish: This is a game changer, Using a bitter-tasting nail polish specifically designed to discourage nail-biting. (Found on Amazon-click here- or target-click here-) Apply it regularly to create an aversion to biting your nails. 💅🏾
• Keep your nails well-groomed: Regularly trim and shape your nails to reduce the temptation to bite them. Use a strengthening treatment to promote healthy nail growth and prevent them from becoming brittle.
• Treat yourself to manicures: You mentioned you want to start getting Mani’s and we love that for you! Embrace your femininity by pampering yourself with regular manicures. The act of caring for your nails and having them professionally done can serve as a motivation to break the habit of nail-biting.
A short alternative: You can get acrylic nails (or press-ons) to start and let your real nails grow underneath. This may prevent you from biting them because they are much harder to bite on. It will also serve as a reminder to use other coping mechanisms when you are feeling nervous. Additionally, well-done acrylics can serve as motivation to grow your natural nails to match. The only downside is that keeping them on for too long can weaken your nails, so it's important to consider this as an option as well.
Breaking a habit takes time and effort, so be patient and kind to yourself throughout the process 💕 Embrace your femininity by nurturing and taking care of your nails. You have the power to overcome this habit and achieve your goal of enjoying beautiful, manicured nails.
Warm regards,
— Leah (CEO)

Hello :) time for more fashion/beauty tips, this time about fingernails! I don’t have the kind of money to get my nails done, so I do my own. I like them to be quite long. Here are my tips for just that.
Always have those cuticles moisturized. Whatever lotion or cream you usually put on your hands should suffice! Make sure you put enough on your cuticles, and massage it in carefully. I moisturize my hands and cuticles after every hand washing. Don’t stop at the cuticle, massage into the whole nail. You can use oil, too. I like sweet almond oil, because hemp and olive might leave a greenish yellow tint, and coconut oil is comedogenic, but if those work for you, they work for you! You can also slug up with petroleum jelly before bed. I find that petroleum jelly is nice for my cuticles in general, not just with slugging :)
As my nails grow long, I try to let them stay in the natural, curved shape they grow in, for if I cut and file them to an almond shape, the edges are more likely to get nicks, which not only leave your nails vulnerable to catching on things and tearing, but it can also catch on delicate things like lace and snag it :(
Anyway, constant moisture has made a big impact on the quality of my nails. Applying protective polish (Sally Hansen ‘hard as nails,’ for example) actually seems to contribute to the layers of my nails peeling, no matter the brand, so I let them stay bare. Also, don’t use your nails as ‘tools.’ For example, don’t lift soda can tabs with your nail, try to use your finger itself. Don’t pick at stickers and such from hard surfaces using your nails, either— I notice that causes peeling layers, too. And of course, get your vitamins and nutrients. All of them! Not just biotin. Since going (mostly) vegan, my nails have been a pretty, pristine pink and white. Maybe that’s less about the lack of meat and more about the way becoming vegan made me pay close attention to getting all my nutrients. Perhaps my intake of lots of water lends to the wellness of my nails, too.
If you succeed in growing your nails long but one breaks partially and you want to repair it, look up “how to repair a broken nail.” At least three of my nails were practically papier mâched on when I had been growing them out for seven months (right picture) and a broken, short nail was visibly disorderly.
When I paint my nails, I don’t push back my cuticles. I just paint carefully right at the edge of them.
Take care of your polish bottles snd store them properly. If the lid gets crusty and hard to twist from dried polish, wipe built up polish away with nail polish remover. I use an acetone free remover from Nailtopia for the sake of my nails, but it cleans up the bottles just fine. And if your polish gets thick and goopy but you’re not ready to give in, perhaps try a nail polish thinner. I’ve never done so before, but I might. Follow the directions on the packaging :)
Allow your nails time to breathe; leaving them free of polish for a few days. Personally I leave mine bare for many days at a time and paint them the night before going somewhere— AFTER I’ve washed my hair, because getting your polish soaked in the shower, in your wet hair, may cause the color to peel off. Leaving them bare and only painting them when there are places to go also leaves me with more polish to use for just that. As soon as my painted nails start to chip about two days after painting, I remove the polish, rinse my hands, and moisturize, leaving my nails bare for days after.
Finally: I know not everyone has the ability to prioritize nail growth over, for example, working with your hands, and that’s okay. This is just what works for me :)

False nails : Which Technique is Right For You?
Tumblr media
When you are starting with nail enhancement and don't have any training, it may be difficult to understand it all and know which technique of false nails is better for you.
What is Nail Enhancement?
Nail enhancement is a process during which you cover and sometimes extend the nail with different techniques and products. The most popular techniques are UV gel, acrylic, PolyGel and resin. Nail sculpting can be done on natural nails or on false nails (extension), it depends on the lenght you want. Resin false nails
Tumblr media
Resin is a liquid glue which is applied with a brush. Resin is usually used with powder to create a solid and uniform result on the nails. Resin is applied on the nail before dipping the nail into powder and then reapplying resin on top. You can repeat these steps two or three times to make sure the color is opaque and uniform. Resin will not harden on its own, it needs an activator (spray or brush on) to become solid. Powder comes in a large spectrum of colors from many brands so you can use the resin technique for natural or very colorful nails, french manicures and even babyboomers (ombre). This technique cannot be used to extend the nail, if you want longer nails, you have to use false nails that you glue on with resin.  One  of the biggest pros of the resin technique is that you can disolve it in acetone, unlike acrylic or gel that have to be filed.  In France, this technique is called acrylic or ANS technique. To learn more, watch the resin application video.
Tumblr media
Acrylic nails Acrylic is another technique that requires the mix of a liquid (monomer) and a powder. This mix creates a souple product that you apply and sculpt on the nail. This technique is one with which you can extend the nail without false nails.  The extension can be done by using nail forms that you place under the natural nail to scuplt the product. Acrylic becomes solid while airdrying so you cannot take too much time for sculpting. The nails become very hard with this technique but not very souple. You have to file acrylic if you want to remove it.
Tumblr media
UV Gel nails UV gel is applied on the natural nail, without any mixing. Just like acrylic, you can use UV gel to extend the natural nail with nail forms. Gels are either clear or colored. Just like powders, the possibilities are almost endless! UV gel does not air dry, it has to be cured under a UV lamp, approximately 2 minutes for each layer. Gel is quite souple on the nails, unless you apply a thick layer.
Tumblr media
Polygel false nails PolyGel is a recent technique. It is a hybrid between gel and acrylic so you get best of both worlds: no mixing but a very solid and resistant result. The technique is quite simple, you need a small amount of the gel that you apply on the nail and sculpt with a brush and the slip solution to make the brush glide on the product. You can use PolyGel to extend natural nails with nail forms, PolyGel needs to be cured under a LED or UV lamp.  You can watch the Polygel video here.     Applying False Nails
Tumblr media
There are different types of false nails tips. Tips, which are also called french or conventional extensions. Those only cover half of the nail and have to be covered by resin to cover the entire nail. The french ones have a curve and the conventional ones have a straight line on the end which is glued to the nail. This type of false nail is used to lenghten the natural nail with the resin technique that makes the end result more solid. This gives a nice curve to the nail and the result is long wearing. There are also full lenght extension which cover the entire nail. Those are not used as much by professionnal since it is harder to have a rightt fit for each shape of nails that exist. Some people have a bigger curve in their nails, some have flatter nails so it is easier to work with tips.   Read the full article

Spirituality and Hair, Skin, and Nails
When it comes to the spiritual part of it,
Your hair is the protector of your crown. It’s important to nourish your scalp to improve your hair quality and allow your mindset to be clear. You can cleanse yourself just by getting in the shower and visualizing all of the negative energy melting off your body and all the bad thoughts melting from your mind. By doing this, you can help yourself feel more at peace.
If you work or worship Aphrodite or other deities that relish in beauty, you can wash your hair as an offering or wash your hair with products based on Aphrodite or the deities’ name as a devotional act. You can make the products, most easily with scents. Scents they love or are sacred to them.
Recognizing your hair texture
If you have straight hair, you will have straight strands when it’s wet and it will not hold a curl whatsoever without heat. If you have curly hair, or wavy hair it will hold a curl even if it’s slight when it’s wet.
Now on to the physical tips
-Wash your scalp with shampoo, and your tips with conditioner.
-Towel dry and then air or blow dry. Blow drying can damage hair if done too much.
-Most curlers take up to 12 hours to dry, depending on the thickness of your hair and the amount of curlers used.
-Don’t ever go to sleep with wet hair
-Brush your hair gently when it’s wet. Don’t always brush when dry, as it may puff up.
Now onto skin.
Your skin, which it’s most likely known to you, it’s the biggest living organism in your body. And it protects each and every chakra. It protects your muscle, and is an outer layer of protection for your intestines and internal systems.
You can cleanse your skin the same way as your hair, get in the shower and visualize the water washing away the bad energy.
As for the physical tips,
-Wash your skin with a body wash that doesn’t irritate your skin.
-Use washes for designated body parts.
-Pay attention to the oily-ness or the dryness on your face. Buy corresponding face washes.
-After you get out of the shower, or even when you go swimming, put lotion on. It doesn’t matter the amount of melanin in your skin, that won’t affect it. Water dries out your skin, it’s important to put lotion on.
As for the nails,
Your nails are the conductors of your energy. They have energy flowing through them constantly. Whether you’re expelling energy or receiving it. So when you get to your home or bedroom where it’s energy your nails are used to, it’s important to manicure them at that time.
For the physical tips
-Clean underneath your nails gently.
-Don’t pick at them. Don’t rip them off. If this is a habit of yours, then it’s important to get a substitute for it,
-Clip your nails to trim them, don’t rip them.
-File them to the shape you’d like. Also file them to get rid of sharp edges.
That’s all for today. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please follow if you’d like to see more like this, or suggest something.
I do readings, to book one please message me. They are 2 dollars per card. I take cashapp only.

Protect your nails!
Keeping your nails healthy and long is hard to do. Between work, cleaning, pets, kids, life and everything in-between, it can seem like your nails will always be weak and break constantly. Thankfully there are solutions for weak and brittle nails such as daily protection. By coating your nails from getting polished manicures and putting a clear coat of polish on in-between professional appointments, you give your nails added strength and protection. If you just do clear coat polish or even a clear strengthener you will see a HUGE difference over a short amount of time. My favorite is a keratin treatment from Nail-Aid which involves putting two coats to start, and then simply adding a coat every other day. After a week, remove EVERYTHING and start from scratch. I follow the same routine for other clear coats as well, unless instructed otherwise by the product. There are many choices on the market, find one for you that works best! It may take some trial-and-error testing because everyone's nail plates are unique! I also always suggest avoiding anything with harmful ingredients such as formaldehyde in brands like Nail Tek.
Hope this helps your nail growth journey!

Nail Health: A Comprehensive Guide to Strong and Beautiful Nails
Nail health is often overlooked, yet it plays a crucial role in our overall well-being. Understanding the structure of nails and common nail problems is essential for maintaining healthy and beautiful nails.
Understanding Nail Structure
Tumblr media
Nail Plate
The nail plate is the visible part of the nail that covers the nail bed. It is composed of layers of keratin, a protein that provides strength and protection to the nails.
Nail Bed
The nail bed is the skin beneath the nail plate. It contains blood vessels and nerves that support nail growth and provide nourishment to the nails.
Cuticle
The cuticle is a thin layer of skin that surrounds the base of the nail. It acts as a protective barrier, sealing moisture and preventing bacteria and fungi from entering the nail bed.
Lunula
The lunula is the whitish half-moon shape visible at the base of the nail. It represents the visible part of the nail matrix, where new nail cells are formed.
Common Nail Problems
Tumblr media
Brittle Nails
Brittle nails are prone to splitting, peeling, and breaking. They can result from factors such as dehydration, nutritional deficiencies, or excessive exposure to water and chemicals.
Weak Nails
Weak nails lack strength and are easily bent or torn. They may be caused by genetics, hormonal imbalances, or underlying health conditions.
Nail Fungus
Nail fungus, or onychomycosis, is a fungal infection that affects the nails. It can cause discoloration, thickening, and brittleness of the nails.
Ingrown Nails
Ingrown nails occur when the edge of the nail grows into the surrounding skin. They can cause pain, inflammation, and infection if not properly treated.
Factors Affecting Nail Health
Diet and Nutrition
A balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and protein is essential for healthy nails. Foods such as eggs, nuts, leafy greens, and fish provide nutrients that promote nail growth and strength.
Tumblr media
Hydration
Proper hydration is important for nail health. Drinking an adequate amount of water helps prevent dehydration, which can lead to dry and brittle nails.
Lifestyle Habits
Lifestyle habits such as nail biting, picking, or using nails as tools can damage the nails and surrounding skin. Practicing good nail hygiene and avoiding harmful habits can help maintain nail health.
Environmental Factors
Exposure to harsh chemicals, such as those found in nail polish removers and cleaning products, can weaken the nails. Protecting the nails with gloves and using gentle nail care products can minimize damage.
Nail Care Practices
Proper Hygiene
Maintaining proper nail hygiene involves keeping the nails clean and dry, and avoiding harsh chemicals and excessive moisture. Use a gentle nail brush and mild soap to clean under the nails, and moisturize regularly to prevent dryness.
