I almost pulled this out a while ago while I was weeding, but thought it was kinda cute so I left it. Then later I noticed the spiky stem and thought it might be a stray pumpkin seed or something, but now that I think about it, it's in the area I tried to plant bittermelon/ampalaya and it might actually be one of the broken seeds that survived?? The seedcorn maggots have attacked any hard seed I attempted to plant, so I ended up digging out the area I wanted them to grow and putting different things there. I just looked up pictures of leaves online and it looks pretty similar to some of them.... Hi!! Does anyone know what this plant is? I’ve used 3 different plant ID apps and none of them are right. I’ve gotten everything from Stonecrop, Agave, Lacinato Kale, to Woolly Lavender. I love these flowers, but have no idea what they are. My previous place had one of them growing. They’re so elegant!

Now some updates:

Camera stuff:

I’ve discovered that this camera saves everything as jpgs. Not my favorite. I think there will definitely come a point where this camera won’t be good enough - but since it does make images big enough to see detail, I’m still pretty happy with it.

Other:

I’ve managed to rearrange my desk, and to get video editing software that actually does things (An open source thing called “OpenShot.”). I’ve gotten a lot of other things out of the way, and have been rearranging plans. So it looks like starting, I’ll really be able to move forward with a lot of stuff I’ve been waiting on.

I still have more prioritizing and final decision making to do, but here’s the stuff that will be occupying my time: - Getting out in nature and getting macro pictures - Educational videos/podcasts with Dave the Scarecrow - Summarizing scientific research on plants - Print on demand stuff (Have been working on that for other art, but not for my macro photography) - Making sculptures and other art

In addition to that, I’m leaning towards going into freelance writing to support everything else for the moment. Hoping that should afford me the time to build up what I need to get my other projects moving (including a patreon, hopefully.)
