🕊 20 y/o, 3-5+ paragraph lit. Looking for some OC/OC action with the following plot! 🕊
Your new roommate is a ghost, congrats!
Y/C ended up looking into a sketchy ad, on a sketchy site, for a sketchy apartment. Down on their luck and with little other options, they decide to move in to a shared unit. Turns out, the apartment is haunted, insanely haunted. Almost every resident is a ghost, with some sort of unfinished business keeping them in the apartment. And you're stuck with the most troubled tenant - J.
With a punkish attitude, a lot of trauma from their shitty past, and a substance abuse problem, J (or Jay, with an a-y) is a young adult who wants little more than to live a peaceful enough life on the edge of society. However, things were complicated, following their murder and subsequent soul-confinement to the small area around the apartments. Restless, they seek answers as to who is responsible for their life being cut short - whether or not Y/C helps them, that's up to you.
A murder mystery? Interpersonal angst? Freaky FWB? Whatever you want, as long as we've got a chunk of plot, that's all that matters.
Note: Given the nature of the prompt and J's character, there will be dead dove elements (primarily gore, discussions of mental health, some gross/unsightly shit if you're comfy with written descriptions of corpses.) I want to do a role play with an OC of mine named Takane
Takane is a lonely girl with the ability to speak to the dead. She enjoys tea, candles, warm blankets and clothes, fire, books, sewing, exploring, philosophy, reading, writing, witchcraft, dancing, classical music, ice skating, winter, snow, rain, storms, flowers, dolls, and drawing.
I have a few plots in mind:
Slice of Life
Takane being a new girl at a high school where your character is tasked with helping her get adjusted
Your character is a college student and Takane is their roommate
(These ones are group plots)
Your characters are a group of friends investigating a mystery. They meet a mysterious girl who is already doing so.
Takane starts a literature club at school and, for whatever reason, your characters are joining that club
Your characters are a friend group that investigates an abandoned house rumoured to be haunted. There they meet Takane, who has befriended the ghosts there.
Fantasy
Your character is a Prince/Princess/Princex that Takane, a witch that has just recently completed her training, has captured and brought to a tower. During their time in the tower, they learn that witches capture future rulers for various reasons. Taking over their kingdom, using them as leverage for negotiating, things like that are the most common. Sometimes witches are hired by the King and Queen to capture an heir that refuses to marry so that their betrothed can ‘save them’ and ‘earn their love.’ For Takane, the reason is simple. To save future rulers that don’t want the expectations placed onto them from a life of misery.
I can easy come up with others but my dog wants to go out.

a small town with a population of less than three thousand, nestled comfortably at the foot of the black mountains in north carolina, clydesferry has always been chock full of rumors and rot, the truth being censored to be more digestible and to protect the history of the land and the mountains. erected atop the converging ley lines that lead into a hellmouth at the heart of the mountains, the town had long since been a point where mortals, myths and magic collided, and the people of clydesferry protect the secrets of their town more fiercely than a bear protects her cubs, but with so much death plaguing the founding families since the early 2000s and with whispers of ghostly spectres being sighted, the town now plays host to federal law and ghost hunters alike all while the witches attempt to make peace with the disrupted energies that dwell within the mountain, yawning with hunger.
goryfms is a semi - appless original character roleplay based within the southern gothic subgenre, drawing inspiration from cult classics, pieces of media and tried and tested tropes found in the subgenre.

Since the summer of 2022, FENRIR’S WOOD, a small city in the UK has been plagued with mystery. First the four murders during the summer, then the ominous dreams keeping seven Witches from sleeping, after that the five who went to sleep without waking, and now three students who disappeared into the woods.
To most, these were just coincidences, but those who already questioned the city’s secrets began to look more careful, and found the evidence clearly pointing towards the Supernatural.
To the WereWolf families of FENRIR’S WOOD everything points to the greatest challenge they’ve had to deal with: protecting their secret from an unseen enemy.
Yet a warning is etched through-out the city.
All curses must end.

I want to do a mystery/fantasy role play that's like an interactive story I write that the other person controls the main protagonist for. I want to create a small town for the other role player to interact with and learn the lore of, which I build on as we go. I want to make characters that the player can befriend or make into enemies and different storylines the other role player might take.
Basically I want to make a very complicated video game but through text and I don't have the patience to learn coding or write a choose your own adventure book so I want to do this. Would anyone want to do that?

i think my favorite thing about the hermitcraft murder mystery party idea is that stress and iskall will be writing the roles for people. stress and iskall. those two. will have sat on a call or in dms wherever they have them, writing the murder mystery roles for their friends. iskall is literally already snickering about the idea of mumbo having a role and there isn't even actually a concrete plan yet. like we'd need to throw all fanon out the window for "what role the characters would play" and instead carefully pull back in the window "what would stress and iskall think is funny to force the other hermits to play" which is way funnier,

Our first official original TTRPG, Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy is planned for kickstarter launch late 2023/early 2024!
Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy is an original, fully fledged, 200-page 2d6 TTRPG from The Agency of Narrative Intrigue and Mystery inspired by The X-Files, Kolchak: The Nightstalker, and much more!
Eureka features investigation mechanics that let players take initiative, use their characters’ unique strengths to find clues, and deduce conclusions themselves rather than to just walking into a room and roll Investigate.
Failed Rolls are not the End!
The Eureka! mechanic accumulates points throughout the adventure that can be used to help prevent investigators from getting totally stuck, but also a reward investigators for solving the mystery without ever getting stumped, because these points can be saved for life-or-death situations instead!
Tactical Combat!
High-stakes realistic combat can end lives in seconds through deep strategy that encourages careful thinking and allows for complex maneuvers. Thoughtful positioning, understanding of one’s surroundings, and having the right weapon for the job play as much of a role in victory as a character’s stats, if not more, which is good, because most of these PCs will not be larger-than-life action heroes!
Roleplay-driven Mechanics, and Mechanic-driven Roleplay!
Player characters’ personalities and ideals determine many of their gameplay mechanics, giving each character a totally unique way to play through Eureka! This won’t get confusing though, as all of these different mechanics use the same underlying systems that are easy to understand! Changing characters won’t require you to completely relearn the game!
Man-eating Monsters Hiding in Plain Sight!
As investigators face off against metaphorical (or sometimes literal) monsters, the rare investigator may literally be a monster themselves, and keeping it secret from the other players while having to sate their sinister hunger is a game of intrigue all its own.
Extreme Versatility!
Eureka is designed to be able to run (just about) any adventure module set between about 1850 and the present day with hardly any adjustments to either the system or the module, no matter what system that module was originally made for! Investigation, action, survival-horror, you name it, Eureka can run it!
Player-driven investigation, a rewarding system for solving mysteries themselves, realistic high-stakes combat, gameplay determined by roleplay, and inter-party deception are all features you can look forward to in Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy.
Launch is still a ways off, but it doesn’t hurt to get the word out early!
