The fang of the silver serpent 🦈💥⚓️ Does a triton count for mermay? Perhaps! Anyway, I recently joined a pirate multi-shot in which I got to play Aysu!! She had a few story changes and her subclass is now a ‘living weapon’ so I decided to freshen up her design and make her a little more pirate-like! It’s been nearly 2 years since I originally designed her and it really looks like she spend these past two years pirating around on the high seas being a menace🌊 Working through commissions and other stuff so this was a fun little break for me! But now i’m back to it^^

say hi to kraken, my barto club oc! he's a douchebag

more info abt him and his dynamic with barto under the cut!

kraken is a 24 year old pirate, born and raised on a ship and then left in dressrosa as a 14 year old, after he stole and ate the tenta-tenta fruit that his parents had found and hidden. they were going to sell it to the donquixote pirates to get enough money to start life anew, as kraken's mother was expecting a second child. so, they left him in dressrosa and told him to figure life out by himself. sadly, they were killed bc they couldn't deliver the wares they promised. even in their last moments they never told the donquixote family where the devil fruit had gone, but, kraken being a selfish asshole immediately started flaunting it.

he ended up working for the donquixote family, becoming a lowly weapons dealer in the secret docks in exchange for his life. he spent a lot of time strangling, threatening and killing people.

he joined barto's crew after dressrosa was freed, having seen how capable bartolomeo was and hearing abt him being considered a massive threat - it sounded like a good time, to be honest. he did not expect to fall completely in love with barto, though.

kraken is a pervert in the :3 sense if u get me

his crush started after he saw bartolomeo break off a persons fingers with his bare hands

he flirts with barto all the time, barto usually ignores him unless he is bored and wants entertainment

kraken spends a lot of time pretending to love the straw hats for bartolomeo's sake, but in reality he is incredibly jealous

the few times bartolomeo and kraken get to talk one-on-one, kraken completely shuts down and all of his confidence slips away. bartolomeo finds this amusing.

barto has cut off several of kraken's tentacles during arguments and bickering sessions (and other sessions)

they sometimes share a bed, but kraken has to actively fight several strawhat plushies for attention

bartolomeo: kraken you need to finish off this guy kraken: yeah yeah but like. can i get a kiss? will i get a kiss if i do? bartolomeo: if you do it in a cool way i'll think abt it" bartolomeo then forgot.

… opinions on a pirate au? Just one more au?

There are four things that every pirate prays to. No gods, no masters, no kings, but the laws of sailing, things the cannot be left up to chance. The sea, the wind that carries them over her, the stars overhead that chart their path, and death. It's the pirates that pray for a pay day that really get into trouble. Ghost has never had that issue. He likes guarantees, likes knowing that there are constants(the sea, the stars, the air in his lungs, the long sleep waiting for him at the end of it all), likes days without surprises.

Except that Ghost has already met one of the four laws. He's found himself in graves both watery and dry, and every time he's managed to cheat death out of what they're deserved. Every time he's managed to outwit, out maneuver, out gun the very thing that waits for every pirate. He won't say how, finds the scars over his lips sewn shut every time he attempts to, but it's well known. Ghost has beat death, maybe not for good, but enough to know what's waiting for him on the other side. Enough to know that laws of nature don't follow human constraints, and that the men he's aligned himself with are meant for more than just this.

Enough to find the island he's been seeing in his dreams and unearth the only thing pirates hope against. He can call you whatever he likes when he cracks open the heavy wooden lid of the chest you were buried in: Greed, Envy, Violent passion, passing fancies, the first on a long list of things that doom pirates to the shore. You call yourself inevitable, the same as any of the laws, and you've just found four new vessels tailor made for the ideals they pray to.
